Chapter 1: Field Trip
Chapter Text
Chapter 1:
(Hi, I’m Doze. And welcome to my Danganronpa fanfic! I will just go ahead and say this now, while parts of this story are original, the ideas and storyline are NOT mine. Credit goes to Lpunder_Spunder_Thunder for their fic The Change a Bear Can Make, where Monokuma & Usami were human and would help(ironically on one end) by preventing the Tragedy. This is just an Ultra Despair Girls side story of that story. I of course, asked for their permission to make this spinoff, so I thank them for that.)
(Of course, Danganronpa is the property of Spike Chunsoft & Kazutaka Kodaka. I do NOT own any of these characters. Plz support official release, and enjoy the chapter)
Komaru brush the sides of her hair, to look outside the train. Komaru Naegi was a relatively normal girl, she considered herself. To be going on a field trip to a technological wonder like Towa City wasn’t something she thought she’d be able to go on. She ate a piece of rock candy that she bought, earlier.
“Monaca knows that look. You seem real amazed about the train, huh?” Someone had asked the girl, the voice seemed younger than hers.
“Oh, u-uh…is it that obvious?” Komaru had asked the girl, she saw who was speaking to her. “Uh-huh. Monaca knows when someone’s star struck.” It was a young girl, no older than twelve.
“H-Haha…Sorry, but I’ll admit that this city seems really cool.“ Komaru had asked. The young girl—Komaru guessed her name was Monaca—giggled, “Just wait til you see the Riverside. There’re tons and tons of shopping places there.” Komaru did seem compelled on that note, “You must live around here, then?”
Monaca nodded her head. “There you are, Monaca.”
A new voice spoke up, a man decked out in all white with a bandage covering one of his eyes walked up to the two. “Aww, dang it, I’ve been found.” Monaca said. “Looks like games over, dear.” The man said.
“Oh, hello there! I hope Monaca didn’t bother you or anything.” Komaru was shocked by how youthful the man’s voice was, “Monaca wasn’t bothering her, Mr. Shiro! Monaca saw she looked excited!” Monaca puffed up her cheeks, looking a bit bratty. Komaru couldn’t tell how old this man was, he looked young, but was definitely an adult. Was this the girl’s father or older brother?
“No, your uh…kid wasn’t bothering me, sir.” Komaru had said, before hearing she was at her stop. “Oh, I’ve gotta go! Thanks for the tip, Monaca!” Komaru said.
Monaca smiled, happily. “You’re okay, right?” Her caretaker had asked. “Yeah, I’m okay.”
(Later)
Komaru’s class was lead to the Towa Tower, and strangely enough, she saw someone familiar. “Oh, it’s you guys!” Komaru looked happy to see the two people she met on the train, only this time it looked like they were with four other people in their company.
A boy with red hair, a boy with blue hair, wearing a blazer, a girl with huge pink pigtails, and a boy whose sleeves looked too big for him.
“Ooh! Hi again from Monaca! Are you on a field trip, too?” She asked the older girl. “Yeah, I am! I guess that means we’re field trip buddies!” Komaru said, Monaca giggled. The man smiled, showing a more bubbly smile.
“Oh right, we should introduce ourselves. Monaca’s name is Monaca!” She said, to which Komaru could tell, “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Komaru.”
The man smiled, “Call me Shirokuma, it’s nice to meet you, Komaru.” He introduced himself. “I-It’s nice to meet you, sir?” She said, making it sound like a question.
“Haha, is my voice throwing you off? Me and my brother have that effect on the people we know.” Shirokuma giggled, “Speaking of which, I am waiting on him.” The other children looked on at the older girl, “Hey! Come on, don’t exclude us from the conversation!” The red head had said. “Begrudgingly, I have to agree. We don’t want to feel excluded from the conversation, completely.” Shirokuma’s sweat dropped, “My bad, kids. Go on ahead.”
The red head stepped up, smiling smugly. “I am Masaru Daimon! I’m a hero in training! They call me Li’l Ultimate P.E.!”
The boy with the long sleeves looked at Masaru, cluelessly. “Why’s Masaru introducing himself? Th-There’s not a ghost nearby, is there?”
The pigtail girl looked at him, keeping her cheerful smile, “Jataro, you’re so oblivious. Sorry about that, Ms. Komaru, unlike him, I’m paying complete attention. I’m Kotoko Utsugi! Li’l Ultimate Drama! I’m also training myself to become an MMA fighter!” She explained.
“Oh really? Drama AND fighting? I’ll admit, I may not be one for fighting, but that sounds kinda—
“I’m just acting, that’s all!” Kotoko said, clearly just messing with the girl. “Let’s see…I love, peeled chestnuts, and I hate…unpeeled chestnuts!” Komaru felt unusually disturbed by that comment, taking it out of context.
“Uncle Shi, when’s Daddy coming back?” The boy named Jataro asked, “He should be here soon, buddy.” Shirokuma had said, “Don’t mind Jataro, he’s had it a bit rough.”
The blue haired one had said, the boy-in-question looking like he was deliberating his own words. “I-I’m Jataro…Kemuri…or is it…” The boy looked a little confused, “At school, they call me Li’l Ultimate Art. Cuz I can paint, sculpt and…did you know I saw a pretty butterfly the other day?” Jataro explained, before changing the subject completely.
The other four kids sighed a bit, “Pardon that, finally, my name is Nagisa Shingetsu. Li’l Ultimate Social Studies.”
Komaru nodded her head, “Well, it’s nice to meet you guys. But what’s with this Li’l Ultimates thing? Are you guys working hard to become Ultimates at Hope’s Peak?” Komaru looked at them a bit confused, Nagisa looked at her in disdain, “Now now, Nagisa. She wouldn’t necessarily know that it’s not necessarily known as well.” Shirokuma had said, explaining that there was a prestigious school unrelated to original Hope’s Peak Academy that trains and educates child prodigies before high school.
“Oh! Oh! Wanna guess what Monaca’s Li’l Ultimate talent is?” Monaca asked, “Umm…let’s see, I’m thinking…” Komaru threw a few guesses, “Good tries, Miss Komaru! But Monaca is Li’l Ultimate Homeroom!”
Komaru was astonished, this meant she knew more than one Ultimate now. “Guess I probably should known that…My older brother goes to Hope’s Peak.” Komaru said, which amazed the children. “Your big brother goes to Hope’s Peak?! My Uncle and Daddy used to go there!” Jataro’s eyes lit up, Shirokuma looked a little sheepish.
“There they are! Li’l Bro! Jataro!” They all turned and saw someone was walking up to them.
The man wore an almost full-on black suit, fedora with a feather in it. He had a few gold chains. And just like his supposed brother, he wore an eyepatch on his right eye, which was the opposite side for Shirokuma.
“Daddy!” Jataro ran ahead to go hug his dad, the man chuckling, hugging his son, excitedly. “Aww, missed yer old man’s voice, already?” He said to his supposed son. The man was just like Shirokuma, he seemed too young to be a dad to a 12-year old.
“Hey! Komaru, we’re going!”
Komaru heard her friends call out to her, “Oh, coming! Bye, guys. It was nice to meet you!” Komaru had said, waving goodbye to the children and men in white and black.
The man in black looked over, “The eff was she?” He asked, ruffling his son’s hair.
“Oh, she’s someone Monaca met on the train here, Uncle Kurokuma!” Monaca explained to him. “Ah, gotcha. So, how’s the trip going? You boys pick up some chicks? Grab some snow cones, meet Jimi Hendrix…” Kurokuma had asked, going from teasing the boys, and now going into a full on ramble.
“Kurokuma, c-could you please…stop…” Shirokuma asked, but his brother kept going. “Jataro, tell your dad to shut up!” Masaru shouted at him.
“—By the way, bro, I talked to Mono and Usami the other day and—…” Kurokuma wouldn’t stop.
“ENOUGH!!” Nagisa had said, Kurokuma kept a smug grin on his face, “Arright, fine. I’ll stop so Naggy-sa will stop Naggy-sa-ing.” Kurokuma said. Shirokuma sighed, his brother was one of the most insufferable people he knew.
“Ok, but for real, what’d I miss?”
(Okay, I know this is a more introductory chapter, but I hope you’ll manage with it. I made Kurokuma Jataro’s dad because as far as we know, he grew up without one. It’ll make sense along the lines later. Komaru meeting them on a field trip is a reference that I didn’t wanna pass up on using. I may as well say this, I’m a Christian, so I probably won’t be cussing or being too explicit. Anyways, stay strong and awesome!)

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Chapter 2: Kurokuma: Time for story-time, muthafu— Shirokuma: Wait, brother! Don’t start—!

Chapter 2:
(Okay, we’re back! Time to get some context for their stories on how these children met in this version. I’ll be starting with the bros and how they know certain characters.)
(A few years ago)
Kurokuma opened the door and got out of his car, finally getting past all those dang fans and maybe seein’ a few stalkers. This was normal stuff for the Ultimate Entertainer when he wanted to have a regular day. He saw his boy peek out the window, waiting for his father and excitedly ran out the door, “Daddy!” Jataro shouted, excited to see his little boy. “Hahaha! Heya, kiddo. How was school today, little bear?” Kurokuma knelt down to his child’s level, “What’s with the mask? Your mommy ain’t makin’ ya watch scary movies, right?” Kurokuma had asked, and there he stood, seeing his ex by the front door. “Kuro Kodaka.” She said to him, no sense of happiness in her voice.
“Emiko Kemuri. Yeah, that’s right, I can say full names too, ya bi—“ Kurokuma restrained himself from cussing in front of his son. “Ah-Haha, sorry, son. Don’t copy any bad words Daddy might say, okay?” Kurokuma gave a sheepish smile. Jataro looked a bit clueless, “No, I haven’t been saying bad words. Mommy wants me to start wearing this on my weeks with her.” Jataro said, Kurokuma looked shocked, but his shock turned to anger after realizing what was going on. “I can’t believe I used to love this rag…” he muttered. “Are you effin’ kidding me, Emi?! What’s wrong with you?!” Kurokuma shouted at her.
“Nothing’s wrong with me. I’m just protecting others and himself from the world. Isn’t that what you want?” His ex tried to justify her actions. “Don’t gimme that shi—Rghh! I know why you’re makin’ him wear that.” Kurokuma took a breath, gaining a bit of composure. “Y’know what, not worth the effort of talking to.” Kurokuma said, walking back to his son. “Let’s head home, little bear, okay?” Kurokuma gave a warm smile towards Jataro.
