Work Header

Well this is kinda unexpected, but we can work with this, right?

Summary:

It’s been a few years since Uzi, N, and the others saved Copper 9 from Cyn’s mass destruction.

A few years of fixing everything back to normal, and regaining lost things.

A few years of Uzi and N being together, and also planning to get married.

…and then some things just kinda decide to flip.

Notes:

If you read the tags, as you can see, I thought of this story at a really poor time in the morning, and that I may just regret writing this at some point or another. I don’t know where this idea really came from, but I’m putting it out there anyway because I have nothing better to do. Also this, as again stated previously, takes place AFTER the finale of MD. I really don’t know why I make these things. Sue Me.

Chapter 1: Oh. Oh Dear. This is Poor Timing.

Chapter Text

Uzi paced around the bathroom.

Why was this possibility possibly on the table of all times?

A month prior, N had just proposed to Uzi, and she had happily accepted. They’d been dating without much of any problems for two years anyway, so why not? They loved each other!

But if what she was now thinking was happening was true, she’d go into a highly worried panic.

Yeah, sure, they were in fact living together now (and had been now for a good year and a half with V holding down the spare bedroom), she doesn’t think this would be ideally the greatest thing to come. True, Uzi loved to rebel against the odds, but she doesn’t think this would be one of the ones she’d go for.

A small device beeped on the bathroom counter, making her freeze where she walked, shut her eyes, and slowly turned in place towards it. She held her breath for a moment before taking a single step forward, and slowly opening one eye.

Two Lines.

Uzi thought she was gonna hurl again for the third time that day.

“…You’re kidding. Of all the times in the world… why can’t you be kidding?” She grumbled to the device on the counter. At that moment she really wanted to chuck the thing at the wall and watch it shatter into a million pieces. But instead, she grabbed it off the counter and shoved it in the back of one of the counter drawers. She was one of the only ones who used this specific drawer so it was filled with all her stuff. If anyone went looking for something, they’d only see her things, and hopefully not… that. She’d find a better place for it later.

She then legitimately did start to panic a bit. How in Robo-Jesus name would she tell the others? At least N?

N.

He definitely has a right to know.

…but she was terrified he’d hate her after finding out. Hell, what about her own parents?

Her parents were already kinda weird about her dating N to begin with. Even after they announced they were engaged, yeah, they were happy for their daughter, but they also still had mixed feelings about N. An Ex Murderous Drone. Even though he was one of the most optimistic drones anyone had ever met, some still partially feared or disliked him.

Especially Uzi’s Parents.

So if she brought up, at almost anytime that, ‘Hey, N and I are expecting a kid’, she knew they’d flip.

Oh God. Even just thinking that sentence made her stomach flip again.

She held back the urge to vomit. She was now trying to figure out how to hide this. Literally anything from any of this. At least for a little while. While her mind raced, she heard a knock on the bathroom door.

“You good in there?” Asked a slightly annoyed V from the other side.

Well Shit.

Uzi quickly stepped towards the door and pulled it open, trying not to let the sheer panic of everything she just thought about overwhelm her. “Oh! V! Hi, sorry about that, just uh… brushing my teeth like normal!” This was the worst excuse she’d ever thought in her life, but she gave a nervous smile anyway. V looked her up and down with an unbelieving look on her face. “Ooookayyyy… Well we’re waiting for you, ya know. It’s movie night, remember? And it’s your turn to pick the movie.” She crossed her arms. “O-Oh! Right. Totally. I’ll uh… be right there. Need to grab something from my room quick. She pointed down the hall of their apartment.

V rolled her eyes and stepped out of the way, briefly watching Uzi leave the bathroom before making her way back towards the living room. When Uzi got to her and N’s shared room, grabbed a giant fluffy blanket off the floor and shook it out, then glancing over to her notebook, which she filled with various doodles and drawings that meant various things. She treated it partially as a diary, but instead of writing down proper sentences, she’d draw. She picked it up for a moment and flipped to a blank page, grabbing the pen she’d left in the rings holding the book together. She pulled the cap off with her teeth and spat it off to the side of the room. She then dragged the pen slowly down the page.

Then one more time.

The two single lines in the middle of the page made her wonder why she now put them there. Forever staining the paper.

“Uzi! You coming?”

She quickly closed the book and tossed it and the pen to the side. “Yeah! Right now!” She wadded the blanket in her hands before running out of the bedroom and towards the living room. She didn’t know how she was gonna be able to see N, but she knew she’d have to try.

