Summary:

Between couch surfing and studying for the MCATs, Lena Walsh lands herself the perfect job as a live-in nanny for an adorable two year old. The only complication is that her boss Kara Danvers is single, hot, and filthy rich. When Lena is introduced to the soccer star's family, their mutual attraction results in a simple misunderstanding that forces them to pretend to be a couple.

The other issue is that they can't seem to keep their hands off of each other.

Chapter Text

Lena Walsh became a ward of the state at age five. In the thirteen years she lived in foster care, she moved around to seven different homes. She had an expert’s grasp on how to fit her belongings into small spaces, which helped in more than one situation when she found herself without a place to stay.

For her first two years of college, couch surfing and pet-sitting kept a roof over her head during winter and summer breaks. Life in the city was expensive, and Lena struggled to afford all of her books and supplies. Her laptop was ten years younger than her and often froze in the middle of writing papers. She had a free meal plan covered by her scholarship, but in the long stretches of summer, she budgeted strictly just to eat.

On a frequent basis, Lena walked by the job board on her campus, and in between writing papers and finishing her degree, she realized she had a talent for working with kids. She earned good money from babysitting and a lot of couples told her that she had a gift for rocking babies to sleep.

One of her more terrible foster mothers had told her she had two career choices as an omega coming out of the system: prostitution or a low-paying job as a caretaker of pups. Lena hated that home, but she never internalized those lessons. She liked taking care of pups and respected omegas who chose to be full time mothers, teachers or nannies.

In time, Lena finished her degree and made plans to go on to medical school. Most of her friends signed themselves up for unpaid internships or took the summer off to travel. Unlike the rest of her peers, Lena needed some kind of work while she studied for the MCAT. She also had to find a place to live after moving out of her dorm.

One afternoon, Lena came across a job listing for a full-time, live-in nanny. The same day she submitted her application, she received a phone call from a secretary to arrange an interview.

She took two trains the next morning to arrive at 52 Hope Street, a luxury single-family home with its own estate manager.

Winn Schott greeted her at the door in a suit and tie. “You must be Lena Walsh. I’m Winn Schott, manager of the house.”

Lena foolishly uttered the first thoughts that came to mind. “I didn’t know a house required management.”

From the way Winn smiled tensely back at her, she could tell she had misspoken. Winn gestured to one of the grand parlors. “You see that door? It’s bespoke timber. Everywhere you turn in this house, there’s finery that needs to be maintained. Kara Danvers doesn’t have time for that. She doesn’t even have time to spend with her own child.”

Lena cringed at that assessment of her new boss and meekly looked at the gleaming floor underneath her feet.

“I don’t say that critically,” Winn continued midstride and opened the grand double doors into a spacious home office. “Kara is one of the most caring people I’ve ever met, but recent years have been a challenge for her. It’s going to take a special person to work here and look after Mia. Are you that person?”

Lena chewed her lip in uncertainty and didn’t get the chance to answer because Kara Danvers stepped into the office.

Kara halted just to look Lena over, and her lips parted in fascination that was slow at fading from her face. “I can take over from here, Winn.”

Lena found herself drawn into the shared moment of gawking and nearly missed the chair that Kara pulled back for her.

“Please sit,” Kara encouraged, holding onto the backing of the seat until Lena was safely settled.

Reading the job description had given away no details about Kara Danvers, other than her busy lifestyle. Lena guessed she would be meeting an older alpha, possibly mid-forties – not someone who was clearly in her late twenties or early thirties. Kara’s face was like a masterpiece of sculpture—her skin clear and bronze, and her teeth in perfect rows of white. Her custom-tailored navy suit was a bit restrictive around her biceps as she moved.

Working in that environment could be a hazard for Lena since she picked up on an immediate sexual chemistry with her boss.

“You can get better acquainted with Winn later.” Kara accepted a folder from the estate manager’s hand and drifted around the desk to set it down. “I looked at your resume again this morning and you seem more than qualified for the position. The families you’ve worked for in the past have nothing but wonderful things to say. Their pups adore you.”

Lena hoped to make the same kind of impression not only on Kara’s pup, but also on Kara. She sat a little higher in her chair with the need to please. “I might get flack for saying this, but I have two main ambitions in life. I want to become a doctor and a mom. I don’t come from a big family. I’d like to have one of my own someday. In the meantime, it’s nice to help others who have kids.”

She rarely ever admitted that she had a total lack of family in general—not even one person in her corner. That would inspire others to pity her, and that wasn’t the sentiment she wanted to feel from Kara.

So far, she wasn’t getting those vibes at all. Had they met in any other setting outside of a job interview, Lena was almost certain they would have been exchanging numbers if not a whole lot more.

Kara leaned over the desk and clasped her hands on top of it. “I like your energy and your goals. It might be a bit unorthodox to run a background check before the interview, but you already filled out the consent forms. I handled all of that first thing today because I was hoping you wouldn’t mind starting with us immediately. There’s this important event tonight and I need someone right away.”

Lena followed along as Kara stood up and led her through the five-story house. “I would just need to pick up a few boxes from a friend’s apartment.”

“I’ll send someone to get those,” Kara offered and texted someone the request straight away. “Later tonight, my staff will have your living space ready.”

They wandered until they came to a beige play room where an awkward-looking beta was waiting for them. He sat hunched forward in a chair, attempting to read a book to Kara’s busy toddler.

“Oh, you’re back! I’m Brian, but friends call me Brainy.” The beta looked all too happy to shake Lena’s hand and turn over the picture book.

Kara had a look in her eye that was different — more withdrawn and uneasy than the average parent checking in on their child. “Lena – this is Mia. She just turned two, but she doesn’t talk yet. Mia, do you want to say hi to Lena?”

Mia’s sparkling blue eyes landed on Lena and her whole face brightened in a smile. She came right to Lena and reached out with chubby little her arms.

“I try to carve out time in my day to spend with Mia.” Kara combed the toddler’s dark curls with her fingers until Lena lifted her up. “We go on a walk to the park every afternoon, we eat dinner together every night, and as much as my schedule allows, I like to be here in the evenings. I would still need your help during those hours just in case I’m dragged away.”

Lena pieced together an idea of what her days would be like and returned Mia’s smile. “I can work with that. Assuming Mia will have me.”

They received no clear answer from Mia, apart from the toddler tucking her face into Lena’s neck and cuddling like she wanted to nap.

Brainy tapped his finger against his chin and provided his own analysis. “I’m no expert in child psychology, but it would seem that Mia is content.”

“It’s a good time for us to leave then.” Kara glanced at her Rolex watch, kissed one of Mia’s cheeks and rushed off to attend to business.

Brainy pulled out a brand new phone and passed it to Lena along with a typed schedule of Mia’s activities. “This should be everything you need to get started. I’ve added the number of every relevant member of Kara’s staff to your contacts’ list.”

