Chapter 1: Introduction.
Chapter Text
Yokohama was never welcoming to outsiders, or so it seems.
Even before quirks, entry to the city was as hard as you get. Honestly, you'd have a better chance finding a needle in a haystack. However, after the appearance of the supernatural called quirks they completely shut of, both figuratively and literally. A sudden huge dome appeared not long after encasing the city. Although, maybe completely shut off is an overstatement as there has been cases of people going in and out. 9/10 it was the quirkless trying to flee and find somewhere to belong. It's known that Yokohama has the majority of the world's quirkless population not to mention a high crime rate. Yet the last part is simply something people came up with after hearing the few problem the city encountered.
There was no one to correct them tho, most people that moved there never came out. This means hardly anyone knows what its like inside unless you live there. There are a few exceptions, one of them is our lovable, psycho hybrid, Principal Nezu. He was bored, and annoyed at how black and white the world is. This is also a reason why he acts so careless, to introduce grey. Yet to his dismay they won't listen, so he took matters into his own hands, or rather, paws.
You see Nezu is originally from Yokohama and has connections to Fukuzawa which also means he met Ranpo. Due to their similarly high intelligence you could say they bonded over it. And both of his friends are not one to ignore a request.
"Eraser Head please come to my office"
"Ughh..." a groan escaped from the sleep deprived adult got out of his sleeping bag and made his way to the room. "This better be a pay rise Nezu, cause I'm finally getting some sleep after what you put me through".
"Might be a pay rise depending on how well this goes", the rodent smiled at him across the table with his beady eyes, this made the man suspicious.
"You usually ignore my requests for a pay rise, what is it now." The man said as he took his seat on a nearby chair.
"Oh I'm just here to talk about a new class trip consisting of your students and possibly some others, its a bit more...special. I've made all the arrangements for guides and protection so you don't have to worry", he said with his usual smiley expression which made it impossible for Aizawa to decipher anything.
With a stare then a sigh he finally asked "and where exactly is this trip?"
A sudden change of expression came over Nezu's face, the closest thing you could maybe describe it as smug, like a 'Ha! He finally asked'. He looked at the older male and answered:
"Yokohama"
Chapter Text
The elder male walked back to his class clearly distraught and annoyed at this situation. What was Nezu thinking! Leaving teenagers at a city crawling with dangerous criminals. Yet he cannot argue as it seems that rodent has everything planned out, not to mention he is literally his boss.
He opened his door and walked in and stood in front of the class. The students, noticing this, immediately became quiet and looks at their teacher as he never stands in front unless he’s making an announcement.
With a sigh he looked at his students composing himself quite quickly and spoke “We will be having a class trip for a while. The time period is undecided, if you have complaints about that take it up with Nezu.”
The class immediately started buzzing with conversation about the trip, some students (Iida) complained about the undecided time period while others were excited. “Umm…Mr. Aizawa, where is this trip?” Momo asked while the others looked back at their teacher awaiting an answer.
Yet with another sigh he replied “we will be going to Yokohama”. You could see a mixture of emotions on the man’s face as he said this, unsure of himself as if it might have just been an elaborate prank by Nezu. Alas it was not. The class started to buzz again, however the voices with excitement turned to fear and skepticism.
“Mr Aizawa are you talking about that Yokohama? Or is it a different place with the same name? I mean, surely we can’t go there right?” Izuku asked, “Isn’t that pace filled with powerful villains?!” Kaminari exclaimed, “The people there are probably miserable, there won’t be anything for us to learn” Mina said, “I heard there’s no one with a quirk there!”, Kirishima spoke out.
The man sighed for the umpteenth time “Nezu has already prepared everything. We will send a letter to your guardian as well and if you still have issues after that you are welcomed not to join. The decision is up to you however, your guardian won’t be able to influence unless you agree with them. So go take your problem with him. I’m going back to sleep”
the students looked at each other worried over this event. God knows what could happen, after all, it’s Yokohama.
It’s been a few days after the announcement of the trip. Multiple students decided to drop from it so the remaining were Izuku, Bakugo, Ochaco, Mina, Momo, Jirou, Kirishima, Iida, Todoroki, Kaminari, Tsuyu and Tokoyami. For some reason Monoma and Shinsou joined the group, no one really questioned why as they were too focused on where they're going than who with.
They all stood outside the school waiting for the bus with their teacher. Many are feeling nervous, actually all of them are, yet some are quite excited to see the inside of Yokohama. It’s a once in a lifetime chance and they have been reassured multiple times they will have sufficient protection by Nezu. Something about an agency? Details were not specified about them but it’s evident that Nezu knows them.
After waiting for a few minutes the bus finally arrived and the students got in one by one. Some were still sceptical over this and hesitated while boarding, yet in a few hours they arrived in front of the yellow large dome. The bus driver then dropped them in from there and left as the area of entry to the city is -obviously- confidential.
The students and the teacher looked in front of them at the dome. It was massive, probably the largest man made thing ever. It's clear that Yokohama is a large city, it would've been considered the largest in the world actually if it wasn't for the fact they are cut from the outside world. Many have tried to break in, yet the dome seemed unbreakable, no one has found the entrance inside and no one was able to create one to get inside. This then was declared as the power of an ability user.
Yes it is confirmed that little no one has a quirk in Yokohama, yet there were these powers called ability that are much stronger and rarer than quirks. An ability does not run in genetics so it is completely random, their names are also quite confusing as many times it may not have anything to do with their power. These abilities are believed to have existed much before quirks. Due to this people have the ideology that ability users are criminals, so if one is spotted outside of Yokohama they will be put to jail unless Yokohama declared their protection over the individual. Nezu has said that there is an agency consisting of these people that will guard them. Nonetheless they're wary.
"Kunikida-dono! Why can't you carry me~" a voice close by came to their hearing. It sounded like a young male, but they sounded incredibly childish.
"Ranpo-san, even tho you're incredibly smart you need to exercise more, besides we need to look professional", another male voice was heard.
"But Atsushi-kun does it all time for me, he's such a gentleman you know, you need to learn from him, maybe write down his daily actions"
Two male figures then appeared beside them, one seemed to be a young male, probably the one that was asking for a ride, his eyes were closed yet he wore glasses which confused most of the entries, he had short black messy hair with a brown hat and a packet of crisp in his grasp. Next to him was another young male, he was tall and slim with spiky long blond hair in a ponytail at the end, he had dark grey eyes and a similar pair of glasses. He seemed quite uptight and strict, maybe this is a long relative of Iida.
The shorter male looked at the students and grinned. "Why hello there! You all are probably Nezu's students right? of course I'm right, because after all, I'm the world's greatest detective!" The other man sighed at and put away a notebook that read something about ideals. "Hello there, I'm Doppo Kunikida, and this is Edogawa Ranpo. we are part of the Armed Detective Agency that will be in charge of your safety here. Please follow us." He had a strong voice which made him sound like leader. The group nodded and followed them in silence with their teacher in front of them. With a sudden flash of light they all fell into some sort of playroom.
"I appreciate your help Lucy-chan" The elder male addressed to a young woman in the middle of the room. She seemed much younger with long, messy red hair in two braids. She had a fierce look that reminded them of the no.5 pro hero Mirko.
"Yes, yes. I only did it cause Atsushi-kun asked me kindly, unlike your stupid partner Dazai who basically demanded me."
"Wait, where are we?!" Aizawa suddenly interfered glaring at the trio, his eyes red and his hair floating up. The rest of the students got into fighting positions and a blond boy that reminded the trio of Chuuya started running headfirst at them, mini explosions going of in his hand.
Lucy just looked at them annoyed and snapped her fingers and suddenly the doll - Ane-san - wrapped around the boy. He tried to get out my using his quirk but for some reason he couldn't use it.
"Lucy-chan~ Please be more lenient on our outside guests please~" A (mocking?) voice came from the shorter male, Ranpo, who was sitting on one of the blocks and clearly enjoying the show with a grin plastered to his face.
the girl and the taller male sighed unanimously and with a snap the doll let go of the boy who slumped to the floor, face red from embarrassment and anger.
"I apologise for the sudden shift but this is how you will be entering and exiting Yokohama. Lucy-chan's ability helps you teleport into this room and the door there can lead to anywhere she wishes in a certain radius." Kunikida said taking out his notebook and wrote something in there quickly.
Everyone suddenly started talking about how this is an ability, some of them were comforting Bakugo for what just happened while he yelled at them to f*ck off. "So this is the work of an ability! It's so strong, what are the downsides from this? Does it hurt you? I see some coffee beans there, may I ask what's that for?!" a green haired boy started asking questions at light speed to Lucy, he reminded her of Atsushi but a thousand times more annoying which she grimaced at.
"Now, now, leave Lucy-chan alone. I did suggest just putting you all to sleep my knocking you out with gas but our dearest Atsushi and Kenji-kun couldn't stand by and let such a slander happen" Ranpo butted in.
"Lets go, we're already behind the schedule as it is, and if we're any later I'll have to miss the time where I need to check on Dazai for the 4'th time today." The blond male said and walked to the door and opened it. The students didn't know what they should've expected, maybe a run down city with miserable people? But the sight they saw shattered their view on how it would be, including the teacher's as well. It was lush, the air had some sort of calm buzz to it as children ran up the streets laughing while their parents talked to one another with a pleasant smile. Trees and flowers were planted quite a lot and there were many a variety of shops with customers flooding in and out. They all looked so...happy.
"What is this?! I thought Yokohama was filled with criminals and the people being all depressed!" A boy with yellow hair and a black stripe exclaimed, the others seemed to agree with him as they looked around in bemusement.
Ranpo just grinned at them as the threw his arms in the air and declared "Welcome to the city of Yokohama!"
They all walked back to the ADA, upon arriving Lucy said she's still on her shift and went inside. The others entered and were greeted by kind old man. "Ah welcome there. You all must be the new people that came to visit. I hope Lucy here hasn't been too much of a trouble, she means good despite her rude persona"
"Is this a cafe...?" Mina chirped up looking around "Its so pretty and calm, I never thought Yokohama would be so beautiful"
The man chuckled at her comment as he brew some coffee "Well it seems we have quite a reputation to the outside now", "You got that right old man!" Lucy's voice was heard from behind as she came back out in an apron. "Now if you ain't gonna bye something then scram."
The students didn't know how to respond as most times people acted nice to them because they're part of UA, even Aizawa wasn't used to this slander from, basically, a stranger.
"Lets get going. Thanks for your help again Lucy", "No problem Kunikida-san, say Atsushi-kun's on a mission with Kyouka-chan right?".
"Mhm, I'll tell him to pick up his order don't worry Lucy-chan~" Ranpo said then started to walk up the stairs.
"Lets go now, out office is at the top, besides the boss wants to meet you." Kunikida shortly followed Ranpo with the group tailing behind him.
They entered the office and immediately a man covered in bandages and a beige coloured trench coat leached onto Kunikida, "Kunikida-dono help me! Yosano-san said its my turn to 'help' with her surgery and Atsushi-kun isn't here to take my place! Do you know when he'll be back"
"Get of me you waste of bandages! And no, I don't know when Atsushi will be back but it'll either be soon or a long time considering that Kyouka is with him" The blond male pushed the man of him and patted down his clothes, "besides you can't have Atsushi take your place whenever its your turn."
"Sorry but can we get down to business now?" Aizawa once again interfered. Pushing up his glasses Kunikida replied "Yes of course. Boss is a bit busy at the moment so he will greet you in a few minutes. In the meantime please make yourself comfortable and feel free to ask questions. After the talk will the boss I will explain how this will work."
Midoriya pipped up "Where do we leave our bags then?" Kunikida took a look at their bags and raising an eyebrow at how large they are. You will be staying in the rooms above, you will be split into groups with one of the members being your guide. I was planning to wait untill I've told the room but seeing your bags I guess it can't be helped. Here are the papers of what groups you will be in and who is in charge of you." he explained as he handed out papers to each student and the teacher.
Group A - Midoriya, Todoroki and Uraraka - Dazai and Kunikida
Group B - Tsuyu, Kaminari, Jirou and Kirishima - Yosano and Fukuzawa (naomi takes fukuzawa's place when he's busy)
Group C - Bakugo, Monoma and Shinsou - Atsushi and Ranpo (Kyouko as a bonus with Atsushi)
Group D - Momo, Mina, Iida and Tokoyami - Kenji and Tanizaki.
"Ha! I'm with Atsushi, suck it Dazai!" Ranpo suddenly cried out after they both read the papers with a smug grin. "Wait no! Ranpo-san please lets switch I'll buy you sweets!" the brunette called out. "Nuh-uh, besides Atsushi-kun will buy them for me so you can't bribe me this time" he raven haired smirked at the defeating sigh of the other man. "At least I have Kunikida-kun~", "Shut up dazai, you will most definitely ruin my plans."
The students looked at this encounter, these were the people that were going to protect them? They acted like children, there's no way they could protect them, if anything they would need the protecting. And who is this Atsushi? They all seem so fond of him, although they don't know what to expect, seeing how they are assigned with whoever they think is most suitable with the group this Atsushi might be quite rude.
Notes:
I sort of waffled here at the start so I apologise for that.
Chapter 3: Breakout
Chapter Text
Atsushi was walking back from his mission hand-in-hand with Kyouka. It was a simple case, weirdly similar to the first one he encountered with Ranpo-san.
On their way back Kyouka suddenly stopped and looked at an ice-cream vendor, the silver haired boy followed her gaze and chuckled, "Do you want one Kyouka-chan?" They boy asked with a warm smile. In response the doll like girl nodded and they both went to the vendor.
Unsurprisingly, Kyouka has quite the sweet tooth so Atsushi likes to buy her sweet things when they go out, ice-cream being one of them.
While Kyouka was choosing what to get Atsushi thought it was only appropriate that he gets some for the other Agency members, maybe as a thank you. Honestly the amount of times he bought them things as a 'thank you for taking me in', well, lets say its very often.
When purchasing the dessert Atsushi remembered something, "Kyouka-chan, isn't today the day where the outsiders visit?" he asked as he gave the money to the person and they both started to walk back.
"It is Atsushi-san, why are you asking?" the girl replied with her usual deadpan expression, yet it always seems more lightened and more like the 14 year old she should be when around him.
"Just wondering, we should probably hurry back then, besides if we stay out too long the ice-cream will melt" he said as he lent out his free hand for her to hold on, the girl took it and started to walk back to the agency in comfortable silence.
Anyone watching would have thought they have been friends for a lifetime or they're actual siblings, however only those two can understand the depth of their bond despite only having met each other for less than a year.
Back at the agency it was weirdly calm...for the members at least.
Aizawa was certain that his problem children were the worst anyone could handle, but after seeing this group, they almost seem calm in comparison
A few of the students were talking to the agency members, Midoriya, Uraraka and Iida were listening to Kenji about Yokohama while Midoriya kept asking questions about the city and his ability. However as he was going to write down about his ability Dazai did a quick swipe of his book.
"Now, now~, you need to ask before you can write down about someone, it's quite rude and Kenji-kun doesn't seem too happy about your actions either." He waved the book around as he spoke before throwing it back to the boy who seemed like he was going to cry with his face red from embarrassment.
He looks like a tomato, basically everyone in the agency thought so, even some of his classmates. He muttered a quick sorry while the round faced girl looked at Dazai "Deku-kun was just curious, there's no need for you to do something like that. Besides we're heroes in training at the most prestigious school so you gotta be respectful", she remarked at him.
You could here a few stifled laughs being stopped, this made the hero students feel more angered and ashamed, "Yosano-sensei, please don't laugh at them. They're only 15" Kenji said to the woman as she replied "That doesn't excuse their actions tho dear, although seeing how they are maybe they could be of assistance during my surgeries, what do you say, hmm~".
At the sound of this a few members stilled as Tanizaki gave an awkward laugh as he slowly nudged her away, "Maybe another day, lets leave them for now, besides it's Dazai-san's turn so it won't be fair right!" as they both exited all except Ranpo sighed out of relief, "Tanizaki-san is amazing isn't he!" Kenji exclaimed. "He truly is...I hope he'll be alright by the time he comes out" in a silly yet amazed and concerned voice.
"Don't just ignore us, apologise to deku!" Uraraka suddenly exclaimed cheeks red from anger and embarrassment at how little they cared, how could these people protect us, they don't even seem to care. besides all they're gonna protect us from is probably a robber, their detectives so why did Principal Nezu entrust us with them!
Ranpo just turned in their direction with a lollipop in his mouth, "For a bunch of future heroes you don't even seem to have manners, Kyouka-chan acted much nicer then all of you, and that's saying something". The purple haired kid that was just sitting on the sofa quietly raised an eyebrow at this. I wonder what he meant.. also why are his eyes always closed? I've never seen him open it yet.
While this was all happening, Aizawa was in Fukazawa's office talking about this ordeal.
"Aizawa Shota, nice to meet you" the black haired man said .
"Fukuzawa Yukichi" The older man replied in an authoritative voice as he sat down in his own. Aizawa took in his surroundings, it was a comfortable office with two sofas in front of the desk with a coffee table between them, on the farther opposite of the room was an area that was elevated a bit with small blossom sapling behind a poster and between two ground seats. "Take a seat and we can begin our discussion" Fukuzawa said as he sat down on one of the sofas, Aizawa just nodded in response and took his seat opposite to him. A sudden thought came to his mind when he did so, "do you mind if I go and tell my students to settle into their rooms above this first. Might save us both time". Fukuzawa looked at him for a few moments then nodded "Do as you please.".
