In the quiet town of Pallet Town in the Kanto region in a simple two story house lived a single mother named Delia Ketchum with her recently turned ten year old daughter Ashara 'Ash' Ketchum, who was going to be leaving in a matter of days to start out as a pokémon trainer. Now things haven't been easy for the two of them ever since Ash's father, whom Delia wasn't married to but he did live with them, then left them when Ash was around five, all because Ash was a girl and not a boy like he wanted since the ultrasounds when going to Delia's appointments' when she was pregnant with Ash all mistakenly made it look like they were having a boy instead of a girl, & that jerk just couldn't take it any longer on being a father to a daughter, so he upped and left them, and made sure to make it difficult to find them just so he didn't have to ever pay for child support. And if that wasn't enough, Ash also had to deal with intense bullying in school by her classmates and even her own teacher, with all that bullying being led by Prof. Oak's grandson Gary, who was always saying Ash wasn't aloud to be in the league because she's a girl, which Ash pointed out wasn't true because plenty of women enter the league & with the girl making it clear to Gary he just flat out didn't want HER in the league & be better than him.
Ash even also had to deal with her classmates and ironically the same teacher she had ever since 1st grade constantly berating her by calling her an idiot all the time and constantly praising Gary for how intelligent he is, even when Gary got a question wrong and Ash got the same question right, their teacher would still find a way to make Gary's answer right and her's wrong, which Ash was convinced there was no way her teacher was that intelligent & was probably hired in the first place to boost Gary's ego more than it already was & was aloud to remain as her same teacher to further boost Gary's ego. To prove she was better than Gary and not the idiot everyone calls her, Ash worked endlessly to prove how intelligent she was, even pointing out things not taught in school, like the existence of Fairy types, Dark types, & Steel types, even though everyone was convinced she made those three types up, and even when Ash pointed out the existence of pokémon outside of Kanto, which also had them all convinced she was making those pokémon up, until they all were introduced to some of them and seen league battles of trainers from the other regions using those three typing's and other region pokémon, then they saw was smarter than they thought, but since none of them wanted to admit it, they all still treated her lousy.
But days later on the morning she was off to start her journey on September 1st, with the league officially starting on May 18th this year, she was up bright an early, since she made sure to move her alarm clock to the opposite side of her room incase she breaks it in her sleep by accident. With her mom up and making breakfast, then when after Ash ate her breakfast, she was off to the lab while her mom packed any remaining things she needed, and while she was only 15 minutes late since her mom wouldn't stop fretting over her, which wasn't a big deal instead of if she was a couple hours late from oversleeping. Though when she got there, she saw Gary boasting about himself and no doubt his Squirtle since she knew he always wanted that particular pokémon as his starter and how they'll conquer the league, with a hoard of cheerleaders with Gary and leaving in a convertible car of all things, which surprisingly didn't surprise Ash since she knows how spoiled that brat is. As she walked into the lab, knowing the other trainer & the only nice classmate of her's Leaf, who no doubt already left with the Bulbasaur she wanted as her starter, leaving Ash confident the Charmander she requested a few days ago and was caring for the past week was still here, since that was the pokémon she wanted so badly as her starter, since she loved the power that was Charizard, just like Kanto-Johto Champion Lance of Blackthorn and the youngest and most recent Champion, Galar Champion Leon, since both Champions have powerful Charizards, she wanted a powerful Charizard and she always loved wanting to fly on her Charizard starter.
Walking up to Professor Oak, "Professor, I'm here to officially start my journey as a trainer and get my starter."
"Ah Ash." Oak said to her. "I'm sorry to say this but there was a fourth trainer who I forgot signed up two months ago, and because I forgot about that trainer, the trainer arrived far earlier than you, Gary, & Leaf did and took the Charmander you requested. And because I forgot all about that trainer, I didn't have the chance to get a second Charmander sent over." With Ash looking quite upset she missed out on getting a starter, & more specifically the one she reserved.
"Do you have any pokémon left?" Ash asked him, desperate to have a starter.
