If Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite's Story Was Actually Good

Summary:

So as we know, the story in the story mode of MVCI is trash, so I'm deciding to fix it. There are 17 chapters of that story, and they should not take that long to write because there are simple fixes to this story that need to be added. So please enjoy my rewrite of the MVCI story.

Chapter 1: Bridge Assault

*The story begins with a shot of a tear in the fabric of space. The camera slowly zooms in as Ultron and Sigma speak.*

Ultron & Sigma: "We are born of two universes -- each of them imperfect, each inflicted with the cancer of organic life. From their ruins a new universe shall be forged, in the fire of the stones of reality, and space -- all life remade in our image, in steel, free from the sins of the flesh. We already took over your universes. We are inevitable. We are Ultron Sigma... We are your god."

*Camera goes into the tear and fades to black.*

*Cut to the next shot in Xgard, 88 days since the convergence. Captain America's shield is in one of Ultron Sigma's drones. X picks up the shield and uses it to destroy some other drones. He uses his arm cannon to shoot down some other drones as Captain America grabs his shield to back him up.*

Captain America: "Keep fighting, soldier!"

*Strider then slices through some drones before standing with Captain America and X.*

X: "Strider!"

Strider: "Captain, the teams are all in position. The enemies are massing at the palace gates. It's your call."

Captain America: "Then let's get moving, soldiers!"

(FIGHT 1: X and Captain America vs. Ultron Sigma Drones)

*Cut to Chun-Li fighting off some Drones with her kicks and kikokens. A drone lands on the ground only to get destroyed by Captain Marvel.*

Captain Marvel: "Stay down!"

*More drones appear as she lands by Chun-Li.*

Captain Marvel: "They just never seem to learn their lesson, do they?"

Chun-Li: "Then let's reinforce it, shall we?"

(FIGHT 2: Chun-Li and Captain Marvel vs. Ultron Sigma Drones)

*More drones arrive as the fight finishes. The duo combine their powers to destroy the drones coming towards them. Some drones start to rush at them from behind before getting torn apart by Doctor Strange's magic.*

Doctor Strange: "Having some difficulty, are we?"

*Doctor Strange floats down from the skies.*

Captain Marvel: "We were doing just fine."

Doctor Strange: "Well then, I guess you weren't about to get sneak attacked by those drones there."

Chun-Li: "Thanks for the help strange."

*Cut to Ultron Sigma's throne room, where a bunch of Ultron Sigma guards are lined up to hear Ultron Sigma's speech.*

Ultron Sigma: "Heroes of both dimensions... they are weak against our power. But the royalty of Asgard is coming to pay a little visit. We must greet him. Go... Clear out the bridge to make way for our grand entrance."

*Cut to Xgard where Thor is beating up a bunch of Drones with his hammer. He flies up into the air and starts channeling electricity with his Hammer."

Thor: "On behalf of Asgard -- Vengence!"

*He uses the electricity to cast it into Arthur's lance, and Arthur throws it to pierce through two drones and electrify them."

Thor: "Not bad for a small knight, Sir Arthur."

*Cut to the Ultron Sigma guards running at Arthur. Arthur turns around and looks at them."

Arthur: "Ahh, what's this? Fresh, upgraded fodder?”

Thor: "Sir Arthur, yield your lance!"

*Thor flew over to Arthur.*

Thor: "Those are my people... Or what has become of them."

*The camera goes behind them to show the army of guards. Suddenly, a beam appears in front of the guards, knocking them down like bowling pins. Iron Man lands on the ground.*

Iron Man: "I'd love to stay for this Shakespearian gathering, but we have more to worry about than a family reunion."

*Ultron Sigma guards try rushing down the unsuspecting Xgard guards on the other side of the bridge, only to be taken out by Spencer.*

Spencer: "Me neither."

Thor: "But my people-"

Iron Man: "No need to worry, big guy. They are just... taking a nap for now. They'll be fine... Well, fine once Ultron Sigma's down."

*Iron Man notices Arthur's lance.*

Iron Man: "Nice weapon there, Lance-a-little. Compensating for something?"

*Arthur hides his Lance behind his back. More drones start to rush at the trio*

(FIGHT 3: Thor and Arthur vs. Ultron Sigma Guards)

*Cut to Dante destroying some Ultron Sigma drones.*

Dante: "Seven - six, eight - six, nine - six! Gotta say, Hawky, embarrassing performance."

*The camera zooms to Hawkeye, who uses an arrow that splits into four separate arrows to destroy four separate drones.*

Hawkeye: "Sorry, could you repeat that again? Too busy winning to hear ya."

Rocket Raccoon: "Ok, cool it hotshot."