Aizawa then got up and opened the door, this caused all of his students to look at him. "That was awfully quick sensei, it hasn't even been a minute" Momo commented at the sight of her teacher. "We haven't gotten to the part of our discussion, I juts came out to tell you all to go to your respective rooms and settle in." As if on cue, Yosano came in with a yawn as she fixed her gloves, "Oh you guys are still here? Well seeing this maybe one of you could be of assistance-" she was cut of when Tanizaki came in slumped yet shining "Yosano-sensei please..." he walked over to his desk and dropped his head there.
"Well actually we were just going to our rooms, sorry we couldn't help with your..surgery miss, besides we're not trained for it either I doubt we could be any help" Jirou said wondering what exactly happened to Tanizaki.
"What a shame, can't be helped I guess, when your done you can go visit the café below." Yosano sighed then remembered "Dazai, wasn't Atsushi-kun with Kyouka-chan today for a mission? Have they arrived yet? I need help with shopping and it wont be fair on Tanizaki and I personally don't want to go with the rest of you." "Yosano-san please don't remind me of my everlasting wait for Atsushi~"
The students watched this interaction as they picked up their bags and started heading up. "Say, who do you think this Atsushi is? They seem fond of him?" Denki pipped up "I don't know, lets discuss it later in the cafe" Shinsou said
They arrived and immediately seperated. There were three different rooms, one for females, one fore males and the last one for other. No one was non-binary or anything so the boys decided to take that room as well. After putting their stuff away and changing they all went downstairs to the cafe. There were quite a few people there as they sat in some empty seats.
"So can we talk about who Atsushi could be?" Tokoyami asked as he saw some weird looks from the customers. "I don't know but I bet he's equally rude and annoying as the others, besides he's meant to be able to handle Bakugo, Monoma and Shinsou so he probably would match them." Uraraka said quite bitterly, still upset by the other agency's 'rudeness' towards them.
"Kacchan what do you think so far! That girl that works here is super powerful she even managed to apprehend you, she could easily be a hero, I wonder why she's working at a café?" Midoriya trailed of as Bakugo just snapped at him "Shut up Deku! Also how many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that, for someone who wants to be a hero your still so childish and useless, why won't you listen to me eh?!"
"Yea but you would've regretted if I did as you said in middle school though, or maybe you wouldn't've seeing how you basically tried to kill me on our first activity when I didn't do it." Deku suddenly snapped back tears forming.
At this everyone stilled
"Bakubro you said what to Dekubro!?", "I can't believe this either, why would you say such a thing to Deku-kun!", "That's definitely not hero like!", "That's just f*cked up man!".
Midoriya stifled when he realised what he just said, "wait Kacchan I didn't mean to-", "Oh save it, the damage is done and I'm not denying it either."
Almost everyone glared at Bakugo as Midoriya was looking down with Uraraka comforting him as well as giving glares, meanwhile Monoma seemed to look almost amused while Shinsou doesn't seem to care much but was certainly intrigued.
At this Bakugo just got up and started to walk back to their room before Todoroki grabbed him by them arm, some of the students (Midoriya) gave a small yelp at the scene, Todoroki just glared at before whispering "don't ever come near us again."
With that he let go as Bakugo just looked at them, his expressions unchanging as he walked away.
The others were still in disbelief at this new information.
"I can't believe this.." Tsuyu said, as they were sitting there in silence Monoma and Shinsou just got up, "I'm not interested in all this drama now, and in my opinion, you guys are making such a fuss over it. Maybe take a look around". With that both of them left with a similar glare following them from their peers until they got out of sight.
"See what I mean, I bet that Atsushi guy is an as*hole like them as well. That's why he's assigned with them, and that man that has his eyes closed. He's so rude, how could they treat us like this!" Uraraka said bitingly.
At this mention, Lucy suddenly came and slammed a tray with glasses of water that sprayed on some students. "Here's your water, kindly drown in it please" she said with a cold tone.
"Excuse me, what!" Momo said quite visibly appalled.
"Well seeing how you're sh*t talking Atsushi and disturbing other customers with your whining I think it's fair. So like I said before, if you're not getting anything, then scam." She glared at them.
The other students then looked around and saw some other customers quite evidently annoyed, even the nice, calm old man that runs the shop who seemed like a person where nothing could anger him had a frown at his face towards the groups. Midoriya managed to hiccup a quite quiet apology as the others just gave an apologetic smile and started to leave and go back upstairs.
Lucy just rolled her eyes at the display.
What a bunch of stupid weaklings. So angry at that one phrase years ago, I wonder how'd they'll even survive here a day.
Chapter 4: All of the agency together
Notes:
I’m writing this at 5 in the morning on my phone so I’m sorry if this didn’t turn out as good. I’ll make I up I promise
Chapter Text
After the incident of Midoriya and Bakugo’s past revealed they decided to change the rooms.
No one except his group seemed to interact with him so they made him and the other two stay in the ‘other’ room as they moved their stuff from there.
Currently, they’re all just sitting on their respective beds in their rooms except for Midoriya who had a few people with him comforting him and what happened.
“So did you really tell him to kill himself then?” Monoma remarked laying on his bed.
“I admitted to it and you heard it. I know I was an as*hole. Besides this ain’t your business copycat.” Bakugo sharply replied.
“When was this again? It seems pretty recent from how they were reacting and I wasn’t paying much attention anyway” Monoma asked again.
“It wasn’t anytime recent…middle school. I had a massive ego then and didn’t take in the consequences of my actions might come to bite me.” Bakugo said with a weirdly calm tone, like he was thinking with a clear head.
Shinsou whistled at this. “I wasn’t listening much either so I also expected it to be quite recent. I mean their reactions certainly gave that impression”
”that’s still pretty messed up tho. Class 1A, the heroes that tell others to kill themselves” Monoma smirked at that but quickly wiped it off.
”Shut up! I know better than anyone how horrible I was then. I let my ego and others’ praises go over my head all cause of a powerful quirk. I’m sick of people telling me how awful I was in middle school” Bakugo snapped and yelled at them.
In the other rooms, you could faintly hear Bakugo’s shouts. They weren’t able to make out what it was nor did they care much. He’s probably saying it’s not his fault and that Deku deserves those things said to him. What an as*hole…
Midoriya just sniffled again from all the crying that took place. Most of the class was around him as Uraraka sat next to him while comforting as he cried. “I don’t even know what I did wrong…I just wanted to be friends yet he- a-always puts me d-down because I was a l-late bloomer”
“It’s alright Deku-kun…Todoroki-kun made sure that he won’t be able to come near you ever again.
Todoroki just nodded in response standing near him.
“It will be ok Mido-bro don’t worry. Remember you can always talk to us when you need to” Kirishima suddenly added.
Midoriya nodded and gave a small smile “I’m grateful to finally have friends like you guys”.
Atsushi and Kyouko finally got back to the agency. As they walked in the shop many people there greeted him with a warm smile. He’s become a well-known person in his city due to his kindness and help. He smiled and waved back and saw Lucy come up towards him.
“Hey don’t forget your cake. I had to put it in Ane-san’s room so that it doesn’t go stale by the time you come. So be faster next time or you might get a stale cake.” She handed him a white plastic bag with a large box in it.
“Ah I’m so sorry Lucy-chan I’ll remember to arrive faster next time!” Atsushi took the cake and bowed in apology.
At this Lucy got flustered with her face turning a lighter shade of red than her hair “S-shut up! It’s my break now so I don’t wanna waste my time on you!” She said with her head down and her arms on her hips.
Atsushi chuckled and then asked, “I bought some ice-cream do you want any?” The red-haired girl just nodded and Atsushi gave her an ice-cream from his bag.
“Kyouka-chan, can you please take this bag upstairs to the rest of the agency? I’m just going to talk with Lucy a bit more.” He asked with a soft voice that could make any cold-hearted person melt. She nodded and with the bag in her hands she made her way upstairs.
Lucy looked at Atsushi for a few moments before sighing. "What is it? and make it quick I told you I'm on break."
"I just wanted to ask if the outsiders have arrived yet," Atsushi asked with an apologetic smile.
"Ugh, they did, and don't remind me of them again. I'm gonna go now, better give those ices before they melt." Lucy said then she waved off and left the café.
Atsushi waved back wondering what she meant by that but shrugged it of and started walking upstairs.
As soon as he got up there his mentor latched onto him, similar to how he did with Kunikida but more tighter and comfortable. "Atsushi-kun~ I missed you, oh what's that? Is it for me?" Dazai said as he looked at the bag of Ice-cream and cake he had in hand.
"Oh yes! I got everyone their favorite ice-cream, or what I thought it was at least...hehe, I labeled them just in case as well so come and get it if you want." he gave a nervous chuckle as he placed the ice-cream bag on a desk.
Almost everyone shot like a bullet towards the table. Ranpo was the fastest despite being the furthest away, he picked up a small tub of strawberry soft ice-cream. His eyes slightly widened at it, then quickly replaced with a cheesy smile "Hehe, how'd you know this is my favorite? Did the greatest detective rub of you at the end?" he joked as he opened the lid and started eating it with a spoon that was, for some reason, in his coat pocket.
Yosano and Dazai had an almost similar dark chocolate with Dazai's being a little sweeter. "Thanks Atsu! I'm surprised you knew." Yosano said with a smile while Dazai just nodded with his mouth already stuffed with the ice-cream.
Kenji got a milky ice-lolly and he adored it, mostly cause of the cows on the cover but he enjoyed it nonetheless, "Thank you Atsushi-san!" he said with a smile so bright Atsushi thought he had to wear sunglasses to protect his eyes.
Kunikida took a small box of pistachio ice-cream, gave Atsushi a nod and smile as gratitude, and went back to his work after placing it in the fridge in the agency.
Both the Tanizakis each received an ice-cream that was covered in a chocolate coating with a smooth, soft vanilla ice-cream inside. While the younger sibling was feeding her older brother her friend, Haruno, picked a small tub that was filled with cookie and cream ice-cream. She smiled and thanked Atsushi who said it was no big deal.
"So~ Atsushi-kun, what's the cake for?" Dazai said in his usual annoying voice while grinning and eyeing the cake he bought from Lucy.
"Sorry Dazai-san, but I bought this cake for the group I'll be working with. I'll buy you something else later." Atsushi apologized with a smile.
"Don't apologize Atsushi. Dazai-san can buy his own cake" Kyouka suddenly spoke up, standing behind Atsushi with a glare at Dazai who returned it with his signature creepy smile as a bonus.
Kunikida and Tanizaki just sighed while Yosano chuckled at the sight while throwing away the ice-cream box.
Dazai pouted and looked quite (jokingly) disappointed as Ranpo’s eyes lit up.
Seeing this Atsushi giggled. “Now Kyouka-chan don’t be so mean, also it seems I’ll be paired up with you to guide the students Ranpo-san. I’m quite happy” Atsushi gave such a warm bright smile it made some members wonder for a second if he had another ability that makes him so bright.
Fukuzawa and Aizawa were having quite a pleasant conversation. At first, it started with business, ‘Can you guarantee our safety?’ ‘We can’t 100%, however, we will give our 100%’.
Then it somehow led into a conversation about dealing with their children's figures and then cats.
Aizawa didn’t take the elder man to be a cat person or to be an animal person at all, yet to his pleasant surprise he was. He once told him how his second youngest member, Kenji, brought a mountain lion thinking it was just a bigger cat.
This intrigued Aizawa and made him sort of grateful that his students were quite well-behaved compared to the ones he was listening to. He didn’t know whether to be impressed by how he was holding up or worried for him but decided to push those thoughts away.
After all that they finally came out of his office.
Aizawa’s eyes immediately drifted to the agency members around two new people. Seeing how they all seemed fond of them he assumed they must be the remaining members.
Atsushi felt the man's presence as his eyes moved to the side to see him.
Seeing the boy Aizawa couldn't take his eyes off him. He wasn't particularly handsome, he was more like a pretty boy, he had a horrible haircut that somehow seemed to fit him, and he seemed to be skinny as well. Aizawa noted that a few of the people here seemed to be thinner than usual, yet this boy was probably the thinnest he's seen. There were a few evident scars as well, some seemed recent while others looked like they had been there on him since the beginning of time.
Yet after seeing all of these flaws he couldn't seem to find anything that diminishes his beauty. The most evident were those eyes.
Segmental heterochromia. Aizawa thought as he looked at those eyes. They were purple at the top half of his iris with a yellow curve like consisting most of the bottom half. They shone with such bright light Aizawa was unsure whether he had anything ever gone wrong. It seemed like he never experienced the harsh side of the world which gave him a sense of admiration and a slight tang of jealousy which he hated himself for feeling.
Atsushi smiled at the man making him contemplate which sun was the right one.
The bandaged man said something to Atsushi and he replied. It was quite impressive, when you walk in the room almost everyone is loud and you can hear chatter, yet when you try to focus on something someone is saying to another, you aren't able to, it's almost like it's encrypted and the only way to break it is when they actively talk towards you or you're in the discussion, or if you were close to them.
After their conversation, the silver-haired boy walked towards Aizawa. "Hello there, my name is Nakajima Atsushi. I'm part of the agency along with the other girl, Kyouka Izumi. I apologize we weren't able to meet you when you arrived." He bowed and gave another smile. It was so full of warmth without a hint of resentment.
Aizawa just nodded. "Call me Aizawa or Eraserhead. Whatever you prefer." Aizawa had to be honest, this is not what he thought the person in charge of the most problematic people in UA would be like. He seemed too naïve, how could he handle them? Ranpo seemed to have some sort of ability to talk back when they wrong him, this boy looked like the kind to just accept them and not do anything.
He reminded him of Midoriya, but more... mature and possibly less annoying.
Kunikida then tapped on Atsushi’s shoulder which gave him a jump. Aizawa did not ignore that and raised his eyebrow slightly but kept his expression under control.
“Sorry Atsushi but I need you to check the plans you will be doing with your group. I want to give it in advance in case you feel like you want to make changes. Come to me when you do” He spoke in a calm voice that seemed softer than how he spoke towards Aizawa or the other students.
He gave a folder to Atsushi "Oh thank you Kunikida-san. Also sorry about that jump earlier" Atsushi said.
"That's fine, you've gotten a lot better at sudden physical touch so I can say I am proud. Besides this shows your always on high alert which is good. Remember to relax from time to time. I can make a timetable if you want" Kunikida said as he ruffled Atsushi's hair a bit. At this, Atsushi just chuckled a bit sheepishly and nodded.
Bakugo wanted to learn more about this city. He wouldn't admit it but he's all giddy of being in a place where people are stronger than him.
So he decided to go downstairs back to the members to see if he could ask questions about the area and if he was allowed to maybe go out and explore the area.
For some reason, Monoma and Shinsou decided to tag along. It annoyed him but he wasn't in the mood to argue.
When he went downstairs he saw two new people, "Ha? Who are you two?!" he questioned with his usual cocky self.
The people in the room looked at the trio, most just glanced and went back with whatever they were doing. Kyouka was glaring at the boys due to their sudden appearance.
Atsushi looked at the papers he was given about his team then looked back at them and smiled as he walked towards them, Kyouka following behind him silently.
It was subtle but if you were observant enough you could tell the eyes of the agency members have moved so keep Atsushi and Kyouka in their view.
Atsushi stood in front of the three boys who seemed unsure of the current situation as he extended his hand with a gentle smile that seemed to calm down Bakugo as well.
"Hello there, my name is Nakajima Atsushi, I am one of your two guides in Yokohama. I hope we get along."
Chapter 5: So this is Yokohama's power...
Notes:
Btw if you wanna make videos or posts or anything about my work please feel free! Do tell me when you do and give credits please!
P.S- Fitzgerald likes to visit and go simple shopping with Atsushi cause, yk, they both like sales and bargains. The guild was also well known outside of Yokohama, however people begin to become suspicions and scared when they went inside Yokohama and didn't come out or give any public reports. Also I named the café below the agency Maidens , I'm also going to start referring to Class 1-A and Aizawa as "Outlanders", cause it's easier.

Chapter Text
"Hello there, my name is Nakajima Atsushi, I am one of your two guides in Yokohama. I hope we get along."
Bakugo just blinked at the man trying to understand the situation.
The others behind him seem to have a similar thought process as they just started at the man with confusion mixed with doubt.
Shinsou suddenly spoke up breaking the awkward silence "Are you really the one who is going to take care of us? No offense but you just look.."
"Weak." Bakugo finished the sentence for him. "You look so scrawny what can you do?" He further remarked at the silver-haired man.
Bakugo was immediately able to sense more glares at him, usually, he would shrug them off but this time it made him weirdly uncomfortable. Even when he tried to look at those who were looking at him but it was so subtle that he wasn't able to tell if they were actually looking at him or it's just a stupid feeling he has.
Atsushi just chuckled at his comment which confused the trio, Why is he laughing? He just got called skinny and weak-looking.
"I'll take it as a compliment thank you!" Atsushi said at their confused faces, "Think of it this way, because I seem so weak looking people will underestimate me. Or at least you will, Yokohama doesn't really try to base how strong someone is based on looks" he explained.
"Huh?! That makes no sense, if someone's strong then they look strong, and vise-versa" Monoma commented seemingly a little annoyed and confused despite Atsushi's explanation.
"It makes perfect sense, you all are just too tunnel viewed to understand our complex and intelligent mindset" Ranpo interrupted with his cocky attitude.
"Ranpo-san, please be nicer to them.." Atsushi sighed with a pleading smile. Ranpo just waved him off muttering a fine under his breath that only Atsushi and the ones around his could hear.