“Come on, take that thing off. That thing’ll start irritatin’ ya.” Jataro looked a little worried, “But Daddy, what if people’s faces melt when they see me. Mommy said I’m ugly.” Kurokuma was unsure of how to take that without getting pissed off.
Jataro looked a little anxious, getting into the car, “Don’t listen to what Mommy says about you, son. Look at yourself in the mirror.” Kurokuma said, Jataro looking at himself again, seeing an adorable young boy in the reflection of where he was. “You’re not ugly. And even if you were, no one’s faces would melt off or whatever. Sheesh, I’ve DEFINITELY gotta win the custody battle, now.” His father had said, “But…why would Mommy lie about that?” Jataro asked, innocently.
“Your Mommy…I-I’ll wait till yer get older to explain it. How ‘bout we go get some curry?”Kurokuma had asked.
“Curry sounds good. As long as it’s not chicken, I think?” Jataro said. “Sounds like a plan, kiddo! Now then, let’s go! Heck yeah!” Kurokuma was excited, now. He was happy to get away from this woman, it was a shame on his part, originally falling in love with this failed high-school sweetheart.
(Later)
Kurokuma was on the phone with his cousin, “Yeah, I guess you can come over! I invited Shiro, but he said he’s trying to get a job at Towa City! Crazy, right? My li’l bro, makin’ it big after high school?!” Kurokuma was on another one of his infamous rambles.
“Yeah, I’ll let Jataro know, he’s workin’ on something right now.” Kurokuma explained, “Arright, see ya, Mono!” The man hung up the phone.
Jataro was messing with some clay, trying to make something, like an animal or something. “Haha, not bad, son!” Jataro smiled, happily at the compliment.
“Who was that on the phone, Daddy?” Jataro asked, “Just your Uncle Monokuma. He said he wanted to come over.” Kurokuma said, “What about Uncle Shirokuma? Isn’t he coming over, too?” Jataro asked, “Nope, sorry, kid. But he’s tryna get a job at Towa City. Said he knew a friend there that was offering a position.” Kurokuma said, “Aww…” was all Jataro said, “Sorry, them’s the breaks, kid.” Kurokuma patted his head.
“All right, I’ll be recording a bit of music. Be right back, okay?” Kurokuma said, heading to go record something for his next song.
After a while, Jataro heard a knock at the door and called for his father to answer. “Oh, it’s your uncle!” Jataro hid behind his father, seeing the other man with simultaneous straightened and unkempt hair.
“Monokuma, ya son of a gun! How the eff are ya?!” Kurokuma hugged his cousin, excitedly, with the man in question smiling and laughing along with him.
“Son of a “gun”? How the eff? Who are you and where’s my foul-mouthed cousin?” Monokuma said, “Still right here. F-O-U-L—to the mutha-freaking-MOUTH!” Kurokuma said, “I got my kid here! And they called ya the Ultimate Analyst, you dumb piece of shi—“
“Ah, ah, ah. I think you told me your kid is here, so cussing is huge “no-no” as our siblings would say.” Monokuma had said to. Kurokuma rolled his eyes, smiling. “Wanna say hi, kid?” Jataro walked up to his uncle.
“Heya, Jataro. You remember me, right?” Monokuma asked, Jataro looked curious about something, “Your Daddy is a gun?” The child asked, innocently.
Monokuma smiled nervously, “Th-That’s just an old saying, kiddo.”
“Oh, well, it’s nice to see you again, Uncle Monokuma. I’m making stuff with clay!” Jataro said, “Oh, sounds super-dee-duper loads of fun!” Kurokuma cringed with how much of a cartoon his cousin acted like. “All right, then. I’ll be sure to get the oven ready. Mono, you got a girl yet?” Kurokuma had asked, “Yeah, Kuro, she’s right here in my pocket. Unlike you, I didn’t hook up with one of the first women you met in high school.” Monokuma had mentioned.
“Yeah yeah, it’s not like that matters, anymore.” Kurokuma had unspoken history with Emiko, they went to the same middle school and he hooked up with her in high school when they separated, she grew pregnant and then Jataro was born. Monokuma looked at his cousin, feeling slightly ashamed of what he just said.
“Sorry, cuz. I didn’t mean to—“
”Yeah yeah, I know…It’s okay.” Kurokuma had said. He would’ve wanted to have a family with her and was excited to be a dad, but Emi revealed that she wanted to abort her son, and reap the benefits of not being a parent. Kurokuma didn’t want to bear the thought of losing his son and begged Emiko to have the baby. Part of him was hoping that when he was born, her attitude toward him would change, but he then realized it was a lost cause trying to stay in touch with his ex. Now he’s trying to gain full-custody over his son, because she was nothing but manipulative to Jataro. “Would ya look at that? I’m the uncle to the next Michelangelo!” Monokuma saw how incredible Jataro was at sculpting. “I dunno who Michelangelo is, but I’ll think that’s a compliment!” Monokuma laughed, “Silly, it WAS a compliment. Kuro, look at the model of the octopus he’s making.” Kurokuma was genuinely impressed with the clay make of the octopus. You could see the details of the tentacles, “Yeah, my kiddo’s a real prodigy when it comes to these things. Jealous you don’t have kids yet, Mono?” Kurokuma had said. Monokuma just kept his smile on, “Jealousy is one of the very few things I feel, Kuro.”
(Meanwhile in Towa City)
Shirokuma was excited, he’d be starting his new job next week! As the former Ultimate Caregiver, among other titles he could be accustomed to, his job was to be assigned to help some of the homeless shelters and community services. Among other things, his best friend Haiji pointed out that he’d be a part time babysitter for his half sister. “I will apologize that you’ll be having to deal with her.” Haiji had said to his friend, “It’s no big deal! As long as I can help better Towa City’s community, I’m sure it shouldn’t be too bad!” Shirokuma had remained hopeful in this moment, Haiji simply scoffed. “Well, I guess being happy about it’s all well and good.” Haiji knocked on the door, “Monaca. Out here. Now.” He said, strictly and strongly. The girl came out, looking a bit angry.
“What’d I do this time, Big Bro?” Monaca said, puffing her cheeks. Shirokuma could see that there WAS fear behind that face of anger.
“Nothing. Meet your new babysitter.” Haiji had explained.
“Monaca…has a babysitter? Did Papa and Big Bro decide they no longer want Monaca?” Shirokuma looked confused by that statement.
“No, no, sweetie! I promise that’s not what’s going on here!” Monaca was alarmed by Shirokuma’s youthful sounding voice. “My name is Shirokuma! It’s nice to meet you!” He said, cheerfully.
“Nice to meet you too, Mr. Shirokuma. Monaca is Monaca!” She said, speaking in third person again. Shirokuma wondered why she would think her dad and brother would abandon her, but chose not to push. “Your voice sounds like a kid, you know?” She said, Shirokuma smiled, “It’s just how I was born. I and my twin brother.”
“Anyways, starting next week, he’s gonna be working here. Try your best not to act like a disgrace more than you already are.” Haiji said coldly. “Hey! H-Haiji, don’t say that to her! That’s not right!” Shirokuma said, unsure of why Haiji would say something like that. Monaca seemed surprised by that statement.
“Don’t listen to him, Monaca. I’m sure he doesn’t mean that…” Monaca shrunk back a little, seeing that he was sorta defending Haiji for the statement.
“Shirokuma, I don’t need you telling me what to not do. Anyways, follow me. I’ll take you to the homeless shelter you wanted to see.”
“Homeless shelter? Is Mr. Shirokuma homeless?” Monaca asked, “I wasn’t talking to you. Go back to your room.”
“No, Haiji, it’s okay. I’ll answer that. No, but I am trying to work to help better Towa City for tons of people.” Shirokuma said, “Really? Why’s that?” Monaca asked, curious to see what reason could the man have for trying to help. Most normal reason was money or fame. “Hmm…Well, if I have a reason….I guess since they offered me a job, I want to be a good friend and help others.” Shirokuma explained, that reason was odd, something Monaca wasn’t expecting.
“That’s enough. Come on, Shirokuma.” Shirokuma nodded, “Okay, gotta go now, see you, Monaca! I look forward to seeing you again!”
Monaca nodded, smiling, “Okay, see you soon, Mr. Shirokuma!”
(Later)
“And this is Hiroko Hagakure. She works as our resident nurse.” A worker had said, Shirokuma. “Heya, it’s nice to meet you, Shishi.” She said, “Hi, it’s nice to meet you, too…Uh, who’s “Shishi”?” Shirokuma had asked, “You, hun. I’ve given you a little nickname. It’s something I do, is all.” Hiroko had said, writing out some paper work. “Oh, I see. That makes sense. Well, starting next week, you will have a co-nurse backing you up.” Shirokuma exclaimed boldly.
“Huh? You mean you’re not the only newbie?” Hiroko asked, curiously.
“Huh, I thought the staff was informed—
“—An Ultimate whatever was joining the crew, yada, yada, I’m guessing? Weird, what was your talent again?” Shirokuma fixed his sleeves, “I’ve been reinstated as the Ultimate Caregiver, but I was actually once called the Ultimate Nurse!” He said, proudly. “Yeah, ok. But don’t let graduating from Hope’s Peak Academy go to your head too much, hun.” The nurse advised, pulling out a box of cigarettes. “Smoke break.”
The other worked led Shirokuma to the rest of the building. “Now, then, allow me to show you the kitchen—Where you’ll be stationed for the time being.” The worker had said.
(More later)
“I’m excited to start working, Usami! It’s gonna be incredible!” Shirokuma had called his cousin, who was talking to him“I haven’t told my brother yet, but I heard Monokuma was visiting him?” Shirokuma had remembered that he and Usami haven’t spoken since the incident with the magical girl pictures.
“Yeah, I’ll call him and push him to apologize, soon. Nice talking to you, Usami. Good luck at Hope’s Peak!” Shirokuma had said.
Both he and his cousin—Usami Kodaka, the Ultimate Teacher was going to be a new teacher at Hope’s Peak Academy alongside her brother. Shirokuma could only imagine how fun that would be for those two’s shenanigans.
“Better call Kurokuma.” Shirokuma decided to call his brother back and tell him the good news!
(Okay, that should be all for this little flashback chapter! I hope I’ve established these two while keeping them consistent with how we know them so far. I hope the original creator of the AU will like this. What do you guys think of Kurokuma and Shirokuma’s Ultimate Talents? Lemme know what u think! Stay strong and awesome!)
