This never happens: Sukuna is distracted.
Yuji, after being blasted away, tries to follow his line of sight but it's no use. Sukuna's last punch rattled his entire body and everything is still a little blurry. It's hard to focus but he tries anyway. This isn’t over yet. He’s gotta give it all he’s got.
When he finally recognizes the shape emerging from the fog, his mind is overwhelmed with a strange and elated confusion. Gojo is back?
Gojo is back. Miraculously, he's alive and rejoining the fight. Just in the nick of time too.
It doesn't make any sense to Yuji but there he is, in the flesh, and somehow in one piece. Of course Yuji doesn't understand everything, that’s to be expected. Of course sensei had another trick up his sleeve. He's just that good. Gojo has always been on another level.
For one brief second, Yuji is relieved; they might win this after all. For one brief second, he feels silly for nearly losing hope.
Yuji rises on shaky legs and spits up the blood in his mouth, readying himself to fight alongside his awe inspiring sensei. Right as he notices the stitches on Gojo's forehead, he hears Sukuna call out the name Yuta Okkotsu. And all his joy shrivels into rotten, heart-sinking horror.

No no no no, this can't be true.
Kenjaku’s innate technique…
They wouldn't...
"Brother?" Todo calls out but Yuji doesn't hear him.
This isn't happening.
There's been some kind of a mistake.
A trick of Sukuna’s perhaps?
They wouldn't use sensei Gojo's body as a weapon. They wouldn't defile him. They wouldn't take his proper death from him. Would they…?
But then both Sukuna and Gojo are unleashing their domains and there’s suddenly very little time to think about anything other than surviving.
