Chapter Text

Ichika Hoshino, a 24 year old producer and part time worker at a local floral and plant shop.

She lives alone in her apartment on the 5th floor. Monday through Friday she drives out to her work, where she helps out customers and takes care of plants. She’s also guilty of favoring the cacti and caring for them more, as she has some of them in her apartment as well.

When she’s done with her part time job, she goes back home and gets on the computer to work on a song. She’ll adjust the instruments and tune whatever voice bank she’s using (most likely Miku). Then, once it’s all done, she’ll post it online, where she’s grown a goof following. One good enough to make her some money. She’ll occasionally post covers of herself too, either singing her own songs or singing other producers songs.

In her free time, Ichika will play her guitar, care for cacti, and even do some street performances. She’ll perform at a busy section, where many people can listen, and where many others are performing as well. There she’ll sing and play her guitar freely, occasionally getting people who’ll throw some money into her guitar case without her needing or asking them to.

It’s fun. It’s a distraction. A way to forget.

So, one night when she’s performing, why does a person from her past come back to disrupt that?

Saki Tenma, a 24 year old cosmetologist who is still obsessed with the gyaru style.

She lives in her own one story house by herself. Through out college she grew a customer following from her skills and personality. Her clients grew as she went off to start her own personal business. She enjoys the fact that she owns everything and can make her own decisions on when she works and how she works

In her free time, she enjoys going shopping, partying at clubs, playing on the keyboard, and taking photos. She’ll post on her socials a lot too, showing off her photography, herself, and promoting her hair and makeup work. When she’s home by herself and not going out she enjoys playing the keyboard. Her interest for it sparked back up when she was 20 and she’s been improving and playing as a personal hobby ever since. She enjoys the melodies that she can make and has even wrote a few songs, but hasn’t shared them with anyone yet.

One night, while she was heading home after shopping, she stopped in her tracks, hearing a familiar voice. She couldn’t exactly put her finger on who it was, well, almost. But it couldn’t be the person she was thinking of, right?

She waited for the crowd to move a bit so she could see the street performer. Their song finished with a final guitar strum and the crowd shuffled off. There she could finally see her.

“Ichika?”

The girls stared at each other for a moment, before Saki spoke up again,

“I haven’t seen you in forever! I didn’t know that you played the guitar!”

“Ah-! Yeah I do.” Ichika nervously stammered out. What was Saki doing here? After all this time. We were never were on bad terms but she hasn’t…We stopped…

“You’re really good! Im sorry, I’m just really shocked right now! I mean, wow! You’re really good at playing and singing and I mean—look at your hair! You even cut it!” Saki was beaming. Was this it? The chance to get at least one of her childhood friends back? She hopped so.

”Oh yeah,” A flustered Ichika touched the end of her hair. It was just above her chest now. “You look nice too.”

”Thank you! I actually do modeling now too!” Saki’s phone began to ring, “Ah! I’m sorry, here you know what,” she began shuffling through her bag trying to find her phone, “how about we catch up another time, okay? When are you free?”

”Oh, uh I don—“

Saki found her phone, “here how about we catch up at the cafe just around that corner next week on…Saturday at 2:30. Is that good?”

”Yeah, I mean—“

”That’s great!” Saki lit up before looking down at her phone to check the caller, “crap,” she quickly whispered, “Well I have to go, but don’t bail on me, kay?” She smiled and waved goodbye before rushing away on the phone.

Ichika stared in some sort of shock, trying to process what happened.

Did that really happen?

Ichika concluded that it did. And now she was going to have to meet up with Saki next week. She didn’t even have the girls contact information!

Ichika sighed and packed up her stuff. She didn’t have the concentration to play anymore.

Saki Tenma. The girl she hadn’t seen in years. The girl who she made fade out of her life. The girl she let down all those years ago, was back?

A weird feeling bubbled up inside of her. A feeling of happiness, sadness, relief, guilt, and some odd other thing she just couldn’t pin point. A weird emotion filling her every breath and bone because of this.

Because of Saki Tenma coming back.

And because she’s going to meet back with her again, after all this time.

Chapter Text

“You’re leaving?!” An angry girls voice spat out.

”Yeah, look I’m sorry but I just don’t think I’m a right fit here.”

”Oh of course you don’t! You’re so stubborn you know! I bet it’s because we’re not ‘good enough’ for you!”

“That’s not true! I just don’t think I can stay here.”