Isaiah 53:6 KJV
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
(If this doesn’t make sense to u and need an explanation, it’s saying that we are all sinners, but God chose to show us mercy instead of punishing us by sending His Only Son to die for our sins. But don’t take my word for it, personally, I’m still new at this. I’d read the Bible for what each verse means)
Chapter 3: Friends
Chapter Text
Chapter 3:
(Guess who’s back, coming at you from after Hurricane Beryl from where I live. Anyways, this’ll be between the three perspectives of our titular main characters. Enjoy!)
Komaru was expecting a video call from her brother over the computer. Komaru had wondered how school at Hope’s Peak WAS for Makoto. Being the Ultimate Lucky Student was impressive, but just like his sister, Makoto considered himself very normal compared any Ultimates he would meet. Komaru poured herself a drink, and then her computer got a call notification. Komaru answered it, “H-Hello? Komaru, can you hear me?” Makoto’s voice spoke over the computer’s audio. “Yeah, I can hear you, Makoto. Can you hear me?” She asked her brother, “Yeah, I can. So, we’re good on our video. It’s great to see you, sis!” Makoto said, happily.
“Yeah, same. So, what’s the Big Shot Ultimate Lucky Student doing right now?” Makoto cringed at hearing those words, “I’m doing alright. Mostly just studying for exams, but hey, we know how it is. You wouldn’t believe a lot, Komaru, but my class is actually really cool!” Makoto explained, but Komaru stopped him when he got to explaining Sayaka’s attendance at the school.
“W-Wait, THE SAYAKA MAIZONO?! The one part of that teen idol group I’ve been listening to?!” Komaru was a bit star-struck at the moment. “Yeah, that’s right. I forgot she had fans, what were they called…uh…” Makoto didn’t know. “Makoto, you used to know this girl in middle school! It’s “Sayakers!”” Komaru said, “I somehow know more about her than YOU!”
Makoto looked nervous.
“H-Hey! Just because you know the fan club name doesn’t mean you know Sayaka better than me!” Makoto had said, before they both heard knocking at the door.
“Uh, give me one second.” Makoto said, going to get the door. Komaru could see a girl with purple and wearing a purple school uniform that matched it. “Oh, h-hi Toko. What did you need?” The boy asked sheepishly.
“I-I wanted to know…if you wanted t-to study…with m-m-me…” Toko had asked, “O-Oh, well…sure, I guess. Just let me—“
“Hold it! D-don’t get the wrong idea, though! W-We aren’t d-dating!” Toko grabbed her pigtail and adjusted it. Makoto slightly blushed nervously at the idea. “N-No, I know.” Toko grumbled and muttered under her breath: “I knew you wouldn’t h-have wanted to date s-some hag like me…” she then looked over and saw Komaru on the computer screen. “Wh-What were you doing?” Toko asked, pointing at the screen.
“Uh—Hi there. I’m Komaru Naegi.” Komaru introduced herself. “Do y-you have a sister?” Toko asked, “Yeah, I do. I was just video chatting with her to catch up, I can hang up.”
Toko straightened her glasses, “N-No, it’s fine. K-Keep talking for a-a bit. Just finish u-up the call and I’ll meet you in the l-library.” Toko said, before turning around. She looked upset about something.
“Uh…n-nice to meet you, I guess…Omaru.”
Komaru looked a little embarrassed at how this Toko girl got her name wrong. “I-It’s “Komaru.”” She said, “So, was that one of your classmates?” Komaru asked.
“Yeah, she’s the Ultimate Writing Prodigy.” Komaru sparked an idea, “I wonder how she would feel about some of the manga I like to read.” Komaru would like to ask her.
“Anyways, what have you been up to, Komaru?” Makoto asked.
“Oh, well, you wouldn’t believe it, but I met think child prodigies back on my field trip to Towa City and—“
(Meanwhile with Kurokuma)
“Wait, so you kicked ‘im in the stomach?! HAHAHAHAHAHA! WHY DIDN’TCHA GET THAT ON CAMERA? I WOULDA PAID GOOD MONEY TO SEE THAT! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!” Kurokuma cackled over the phone, spiting a bit out, “No way, “not funny?” it’s definitely EFFIN’ HYSTERICAL!” Kurokuma couldn’t contain his laughter. “Yeah, yeah, serves that son of a b right for the whole spiel.”
Kurokuma took a moment to calm down, and was asked by Usami about what he was doing now. “I’m picking up Jataro from school. Said he wanted to have a friend over to hang out with. Ugh, effin’ babysitting…” Kurokuma said, annoyed that he’s gonna hafta look after someone else’s runt.
“Whaddya mean babysitting’s not that different from parenting?” Kurokuma asked, “Whatever. I’ll talk to ya later, ‘Sami!”
Jataro and Masaru had walked out, “Dad!” Jataro said, excitedly.
“‘Sup, kiddo? How was school?” Kurokuma had asked his son.
“I think it’s as good, today! Kotoko wasn’t being so rude to me…but…maybe she was acting again, I don’t know.” Jataro tried to recall some of the events. “Anyways, Masaru said he wanted to hang out today? Is that okay?” Kurokuma didn’t know much about Masaru, but he knew he could be a bully to Jataro. But even then, the Warriors of Hope seemed to excessively cling to one another whenever something seemed off.
“Sure, kiddo. So long as he don’t interrupt me in the studio or bully ya, we’re good.” Kurokuma said, “Jataro! Kurokuma, over here!” The boy in question walked up to them, “So, did he say yes?” Masaru asked his…acquaintance.
“Yeah, you could as long as you don’t bully or interrupt…right?” Jataro asked.
Kurokuma nodded, “Whatever! I’ll follow your stupid rules! Now…we should go get pizza or something!” Masaru had said. Kurokuma noticed something, there was a bruise on the side of Masaru’s head.
“Hold it, kid. You don’t tell me—ya ask! And secondly…what the eff is that?” Kurokuma pointed to the bruise, and Masaru immediately covered it and smiled, though he seemed nervous. “Uh-uhhhh…It’s from P.E! I got it from falling over when we were running laps.” Masaru sounded like he was lying, and some sweat dropped near the side of his head.
“Huh? So, you were doing P.E. before school even started today?” Jataro had asked, innocently. “Y-You idiot…!” Masaru muttered, it’s clear he didn’t know what to say here, “If-If it wasn’t that, I don’t know where the bruise came from.” Masaru continued to keep his smile on.
Kurokuma was not taking this, “Masaru. Spill it. Who did that to ya?” Kurokuma cracked a few of his knuckles, “Whoa, whoa! Don’t!” Masaru looked afraid, “What? I was just crackin’ my knuckles.” Kurokuma had said, putting it as bluntly.
“We’ll talk about it at home. Since ya put me in the mood for pizza, let’s talk over that.” Kurokuma said.
(With Shirokuma)
Shirokuma was helping Monaca’s homework with Nagisa and Kotoko. They’ve been working on this for at least a couple of hours. “Why don’t we take a bit of break? I’m sure I can make milkshakes.” Shirokuma suggested.
Kotoko smirked smugly, “As if! I will make my own milkshake. Monaca, come on!” She said, “Uh…o-okay, sure!” Monaca said, moving her wheelchair to the kitchen. Shirokuma looked confused, but understood that maybe Kotoko wanted to be independent and do something on her own for once. “What about you, Nagisa? You want to make a milkshake, too?” Shirokuma asked the boy. Nagisa didn’t look up from his schoolwork, “C-Could you make me one? I-I’m almost done here, and I need to get a head start on my next studies.” Nagisa had asked, “I suppose, but I’m positive a good breather will help out, later.”
Nagisa still didn’t look up, but he looked a little annoyed, but nervously took a deep breath. “P-Promise you won’t tell my parents I was slacking off?” Nagisa asked.
Shirokuma furrowed his only visible eyebrow, “Uh, okay. I suppose they don’t need to know about the break.” Shirokuma was confused, but decided that not telling would help Nagisa take a break, it would be fine.
“I…I don’t think I’ve ever made a milkshake before. I…suppose it should be an experience.” Nagisa said, still nervous about this idea.
“I guess we can have fun with it, then! What kind of ice cream do you like? I’ll see if they have any.” Shirokuma suggested.
“Mmm…I suppose I’ve wanted to try that coffee flavor.” Nagisa had said.
“Okie-doke, I’ll see if they have it! I could go for a buttered pecan one right now!” Shirokuma said, which Nagisa slightly scoffed at the man’s childish attitude.
(Okay, we’re at the end of the chapter. Lemme know what anyone thinks. For the first part, I actually couldn’t think of any other way Toko could meet Komaru outside of the event, so I hope that the interaction is satisfactory. Anyways, stay strong and awesome! I’ll be praying for anyone during the hurricane.)

Chapter 4: Pizza and Milkshakes
Chapter Text
Chapter 4:
(Okay, chapter 4! This’ll pick up from where we left off. I do have an idea on how all the characters will gather in one place at one point, that way we can also get some cameos from Makoto, Byakuya, & Kyoko. Nagito plays a much bigger role later on. Enjoy the chapter!)
Shirokuma watched in stress as Kotoko and Monaca made their milkshakes! “See? I told you I am an expert of making milkshakes! Are you impressed, Monaca?” She asked her friend.
“Uh…Can Monaca get back to you on that, Kotoko?” Monaca could see the mess that was made all over the kitchen counter. “Shirokuma! I believe you should be the one to clean this up!” Kotoko said, enthusiastically as usual.
“Understood! Then, we’ll move on to make mine and Nagisa’s. Although, you two should’ve waited and then I could’ve showed you how to use the blender.” Shirokuma said, mostly softly. He wasn’t really too stern like his brother;Granted, he’s not as impulsive, either, thankfully. “I shall assist you.” Nagisa said, deciding to be polite. “Oh, thank you, Nagisa, but I think I got it. You go and get your ice cream.” Shirokuma wiped the ice cream and whipped cream stains off the countertop, along with remnants of sprinkles.
“So, I do have a few questions…you went to Hope’s Peak Academy when you were young, right?” Nagisa asked.
“Ooh, are we about to dig up Shirokuma’s unruly past?” Kotoko said, daringly. “Oh yeah, Uncle Shiro! You have a lot of funny stories about your brother and cousins!” Monaca said, “You need to tell them about that one time Mr. Sakakura got into a fight with Uncle Kurokuma!” Shirokuma giggled, “Okay, okay. I can sum up my experience at Hope’s Peak as nothing short of chaotic. My brother fell in love, my cousins constantly fought, I remember when I treated Juzo’s wounds after that fight. I was pretty shy in school, but they all pointed out how helpful I was with all the possible events. They began to suggest that my talent be changed…”
Kotoko smiled, “Uh-huh, that’s why you’re called the Ultimate Clutz, now.”
