Chapter Text

Midoriya Inko came to know her pregnancy would be an interesting time in her life. Whether it be the gnawing anxiety of her child being a miscarriage, Hisashi’s japing to her plight struck a cord but honestly she couldn't be mad at the love of her life no matter how he lacked tact at times. He had eyes only for her and that's all she asked of him. Hey consistently made the budgeting and planning for their first child and when they heard it was going to be a boy he was elated. Soon after she went into labor and went to the hospital on a rainy day with the Bakugo’s tailing right after to help her through. She was just glad she had her baby boy to introduce to the world.

Green Hair, Green eyes stared back at her not a single cry, not a tear shed.

What a quiet child.

That was her first thought about him, it wasn’t unfounded as all the doctor’s said the same thing, an infant would have made any sort of sound but not her son?

Unlikely, but definitely not unheard of, she was a nurse after all and she came across the odd quiet baby now and then but never completely silent.

Her little… Izuku

Years later Misashi leaves for America after they outsource to him about an engineering job and he still holds up on the payments, but soon Izuku will be out of daycare and into pre-school and her little boy over the years still stayed quiet, she still fed him burped him, changed his pampers, and all the other things that should be for normal babies but she had to make sure because Izuku for some odd reason or another… still never cried. on top of that he had the oddest little kinks to him, whenever it got rainy and they had to go out Izuku babbled and cooed happily out of the weirdest of her… seemingly stoic baby he held the same expression at all times furrowed brows whenever he stumbled and got hurt trying to walk, he kept trying to stand and walk so much he seemingly learned it in a week, bumps and bruises and all.

He never seemed to care to learn how to talk but he always understood her, always listened, always paid attention. Astutely and quietly… When he was past three it was a hot summer day and there was a wasp nest outside the apartment door she never got the landlord to get rid of yet and as soon as she walked into the door Izuku was in arms at 4 years old. A wasp came down and stung him in the cheek…

…he didn't even flinch. Still swishing his lollipop cheek to cheek as his other one swole up.

It was as cute as it was…

Kinda intimidating.

She always wondered what her son’s first actual words will be even as he reaches pre-school. Maybe a more social setting will get him more comfortable.

“Hey you, ain’t Auntie Inko’s kid?”

First week into school roughly a few days in, a kid approaches him as he stands on the side observing the other kids. This one in particular had a leader sort of thing about him, all the other kids listened to him without fail, whether it was because he just swears a lot or because he’s loud was one thing or another.

He nods his head.

“Well why are you just standing there? C’mon I’m bored of these losers not knowing how to play jumping jacks.”

He was curious, he never took to talking, it wasn’t as engaging as hero fights or kung fu movies.

So he walked closer… too close some would say, he kinda got in the kid’s face, he wanted to gauge his reaction.

“Ehhh!? You some kinda weirdo or something, my mom says there’s this thing called puh… um pa… no “personal space!”

Hmm… first words gotta make an impression.

“Wanna fight?”

“...You got a death wish or something? I'll kick your ass right now!”

“Do it then. Too much talking.”

He let him have the first punch, even he knew kids at this age don’t do too much damage.

The right-handed sloppy haymaker hit him in the jaw.

Hmm not bad an accurate punch straight to the jawline means he’s no slouch in a fight. This should be fun.

Soon kids gathered around the two from the commotion. Most of them are cheering on the other kid.

Izuku spoke with his head still turned “HA! Not bad,” he turned his head toward the kid. A wild smile on his face, all teeth “What’s your name?”

“B-Bakugo Katsuki and don’t you forget it, I'll kick your ass and be a hero one day, you’ll see!” shaken up a bit by Midoriya’s expression and lack of reaction to his punch, most kids would be crying and snitching but not this one.

“Ooh interesting, interesting, this’ll be fun!”

Midoriya lunged forward with a start-up charging tackle knocking him to the ground and they wrestled and punched each other for several minutes until the teachers intervened Midoriya bruised up and beaten, but Bakugo even worse off

Soon the parents came to pick them up angry all the while scolding them

“I can’t believe you brat on your first week, are you serious!” Mitsuki snapped

“Izuku I’m lost, being so well-behaved and you'd do this!”

“You’re so grounded! / You are in a heap of trouble Katsuki.”

“What do you mean? Peace was never the option, I got bored and wanted to fight, simple.” Izuku, ever stoic, lazily waved his hand dismissively.

“See, he started it.” Katsuki pouted and winced through his black eye.

“From what the other students say you punched him first after he asked you to fight, you could have easily said no and walked away genius.”

“...”

Bakugo looked down, upset he got beat and chewed out because of some rando. Their parents went into the office to discuss with the principal while they sat outside.

“if it makes you feel better you got a solid punch, you just over-extended a bit more inward toward my chin could have got me seeing stars.

Bakugo looked up, Izuku looking to the side.

“Oh I get it you were just standing by observing the top dog and took your chance to beat me up, well congratulations, dickwad, you got both of us in trouble.” Bakugo said a hurt expression on his face.

Izuku gained a sort of sour expression before looking down and shaking his head “Nah I just got bored and wanted to fight honestly, sure I saw you were a leader of sorts but I honestly was just testing you, not many take up the challenge and throw some blows, y’know? Good bit of pain never hurt anybody.”

“...Haha, so I was right about you being a weirdass!”

“Yeah I guess so, mom always gave me weird looks when I do something… off i guess.”

Bakugo gave him a wild smile of his own, Izuku looked and gave a wild smirk.

"My names Midoriya Izuku. Wanna be my rival?"

"Hell yeah! Let's see if we can rise to the top!"

They shook hands.

Inko and Mitsuki both felt chills crawl up their spine as if something truly chaotic was born.
