Chapter Text
After deciding who went where and what they were doing and who was going to be the designated drivers for the night, the bachelor parties could begin.
They were having theirs separate, they did have different friend groups after all.
Reese was going to hang with his group while Duncan got his and their mutual friends.
Duncan, Geoff, Trent, DJ, Harold and Owen went out clubbing for Duncan’s party, which they all unanimously agreed would be stripper-free. Not that Reese had a problem with it, it just seemed kind of sleazy to Duncan.
But they did agree to go to a few bars.
Reese, Noah, Cody, Tyler, Ezekiel, Justin and Alejandro were doing drinks and dinner at home, playing video games and doing a spa night (which Justin practically begged them to do) and Reese was pretty sure Ezekiel would combust if he went to a loud, crowded and flashy club.
The girls sadly had prior obligations, but sent their well wishes and reminders not to get too plastered and Chris said he wasn’t bailing anyone out of jail…
So a nice quiet night of drinking and games was perfect.
Noah wasn’t drinking period and Reese was the only one not drinking heavily but he COULD make a pretty good cocktail. So almost everyone else was pretty smashed pretty fast, while he was only nursing his drink.
‘Oligopoly’ got progressively more heated the more alcohol was consumed, and Justin accused Noah of pilfering his money when he wasn’t looking.
Which he probably was given the big smile on his face, but they couldn’t prove it.
So that went into cards, which Reese wasn’t allowed to play since he’d rob their asses blind even if he wasn’t drunk, so he was watching them lose their shit at each other while playing a game of solitaire by himself. Shouts of ‘you’re making that up! No fuckin’ way that’s in the rules!’ And ‘you can always look it up if you don’t believe me!’ happened every round.
Cody, to everyone surprise, defeated all of them in ‘Excellent Crash Siblings’, and ran Reese off the ‘Muti-Color Space Street’ ten times and kept managing to shoot azure shells at everyone.
As the night wore on, the more drunk everyone seemed to get.
Cody was talking with Noah about something he couldn’t understand, something about inaccuracies in a video game, but they seemed so enthralled in conversation he didn’t interrupt.
“How ya feeling Zeke?” Reese sat next to him on the couch.
Zeke hadn’t been around alcohol before, and he wasn’t looking so good since he’d been throwing back shots like water.
“M’fan…fan…Fuzzy. Buzzy.” He was swaying slightly, slowly blinking “di’ya kno’….co’nuts ‘ave wa’er in th’m?”
“….Okay…I think that’s enough for you.” Reese took the half emptied glass from his hand “let’s get you some water before you puke.”
“Co’nut wa’er?”
“No…I don’t think we have coconut water. Just regular water.”
“…stop the spinnin’?” Zeke mumbled.
“Yeah we’re going to stop the spinning. Wait here and if you have to puke, don’t do it on the carpet.”
Reese started the walk to the kitchen only to pause when he heard his name being called.
“Reese!”
He turned to see Tyler stumbling towards him.
“Yeah?”
Holy shit, he was absolutely hammered.
“Di’ ya know Dunc’n LOVES ‘ou!” Tyler leaned in close.
“Last I checked we were getting married…so yes.” Reese smiled “I do.”.
“Well he loves ‘ou so mush!” Tyler hiccuped “isso nice…li’k Lin’say….” He blinked a few times before smiling dopily “I love Lin’say…”
“Thanks for the update.” Reese laughed “you want some water too?”
“Oh my God….I LOVE water!” Tylerr sighed happily.
Reese just shook his head in exasperation and went to the kitchen, Tyler stumbling behind him to follow.
“¡Mi amigo! ¡Cómo estás!”
“Oh my god…” Reese stopped in his tracks.
Alejandro, was sufficiently tore up from the floor up, flushed and swaying, trying to hold himself up with a big ass grin on his face.
Well…at least he was relaxed?
Reese poured the rest of the cocktail down the sink and rinsed it before filling it with water.
“How you feeling man?”
“M’feelin’ muy bien.” He sighed contently, what remained of what was likely a brightly colored cocktail swirling around an almost empty glass.
“Glad to hear. Drink some water would ya?”
“Yessir!”
Reese handed a glass to Tyler as he passed, leaving the two alone in the kitchen.
Reese sat on the couch to take a breather and handed Ezekiel the glass, who chugged it like a a chap.
The music was still playing just loud enough to hear, and everyone was mulling about, drinking and laughing.
He was feeling pretty buzzed himself while they started the next game of ‘Gangster Street Life III’, which was usually just them breaking every conceivable law they could think of and Reese muttering curse words under his breath as he fled the police in a car he stole.