Shirokuma giggled, “I suppose. No, I’m now the former Ultimate Caregiver. Besides, I talked to my cousin, I think they found someone who’s filling the Ultimate Nurse title! Lucky them!” Shirokuma had said, “I see…do you know what qualifies someone’s Ultimate Talent?” Monaca asked, “‘Cuz Monaca has a feeling she can get in through her awesome magic powers of robotics!” Shirokuma then explained to them that they’d have to excel and work hard in a specific field for a specific talent. “I’ll give you the best example I know. My brother wanted to excel at so many things in entertainment, that he was nearly overworking himself in a lot of things. He loved songwriting, storyboarding, performing, a lot of things. It’s when he started working in so many things that he became the Ultimate Entertainer.” He explained, “Huh…Kurokuma doesn’t strike as a guy who works hard.” Nagisa said, honestly.
(Meanwhile)
Masaru had a slice of pizza, Jataro smiled, “Thanks for the pizza, Daddy.” Jataro said, “Haha, ain’t no thang, kiddo. Thanks for puttin’ me in the mood for these pies, Masaru.” Kurokuma had said, straightening his hat.
“Uh, no problem. Anyways, what are we doing after this?” Masaru asked, “Easy. Interrogations, ya little punk!” Kurokuma said.
“What?” Masaru asked, “Didn’t I tell ya we’d talk about yer eye, kid? I say a lotta things and I always mean everythin’ I say.” Kurokuma said.
Masaru looked to his side.
“I told you, I don’t know, didn’t I?” Masaru said, nervously smiling. “N-Now just drop it…”
Kurokuma just laughed sarcastically, “Hahahhahahahah…Not’a chance, kiddo. I’ll be direct, Masaru, you can talk to me about this. If someone did this to ya, I’ll put ‘em in their place, like I did when I fought Juzo all those years ago, speakin’a which, I GOTTA TELL YA HOW MUCH BUTT I KICKED IN HIGH SCHOOL…”
(Meanwhile)
“Yeah, my brother got pretty banged up in that fight with Juzo.” Shirokuma had said, “Hah! I gotta say, for a boy, this Sakakura doesn’t sound half-bad if he got that chatterbox to shut up.” Kotoko said.
“Why didn’t they just head to the teacher? I highly doubt your cousin wouldn’t have done that, studying to be the Ultimate Teacher.” Nagisa asked, unsure of how this fight could’ve gotten out of hand.
Shirokuma brushed his hair to the side, “She tried to, but Monokuma said all the possible ways of stopping it weren’t possible. Monokuma has a pension to watch this things play out.” Shirokuma was ashamed of that aspect of his cousin at times. “Anyways, now that we’ve graduated, we’ve been doing a lot. Monokuma and Usami are teachers at the school now, I heard from Usami that he’s training someone to be a part of it.” Shirokuma explained, “And I started my jobs here at Towa City after I graduated.”
“And Kurokuma continues to be as insufferable as humanly possible.” Nagisa said, shrugging his shoulders, “Well, he has been trying to work on a song…”
(Meanwhile)
“—After all, I’m been listening to Childish Gambino as of late. I gotta figure out a way to top his subversive R&B.” Jataro looked really confused. His daddy was here to talk about Masaru, right? “Uh…Daddy, I thought we were talking about Masaru…” the boy asked his father. “Eh? What about—Oh-hoho, got me talking up a storm, didja, Masaru? I respect that tactic!” Kurokuma asked, “No, you just kept talking about yourself after you mentioned that guy you beat in a fight…Honestly, keep talking, I wanna hear more about this Juzo scumbag!” Masaru smirked.
“Nah, that’ll be another ramble some other day…Back to ya, kid. Didn’t mean to get sidetracked.” Kurokuma said, grabbing a slice of pizza.
Masaru sighed in annoyance, “I already told you I don’t know!” Kurokuma sighed, “Well, if you don’t know, maybe your ma and pa know. I can ask them before we take you home…” He said, which made the boy flinch.
“M-My pa…” Masaru said, nervously. Jataro looked at his friend. “Are you okay, Masaru?” Kurokuma looked at him, thinking he figured out the answer. “Masaru, did your dad do this to ya?” Kurokuma asked, hoping that that wasn’t the case. Masaru could feel his hand shaking, “Wh-Wha…that’s…that’s weird…” Masaru hit his arm. “Stop! I-I’m not afraid…I’m a hero…” Kurokuma put his hand in front of where Masaru was hitting his arm and had been hit instead. “Kid, cut it out.” Kurokuma said, calmly and quietly. “Masaru, please don’t!” Jataro said, not wanting him to hurt himself.
“C-Cut what out? It’s not listening to me.” Masaru said, feeling his heart pound even more. “Breathe, Masaru. It’s okay to feel afraid, just breathe…” Kurokuma inhaled and exhaled.
Masaru copied what he was doing, hoping that he was right for once. Kurokuma had pat his son’s head, mostly due to this reminding him of a similar situation. “Ya need a minute?”
Kurokuma asked. “Please…Please don’t hurt my dad…” Masaru asked, “It’s my fault! I’m the villain at home…” Masaru said. Kurokuma had looked sad for a moment and fixed his hat. “Why’re YOU the villain here, kid?” Kurokuma had asked, unsure of why the child’s blaming himself.
(Meanwhile)
“Okay, how many scoops do you want, Nagisa?” Shirokuma asked. “Uh…I believe 3 is all well and good.” Nagisa said.
“Okay, put three scoops into the blender, put the lid on, then I’ll tell you which button to push.” Shirokuma thought it would be better if the kids could learn how to make the milkshakes, which would make it fun and educational.
“Okay, now which button do I push?” Nagisa asked, Shirokuma explaining which one turns on the blender, which one sets for milkshakes, and then they pushed it. “I hope you’re having fun, Nagisa.” Shirokuma said, “So, how do you feel after a good little break?” Nagisa fixed his scarf, “I…I am not sure. I mean, I’m happy because I’m learning something and it’s a little more fun…but…I don’t know what my parents would think of this…” Nagisa said. Shirokuma began to worry about what Nagisa meant.
“What do you mean? Do they not give you any kind of free time from schoolwork?” He asked the boy. “No, after that, I need to gather bonus exp…because…” Nagisa looked upset, but took a deep breath. “Come on, let’s finish this so I can finish up these studies.” He affirmed. Reluctantly, Shirokuma nodded, deciding that he’ll talk to someone about Nagisa’s parents.
“Okay then, Nagisa.” He said, simply.
(Okay, we’re at the end. It’s short, I feel, but I have a feeling on where I’m going next with these two. I’m trying to focus on Masaru and Nagisa’s stories first before moving on to Kotoko and Monaca. Anyways, stay strong and awesome!)
John 4:24 KJV:
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
(Kind of like saying you have to honor and worship God in order to have a relationship with him, I believe. You don’t just need to obey his rules, you need to do something good for His Sake. That’s what I’m thinking it means, anyways. I’d at first consider looking at the Bible for full context and also seeking someone more professional in this field of explanation! God Bless!)

(Okay, so we’re back! I know it’s been a bit, but I’m back. Quick note, I’m pretty sure the final bit of this chapter is not medically correct, so forgive me if I messed up on it. Now let’s continue! Enjoy!)

Chapter Text
Chapter 5:
Kurokuma had driven Masaru home, reluctantly. “He’ll go to sleep tonight, he’s not gonna hurt me when he gets tired.” Masaru explained, “Aight. Still, don’t think I drop your issues, kid. I’m gonna make sure I do somethin’ about your piece a sh-uh crap, dad. Also, please forget I said that, I got a strict no-bad language rules with Jataro and—“ Kurokuma had gone into a ramble again. “Okay, I get it!” Masaru had said, “But please, don’t do it. I don’t want you guys to try and be villains either.” Masaru had said. “Enough with that “hero and villain” thing, kid. First of all, you AIN’T a villain.” Kurokuma had said it bluntly, “Second, I ain’t gonna be a punk and let innocent brats get hurt when I know some—Oh we’re here.” Kurokuma had seen that he was pulling over to the apartment, Jataro yawned a little, getting out of the car with his friend. “Daddy, why can’t Masaru stay the night?” Jataro had asked, “Because when I see a problem, I’m ‘onna head for the root, kiddo. Plus, he needs to be here for tomorrow.” Masaru looked unsure, feeling a few breaths. “Hey, don’t worry. Since tomorrow’s Sunday, we’re gonna come pick you up after somethin’ tomorrow. Just go to your room, head to bed, and we’ll see you. If he hurts ya in any way tomorrow, record it.” Kurokuma placed a hand on Masaru’s shoulder. “O-Okay…” Masaru was unsure of what Kurokuma was talking about. Was there something he missed while he was talking nonstop? “You got a key?” Kurokuma asked, Masaru nodded and opened his door. “Have a good night, kid.” Kurokuma had said, “Bye, Masaru. We can play laser tag, maybe tomorrow?” Jataro asked, looking at his dad, “Sorry, kid. Not tomorrow. Gotta call someone tomorrow.” Kurokuma had said to his son. “It’s not one of your music agents, is it? I thought we were helping Masaru.” Jataro had asked, “Different agent, kid. I’ll explain tomorrow.” Kurokuma straightened his hat, “Let’s head home, Jataro. You need your sleep.” Kurokuma explained. He was always striving to be a good parent ever since his baby was born, and watching someone else raise theirs by beating them just felt unforgivable. “I ain’t gonna let be a stupid punk.” Kurokuma thought to himself.
(Meanwhile)
“And he’s finished all of his homework for today?” Nagisa’s father had asked, “Yes, I believe so. But I wanted to talk to you about something.” Shirokuma had said, “What is it? What did he do incorrectly?” His father asked, “No, it’s not his grades that I’m worried about, it was his hesitation to take his breaks that I was worried about.” Nagisa looked worried when Shirokuma had said that, “Breaks? You had him taking breaks?” His father had asked, “Yes, because I figured a break would do him good to destress and—“ Nagisa’s father wasn’t talking about this. “He doesn’t need to destress, he’s fine if he’s at his right level.” Shirokuma didn’t understand what that meant and then Nagisa’s father continued. “Thank you for helping him study, but we need to go now.” Nagisa’s father got into the car, “Nagisa!” He called his son. Nagisa looked hesitant, “I-I’m sorry. Bye, Shirokuma.” Nagisa said, walking into the car. They had driven off, with the confused Shirokuma pondering the whole exchange. “So, what did he do wrong? Every kid needs to have a break, right?” Kotoko said, “I’m not sure. Anyways, Kotoko, you’ll be here with the other nanny coming in, soon. Monaca, you go watch some fun movies for me, okay?” Shirokuma asked, politely. “Where are you going, Uncle Shirokuma?” Monaca asked. “Hiroko and I were needed at a meeting at the homeless shelter. I’ll be off.” Shirokuma put on a pink scarf and got ready to go. “Okay, hope you have fun at the meeting.” Monaca said. “See you!” Shirokuma said, cheerfully.