“Oh, thank you,” Lena replied as she balanced the baby in her arms and took the other items. “If I have any questions, is there a specific person I should talk to?”

“Kara.” Brainy reached for a backpack he left on the floor and prepared to leave. “Despite being a very in-demand and high-profile person, she tries to be active in Mia’s life.”

Lena wished she had known the name of her employer beforehand so she could look up more information about her. “What is it that Kara does for work? I’m sure I’ve heard of the Danvers family before.”

“Kara is a professional athlete, but she also helps out with the Danvers Foundation. She sits on the Board of directors for many family-owned businesses and other companies. Today she has training until noon and two meetings scheduled.”

Given his casual clothing and direct social manner, it was hard to figure out Brainy’s role in working with Kara. He didn’t seem like the type to care about athletics, and Lena decided she should look him up later.

“I’m sure we’ll bump into each other again, but my number is in your phone if you have any more immediate questions for me.” Brainy motioned to the device and headed to the door. “Have a good day with Mia.”

Lena peered down at the full list of Mia’s daily activities, which resembled a school schedule:

8 a.m. - 9 a.m. - Breakfast.

9 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Flex Time in play room.

10 a.m. - 11 a.m. - Baby gymnastics at GymBaby.

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - French lessons with Pierre Joyeux.

12 p.m. - 1 p.m. – Lunch.

1 p.m. - 2 p.m. -  Nap time.

2 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Flex Time, nanny-led learning activities.

5 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Dinner.

6 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Bath and bedtime.

You’re taking French?” Lena asked the baby in her arms, who seemed to face-palm and flop over. “Parlez-vous Français, Mia? I’m sure you’ll be talking soon. Maybe your brain is still processing all of the words you’ve learned.”

For the time being, Mia could communicate by pointing. She gestured to a bunny resting on a very small chair and Lena settled onto the floor so Mia could grab her stuffy.

“Buh-buh,” Mia declared, hugging the long-eared rabbit and dropping down on the floor to get better leverage for twisting the bunny’s whiskers. She gave up fast and turned around to play with a bunch of fake food.

For a while, Lena made up a game about a bunny who liked to go around collecting fruit from gardens.

Mia clapped her small hands together and shrieked in delight at the voice Lena created for the bunny.

By the end of their first hour together, Lena was excited about her new job and eager to bond with Mia.

Lena soon realized why the toddler was enrolled at GymBaby. She pushed Mia down the tree-lined streets in her stroller and arrived in under five minutes. Besides being a convenient location, the building connected to a GymAlpha, and Lena peered through the adjoining glass to see Kara working her muscular upper body at a rowing machine.

Mia was smart enough to know when to unbuckle herself from the stroller. She hopped inside a room with mats, practicing the froggy jump that her instructor must have taught her.

“Good jumps, Mia!” The instructor praised and put out her hand to greet Lena. “I’m Megan Jones. I’ve been Mia’s personal trainer since she was born.”

Lena wanted to laugh at the absurd spending of the mega-rich, but she kept a straight face. “Mia seems very well coordinated for a two-year-old. I’ll just sit in the lobby and wait for her.”

Megan didn’t protest her suggestion, no doubt because wrangling toddlers without distraction was hard enough.

Tomorrow Lena would remember to bring along some of her books to cram in an hour of studying while Mia attended her gym session.

With nothing else to do, Lena found her eyes wandering to Kara. She tried to be discreet about it, though with only glass separating them, it must have been obvious that she gawked more than once.

The sheer power Kara displayed was nothing to the determination on her face. She looked lost in thought, serious and tight-lipped as she rowed.

Kara’s focus didn’t exactly break when she locked eyes with Lena, but she did go harder on the machine.

Sweat left Kara’s skin glossy and Lena experienced a warmth that spread across her chest. She tried to look away, but the performance was captivating and Lena fixated on the muscular definition of Kara’s arms.

She realized she had stared for too long when Kara finished her set and appeared ready to stride over.

Lena made a valiant attempt to look busy by browsing the contacts list in her new phone. She scrolled through a dozen numbers and then back again without reading a single name, and nearly jumped when Kara politely cleared her throat.

“I know what you’re thinking,” Kara stated a little breathlessly and looked Lena dead in the eye. She wiped the sweat from her face with a towel that she then slung over the back of her neck.

Lena hoped that wasn’t true, and blinked so that her gaze didn’t drop to Kara’s gym shorts. “Do you?” She asked with a tense smile and set the phone aside as Kara sank onto the seat beside her.

“Yeah. How pretentious do I have to be to send my toddler to the gym?” Kara’s smile was a little lopsided as if she hadn’t fully committed to it. She motioned to the window where she could observe Mia bouncing on a tot-sized trampoline with a handlebar. “I’m not trying to force her into athletics. I’m just hoping she’ll build confidence and maybe make a few friends. The social interaction could help her.”

Lena wasn’t entirely sure how candid she could be with Kara, even though she naturally wanted to offer reassurance. Her compassion won out over her common sense in the end, and she touched Kara’s arm without considering how it may come across. “There are a lot of toddlers that don’t talk at Mia’s age, and it’s no fault of the parents. Mia is a very smart, well-engaged child. I don’t think you have anything to worry about in that regard.”

Kara’s scent turned intrigued and she appraised Lena with a look that seemed to linger on her lips “So this is why your previous employers praised you so much. You’re great with everyone, not just their kids. Is there anything else you’re good at that I should know about, Lena?”

Lena ignored the list of explicit things she wanted to say and dipped her chin to her chest. She concealed the flirtatious notes to her pheromones and breathed in the spice of Kara’s scent. “I think you’re giving me a little more credit than I deserve. I’ve barely started. Shouldn’t you at least wait a week before dishing out compliments?”

Kara grinned at the flustered pink of Lena’s cheeks and shrugged like she wasn’t deliberately teasing her. “If I did that, what incentive would you have to stay?”

“Oh, there’s a few that come to mind,” Lena uttered with an appalled glance at Kara’s biceps before she could think to stop herself.

It was too late, and Kara not only noticed, she flexed in response to Lena’s ogling.

Lena would have judged anyone else in her current predicament. She could imagine a long list of negative consequences for hitting on her boss, beginning with dismissal and ending in career-suicide. Had her friend been in a similar position, Lena would advise them to do whatever she could to mask her attraction.

In spite of all the reasons not to engage, Lena blushed and attempted to explain herself. “You seem like a nice person. What more could I ask for in an employer?”

Throwing around the word employer seemed to remind Kara of the setting they were in and the nature of their business together. That still didn’t stop them from staring at each other’s lips for a confusing length of time.

“Not to brag, but I also host a party for my team every month,” Kara tossed out as she wiped her face again with the towel. “I try to create a friendly environment for everyone.”