Chapter 2: Existing feels like an Existential Crisis

Notes:

Screaming, Crying, Sobbing, Throwing Up- I don’t wanna talk about the things I’m feeling writing this story right now- maybe in about 12 chapters (guesstimate) from now I will- I don’t know anymore- if you guys like it though, pop off I guess.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Uzi was snuggled up to N on the couch as they watched the movie she picked out, blanket draped over them. V sat in a chair kitty corner across from them, texting (probably her girlfriend, Lizzy) and watching the movie. Uzi had picked out, as normal, an anime style horror movie. N got startled the most with these movies more than anyone, which was honestly amusing to Uzi, whereas V couldn’t care less.

Uzi, however, despite being snuggled up to the one who’s been with her through everything, had never been more nervous be next to him right now in her life. She took a quick glance up at him before looking away, taking note of his relaxed expression and his arm wrapped around her. She edged closer to him. Making him look down towards her and pulled her ever so closer affectionately, then back to the movie.

Uzi was used to this, but the anxious feeling was just as tightly wrapped around her brain then the snuggle hug that N was giving her. She tried shoving the feeling off to the side and putting her full focus on the movie, but it lingered. She at least wanted to finish the movie yet tonight and then maybe tell N. She wants to tell him about this. She has to tell him about this.

Soon.

*~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~*

Two weeks passed. Two Very. Long. Weeks. Uzi was now staring to go through cravings like wildfire, which she honestly hated most of. Whether it be particular food or extra attention from N (and she didn’t completely mind the extra snuggles and hugs from him). She also had to deal with additional morning sickness which, she was doing everything she could to hide it from the others, and just barely doing it.

Cyn wasn’t helping much either when she wasn’t dormant. She didn’t know anything either thankfully, despite the fact she was apart of Uzi as a tail. If Cyn found out, Uzi knew she’d probably blab about it.

She was sure V was starting to notice a bit. The glances and looks she sent towards her when she’d be eating, or getting a little extra clingy with N… she was positive V was making some guesses.

And now, it was a Tuesday morning, and for once, Uzi didn’t thankfully feel as sick today. She somehow woke up before N, which was a rare event. So she changed into a simple tank top and shorts, sneaking out of their room making her way towards the kitchen. When she rounded the corner of the hall however, she was then met face to face with V, making her gasp, startled. “V! What the hell?” She whisper shouted at the other ex murdering robot.

“I live here, idiot. Don’t you remember?” She replied, turning away from the purple haired drone and back to the fridge. “You want anything from here? You’ve been a lot hungrier lately it seems.” She said it over her shoulder, glancing towards her. “Uh- I think I’m good… Hey wait- Why are you awake this early? Aren’t you like… Kinda Nocturnal?” She briefly pointed at her with a raised brow, quickly trying to change the subject from her recent eating habit.

V shrugged, grabbing a soda out of the fridge shutting it promptly, going to sit down on one of the nearby counter stools. Uzi wasn’t entirely sure what to say at the moment. Just because they lived together and were friends, doesn’t mean they always talk to each other too much about other things. N once called them “Silent and Deadly Buddies”, which the duo wasn’t too big on, but went with it anyway.

V looked at her up and down. “So when ya gonna tell him?” She said suddenly, keeping a total straight face. “W-WHAT? Tell him what- Him who?” Uzi panicked, quickly covering her mouth after her slightly louder outburst. V kept her stare on her, only now just raising an eyebrow. “I mean uh… Okay I literally don’t know- What are you talking about?” She asked, quickly trying to relax her posture. V used her tail to pull out another stool and patted it gesturing for her come and sit with her.

Uzi let out a defeated sigh and slowly trudged over and sat down, now leaning on the counter and starring at the floor. While she looked down, V faced opposite to her, watching the hall where Uzi once stood seconds ago. Neither of them liked eye contact unless it absolutely depended on it. “How’d you uh… figure it out?” Uzi fiddled with her hands, continuing to look down. “It wasn’t too hard. I only just thought that a couple days ago, buuut your reaction just now kinda confirmed it.”

Uzi groaned and dropped her face in her hands. “I mean, if it makes you feel any better, you hid it fairly well from me at least for a bit. And if it helps, N’s a bit of an oblivious idiot at times.” Uzi couldn’t help but agree to that one. He was a little ditzy sometimes, but it was adorable to her. “How far along are you?” V asked, taking a swallow of soda. “About three to four weeks or so if not longer…” she sighed.