"Oh thank you Ranpo-san." Atsushi smiled then turned back at the still confused trio. "So basically, in your cities, it might seem like stronger people are more muscly, bigger or have showy things on them. In Yokohama, none of those matters, for example, Kenji-kun is the strongest in terms of brute force yet he seems to be the most harmless looking person. We don't want people to know we're strong, because this will make others alert, we want to catch the criminals of guard." he further explained.
The students looked at him quite dumbfounded at this information. Shinsou was quick to process the information. He seemed the least shocked at this information compared to the other two.
"I see. You're basically saying you're strong then?" the purpled-haired man asked. In response, Atsushi just gave him a chuckle.
"It depends on how you consider someone to be strong. For example, I consider Ranpo-san to be incredibly strong yet in an actual hand-to-hand battle with no tricks or anything, I would most likely beat him. No offence Ranpo-san!" Atsushi then called out to the raven-haired man who just grinned back. "No problem! You owe me snacks for that tho!" "Haha, no problem!"
Bakugo snickered at Atsushi, "If you are strong then prove it. Fight me." he remarked with his usual smug attitude.
Oh, but poor Bakugo should have seen the signs when he said that as in a few moments at the start of their fight, he was cornered with a tiger's claw at his neck that transformed back into a soft, warm hand that offered him help to stand back up.
Surprisingly Bakugo took his hand and got up. This was because he acknowledged his strength, he now has a new found respect towards this man that developed in less than 10 minutes.
When Atsushi held out his hand it gave Bakugo sudden flashbacks of his past, when he fell into a river and Midoriya came to help him. It was insulting at the time, he still thinks so.
You see Bakugo actually is quite good at reading people he has interacted with. He makes is quirk and it's power known then he silently follows them for a while to see how they act. This is partially the reason he acts so high and mighty towards the weak, influence. Midoriya was hard for him to read, his actions were unpredictable and reckless and he hated him for that. For someone so clever why doesn't he use that knowledge..weak.. So he distanced him away from the green-haired boy, but he never understood his actions. This made Bakugo despise him even more everyday. When Midoriya held out his hand he expected Bakugo to be weak, it was an insult, indirect but still an insult
However this time was different. When this man held out his hand it wasn't like that, it was more accepting, like he recognized his strength and praised him of it.
So
he gladly took his hand.
Monoma whistled at the fight as Shinsou looked with an interest in his eyes. Even Aizawa who was watching the fight was impressed, you could hardly tell by his look, but it wasn't completely unnoticeable, especially for the agency members. "That was a good fight, now Atsushi I need help with finishing this report then you can have the rest of the day with your group, and yes, it includes you too Ranpo and Kyouka." Kunikida said as he pushed his glasses up and made his way back inside. At this most of the agency and Aizawa that came out to watch the fight went back inside. The remaining were Kenji, he was looking at a tree with a bird's nest, Dazai, Ranpo, Yosano and Atsushi.
"Good job, I can see you've been practicing a lot." Yosano said as she ruffled his hair, "Yea nice work Atsushi, you really put him in his place there," Dazai said with his carefree attitude as he gave the boy a pat on the back.
"Come on Kenji, lets go back in," Yosano called as she and Dazai started making their way back inside. Kenji just nodded as he waved bye at the birds he was watching and happily jumped inside.
As they went inside Kyouka suddenly came out holding the files Atsushi was given by Kunikida for his schedule for his group. Atsushi waved towards her and did a small jog to her.
"Hello Kyouka-chan, I was just doing a small sparring match with the others, you just missed it. Anyways is there anything you need?" He asked with a smile as buttoned up his sleeve and adjusted his socks and shoes after his transformation.
Kyouka just nodded at his response with her usual expressionless façade. "Kunikida-san asked me to find you so that you can make adjustments on the schedule if needed as he needs the new one quickly."
"Well let me see, oh and sorry you had to look for me." He said as he took the folder and opened it and scanned through the files.
Monoma noticed how Atsushi's eyes changed, the yellow part now covered most of it with splashes? of the purple hue left. His pupils were more dilated as well, like a cats'.
Shinsou seemed to have noticed too as he spoke up, "Nakajima-san, how come your eyes are different now?"
"Oh, this is the tiger's eyes', its much more easier when I read long documents as its more clearer and I can read everything much better and faster. I don't use too much of it as reading documents doesn't need so much power as I use to read a lot anyways when I was younger, that's because in the-" Atsushi was suddenly cut of by Ranpo who appeared at his side and gave a small jab with his elbow. At this Atsushi realized he started to ramble, it was a bad habit of his that he's either very quiet or very noticeable.
"Ah, sorry I didn't realize I just started to talk so much." He said with a bow, "anyways Kyouka-chan, is it alright for you four to stay together for a while? I want to discuss some changes with Ranpo-san about the schedule. Only if that's also alright with you three"
"Tch, whatever," Bakugo snarled, much less aggressive than before, maybe it was because of his new respect for the white-haired man. The others just nodded with Kyouka giving a small smile to Atsushi as if to say Don't worry. I can handle if something goes wrong. This made Monoma raise an eyebrow as he didn't really think the girl was capable of using her facial muscles in such a way. There was something interesting about Atsushi that seems to complete the people in the Agency.
"Thank you so much. We won't be long ok? Ranpo-san do you want to discuss it over Maidens". At this Ranpo grinned at him once again. "You know it, and since I'm in such a good mood I'll pay for anything you get as well Atsushi" "Wah~! Really?! Ranpo-san really is the best!"
Although the Silver-haired man seemed most mature he was still quite childish at times. It was similar to Ranpo's. He acted like this when he was being praised or treated nicely, like how a child would. This made Bakugo suspect there was more to this man. He definitely had something in his past, everyone here did, not even that young blond boy who was younger than him seemed to be spared.
Is Yokohama really safe for people here?
back in Midoriya's room they decided to go downstairs as well after his breakdown.
He was still sniffling as the group went downstairs. Before they left they decided to knock on the other's door, maybe to ask if they wanted to join them. Although Midoriya was the only that wanted them to join, and even he was still quite hesitant.
Knock Knock....
No answer. They found the door to be unlocked so they decided to open it, but there wasn't anyone is there.
"I told you we should have just left them." Todoroki said bitterly as he turned around, "I agree this is just a waste of time," Uraraka commented, joining Todoroki.
"Guys... please... I know what happened but it's better to try and inform them that we're going." Midoriya squeaked, trying to defend them.
"It's not like they did. Why should we even care? Deku you're too good for your own good, you need to be more harsh at him. What he said was disgusting!" Mina said harshly.
"Well... it’s still nice, and what if something happened when we left?...They won't know where to get us..." Midoriya said weakly.
Most of the other's seem to have a sour face but just kept silent and started going downstairs.
When they arrived they were quite displeased to say the least when Bakugo and his group was there. More over he was talking all nicely to some weak looking girl, you can even see the start of a smile, a genuine smile.
Tch, what a fake.
Bakugo heard the group and saw them looking at him, only Midoriya wasn't looking at him with hatred, however that doesn't mean there's a nice expression. He just looked at them, he wanted to yell, tell them to leave him alone. He admitted he was wrong and said to keep their distance and not bother him, so why are they still there. He just sighed and turned his head back. Besides, he probably deserves it.
Dazai was aware of the whole situation, so he decided to have a little fun, cause doubt? make them confused? whatever the outcome was, he has already predicted it, and it seems it went all according to his plan as he grinned.
"So~" he said as he swivelled over to the 4 with on his chair as he leaned towards them, "Bakugo wasn't it?" he asked, Bakugo wasn't an idiot, far from it actually, so he knew immediately something was up, but he decided to play along as he didn't know what it was.
"Yea, why're you asking." He said harshly, but not nearly as enough as before, this shocked the other students, minus his group. They didn't clearly show it on their faces tho.
"Well, I saw your fight with our dear Atsushi, gotta hand it to you, I was slightly impressed, you held out for what? 15 seconds? 20? Although he was taking it easy most people would have toppled over in half the time you held out. So~ what are your thoughts on him them" he said with his usual carefree attitude that seemed to tick of the other group of students.
Good
Hearing this the others were incredibly surprised, he was the second or first strongest in their class, and someone beat him in 20 seconds.
What more is that Bakugo didn't seem to be fazed by this. Usually he gets pissed at everything, he was the type of guy who thought someone was looking down on him if they stared at him for too long.
Bakugo on the other hand seemed to think about this for a while, which was also unusual as he just says something like 'Weak', "He's really strong, he was also very nice and considerate and seemed the most mature and understanding, not to mention he's smart."
Dazai smirked at his response "Well, I do expect that from Atsushi now, besides as my student I have high expectations though he's exceeded them all." Dazai then sighs, his demeanour seemed to change for a few moments as he muttered "If only he accepts that", and like the flick of a switch he turned back to his old, carefree self.
The others stood there dumbfounded. Did... Bakugo just compliment someone? And say that they were stronger then him!
Dazai saw their reactions and gave his signature accomplished grin.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it!" Kenji optimistically said as he skipped to the door and opened it.
"Tecchou-san! Hello!" Kenji remarked gleefully as the man nodded. "I've finally got some free time, I needed to make Jouno would be alright before I left, and I needed to make a few arrangements for some upcoming meetings with outer sees that included the other hunting dogs, it's hard trying to find everyone's preferences."
At this arrival everyone looked up at him, most of the agency just flashed a smile and went back to their work as the students and Aizawa looked there dumbfounded.
"Wait! You're The Tecchou, The Strongest Hunting Dog!" Mina said, the other's expressions showed they probably thought the same.
"Yes I am. Unfortunately if there's a dispute I won't be able to help because I'm off duty, so unless it's important or someone important asked me to, I will be putting my hang-out time with Kenji over justice for the duration." He replied with his usual deadpan expression.
"Oh Tecchou-san there's no need! If there's a problem we should always help out!" Kenji replied happily.
Right now there was only one thought going through the Outlander's head.
What is actually happening right now...!

Chapter 6: This is Atsushi?
Chapter Text
"So, Kenji-san, who are these intruders, I don't recall ever seeing them around in Yokohama" Tecchou said, eyeing the outlanders, palm resting on his sword handle, ready to strike at any wrong move.
"These are the outsiders I said that'll come today!" Kenji replied innocently with his bright smile. Tecchou just sighed as he put his hand away. "Very well, would you like to go now?" he said with a soft voice and a hint of a smile.
"If that's the case, why don't we take our group then?" Tanizaki suggested, just finished recovering from Yosano's treatment and looking much more livelier.
"Okay! Is that alright Tecchou-san? We do have to take our group sometime today." Kenji said as Tecchou just nodded in response.
"Well the, why don't we all go out then? It'll be much more fun~" Dazai said cheerfully as Kunikida side-eyed him out of suspicion. What was this man up to now? He sighed and got up. "Why not, is that alright with you president?" he asked Fukuzawa.
"Hmm.." he replied, "it would be a good experience before splitting up. I do have some errands to run so I may be able to do them while we guide the others".
"Understood President, Ranpo and Atsushi are downstairs in the café, should I go and inform them?" Kunikida asked, however when he did there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it" Naomi said as she walked over to the door. Her walk was quite and smooth, like she was hovering over the ground as she floated over to the door. As she opened the door she took several steps back quickly in a second, like she was backing away from potential danger.
"Why'd you lock the door?" Ranpo exclaimed as he burst through the room.
"Why didn't you use your key then?" Kyouka said with a possible hint of sarcasm as she tried to look behind him for a certain someone, "Also where's Atsushi?".
"That's because, my dear Kyouka-chan, I forgot it" Ranpo ginned as he strode across the room to his seat, "Also Atsushi-kun needed to go somewhere for a few minutes cause there's this person that needed help moving stuff in not that far away so he went to offer his services."
At this Kyouka seemed almost bummed out, but you could hardly tell. "It cannot be helped. I'll just text him the plans and for him to call me when he's done with his work so we can meet up and continue our guide," she said as she typed something quickly on her phone that was hanging around her neck in one swift motion, that if you blinked you might have missed it.
"Done".
The group that was hanging with her and the rest of the Agency as well as Aizawa has, sort of, gotten used to these motions, but not the ones that just joined.
"Woah that was quick! How did you do that? Was it your quirk? or an ability? Does it relate with speed?" Deku immediately started to ask questions with his book open.
At this Bakugo just rolled his eyes which earned him a few stares as Kyouka narrowed her eyes and furrowed her eyebrows ever so slightly with his bombardment of questions which was a clear sign she's annoyed.
She just stayed silent while staring at Midoriya clearly not willing to answer the questions, Midoriya, not getting the hint properly at first nor remembering what Dazai first told him about asking consent just looked back and forth nervously awaiting the answers that would most likely never arrive. After a minute of the green haired boy shifting uncomfortably while he waited for some sort of explanation Momo intercepted.
"Umm... Deku-kun, maybe she doesn't want to answer now?...Why don't we leave them alone for now?...". She said nervously with a smile clearly trying to diffuse the situation.
Shinsou just let out a sign and laid back on the couch he was sitting on, who seemed to be lost in his thoughts. Monoma just tsked at this and looked back at Kyouka. "So.. Is Atsushi-san on his way yet? I want to explore." he said clearly bored at what's happening not wanting to be intertwined in the drama happening.
That doesn't mean he doesn't want to witness it.
Kyouka picked up and opened her phone to check for any new messages from Atsushi, and as if on command a message from him popped up reading:
"Hello Kyouka-chan. Sorry for running late I promise I will be there in a few minutes, I got caught up with a runaway bomber and I'm texting you this as I'm chasing them. Meanwhile can you submit the edited version of our plans and add anything we're doing unless Ranpo-san has already done it. Thank you!"
After reading this Kyouka shut her phone with a slight sigh. "Atsushi-san said he would be here in a few more minutes, he got caught up with a runaway bomber. So Ranpo-san?" she asked looking at the man's direction.
"Oh I've actually forgotten to add stuff and all to it that y'all discussed so here you go~" He replied with his self-adored voice as he continued to munch on another packet of crisp while reading a file about a homicide case.
"Very well". She replied as she got up and picked up the file and went over to a desk with a computer that was all ordered neatly and cutely decorated with bunny and white tiger stickers. She sat on her seat and started typing at a speed that Aizawa has only seen by Nezu when he pressed seemingly random buttons on his desk.
"Wait wait wait! Did you say he was chasing a runaway bomber! Is he insane!" Mina and Kaminari exclaimed at the same time as most of the others seemed to wonder the same thing. The ones that saw his power first hand knows his capabilities yet can't help but be a little sceptical at this.
"It'll be fine, Atsushi-kun is one of the fastest among us and probably the best at apprehending criminals gently while immobilising" Yosano said calmly as she dusted some books on her desk.
"He's really strong as well! Almost as me! So don't worry about him" Kenji said happily as Tecchou nodded in agreement.
"I would say that is an exaggeration Kenji-san, yet I must admit, he is very adaptable and has been making rapid progress steadily", he added, "Or so Jouno told me. I think there can be more training but I haven't seen his training so I'm probably too harsh. I think I'm taking after Jouno."
"Even so, he shouldn't be texting so casually while chasing a bomber! And why are you all acting like its normal!" Iida exclaimed his body more rigid then normal.
""
A sudden buzz came from Kyouka's phone after a few minutes.
"Hey Kyouka-chan, I just finished handing the criminal to the police and I'm on my way, I'll tell you more details of it when I get there. Also has Ranpo-san or you submitted the paper work yet?"
Kyouka, reading this, got up from her seat and went to the printer and took the newly printed papers and went over to Kunikida and left it on his desk then types back to Atsushi "Yes I have."
"He'll be back now" she replied as she went and sat back down next to Bakugo and his group.
A minute passed when there was a knock heard at the door and it opened slightly with a head poking in.
"Hey I'm back!" a gentle voice rang out in the room loud and clear despite the chaos that was happening.
A silver haired boy that, although seemed to be around the student's age, also seemed much older in his eyes. Talking about his eyes, the students that hasn't met him seemed to almost forgot how to breath as those beautiful, gentle, eyes shone as bright as a star, they wondered if there was anything that could compare to them as well as who is this mysterious man. His hair was a silver colour with a black streak on the longer side. They must admit, his haircut was horrible yet it somehow suited him.
"Atsushi-san!" Kyouka said with evident fondness and excitement in her voice. "Welcome back."
Wait, Wait.
This was the Atsushi!?
Chapter 7: First outing in Yokohama!
Notes:
ok so I'll be referring the UA student's by their group when I need to and them plus Aizawa as Outsiders cause it makes more sense and saves me time.

Chapter Text
Wait, What?!
This is Atsushi?!
The other students looked at him a little dumbfounded.
"You're Atsushi?.." Tokoyami uttered, losing his usual dark, calm, composure.
"Umm...yes? Is something wrong?" Atsushi replied with an innocent, confused smile
"But you look so nice?!" Mina spluttered out without thinking, there were evident looks directed at her after that statement.
"Thank...you?" Atsushi said still confused. There were a few snickers heard by Atsushi from the other members thanks to his heightened, tiger hearing. He looked at Dazai who was clearly enjoying this situation. Not even trying to hide it huh? I guess that's Dazai-san for you.
"Atsushi-san." Kyouka said with what seemed like relief in her voice as she seemed to relax a bit to anyone that sees her.
"Oh hello Kyouka-chan! I see you've been nice to our group. I have a small present for you." He said as he look out a small, long box and handed it to her. She took it immediately and opened it. Inside was a silver, locket necklace that had a bunny on it. She held it up as it sparkled in the sunlight as she put it on while keeping a hand over the locket. "It's beautiful... Thank you Atsushi-san." She said almost breathless as this act of kindness.