The generalization helped to shift the conversation and prevented Lena from feeling embarrassed about her blatant interest in Kara’s muscles.

Lena cut through their sexual tension with a soft laugh. “Don’t be offended if I’m not there, it’s just that I have a little one to watch over and we’ll be hosting our own party that night. Be sure to bring your own tea cup if you plan to crash it.”

The adorable crinkle between Kara’s eyes and her laugh proved to be infectious. They made strong eye contact again and Lena knew that having soaked panties would be a problem around Kara.

By convenient timing, Mia’s session ended and parents began arriving to collect their kids. Mia hurried over while the rest of the children hugged their mommies and sires.

One little boy shouted about his accomplishments. “Mama, I bounced so high!”

“Mia, did you have a good time?” Lena put out her arms for the toddler, who crawled into them and nodded shyly.

Mia glanced over at Kara with a dimpled smile and giggled when her sire leaned in to blow a loud kiss against her cheek.

Kara spoke exclusively to Mia, despite the little one curling into Lena’s arms with a yawn. “I had better get back to my set, but I’ll see you both soon.”

They couldn’t dawdle with Mia’s schedule packed full for the day.

Lena encouraged the toddler to wave to Kara as she buckled her into her stroller.

Mia napped during the brisk walk home, and Lena caught herself smiling down at the baby more than once.

The moment they arrived home, Mia seemed to spring awake, refreshed and eager to get to her playroom.

They were greeted by an eccentric beta who had monopolized the space with large, laminated picture cards. They covered most of the floor and were propped up by some of Mia’s toys.

“Bonjour Madame,” Pierre sang and ushered Lena over with a polite smile. He turned his attention to Mia to get the lesson started. “Bonjour Mia! Pouvez-vous trouver la pomme?”

Mia blinked at him for a long moment before she observed the many pictures of fruit, animals, and inanimate objects that littered the room. She scrunched her face up in concentration and slapped her hand on the big picture of a red apple and shrieked when Pierre clapped his hands.

In spite of Mia’s inability or refusal to talk, Pierre had found a way to teach her French without adding pressure onto the child.

Lena admired his soft-spoken ways and watched Mia thoroughly enjoy her lesson by showing off her knowledge. In between clapping over Mia’s successes, she skimmed through her large book of study questions for the MCAT.

After the hour was up, they both helped Pierre gather his pictures. While Winn escorted the French tutor out, Lena scooped Mia into her arms and took her into the kitchen.

“Très bien, Mia!” Lena exclaimed. “Voulez-vous déjeuner?”

Light meal preparation was part of the job description, but a selection of options waited for them both in the fridge.

Lena buckled the toddler into her high chair and placed a tray with fruit salad, vegetables and mini sliced meatballs in front of Mia.

The rest of the afternoon was uneventful and calm. Lena studied the entire time that Mia napped, and one of Kara’s assistants texted over the details of the event that was taking place later in the evening.

The assistant informed her that the event was a black-tie function for Kara’s chosen charity. Mia cooperated when it came to putting on her nicer clothes and letting Lena brush out her hair.

Winn brought in two garment bags — the smaller of which contained a frilly red dress and matching accessories for Mia. The other stored a designer gown in Lena’s size with one puffed shoulder and an exposed back.

Lena partially choked from suppressing a scoff and recoiled in surprise at the dress she was expected to wear. “That’s a little presumptuous don’t you think? I have my own dresses I could wear.”

Winn spared her the pity and held the dress up to her with a keen look of approval in his eye. He passed it off with all the aplomb of someone used to handling the finer things in life. “None of this quality or prestige. You represent the Danvers’ household, and that comes with its own perks. Kara doesn’t spend frivolously, and her stylist picked this specifically for you. Accept the gift, Lena. It suits you better than anything in your wardrobe.”

If Lena had been a spiteful person, she would have rejected the dress and Winn’s comments with a crass remark. She didn’t dare subject Mia to any pettiness she harbored and flared her nostrils in offense instead. “That’s not the compliment you think it is.”

Winn appeared nonplussed about how his remarks landed, because he left without so much as an apologetic glance backward.

“You’ll find in life that a lot of people will judge you for silly things, but the trick is to never take it to heart,” Lena whispered and booped Mia on her nose to make her giggle. “You’re going to look like a little princess in this. You’ll be the cutest one there tonight.”

Over the course of getting Mia and herself ready, Lena’s anxiety began to rise. She had never worn anything that cost six months of rent, and she feared it showed in her tense posture. She took longer than usual doing her makeup to ensure she looked flawless and slipped into the designer heels that made her stand several inches taller.

“What do you think? Should I wear my hair up to match you?” Lena asked the toddler and smiled at the excited little clap she gave. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

“Your car is waiting, Miss Walsh,” Winn informed her from the hallway with a polite cough to say he had been there a while. “The event begins in thirty minutes so I suggest you leave now to make it on time.”

His startled expression upon seeing her all done up was almost worth the humiliation of earlier. Winn’s mouth opened and Lena breezed by him with Mia in tow before he could utter a word.

Other accessories waited for Lena by the door – a clutch purse with a VIP pass tucked inside of it and her new cell phone. The purse was small, but she stuck a few extra items into the bag to keep on hand for Mia.

Once ready to leave, Lena headed outside and buckled Mia into the backseat of the nice car to join her for the ride through the city.

The charity function took place in the ballroom of a five-star hotel. Wandering through the lobby was a daunting experience given the crowds, high ceilings and tropical indoor plants. Birds sang to them from large decorative cages to create an ambience that was more peaceful than the streets outside.

Mia clasped her hand and toddled along beside Lena, and more than one person mistook them for mother and child.

All around them, older omegas chuckled and smiled. “How darling! She looks just like you.”

They arrived at just the right time to skip the dull speeches and take part in the extravagant dinner and dancing. According to a large sign positioned on an easel, Kara’s charity supported local kids in the community. Suddenly it made more sense why Kara would want her child to attend, even though the event continued past Mia’s bedtime.

One of the security personnel approached Lena, and she presented their VIP pass to gain access to the party.

“Right this way. You’re seated at the family table.” The security guard pointed to an area reserved for Kara’s guests.

Mia whined to be picked up, so Lena carried her over on her hip. Everyone in Kara’s close circle began looking at her as she headed over. It would have been terrifying if not for Kara jumping up and rescuing her from the scrutiny.

Out of all the outfit changes of the day, Kara was the hottest in the charcoal three-piece suit she wore to her charity event. She greeted her kid with a wide smile and flashed even more teeth as she turned back to make introductions.

“Hey everyone, this is Lena,” Kara called out and pulled back the seat next to her own. She waited for Lena to sit and leaned in to get details of their first day together. “How did your afternoon go?”