”Bull shit. I knew we should’ve never let you join,” the girl motioned to the other band members, “Don’t think I haven’t heard about you. You’re just a band hopping, joining who ever you can and then leaving when you’re unsatisfied with them. You’re such an egotistical bitch!”

“That’s not-“

”You don’t care about anyone but yourself. You’re harsh and rude to people you don’t know, you’re so distant, and you think you’re better than everyone here!”

”Whatever, I’m leaving.”

”Good! We don’t want your selfish ass here anyways!”

Shiho Hinomori is 23 years old, and just left her band. She’s currently walking alone under the night sky, and lighting a cigarette. She plays the bass, and she’s in no way bad at playing. For her music career, she’s hopped around from band to band, performing with them, but always becomes unsatisfied. Something always seems to be missing, so she always ends up leaving.

And tonight she’s become aware of the reputation it has given her.

But, to be honest, Shiho doesn’t care. She’s fine without them. If they don’t have what she wants, then she’s going to leave, as simple as that. She’s even made it easier for them by not building relations between the band members. If they’re pissy about it, then so what!

She exhales the smoke and continues walking, just her and her bass.

Shiho lives alone in an apartment, it’s not much but it’s fine for her. She lives on the eighth floor, and has her own small balcony. She decorates the place with musical gear, some cute plushies, and some furniture to not make it look so plain. She laughs at herself for it though, no one ever comes over. She didn’t need to decorate for anyone, not even her sister has come over more than two times (Shiho’s gotten around that by calling her, making up lies to make her not visit, and simply going over to Shizuku’s house instead).

Shiho places down her bass and goes out to her balcony. Outside, she leans on the railing and lights another cigarette.

Listening to the people and cars, Shiho sighs.

“Am I really selfish…?” she whispers out to nobody.

In the silence, she doesn’t get an answer.

Shiho breaks down and cry’s, “I really am pathetic, aren’t I?” She says out to the dark sky once more.

Putting out her cigarette and going back inside, she once again is left without an answer.

She doesn’t know if she prefers it that way or not.

Honami Mochizuki is 23 years old and is currently crying while calling her brother.

”I’m sorry…I’m really trying to calm down I mean…I’ve done everything I’ve been told to do I just—I don’t understand—I…why do I still feel this way?!” She sobbed out.

Years ago, when her friends broke up and she was deemed two face, Honami has had depressive episodes. It’s gotten…somewhat ‘better’ over the years, but it’s still not good. These waves of guilt, sadness, and self hatred consume her to the point where she becomes bed ridden and has no modulation to do anything but cry.

When things like this happen, she’s learned to call her brother, who first helped her when she was 21. That first time was definitely the worst that he’s seen her. She was sobbing and on the verge of taking all her pills, but luckily he talked her out of it.

Honami has insane amounts of guilt for doing this to him. She knows she traumatized him, and she does everything to smother him and show her appreciation, but there are times where she just can’t hold it in anymore and needs someone she can trust, and as of that point, it’s always been him.

With Honami still sobbing, he tries to calm her down, “Just breathe, it’s fine. We talked about this, getting better takes time, you know?”

Honami began to control her crying, “I know…” she sniffled, “It’s just—I don’t know. It’s been years of me feeling this way. Why won’t it leave? I just want to be me again.”

”I know.”

They say in silence, only being disturbed by Honami sniffing and her brother’s distant fan buzzing over the phone.

“Maybe I’m just scared,” Honami said out, “Of confronting my problems. I just bottle them up until I explode. If I just would face them sooner than I—Then maybe I wouldn’t be like this. And I wouldn’t have to make you deal with me either.”

”I’m fine with helping you, but I do think you should find a way to get over your fear. Find a way to stop bottling things up, and instead start healing. I know you stopped, but I think therapy could do you some good now. Since you want to get better. Since you found your problem, now you just need help with fixing it.”

“Maybe.” Honami hushed out. “Would you want to meet up again soon?”

”Of course.”

Honami smiled, “Great, I think I’m going to head to bed now.”

”You sure? I can stay longer if you need me to.”

”No, it’s okay.”

”Alright, well goodnight.”

”Night.”

She hung up the phone.

Honami got up from the floor and shuffled to her bed. She let herself be consumed by her blankets and sheets and drifted off into sleep.

Notes:

Ichika and Sakis chapter was so much less angst than this one lmao

Also fun fact! I originally wasn’t going to add Honami bc I was undecided if I wanted her to have an adopted son, BUT I made up my mind and wrote out the child. BUT Honami content and Honami brother content :3
