Work Text:

Scott was messing around with the strings on his bass while Wallace was busy fixing himself a drink. It wasn’t rare to see his roommate getting shitfaced on a regular basis.

Scott jolted a bit and plucked a sour note that made him wince when he felt Wallace’s arms wrap around him. He was giggling a bit and Scott looked over to see what he was doing.

Wallace’s face was warm and he was swaying. He was clearly already drunk which wasn’t the craziest thing. But it had to be a new record for him to get drunk this fast.

As Wallace tightened his embrace, Scott couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's speedy intoxication. "Dude, slow down on the drinks," Scott teased, trying to steady the bass strings despite the unexpected interruption. He held on tighter to his bass in case Wallace decided to get handsy all of a sudden again.

Wallace laughed a bit between his hiccups and he buried his way into his roommate’s neck. His breath tickled as it hit Scott’s neck. The hairs on his body started to stand up from the stimulation.

“Come on Scottttttt you know it’s not a party without some drinks!” He started to giggle a lot as he mumbled against his skin.

Scott tried to stay as calm as possible with this new proximity. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for them to share touch and a few kisses here and there. They shared a bed for crying out loud!

He reached a hand out to pat Wallace’s head a bit. “Yeah I know and I would normally agree but this isn’t a party.” Wallace turned his head a bit so Scott was cupping his cheek. “It’s just a Saturday night Wallace.”

As Scott gently patted Wallace's head, he couldn't help but smile at his drunken shenanigans. "True, true," Wallace slurred, his drunken grin widening.

Scott grabbed Wallace’s margarita glass with a wince and put it down far away from him. Wallace looked at him with a pout having lost his alcohol which probably replaced all the water in his body.

Wallace needed something else to do now that he couldn’t drink. Suddenly an idea popped into his head. He pulled away from Scott and stumbled forward to reach for his bass.

Wallace's unsteady fingers fumbled a bit to find the correct way to hold it. He put it in several positions to try and see what way he should use. He glanced at Scott basically begging him for help.

Scott chuckled at Wallace's attempts to handle the bass. "Hold on, let me show you." He stood up and got behind his roommate and wrapped his arms around him. Gently taking the bass, Scott positioned it in Wallace's hands, guiding him into the right position.

Wallace’s heart pounded through his head and he couldn’t tell if it was the close proximity or the alcohol causing it. Scott’s voice was close to his ear and he tensed up a bit. Scott pushed his shoulders down to ease the tension. “See? It’s not that bad,” he mumbled in his ear.

As Scott guided Wallace, the room filled with a thick tension that made Wallace nervous.. Wallace's cheeks turned a deep shade of red, a noticeable contrast against his warm, alcohol-flushed face. "Yeah, not bad at all," Wallace stammered, trying to focus on the bass rather than the close proximity and Scott's distracting presence.

Feeling Wallace's tension, Scott continued guiding his hands on the bass, unaware of the impact he was having. "Alright, let's start with some basic chords," Scott suggested, his fingers gently adjusting Wallace's on the strings. Wallace, still blushing, stammered, "Sure, sounds good."

Scott assumed he must be acting like this because of the effects of the alcohol hitting him. So, he just continued to whisper the instructions in Wallace’s ear in a tone that made Wallace momentarily forget how to breathe.

The room filled with a melody of whispered instructions and fumbling bass strings as Scott unintentionally intensified the atmosphere. Wallace, caught in the mix of alcohol-induced courage and Scott's magnetic presence, found it increasingly challenging to focus on the chords. Blushing even more, he finally mustered the courage to ask, "Could you... show me again, slowly?"

Oblivious to Wallace's nervousness, Scott continued his patient guidance. "Sure thing," he replied with a friendly grin. Slowly, he demonstrated the chords, his fingers moving deliberately across the bass strings. Wallace, still blushing, tried his best to follow Scott's lead.

As Scott patiently demonstrated the chords, Wallace's attention wavered. Fueled by a mix of alcohol courage and overwhelming emotions, Wallace abruptly gave up on the bass. In a bold move, he grabbed Scott's face and kissed him, momentarily forgetting about the musical lesson.

Startled by the sudden kiss, Scott initially tensed up but quickly melted into the unexpected warmth. Wallace's bold move caught him off guard, but the sensations that followed left Scott pleasantly surprised. He found himself enjoying the spontaneous embrace, and the room filled with a new kind of harmony as their lips met.

As the kiss deepened, Scott let go of any reservations, allowing himself to be swept up in the moment. He gripped Wallace’s cheek with a small hum. When they pulled away Scott couldn’t keep his eyes off Wallace.

“Wow…yeah forget the bass,” Scott stammered out before he recaptured Wallace’s lips on his own. He put the bass down and put his full attention on the boy in front of him.

I know this is way shorter than my last works but I thought this would just be a cute little one shot :)