Atsushi smiled and nodded, "I'm glad Kyouka-chan, I had it specially made so it has a useful function but I'm sure you've already figured it out." Kyouka nodded in response as she looked back in the box as it held another item.
Seeing this a few of the students had a horrified look on the face, which was quite a contrary to Kyouka's bright look as she took the object out.
In her hand was a carefully carved knife as well as a thin wooden, sheath like her original one. The knife gleamed in the sunlight as she twisted it around inspecting it awe, finding out she's able to switch the blades to different types with a clever movement of her hands. "It's wonderful Atsushi. I've always wanted this and my other knife has started to dull to the point it would be more ineffective when I sharpen it. You see-." Kyouka started on her small ramble on knives and how to properly take care of them as well as expressing her gratitude as she realised that a small kit to take care of the knife was under the box.
"Wait, wait! Why are you giving a child a knife like that! And that whole conversation on taking care of knives was, j-just...wrong!-." Kirishima blurted out, his voice mixed with disbelief and, what it seems like, anger.
"I think it's very pretty Mr Atsushi, it matches her Kimono very well." Tecchou said leaning forward to take a better look at the knife. "May I know where you got it from? I think Teruko-san would very much like it, but I need a red one to match her or the efficiency would decrease." He said it with a serious face which made the outsiders doubt if he was joking. I mean obviously he wasn't but they don't know that.
"That's not the problem here!" Uraraka said. Why can't these fools understand!
Poor Kenji didn't get what was wrong however. "What do you mean? Even I know some level of caretaking!"
"That's because your a farmer Kenji-kun, it's not actually common for people to know such level of knowledge over blades." Yosano joined as she ruffled his hair a little, "that doesn't mean its unusual, many people in Yokohama know some level of self-defence, they need to learn how to fight if something happens after all."
"I can't imagine them doing much without a quirk or an ability against someone that does, kero." Tsuyu said, "they're quirkless."
"Yea, like seriously, they're practically useless, so what's the point?" Kaminari suddenly remarked, oblivious to the flinch Midoriya gave when he described them.
"First of all, they are not useless. If you keep up that mindset you will be failed for doom." Kunikida said without even looking away from his monitor as he typed something.
"He's true you know, me and Dazai once managed to beat 'the most powerful ability user', but it's nothing compared to my Ultra deduction." He smirked as he threw away a packet of crisps he just finished and started on a new one.
"Your ability is truly amazing Ranpo-san! Without you I wonder what we would do." Naomi chirped leaving her brother's side, which was odd.
"Anyways, there's also lots of people without abilities that are dangerous than those with one." Dazai snickered and he rotated on his chair trying to distract Kunikida so he doesn't get yelled at to do work.
"Most of our abilities aren't actually suited for combat, mine less so-." Tanizaki tried to contribute before getting cut of by Yosano, "Oh bullsh*t, you nearly killed that bastard of a boss once." Tanizaki tried to deny it humbly by saying things like: 'I needed Kunikida-san's help', and, 'I didn't manage to anyway and needed you and Kyouka-chan to save me at the end'. Oh but to no avail as Yosano started listing times he did, quite exceptionally as well, 'beat up their asses', even Ranpo and Dazai joined in with the others saying one or two things to add.
It was chaotic, sure, but it was warm, Midoriya can't help and smile at this scene. It felt like home.
After the ADA finished they decided to have a tour of the city.
Kunikida noted how Dazai seemed suspiciously excited which was never good, but he let it slide for now.
So after getting ready they all set out for the grand tour. Fukuzawa was unable to accompany them due to a sudden last minute meeting with the officials, Kunikida did offer to join him but he assured the younger man it was nothing too serious and he can handle it on his own, however he was unable to shift the meeting date and thus he had to leave the outsiders in the trust of his employees.
When they left it was around 4:30, Ranpo insisted they left at that time for some reason but the other's didn't question it, it must be important as Ranpo is one that liked to delay things.
They walked around nearby first, showing streets and their names as well as the way to get back to the Agency's building if they forgot their way when walking without being accompanied by a member, which Kunikida said was most unlikely but they must be prepared for anything.
After that they travelled further away, on the way there were many food stalls and shops which sometimes they stopped by.
"These crepes are just Delish!" Mina exclaimed as she swooned over after having just one bite. "They really are! I wonder if I can ask for the recipe so I can ask the chefs' to make it later." Momo chimed. "Actually I know the recipe but Atsushi-san is the one that makes it, I even know some more places we can go-..." Kyouka mentioned which then led to the girls having a discussion about sweets and where to get them.
Atsushi was glad they were getting along well, it wasn't that long ago they were making a fuss over the knife he got her, and it seems like Kyouka is getting more social which he smiled at and continued with his food.
Yosano, Tanizaki and Kunikida was explaining some history and other things of the places they are and the nearby buildings which interested many of the other students as Kenji and Naomi showed some sighs of the city.
They went of a Ferris wheel to see the whole view of Yokohama. It was a beautiful sight that even left some of the agency members without words.
It's been 45 minutes, after they left the wheel and walked around a bit more they met Fukuzawa who just got out of his meeting so he decided to join them. After walking around a bit more, taking in some sights and going to places Fukuzawa recommended, he suggested that they take a break before continuing, so, they walked over to nearby benches which were facing the sea near the port as they sat down. In a few minutes the sky turned pink and orange as the sun started to set, it's light shimmering over the subtle waves in the ocean.
The view was majestic. It was simply beautiful in a way that could not be described.
Some student's took some photos including some members. So this is why Ranpo wanted them to leave so early.
Afters a few minutes they got back up on their feet and started to walk. Yokohama was huge, it's been ages and they're no where near done visiting just the sight seeing spots.
They went to the shopping district. Many of the shops were still open and they bought some stuff as souvenirs. They noticed how many things seemed old fashioned, like the early two thousands. "Hey Atsushi-san, how come everything seems so...old, not like run down but in the sense of technological advances, it's still beautiful don't get me wrong! But back home we have things like holograms and screens to help advertise shops, here there isn't anything like that." Iida asked at which Yosano chuckled.
"Allow me to answer, we do have high technology, however there is no need to use them for such simple things. Yokohama goes for a more comfortable look rather than bright and colourful." She answered as she picked up a bracelet and inspected it before deciding to purchase it.
Well, if that was the case, Yokohama really captured that homey feeling because the students seemed to forgot that this city was meant to be filled with monsters and despair.
They did visit another café on their way and spent some time there. The food there had the student's mouth watering, even Aizawa who was almost never swayed with such simple means as food couldn't help but be engulfed by their snacks. Ranpo kept bugging Atsushi to get him some more food despite him already eating so much from the food stalls earlier, and Atsushi happily bought him whatever he wanted without any complaints with Fukuzawa later whispering to him that he'd increase his pay rise.
They did visit some police stations on the way. Dazai explained there is a small procedure. Fukuzawa told the officers that these people are from the outside and if there is any problem they come to them with it should be expected to be taken care of immediately, they agreed without complaint tho Monoma was able to overhear them saying how 'they are under your protection, I wonder what help they'd even encounter as only an Idiot would want to cross paths with you'. He wondered what it meant but shrugged it of.
When he came out he held a small box that were filled with some cards. He explained to the students and Aizawa how they will be given one of these to help them make transactions. There is a limit obviously and they cannot be used outside of Yokohama except in special places. A student asked him about it and Kenji explained how there were places around the world that came under Yokohama's property, a famous one was in Europe. This is where Meursault was located.
Throughout their journey however, there was a question on the back of the outsider's minds. What were those 5 tall buildings in the centre?
Most had just assumed it might be the government and hadn't bothered asking but Kaminari doesn't make assumptions, or more likely he doesn't think to.
"Hey I got a question."
"Hm? What is it?" Tanizaki asked with a smile. He didn't fail to notice how Dazai and Ranpo had gone quiet all of a sudden and had that look on their faces. A smile which never meant good so Tanizaki didn't have a good feeling about this.
"What are those big buildings? Seems pretty important and rich." Kaminari asked as he pointed at them. Jirou just elbowed him as she said, "it's probably some government building idiot. What other building would it be as there's no heroes here." She remarked with her usual annoyance but Kaminari learned that it didn't mean anything.
"Oh those?" Tanizaki asked looking at the buildings. He wondered how exactly he should phrase this and looked at the others for help to no avail. So with no beating around the bush he thought it was safe to just tell them. What's the worse that could happen anyways?
"Those are the Port Mafia's headquarters, they're the largest legal, criminal organisation here and they basically run the city during night."
"..."
Silence, the students just looked at him confused, processing the information. Well this is certainly a better reaction than he hoped-
"WAIT WHAT?!"
And he spoke too soon.
Notes:
I'M SO SORRY I TOOK SO LONG TO POST THIS AS WELL.
Also I toned down the MHA character's annoyance because it felt really out of character, besides I like them.

"Those are the Port Mafia's headquarters, they're the largest legal, criminal organisation here and they basically run the city during night."
"..."
Silence, the students just looked at him confused, processing the information. Well this is certainly a better reaction than he hoped-
"WAIT WHAT?!"
And he spoke too soon...
"The Mafia?!"
"So they're villains!"
"Why is their building in the middle of the city?!"
"So Yokohama being ruled by villains is true!? You're just doing whatever a-a.. a Yakuza tells you to?!"
Uraraka is the one that said the last sentence which caused multiple of the Agency members to hold back their laugh, the ones who didn't try to burst out laughing. Dazai and Yosano were part of them as Dazai had to clench his stomach on how much it hurt from his laughing. "He- he called them- a Yakuza!" He said between his chuckles as he calmed down a bit as Yosano wipes away tears from laughing so much.
The outsiders gave them either a confused or an annoyed look, mostly both.
"I'm so telling Chibi! Imagine how he would react when he hears some random people called the Port Mafia as a Yakuza!"
"Dazai-san please don't, he might kill them all if Akutagawa doesn't get to them first.." Atsushi sighed. Maybe Tanizaki should have lied..
"Chuuya-san is coming?" Kenji asked excitedly with sparkles in his eyes.
"No, no, Kenji. They're all in a meeting anyways." Dazai said as he started to walk again.
It seems like the Agency have almost forgotten about the outsiders, I mean it was because of Dazai cleverly shifting the focus but oh well.
The students were still in some shock with Midoriya snapping out first as he raised a hand for a question.
"Yes broccoli boy?" Dazai asked as he pointed a finger at him.
"You mentioned about it being a legal criminal organisation...and that it runs the city, could you explain that?" He asked hesitantly but still with some enthusiasm and curiosity gleaming in his eyes.
"It means exactly what it says." Kyouka commented, not understanding what was so confusing about this situation.
Atsushi gave a small sigh as Ranpo rolled his closed eyes.
They both sort of sympathised with the outsiders purely due to the fact Yokohama wasn't their home land, despite them saying it is.
Atsushi lived most of his life in his orphanage that were on the outskirts of Yokohama, despite that they were still brought up as the average Yokohaman, much harsher but as the average resident nonetheless.
Meanwhile Ranpo had a similar time as he scavenged for the few early years in his life after the passing of his parents until he stumbled upon Fukuzawa, who later took him in and started the detective agency.
Atsushi just patted her head and explained. "Well you see Kyouka-chan, because you have lived your life like this the whole time it makes sense for you as it's normal right? But for them it isn't like that so it doesn't make as much sense.. Here I'll explain Kyouka-chan don't worry." He said as he turned and faced the outsiders.
"Well you see, basically Yokohama is ruled by three major organisations." He started holding up three fingers. "They are split into day, twilight and night, it is a metaphorical sense but also literal I guess." He then held up one finger. "The day is run by the government. They take care of public manners and politics. It helps uphold the public vision of safety." Atsushi then held another finger up, going up a finger each time he explains it. "The second would be the Armed Detective Agency also known as the ADA. We take on cases the police can't handle and our rule is over the twilight, we are in the middle you could say."
Atsushi then paused, seeming to think on how to word his next few sentences and as he opened his mouth to speak Dazai cut in.
"And the Port Mafia takes care of the night! Their nickname is the Night-wardens you know~." He said with his usual cheeky, carefree self as he rested his head on Atsushi's shoulder, seeing Kyouka's glares but choosing to ignore them.
"Yes thank you Dazai-san." Atsushi smiled as Dazai waved his gratitude off with a smug, relaxed smile in return.
"He is correct. The Port Mafia looks over the underground criminal activities, making sure nothing sprouts up that harms Yokohama drastically."
"What? Why?! Aren't they criminals, don't they want to see the city burn?!" Uraraka said, not seeming to buy the story.
"Well too bad it's the truth so suck it up. We don't have any reason to make you believe us" Yosano said clearly annoyed at their reluctant behaviours.
Todoroki then put his hand up but asked despite not getting a yes yet. "I'm a little confused, why would the mafia bother doing so? Is it normal sometimes for villains to protect? I guess that's why Stain saved you once then Midoriya." Todoroki said with a straight face and a nonchalant behaviour. It sort of intrigued Dazai yet only for a few moments before he settled on the conclusion that he is either autistic or traumatised, probably both actually.
"Wait, you met Stain! And he saved you!?" Kirishima exclaimed with wide, starry eyes as half of the classmates copied that expression while the other half had worried expressions met with remarks such as: 'Are you ok?' or 'What happened?!'.
A few of the detectives noticed how Iida looked away with a hint of nervousness or guilt? They took note of it but didn't pay much attention to it either way as it wasn't their business. BUUUT, isn't poking your nose basically a detectives' job? So with that logic Yosano gave Ranpo a look telling him to explain it later which was met with a small grin replying to get the snacks ready.
"That is true, why would villai- oh sorry, the Mafia help protect the peace in the city? Does it not destroy their purpose? Or does The Port Mafia hold a different meaning here?" Momo suddenly asked breaking the questions from a clearly flustered Midoriya who was trying his best to gatekeep the information.
"Simple logic really, it's so simple that even a baby could understand it. Well, Yokohaman babies maybe." Ranpo said as he sucked on a new lollipop.
Seriously, how does he not have type 2 diabetes from all those snacks?
"I do agree with you there Ranpo-kun. Even if Mori-dono has some ulterior motives, at the end, protection of Yokohama will be the highest priority." Fukuzawa said as he sipped on some tea in a plain, ceramic traditional teacup. Where did he even get one?
"No city equals no crime." Dazai said plainly.
Tanizaki perched up helpfully trying to not make The Port Mafia sound so shallow. "That and they do love the city, me and Tachihara-san once met at a clothing shop because we both wear the same sweater...there was only one left so there was a small conflict..", "Oh he roasted him so hard he actually left crying!" Naomi snickered.
"Woah Tanizaki! Didn't think you have it in you! Did he actually leave crying?!" Yosano laughed at that as she wiped an imaginary tear away. "So glad by boy is finally growing up." The statement made Tanizaki go as red as his hair despite it being orange. Eh, their called redheads it's fine.
"That is...actually very simple." Midoriya muttered to himself about the previous statement about why the mafia would save the city. "So, since they're sort of legal do they not get arrested or anything?" He asked with his notebook open in one hand with the other basically shaking with his pen waiting to write this all down.
"Oh no they do still get the right judgement, legal, criminal organisation. They still do crimes and stuff." Ranpo said stuffing his face with another packet of crisp he got out of nowhere.
"It's...complicated.." Atsushi tried to help explain but unable to muster up the right words to explain it. It is complicated, like Port Mafia members roam the streets all the time and live as peaceful as a member could. However at the same time the government hardly show any other mercy when capturing one unless it has been requested upon. I guess it helps that the Port Mafia takes pride in securing that their underground jobs do not bubble to the surface.
"You mackerel! What are you doing here?!" An angry voice, one too similar to Bakugo, rang out as they turned around to see a short ginger man, very well dressed that even made Momo feel quite underdressed.
"Chibi!!" Dazai suddenly exclaimed with his carefree, snarky, atmosphere increasing around him as he ran towards him, arms extended similar to one asking for a hug as he then latched onto him infuriating the short man.
"You asshole!- Get off me!" He said as he pushed him aside getting a whine out of Dazai.
"Chuuya-san!!" Kenji suddenly exclaimed similarly to Dazai but much more light-hearted and innocent as he went and latched onto to the man as well. Yet this time he didn't push him off which made Dazai snicker something about favouritism.
"Oh hello Kenji-kun." Chuuya said and he even patted his hair? What a contrast to how he acted with Dazai.
'Chuuya-san?' Shinsou thought the name sounded familiar but couldn't quite remember.
"Hm? So these are the kids you're taking care of then? Not gonna lie they look better built then what I'd thought, but it ain't sh*t if they can't use that muscle properly." Chuuya remarked looking at them, eyeing and deducting whatever he can, he made quite good hypothesises on their personalities so far but his detective skills are not able to figure out any more. Not like he usually needs to anyways its just something he picked up from hanging with the ADA too much.
"Ah!" Dazai perked up and got into a pose that showed of Chuuya as he made his announcement quite excitedly, he wanted to see their reactions despite knowing full well what it would be. "Well everyone you are all in the presence of the most powerful ability user, Nakahara Chuuya! One of The Port Mafia's five executives!"
...

"He's part of the Port Mafia?!"

Chapter Text
"He's part of the Port Mafia?!"
Their voices basically echoed throughout the streets, gaining a few glances from passer-bys.
"Hell yea I am, gotta problem with it." Chuuya said trying to look intimidating, although it sort of worked Midoriya couldn't help but internally smile at the fact he sounds oh so familiar to another chihuahua he knows. cough cough, Bakugo, cough cough.