The camera cuts to Rocket Raccoon holding his gun."

Rocket Raccoon: "Dante, you got some ammo?"

Dante: "Sorry, Rocket. All out this time."

Rocket Raccoon: "Well then, I guess we just have to use other sources. GROOT!"

*Groot jumps down beside Rocket, as the drones rush at him and Dante."

Dante: "Alright, nature boys, let's dance!"

(FIGHT 4: Rocket Raccoon and Dante vs. Ultron Sigma Drones)

*Cut to Captain America taking out drones with his shield. The camera zooms to Chris Redfield shooting at some Ultron Sigma drones while Thor fights some in the background.*

Chris: "Damn, these things just don't give up."

Thor: "The drones are the easy part, Commander Redfield. My people - Ultron Sigma's guards, are much more unrelenting because of their training in Asgard."

*Thor takes out some drones and Ultron Sigma guards with his hammer.*

X: "Don't worry, Thor. Ultron Sigma's going to pay for what he's done to our homes."

*Two guards start running at X and Thor.*

(FIGHT 5: Thor and X vs. Ultron Sigma Guards)

Thor: "I am sorry my people, but I will soon release you from the grasp that Ultron Sigma has on you."

*Cut to Captain America grabbing his shield after taking out a drone."

Captain America: "Where's Strange?"

*Strange teleports behind Captain America*

Doctor Strange: "You call for my assistance, Captain?"

Captain America: "Strange, is there any way you can get us in?"

Doctor Strange: "Unfortunately, I must rely on Asgard's magic, which has been weekend by the convergence. However, if you need, we could breach the walls of the prison instead."

Captain America: "I'll take that lead. Calling in Commander Redfield, do you copy?"

Chris: "We got a way in?"

Captain America: "We're only able to get into the prison, not the throne room. But a lead is a lead, Commander!"

Chris: "I'll take it."

*Suddenly a drone rushes down from the skies at Chris who quickly takes it out with a simple snap of its neck.*

Chris: "Call in the forces. This prisoner better be worth the hassle."

Captain America: "Got it. This is Captain America, calling in strike team one."

*The group of Chun-Li, Strider, and Rocket run over to Chris. Strange follows by teleporting and creating a magic portal."

Doctor Strange: "To answer your question, Commander, yes, this prisoner will be worth it."

*Everybody but Captain America jumps into the portal.*

Captain America: "Good luck out there soldiers... It's do or die."

Notes:

As you can see, for the most part, it's simple script changes, but that might be because the script is terrible. I tried to cut out the 500 mentions of the character's names as much as possible as well as the corny dialogue (The entire scene where Rocket takes Ebony and Ivory from Dante or Arthur's forced-ass response to Thor). There will be more changes to the actual events in the story.

Chapter 2: Rescue Mission

*The scene opens up with a shot of the X-Gard Underground Prison, 88 days since the conversion. Chris is leaning over the wall of a stair railing.*

Chris: "Clear."

*Chris walks past the railing with Strider following behind him. On the other side of them are Chun-Li, Strange, and Rocket. The camera cuts to the latter two looking around the prison.*

Strange: "Can you feel it?"

Rocket: "Feel what?"

Strange: "This psychic maelstrom of torment, and despair?"

Rocket: "Well, when you put it that way, this place sucks even more."

*Suddenly, the group hears a noise behind them. One consisting of flight and speed. They turn around and notice two Ultron Sigma drones flying towards them with two Ultron Sigma guards running towards them.*

Ultron Sigma Guards: "Halt!"

(FIGHT 1: Chris Redfield and Rocket Raccoon vs. 2 Ultron Sigma Drones and 2 Ultrong Sigma Guards)

*The scene cuts to the group, victorious, looking around.*

Rocket: "Really? No other ones are coming out?"

Chris: "Never mind that we need to move."

*The group starts running through the prison's halls, only stopping at a specific cell.*

Chris: "This is it."

*Chris walks up to the hand scan that the cell needs to open and puts his palm on it. The scan identifies his palm as a staff member and makes the wall of the cell transparent.*

Chun-Li: "With all the times we've tried to stop Ultron Sigma, you'd think he'd have a more secure prison system."

*Behind the transparent doors is a man, looking like a goliath, trapped in a maximum security suit.*

Rocket: "Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me that THIS is the guy we came here to retrieve?"

Chun-Li: "What is it about this guy, Rocket?"

Rocket: "That guy is pure evil. PURE evil. Someone, back me up on this."

*Suddenly, alarms start blaring through the prison as red lights start to flash throughout*

Strider: "Commander, it's your call."

*Chris takes a moment to think to himself.*

Chris: "It's our only option now."

