florence is at the shack with jack on a saturday night while the sun is setting she grabs some rum from jacks fridge and walks out to the table and chairs she puts the rum bottles on the table
florence looks at jack “ you’ve been quiet sir , is something on your mind at all ? ”
jack sighs “ actually yes there is florence ” he takes a sip of the rum
florence looks at jack “ what is it ? you can tell me anything ” as she takes a sip of the rum
jack sighs “ i don’t know how to start this if i’m going to be honest ” he taps his foot
florence looks at him smiling “ take your time there is no rush to do it okay ? ”
jack looks at florence and smiles “ thanks , so you know how i had to go off early last saturday saying i had a personal matter to deal with ? ”
florence nods “ yes i do remember about that , is it about that ? "
jack nods “ yes it is i actually went to get an assessment for adhd witch is attention hyperactivity deficit disorder ”
florence nods “ okay and what was the result if you don’t mind sharing ”
jack looks nervous and bounces the leg “ ive been diagnosed with adhd and so has siobhan ”
florence smiles “ i’m happy for and siobhan you know i had a bit of a feeling you might have adhd but i didn’t want to offend you and say something you know ? ”
jack looks at florence “ oh you did it’s obvious then isn’t it ”
florence looks at jack “ well yes jack the way you forget what you do in a day , you constantly fidget or move your leg , you have some quite impulsive ideas like that boat trip " she laughs
jack laughs “ oh gosh the boat trip haha , that was fun though florence maybe i could take you on one you don’t think any different of me do you ? ”
florence looks jack “ no jack you are just your funny , kind , loud , authentic self and i love to see it ”
jack gives florence a hug “ thank you florence i appreciate it genuinely , now back to run drinking shall we ?”
they laugh and drink their rum as the sun goes down
florence looks at jack “ you know what jack , can i sleep in the hammock tonight? i can’t be bothered to drive the jeep home ”
jack laughs “ of course you can florence ”
they both smile at each other
jack them pipes up “ you know what florence, what if ruby has adhd ? she has the exact same traits as siobhan ”
florence nods “ i wouldn’t be surprised at all why don’t we talk to her tomorrow about it ? "
jack nods “ deal it is ”