(Later)
Kotoko had stepped out for a smoke break after the meeting, Shirokuma was attending to a few patients while she was out for a moment. He had hoped that Nagisa and his parents had made it home safely, but continued to wonder what was wrong with Nagisa’s father when he came to pick him up. Shirokuma had other priorities to worry about for now. “Shirokuma, we need you! We have an incoming patient!” Shirokuma heard the call and immediately responded.
The Ultimate Caregiver was shocked to see that it was Nagisa who looked as though he was unconscious. “Let me through! This is MY child!” His father was trying to get through while they rolled his son in. “He’s perfectly fine! He doesn’t need medical attention!” His objections were going unheard by the first responders and Shirokuma. “He’s breathing, at least. Hook him up to an IV, he needs the nutrients.” The clinical assessment seemed to be debated right now, while Shirokuma realized Nagisa was very thin for a child his age, he seemed like he was starting to fall short of his recommended intake. “You. I bet you were behind this, weren’t you?!” Nagisa’s father called to him. Shirokuma didn’t have time to deal with that man, something was very off about him, and he had to focus on making sure Nagisa was going to live. “It’s going to be okay, Nagisa. We’re going to help you. Hiro! I need an IV fluid filled, now!” Shirokuma had said, determinedly. “On it, Shishi!” Hiroko shouted, trying to get the IV bag.
Shirokuma didn’t trust that man outside, he may have been related to Nagisa, but it was starting to become clear he wasn’t a father to him.
Notes:
(Ok, here’s the end. I’m sorry this took a while to make, but I hope it’s a good read, even though it’s not much. I’ll work on part 2 eventually. Anyways, stay strong and awesome!)
Matthew 2:10-11 KJV:
10.When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11.And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold and frankincense, and myrrh.
Chapter 6: Looking Out For Ya
Notes:
(All right, picking up from where we left off. A special guest helps out Nagisa and Masaru’s gotta deal with some people coming over. If anything’s medically or legally inaccurate, please forgive me, and I apologize. Enjoy!)

Chapter Text
Shirokuma got all the details of how Nagisa had gotten checked in here. Mr. Shingetsu had nearly gotten into a car crash when Nagisa fainted in their car, and someone was nearby to help them. Shirokuma could’ve sworn he heard the name Nagito Komaeda before.
“Doctor, is he gonna be all right?” Nagito asked, “He’s going to be fine. He just needs to take in a few calories, then eat something for protein and weight gain.” Shirokuma had smiled, “Thank you so much for calling us for him.” Nagito just sheepishly smiled. “W-Well, I couldn’t let someone just be hurt, during a near car crash. But what worries me is how his father responded.”
Nagito already pointed out how Mr. Shingetsu is saying he doesn’t need help, when it’s clear Nagisa is unhealthy. “I’m not sure either, Komaeda-san. I’m going to have to call child services.” They then heard the morning groans of the patient-in-question. Shirokuma then saw that Nagisa’s nose was bleeding.
“Huh?” Shirokuma looked over and grabbed a tissue. “That-That’s not supposed to happen…this would only happen if he’s been on an IV earlier.” Shirokuma said, “Shi-Shirokuma…?” Nagisa looked at him, “You’re gonna be okay, Nagisa. Just a few more on this IV bag should energize you to eat something, okay?” Shirokuma asked, and praying to God right now that this child wouldn’t be hurt. Shirokuma could feel innate despair for the boy. “Calm down. I’m sure the Ultimate Caregiver can help this young Ultimate of the future survive this measly obstacle.” Nagito had said to them. “Y-You’re right, just a little hope goes a long way.” Shirokuma had said. Shirokuma didn’t have time to question how this stranger knew about his Ultimate Talent.
(Meanwhile)
Kurokuma had driven up with the child service agents to make sure Masaru was okay. Jataro was in the car, trying to play a game on his phone.
“So, will they arrest Masaru’s dad or something?” Jataro asked. “It ain’t that simple, buddy. They gotta make sure the call was legit because of abuse, then they make the call if they have proof or not.” Kurokuma said, looking at nearby police cars and policemen by them. “If they do decide to arrest them, we’ll probably have to help Masaru out with other things.” Jataro was still playing on his phone, “Daddy! I got a five star hero!” Kurokuma sighed, but tried to smile. “Which one is it, kid?” Kurokuma often worried about his son’s often oblivious behavior, sometimes, though he supposed he couldn’t blame him.
This most likely is why Kurokuma cares about Masaru’s wellbeing, almost like how much he cares about Jataro’s. “All right, let’s watch how it plays out.”
(Let’s watch from Masaru’s perspective)
Masaru had gotten up that morning, he could hear his dad calling for him, almost aggressively, but only “almost”. Masaru walked into the living room to see two strangers at the table, sitting down with his father. They were wearing suits, and looked professional. “Hi there. You are Masaru Daimon, right?” The man had asked. “Y-Yessir…” Masaru just answered, “Hi there, we’d like to ask you a few questions, dear. If you would, would you have a seat please?” Masaru looked unsure of what was going on. But he proceeded to listen to them.
“You brought this on yourself, kid.” His father had said, quietly. “Sir, we’re here to talk to your child, not you.” The woman had said, pulling out a clipboard. “And as such, we are also cataloguing your responses and your environment for this child.”
Masaru realized what they were, more than likely, they were people that worked with the cops. They were moving his dad into the next room.
“It’s nice to meet you, Masaru. I’m Mr. Arisato and this is my associate, Ms. Kobayashi.” The man introduced them, kindly. “We got a call from a parent of a friend of yours, and we figured we’d show up and ask you a few friendly questions.” Masaru realized who the agents were talking about. “U-Uh…okay…What did you want to talk about?” Masaru asked.
“We’ll start off simple. What kinds of shows on tv do you like to watch?” Mr. Arisato asked.
“That’s easy. I like to watch superhero cartoons. Like My Hero Academia or Shield Hero.” Masaru explained.
“Good, good. I have a personal love of anime.” Ms. Kobayashi explained, “Although, those seem a little old for you.” Masaru just laughed a little nervously. “Yeah, but I love superhero fights. I’ve always wanted to be a hero.” Mr. Arisato just smiled, slightly.
“All right then, now, what’s your favorite food?” He then asked. “Hmm…I do like bento.” Masaru said, “But I really like candy, most of the time.”
Ms. Kobayashi just chuckled a little. “Well then, now let move on to something a little more personal. What do you think of living here, Masaru? Do you like living with your father?” Ms. Kobayashi asked.
Masaru was unsure how to answer that, and he looked at his dad. “It’s going to be okay. Breathe for a moment, all right? Then answer truthfully.” Mr. Arisato had said, calmly. Masaru could feel the tremors of his heart and body, so he tried to smile, like he always does. “N-N-No…?” Masaru almost phrased it like a question, but he couldn’t lie to himself. He didn’t like living with an abusive father, “I see. Now, is there any specific reason?” Ms. Kobayashi, Masaru took another breath.
“The-the-the…the alcohol…the cigarettes…” Masaru tried to repress the memory of when he had to steal the liquor and boxes from the stores. He wasn’t trying to be a villain, he wanted to be a hero. “I see. It’s okay, Masaru. I know this may be painful, but you’re going to be okay. Now then, we’ll move on to something else.” Mr. Arisato said, pointing at that injury. “I wanted to ask you something else.
Do you know where this came from?” Masaru was scared. This was the same question Kurokuma kept bugging him about. “Y-Yes…” Masaru saw no reason to lie. He didn’t want to get into more trouble. “Could you tell me where?” Ms. Kobayashi said. “U-Uh…W-Well…” Masaru felt uncomfortable. His dad was gonna get mad at him if he told the truth, so he doesn’t know how he should respond.
Masaru closed his eyes, “M-My…My father h-hit me…” Masaru was anxious. Mr. Arisato and Ms. Kobayashi placed a hand on his shoulder each, “Shh, I can tell this is scaring you, Masaru. But I assure you we are on your side. Now, your father is the one who did this to you? I need you to be honest, okay?” Ms. Kobayashi asked.
Masaru gulped and then nodded his head, he was about to start crying. The two people could see what they needed to do. “Very well. Now, we’ll be finishing up our investigations. I understand you had somewhere to be with your friend today?” Mr. Arisato asked. “I’ll escort him to Mr. Kurokuma. Can you handle yourself, Arisato?” Ms. Kobayashi asked. “Yes, I’ll handle everything else.” Mr. Arisato said, nodding his head.
(Outside)
Masaru walked outside and saw that Kurokuma and Jataro had gotten out of their car. “Masaru!” Jataro said, excitedly. He ran up and pulled out his phone. “Check it out! I got a 5-Star hero in Genshin!” Jataro said, “Wh-Whoa, really?! I didn’t realize you played Genshin Impact!” Masaru said, shocked by that. “What’s wrong? You look like you’re crying?” Jataro asked, concerned. He hoped his dad didn’t hurt him.
“Give him a minute, Jataro. Thanks for bringing him, Ms. K.” Kurokuma said, “I’ll join you at the restaurant and we can discuss further matters. My associate will call me when they make the call to arrest.” Masaru was shocked by those words. “A-Arrest?” Masaru asked.
“We’ll talk about it later. For now, let’s head to McDonald’s and get some food.” Kurokuma suggested.
(Later with Shirokuma)
Shirokuma and Hiroko were making sure Nagisa was now comfortable. When Monaca and Kotoko heard the news, they begged Shirokuma to come get them to see Nagisa. For now, the young boy was eating a small meal of katsudon.
“How’s the food, hun? Shishi made it for you.” Hiroko asked him. “It’s good. Thank you, Shirokuma.” Nagisa said. “Anytime, dear. Now, you just focus on having your food and take a good rest. You’ll need it. Doctor’s orders.” Shirokuma joked with the doctor line.