"While I did just capture a Pikachu not even a hour ago...." Oak drifted in thought, like he wanted to give her that Pikachu. "But the league would have my head if I gave you Pikachu due to it being highly aggressive towards me & my lab assistants to where I need to give the rangers a call to relocate him." He even showed Ash the security camera of Pikachu and how aggressive he was to where he was electrocuting everyone around him, until Oak's Alakahzam to hold Pikachu still to put pokémon back into his pokéball. "But I did contact one of my collogues who does have a starter available." With Oak taking out from his lab coat-pocket a pokéball with a teardrop sticker on it and opened it onto the table, with the pokémon being a blue frog with white sticky bubbles around its neck and two on its nose like a mustache. "This here is Froakie, the water type starter from the Kalos region."
"He's adorable." With Ash immediately hugging the frog, but not too tightly, which the frog was not surprised, since she wasn't his first trainer and from his experience it was usually the female trainers he was given to that called him adorable and immediately hugged him.
With Prof. Oak handing Ash her pokédex, along with telling her how her's is set for national setting instead of regional, and her empty pokéballs with her clipping Froakie's pokéball to her belt, she walked outside the lab while still holding her starter, only to be greeted by her mom and some of the neighbors.
"Mom...What...." Was all Ash could say, since she never expected anyone but just her mom to see her off, so seeing their neighbors was a surprise that made Ash happy.
"We're all here to see you off sweetie." Delia said to her daughter as she handed her only child her backpack who immediately putted it on while still holding her starter, which Delia took notice of since this was a pokémon she didn't recognize. "Is this your starter? I don't recognize him."
"He is mom." Ash answered her mom. "And the reason why you wouldn't recognize him is because Froakie here is the water type starter from the Kalos region."
"Are you planning on keeping him out of his pokéball then?" Curious as to why Oak gave Ash a starter from a different region instead of checking with the breeders for the Kanto starters to see if any of them still have one of the Kanto starters avaliable.
"I am. Mainly since Kanto is different than Kalos and as extra precaution since there are plenty of creeps out there." Ash told her mom, who looked relived hearing her daughter was keeping her starter out for extra protection.
Giving her daughter a hug and bidding her good luck on the gyms and to video call her every chance she gets, with also asking Froakie to watch over her daughter, with a croak of 'yes' from the frog pokémon, whom Ash placed him on her shoulder, but not before her mom just had to remind her to change her underwear often, right in front of the crowd, which embarrassed the pre-teen. While Ash waved 'goodbye' to her mom as she ran down the rode onto Route 1 before her mom could embarrass her more than she already did with the underwear thing, eager to see where her journey takes her, but she was not prepared for what was about to happen.

LivingLegend: i'm Leon the Galar Champion. and I've only been Champion for about 2 months now
GroundQueen: i knew galar just had their league & crowned a new champion but it was kept hidden the name of galar's new champion, so it looks like we'll also be helping you out then

DragonMaster: did you just say Mew showed up in front of you too!?
ChosenOne: i did
ChosenOne: mew also said 6 people will be helping me on my journey and since there's 6 of you here, it looks like you 6 are supposed to be helping me out on my journey
MovieStar: and we will, right everyone

MovieStar: now why don't you just start out with how journey is going so far
ChosenOne: well since this is my first day, I woke up on time, but I was still late by only 15 minutes since my mom was fretting over me since I'm her only child and she was clearly not ready for 10 year old to leave home
LivingLegend: understandable, my mom was also fretting over me when I left for my journey and Galar upped their age limit for starting trainers to 13, with me being almost 14 now since Galar used to have the age limit at 10, but upped it when I was 8 so our starting trainers can get more experience before they turn 13
ChosenOne: when I got to Professor Oak's lab, I already knew who took Bulbasaur and my school bully who declaired himself as my rival took Squritle, which was fine since I always wanted Charmander as my starter anyway, just like Champion Lance & Galar's new Champion Leon
DragoneMaster: represent!
LivingLegend: the best starter there is
ChosenOne: only when I got there, it turns out there was a surprise 4th trainer who showed up far earlier than me and the other two did, which prof. oak completely forgot all about who signed up two months ago, with that trainer taking Charmander leaving me without a starter, even though I requested to have Charmander as my starter a few days ago
LivingLegend: boooooo!
