Who knew taking a break would break the world?

Summary:

Despite her protests Sakazuki is made to take a vacation, which happens to be at Foosha Village in the East Blue.

Sengoku is worried about the mental health of his Admirals, Garp is scheming, Borsalina and Kuzan are around as moral support or just to watch everything go down.

a Dragon and Crocodile either need to fight or come to an agreement about a certain Admiral.

TLDR; Sakazuki becomes the mother to the ASL boys and chaos ensues.

Notes:

Firstly because I know this will be the most asked question, No Sakazuki is not the biological mother to Luffy this will be elaborated in the story below so don’t ask.

Secondly yes I will pairing Borsalina with someone but I can’t decide who, one hand wants Whitebeard the other wants Benn Beckmann, I’ll let you guys help me out with that.

Thirdly, as it says in the notes this is a gender bender story, don’t like it don’t read it and don’t put hate on this story, thank you for the views though.

Chapter 1: Sakazuki need a break

Chapter Text

If asked to describe the admiral Akainu the most used words would be scary and monster followed closely by stern or intense, not even the other admirals were exempt from this rule as the tired ice admiral Aokiji would call her “scarier than any pirate she’s encountered”  while the soft spoken light admiral Kizaru would say “Zuki is just stressed, she’s really nice deep deep deep deep deep down in her heart” and though Akainu may not say it out loud, that while to outsiders the three admirals may look like just colleagues,but to anyone who truly knows the three would say they are more like sisters. No one knows this fact better than the Fleet Admiral Sengoku, who along with Garp has seen these three girls blossom into strong leaders today, which is why he had all three of them in his office for a less than important meeting.

“Sir please forgive me for sounding rude but am I being fired?” The words were said with a restrained voice from the Magma devil fruit user, Sengoku was awestruck by what she asked “what? No! Never! You are one of my best marines” he rambled on confusing the woman even more “but sir you spoke about taking a break?” Luckily, an angelic bell-like voice spoke up from beside her “Zuki, I think he means like a vacation where you don’t worry about work, or anything that gets you stressed” “yes thank you Borsalina. Zuki .. uh Sakazuki… I had just noticed that you had been working extremely hard and while that is a good thing I’m just worried that you might experience a bit of a burnout”. “I don’t follow sir” Akainu shook her head at his words still looking very confused and that’s when a cool but lazy voice speaks “if she don’t want it then I will gladly take it” Aokiji’s words earned her a scathing look from both Akainu and Sengoku but both were ignored by the Ice admiral. Kizaru had a different reaction “Kuzza be nice, this vacation could be good for Zuki, it’s a miracle she looks as good as she does with how hard she works” Akainu slowly turns her scathing look to the older woman who blinks cluelessly at her “what? Did I say something wrong?” Akainu thinks before speaking “whatever you think you are doing … please stop I’m not taking this vacation,” before Sengoku could interrupt Akainu continues this time talking to him “,it’s a generous offer but let’s be realistic where can I go where I won’t be trying or thinking about work since you so desperately want me to go on this ‘break’”.