“And you haven’t told N because…?” She turned to face Uzi this time. Even she wasn’t quite sure why anymore other than just pure nerves and how he might react. “I guess… I guess I don’t want him to weird out about it or… or leave…” V let out a snicker which slowly turned to a soft bit of laughter, and Uzi’s head quickly shot up to look at her soda drinking companion. “How is this funny to you?” She asked with a glare, watching V catch her breath. “Open your eyes! Have you seen how much this ditzy-doo slight idiot drone cares about you? It’s N for Gods sake! If he didn’t care about you he wouldn’t have asked you to marry him. He defends you, supports you, and has saved you more times than I can count! Yeah, it might be a little… scary… but he’ll still love you. No matter what happens, or what you decide, or whatever. But you NEED to tell him. You’ll probably start showing soon anyway.”

Uzi’s eyes widened a bit. She had never heard V with this much sincerity and emotion before. It really caught her off guard. But she took a deep breath before giving her a nod. “V… you won’t… um… tell him about this before hand… will you?” She asked, turning towards her fully. “Why would I? Yeah, I’m a bit of a jerk sometimes and do or say things I probably shouldn’t, but this is allllll on you.” She stood up from her spot at the counter, soda in hand, and walked back towards the hall, passing by a yawning N who just woke up for the day, beaming when he spotted Uzi. “Goooood morning, Sunshine! What do you want for breakfast today?” A grin stretched across his face as he came up to her and gave her a tight hug, which she gladly accepted.

She thought about telling him right then and there. A quick think back to the conversation her and V just had mere seconds to minutes ago. She sighed and shook her head. “…Bacon and eggs sound good right now.” “I’m on it!” He released her and gave her a quick and kinda goofy salute before starting the meal.

She’ll tell him later.

Notes:

Nervous wreck much, huh Uzi? Maybe V has a point…

Chapter 3: Festering Courage

Notes:

Will Uzi FINALLY tell N, or is she still gonna be too much of a nervous wreck to say a word?

Chapter Text

One Month.

It had been One Month of not saying a single word about this to N since she found out.

One Month of what felt like an impenetrable silence.

One Month, and she was definitely starting to show, like V had warned her about.

One Month of never knowing how, where, and when to bring it up.

One Month of morning sickness that, when N finally found out about, she played it off as eating weird food the night before.

Uzi was pretty sure not telling N at this point was gonna kill her.

She started looking into it a bit with whatever free time she had, whether it be with an ‘Incognito Mode’ on her phone, or basic secret research at the library. She found out that, compared to humans, they actually have children sooner than them. Aka, in about six months.

Six Months.

That bothered Uzi for some reason. That meant she HAS to tell N, at least before the three month mark. She’d definitely be showing even more then and wouldn’t be able to hide it that long. She also knew that her parents would also find out. Another conversation she ESPECIALLY didn’t want to have.

She brought that part up to V a few days after talking to her the first time, and she didn’t really know how to help with that one.

She once again thought about telling Cyn, but was extremely hesitant about it. She’s been living in/as Uzi’s tail for over two years now and the only thing she can really do is talk to or bite someone. But the talking is what Uzi was afraid of here. She decided against it again, deciding to tell her last after her parents.

Oh God her parents.

N, without knowing better, decided to host a dinner for the four of them that night. V was going to be out with Lizzy that night and figured they could try bonding before Uzi and N tie the knot.

Uzi would have liked the idea more if she wasn’t one month in of only being able to eat particular foods without getting sick, and wearing slightly baggier clothes to hide any showing. And god forbid if Cyn became magically active again during this dinner. After she almost destroyed the world, everyone still had mixed opinions about that.

Uzi stood in her and N’s bedroom and looked at herself in the tall standing mirror in the corner, a larger crack practically decorating the upper left corner of it. She had tried dressing as casual as she could without being too casual. A simple pair of ripped black jean shorts, a dark purple tank top, and a slightly baggier pure black off the shoulder sweatshirt over the top.

She looked down in the mirror towards her stomach, gently placing a hand over it. “This… still seems really strange to me…” She muttered to herself. “Can you… Can you at least let me eat something without getting me sick this one time…?” She asked with a bit of a sigh. She knew she wouldn’t get a response, but it was the thought that she guess counted. She lowered her hand to her side and N walked in the room.