"That's f*cking cool!" Bakugo suddenly exclaimed, he looked...proud? What a weird kid, but Chuuya couldn't stop the grin growing on his face as he put his hand on his hips.
"Better than Sh*tty Dazai that's for sure!" He said as he smirked.
"Of course Chibi is better than me~ I'm sure all those times I won against you were just flukes ehh~ Right Chuuya~" Dazai teased as he wore his own grin on his face.
"Shut the hell up! I swear I'll kill you, you slug!" He said attempting to kick him only for Dazai to move out of the way. Those were no simple movements, Chuuya's kick and Dazai's escape would have taken years to master them to do it so gracefully without thinking. Yet as far as Aizawa knows these two seem to be in their early twenties... He'll probably touch on the topic later.
"Oh my! Chuuya would you really go so far for me! I knew there was always some good in that tiny body of yours!" Dazai cried our with his hands together and...his back... arched?...Maybe this was normal in Yokohama but Todoroki did see few subtle glances so he guessed its not but others got used to it.
"Ugh just shut up!" Chuuya replied as Kunikida smacked Dazai in the head. "Dazai! Don't anger an Executive! Peace treaty or not!" He yelled as he dragged Dazai's body which was on the floor back up.
"Sorry Nakahara-san, you know how Dazai-san is sometimes." Atsushi apologised with a bow, Chuuya just waved him off.
"Yes I do know that mistake unfortunately, and I told you that you can call be Chuuya you know." He said.
"Ah sorry, must've been a force of habit from the elevator incident. I'll try to remember Naka- Chuuya-san!" Atsushi replied with a quick smile that Chuuya nodded to in response.
"It's whatever kid. Don't beat yourself up over it, and I mean it, literally and figuratively." He said as he gave that parental glare when their kid says they're gonna go out. At which Atsushi just nodded and seemed to relax as his shoulders went down.
"So...what were you all even up to?" He asked as he, once again, eyed the outsiders.
"Just takin a stroll and showin em where this and that is." Yosano said as he grinned as walked towards him, Chuuya seemed to match her grin. "Hope this means you won't be stuck babysitting to miss our drinking together, got a special one today I wanted to try for a long time."
"As if I'd miss it! Free drinks and Gossip isn't something I'd give up so easily now, besides we got other doctors in Yokohama." She said as she stood next to him. "Say have you grown a bit? Maybe you finally started drinking some milk." Yosano mocked him as Chuuya just growled annoyed. "Now you sound like Dazai!"
Yosano and Dazai just snickered as Chuuya groaned as he turned away. And right in his face was a dark green haired boy with sparkling eyes and a notebook that he pulled out of nowhere.
"So your part of the Port Mafia right?! What's it like there! Osamu-san said you were the most powerful ability user, so what's your ability?! Are you a wanted criminal?! If so how come you can walk around so easily?! Also can-" Midoriya started rambling asking questions at the speed of light that even made Chuuya feel overwhelmed, and he deals with Dazai!
Chuuya held up a hand which cut Midoriya from his trails of never ending questions. "Woah kid, slow your horses there. Yea I am a wanted criminal, the Port Mafia and walking around is a bit complicated, I can also-" Suddenly it was Chuuya's turn to be cut of when a black sharp tentacle like strand sprang out of air that had a red hue to it.
Midoriya was barely out of the way, a second too late and he would have been impaled- wait, WAIT, WAIT?! IS DAZAI MOVING TO THE TENTACLE?
Before Midoriya could yell at Dazai to move away Atsushi had picked him up and jumped a considerable amount of space back for safety, he had an...annoyed face? Meanwhile Midoriya watched with horror has Dazai touched the tendril only for it to vanish a second later. Midoriya just blinked at the sight, if he did this action a second early he probably would have missed everything.
Atsushi then set him down as Yosano walked over and looked around him. "No injuries...tch, what a shame.." She said as she then walked back as Atsushi sighed. "Unless you got a healing ability or quirk, you better steer away from getting hurt at all...Yosano-sensei's ability requires a...strict rule to say the least...I hope I don't have to explain to you about it ever honestly but it is very useful." The white haired male said as he jogged back as Midoriya stumbled behind him who just finished processing what happened.
"Akutagawa! Don't just attack us out of the blue like that! We're taking care of outsiders can't you see?!" Atsushi yelled as a pale man in a long dark coat stepped out of a nearby building.
"How dare you speak to me like weretiger, I ought to take your leg again for that!" He said as h fixed his clothing before he looks over to Dazai and bows.
"Dazai-san I have arrived as you requested. Do I have your approval?" He asked as Dazai waved him off and over carefree. "Oh Akutagawa-kun! So nice to see you, I hope it wasn't too much of a hassle now~"
"Of course not Dazai-san."
"Good, good...Anyways I just wanted you to meet the outsiders that had so graciously blessed us with their presence~!" Dazai announced as it was Akutagawa's turn to eye them up and down and turned around. "I see, in that case I will protect them from harm if that is satisfactory."
"Ah how wonderful~" Dazai pipped but Akutagawa and Atsushi knew he has something else to say as well. And not wanting for Dazai to have the chance to say it and initiate it Akutagawa tried to leave quickly. But a genius like Dazai knew that and 'training' him for years had him quickly overcome him.
And so before Akutagawa vanished again he chirped up. "Oh and Akutagawa-kun~ I have a teeny tiny favour to ask." He said smugly knowing Akutagawa won't just leave.
With a sigh from both of his apprentices Akutagawa turned around. "Yes Dazai-san?"
"Join Atsushi-kun will you?~" Dazai smirked.
"Yes Dazai-san."
"Akutagawa! Put up a bit more of a fight!" Atsushi protested.
"..."
"You are insufferable."
"As if you're any better."
"I think that I am, thank you very much."
"Stupid Jinko."
"Emo vampire."
"I'll take your leg."
"Can you do that before getting into your coughing fit every five minutes."
"It improved."
"Oh really? That's cool but how come?"
"Maybe the vampire incident?"
"Maybe?"
Dazai and some other agency members smiled at how they went from bickering to a normal conversation so quickly.
Ranpo just nudged Dazai with his elbow as he whispered. "Not a bad job, but you're still not on my level." Dazai just smiled in return and in the corner of Aizawa's eyes, he felt for a moment, the mans' mask slip and show an actual smile.
The other students looked at this whole spectacle. Kunikida had mentioned that Akutagawa was not an executive but is quite close in power and should not be messed with.
Yet here were the ADA members, talking, bickering, laughing with them. It was a sight for them, maybe a normal day for those in Yokohama, but a sight that for some, was even more beautiful than the sunset still happening right now. A golden hour, it's called.
Midoriya glanced at Bakugo to see how he was. And honestly, he doesn't think he's ever seen him at such peace.
The blond boy noticed and glanced back at Midoriya who, this time, didn't divert his gaze away immediately, but instead held it for few fleeting seconds as the green haired boy gave a small smile to him.
Bakugo looked at his face before turning his head back. But there was no ill intent. Instead, in those red eyes there was an emotion that Bakugo didn't feel so often.
Acceptance.
So as they tore their looks from one another to the others, the two opposing students had a similar thought.
'The golden hour seems longer than an hour...but...I can get used to this.'
Notes:
Btw the 'elevator incident' is just the scene from BSD WAN when they both get stuck in the elevator.
Chapter 10: Food!
Notes:
I'm back! So sorry it took so long!
Chapter Text
“Shiggy! Shiggy, Shiggy, Tomura, Shiggy. Don’t ignore me I got good news!~” A certain young blond girl kept pestering an older man, who is clearly irritated by her antics.
“What the FUCK do you want you phycho!”
The leader of the League of Villians, also known as Tomura Shigiraki snapped at her.
“Just hear me out! It’s reeeaaallyyy important, I promise!”
“It better be or else I’m going to disintegrate your face.”
At this threat the blond girl just giggled as she stood in front of the blue haired man twirling a knife between her fingers.
“It’s to do with the rouge city, Yokohama. And!as a plus, the UA kids you’re so obsessed with just so happen to be involved~”
At this Shigiraki leaned forward, clearly intrigued at this. “Go on..”
Happy that Toga got his attention she grinned and continued, “well a little birdie told me that a few of those 1-A kids and some additions got an undefined field trip to Yokohama.”
“Hero kids in Yokohama? What the hell is UA trying to pull here, and the fuck does undefined mean?.”
Another person joined their conversation. Dabi leaned on a nearby wall at the rundown bar they decided to be their hideout.
Like isn’t All for One the biggest supervillain that’s in charge of us? And you’re telling me he can’t even get us a decent place. Sure.
“Who knows! It’s probably to clean up the city or some shit.” Spinner said as he chugged down a glass of whatever Kurogiri made.
“Aren’t they supposed to go to that camp in the mountains? Why are they changing the plans?! This is wrong, the main plot can’t change!” Shigiraki screeched as he staring scratching his nech and lower parts of his face that aren’t covered by a hand.
“Calm down Tomura. This is not too bad either, we’re still in the early stages so it won’t be too difficult to change plans.” Kurogiri said as he set down some glasses he finished polishing.
“Yea don’t stress it! Besides I think you’re forgetting where they’re going.” Comprass mentioned as he fiddled with his marbles.
“I agree with magician over there.” Dabi started, “Yokohama is said to be a city over run with criminals. And their population is quirkless with maybe a few powers scattered here and there.”
Hearing this Shigiraki stopped scratching so violently and looked at them. He had an idea what they were on about but wanted to hear their full point.
Toga giggled as she threw a knife at a dart board. “That means they will be easier to stab! And we can take them over easy peesy!”
The mist man sighed at the antics of the group he needs to put up with. “To put it simply, due to the lack of manpower and heroes, with the addition of the already existing corruption within the city, it would be simple to take it over but will be effective as it is the largest city in the world even if it is not recognised due to its independence.”
Shigiraki stayed silent for a few moments before he answered. “So you’re telling me this side quest would help us progressing in the main quest. Sensei would approve this.”
Satisfied with his answer Kurogiri nodded. He did in fact already approve it. “Yokohama is the one place where he has no connections to draw favours in so this will help expand our status and resources.”
The light blue haired man gave a grin, one that even made Toga shudder for a second before she joined in.
“Well I hope Deku-kun and Ochako-chan are there at least!”
"I'm beat!" Kaminari slumped into his bed after literally jumping around at every square meter of the city, finding interest in a crack on the ground.
"Man my legs are so sore as well." Kirishima joined him in his action.
"Not to mention I am starving!" The frog like girl exclaimed slumping even further in her bed.
"Me too bro, the snacks were nice and all but it's definitely not enough." Kaminari agreed as he then sat up on his bed.
A knock came on their door right after with Kaminari going to check who it was. When he opened it Uraraka stood there with most of their classmates behind.
"Hey the agency called us downstairs to eat and discuss something do you want to join now or later?"
Hearing this the rest of the group scrambled from wherever they were and stood in front of her like soldiers waiting for instructions, or like Iida.
"Let's go! Right now." Kaminari yelled as she started pushing through the rest to go downstairs. The others blinked a few seconds before either sighing or laughing and then joining her.
"FOOD!" The alien girl and the shouted while slamming open the agency's door.
The sudden noise made a few of them flinch, despite a few of them knowing that she was coming. Kyouka actually threw a knife that barely missed Mina, somehow none of the students or their teacher noticed it.
"Well, well. It seems Class 1-A are always so careless eh?~" A blond haired boy teased causing a purple haired boy to hit him on the head.
"Shut up copy-cat no one cares." Bakugo said as he rolled his eyes.
"Now now, don't be so rude, we don't want *two* Kunikidas now do we~" Dazai mussed turning both blonds towards him and shouting in unison.
"What do you mean by that you idiot!"
"Wow they are similar! City folk sure are strange!" Kenji expressed cheerfully.
“Hmm no~ he seems more similar to Chuuya-kun now.” Yosano said with her brother in anything but blood nodding after her as he threw away a file for a case he cracked just after seeing what was written.
“Oh yea I see what you mean now that I think about it.” Tanizaki said with a thoughtful face.
Kyoukq nodded and started with her sentence before getting interrupted. “I agree wit-“
“DAZAI STOP TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF WHEN OTHERS ARE HERE OR I WILL PERSONALLY MAKE SURE YOU LIVE A LONG LIFE!”
Kunikida was heard screeching at a certain es bandaged man who was standing on a chair and had a noose in his hands about to put it around his neck.
“What! Kunikida-doppo is so cruel! Atsushi-kun back me up!”
At this the tiger boy just gave a nervous chuckle as he put down some files. “Sorry Dazai-san but I do agree with Kunikida-san, so please refrain from any attempts in front of the students, they are probably too young.”
“Kyouka and Kenji are younger and you’re not all that older either. I see no problem.” Ranpo mentioned as he swung his legs from sitting on a desk and observing a marble in his hands.
“Ranpo, do not encourage him please. Besides we called you here for dinner and some changes to be discussed afterwards.”
Fukuzawa’s voice boomed throughout the room. Not because of its volume but the sheer power and authority even made Aizawa stunned for a few seconds.
“Well then, students come on! Dazai cheerfully said after wriggling himself out of Kunikida’s deathly grip he was in moments ago.
“Yay! I’m really hungry after today.” Kenji, who matched Dazai’s enthusiasm - apart from it being much more genuine, innocent and brighter - followed right after him. Aizawa then came after which provoked the students to do so as well, albeit a bit hesitantly. After that Bakugo’s group went then the rest of the Agency members.
“Tada! Welcome to our lovely kitchen!” The brunette exclaimed throwing his hands in the air and the general direction of the door.
Yosano snickered at his antics and as Dazai was about to enter there room she spoke up. “Aren’t you banned from there?”
“Oh yea! Cause last time you made a big explosion from finding different recipes to try kill yourself.” Kenji helpfully explained with his trademark brighter-then-the-actual-sun-smile.
“Huh, why would you try to do something like that!” Jirou spoke seemingly quite shook at the ordeal of suicide.
“Yea! And back then you tried to hang yourself as well didn’t you! I thought it was a joke but you seem to really try to kill yourself!” Uraraka mentioned with a slightly pale face.
“Did you all just noticed? Wow you’re slower than I thought.” Ranpo said offhandedly as he was about to unwrap a lollipop but got a look from the President which made him put it away with a pout.
“I mean…it has been pretty obvious..” Midoriya suddenly spoke up looking at the ground and fiddling with his fingers.
“Oh so not all of class 1-A are incompetent. Good to know.” Monoma replied, voice laced with sarcasm and judgement.
“It’s not even such a big deal. Why make such a ruckus.” Shinsou commented which sparked the flame to the fuel.
“Not a big deal! What the hell do you know!? It’s not like you or someone you know experienced it now!” Uraraka yelled at him, face red.
Kaminari joined in. “Seriously dude don’t act like you know anything!”
Everyone knew who this was pointed at. Poor Midoriya really hopped that for his sake, and Kacchan’s, that they would have dropped it by now or at least not draw too much attention to it. Honestly, he really did agree with Shinsou, he didn’t think it was a big deal and he only mentioned it to the blond, explosive boy during their argument because, frankly, they both don’t care anymore since it was just a one time thing.
Atsushi watched the room’s atmosphere tense up suddenly. Well mainly it was around the students and their teacher while his colleagues just seemed quite amused at this. Dazai literally has popcorn and everyone is sharing it with him. Even Kunikida and Kenji!
The silver haired man just let out a sigh knowing he’ll have to do something.
Haha, but, now, well,
Isn’t this a tense situation?
Chapter 11
Notes:
Y'all is this plot?? But I'm so sorry for delaying it but school is no joke bro. TT
Chapter Text
Dazai is amused to say the least.
Honestly he'd be rolling on the floor, cackling like a little girl and an evil Witch. But Alas! It would ruin the mood he had so carefully planned. Ok, maybe not that carefully since it wasn't that hard but still.
So for the time being he refrains himself to eating some popcorn. The rest of the members even joined in and shared it with him, finding the scene to endearing to disturb it. Including Kunikida and the President! What a shocker now.
He saw his protege give him a look which the bandaged man have an incredibly innocent smile in return. Seeing this Atsushi just rolled his eyes and stuck out his tongue that reminded Dazai too much of a certain red hair when he can't beat him up or swear at him cause Ane-san forced them to get along. Did that slug reach my dear Sushi sass?? At his mentor no less! I should blow up his new car.
"Guys please, you shouldn't argue with your emotions clouding your judgement. It won't end well usually." A sunshine infused, blond haired boy said helpfully. Atsushi made a mental note to get him a very nice Christmas gift. The boy would be grateful for a piece of rock though.
"Honestly I agree. Take it from the people that tends to get a bit carried away with our anger.." Tanzania trailed off hesitantly.
Kyouka wanted to snort at that statement while Yosano did. The younger girl saw how close the ginger was to killing the GOD DAMN LEADER OF THE PM. And Yosano had a good view as well from Kyouka's description. Personally the older woman would have liked him to succeed, if it weren't for Kouyo, but she'll forgive her cause she's hot. Yes, go ahead, sue her, it won't change her mind one bit.
Tanizaki heard the snort and looked at the short haired woman with an expression that begged her and threatened at the same time for her to keep quite. So she did, it would be better to mention it later actually. Now it's Dazai's turn.
"Honestly yea. You all get so agitated so quickly, I doubt you all even know that much on the topic of suicide anyways. God you're even more hot headed than Bakugo." Shinsou stated blankly.