“Haha, yes sir. But…where’s my father? I’m sure he would be able to visit me, no?” Shirokuma looked nervous. “Your father was being uncooperative, and had to be apprehended by police. So, currently, they just have him detained.” Hiroko yawned, “That said, honey, they may want to conduct an investigation with your recent accident.”
Nagisa seemed unsurprised by that idea, but it still was confusing to him. “I had to report what I had discovered to the police. I already discovered you already had the IV nutrients in your body and that it was the reason you were passed out.” Shirokuma explained, “Add that to your father’s behavior and denial of your treatment, despite the clear signs, it was necessary to get police involved.”
Nagisa nodded his head, “I understand. I-I’ll tell the police everything I know when they need to question me.” Nagisa said, “All right, then. For now, just focusing on resting up, Nagisa. My brother and your friends will be here, in a minute.” Shirokuma had said, Nagisa smiled, drinking some orange juice. “We really have to thank Nagito for being there.” Shirokuma said, “Yeah, we were honestly lucky.” Hiroko said to her coworker.
Notes:
(Okay, we’re done! Hope u guys enjoyed it! We’re sorta coming to a close with Masaru and Nagisa’s stories, and I’m starting to see that their abusers are going to take the route of them mostly getting arrested. And we got our first cameo from Nagito Komaeda. I hope Lpunder_Spunder_Thunder will continue their story soon, and I hope they like a lot. Anyways, stay strong and awesome!)
Luke 6:28 KJV:
bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
(This is mostly talking about how we need to love our enemies, and by that, I mean, show them mercy, instead of hatred. Which of course is very hard to do. I’m no stranger to it, myself. I often get mad at my cousins and dad because of how they treat me or my family, sometimes. But that’s not something I want to hold onto. So, it’s more than likely better to show more love than hate, y’know? Mostly food for thought, I’m still no expert at this, after all. Talk to someone who understands the Bible and its teachings better, if you’re interested.)
Chapter 7: Dads & Bagels
Notes:
(Marking when I made this, I have turned 22! So, congrats, I suppose to myself. Thank You, God for having me be here for so many years. Anyways, I’ve decided to get back into this story and wrap up Nagisa and Masaru’s main parts of it. Then, we can focus on later plot points. Don’t think I forgot about Komaru, either! Enjoy!)

Chapter Text
(Flashback)
Kurokuma drove through to make it to the hospital. Emi was having the baby and he didn’t want to miss being there. “Use your f**king turn signals, mother-f**ker!” Kurokuma honked his horn to at the car in front of him. There he saw it, the hospital Emi was registered in to. Kurokuma had pulled into the parking lot and then ran his butt inside as fast he could.
He didn’t want to miss seeing the baby, and he doesn’t want to find out what Emi will do if he’s not there. “Okay, I’m here! Excuse me?!” Kurokuma had walked to the receptionist desk. “Hold on, aren’t you Kurokuma?! Like THE Kurokuma—
“Yes, nice to meet ya, I’m here to see Emi Kemuri, she’s giving birth to my son and I need to hurry in, here’s my ID!” Kurokuma spoke as fast as he could, hurrying through the background checks and authentication of his identity. “I gotta make it! I gotta make it!” Kurokuma had rushed into the room.
(In Room 308)
“Honey, I’m here!” Kurokuma had said, opening the door loudly and breathing. “Kuro…what took you so long…?” Emi had said, “I had an interview tonight, but I’m here! I canceled and hurried over here.” Kurokuma had said. “Kuro…I can’t keep holding on to this for you…please…” Emi had said, she was in pain.
“Babe, I know you didn’t want a kid, and I didn’t mean for this to happen to ya…” Kurokuma had said, “But we have a baby coming now. I don’t want you to have blood on your hands…our baby’s blood.” Kurokuma had said.
(After that)
Kurokuma had watched as his son was placed into the little bed, he was crying and that was good. That meant he was healthy, “My baby…My baby boy!” Kurokuma had said, proudly and crying tears of joy. He had a child! He didn’t know what to experience, but he was so happy his baby had survived. “H-Hi…f**k, I’m at a loss for words…” Kurokuma had said, brushing the baby’s cheek. “I’m your Daddy, son. I’m so happy to see you, Jataro.” Kurokuma had said, happily. He walked back to his girlfriend and smiled, “He’s alive, honey! He’s okay? How do you feel? Are you okay?” Kurokuma had asked. “I…I need to sleep, Kuro…Wh-Why did you…make me have him…?” Emi said to him. Kurokuma’s smiled turned to a sad look, “H-Honey, I know you didn’t want the baby, but…Isn’t he beautiful? He’s alive and healthy…” Kurokuma had pleaded with his girlfriend to see the light in this. But he could tell by the disdained way she looked at Jataro…She didn’t care that he was alive or that he was her baby. Kurokuma had walked back to his son. “Hey, baby bear. Listen to Daddy, okay? I’m gonna be the best Daddy I can for ya. I’ll love anything you make, and I’ll love playing games with ya when you ask me, I’ll talk your ears off about grades when ya get to high school, I’ll teach ya how to drive, and I’ll sing songs to you right now…” Kurokuma had smiled at him, while shedding some tears for Emi.
(Back In The Present)
Kurokuma had driven to his brother’s workplace to check up on Naggy-sa. Jataro had a worried looked on his face, “So…will he be all right, Daddy?” He asked his father. “He’ll be okay, Jataro. I called that a-hole Haiji to let the girls go to visit, so we gotta pick them—“ Kurokuma then looked angry and honked the horn. “WATCH WHERE YOUR GOIN’, YOU B***H!” Kurokuma had cursed. “Daddy!” Jataro got on his father, “Sorry, kiddo. Masaru, you doin’ okay back there?” Kurokuma asked.
“I’m okay. That moron should’ve known we have places to be.” Masaru had said, “That guy prolly did, too. I only got angry at him ‘cuz of the s**t he pulled getting in front’a me.” Kurokuma said, all this cussing made Jataro give him a look. “Kid, I hate it when you do that. Daddy’s gotta cuss when Daddy gets angry.” Kurokuma had tried to justify his actions, “Daddy, you like saying bad words because you think it’s fun. You keep telling me it’s not.” Jataro said, Kurokuma had froze. Jataro was telling him he was a hypocrite. “You freaking smarta**, kid.” Kurokuma smiled at him and then fell back. “S-Sorry again, guys. Daddy’s just cussin’ up a storm today, huh? I’m talkin—like I always do—up to like a category 5 hurricane!” Kurokuma said, making a joke. “Let’s hurry and pick up those two.”
(Meanwhile)
Shirokuma was helping Nagisa out with a few things of homework, before encouraging him to talk a break. “Should I…My father would be…” Nagisa tried to ask if this was a wise decision. “You need your rest, buddy. You can’t just work and work until you tire yourself out.” Shirokuma had given a fond smile to him. Nagisa said, “I know, but…Father expects so much of me. That’s more than likely the reason he—“
“Nagisa. Look at me. Your father is NOT right to do that to you. Expectations or no expectations. His job is to love you and nurture you. Not overwork you until your heart stops.” Shirokuma had said, credulously. “Remember, he’s being questioned right now. You don’t have to worry about what he thinks, okay? I want you to go at your own pace.” Shirokuma had patted the boy’s head.
“S-Sorry…” Nagisa said, “No reason to apologize, silly. Come on, Nagito said he’d come over and bring bagels.” Shirokuma had said, holding the door open to let Nagisa go get some food. “You have a preferred one?” Shirokuma asked. “Um…Maybe cinnamon?” Nagisa suggested, “We’ll see…” Shirokuma had said, walking towards the main room of the shelter.
There they could see the young man Nagito walking from the door, “Oh, there you are! You didn’t need to meet me, Shirokuma.” Nagito said, “It’s nice to see you’re up and about, Nagisa.” Nagito had a bright smile on his face. Shirokuma didn’t know what to make of this young man, his white hair was weirding him out. His white hair was natural, but Nagito’s is brown at the ends, but it doesn’t look like dye.
“Thank you. Anyways, I heard you were bringing bagels?” Nagisa asked, getting into his formal demeanor. “Oh, I hope that’s alright? Bagels are my favorite.” Nagito said, “I brought…cinnamon, everything, raisin, plain…” He smiled and showed the few suggested, “Oh, I don’t mind cinnamon. That’s actually the one I suggested.” Nagisa explained.
“Oh, then I guess I got lucky, haha.” Nagito said. “How are you doing today, Mr. Shirokuma?” Shirokuma brushed the back of his hair, “I’m doing good, Nagito. While it’s nice that you’re checking up on Nagisa, but shouldn’t you be in school?”
Nagito had given a neutral smiled, “I’m on a vacation. Which is what I wanted to—“ Before Nagito could finish his sentence, he saw people burst through the door. “Shiro, we’re here! Where the f**k is—Kid!” Kurokuma had shouted while everyone stared at the man.
“Nagisa!” Jataro, Monaca and Kurokuma group hugged Nagisa, while Masaru and Kotoko had sheepishly stood next to them. “Heard the news, Naggy. How ya feelin’?” Kurokuma had asked. Nagisa was baffled by how worried he had seen Kurokuma acting. This was NEVER how he acted around him.
Normally, he’s trying to make himself laugh at the boy’s expense. “I-I feel fine.” Nagisa had said, “That’s good! Still, when Uncle Shiro said you were at the doctor’s office, I thought we were going to an actual hospital.” Jataro said, spacing out. Nagisa had chuckled a little at that response, “I suppose you’re right. Yeah, but this is Uncle Shirokuma’s job at the city. He’s been contributing to a lot of the community for Towa City.” Monaca explained, “After the incident with my brother, he helped me out with my wheelchair.” Monaca explained, “He would take Monaca here and cook her a nice, hot, good meal!” Monaca could recall the times they made tempura. “Oh, these must be your friends, Nagisa?” Nagito asked. “Yes, this is Jataro, Masaru, Kotoko and Monaca.” Nagisa introduced him. “It’s nice to meet you, Future Ultimates. I’m Nagito Komaeda. I’m the Ultimate Luckster.” Nagito explained.
Shirokuma and Kurokuma looked on him, Kurokuma straightening his hat. “Wait a sec! Haha! I remember hearing aboutcha from our cousin Mono!” Kurokuma said.
Nagito was a little starstruck when around Kurokuma, “Y-Yes, that’s right! Monokuma-sensei is the reason my talent was changed!” Nagito explained. “Ultimate Luckster? Are you some sort of leprechaun?” Jataro asked. Kotoko just giggled, “He’s wearing green already, too!” She said, making Jataro giggle as well.