*Chris opens the cell fully through the hand scan lock, leading it to reveal the figure within it a bit more clearly.*

Chris: "It's all or nothing."

Notes:

This chapter is really short. Took me a single day to do it, and in under 30/45 minutes too. I'll continue updating the story when I feel like it, so apologies in advance if it feels inconsistent with chapter releases.

Chapter 3: Unmasked

*The scene opens with Captain America, X, Captain Marvel, and Spencer fighting off Ultron Sigma drones on the Xgard Bridge.*

Spencer: "We can't hold these guys off forever..."

Captain America: "Keep pushing through... Redfield will be here soon."

Captain Marvel: "They're a small team—agile. They'll get the job done."

*Cut to a close-up of Captain America receiving a signal from Hawkeye, showing both of their situations.*

Hawkeye: "Cap, this is Hawkeye. We're out of time—I've got eyes on him."

Captain America: "You have a clear shot; take it."

Hawkeye: "On it."

*Cut to Hawkeye's perspective as he prepares to shoot an arrow at Ultron Sigma. With one shot, the arrow flows through the air toward Ultron Sigma, splitting into three in the process. Two shots hit the drones beside him, while the reality stone destroys the other shot.*

Captain America: "All teams, engage!"

*Ultron Sigma tore the cape off his back, pulling out a sword in the process. Captain America throws his shield at Ultron as he lands, only to catch it. Thor throws Mjolnir at Ultron Sigma to no avail, as it deflects onto Hawkeye. Cap's shield is thrown at Thor, while Captain Marvel shoots a beam at Ultron Sigma that he dodges. Spencer tries to reel in Ultron Sigma, only to be tossed around like a carousel. As Ultron Sigma goes to kill Spencer, Dante stops him with his sword, only to be overpowered by Ultron Sigma's weapon. Suddenly, Arthur starts attacking Ultron Sigma's back, eliciting a reaction of amusement from the robot. He tosses Arthur aside as if he were a child's plaything. Captain America's shield suddenly glides past Ultron Sigma, who ducks the U-turn. X then hops on the shield in mid-air, getting kicked back at Ultron Sigma by Cap. X charges his buster at Ultron Sigma, but it does nothing. Ultron Sigma lifts X up and pushes his face into the concrete before stepping on his defeated body. As he goes in for the kill with his sword, a laser shoots away Ultron Sigma's weapon. Iron Man jets toward Ultron Sigma, only to have his head thrown into the concrete like X's. Ultron Sigma looks up and shoots two laser beams from his hands at Captain America, whose shield can't handle the pressure. Two guards try to attack Ultron Sigma, but he only grabs the two knights by their heads. He lifts them slowly and begins transforming them into his guards.*

Thor: "No!"

*Ultron Sigma lets go of the two transformed guards, who fall flat to the floor. They start resurrecting themselves like zombies.*

Ultron Sigma: "These are the extent of the universe's might? The 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes?' How pathetic to think you could stop us for even a second. And yet, you still dare to fight, Prince of Asgard."

Thor: "I will not let you get off so easily for what you've done to my people. For that, you must pay!"

(FIGHT 1: Thor and Spencer vs. Two Guards and Ultron Sigma)

Ultron Sigma: "Pitiful. Do you see now how powerless you truly are?"

*Mjolnir drops to the ground. Thor reaches for it, only for Ultron Sigma to stomp on his hand.*

Ultron Sigma: "Weep not for your people, Thor—they have achieved perfection... And soon, you shall be their prince once more."

*Out of his hand, Ultron Sigma starts casting a purple beam of radiation onto Thor. He's suddenly shot at by a returning Chris.*

Ultron Sigma: "Commander Redfield! Did you have something to add—some great insight?"

Chris: "This'll be over soon!"

Ultron Sigma: "Of course, it will be—with me as ruler of the universe on top of my throne."

*Ultron Sigma floats into the air with a pinkish-red aura of radiation around him. He summons a hole above that starts raining down purple projectiles.*

Chris: "Flank him!"

*Captain America runs in to cover Chris from the projectiles with his shield. Strider rushes to Thor and teleports him away, with Ultron Sigma turning around to see them escape. Cap and Chris start running towards Strange.*

Captain America: "Strange, we gotta go now!"

Strange: "With pleasure, Captain."

*All of the heroes at the bridge start jumping into the portal Strange created. It closes off, leaving Ultron Sigma and his drones to laugh off their pitiful attempt at an attack.*

Notes:

Lots of scene described here. The chapter is quite short but has a lot of action going on. Not much to cut here since I liked most of what I heard and saw. Just a few little dialogue things either to add to a character, or to takeaway a cringy line that Chris says as soon has he arrives.