Now Atsushi is a very patient man. His ability however? Not so much. it's only expected after all, you can't expect a wild tiger to be well behaved now. And it doesn't help that the case he did previously with Kyouka made his blood boil. Ok maybe that was an overstatement but it certainly put him in a bad mood that grew with every passing minute with the company of the UA kids. although group B seemed the most tolerable.
Despite his smile and actions, he wants to strangle the sense into these kids because God they're stupid.
I get you now Kunikida -san, I promise to never be a pain ever again.
The other students did not take lightly to be compared with the hot headed boy. "What the hell do you mean by that!"
"Don't you dare compare us to him!-"
And now Dazai and Atsushi just tuned them out.
With a sign Atsushi cut in the shouts and the developing argument. "Please guys come on. We don't want to eat late and go to bed even later now do we? After all its going to be a busy day tomorrow." He said with a smile that required all of his patience to maintain.
In the corner of his eyes he could see Ranpo give him a nod of respect, probably from his much he's holding out right now.
He also heard a tch from a student. I'm sure you can guess who it was.
"Whatever I'm too hungry for this." Bakugo huffed as he opened the door to the kitchen and stepped in.
"Haha I can agree with that now!" Dazai cheered as he hopped to go in as well before being stopped by Kunikida holding the collar of his coat.
"Did you really think I'll let you go in just like that?" He said with a smile on his face. A smile, Kunikida hardly smiles ever. This made the ex demon prodigy gulp in fear as some cold sweat ran down his face.
"Kyouka-chan can you pass me those spices?" Atsushi called out as he tasted some of the soup he was making. you can never go wrong with some good chicken soup unless you can't have chicken. Thankfully they can.
Everyone was gone to do something. Tanizaki and Kenji were helping making another batch of soup with Kunikida and most of the students peeling and chopping vegetable. Yosano and Naomi were getting the plates and whatnot. Ranpo was making sure Dazai didn't escape from the ropes he was tied in whole also answering a few questions from Midoriya.
And Fukuzawa was just overlooking everyone, probably to make sure no one pulls a Dazai and burns the kitchen down again.
"Wow Bakugo -kun, I never knew you had such a knack for cooking now." Monoma teased the other blond haired boy as he turned and yelled at him, all while not even stopping his cutting.
"The hell do you mean ya copy cat! It's just you're all so bad at this."
"Bakugo -san please don't tell in the kitchen, Atsushi-san might not like it." Kenji asked politely and the mention of making Atsushi uncomfortable or making Kenji disappointed made the explosive boy shut up with a huff and continue his cutting in silence.
A few of the other students seemed a bit unnerved at how calm the explosive boy became at the young farm boy. Even Aizawa seemed impressed. He should ask for some tips later.
Kenji kept talking as he drained some beans. "But you really are good at cooking Bakugo-san. Why don't you teach Atsushi-san and me some recipes from the outside? We can teach you some that is local to Yokohama as well!"
"Tch. Whatever, I don't care... but knowing some recipes won't hurt." Bakugo said slowly, not averting his eyes from the potatoes so neatly cut.
"Wah, really!" Kenji exclaimed, beaming while Atsushi looked at the other boy with a smile. "Are you sure? We wouldn't want to waste your time you could spend outside." The albino boy asked to which Bakugo made an annoyed noise.
"Shut up. I wouldn't agree if I don't want to ok? Stop fretting so much damnit."
"Yea Atsushi-kun, listen to him and stop fretting about everything." Dazai, who wormed his way to his protégé said teasingly to which the other gave a faint blush of embarrassment.
"Dazai-san!"
At that the agency laughed. The atmosphere was light and cheerful that not even the students could help but join in, forgetting anything that happened a few minutes ago.
After all, to live a life filled with judgement and misery from you and others, is such a sad way to live life. Kyouka, who had been observing silently from the side smiled, so softly, as these kids who were only a year above her seemed to finally be at peace.
"Kurogiri, how much more longer do we have to walk! I don't understand why you can't just teleport us." Toga complained as she slumped herself to a nearby tree.
"I've said this already Toga, I can't teleport ourselves to a place I have no idea how it is, besides I'm pretty sure we're near."
"Ugh why is there so many trees." Twice grumbled as he swatted a branch in his face.
"Cause it's a forest dumbass. But I swear I'm going to burn this place down."
"Everyone we're here." Compress called out making the others follow to where his voice his. And as he said, there was a huge slightly translucent yellow wall in front of them, giving a tingle feeling when touching it as it ripples a bit as if it were water. This was the dome that protected this weak city from the rest.
"Hey do you think I could slash us in?" Toga perked up taking a knife out in each hand. While Kurogiri shook his head. "It's the work of an ability, I doubt you could break it with your physical prowess alone."
"Bummer."
"Hey Shigiraki does your quirk work?" Dabi asked turning to their leader. Testing it out he put his hand on the dome slowly, almost for dramatic effect some might say.
However nothing happens except for the large ripple from the dome and Shigiraki pulling his hand away immediately with a scowl on his face. "Motherfucker bit me." He said while he shook his hand.
Kurogiri just let out a sigh as he walked closer to inspect the dome. "Then we shall proceed with plan A. The dome itself does not look too thick so I could teleport us the short distance for it in one go."
"Alright! Lets do this then!" Twice yelled with Spinner not seeming to pleased at the sudden loud noise.
"Ooo~ Yippii! I'm so excited I wonder how those quirkless people are. And those ability users." Toga let our a giggle followed by a grumble from Dabi. "Probably weak ass shit from the lack of training and all. They only had to fight quirkless people so far."
"Let's get this over and done with." Compress expressed with a nod from the rest.
"Alright then, get in the portal everybody."
Shigiraki was snickering. "Hehe... this'll be a good checkpoint for us to take over control"
Ring~~ Ring~~
"What the hell do you want now you shitty mackerel?!"
"Oh Chuuya how you wound me!" A voice from the other side said with playful hurt but got serious scarily quick. "But they're here, finally."
The short redhaired cursed. "Already? Didn't you say it might take another day or so?"
"Well not to fret my dear partner! They would make their move in a few days or so, I'd say 4 tops. I doubt the Port Mafia alone would need more than 4 hours to finish anything now. Even less with us."
"Yea yea whatever. I'll prepare or whatever you tell me to do. God I hate listening to you."
"Likewise! Anyways dinner is almost finished so byee~~"
Beep. Beep.
"My my Chuuya-kun, it seems our guests have arrives sooner than hoped." An elegant, pink haired lady said as she sipped on her glass of wine.
"Uninvited might I add." A man in his forties commented as he tilted his head upwards.
"Not like they could do anything. Honestly the Black Lizard could handle them, throw in a few others and we'll be done for wine." Chuuya grumbled as he took of his hat and swatted some dust of it.
"Oh but there isn't any fun in that now is there. If we're going to do this, better to send the world a message, no?" Mori chimed as he averted his view from his subordinates to the city below him, the moon full in view. A smirk coming into light on his face, a look not many see and live to tell the tale
"We don't want anyone to mess with Yokohama now do we."

"Well," Dabi whistled as the group looked at the city that had been closed of for so long, "this isn't what I expected it to look like."
Shigiraki grumbled and started scratching his neck again. "What the fuck is this shit. Isn't this meant to be a run down, villain city, even being quirkless they're too happy. Kurogiri you didn't fuck up and send us somewhere else did you?"
"I don't think he did, I mean these architecture is very old fashioned and so far it seems no one has any quirks." Compress spoke up with a hand on his chin as he looked around.
"I hope they have good places to stay." Toga whined, "why did we come here during the night! I'm so tired and hungry and I barely brought any blood!"
"You can have mine Toga! No you're not don't even think about it!" Twice exclaimed, switching his personalities to and fro.
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Shigiraki suddenly yelled. "I can't care less about you're complaints. We're here to take over this city. It'll take a week probably seeing how weak everyone is. Go kill a bitch or something Toga. And Twice get your shit together."
They all fell silent, mostly not caring but not feeling like arguing back and getting killed. Toga looked down as she fiddled with a knife and Dabi was looking to his side with Compress. "Well that was fun." The scarred man said, breaking the silence. "But we do need a place to stay and I don't feel like another run down bar or warehouse."
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Twice asked, he was squatting on the ground watching an ant trail.
Compress pointed at a billboard. "There's hotels up there. Cheap if I say." At the mention the rest of the members followed his finger to the large board in front of a building advertising their market. There was a bunch of rooms, some even connected. "Yippee!" Toga jumped. "I want an own room!"
"I don't know. It seems too good, may be a scam." The fog-covered man commented as he scanned the deals. "We are in Yokohama, city of crime. It's wise to be alert."
"Oh who cares, they're quirkless and stupid. We could ask for a tour before getting the room." Twice yelled, throwing his arms up like a child which made him loose balance and fall on the ground, sitting properly instead of squatting.
"Well I do agree. We should be careful of scams yet I doubt they could do anything if we run away or anything." Compress commented thoughtfully. "What does our dear leader think of it?" He turned to Shigiraki who was clearly pissed more than usual.
"I don't care! Do whatever, just get us a place. I want to get out this city fast. It's weird." The blue haired man gritted through his teeth while he kept scratching his neck.
"You should stop that young master, it may scar." Kurogiri remarked. "But whatever you wish. Let's get going."
"Now that everyone is here. I'd like to announce some things regarding our guests." Fukuzawa announced after they have had their dinner and are now back in the office.
The students stiffened a bit and Aizawa stopped leaning and stood up properly, arms crossed. "What are you planning?"
"Due to you all being outsiders," Yosano took the lead and stepped forward. "We thought you might come across some dangers being on yer own. So we're going to have a few people stay with you during the night." She concluded.
The silence stretched on for a minute, realistically, honestly it felt like an uncomfortable hour.
"We are capable of looking after ourselves." Tokoyami said grudgingly.
"I will have to agree. We are hero students." Momo added.
"Yea well gotta suck it up, heroes, villains, they don't mean anything to us. In Yokohama, strength isn't going to cut it alone." Dazai chimed.
"Come on guys it's not so bad. It wont hurt and we can learn more things at the same time." Midoriya tried to help out.
"Alright then. Now that we're done I'll have two members stay with you." The President continued on. "I thought Atsushi and Kunikida would be the best fit. Would you two be willing to do so?" He turned to look at the two men. Kunikida seemed quite calm by this and had accepted it. "Of course President." He replied with a nod from the elder men in return and looked at the younger out of the three. "Atsushi-kun? Is it not suitable for you? If so apologies, I assumed due to your understandable and outgoing nature, it would be no problem."
The white haired boy looked up from his thoughts and waves his hands to emphasis his point. "Oh no no! It's not that Mr President. I was just worried because I'd have to leave Kyouka-chan alone." He glanced at the said young girl who seemed to perk up at the mention of her name.
"Ah." Fukuzawa realised, "If so then you could just-"
"She can stay with me!" Kenji suddenly interrupted. "We've been planning a sleepover anyways and I wanted to show her all the other farm animals. What do you think Kyouka-chan!" He beamed at the dark haired girl who blinked a few times.
"Sure. If that's fine with you Atsushi." She looked over at him who just tilted his head and smiled. "Sure, but if you return back tell me and let me know if you need me any time you're there alone."
"Don't worry Atsushi-kun! Your reliable mentor will check up on her!" Dazai butted in with a cheeky grin that made Atsushi have a cold sweat. "Kyouka-chan inform me immediately." She nodded while Dazai gave out a mock sound of hurt.
"Ah don't fret too much boyo. I'll help and check in as well." Yosano jutted in and threw an arm around the albino boy. "Ah really? Thank you Yosano-sensei." He smiled.
A cough was heard that made the rest turn to the sound. It was the president.
"Well then it is sorted right? Atsushi, Kunikida, how long would it take you to gather all the items you will need for your stay?" He asked. "Most likely 20 minutes if I rush." Kunikida answered first. "Ah well it'll take 5 for me if I use the tiger's legs to run." "Alright then. Aizawa, I hope you can look after them until Atsushi at least arrives."
The black haired man nodded. "They are my students."
"I know."
"..."
"Ok come on lets go! I'll come and walk with you Kyouka-chan so you can follow me to my house!" Kenji broke the silence as he eagerly jogged to the door.
"Oh alright then. Lets go Atsushi-san." She looked over and waited till she and her guardian were side by side then started to walk together.
"Well this is our cue to leave. See you guys later!" Ranpo exclaimed and quickly left the room with Yosano.
"I'll leave too. Bye~" Dazai left the next second with Tanizaki and Naomi following after with a nod.
"Well I shall leave and get my preparations done. I hope you kids won't mind having us around." Kunikida walked out as well.
Fukuzawa nodded at the students that had stayed silent so far. "Return to your rooms now. If there are any problems during the night inform those two and we will get it sorted soon as possible if seen fit." He stood by as the others waited for him to leave so they could too. "I will need to close the office so leave first." And with that the teenagers filtered out in a matter of seconds. Only Aizawa and Fukuzawa stood now.
"Where will the other blond man stay now? I don't think I am particularly comfortable with a grown adult sleeping with students. Atsushi seems fine as he is the same age or near I presume." Aizawa spoke up.
"Ah, well I am thinking of having them stay with you. And yes, Atsushi is close in age in a way, but he is 18 so keep that in mind he is a mature adult." Fukuzawa answered. At the age reveal Aizawa saw himself a bit shocked as the boy seemed too young to be an adult. He had assumed him to be a simply, overly developed and mature child. "My apologies."
"No need. It happens to the best of us. I suggest you leave now as Atsushi will arrive in a few minutes."
Eraserhead nodded and turned and walked away. Needless to say he had been curious of this new change of having the detective members with them at night. It was odd, usually this wouldn't happen if they knew something was going to happen.
He narrowed his eyes at the thought as he arrived in front of his temporary space and unlocked it and closed the door. Something is going to happen, he is sure of it.
And It's going to be something big, and something he will definitely not like.

Chapter Text
Knock knock.
Aizawa went to open the door to his dorm. It was very spacious surprisingly, seeing how crowded the office and everything else seemed. Perhaps they anticipated this and intentionally gave him a large room for this reason. Well whatever.
He opened the door and was greeted with a sight of an albino boy with a very slight blush and panting and he stood with a bag in his hand. The elder male raised his eyebrow at the bag but kept his neutral face otherwise. Was that all he brought? Well whatever not like he's going to judge much, one of his students literally only has a futon and a cardboard box for his room. He's not even the most financially challenged one.
He snapped out of his thoughts when the other boy took in a deep breath and gave a smile. "Aizawa-san! Hello sorry I took a bit longer then expected I forgot how long it actually took to get here." Aizawa just nodded slightly. "It's fine, you were much faster than I expected anyways. Is that all your going to use? You probably would be here for a few weeks or so." He said gesturing to the bag the other was holding.
"Oh yea. No, no, this is fine don't worry."
"Hmph." The black haired man the stepped aside for Atsushi to enter which he thanked. The younger boy looked around, noting the area and wonders if Kyouka would like anything similar in their own dorm. Lucy once mentioned it looked sadder than a prison cell... Oh well, he looked back at the teacher and spoke up. "I assume Kunikida-san is not here yet?" he asked at which Aizawa just nodded to. Atsushi acknowledged it and returned the nod before he stood in middle of the living room. Aizawa sighed and sat down on a couch. "You're welcome to sit down... You'll be here for a few weeks so don't feel so awkward."
"Ah! Yes sorry." Atsushi quickly scurried to a chair nearby and sat with his bag on his lap. His body was quite rigid and tight that Aizawa got Deja vu from a similar young boy he knew, but not on a level felt it was a need to go and correct him or whatever. He took a cup with coffee he made a few minutes prior and sipped it slowly, savouring the flavour as they both sat in silence, not particularly uncomfortable and neither of them wanted to start a conversation yet. After a few minutes a ping came from Atsushi's pocket where he took out his phone and gave a smile and typed something. The elder male took note of this.
A flip phone. I've seen others use smartphones to know they're not behind technology wise, and they've revealed that they're not as well. I wonder why he has one. I doubt it's money. Well each to their own I guess.
Aizawa observed him for a few seconds before speaking up. "Did someone text you?" He took another sip of his coffee as Atsushi looked up.
"Oh, yes, sorry, Kyouka-chan just texted me saying she got to Kenji-kun's house safely." He explained as he put his phone away. Aizawa hummed in reply.
"She's the girl in a Kimono with long dark blue hair correct?" He asked as he set his own cup of coffee aside. "What's a girl that young doing in a detective agency anyways." Enquired Aizawa.
"Well some certain circumstances happened that led her here. But she's quite happy here. And if you're worried on her safety and education don't worry. We make sure she's still well educated. Even better some may say." The white haired boy explained doing some gestures with his hands.
Aizawa slightly narrowed his eyes.
"And what are those circumstances that made her come here?"
"I don't think I should tell you."
"Fine" he thought, "What about that knife you gifted her?"
Atsushi blinked then perked up. "Oh that. Well she mentioned how she needed a new one as her old one was getting too dull. And I knew a shop where they do custom knives with high quality and decided to pick it up on my way back."
"But is it not dangerous for a child to handle such equipment. Quite impractical seeing how you said you ensure her safety then give her a knife." He said with a hint of annoyance? Aizawa wasn't too sure what he was feeling.
Atsushi stared at him for a few seconds before he started speaking. This time his face or body showed no emotion which contrasted his previous, animated and nervous demeanour. "Kyouka-chan is very much experienced with handling knives, possibly second or third after Yosano-sensei and Fukuzawa-san. Don't undermine her abilities, or anyone you see her. If you do that will be your downfall in Yokohama."
Aizawa stayed silent after hearing his words. He felt insulted at his words but knew there was an undeniable truth behind them.