A few of them did facial masks while they waited for their pizza.
Noah didn’t eat pork, so he got one vegetarian style got him and Justin. Cody and Ezekiel didn’t like peppers so they got one without.
Tyler wanted extra meat, so they got one with half that and half plain for Alejandro.
Reese got half loaded supreme with everything and half olives, peppers and pepperoni and sausage for Duncan when he got back.
By the end of the night, they were tired and ready to head home.
Noah bid him goodbye as he helped the last person to the car to drive them home.
“Be safe!” Reese called out as he dumped the last bit of trash in the garbage can and locked the door behind them.
He was only in bed for an hour when the doorbell rang and he got up to answer.
He peeked out the peephole to see DJ holding Duncan like a rag doll over his shoulder.
“How was your night?” Reese laughed.
“Pretty good. Last stop before I head home. Oh…and check the group message tomorrow.” DJ laughed “this girl hit on him and he went on a ten minute rant about how he was getting married to quote ‘the bestest boyfriend in the world’ then when he realized that he got happy about it and went on ANOTHER rant about how amazing you are. Geoff got it on video.”
Reese smile almost hurt his face “he’s such a sweetheart. Come on honey let’s get you to bed.” Reese supported him as DJ set him down.
Duncan mumbled something incoherently but when he looked up he broke into a big drunken smile “babe! I miss’ you!” hugging Reese tightly.
“I missed you too, you ready to go to bed?”
“Yea’! Best cuddles ever!” Duncan giggled as Reese held him up “I love’ you…”
“I love you too.” Reese smiled at his highly intoxicated boyfriend.
“I’ll leave you to it.” DJ laughed as he left and Reese locked the door behind him.
“Okay honey let’s go to bed.” Reese bean the walk to their bedroom.
——
Reese was already halfway through changing when he noticed Duncan didn’t follow him into the bedroom.
“Duncan? You coming to bed?”
“I can’t…”
Reese paused “why…not?” He asked in confusion.
“Cuz I have a boy’frien’ and m’ married and m’ sure you’re nice…but I love him!”
“Duncan…honey, I’m your boyfriend.” Reese was trying so hard not to laugh “come to bed.”
“No! I have a boyfrien’…” Duncan insisted “I’ll sleep on couch…t’ank ‘ou though. Very nice of you..”
Reese watched in astonishment as Duncan disappeared from the doorway and listened as his steps echoed down the hall, slow thumps as he slowly went down the stairs then stopped.
Reese followed and shook his head at the sight.
Duncan was indeed sleeping on the couch, shoes still on. No pajamas and no blanket.
Reese went to the linen closet and grabbed one to cover him with, his back was going to hurt tomorrow but nothing Reese couldn’t make better with a back rub.
“You’re the best mi faro. So sweet.” Reese kissed his cheek.
Duncan mumbled something back but smiled.
——
The next morning Duncan groaned at the sunlight hitting his face “baaaaaabe…..” he groaned “close the curtains….”
No response.
“Babe?” Duncan blinked, hissing at the sunlight.
He wasn’t in the bedroom.
He was on the couch.
What happened last night?
Last he remembered he was trying to stop Trent from climbing on the stage to perform with the band.
“Morning honey.” Reese’s voice was low, and he was carrying a breakfast tray “how you feeling?”
“Like I got ran over…what happened last night?”
“Oh well…”Reese was trying hard not to laugh “DJ said that a girl was flirting with you at the bar and you weren’t having it. Went on a spiel about getting married that turned into an ‘I love my boyfriend’ rant.”
“Oh…” Duncan flushed but smiled a bit, biting a piece a bacon “what else?”
“When DJ brought you back you got excited to see me. But somehow between the front door and the bedroom you forgot where you were and refused to come to bed because you had a boyfriend.”
“Oh…is that why…”
“Yeah. I couldn’t carry you upstairs again so I tucked you in.”
Well that was embarrassing…
“Don’t worry. It was very sweet an i appreciate the gesture.” He kissed his cheek “how was your party?”
“Great! Yours?”
“Pretty fun. Played some video games, had some drinks, and Noah’s not allowed to be banker anymore.”
Duncan laughed only to wince at the pounding in his head “how come you’re not hungover?” He mumbled, finishing off his toast.
“Because I don’t pound back jägerbombs like a frat boy.” Reese kissed his cheek “finish your breakfast. I’ll run you a bath.”
“With-“
“With the lavender bath salts. Of course.”
“You’re the best…”
Reese smiled and nuzzled him “you keep telling me. You’re the best too.”
“Love you so much….glad I’m marrying you.”
“I’m glad I’m marrying you too.”