Mia reached for the butter on the table that was formed into the shape of a rose. She managed to grab it while Lena was shifting her weight on her lap.

“Oh, it went great,” Lena explained and opened her clutch purse to pull out a squishy unicorn. “We kept to Mia’s schedule and she’s well rested for tonight.”

Mia dropped the butter and grabbed for the unicorn, which she squished in her little fist. She made a funny face and squeezed harder.

One of the alphas seated across from them laughed at Lena’s redirection tactics and turned to Kara. “Wow, smooth trick. I love her already.”

“Lena, this is my older sister, Alex. She has five kids and one on the way.” Kara shrank a little in her seat and blushed, as if embarrassed that she didn’t have a big family of her own.

Lena assumed that the children next to Alex all belonged to her. The woman seated next to her with a large pregnant belly must have been her wife.

An older couple occupied the end of the table, and Lena figured out that they must have been Kara’s parents because of the proud smiles they directed towards Alex’s children.

Kara pressed on with introductions and helped out by buttering a roll for Mia. “This is Alex’s wife, Kelly, and at the end of table, my parents – Jeremiah and Alura.”

“Has Mia started talking yet?” Alura asked, skipping the pleasantries and ignoring Lena’s presence at the table. “Is your newplay thing helping her at all with her speech?”

“Play thing?” Lena repeated in a tone that was much too aggressive.

“We’ve discussed this in the past,” Alex politely interrupted and threw a silent apology in Lena’s direction. “Kara’s girlfriends don’t like to be called that.”

Alura switched up her tactics and turned all of her attention onto Lena, as if analyzing her down to the smallest imperfection. “How old are you, sweetheart? You look all of nineteen.”

Lena could hazard a guess that Alura was the reason that Mia’s mother was no longer around. She bristled at the hostility behind the woman’s cold smile.

It might cost her the job she had only just gotten if she didn’t fold like a pack of cards, but from the mortified way Kara froze beside her, Lena rebelled on instinct.

“Old enough to have finished my degree,” Lena informed everyone without showing her discomfort at being picked at and scrutinized. A good poker face could mask a lot of things, even insecurity, and Lena tried to maintain hers as she lifted a sippy cup for Mia. “I’m Mia’s—”

Favorite,” Kara cut in, startling her with an unnatural laugh to cover up the word nanny. “They’re already best friends.”

Alex’s face transformed with a look of delight, and her wife reached out to welcome Lena with a friendly touch to her arm.

“That’s wonderful. What field are you looking to enter?” Kelly asked to cut through the tension. “My background is in Psychology.”

Lena appreciated the solidarity, although she was reeling inside from Kara dragging her into a lie. “I plan to become a pediatrician. My degree is in biochem.”

One of the children gasped in delight. “You’re gonna dig up dinosaurs?” She couldn’t have been older than five and her eyes widened in wonder.

“Oh, no, that’s a paleontologist, sweetie,” Alex explained with a gentle tone. “A pediatrician is a doctor that specializes in working with kids.” She frowned when the kid looked utterly devastated and soothed her with a consolatory rub on the back.

“I do have an amateurish knowledge of dinosaurs though.” Lena pulled a small collection of plastic dinos from her purse and lined them up. “This one is a mosasaurus. I also have a pterodactyl, a triceratops, and a brachiosaurus.”

“I’m impressed by how much you managed to fit in that tiny bag.” Kara side-eyed the purse like it had Mary Poppins magic.

Lena threw her boss a look that she hoped communicated how blindsided she was about pretending to be her girlfriend. “Well, I keep my surprises in bags. It seems like you’re full of them in other ways.”

It sounded innocent and sweet to everyone else, and Kara took her hand to play it off as such. “Why don’t we dance before dinner arrives? I’m sure Alex wouldn’t mind holding Mia for a second.”

Mia seemed confused by her sire lifting her and transferring her into Alex’s lap. She took the squishy unicorn with her and continued munching at her roll.

Lena wanted to refuse if only because it meant shirking her duty towards Mia, but Kara slipped a hand under her arm to escort her.

“One quick dance,” Lena agreed without having any other option and stepped out onto the ballroom floor.

Kara came close and placed her arms around Lena’s back with a much less suave attitude than she gave off earlier in the day.

Lena schooled her features into a pleasant smile while Kara waltzed them through the crowd and out of earshot of her family. The only sign of her grievance was in the squint of her eyes as she stared up at Kara expectantly. “Would you care to explain why you’ve roped me into lying to your family? Or did I miss a section in your job description that said I’d have to act as your girlfriend at events and functions?”

Kara kept their fancy footwork fluid despite the shame that colored her cheeks. She spun Lena with graceful confidence and finally met her accusatory stare head on. “That wasn’t fair of me and I’m sorry to place you in such a predicament. My mother hasn’t approved of a single omega I’ve ever dated and routinely attempts to set me up. When she made assumptions, I suppose I panicked.”

“You practically doubled down. What if I have a partner?” Lena pressed, and not only with her questions.

The music shifted to a slower tempo and they drifted closer to one another without forethought to how intimate it looked to everyone else.

“Do you?” Kara asked, sliding her around the dance floor with the moves of someone versed in ballroom etiquette.

“No, but didn’t you stop to consider that it would be awkward if I had?” Lena knew that flirting all morning also gave the impression she was single.

If nothing else, the way she looked at Kara could be misinterpreted by onlookers, and she didn’t bring that up as they waltzed together in sync.

Her dating history consisted of a bunch of non-serious relationships, in which she was cautious with her heart if not her body. She never met anyone’s family as a rule, and she didn’t think she had ever been in love. Out of all her friends, she was considered the good one in the bunch, polite and hard-working and not the type to hop in bed with her boss.

“I think it’s pretty clear I wasn’t thinking at all and I’m sorry.” Kara ducked her head in chagrined regret and clutched a little tighter to Lena’s waist. “My mother was rude, but you didn’t see how she looked at you when you arrived with Mia. It’s the closest she’s come to genuinely smiling since Alex and Kelly announced they were having another child. If we could just make it through this dinner —”

“Let me guess, you’ll owe me?” Lena intoned with pursed lips that entertained the genuine plea written all over Kara’s face.

She was too soft hearted to say no to someone in distress, even her employer. Lena hoped it wouldn’t bite her in the ass when she reluctantly sighed and tucked her cheek to Kara’s shoulder like they were a couple. “Hold me closer and start circling us back to the table. There’s no point in dancing if they can’t see us together.”

She might have been doing it all for appearance’s sake, but she liked the feeling of Kara’s arms around her. Romantic fantasies popped into her head, as vivid and spectacular as fireworks, but they fizzed out just as fast.