"I'm a hero kid, I know better than most people."
"I hope so."
They stayed silent again for ten minutes in a similar silence, the atmosphere is so thick you could probably get a knife and cut it like jelly. A knock was then heard that broke the uncomfortable quiet, Aizawa got up to go open it, mind still preoccupied with the kid's word, or can he even call him a kid anymore, supposedly he's meant to be eighteen and it's clear he has some experience in less than common work. He sighed as he stood in front of the door and opened it to a sight of a dirty blond man with glasses and upright clothes holding a suitcase in one arm with a small bag on it resting on it.
"Excuse me for taking a long time." Kunikida pushed up his glasses and waited patiently to be let in. Realising this a moment late Aizawa gave nod and stepped inside to let the taller man in. Kunikida walked in towing his suitcase behind him and went to the living room while Aizawa lingered a few moments longer to lock the door.
"Kunikida-san!" Atsushi happily remarked with a relieved smile. Good timing, he was getting too uncomfortable around the teacher, and the presence of a familiar person certainly lightened up the room and sucked out any past feelings that were present a moment ago.
"Oh Atsushi. Glad to see you're here. Have you not settled into a room yet?" Kunikida replied as Aizawa came in. "We were waiting for you cause the boy doesn't want to take a room you might like more." The worn out looking man replied as he picked up his nearly empty mug and walked to the kitchen and placed it in the sink.
Kunikida let out a sigh while Atsushi gave a nervous chuckle. "Alright then." He turned to Aizawa who stepped out of the kitchen. "Can you show us our rooms then?"
"Sure follow me" The black haired man started walking down the corridor and stood in front of two doors near each other. "You guys can pick which one. I'm going to sleep now." And with that he turned around and opened a third door that was opposite to the other and walked in a closed it, leaving the two detectives on their own.
"So Atsushi, which one would you like?" Kunikida asked glancing at the weretiger beside him.
"Oh no I'm fine with whatever, you can pick the first one Kunikida-san." Atsushi said a bit flustered having turned around to face the elder male and waving his arms in front of him to emphasis his feelings. For someone who seems so timid and quiet most times, he does talk very animatedly and is very expressive. Good.
Kunikida snapped out of his thoughts and gave a small sigh. "I'll take this room then. Have a good night Atsushi, a good sleep is important remember. And if you need anything come to me I'm right here." The blond man knew if he insisted Atsushi pick they would go around in circles, with another sigh he put on a small smile and gave a quick pat on the younger's head and went in the room before Atsushi could react properly.
Atsushi on the other hand was frozen at the sudden gesture and before he could rebuttal the other man left! Gosh. He gave out a sigh but had a smile on his face as he went in his own room. At first he did feel nervous about being on his own and leaving Kyouka, and the interaction between the teacher did not help in this case, so it was nice to know someone he knew he can trust is right here.
Notes:
To the person I said like a month ago I'll post this chapter around that time. I beg for your forgiveness. And for everyone else who was waiting for this. I'm making Atsushi and Kunikida have a more father son relationship because it is how I cope with his death.
Chapter 14
Notes:
Please don't throw stones at me for such a late update! I'll try to be consistent but it's hard with exams so soon.
At one point I had the majority done but got a burn and had to go to the hospital so that delayed it like a week. So I'm also sorry about that!!
Chapter Text
It was the next morning, close to noon.
The Armed detective agency and UA students currently were lounging in the office with a few missing. Dazai and Kunikida were out for a mission and so was Kyouka, although their one only consisted of transporting some information for a case. A few of the students were still upstairs in their dorm room, and finally Fukuzawa and Toshinori (also known as all might) were in the former man's office space, seeming to discuss an upcoming event.
Other than that there was nothing going on. Ranpo was munching on snacks with Yosano nearby. Kenji staring at his plant, again. Atsushi and Tanizaki were typing up some reports of their recent missions, or in Atsushi's case, Dazai's missions. Naomi was with Haruno who was gushing over her cat. Mina later joined them with Tsuyu and started talking about their own pets back home. Tokoyami, Todoroki and Jiiro were quietly observing while Monoma was doing the exact same thing, but with a condescending aura that made him seem cocky - which he is -. Momo and Uraraka were conversing about something that was later interrupted by Kaminari and Kirishima soon entering and stating how Midoriya, Bakugo, Iida and Shinsou are still in at the dorm upstairs and will join them soon.
It was peaceful, too peaceful. Class 1-A is never peaceful, double it with the Armed Detective magnet for trouble and you're begging on your knees for something to happen.
"At-su-shi-kun~!" A bandaged brunette burst through the office, slamming the door open and entering like a storm, catching most people's attention.
"Dazai-san!" said male squeaked, startled by his mentor. "Shouldn't you still be with Kunikida-san for the mission and the briefing with the police?"
"Atsushi-kun, it's like you don't even know me." Dazai tutted and made his way over to Atsushi and draped himself over the younger man. "The mission is finished and those briefings are so~ boring. Kunikida-dopo can handle it anyways. So when he was speaking I slipped out, like a sneaky snake." He emphasised his point my wiggling his fingers, earning a sigh from the albino boy.
"Kunikida-san might throw you off the window for this Dazai-san. You've a bunch of stuff that has recently pissed him off." Hearing this, Dazai gave a sneaky, childlike smile, crinkling his eyes slightly in amusement. "But he hasn't ever since my past was out the bag you know?" He hummed, a little satisfied with the answer but albeit, a bit curious if Kunikida will reprimand him again like he used to.
Atsushi tilted his head slightly to see the older man better. "He's gotten over it ages ago Dazai-san. He's just been busy with everything that had happened that he didn't pay as much attention to your shenanigans." Dazai blinked owlishly at that. He honestly thought Kunikida would still be under the guise and fear from his previous occupation, I mean to find out you've been ordering around a past mafioso, from the port mafia and the famous demon prodigy who was the youngest executive and part of Soukoku, well it would all give you a shock.
Kunikida is no lesser man, Dazai knows that very well, he doesn't judge despite his demeanour, so when most normal, lesser, people might've cut ties with him, or send him over to the police, Kunikida didn't. But Kunikida is still a man who had the most normal background, despite being a genius teacher at 18 to 20. He isn't lesser but he's normal and Dazai is not normal, and normal people don't link with abnormal. Dazai had no qualms about Kunikida sticking with him however, he liked it, still likes it. But hearing that Kunikida didn't care, got over it is still surprising. Because he is a normal person, and normal people do not react normally to abnormal things.
"Ack!" Dazai put a hand to his forehead where is seemed Atsushi had flicked him. "Atsushi-kun~!" He whined. "That hurts, why would you do it!" Rubbing over the spot that's now developing a red mark he looked at the man guilty of this crime, fully turned around, still sitting in his chair with arms folded and a look that bordered on annoyance and anger, like a mother telling her child off.
"Dazai-san is overthinking again." He huffed and looked away with annoyance now clearly etched on his face. "Dazai-san is a good person now and has other good people but he still doubt's himself, you told me not to wallow in self-pity. You're such a hypocrite Dazai."
"Wha-? Atsushi-kun!"
"Ohh~ burn." Dazai looked at his apprentice in shock before snapping his head to the person that said it. It was none other than their doctor, Yosano, paired with Ranpo, both snickering at them, him.
"Eugh, shut up." The brunette looked at the pair with a pointy, unamused look. In return Yosano fluttered her eyelashes innocently and averted her gaze while Ranpo straight up ignored it and continued sucking on his lollipop.
"But you know, you should listen to your protégé. More emotionally stable than you for sure, and probably anyone else in the Agency."
Dazai grumbled at this, he knew the detective was most likely right but he wasn't going to let him get away with it, and as he was about to retort, defending his stable mentality, the door burst open to reveal an angry sight of a dirty blond tall man. It's quite a normal sight for the agency, and the not so newcomers were getting used to it as well, but most of them wondered if he was doing physically fine as they swore they saw smoke out his ears in a comical manner.
"OSAMU! YOU WASTE OF OXYGEN!" By now Kunikida has gotten a hold of Dazai's collar and shaking him vigorously while the person getting shook in question had a pleasant, almost content but also condescending smile on his face as he giggled like a small school girl jumping in puddles.
"What the hell did you think leaving in middle of the police?! I ought to throw you out the window!"
"Fufu~ Kunikida-kun is being so mean to me again."
"What in the world do you mean you mackerel? I'm going to make you write the reports for this mission. AND it better be done by tomorrow. If not I'm taking your cheap booze for a month."
Dazai seemed to have frozen in shock at this. "Ack! Kunikida-kun is so mean to me! You had it handled anyways why should I have stayed there. It was sooo boring you know." Kunikida visibly turned a shade of angry red at this and Atsushi sighed as took a pair of headphones before his poor ears would be subjected to torture that is meant for Dazai. He looked and saw many students jolt in surprise at the loud sound, some furhter flinched and looked baffled at the eloquent language Kunikida had started to use, Tanizaki had already moved before to take Kenji out the room and Yosano and Ranpo were no where to be found. A few students took out their own headphones or used their ears to muffle the sound.
Oh well. Atsushi thought, they'll get used to it.
It's been a good few minutes now that Kunikida has calmed down. Dazai looked dazed as he slumped into a nearby chair as the other male let go of his collar at last and went back to his desk, ready to work with a calm, neutral expression as if he hadn't just uttered atrocities that would be considered multiple war crimes in most places of the world. Not missing a beat Kyouka entered the office and walked over to Atsushi, not fazed by the unusual silence of the room. Of course, she knew what happened, Atsushi had sent her a message not to come in until he says so again. She didn't question it and had a pretty good idea on why as well, the current room's environment only proved her point.
"Atsushi-san I'm back." She said with her normal monotone voice, to which he smiled at her. "Welcome back Kyouka-chan. I hope the trip wasn't too bad. I didn't get to ask you about your stay at Kenji's. Was it alright?"
"Mhm, he let me pet his cows. It was very fun."
"Haha, I'm glad"
Slowly the room got it's usual vigour and volume back, the rest of the students finally came and settled. There was still animosity against Bakugo from most of the other characters but it wasn't as intense, Midoriya specifically tried to talk with him whenever the rest weren't paying attention and the other would respond back rather than telling him to shut up. However in such a finite space, people other than the agency were bound to see something, however they too seemed to keep quite rather than make a fuss.
Hmm, I guess it's true children adapt quickly. Atsushi observed silently as he finished up his report and gave a stretch. It also seemed Tanizaki had also finished his own and now the two young men were conversing about their work until the door opened and entered their boss, Fukuzawa who was alongside Aizawa and Toshinori.
"Ahem!" Fukuzawa let out a cough to grab everyone's attention, not like he didn't have it before. "Due to the last attack on Yokohama and the Armed Detective Agency's large contribution and false charges, the government has decided to host another Gala as repayment and as celebration for us, similar to the guild's."
Many of the agency members perked up hearing this, all of them were interested now. Toshinori then stepped forward with a smile and spoke up. "Also, with some persuasion, we will be able to attend as well. It is a public event after all and would serve as a good practice to these types of exposure. It will be important for hero work as well. But also take this chance to rewind and cool down." He finished the rest of the information. Yagi was well aware of the recent tension between his students, although he doesn't know the specific details he knows it was something to do with young Bakugo's and Midoriya's past. But he trusts his students to resolve it well on their own.
Aizawa then took a step forward with his usual passive annoyed expression. "This will happen in 2 days time. I suggest you get ready for it. More details will be sent to your phones and given in paper. So no excuses for missing out important information, especially if all of you get it."
"Yes Sensei!" Most of the students yell out while those who didn't gave another form of conformation.
"Good. Now I'm gonna go sleep again. Don't bother me unless someone's dying." With that the sleep deprived man left the room. It's a wonder how he sleeps most of the time yet is still so tired.
Soon the other two men authority left the room and chatter bubbled up immediately. Everyone was excited for this event. Ranpo was already imagining the food while Yosano and Dazai thought of the drinks. Kenji was just excited for everything and the rest of the agency felt pleasant to be rewarded for their hard work.
"Guys guys!" Mina yelled out excitedly that cut through the sound. "We should definitely go shopping!"

Chapter Text
An overhead bell rang as the shop's door was opened.
"Oh welcome- Ah Detective agency, it's a pleasure to meet you again." An aged man -in his fifties or so- with a square face and a tall body, who seemed to just start getting wrinkles and grey hairs mixed with his light brown ones, turned away from the counter to the group that had just entered. The UA students and teachers took note of how he didn't seem Japanese.
"Ah Liam-san, how do you do?" Yosano walked up first to him. It was a common shop she often went to, in fact the first shop she took Atsushi then Kyouka to when they joined.
It is well known, located in the middle of the large shopping district, and built as elegant as the clothes they provide but one of the largest clothes shops in Yokohama as well. It was quiet and warm with no rush and most outside noises were blocked off by the walls. Ambient lights overhead shone gently with everything a pastel, a calm colour pallet along the walls and its designs. It was quite different to those in Mustafa with how busy it normally is.
"Haha, I'm very well Yosano. Not old enough to retire yet, this man has plenty of years left and helpers that extend it even more." The old man let out a chuckle and walked back to the counter.
"Wow! This place looks amazing! Do you run this place, old man?" Mina was quick to warm up and seemed to bounce on the spot as she leaned forward to Liam.
"Ah, you must be those outside hero students? Well, you are right on that young lady, I own this establishment. Miss Yosano here is a frequent visitor as well and perhaps even Young Kyouka eh?" He gave a playful wink to the young dark-haired girl who just gave a smile in return. Old man Liam is a nice man and often acts like a grandfather which Kyouka soon learned.
Momo seemed quite intrigued by the place as were her classmates. She took a step and stood by Mina, raising her hand to ask something. "Ah, yes young lady?"
"This seemed to be a successful business Liam-sama, if you don't mind me asking, I haven't heard of this establishment outside of Yokohama. Do you not have any chain stores? I think you would do quite well if you did."
Liam let out a chuckle as he sat down. "Well, this shop was an Idea I've had since I was a young boy. When I turned twenty I wanted to open it up and make the dream true you know? But no one was willing to invest in someone who didn't even have a quirk now." He took in a deep breath. At this point, all of the UA visitors were listening along with a few agency members but most went their own way to look for clothes. "For almost ten years I tried you know, I thought if I could just get one shop, just one, it would be enough. All those years yet I didn't get anything helpful, apart from the news of Yokohama."
"What do you mean Liam-san?" Ochako asked. She was sitting down opposite him and incredibly invested in it.
Liam sat a bit more straight and rested his hands together on his lap. "What do you think of Yokohama? The quirkless city, crime-infested, unpleasant to live in. But for those like me, it was heard as a haven. So I packed my things, told my friends and left here. Some even joined me, ones in the same position as me. A few years later I was already running a business and by fifteen years it was one of the most well known." The man let out a tired sigh and slumped into his chair. "I don't think this would have been possible if I stayed out there you know?"
After this story the listeners stayed quiet, most likely thinking over the horrible experience this man had to go through.
Iida spoke up seeing how he is class president; "I'm sorry sir-"
But he was cut off by a hearty laugh from the old man. "Goodness, what polite kids you are. Don't apologize, no. I'm well happy now and it wasn't your fault." He leaned forward and gave a much more warm smile. "However, seeing you young kids knowing these things and understanding just how, well, stupid it is, it does make this old man feel better about what you'll do in the world."
Hearing these words made the students feel something deep inside them, this person helped open their eyes to such injustice and they, as future pro heroes, can easily extend their influence to help against this injustice.
Ohh... What a large responsibility we have..
It felt quite heavy, knowing such a burden. But damn hell if they will abandon it, what are they? Weak? Everyone knows their capabilities, and while no one can say they're strong for full-on battles regularly, not even villains can call them weak. So there is no reason for them to feel intimidated by this, after all it is what they signed up for.
"Hey Kids!" A voice called out suddenly, snapping the students (and teachers) out of their thoughts. Looking at the source it was the Agency's doctor, Yosano. She gave a wave to them and seemed a little impatient.
Tapping her foot and having her arms crossed she called out, "I love how you're getting moral lessons and all; like that is the purpose of the trip. But right now the reason we're here is to shop for clothes and not sit in silence and wallow in your guilt of not knowing these things sooner." She let out an annoyed huff then turned around, calling Kyouka over to look at some dresses, which Dazai alsi tagged along for fun.
Liam let out a chuckle hearing that, "Haha! Well you kids ought to go and have some fun, I'm glad you listened to an old man's rambling but I still need to make some profit, and it's best if you don't anger Miss Yosano there now." He then got up and went to the back where the other employees should be, leaving the customers alone to themselves.
After a few moments of uncomfortable silence a yell was heard. "AHH!" Mina screamed, a bit frustrated at the damp mood, waving her hands in the air as the ever-energetic girl she is. "Come on guys I don't want to think depressing things all day then be more depressed at a party cause I didn't get a nice dress." Her cheerful voice, cutting clear and lifting the spirits of her fellow classmates made most of them smile.
"I agree." Uraraka spoke up. "Besides we shouldn't feel bad about this, but use it to help other people outside of Yokohama."
"Yep yep!" Kaminari butted in, making the others speak up as well and move on from such an atmosphere.
"Woww~ City folks have strong mental durance eh?" Kenji said in an almost sing song manner while Tanizaki, who stood next to him, gave a cold sweat. "Kenji-kun, I don't think you're allowed to make such sentnces seeing how you are..." Remembering how the country boy was the only one who stayed positive throughout the time when they were accused of being terrorists and targeted by Fyodor... The ginger wondered if his co-worker should get that checked out, such postitive attitude cannot be healthy all the time, oh but let's keep it to himself for now. Kenji seems fine and so he has no complaints. Smiling he led the young boy to a clothing section for themselves, followed by Atsushi as his last ones got ripped from a mission he had to wear them for.
