Chapter Text

The forest was dead silent on the surface. Looking up at the sky, it was an Erie black void that loomed over and made the forest even more darker. Every single grass blade was overgrown, it gave the situation feel like pray hiding from predator. The night was freezing,
And it seems like eyes were everywhere waiting and watching for something to happen.

The looming trees was ominously pointing towards danger, only a fool would enter the forest, Alone and unprepared for anything.
No it would make them easy pray. That’s what caution thought when she walked around the woods.Quiet as a barn owl she swept through the thick grass, taking in her surroundings she observed and growled in frustration when she found nothing.

Hopeful for a meal that might as well never came along. Her strange human body limped around, the skin was obviously peeling off and decaying. She was desperate for a new host. It had been days and her time was running out, cation grumbled angry as she moved along
Her body.

It was way to dangerous out in the city. Almost impossible for prey to be alone where no one could hear them screaming.
She never stayed near the alleyways either, it was easy to get pinned to the cold brick walls and stabbed.
No. She couldn’t risk that, only in her most desperate times she would enter an alleyway. But it seemed that both humans and monster knew not to hang around there either. She would always find nothing but disappointment.

She could feel as her host slowed down, their soul wasn’t going to last longer. It was difficult to find humans or monsters in the forest but so much easier then in the city because most of the time they were alone.

She took a sniff again with her parasitic abilities and caught the scent of a soul near by. She perked up immediately, this was her chance
And she wasn’t going to waste another second of it. She limped towards the victim, making sure to keep herself quiet. When she was only a few distances away, enough to see her victim she stalked closer taking in their appearance.

They looked like a skeleton which would make grabbing soul easily because her parasite form could slip pass his ribs with any issues. Unfortunately they were a monster and that ment they had magic, that would cause problems if he decided to fight back. She almost growled in agitation but stopped herself, she was so close already.. His sleeping clothes consisted of a plain white T shirt , black pants and blue boots. She smiled weakly and got even closer to him.

The forest is nice, swap looks up at the sky. For a second it reminded him of the dark ceiling of the underground and that startled him with panic before he remembered he was on the surface. If he looked hard enough he would see tiny white lights that were supposedly called stars, what a beautiful thing. He just loved staying up late and glancing around taking in everything. It reminded him that he was no longer trapped and that everyone was happy. He knew he wasn’t really allowed this late to many bad humans and terrible monsters
Edge had warned him, but in all honesty he didn’t want to listen to him.

Everything was peaceful for a moment before he noticed.

Swap immediately turned around and caught the figure off guard. Their frame was lanky and frail, swap raised an eyebrow before the figure cautiously approached him. He put his hands on his hips in confusion. Everything was dark and it was hard to see them.