Their real attraction took over where her brief flashes of make-believe tapered off. Kara leaned in a fraction more, confusing Lena with the closeness of her lips. The near-kiss was inappropriate and seductive, and Lena burned all over from it.

“I—” Kara stuttered, locking her teeth together in a smile-grimace. “I think we should just head back now.” She reached down for Lena’s hand but stayed far ahead in pace, leading her through the other dancers instead of walking alongside her.

The partial distance didn’t help her at all and Lena returned to her seat far more flushed than she had been on the dance floor.

Kara's fingers were still interlocked with hers, and her face blazed the more she realized she had a crush.

“So how did you two meet?” Alex asked without waiting for either of them to taste their meals that arrived while they were dancing. “Kara never mentioned she was seeing anyone new.”

Lena detected a faint trace of hurt in Alex’s tone and compensated by adding some truths to their lie. “Oh, Kara caught me staring while we were at the gym and abandoned the rowing machine to introduce herself.”

It was a mistake to turn her attention onto Kara, because the moment their eyes locked, Lena knew she admitted far too much.

“What was I supposed to do when the prettiest omega in the room smiles at me like that?” Kara’s grin appeared far too real to be an act and she brought Lena’s hand up to kiss her knuckles.

The intimacy set off tingles all through Lena’s arm and she bit her lip in quiet consideration as she lightly patted Kara on the bicep.

“You’re too suave for your own good,” Lena warned and willed herself not to react to the banter.

“She’s always been a charmer, haven’t you, dear?” Alura crooned with a smile that didn’t fully form on her lips. “That’s why all of those hussies flock to your games.”

“I think my fans appreciate my skill on the field more than anything else,” Kara argued and stood up to gather Mia into her arms. The little one was content to sit in Kara’s lap and helped herself to a handful of pasta.

“Do you want to give her to me?” Lena blinked, already cutting up the vegetables and meat on Mia’s plate into bite-sized pieces.

Feeding a two-year-old was messy, but it made Lena’s job easier when the toddler used her sire as both a high-chair and a napkin.

“Then how would she reach my pasta?” Kara tucked a cloth in between her suit and Mia’s saucy hands.

Most alphas did what they could to foist their parental responsibility onto the omegas in their lives. Mia’s behavior at the dinner table made it obvious that Kara wasn’t the kind of person to neglect her pup. She tasted all of the items on Kara’s plate before bothering with the bites of food that Lena gave her.

They worked together to get Mia to try her vegetables, and she dozed off against Kara’s chest once she finished. Lena pulled a moistened towelette from her bag and cleaned Mia’s face and fingers.

“I don’t think any of Kara’s girlfriends have ever been this hands-on.” Kelly smiled and dropped her napkin to get up from her seat. She moved slower than usual with a hand on her lower back. “I need to run to the rest room before dessert. Lena, do you want to tag along?”

Lena feared leaving the table in case Kara provided more details of their fake relationship while she was gone. She didn’t want to contradict Kara later on, but it would also be rude to pass Kelly up.

“Sure,” Lena breathed out in panic and forced a smile that concealed her reluctance.

“Great, let’s go. I feel like I could burst.” Kelly’s pregnant belly prevented her from walking along at more than a waddling speed. She waited until they were far enough from the table to reveal her reasons for dragging Lena with her to the rest room.

“I just thought I would give you some unsolicited advice,” Kelly began and flicked her long dark lashes over at Lena with a small smile. “I’m a licensed therapist and I still find it difficult dealing with some of the politics in this family, but you’re going to be fine. Kara is a very sweet and considerate person, and I can already tell she’s falling for you.”

Lena laughed in shock and drew her eyebrows together in an attempt to figure out how someone so close to Kara couldn’t tell she was faking it.

Either Kara was very adept at concealing her real feelings, or the chemistry they shared was genuine enough to read as something more.

“We’re not really at the love stage yet but she certainly has a lot of qualities I want in a long-term partner.” That wasn’t a lie, though Lena ducked her head to shield herself from judgment.

She forgot for an instant that she blended in with Kara’s family in her expensive designer dress and her sexy heels. Even if she wasn’t a real girlfriend, she looked like one.

“Oh, Kara might not have said it, but you can’t fool me,” Kelly confided and took Lena’s arm like they had been friends for years already. “I deal with couples every day who don’t share the spark that you two do. Alex and I were worried that Kara wouldn’t risk opening her heart again once Mia’s mother signed over her parental rights. It’s clear she was just waiting for the right person.”

Lena wasn’t fully equipped for the crisis Kelly thrust upon her with her kindness. The smile froze on her lips, and she couldn’t breathe as Kelly excused herself into a bathroom stall.

The moment Lena was alone, she clasped the sink and stared back at the stranger in the mirror like she expected words of wisdom to echo in her mind.

All she managed to think about was Kara’s friendliness and broken ties with the mother of her pup.

“You’re doing her a favor. That’s all. It’s not that deep,” Lena whispered to her reflection and splashed her wrists with cool water.

So what if she was wet and obviously into Kara? It didn’t make her a bad person, it made her human. Kara was the one at fault for asking her to fabricate a relationship in the first place.

It didn’t have to get complicated. They were both smart adults that knew what they were doing. Bluffing their way through one dinner wasn’t going to mess up their professional relationship and it shouldn’t be that difficult, either.

Lena held onto her hope, and they returned to the table a few minutes later to find Alex and Kara arguing over something that had the kids laughing.

“You’re wrong and I shouldn’t have to point that out for you to listen,” Alex lectured from her seat and turned to Kelly with wide, imploring eyes. “Babe, tell her I’m right.”

“Oh boy, and here I was praying we missed the great pie debate,” Kelly laughed and shot Lena an amused glance as she settled back into the seat Alex pulled out for her.

“Banana cream pie isn’t even made with real bananas, it’s pudding!” Kara insisted with a smug grin and stood up with Mia on her hip to pull the chair out for Lena. “It’s not even in the same league as Key Lime pie. This is why you don’t get to pick the dessert list at any of my functions.”

“I have to side with Kara on this. The only thing that can beat key lime pie is chocolate pecan,” Lena intoned, like she had any right to interject her opinion into the sibling rivalry.

The twinkle in Kara’s eye was hard to miss. She fist-bumped Lena and visibly shivered in a distracting way. “Gosh, I love that we’re on the same page about desserts.”

That must have counted for a lot in Kara’s view, and it added some more realism to their lies. The night morphed in a much more personal experience from that point onward.

Through round-about conversations, Lena figured out she had the same tastes and values as Kara. The extreme tension between them was bound to lead somewhere, and Lena knew she was doing herself a favor by excusing herself at Mia’s specified bedtime.

Lena breathed in relief as two texts came through to her phone from Mia’s driver. “Oh, you know what, we have to go. I need to put Mia to bed.”