Put it simply and honestly, It's calm and happy.
"It seems the trip is going well." Toshinori mentioned to Aizawa, having a joyful look on his face. The two teachers were next to each other side by side.
"Mmm... Seems so." Aizawa replied lazily as he leaned against the chair he sat on, watching his students and the members silently.
I should stop doubting that rat, or whatever he is by now... I should still ask for a pay rise...
Chapter Text
Aizawa would rather be anywhere but here.
It's been a few days since meeting Liam, and the gala that they had prepared for has started. It is an impressive building indeed. The structure itself was vast, with equal amounts of outside and inside spaces. Long tables were set out with a variety of food, and glasses with drinks were arranged beautifully. The lighting from the chandeliers was golden, and it sparkled, causing his eyes to hurt as well.
Standing in the gala, Aizawa watched as other people talked and mingled, refusing to take part himself. For such a fancy occasion, his blond co-worker, not friend, forced him into a suit and had his hair tied up neatly, or as neat as it could get. The said co-worker was next to him, smiling easily and talking about something, probably about the place or their students; gosh, he needs a drink.
"Woah, this place is so cool! I had never been to a gala before!" Mina was bouncing all over the place, running up and down with sparkles in her eyes that matched the dress she chose to wear. The rest of her peers were in a similar state, such as Uraraka gawking at the large establishment and the sheer amount of money it must have cost to build, let alone decorate for this occasion. On the contrary, however, Momo was looking with little interest, already accustomed to such grand events.
"This building is so large and old-fashioned, like in the 21st century," Todoroki commented dryly while looking around with a blank look. He, too, despite being relatively sheltered in his childhood, was used to such expensive affairs, though he was surprised by the grand scale, it was quickly replaced by indifference.
Midoriya stood next to him. He glanced in his direction for a moment before nodding in agreement. "It does actually. Like in those history books!" The green-haired teen exclaimed excitedly at the comparison.
"Well, Miss Yosano did say how it's the city's aesthetic, right? Ribbit." Tsu joined in.
"Well, yes! But.." Midoriya hesitated. He couldn't help the feeling that something else was going on as well. Even if it were the city's aesthetic, surely there should be some technology similar to the rest of the world that's used to make everyday life more comfortable. Even the train models used were centuries old! Is that not inefficient? Maybe it's because they were isolated from the rest of the world, such as tribes in forests and on untouched islands. But even so-
Before he could continue this train wreck of thoughts, a hand was placed on his shoulder. It turned out to be Iida looking with a fond, yet exasperated expression.
"Midoriya, you were muttering again. It became louder, so I assume you don't want any of us to hear it." With a chuckle, Iida patted the other's shoulder a few times before taking his arm back to his own side. Uraraka, who was standing behind Iida, came forward with a worried expression.
"Deku-kun, are you feeling alright? Has anything been troubling you?" She spoke out of concern, but for a brief moment her eyes diverted to a blond boy before she quickly looked back, not wanting to seem as if her attention was on anyone other than her best friend.
Midoriya was slightly taken aback before rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile. "A-ah! Sorry guys, I was thinking out loud." A flush appeared on his cheeks at the revelation that his thoughts were spoken out loud. He hoped no one heard it or bothered to listen.
"Guys! Guys! Come on, there's this large chocolate fountain!" The class's attention was diverted by the excited Mina, who was waving feverishly to get their notice.
With a laugh, they all followed their enthusiastic classmate.
But despite this relaxed atmosphere, Midoriya cannot help but wonder about the nature of this city. Not only how it's run, but how it came to be.
...
"The place looks elegant. I don't think I'll ever get used to such fancy parties." Atsushi spoke up, looking at the decorations with an amazed expression, which soon gave way to tiredness after his second statement.
"Ah, don't worry, Atsushi-kun! I think you look even more fancy. Right, Kyouka-kun?" Dazai gave an easy smile as he turned to look at the younger girl. She nodded, quick to agree.
"Yes, Atsushi, you look very elegant as well."
"Haha, thank you, Kyouka-chan. You look very cute in that dress"
They both gave a smile to each other before hearing a commotion not too far away. Seeing who it was, Atsushi could not help but let out a sigh.
Chuuya was there yelling at Dazai, who had a sly, amused look as he dodged any hits thrown by the shorter male. Atsushi took note of the red stain on his pristine clothes, assuming what had happened, and he also silently wept at the expense of cleaning them. No doubt, the mafioso would only wear the most expensive items available.
Behind the troublesome pair, he saw two siblings talking quietly while they ate the food present. Akutagawa Ryuonsuke and his sister, Gin.
Soon, the younger of the pair was whisked away by members of the Black Lizard, and the other was left alone. It didn't even take a minute for him to lock eyes with Atsushi.
'By god's mercy, I want a peaceful event!' Atsushi mourned the chances of having a silent event when Akutagawa made his way towards him. Atsushi looked to his side, where his sister was, hoping for any support, but she had wandered away with Kenji, who rambled on about the places where certain ingredients came from. Such betrayal!
"Weretiger."
"Akutagawa."
They greeted each other civilly. That's an improvement from the number of times when they met each other, with one of them getting stabbed. After a moment, Atsushi spoke, never one to like awkward silence.
"Why don't you refer to me by my name yet?" He asked tiredly. Then, unable to resist the urge to prod the elder man, he continued. "Is it that you can't remember it? I thought you guys should have some intelligence."
Ah, here comes the stab.
Kunikida had decided to stay with Ranpo and Yosano. Despite the endless gossip they're always on about, it's a sure choice to be with than Dazai and whatever he will do.
He looked on at others, standing near a table filled with sweet delicacies which Ranpo had made a beeline for. They were both sitting, at least one of them in a chair this time, while they chatted away about anything they could think of. Curse their intelligent minds because they never seemed to run out.
Kunikida was also quickly roped into it, despite his initially ignorant attitude towards them, and boredom took over strongly. Although he was thankfully rescued by another government person, wishing to make conversation, which the blonde was all too eager to accept.
Ranpo and Yosano had snickered at his righteous attitude, but he could not care.
Aizawa now had a drink. Multiple, in fact.
And now he had taken notes of many irregularities.
He noted that many dishes were old recipes, despite being popular ones, which were hardly served at banquets, as the organiser would want to show off their wealth. The structure's design was old. Yet the building itself was recently established. Although fashion hasn't aged significantly, he could tell the difference.
Yes, it is easy to chalk it all up to the fact that the city is isolated. But it doesn't seem right. Years of being an underground hero, EraserHead can tell when something is off. And ever since their arrival in the city, the buzz of uncertainty never lessened.
That's when he heard a conversation between two people. One of them, he recognised, was a member of the armed detective agency, and the other seemed to be part of the government.
"Kunikida, right?" The government person asked. Seeing a nod from Kunikida, he continued.
"Thank you, sir. First, I'd like to thank you for what you're agency has contributed to the city."
"It's no problem, sir."
"Ah, well, either way, we are all grateful. But this is not what I wanted to ask." Hearing this, Aizawa became quite intrigued. He felt Toshinori also lean in to listen.
"Kunikida-san. Do you know when we can get back home? To our planet?"
What?
Notes:
Hello guys, sorry for the VERY late update. Exams are over, wohoo! But now I'm on holiday. It never ends, does it?
Anyways I think the plot twist was too early, especially considering the fact the LOV are here as well. Yes I did forget them, yes I had no idea how to include them so they're not here.
If you have any theories please write them. I'd love to hear them and maybe I'll include them.
Chapter 17: Author note.
Chapter Text
Hello guys. This is not a chapter unfortunately, rather I wanted to get some of you guy’s opinions on something. Also don’t worry I’m not dropping the fic.
at first when I wrote the fic I didn’t exactly have a plot in mind, I went with the flow. Admittedly it wasn’t the best idea but yes. And when I started writing as well I had little idea on how to even write a story. I don’t like how I made many characters more oc and I try to fix it.
I like to think my writing has improved and I have a better plot in my head, requests and opinions or criticisms are always welcome to help me improve.
so my question was, do you think I should re write this fic? I genuinely don’t know what I want so I want to ask you. As the reader, you are my audience and I want to satisfy my audience with the best of my abilities.
If you think you would like a rewrite, an improved version then I’ll be happy to do so.
another thing was I have no beta reader or anyone to consult how well I write or what I wrote makes sense. If anyone has free time and wouldn’t mind the cringe I write then that is much appreciated.
It’ll help me keep on track as well haha. I don’t have Snapchat or anything like that so if you’re interested I’ll give you my email unless you know another way to communicate online.
To keep it simple let’s have A, continue the fic, and B, re write it.
i just realised how cruel this may be as i just revealed a plot twist but i just had to say this before i continue the fic.
thank you for reading this and the rest of my fic, please leave a comment on what you’d prefer, more opinions the better.
I’ll keep this up for 2 weeks, maybe 3.

Chapter Text
Todoroki doesn't mind the quirkless city.
I mean, why should he? It doesn't affect him or anyone he knows. It doesn't create any future problems, but what it does, however, is creep him out.
Ah, no, that's not quite right. He isn't scared of the city; that's idiotic, but the idea of the city and its existence eludes his understanding. It gives him a strange feeling: how could something be so excluded from the rest of the world, yet still at the centre of it?
Therefore, it was no surprise that he was interested in the trip when it was announced.
When he went home, he thought it over until dinner. Todoroki didn't know much about the city; it's a well-known fact that it's plagued by quirkless people and criminals, but no more is known about it than that. He spent his time researching it to no avail. Frustrated, but even more curious, he left his desk in favour of the dinner his sister prepared. He told his family over the trip calmly as he took another dumpling; his sister was experimenting with dishes, so this one had a different filling from the one he had before.
Hearing such a statement, his family paused, his elder brother dropped the fish he was about to eat, while his sister nearly dropped her cup. His father, however, stayed calm and seemed lost in thought. In the silence his father left for him to think, his siblings started to protest at such an idea, worried about his safety.
“Shoto, what are you on!”
“That place is way too dangerous for you!”
“You could get hurt!”
But moments later, Endeavour cleared his throat, and they all quietened down.
He spoke short and sharply. "Do whatever you wish."
Hearing this, Todoroki narrowed his eyes. He wondered what option would irritate his father more, but the blunt answer and the immediate continuation with his dinner left him stunned. So he eliminated his father's approval and weighed his options. It is said to be run by dangerous criminals, but it is a quirkless city and he is sure his school will offer sufficient protection. As safety is guaranteed, he took into account his feelings. He was wary of the city; it had no affiliation with anyone outside their bubble, yet this only fuelled his curiosity. With his mind made up, he gave his answer as they finished eating.
"I want to go."
It's been nearly two weeks now. While it only took him a few days to prepare for the trip and ensure he didn't leave anything behind, his school gave students sufficient time to think things through. In the end, only a minority joined them, and surprisingly, someone from class 1-B and 1-C also joined. They were also given the offer, but almost all of them didn't come.
He looked around while waiting for the coach. It will be driven by All Might and Aizawa, so it's safe to assume they are the only two staff members coming with them.
There was a silent buzz of excitement in the air when the coach finally arrived. His classmates went in one by one, and the two who weren't in his class stuck close to each other. It makes sense, he guessed, seeing how they were the only ones not from 1-A. Seeing them interact, however, he wondered if they were already acquainted.
Todoroki doesn't care. He turned away from the pair and sat next to Midoriya. The boy began rambling on about the city and what it's rumoured to be like. Todoroki found it interesting how his friend could know so much about the city, which almost doesn't exist. He listened diligently, hoping to gather more information. And this action was not in vain because his friend promptly started a topic on ability users.
“So Todoroki-kun, I’ve done some research beforehand about the city and came across ability users. It’s incredibly important to know because apparently they have powers but it isn’t considered a quirk. And Yokohama is the only place where they can be safely as they’re very dangerous and the users are usually cruel villains.”
This was interesting now. He didn't know how this information escaped his search, so he took mental notes as Midoriya spoke. As far as he knew now, ability users existed long before quirks. They were a mysterious power that could not be passed down by genetics and may manifest at any given time. The number of people with these abilities did not even reach the thousands. As if to make up for the lack of people, abilities are much more versatile and stronger than quirks, and the people who have them usually turn to villainy.
This now worried Todoroki as the level of danger had just significantly increased. Although he also then doubted that the people with such powers are as trained as pro heroes.
It's been a few hours now, and they arrived in the middle of a dense forest. Hesitantly, they all got out of the coach and stood, most likely waiting for someone. While doing so, he glances at the border now visible. It has a golden-like colour and seems to ripple slightly when things come in contact with it. The visuals reminded him of thick jelly. When he looked up, the border appeared fainter in colour, which made sense, as he hadn't been able to see the border until it was close up. It seems like the border is only visible at a certain distance and the further you are from it, the visibility fades. Huh, no wonder he couldn’t see it until they were this close.
Moments later, he heard some voices. It sounded like two men, but one of them had a purposefully childish tone. He turned towards the sound of the voice. After a moment, two figures emerged and they were, indeed, adult males. One of them was taller with a stern expression, he had dirty blond hair and glasses that highly reminded him of Iida. The other was significantly shorter and wore a brown cape that came to his hips paired with a hat that matches the cape’s colour. He looked younger yet the taller male was using honourifics with him, perhaps he just looks young.
They were arguing about something, but it looked like light banter, so it was safe to say they were close to each other, whether as co-workers or friends.
The smaller male spoke up with a pout on his face: "Kunikida-kun! Why can't you carry me~"
What strange people.
A lot has happened over the last few weeks.
The most jarring aspects were learning about Bakugo and Midoriya's shared past, the fact that villains—the Port Mafia—were allowed to roam free, and seeing the person who, in Todoroki's opinion, would handle the most problematic group, seem so... subdued.
Honestly, he was ashamed that he had lost control and nearly attacked Bakugo. Yet his clouded judgement and pride did not let him apologise; in the moment, he even felt smug at being able to protect his friend. The same could not be said minutes later, of course.
Despite the downs that occurred, he cannot say that this trip was boring at all. The Agency members were always buzzing with energy. On multiple occasions, the youngest one, Kenji, whom he had come to know, brought in a cow. Soon, finding out he was a farm boy through and through, with his love for the cattle he raised, Todoroki cannot help but think of the hypocrisy when the same boy exclaimed that a beef bowl was his favourite dish. Yet his company was enjoyable nonetheless, and he even learned some gardening tips that he will share with his sister when he leaves.
There was also another boy who stuck close to Kenji. A ginger one, hardly older than them. He soon memorised his name to be Tanizaki with his sister Naomi. Like his own sister, Naomi preferred to be called by her first name, while Tanizaki didn't mind. Seeing his last name was easier to pronounce than his first name, he went with that.
Tanizaki reminds him a bit of Midoriya; they both were equally awkward and lovely. Yet Midoriya was much more naïve than the other boy, who seemed wary of the group of outsiders. Maybe this is why Todoroki seemed to gravitate to Tanizaki and Kenji unconsciously. However, the relationship between the Tanizaki siblings made him put some distance between them. How revolting. Todoroki could never imagine doing that with his sister.
Soon, he noticed many similarities between the Agency members and the people he knew. Yosano is similar to Midnight in terms of their attitude. Ranpo reminds him a bit of the principal – what a terrifying thought. Aizawa with Kunikida, and Present Mic with Dazai; they were both equally loud and obnoxious. Kyouka was like Jirou and Tsuyu; it was funny how both Kyouka and Jirou shared the same name – they even looked alike to some extent. He should write this down as a theory. A blinding comparison was meeting Nakahara, Todoroki wondered if he and Bakugo were somehow intertwined. That's a funny thought now.
It's the day after the gala. The event had drained a fair amount of energy from most of the people. Even Mina was quieter than usual, which would have been worrying if he hadn't seen what she was up to only hours ago. I mean, who sees a dancefloor and thinks, "Oh yes, I will spend the next 5 hours dancing without a single break"? Honestly, Todoroki was impressed by the pink-haired girl's stamina and enthusiasm. How on earth does she get tired so easily during physical practice then?
All in all, it was a slow day for both the outsiders and the Agency members.
This never happens. Now, if that doesn't spell disaster, I don't know what does.
"Ranpo-san! We got a case for you. It seems like you need to be there at the site." Atsushi had spoken up, breaking the calm stillness with a buzz of curiosity.
"Ahh, is that so?" Ranpo took the file that Atsushi held out for him, briefly flicking through before dropping it on his desk with a melodramatic sigh mixed with a whine.
"Atsushi-kun, this case seems boring, and I don't know how to use the trains."
"In that case, Ranpo-san, I can accompany you alongside the group of students, it's said we should take them for a few cases to see how we operate."
Most of the students in the office looked up in curiosity. They looked at the elder detective, who was looking away, hand on his chin as if he were in deep thought. However, Atsushi knew better, and begrudgingly added, "We can also visit the cake shop nearby.”
Ranpo’s face lights up. "Oho! I'm sold! Let's leave right now."
"Ranpo-san, we need confirmation from the president.."
“Ah boo…”
The dejected elder detective made his way to the President’s office.
Todoroki was quite excited to see the man in action. He had recently gotten into true crime and is eager to see the self proclaimed ‘Greatest Detective of the World’ live up to his name.
Especially to see how his ability will work.
Notes:
ngl halfway through this chapter I felt like I was writing a documentary. Does it seem like it?
