”Are you okay, princess?”
Mingi didn’t answer as Yunhos voice filled the quiet dark room. The light from the hallway peeking into the darkness where Mingi laid on the bed, wrapped up in his blanket.
He didn’t know how much time had passed since he let himself fall ontop of the bed, it could have been minutes or maybe even hours, he really wasn’t sure. But there he was, curled up beneath the warm blanket surrounded by darkness.
It was kind of cheesy. Laying in your room wrapped up in your blanket in the dark, it seemed almost like a scene straight ouf of a cheesy movie. But Mingi didn’t really care.
“Mingi?”
Yunhos voice was closer now. Mingi could feel how the bed dipped behind him as Yunho sat down on, a hand reaching out to be placed against Mingis back.
“Could you turn around for me, baby?”
Mingi listened, moving his head to look back at Yunho. It felt heavy, as if his head had turned into stone. Mingi decided he wouldn’t move anymore.
“Did something happen? Do you wanna talk about it?” Yunho looked concerned, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at his boyfriend. Mingi just stared back up at him, he had no energy to utter even a single word. “Can I lay down with you?”
Mingi decided to go back on his word and pushed himself to move over on the bed, allowing Yunho to join him. He let himself lift up the end of the blanket for Yunho to crawl beneath it, to join him in the warmth and comfort of the bed.
Yunho didn’t say anything as he laid down, wrapping his arms around Mingi as the other wrapped the blanket around them. They laid there together in silence, surrounded by the darkness and the one string of light that shone into the room from the door Yunho hadn’t closed.
Words couldn’t describe what Yunho was to Mingi, a boyfriend, a best friend, a soulmate? There wasn’t really a good enough word to describe what Yunho really was. Mingi could feel comfort with just being in the presence of Yunho, to hear his voice or smell his perfume, anything relating to Yunho helped Mingi to hold on.
The world felt less scary with Yunho in it, he was like the anchor to his ship. The world wouldn’t have been right if Yunho wasn’t in Mingis life, they were meant to be together. To be by each others side until the end of time, until they couldn’t be anymore.
“Mingi, please talk to me.”
Mingis head moved to look up at Yunho, meeting his eyes in the dark room. Yunho stared down at him, his beautiful face scrunched into concern.
“I’m okay.” Mingi mumbled, still staring into the eyes of the man in front of him. The one person he wished to be with until the end time would rip him away. “Don’t lie to me, Mingi.” Yunho sighed.
Mingi felt bad. Bad about the fact that he was the reason behind the concerned look on Yunhos face and bad about the fact that he didn’t feel like talking.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it right now, but you can’t keep pushing yourself away from me and bottling everything up inside on your own,” Yunhos hand drew uncalculated patterns on Mingi’s back, his head moving closer to plant a kiss on Mingis forehead. “I’m here for whenever you need me, princess. Don’t shut me out.”
Mingi felt a pang of guilt shoot though his heart. He closed his eyes and moved his face away from Yunho, pushing it against his chest instead.
“M’sorry.” He mumbled against Yunho’s chest, letting a tear spill past his closed eyelids.
Yunho kept quiet, his hands moving to touch and caress Mingi anywhere he could reach. To help remind Mingi that he was there, that he wasn’t alone and that Yunho would always be there.
There was a lot Mingi wanted to say. But he was scared. Scared that all his emotions would spill over and push Yunho away from him, that it would be too much for him to share and that it would make Yunho walk away from him.
So he kept quiet. Bottling his feelings up inside despite Yunhos pleads for him to talk to him. He couldn’t help it. Keeping his feelings to himself was something Mingi was too familiar with, something he had done long enough for it to be a struggle to step away from.
“I love you.” Mingi whispered against his chest, pushing himself even closer against Yunho.
“I love you too, Mingi.”
Mingi wished he could freeze time. He wished that he could stay like this forever, wrapped in the arms of the one he loves the most beneath the comfort of their blanket. He wished that everything could have been okay, that the world would go on without any obstacles.
He wished he could listen to the soft compliments Yunho would whisper into his ears as they laid in bed together for the rest of eternity. Mingi wished that his future would be filled with Yunho and Yunho only. As long as he had Yunho by his side he wouldn’t need anything else.
“You’re my everything.” Mingi whispered against his chest, unsure if he had even heard him.
If Yunho had heard him, he didn’t say anything as he kept rubbing his hand up and down Mingis back.
Mingi felt Yunhos lips press against the top of his head, the vibration of a hum shooting through his body. And in that moment Mingi let himself drown in the arms of his boyfriend, letting the world dissolve around them as a small smile spread across his lips.