Mia clung to her sire’s shoulders in a drowsy state of partial wakefulness. She didn’t fuss as Lena gathered her up and glanced around at Kara’s family for what she suspected was the last time. “It was so nice meeting you all, and I hope the rest of the night goes smoothly.”

Kara barely had the chance to put her napkin down and stand up before Lena hurried off. “Should I walk you out?”

“No! No, I’ll just see you at home.” Lena’s head was all over the place as she carried the baby out to the car.

Mia sucked her thumb and shut her eyes, and drifted off once they were settled in the back of the vehicle.

Guilt hung around her like a shadow when the car rolled up at Kara’s mansion.

Lena already felt a sense of responsibility towards Mia, and part of her wanted to quit before she acted foolishly with her boss. She lifted the toddler and headed inside to the nursery.

Mia deserved a full-time dedicated nanny, and Lena had real concerns about performing her job that she would have to address with Kara. They couldn’t masquerade as a couple, and she wondered if it would be beneficial to acknowledge her attraction so they could set up boundaries.

Lena tucked Mia into her toddler bed and turned on a beige rainbow night light. She switched on the humidifier in the corner, releasing puffs of soothing steam into the air, and pulled the string on the curtains so the baby wouldn’t wake with the sun.

Mia slumbered on, peaceful and sweet under her taupe and pink bedspread.

“I’m going to tell your sire that we should add more color to your room,” Lena muttered with a frown that she aimed at the interior decorating.

She exited the nursery equipped with a baby monitor and her books. No one informed her where her bedroom would be. Winn contacted her friend to pick up Lena’s boxes, and they arrived earlier that morning in the care of one of Kara’s assistants.

Lena wandered back to the entrance just to find Winn’s desk empty. She texted him about the whereabouts of her room and settled down in his chair, feeling chilled and uncomfortable in her dress for the party.

About ten minutes into waiting to hear back from Winn, Kara came through the door with her loose tie draped over her shoulders and her suit jacket on her arm.

“You’re up.” Kara cracked her voice in surprise and strolled over to curiously squint at her. “And filling in for Winn?”

“More like Winn is unresponsive and didn’t tell me where my room is located.” Lena ran her hands over her chilled arms and Kara dove in to fix the issue with her suit jacket.

“Let me take care of that. Something must have come up for Winn to leave his post without telling me.” Kara respectfully kept her eyes above Lena’s neckline and pointed in the direction they should head.

Lena clutched at the jacket that was still warm from Kara’s body heat and smiled. They managed to ride an elevator down to her quarters without speaking. The place looked like a full apartment within the house, and they stood in each other’s personal space at the entry.

“This is one of the coziest spots in the house and I hope you’re going to be comfortable here.” Kara swung the door open to a small living space and kitchen that was suitable for at least four students.

Their arms brushed stepping inside and Lena spotted her boxes stacked near the wall. She breathed a heavy exhalation as she glanced around at the luxuries. It would be foolhardy to jeopardize any of it, and yet her palms were sweaty and confusing pheromones swirled in the air around them.

Lena moved her lips in speechlessness, incapable of politely voicing all of worries in a succinct question. She spoke from the heart and with humility as she peered at Kara through the shadowy darkness of her lashes.

“I’m sorry if I created any awkwardness between us.” Lena waved her hand apologetically and sat on the couch to rummage in a box of her clothes. “I think we can both agree I’m here to help meet your needs—"

Kara returned the intensity of her stare as their eyes met and Lena pulled the wrong item out of the box. She wanted a t-shirt, but grabbed a tight bustier she had worn under her dresses once or twice for presentations.

For a nanny,” Lena emphasized and threw her lingerie with bad aim. She wanted to chuck it out of sight and ended up flinging the lacy garment at her boss. “I’m here to meet your needs as a nanny.”

Kara had to catch the bustier or it would have smacked her in the face. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, because I’m reallynot the type of person who would ever want to take advantage of you - but my thoughts have been racing all day.”

Lena swallowed down some nerves and leaned into the couch as her chest visibly heaved. She still had options, but they were narrowing and the sexual heat between her legs was much more palpable now that she was in a room alone with Kara.

“I don’t ever just meet someone and feel like this.” Kara licked her lips, taking several long strides to the couch and sinking down on the ottoman in front of Lena. “I’ve dated a lot of omegas in the past two years, maybe because I was trying to fix something I perceived was wrong with me. I have no idea if you’re even interested, but there’s a sparkle between us. Isn’t there?”

It would be detrimental to deny the truth, especially if they had any hope of maintaining a healthy work relationship. The trouble was that Lena’s omega wasn’t interested in keeping those boundaries in place, and the warm slick gathering in her panties made that abundantly clear.

“Yes, but there shouldn’t be, right?” Lena sounded a tad desperate as she laughed at the absurdity of her situation. “How are we meant to keep things copacetic if we sit here and discuss our attraction to each other? I only started today.”

“What if you didn’t?” Kara asked with a glimmer of hope that she held the solution to all of their self-created problems. “We’ve spent the past five hours pretending we’re in a relationship, what’s a few more to get this out of our system?”

Lena narrowed her eyes and barely contained her scoff as her heartbeat increased. The fact that she didn’t shut Kara down immediately and was actually contemplating it should have let her know she was screwed one way or the other, and her omega definitely had a preference. “So we what? Work out all of the tension between us and then wake up tomorrow like nothing happened?”

“It’s not the greatest proposition, but what else can I suggest? You’re going to be living here. I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable or worried that I’m going to pursue you and I don’t want you to leave because you’re really great with Mia. If this thing we feel is purely physical–” Kara trailed off, though her gaze remained fixed on Lena’s as if she were trying to convey her compromise without being crude.

“We should let it take its course before it complicates things further,” Lena concluded with a lip bite that wasn’t lost on Kara.

She couldn’t believe how reckless she was being to entertain that idea. It certainly didn’t help that she felt her pussy clench when Kara’s eyes dropped to her tits. They were hopelessly into one another, and it had been a while since Lena had indulged her own desires.

One night, and then we keep it professional?” Lena stressed with a restless shift on the couch that rucked her dress up and bared more of her pale thigh.

“One night. No judgments,” Kara affirmed, her hand already on her belt as she leaned forward to catch Lena’s lips with her own.

It was a bold move to go straight for a kiss, and even bolder for Lena to open her mouth to taste Kara on her tongue.

The sultry sound of a moan caught in Lena’s throat and the frantic energy of their need culminated in trying to get one another naked as soon as possible.

She popped the buttons on Kara’s shirt free while Kara tugged the zipper down on her dress. The distinct sound of fabric tearing excited her omega, and she fell backwards onto the couch with her tits bared and her panties soaked.

“I knew you would be stunning,” Kara groaned, like the sight of Lena prone and eager somehow winded her. “Do you like having your tits played with?”