“I guess you could say that. Monokuma-sensei says that if I want bring about forms of hope, I must first give myself some as well. That’s why he suggested changing the name of my talent.” Nagito explained.
“You met my Uncle Mono! Can you tell him I said hi when you go back to school?” Jataro had said, “Sure thing. But for now, I have bagels. Do you guys want some?” Nagito asked. “Ooh, yes please!” Jataro said, “Save one for Monaca!” Monaca said, excitedly.
(Later)
“Okay, so in my case, I want to be known as the Sage. I act as our group’s tactical aid, and cover the plans.” Nagisa explained, holding a piece. “Monaca will act as Mage! I’ll provide offensive fire power if needed!” Monaca said, holding up a mage piece.
Jataro had patted his piece, “I’ll be the Priest. I’ll be…I think it’s the group’s healer?” Jataro asked, “Yeah it is, Jataro.” Masaru had said, “I’ll be sure to provide hope to you guys and be helpful.” Jataro explained.
Kotoko straightened up her hair band, “I’ll be the Fighter! My tough barbarian will fight and tear down all our foes!” Kotoko said, cheerfully. “Which leaves you, Masaru…” Nagisa said. Masaru looked unsure, but looked at the available pieces. “I wanna be this guy. He looks like a Hero! And I really wanna up my game if I wanna be a hero myself! I’ll take your snacks as my gift of your gratitude!” Masaru said, smugly. “That begs the question, who’s the leader?” He then asked, “Uh…Why don’t try rock paper scissors for that?” Nagisa suggested. “Good call! Try not to cry when I get to be leader!” Masaru said.
Kurokuma and Shirokuma watched the Warriors of Hope do a fun little campaign while they decided on what they would do. Nagito walked over to see them. “U-Uh…Mr. Kurokuma. Can I get a quick autograph? I loved your album Resistance of Adulthood!” Nagito asked, having a book out. Kurokuma had smiled, “Sure, kid. Here ya go. When ya get back to Hope’s Peak, tell my cousin he’s a f**kin hack.” He said to the young man.
“Um…I-I’m not sure I can say that without getting in trouble with my teachers.” Nagito nervously smiled. “Haha, then forget what I said, kid.” Kurokuma said, happily. Nagito walked away and went to grab a snack from the kitchen. Shirokuma had looked at Nagisa in worry, but also relief when he saw him talking to his friends and smiling. Kurokuma had recognized that smile on his brother’s face.
“See someone’s actin’ like a parent.” Kurokuma teased his li’l bro. “I’m acting like a doctor. You know how traumatizing it is to be your brother?” Shirokuma had said, hitting his older brother.
“Hey, f**k off. I didn’t ask ya to help out with my injuries, you did that on your own, dumb*ss.” Kurokuma reminded his brother of his kind heart. “Still, how could I not be concerned? His father has been treating him like a science experiment…It’s only natural you don’t want that for a child.” Shirokuma explained. Kurokuma had patted Shirokuma’s back, “Yeah, well. He seems to know that YOU care about him at least.” Shirokuma smiled.
“How are child services handling Masaru’s case, by the way?” The man in white asked his brother in black. Kurokuma pulled out a cigar, “Don’t smoke in here.” Shirokuma said, “Fine…Anyways, they’ve decided that his dad’s sh*thole ain’t a good environment, so they’re trying to implement him into foster care. I’m going through the classes myself to help with Masaru’s situation.” Kurokuma explained, “Cool…Wait, does that mean you’re planning on…” Shirokuma didn’t finish the sentence, but he could tell by his brother’s serious look. “I promise Jataro I’d be a good dad for him. Masaru’s dad never seemed to tell him that, so I’m gonna try and help him with whatever.”
Shirokuma smiled, understand where his brother’s empathy was coming from.
“W-Whoa…” Kurokuma was looking completely speechless, Shirokuma took a look at him in wonder. “What are you—?” He asked, now seeing Hiroko was walking toward the children.
“—He’s been really helpful to me, too. Miss Hagakure has been, as well.” Nagisa explained to his friends, “Someone call my name?” Hiroko had walked up to the group. “Aww, who are these li’l munchkins, Na-Na?” Hiroko had asked Nagisa.
Kurokuma had blushed red hot, “Oh…hello, gorgeous!” He thought in his head, this woman was smokin’ while actually smokin’! He went and walked up to her, “Big Bro, what are you—“ Shirokuma had said.
“U-Uh…I-I’m uh…K-Kurokuma. Think’a me as Naggy-sa’s uncle.” Kurokuma had said, “U-Uncle?” Nagisa asked.
“I-I’m also Shirokuma’s older brother!” Kurokuma had a flustered look on his face, “I know who you are, Ro-Ro.” Kurokuma had become red hot, he loved that nickname. “I uh…l-like the nickname…” Kurokuma said, barely. “Daddy, what’s the matter? Are you sick?” Jataro had asked.
“Eww! Take that gross thing somewhere else, you disgusting man!” Kotoko said.“Ooh…Monaca‘s interested in this drama…” Monaca had said. “Well, in the bright side, he’s not annoying me.” Nagisa said. “I’m with Kotoko. Boyfriends and girlfriends are gross!” Masaru said, smirking alongside his friends.
“Kids, there’s no need to act like that.” Hiroko said, “So, are they right, handsome? Do you have a thing for me?” Hiroko had said, “GET YOUR F**KING SH*T TOGETHER, KUROKUMA!” Kurokuma had shouted at himself and took a quiet breath, and rethought this moment. “I-I just uh…heard you’re a real beaut of a lady. Just wanted to uh…congratulate ya.” Kurokuma said, trying to use a pickup line. Hiroko gave a stoic smile, “I appreciate the compliment, Ro-Ro. Well, if I’m not available in the next 24 hours, you know where to find me.” Hiroko had winked at him, walking off to go get some food.
“Just my d*mn type…” Kurokuma had said, blushing red hot. “Daddy, no more cussing!” Jataro had said. Kurokuma had fallen outta his trance and looked at his son, “S-Sorry ya had to see all that, kiddo.” Kurokuma had said, giving his son a kiss on the forehead. “I shouldn’t jump the gun. I just hope she’s good with kids.” Kurokuma thought to himself. Shirokuma had looked on in annoyance. His brother had fallen in love again, “At least it’s to Hiroko…” Shirokuma had said, quietly.
Notes:
(Okay, we’re done for now! I hope that was good. I love writing Kurokuma focusing on being a good dad with the flaws of cussing and not having a filter. Shirokuma having a bond as Nagisa’s surrogate father. Nagito being sketchy Nagito. Anyways, we’ll be wrapping Masaru’s main part in the next chapter. Stay strong and awesome!)

Chapter Text
Shirokuma helped Monaca by catching her if she fell again. She had finally gotten to recover from the injuries Haiji had done to her.
“Take it slow, sweetheart, okay?” Shirokuma said, “Okay, Uncle Shiro.” Monaca lifted herself up out of her wheelchair and tried to walk. She hadn’t done so in a long time, so standing up for the first time in a long time was hard.
She felt herself lose a little balance, “I’m here, Monaca. Easy, okay?” Shirokuma told his ward, Monaca tried to walk slowly along the rails and could feel herself slipping up. “M-Monaca can stand…M-Monaca can handle this.” Monaca said to herself, as she was actually frightened and tried to use positivity. She was still worried she was going to fall to the floor.
No one was there to help her before Shirokuma, not her coward mother, not her abusive father or brother.
Shirokuma and her friends were the only people she had to turn to. She felt herself lose her grip as Shirokuma immediately ran to his child’s side.
“Here, honey. Take my hand.” Shirokuma said, Monaca took her dad’s hand and started to walk a little easier.
“There we go. Remember, honey. The first day is always the hardest one.” Shirokuma advised. “Okay…Now, Uncle Shiro?” Monaca was walking back to her chair to rest.
“Hm?” He gestured he was listening, “What time do we need to be at Hope’s Peak?”she asked, “Oh, well. We should be able to go over there at around noon. But for now, let’s focus on adjusting to walking, okay?” Shirokuma asked. Monaca nodded, and tried her best to smile.
She knew Shirokuma was a kind person, and she’s thankful to God that he was here. Not even her dad and brother wanted to help her. And that feeling made her feel more despair than anything.
“Let’s head back and get ready. We can make breakfast together, too! Sounds fun, right?” Shirokuma asked, Monaca smiled at the man in white. “Monaca would love it if we made some breakfast.” She said. “But Uncle Shiro?” Monaca asked.
Shirokuma had kept his bright smile, “What’s wrong, Monaca?” He asked. Monaca hugged her dad and he hugged back. “Don’t leave Monaca, please? Monaca loves you and wants you to stay forever.” Monaca’s anxieties began to fire on all cylinders.
Shirokuma tried to comfort her. “I love you, too, honey. I’ll try not to leave you. I promise.” Shirokuma said. He realized that he did love Monaca as his daughter, because Haiji and his boss weren’t there for her and dumped her onto his workload.
He didn’t want her to be alone, it’s why he still accepted the job. He wasn’t gonna turn away from her like they did.
He’d do the same for Nagisa, as well, after helping him with his health.
(Meanwhile)
“All right, make sure you guys come in tomorrow evening, sharp. We will discuss how to connect with your foster children.” The teacher instructed the group.
Kurokuma had brushed his hair back and straightened his hat. This morning was thankfully not that hard, since he already knew some of the basics of parenting.
He got in his car and went to go pick up Jataro and Masaru for the field trip to Hope’s Peak. It’d be cool to see Usami again and see what new Ultimates are causing trouble at the school.
Nagito didn’t seem like he was doing too good, but he wasn’t a bad kid SO FAR.
Mono started going on about how he’s training up an apprentice from the Reserve Course last time he spoke with him.
(Later)
Komaru had received an invitation to THE Hope’s Peak Academy. It was supposed to be some sort of walk in with family members, and even kids from Hope’s Peak Elementary.
So, not only will she get to see her brother. She might run into those kids again. Either way, to get to see THE Hope’s Peak Academy even though she’s not an Ultimate was incredible.
“I feel…a little out of place. I…suppose that’s probably normal.” She said to herself.
She saw someone walking towards the entrance. Someone…familiar. “O-Oh! I know you!” Komaru said, walking up to the girl with purple hair and glasses.
“W-Who are you?” She asked in return. “We met when I was calling my brother. Makoto Naegi, you have to know him, right?” Komaru asked. “It’s Toko, right?”