ChosenOne: and to top it off, prof oak didn't even bother to get a second charmander because he 'forgot' about the fourth trainer
OldTimer: that's not right! as a regional professor he's supposed to make sure to have plenty of starters avaliable no matter what
ChosenOne: oak was even thinking of handing me a highly agressive Pikachu he just caught only an hour before I showed up
OldTimer: what was that man thinking!? giving a rookie trainer a highly agressive pokémon he just caught is against the law!
OldTimer: it also leads to said agressive pokémon going as far as to abandon the rookie trainer far easier and faster even!
ChosenOne: i know! i even read about how that law was put together by Unova Champion Alder just over 20 years ago after Unova's former regional professor Charles Cedar did the exact same thing where a rookie trainer that was given a very aggressive Lilipup left said trainer for dead, with the trainer severly killed by wild pokémon when their starter abandoned them
ChosenOne: which was also what ended up leading to unova's age limit being upped from 10 to 16
DragonMaster:@OldTimer think you could send me a copy of that report later? id like to read that
OldTimer: i can do that
ChosenOne: oak even said the reason why he couldn't give me that Pikachu was because the league would have his head if he gave me Pikachu
ChosenOne: which makes sense since I remember hearing how he almost got arrested when his grandaughter and a good friend of her's who was also her rival started as trainers and Oak gave his grandaughter a bulbasuar and her rival a random wild pokémon he just caught cause he said there was no other starters available when only his grandaughter and her friend were the only two starting trainers
DragonMaster: i remember reading that. and how Samual almost lost his job as Kanto's regional Professor for that stunt he pulled
DragonMaster: and now he tried to pull that same stunt on you because of your rivalry with his grandson
ChosenOne: it's the only reason why he would to do that to me
GroundQueen: before we further get off topic, what is your starter then chosen
ChosenOne: oak asked one of the other regional professors and the only one that had a starter was the Kalos Professor
MovieStar: reprsent! :)
MovieStar: what starer did you get then?
ChosenOne: it was a Froakie
SteelRocks: did you check his moveset already?
ChosenOne: i have not.........alright, Froakie clearly either was passed over numerous times and trained himself or I'm not his first trainer and his other trainers trained him and him also training himself
LivingLegend: why's that?
ChosenOne: because he knows Water Gun, Pound, Quick Attack, Water Pulse, Smokescreen, Protect, Mud-Slap, Icy Wind, & even Sneak Attack which if I'm right he's too young to already know that attack, with him showing he's also learning Fling & Grass Knot
ChosenOne: and he has 5 egg moves with 2 currently unlocked unlocked, with the egg moves being Toxic Spikes, Camouflage, Spite, Hidden Power, & Extrasensory, with toxic spikes and camouflage being the only ones unlocked
SteelRocks: that's impressive for a first stage starter to already know all these moves & to have all his egg moves already unlocked, which makes sense as no doubt he came from that froakie breeding facility in kalos and was bred specifically to have up to 4 or 5 egg moves
SteelRocks: which usually is standard for breeding facilities to have starters to have that many egg moves
LivingLegend: i didn't know that
ChosenOne: neither did i
SteelRocks: now you both do, and my best friend, who happens to be a water trainer would be highly impressed with Froakie and his moveset
MovieStar: wait a minute.....i know that Froakie
ChosenOne: you do?
MovieStar: that's the same froakie the kalos professor said was abandoning every rookie trainer he was given to ever since he hatched five years ago
LivingLegend: five years of abandoning trainers?
MovieStar: thats right
MovieStar: and from what was said about Oak, no dobut he most likly gave you that specific froakie in hopes froakie would abandon you like all the other trainers he abandoned, that way he wouldn't get into trouble with the league by giving you a legit regional starter
ChosenOne: that jerk

LivingLegend: what about froakie's ability?
LivingLegend: do you know what his ability is?
ChosenOne: that's just it legend, his ability is not Torent or Protean like it normally is for his species. instead its listed as unknown
DragonMaster: never heard of an ability being listed as unknown, especially for a regional starter, unless its a fire type with solar power as their ability, then sunny day would be needed to activate their ability
ChosenOne: gotta go. gonna do some training with Froakie and try to catch a pokémon
SteelRocks: good luck to both the training and catching a pokémon
ChosenOne: alright.....didn't see a pokémon that I wanted to catch, and boy do I have a story to tell you all
LivingLegend: what all happened and where are you at right now?