Sengoku didn’t answer right away as Akainu was right, as he thought he looked over the girls; Kizaru ‘thinks she’s so sly by doing crossword puzzles instead of paperwork’ Borsalina the oldest, Aokiji ‘will leave work to ride her bike any chance she gets’ Kuzan the youngest and finally Akainu ‘a very small fuse away from buster calling the five elders and the rest of the celestial dragons’ Sakazuki the middle child, he cared about each one but won’t be lying that Akainu does worry him at times. Which is why he wasn’t so mad that Garp decided at that point to barge into the room via the wall. “Dammit Garp can’t you use the bloody door!” Sengoku shouts to an unbothered Garp “make them big enough to fit me and I will” Garp chewed his words out as he ate from a packet of rice crackers, he greets the girls by petting their heads and they respond in kind; Salina preening, Zuki pulls her cap off to fix an already immaculate bun before putting the cap back on again and Kuzza only lifts a hand to grab a few crackers herself to eat, Garp looked at the three proudly “what seems to the issue here Senny?” He asks his old friend, who rubbed his forehead stressed before answering “well I was just saying to Sakazuki here that she deserves to take a break  but she’s not quite sure where to go on holiday”, before Akainu could elaborate Garp let out a big guttural laugh “what? Are you kidding me? That’s easy. I'll take her to the East and show her my home island, very little happens there. It'll be stress free for you Zuki and the island is huge so you won’t run out of things to fill your time with”.  “Well that settles things,” Sengoku replies cheerfully to the applause and groan of Kizaru and Aokiji, Akainu stood up and tried to interject “now hold on a minute I did not agree to this” but Sengoku and Garp ignored her “great so Sakazuki will spend a week on Foosha village?” “Hold up Senny, why a week?” “She’s more than welcome to request more time off but this is just to get her settled into the idea of taking a break” “fair enough alright just sign off and I’ll take her first thing in the morning”. Akainu had no idea what to do as she helplessly watches the two older men arrange her vacation without involving her at all, for one instance she thought this was how Dragon said he felt when joining the marines, in one signing of a pen her life was signed away to a week at Foosha village for ‘vacation’.

It was the next day and already Sakazuki, dressed out of her marine uniform but kept her Hawaiian shirt, switch her skirt for jeans and slipped her hair out of the bun and into a high ponytail, was standing at the Bow of Garp’s ship as they made their way to Foosha village, the fleet admiral himself walked up behind the woman, “so here’s how this goes you stay here for a week, relaxing and I mean it; go for walks, get passed out drunk, origami or just talk to people I know there’s a lovely young lady that works at the Party’s bar or even Wool Slap the mayor I feel like you would get along” Garp elaborates. Sakazuki nods “alright I think I can do that” she answers honestly but Garp wasn’t finished “now there is one rule, no doing work or anything related to work, you have absolutely no power here and cannot make any arrest or inform the fleet admiral about anything here because anything you try to report has to go through me first. Keep that in mind, also a small transponder snail has been placed into your bag to use only for informing us if you want to extend your break or come back to work” Garp finishes his warning to her before they dock and she gets left in the new environment. Making her way to her hotel room and unpacking her bag, which she found was mostly dresses, skirt, a couple of pants and puzzle books courtesy of Salina and Kuzza being in charge of packing her bag for her, afterwards she had no idea what to do now, seeing that it was close to dinner time perhaps going to the Party’s bar wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Back at Marineford Sengoku was having a private discussion with Garp, the fleet admiral was sitting in his chair with his goat standing on his desk while the vice admiral was sitting on the couch munching away on rice crackers. “Garp we’ve known each other for a long time right?” “Right” came Garp’s muffled response around the snack “and you would let me know of any schemes you have planned, especially those that involve my admirals” Sengoku aimed a glare at the unbothered man across from him. Garp finished munching on his snack before standing up at his full height “Sengoku you are my friend and you have my respect for becoming the Fleet Admiral, against better judgement, but trust me that I know what I’m doing”, Sengoku’s glare doesn’t give as he slowly stood to his full height, which matched Garp’s, and taking a deep breath to curb his anger he speaks “tell me Garp why would sending my best officer to the same village that you raised your revolutionary  son in, BE A GOOD IDEA”. Garp wasn’t fazed at all by the screaming which caused many of the passing lower officers to send worried glances to the door but decide to not Interiot for fear of repercussions, Garp gives a raucous laughter that earned a similar reaction from outside “who knows Senny …. maybe they’ll reconnect and I can get some grandbabies that will actually become good marines hahahaha” and Garp left the conversation and the room ignoring Sengoku’s yells for him to come back.

Chapter 2: Ace: jungle boy

Summary:

Sakazuki’s second day on Dawn Island and she decides to explore the jungle which has an unusual sight of a young boy that she can’t help but care for.