“Hey Casual Dinner Buddy!” He grinned, giving her a wink and pointing finger guns at her. Despite the fact that they’ve been dating and engaged as long as they had been, he still called her a “Insert Something Here Buddy”, and it was another thing she found utterly adorable.

“H-Hey! You look nice.” She looked him up and down fondly. He also wore to the ankle black jeans with a couple of rips, and a dark gray band shirt with the words ‘Thirty Seven and a Half Pilots’, still wearing his hat as always. He rarely took it off, which was kinda funny to Uzi, but she also didn’t take off her beanie too much, so that was justified. “Hey, not to sound like a creep, but were you… talking to the mirror?” N pointed between Uzi and the mirror for a moment.

Crap.

“Oh! Uh- yeah! Just telling myself how punk I look for this dinner tonight! They won’t see us coming!” Uzi knew in that moment that she’d probably win an award for the world’s worst excuses on the planet of Copper 9.

“Of course! And I can be the cool Emo Boyfriend and Fiancé with the cool band shirts!” He crossed his arms and stood in a stance. Uzi laughed pretty hard at that, her worries seeming to melt away for a moment realizing that she hasn’t laughed like this since before she found out about her situation. It felt good.

“N, you don’t have a single Emo circuit in your body. I think you’re fine just the way you are.” She walked over to him, giving him a hug with a smile. “Awww~ For a punk, you sure are a softie.” He returned the hug, spinning her a bit as he did, making Uzi laugh again. “Alright fine you caught me. But if you tell anyone that, you’re dead.” She gave him a half serious joking look and he saluted her in return. “Your secrets safe with me!”

Secrets.

Uzi froze a bit as he released her and started walking back the hallway and towards the kitchen. That’s when she grabbed his hand without really thinking. He turned his head to look back at her. “Uzi? What’s up?” She looked at the floor for a long moment before he fully turned to face her, kneeling slightly to try and have her eyes meet his. “Are you okay?”

She held back her nervous and fearful tears. Keeping her gaze on the floor of the hall. She had to tell him. This was it. If she waited any longer, something could happen. Anything could happen. “I… I need to tell you something, but… but I don’t know how…” Her voice was just above a whisper, trying to keep her voice from cracking under the pressure of everything now falling on her at once.

N let out a soft hum and sat on the floor in front of her, still holding her hand. “Well, you can take as long as you need! I don’t mind the wai-” “BUT I NEED TO TELL YOU NOW!” She tearfully snapped before he could finish, looking up at him clasping her other free hand over her mouth in shock. N looked a little shocked himself, for good reason, but he quickly regained his relaxed face, and opened his free arm for a hug.

Uzi took a step forward and partially fell into him, accepting his hug and started crying into his shoulder. “I-I’m sorry I d-don’t know how to talk about- about any of this- and-and I’m sorry I snapped l-like that at you- that was so mean and-and uncalled for and-” N soothingly rubbed her back, which was calming her down as he did. “Hey… Hey Uzi… it’s okay… we all go through things sometimes. I understand you said it’s something you really wanna say, but if you want, we can talk about this, no more stalling, at the end of dinner? We’ll be totally alone. No pressure, No distractions, just us. I know it’s a little bit longer, but what do you think? Otherwise, actually, I’m an idiot, if you want, we can just cancel the dinner if you want?”

Uzi thought about it for a moment. It’s been this long, why not a couple more hours? Nothing would really change in that time, would it? She pulled away from their hug, now leaning into one of N’s hands. “I don’t wanna cancel the dinner. Robo-Jesus forbid if we give them a half baked excuse as to why we cancel. My Dad would know if it was an excuse instantly.” N brushed some stands of hair out of her face. “Alright then. Well if anything happens, I’ll be sitting next to you, so if it comes to it, squeeze my hand as hard as you’d like.”

This was one of the reasons why she loved N. Like V said, he was always there for her.

And always would be.

She leaned forward and gave him a quick peck before pulling away sheepishly, looking to the floor. “T-Thanks…” He gave her a warm smile leaned in himself, giving her a quick peck on the cheek, making her look back towards him. “Uzi, I love you. I’ll always help you however I can. No matter what.”

She sniffed a bit and placed her hand on top of his. “I love you too.”

Just then, there was a fairly loud knock at the door, making the duo jump where they sat. N quickly stood up, helping Uzi up in the process. “Are you sure you wanna do this?” He asked one more time as they made their way to the door. “Yeah… Yeah let’s do this.”

N opened the door and the two were now face to face with Khan and Nori Doorman.

