Chapter Text
- Sanae POV -
The Moriya Shrine had an... interesting situation. I had been Sweeping the porch, it was messy as always during the fall, but I really don't mind, anything for the shrine.
But then the most unusual event happened.
And I'd say that I've got pretty used to strange events since moving to gensokyo...
But generally malnourished teenagers do not fall from the sky...
So suddenly, this young child, that looks around 14 or 15, and like he's been starving himself for his entire life falls from the sky. And OH MY GOD... it looks like he hit his head pretty hard... that might need a miracle.
I ran over and move him into the shrine before I can prepare a miracle for his bleeding head, quite possibly screaming whilst doing so, seeing as one of my goddesses, Lady Kanako, came outside to investigate the disturbance.
"Sanae, hon, What is happening out here?" Lady Kanako had yet to notice the child in my arms
"THISCHILDJUSTFELLOUTOFTHESKYANDI'MTRYINGTO--" Lady Kanako noticed the child and interupted.
"Sanae, quiet please, and bring the boy in, he needs medical attention, immediately!" Lady Kanako turned and walked back inside.
"Right away lady Kanako!"
It had been about an hour since the initial rush, I had prepared one of my trademark miracle and now his head was healing nicely, when he wakes up he shouldn't have any permanent damage, which is good. Now that I had calmed down I had finally gotten a chance to look at him properly, his clothing choice would indicate an outsider, a dress shirt just as black as his hair and tan pants. looks fairly professional, almost like a recital uniform. His looked comfortable while he slept, like he was in a flawless dream. I reobserved his starving nature, just what was his parents doing? Was he homeless? It occurred to me to make some food for when he wakes up.
It had been 3 hours now, he still has life, just how long was he going to sleep for? Even lady Kanako is starting to seem concerned...
He looks like he's in some form of horrible nightmare...
Poor child...
I end up hugging him, which seems to finally wake him from his slumber, as he starts twitching and after I let go, finally opens his eyes.
He somehow looks underslept? That's concerning, I'm no medical expert but that's not good I don't think. Oh wait, I'm staring.
"Hello, I'm Sanae Kochiya, whats your name?"

The boy seemed to look around quizzically. "You're in the Moriya Shrine, I'm the Shrine Maiden here" I guess someone would need to explain gensokyo to him later, not me though. And besides, he seemed to accept that answer.
His stomach grumbled. "Oh Right, I have food in the kitchen, let me heat it up for you, I'll only be a minute." I left the room...
And came back a minute later, the boy was still there, fortunately had yet to annoy one of my goddesses enough to get kicked out. That was good, what wasn't good, was how he was refusing to eat.
"Come onnn tryyy ittttt" The kid made a pouting noise, did I say 14 or 15 earlier? Now I'm thinking 7 or 8...
No that's mean, I feel bad for thinking that.
Just as the surely starving child has stumped me, Lady Kanako came into the room.
"Now just why are you causing so much fuss about hon?"
"O-oh! Lady Kanako I don't how to get him to eat. Can you please help me?"
"Oh well I have nothing better to do I suppose" Kanako sat in front of the child.
"Kiddo, what's your name?" The boy blinked. "I. Asked. Your. Name." The child jumped back in self preservation instinct.
"Lady Kanako... You haven't even introduced yourself yet."
"Oh apologizes, my Name is Kanako Yasaka, the Goddess of wind, rain, and weather. And the goddess enshrined here. What is your name, my child"

I feel lady Kanako's wind behind me, and I suddenly felt no need to correct her lack of plurality of the goddess part. The child on the other hand definitely understood, and tried to speak.
Just to end up coughing.
After a minute of him coughing, he tried to speak again, just to end up needed to clear his throat for another minute, just how long was it since he spoke last? What in HELL were his parents doing?
Finally he spoke, it was the most dry, soft, even brittle voice my ears have ever, and probably will ever hear, like if my ears could break it and lose it if they weren't careful, and it takes me a minute to hear what he said.
"My name is..." He broke into another minute long throat clearing season. "is Sunny Suzaki."
-----
Sunny Suzaki - Young boy in Denial
Capable of controlling his own dream world.
-----
'Sunny'... what a strange name for this child.
Weird naming aside, Kanako Finally spoke again:
"Well then Sunny, I must ask you to eat this my lovely food my lovely ~ Goddess ~ of a daughter made for you, you need the food."
Sunny Refused again, I got red-faced embarrassed over the praise. Great fun.
"Well then, Suzaki, I, as goddess of this shrine, I Demand that you consume this meal." Lightning struck outside the shrine, and after shaking for a minute, Sunny took his first bite.
"Lady Kanako, you didn't need to take such measures!" I complained, threatening Sunny like that didn't seem fair. Kanako Smiled.
"Well, you told me to get him to eat, I got him to eat. I've no clue why you've got your panties in such a twist."
"You know exactly why!" But Kanako was already leaving the room.
"Oh get to bed soon my child, it's nearly 11 o-clock, and you've a busy day tomorrow."
I realized Kanako was probably right, so I waited for Sunny to finish eating.
But half way through he started gagging, and looked at me pleading. "Bathroom, please" And so I lead him to the bathroom...
I heard him throw up...
Did I not cook it well enough? did he have health needs that I ignored? Oh god he probably has allergies, I messed up didn't I? I wanted to talk to him about the outside world but now I can't because he probably hates me now and-
"Sweetheart, you're crying."
Lady Suwako...

-----
"N-no lady Suwako I-I'm fine j-ust something in my eye-"
Lady Suwako hugged me... so warmly, I could just melt.
"It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong, get some rest my child. You deserve it" Then Suwako hopped away... Yeah, I think I do need some sleep.
When Sunny got out of the bathroom I lead him to our spare room, then collasped into bed myself.