Kara seemed like she couldn’t wait to get her hands on them, and Lena gave her a free pass to grope while she shucked down Kara’s pants to find her already erect. “They’re very sensitive but you don’t have to be gentle. I like it a little rough.”

Maybe she ought to have kept that to herself, but she was so fixated on Kara’s cock that her mouth was already open before she slid Kara’s boxers down. The thick shaft bounced to greet her and Lena didn’t stop to consider how lascivious it was to lock her lips around the wide tip.

She lapped at the broad circumference and worked her tongue along the rim as Kara squeezed at her tits and teased her nipples between her fingertips. The subtle pinch sent heat through Lena’s limbs and she moaned at the heavy hand on the back of her head encouraging her to suck more.

“God, I love that you aren’t shy about using your mouth.” Kara gripped at the roots of her hair just enough to form sensual tingles.

Lena puckered and slipped her tongue into the furrow at the top of Kara’s helmet. She swiped into it over and over again to catch the beads of sexual excitement.

Earlier at the gym, she got an idea of Kara’s length through her shorts, although being up close-and-personal was better. That stiff part of her was significant, heavy and hard to fit into Lena’s mouth. She enjoyed the challenge of relaxing her jaw and stretching her lips.

“You’re enormous and dripping,” Lena complimented, bestowing a couple of more modest kisses to the girthy glans. “I’m thinking about how you might re-arrange me inside if we really try to work our chemistry out of our systems.”

Kara let out a deep groan of agreement and her cock throbbed into the heat of Lena’s cheek. The pulsing reaction was a precursor to orgasm and filled Lena’s mouth with a lot of translucent arousal. She rolled it around on her tongue and used it to slide her lips faster up and down Kara’s shaft.

“How would you feel about that, Lena? Should I give it to you hard?” Kara slipped her hands underneath both of Lena’s breasts and flicked at her nipples until they budded out.

Lena stroked her hand from the base of Kara’s cock up to meet her mouth. “We ought to be thorough tonight, otherwise we’re going to wonder.”

Scarlet veins ran the length of Kara’s pole, wider from swelling and vibrant from the friction of Lena’s lips. She pumped over them and pooled liquid warmth around the head of Kara’s erection. The repeated action began to tip Kara’s satisfaction over the spilling point. Lena’s throat constricted as she pushed the broad-rimmed glans deeper.

“Look at me, Lena,” Kara rasped, her fingers tightening in Lena’s hair as her hips jerked forward with mounting euphoria. “Let me see those pretty green eyes while you make me come.”

Lena would have done it anyway without the praise, but obeying the request set a precedent of how their night would progress.

It wasn’t Kara’s age, her career, or the money in her bank that lent itself to the power she held over Lena in that moment. Kara’s dominant presence demanded Lena’s attention, and god did she have it.

Past lovers might have tapped into her natural submissive predilections—but Kara did it without being overtly crude or demeaning. Lena surrendered to the pull of her omega and stared up at Kara while she moaned around her girth.

Her pleading whimpers sent vibrations through Kara’s shaft and left Lena’s lips and chin glossy. She pumped her fist over Kara’s dick and twisted her grip on every upward stroke.

Lena gulped the second a hot throb coincided with Kara’s jaw loosening in a groan — and she bobbed her head and slurped intently until the very last spurt.

“My mouth’s not the only thing you want to fuck, is it, Kara?” Lena pressed the moment she caught her breath. She kept her hand on Kara’s length as she blinked up at her through her lashes and worked over the smooth head to keep Kara stiff and ready. “You couldn’t keep your eyes off of me during dinner. I think everyone at the event knew you were going to be inside me the second you got home.”

Kara’s laugh was more of a breathy confession and she caught Lena by the chin to wipe her thumb across her lower lip. “I could tell you wanted it every time your hand brushed my thigh beneath the table. Were you trying to feel if I was hard, Lena?”

The flirty touch felt intimate and Lena couldn’t help the way she kissed the pad of Kara’s thumb. “I didn’t have to touch you to know you did most of your thinking tonight with your dick. Was it really your assistant that picked out that dress for me or was it you?”

They both burned from her questions, unable to break away from the intensity of each other’s eyes while Lena waited on an answer.

I chose it,” Kara huffed out, and made no excuses for her selfish behavior that allowed her to ogle Lena. “I would buy you a whole new wardrobe if it meant I could rip it off you at the end of the night and treat you the way you deserve.”

Lena wasn’t convinced either of them were roleplaying as Kara flipped her over the arm of the couch and slapped her ass with an open palm. The spasmodic clench of her cunt expressed how open she was to Kara’s filthy fantasy and she stayed bent forward on her knees to make sure Kara saw it.

Trickles of slick poured from Lena’s entrance and Kara rubbed it into her clit and over her labia with a rumble. “You know exactly how to present your pussy so I can pound it. You’re a good girl, aren’t you, Lena?”

Not tonight,” Lena corrected, hoping Kara meant it when she said there would be no judgment for how they behaved together. She cast a coquettish glance over her shoulder to set the record straight and braced herself on the cushions. “Tonight I’m incredibly horny and all I want is your cock.”

Kara shivered in anticipation and broke into a grin that said she loved how honest Lena was being. She rewarded her with a fast and forceful thrust that buried her cock base deep. “You still sound like a good girl to me.”

The sudden fulfilment and thorough stretching made Lena drop her head onto her forearm and whine in pleasure. It was almost too much too soon, but that made it perfect. Wordless groans passed her lips, raw in her throat as Kara laid into her at a pace that threatened to leave her ass red.

The first hard thrusts conveyed insatiable lust, and Lena wondered how she had gone her whole life without ever feeling as desired as she did then.

Kara caught her hair by the roots to pull her face up and Lena’s lidded eyes fell shut as she backed into the repetitive slam of Kara’s pelvis. It didn’t matter that she was getting rawed by her boss on her first day at the job because Kara’s veiny girth rubbed her in all the right places.

Lena knew she would come from it before Kara grabbed for her tits, but the biting grip and firm tug at her nipple had her gasping for release. “Fuck, oh fuck, Kara, please–

“Yeah, you like how good you feel in my hands, don’t you, Lena?” Arrogance went hand-in-hand with Kara’s well-deserved confidence, and she slid her hand down Lena’s abdomen to fondle her pussy and rub at her clit. “What about this? Is it mine for tonight?”

In the large floor-to-ceiling mirror that decorated the living area, Lena eyed herself in the embrace of her boss. Her slit glistened as Kara’s fingers traced down it, caressing her to sexual vibrancy. She crooked her back, standing more upright as Kara played a little more roughly with her clit.

Just for tonight, so you had better make it count,” Lena whimpered, unable to prevent the smallest shimmy of her hips.