“Oh. Y-Yeah…you’re…Omaru.” Toko said, not looking her friend in the eyes. “I-It’s “Komaru”.” Komaru said, sheepishly.
“R-Right. L-look, is there any specific reason you’re talking to me?” Toko said, standoffishly. “Well, I thought since—
“I know how this starts. It starts with “W-Well, I thought since you looked u-ugly, I thought I’d make fun of you.” Is that it?” Toko asked. “Huh? No, that’s definitely not it.” Komaru said.
“L-Look, if it’s all the same to you—and it definitely is—I-I’d rather be alone right now.” Toko said, “B-Besides, since when do people like YOU benefit anything from my company, anyways?” Komaru looked around and saw all the families that visited the classes today.
Toko didn’t seem to have anyone with her. “Uh…I’m sure YOU could benefit from MY company. My brother’s a little late, so, why don’t we talk? Maybe we can get to know each other better.” She asked the standoffish girl.
“U-Uh…D-Do what you want. M-Makes no difference, I-I guess.” Toko said to her.
(Meanwhile)
“Jataro!” Monokuma and Usami said, seeing their nephew happily. “Hi, Uncle Mono! Aunt Usami!” Jataro said, “How is school, sweetheart?” Usami asked the boy.
“I made this in today’s art class!” Jataro said, holding up a small chiseled statue of a gargoyle. “Ooh, a gargoyle?! Scary stuff, little cub!” Monokuma said, putting his hand out for Jataro to put it in.
“Wow…impressive work, Jataro! Beats anything your daddy makes by a long shot!” Monokuma said.
“Yeah, cuz I don’t f****n’ work with sculpting. Either way, it’s a masterpiece.” Kurokuma patted his son’s head. Monokuma just chuckled at how he made him annoyed for a moment.
“Oh, this is my friend Masaru! Masaru, these are my auntie and uncle!” Jataro said.
“So, YOU’RE the older Ultimates? What do you guys even do?” Masaru asked.
“I’m the former Ultimate Teacher, honey. My class is over here.” Usami explained.
“Right now I’m a janitor, but I’m the former Ultimate Analyst.” Monokuma said.
“Sounds like loser talents. One day I hope to be the Ultimate Hero! Or maybe a Track Star!” Masaru explained confidently. Monokuma rolled his eyes, “Yeah, I bet. You wanna do that, you gotta study hard at those fields, Masaru.”
Kurokuma encouraged, “Oh! I bet the Ultimate Team Manager might be able to help with that.” A boy had said, he had brown hair and green eyes.
“Oh! Puhuhu! Kurokuma, this is my apprentice. Hajime Hinata, he’s studying to be the Ultimate Hope’s Peak…we’re…still working that part out.” Monokuma explained, keeping a nervous smile on his face. Hajime was star struck.
“W-Wait, THE Kurokuma?!” Hajime asked.
“Nice meetin’ ya, kid! Hope my hack cousin ain’t givin’ ya too much trouble.” Kurokuma said, “N-No way, sir! I-I’m a big fan!” Hajime said, “O-Oh, sorry, am I making this too awkward.”
Kurokuma had just laughed as boisterously as possible. “Nah, it’s fine, kid.”
(Meanwhile)
“It’s great to see you again, Nagisa and friends.” Nagito said, kindly.
“Uh…you too, Nagito.” Nagisa was a little awkward. Monaca and Kotoko were shocked to see the people Nagito was with.
“Nagito, you know these squirts?” A girl with pink and blue highlights in her hair asked.
“Yeah. I helped Nagisa out when I was in Towa City. This is Nagisa, Kotoko and Monaca. They’re all Lil’ Ultimates at Hope’s Peak Elementary.” Nagito explained.
A girl with silver hair and piercing red eyes studied them. “They DO have a prodigious look about them.”
“Hey! Keep your dirty eyes to people your own age, ma’am!” Kotoko said, a smile still on her face. “Oh…my apologies.” She said.
“One day, Monaca and her friends all hope to make it into Hope’s Peak Academy!” Monaca said. “Monaca’s a huge robotics expert, I have a feeling she’d be able to join the academy when she’s older.” Shirokuma said, trying to hype her up a little. Monaca nodded excitedly.
A boy with pink hair smiled with a shark tooth smile. “Oh, that sounds cool! I’m a mechanic, myself. I’ve fixed a lot of stuff around the school when I’m not in class.” He hyped himself up.
“Nice try! My Monaca is off limits to you gross teenagers!” Kotoko said. “N-Not like that!” Kazuichi said to the pink haired girl.
“I was wondering if there was any advice I could receive to help achieve my goals of Ultimate Elitist?” Nagisa had said. A girl with blonde hair and a green dress had walked up to him.
“Ultimate Elitist? Hmm, well…As an Ultimate Princess, I am sure maintaining a healthy balance between work and rest should suffice as advice.” She said. “Ultimate…Princess?!” Kotoko and Monaca immediately had their eyes sparkling at the idea they were meeting a real princess.
Shirokuma was glad Miss Nevermind agreed with what he was trying to tell and help Nagisa with.
(More later)
Komaru and Toko had walked up to the Warriors of Hope and their twin guardians. Toko was baffled as to why Omaru would even bother with a bunch of random runts. “Hi! Monaca! It’s nice to see you again!” She greeted the green haired girl.
“Oh my gosh! Monaca remembers you! Komaru from the field trip!” Monaca said, happily.
“It’s really nice to see you again! So, you guys must be on another trip!” Komaru said.
“Th-This place is crowded enough…” Toko muttered under her breath. “Who’s this?” Kotoko asked.
“This is Toko Fukawa! The Ultimate Writing Prodigy!” Komaru introduced her friend to them. “Hello!” Jataro said, happily. “U-Uh…h-hi.” Toko said, sheepishly. “A writing prodigy? What do you write about?” Nagisa asked.
“N-Nothing that’s…within your age range. L-Look, not everyone n-needs to know my life story.” Toko said, annoyed with mostly Komaru. “Toko Fukawa…Hold it! Four-Eyes! I remember seein’ your name on a book I was readin’!” Kurokuma said, smashing his fist into his palm.
“Wh-What?” Toko asked. “Yeah! I remember readin’ The Family From The Day Before Yesterday ! You’re a real talented kid, Four-Eyes!” Kurokuma said, boisterously.
“Stop calling me F-Four Eyes!” Toko said, which made some of the kids giggle. “Oh, I’ve seen that one, too. How come there’s no synopsis?” Nagisa asked, curiously.
“Do I l-look like I need a synopsis f-for writing? No! I sh-shouldn’t have to I-interest people with a few fancy words.” Toko explained.
“Oh-hohoho! Now I get it! That’s a sick move, Four-Eyes!” Kurokuma said, Shirokuma hitting his brother in the back of the head. “She said stop calling her that!” Shirokuma said, before smiling at Toko and Komaru. “Y-You’ll have to forgive him. Hahaha…So, you’re Miss Komaru’s friend?”
“Th-That’s debatable.” Toko said. “I-I thought you wanted to be friends…” Komaru said, a little sad.
Shirokuma frowned, Toko must’ve had a rough life by how she’s nervous and vitriolic around others. “I’m sure you must have tons of people who DO care about you, Miss Fukawa. I know it’s hard to let people in, but that’s why we try by our own effort.” Shirokuma explained.
“L-Look, I don’t need some cliches about “friendship” right now. O-Omaru, let’s go somewhere else.” Toko said, already done with these people.
“It was nice to meet you!” Jataro said, happily when she walked away. “She’s a weirdo.” Masaru said, “Like Jataro.”
“Oh…I’m sorry for being a weirdo.” Jataro apologized. “Don’t mind what he says, kiddo.” Kurokuma told his son. “Come on, let’s head to—H-Hiroko!” He saw his crush talking to that Ultimate Fortune Teller guy.
He started blushing red hot. “Here we go again.” Kotoko rolled her eyes and walked off with Nagisa. Monaca and Masaru had giggled at the possible failure at flirting.
“Ro-Ro.” Hiroko smiled upon seeing him, “H-Hey, Hiroko. How ya been?” He asked. “Doing good. Oh, this is my
son, Yasuhiro.” She introduced the man.
Kurokuma heard about how her son was held back a few times in school, but he could see the young adult man with a sea urchin hairstyle. “So, YOU’RE Supernova? Nice to meetcha!” Kurokuma said.
“You’re THE Kurokuma? Dude, I’ve been a huge fan for a while! It’s nice to meet you!” Yasuhiro said to the man in black.
“Always cool to meet a fan!” Kurokuma said, Hiroko had smiled. “So, I heard one time ya thought aliens abducted your hamburger?” Kurokuma admits he’d laugh just thinking about it.
“Y-You seriously believe that? Most of the people here laughed it off.” Yasuhiro said, “Let ‘em laugh all they f****n’ want, there wouldn’t be planets otherwise!” Kurokuma laughed boisterously, before looking at Hiroko.
“Daddy, no cussing!” Jataro said, hitting his dad’s arm. “Whoa whoa whoa hey! No hittin’, kiddo.” Kurokuma said, “But Daddy’s right! …I think, there could be aliens out there. But why’d they abduct your hamburger?” Jataro was curious.
“Oh, you’re interested? Guess I could tell ya!” Hiro said, folding his arms and smirking happily. “It’ll be a li’l fine, so—“
“Here.” Kurokuma said, pulling out a few loose 100s out of his wallet. “Wh-Whoa I was just—”
“No no no, you said a fine for the story, so I gotta pay! Which makes me think somethin’…I gotta start fining people for all my talkin’! I’d make millions! Hahahahahaha!” Kurokuma laughed boisterously.
“Uh…” Hiro looked at the man, cuz now he seemed like he was in his own little world. “I guess Daddy’s zoning out again. Can you tell me that story, Mr. Hiro?” Jataro asked.
“U-Uh, sure! Sure!” Hiro just smiled and told the story.
Hiroko just smiled, enjoying the company she was in.
(meanwhile)
Shirokuma, Nagisa and Monaca all looked at Kurokuma still going on as if Hiro and Jataro were listening.
”Does she see anything in him at all? Cuz he’s hopeless.” Monaca said.
Shirokuma just smiled awkwardly, “No she doesn’t. I don’t think she’s looking to date anyone right now.” He explained.
”At least he’s not gross about it.” Kotoko said, dropping any facade she had before.
“I find it sort of amusing that he’s just rambling to that other guy.” Nagisa said.
Notes:
(Okay, I’m done! I’m sorry this took so long, I completely forgot about this chapter!