Notes:

Hey guys I know it’s been a while but after flipping a coin I decided she would meet Ace and had to rewrite a few paragraphs because I couldn’t decide when I wanted this to be. But it’s done now and I hope you all enjoy.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Waking up the next day in a hotel room was a feeling unfamiliar to Zuki, though she supposes she should get used to this for a week, already the second day and she wonders what she should be doing. After going to Party’s Bar yesterday and talking with the young woman Makino it turns out Foosha village isn’t that big, though she did say the Goa Kingdom was a place for nobles and gambling while the jungle is home to fearsome beasts, flipping a coin it was decided she would explore the jungle. It would be a good idea to not wear anything restrictive so she put on a comfy shirt, jean shorts, her boots and putting her hair in another ponytail, almost on reflex she was putting on her marine hat but deciding against it after all she wasn’t here on work, once outside she looked up at the mountain road sighing at the long trek.

It seemed to take several hours before she was in the thick of things, looking around she really was enjoying seeing all the jungle flora, when her path was blocked by a rampaging Tiger. She was caught off guard but thinking fast she swiftly avoided a bite and powered up her fist to bring it down with one punch in the chest “hey no fair that tiger lord was supposed to be my kill!” Looking up at the closest tree she was quite surprised to see a young boy looking no older than 8 crouched on a branch, “oh you were hunting this beast?” She asked him as he jumped down to another branch closer to her height “yeah it was gonna be my lunch and I don’t care about your freaky hand I will fight you for it!” Zuki shakes her head as her hand goes back to normal “uh I’d rather avoid fighting you,” “don’t you dare think I’m too weak, I will bust your kneecaps lady” he interupts her but she swiftly replies “,I was actually going to suggest we share the meat as there appears to be enough here for two, maybe more, sound fair?”

The mysterious jungle boy took some time to think about it “well okay but you gotta listen to me and follow my every order ya got it?” Well Sakazuki would say he needs some manners but does accept his demands, watching as he jumps down and lifts the large beast up over his shoulders, Zuki is impressed that he didn’t even seem to be slowed down by the weight, “um pardon me but are you sure you don’t want my help carrying the tiger?” The boy took her words in a bad way “you think I can’t handle it, I’m not weak I’m stronger than I look lady” this is the exact reason Sakazuki didn’t think she would be able to handle children “actually I was offering my help out of politeness” she replies only to receive a “I don’t need it lady” making her sigh, this little boy was acting like a certain vice admiral she knows. It only took five minutes of walking till they make it to a small clearing, made from rocks, the boy then drops the tiger and turns to her “alright you stay here and guard our food while I go check some sticks for fire” she couldn’t exactly refuse so she did as he ordered and sat next to the body of the dead tiger.

She waited another few minutes before he came back with a knife, quite a few sticks and even some logs. He arranged the sticks in a pile for fire, before he started to try for a flint Zuki stopped him and using her magma powers heated the logs enough for a fire to start and together they worked to skin and cut up pieces of meat, putting them on sticks in a mock kebab, before letting them cook. During this whole process Zuki noticed that the boy seemed quieter than he was previously, so while they were waiting she spoke up “look since we are eating together it would be good to introduce ourselves to be polite, my name is Sakazuki, and what’s yours?” The boy looked at her strangely before answering “it’s Ace”, and they were back in silence but the meat did cook well and Zuki watched as Ace tore into the meal like a ravaged animal, tearing off pieces with his teeth and hands, bits of food flying everywhere. He eats like Garp she thinks as she eats, a bit less ravenous but still tearing off pieces with her teeth, surprisingly it was good and she can certainly see how Garp could become the man he was today.