ChosenOne: i'm at the Viridian pokémon center waiting for Froakie to be finished being treated and after I didn't find a pokémon I wanted to catch, but I did get some training in with Froakie to work on the attacks he's still working on and the attacks he knows, which upon seeing I knew what I was doing more than the typical rookie does made him happy, & even scanned a pidgey that flew by, only while we were training a stray water gun ended up hitting a nearby spearow
DragonMaster: oh no......
MovieStar: i take it those spearow are quite dangerous
ChosenOne: very dangerous
DragonMaster: so dangerous people have been severly injured by that flock to even reports of people getting killed even, which i'm going to have a couple of rangeres sent over to deal with the more aggesive members of the flock, including that fearow
ChosenOne: thanks dragon. anyway, as soon as that spearow was hit, I immidiantly grabbed froakie, which I'm glad I didn't take my backpack off and ran as fast as i could to get as much distance between me and the flock that spearow & lead fearow called for caught up to us and hoping the one that was hit didn't get a good look at us
GroundQueen: how far did you get before the spearow flock caught up?
ChosenOne: i actually fell from a cliff and landed in the small lake with froakie making a type of air bubble so I could breathe, and I'm glad he's a water type since we both were able to stay under the water long enough for the flock to fly away
ChosenOne: but before I could swim to the surface, a fishing line caught my jacket and pulled me and froakie to the surface where a red headed girl about my age who now I realized was actually Misty Waterflower, the youngest sister and one of the four Cuerlean City gym leaders, who was fishing at the lake & looked quite surprised to see she caught a trainer and a unfamiliar pokémon instead of a water type
MovieStar: what happened after that?
ChosenOne: well after she notcied froakie was actually an unfamiliar water type, I quickly told her we were running from the spearow flock with the fearow leading them, which she said they flew past but went a completely different direction, far from the lake, meaning froakie and me won't be chased by them anymore
DragonMaster: now how did you both get to the pokémon center? since it was also storming over there
ChosenOne: well at first i was going to run for it, but misty surprisingly offered me to borrow her bike to beat the storm or at least get close enough to viridian by the time the storm hits
OldTimer: how close to did you get to the city by the time the storm hit?
ChosenOne: i would say I was still about a mile away by the time the storm hit, only it was an electical storm and with the bike being metal and most likly a cheaper quality bike, a stray lightning bolt hit the bike, causing me to grab froakie and jump from the smoking bike
GroundQueen & Five Others: ARE YOU BOTH ALRIGHT!!??
ChosenOne: we both are all of you, with Nurse Joy treating froakie's burns while chansey used heal pulse on me to treat my burns and I had heal burn in my backpack anyway to help out, though since we both were already soaking wet from being in the lake and the rain certainly didn't help, cause i did get some electrical burns, while froakie was hit worse due to his water typing since water cunducts electricity
ChosenOne: oh...and before i forget....i saw Ho-Oh, and since professor oak had to havve my pokédex set to national setting instead of regional because of froakie, meaning my pokédex was able to scan Ho-Oh and give the description about it, and it dropped a rainbow feather, but I'm keeping it in my backpack for the time being as a souviner
GroundQueen: thats amazing
DragonMaster: i also assume you called your mom when you got there even
ChosenOne: i did video call my mom dragon, and while she wasn't happy froakie and me got fried, but otherwise she was glad we both got to the center, though i called prof oak as well
DragonMaster: and what did he have to say?
ChosenOne: for starters he clearly was not happy froakie is still with me and didn't abandon me like he most likly figured would happen given froakie's history star mentioned
ChosenOne: and that moron had to gall to bet a million dollars with his own grandson how i would catch my first pokémon before getting to viridian, then got pissed off at ME for not catching a pokémon and now is complaining he owes gary, his grandson, a million dollars, even when i made it clear when i capture pokémon i want to make sure its perfect for me and not throw pokéballs at every random pokémon i see, just like what his grandson no doubt is doing
DragonMaster: oak should never being doing anything this idioctic in the first place
ChosenOne: i know! gotta go, misty just walked in with her fried bike and hopefully she's not too angry about her bike being fried