She rocked her pussy into the hand that was pleasuring it, and Kara massaged her private lips to a blushing and beautiful red.

Having an irresponsible night of sex wouldn’t lead to any trouble provided that one of them ran out to a pharmacy in the morning. No feelings, no attachments, no promises to each other – she could live with that, and she was determined to experience all of Kara before shutting down any part of herself that wouldn’t be content with the arrangement.

The only flaw in her thought process was that she didn’t know that her first orgasm was going to lay her out over the sofa and turn her legs to rubber. Kara nuzzled into her curling hair and worked her clitoris, pumping into her until satisfaction hit. Her belly tensed up, she scrunched her eyes shut and her mouth opened in the loudest whimper that any other staff on the same floor would hear.

Kara worshipped the back of her neck with kisses while she blinked to gain focus. They had no rules, except about isolating the sex to that single encounter, and Lena chewed her lip and glanced over her shoulder again at Kara.

“When you asked if my pussy is yours, does that mean you’re going to come inside me?”

Kara pinned her to the couch with the weight of her stare and bucked faster to sheath herself completely in Lena’s intimate silk. She showed no signs of cooling off and settled her large palm on Lena’s lower back both for leverage and to keep her in the submissive downward pose.

Lena knew the answer before Kara even groaned out, “Yeah, as many times as I’m physically able.”

She could feel Kara’s intent in every indulgent stroke that thumped into the hidden resistance of her cunt. Kara’s wide tip struck her cervix more than once and the shockwave of sensation brought warmth to Lena’s extremities. She had always been so cautious in the past, but that wasn’t the point of laying herself bare tonight.

They both needed this to be a vigorous and filthy encounter in order for it to sate them. Lena was certain that Kara understood that with the way she gave it her all.

The hefty bulk of Kara’s cock poked Lena’s abdomen out and she splayed her hand against herself to feel it on every pass. She would certainly feel it in the morning, an internal ache to remind her of the railing she received at the hands of her handsome employer.

Lena didn’t want to face why that turned her on all the more, and she moaned as Kara went rigid and flooded her cunt with warm seed.

“Have you ever taken a knot, Lena?” Kara groaned, already pulling out to admire the slash of crimson between Lena’s inner lips and how they shimmered with her seed.

“You mean am I willing to take yours? Shouldn’t that be obvious since your seed’s already in me?” Lena raised an eyebrow and gasped at Kara’s strength as she turned her over and raised her legs up. The indecent spread put her pussy in full view and they both groaned at the hot pink of her clitoris. “Do you want to hear me beg, Kara?”

“Aren’t you already? Isn’t that what all this slick is?” Kara’s cocky smirk transformed to something much softer as she traced her fingertip between Lena’s drenched folds. She swirled their essence together and used it to glide across Lena’s clit in intricate whorls as she aligned her tip with Lena’s sex-swollen entrance. “You would look so good riding my knot, Lena. So beautiful and glossy covered in all of my come.”

Lena wondered if she would ever recover from accepting Kara’s knot, given that the diameter would be a lot larger than the girth of her cock. They had license to selfishly pursue their wants consequence-free and without complication. She tweaked her nipples to the fantasy of Kara’s thickened shaft stretching her out.

The volume of seed already inside of her hinted at months of abstinence. Kara would be more than capable of filling Lena’s narrow canal and keeping all of it in her pussy.

She couldn’t deny herself experiencing that with Kara’s fingers sliding over her clit and another orgasm clenching her deep inside.

“You’re the boss,” Lena voiced raggedly and shook out her tousled hair. “Fuck me harder and spread me on your stiff cock.”

She anticipated that she would have welts against her thighs from Kara’s thrusts during the build-up to knotting. None of what they had done so far was gentle by any means and Lena expected the trend to continue—except staring into each other’s eyes switched off some of their careless lust.

Kara started to take more languid strokes—still bucking hard at the end of them, but also lingering inside of Lena much longer.

Romance slipped into the sex in the gradual lulls in between, and restraining themselves caused them both to tremble. Lena’s thighs quaked first, her knees next, and they both opened their mouths as they strained for a release that felt like it could be the best yet.

“Kah—oh-my god, Kara,” Lena gasped, her eyes rolling in the throes of it — long, pleasurable spasms that stunned her and cramped her legs and back.

Kara gruffly articulated her name and groaned her praises against Lena’s throat. “Good girl, Lee-na. Take it all into your tight pussy, come hard on my knot.”

The slurred words were barely audible as Kara laced their fingers together and held Lena’s hands above her head. She nosed into the special place where a claim was meant to reside and kissed reverently at the unblemished skin like she longed to bruise it.

Lena knew better than to encourage it but her omega was overwhelmed and overstimulated. It wasn’t her fault that her head tipped back or that her pelvis lifted to undulate into the swelling base of Kara’s cock. Instinct took over where language failed, and she communicated solely in airy whimpers and wet, incessant clenches.

The euphoric haze of their potential merging rendered them both speechless and animalistic, and yet Lena could feel something far more pressing threaded through their hedonistic pursuit. There was an underlying tenderness to Kara’s gradual expansion, and the subtle gyration of Kara’s hips eased the gigantic girth inside Lena’s tender opening.

They kissed to their own detriment, shaky and breathless as their mouths sought out one another to share moans.

The extreme pressure of being filled by a knot so huge brought with it an exquisite high unlike anything Lena had ever experienced. She was simultaneously weightless and laden down with tingling warmth that radiated throughout her body. Kara’s sweat-slicked skin was beginning to stick to her, and as their rapture peaked and the knot took hold, Lena embraced her with trembling arms.

Time was hard to track through glazed eyes and consecutive orgasms brought on by knotting. Lena estimated that they lay there entangled for a good twenty minutes before their bliss began to subside, though neither of them seemed ready to call their night to an end.

It was Kara who took the initiative to finally move them to the bedroom. She gathered Lena into her arms and pit-stopped in the kitchen, balancing her precariously on her cock to retrieve a big carton of strawberries and whipped cream.

Kara grinned at the look on her face and nuzzled into Lena’s cheek to kiss her jaw. “What? You don’t want a midnight snack?”

The thoughtful behavior would later confuse Lena, but that wasn’t what her mind focused on. She looped her arms loosely around Kara’s shoulders and gawked at the filled shelves like she couldn’t believe she didn’t have to worry about buying groceries. “You stocked the fridge for me?”

“It was the least I could do when you dropped everything to start immediately.” Kara managed to lift their items, including two bottles of water, and didn’t drop Lena in the process.

The last thing Lena expected was to be bundled up in a queen-sized bed with her boss hand-feeding her strawberries and lightly petting her sore cunt. But who was she to say no to Kara’s sweet treatment?

They were fools to think that their softness wouldn’t compromise the deal they made, but Lena wasn’t ready to face that.