After two sticks she was full, though Ace had eaten about five before he stopped, and before she could stop herself she already was pulling him closer to wipe the bits of meat off from around his mouth “hey lady! What the hell, you doing?” He was thrashing around but she held him firmly as she wiped using her sleeve “don’t be so brash, I’m just cleaning your face” she finished and allowed him to push away though he still sat beside her “you aren’t my mum lady!” She glared at him a little from that “well I’m sure wherever she is, she wouldn’t want wild animals trying to eat your face because they smell food” he glared back at her “she’s dead, I don’t have a mum”. That admission rocked her to her core, especially the way he said it matter of factly with little to no emotion, “oh I see … I’m sorry for your loss”  she says feeling remorse even as he shrugs looking away “doesn’t matter I never knew her, she died when I was born or so I was  told” she couldn’t help but look down at him, he was so young and yet acted as if he had been alone his whole life it wasn’t right, “I never knew my mother either,” she moved closer to him as she continued “,she also died in childbirth”. Though she wasn’t looking at him, she did see him look at her less aggressive as before, it wasn’t much but she could tell that Ace might have needed that bit of connection “you know you seem to know this jungle a whole lot,” he did preen a little “yeah I know this whole place like the back of my hand. I know this whole place from Foosha village to the high town and the Grey Terminal.” she enjoyed seeing him smile before continuing “,well I’m gonna be staying here for a bit and it would be helpful for me to have a guide" "yeah so what?” She had to stop herself from rolling her eyes at him “Ace will you please be my guide for this island while I’m here?” She asked him outright and she could see him looking unsure so she figured she’d sweeten the deal “I can help you hunt more food” that seemed to do the trick and he agreed.

Seeing the sky starting to darken, Sakazuki stands up, dusting herself off, “well it’s looking late, perhaps I can walk you back to your house”. Ace shakes his head “nah I’ll be fine lady” “you know my name Ace, you can use it” she tells him with a smile. He gives her one back “I’ll be fine Sakazuki but you might need some help out of here, some animals hunt at night, I could show you the way out to Dadan’s place and then you can head back to the village from there” he was acting like he wasn’t truly worried about her but she knew the truth. “Well I would like that very much thank you Ace” she accepted his help and let him guide her out of the jungle, she could tell that he definitely knew his way around, she wonders if Garp knows about Ace living in the jungle seemingly alone, She wondered if maybe she should stay longer just for Ace, but she doesn’t know him well enough for that.

The way out didn’t take as long to Zuki’s surprise as they came out to an empty cliff with a single house, by this point the sun had gone down but there were a few stars out, “so this is Dadan’s place?” She asks him, “yeah the hag is the leader of a group of mountain bandits but she ain’t so bad, sometimes, anyway just follow the trail and you’ll be back in the village” he directs her eyes to the trail and she nods to show she understood. “Well maybe I’ll see you tomorrow” Ace nods “yeah … oh and since you’re new here just a tip it might get cold tomorrow night, so keep a small fire on while you sleep” it was cute how he tried to act so cool but did warn her, which she was very grateful for as she says bye walking till he couldn’t see her anymore and then watching in secret as he enters the house, she could hear a woman’s loud voice ask where he’s been out of what could be frustration and maybe concern.

Well at least he was in a sorta safe place, feeling content about his whereabouts she headed down the mountain back to her temporary home. Though she couldn’t seem to get Ace off her mind, he was a seemingly orphaned boy living maybe with bandits or maybe living in the woods filled with animals larger than himself, she debated whether or not to call Sengoku and let him know about the young boy. However, she’s only been here for two days and if she does call it will go to Garp first but remembering how Dragon turned out perhaps that would only do more harm than good. Arriving at her room she decides that for now she won’t call but will keep in touch for Ace, though she doubts a week will be able to change much for the young boy, but maybe tomorrow she can get a better chance to get to know him.

Notes:

In case anyone is confused by the names,
Sakazuki = Akainu
Borsalina = Kizaru
Kuzan = Aokiji

Sakazuki will stay professional about names same as Sengoku mostly
Kuzan doesn’t care same with Garp
Borsalina doesn’t care and uses nicknames when she likes you, if she doesn’t like you fear the day she uses your full name.