Anything could now happen, and it could either be good or bad.

Chapter Text

Uzi felt her stomach ache that entire dinner right from bite one.

And it only got worse as it went on. A mix of nerves and food didn’t make any of this better. True, she’d be telling N about it after this was over, but she knew if her parents found out now, it’d basically be the end of the world times ten.

She gave up eating anything more that night while her parents were there. She knew if she ate anything else of any kind she’d end up vomiting for the next hour.

She’d internally begged and prayed her parents would leave the second they got there, which she knew wouldn’t work but it was worth a shot.

Through most of that dinner, she held N’s hand under the table out of sight, silently squeezing it here and there, gaining a squeeze back from him in comfort and acknowledgment.

At one point, N brought up them getting married, which Uzi was honestly all for. It took several (fifteen to thirty) minutes of talking about it and convincing. Even though Uzi was an adult living with her best friend and boyfriend as well as other friend V, her parents weren’t that enthusiastic about it. But they finally agreed on it, but with the only condition of them waiting until and making a specific day in July for the wedding. No sooner, and no later.

And they agreed on July 18th. That gave them time to plan and prepare. Especially for Uzi.

Towards then end of the dinner, Uzi was getting particularly tired. She had briefly read about this before, that being the waves of unbridled tiredness you could get from this around or just after the first month. She was almost struggling to stay awake. N noticed this and carefully found a way to bring it up.

“Well! Uh, it’s getting kinda late and stuff, and you guys probably have a long walk back to your place right? Right. So you should probably get going!” N quickly stood up from his seat at the table, startling Uzi a bit with his sudden speed. Khan raised a brow and looked at Nori, who still remained as just a walking and talking heart without a body who liked and could only really drink… drinks. All she did was shrug at his response and looked at her daughter, who was doing everything she could already to stay awake and not throw up, which was a lot harder than it sounded.

“N’s right, I hate to say. Uzi’s looking pretty tired. We should get going for the night.” Khan let out a sigh, slowly turning back to the other two drones. “I’ll admit. I’m still not the happiest drone on the planet about this… but if it makes you happy… fine. Also, he’s a good cook.” He gestured to N and the mostly empty plates on the table. Mostly empty because of Uzi’s unfinished meal.

“Aww thanks Mr. Doorman! I’ve always enjoyed cooking for others! It’s one of my favorite things to do!” He grinned happily and Nori chuckled at his enthusiasm. “He doesn’t compliment cooking too much, so congratulations on getting one out of him. It’s a rare event.” The three of them chuckled and Uzi, awkwardly stood up, slowly showing them towards the door.

And finally, after several more minutes, they FINALLY left, leaving N and Uzi alone again. She could barely see straight with how tired she was, but she promised N she’d tell him what’s going on.

N turned to face her after shutting the door, looking at Uzi in her amber and purple eyes. His look softened, seeing how exhausted she was just standing there. “Alright… I know we agreed on talking about your… whatever it was after your parents left, but you look absolutely dead in your feet. Do you wanna get some sleep and we’ll talk in the morning instead?” Uzi could barely process what he was saying but from she’d heard, she nodded anyway, starting to shuffle back to their room before N swiftly came up next to her and helped her over, making sure she didn’t stumble over on the way.

He tucked her into bed, giving her a quick peck on the forehead and whispering a goodnight before turning off the light and making his way back to the kitchen. She was really thankful he didn’t mind waiting a little extra time for what she had to say, and also didn’t unfortunately mind doing the dishes from the dinner. She really wish she could have finished her plate of cooked chicken, which N was a god at making. If she was lucky he’d save some for her for tomorrow.

That was the last thing she remembered before falling into a deep sleep.

*~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~ *~*

A couple days passed since the dinner and Uzi hadn’t gotten a chance to talk to N once, SOMEHOW. This was honestly just starting to annoy her now. The being busy to the point of not much communication lately part that is. This happened a few times before, which wasn’t unnormal, but it still sucked. They unfortunately both had things to do. N had been helping V work on fixing a single rocket pod, hoping to get it to work again. He was the pilot after all, annd if they can fix it, he flies it. And this was one of those fix-it days. And Uzi, unfortunately for her, woke up far later than when he left.

So now, she laid in bed, wrapped almost cocoon style in several blankets, hand draped over her stomach, thinking. Thinking about how to tell him. She could try staying up later tonight for when he gets home and try telling him then? Or maybe write it down and give it to him? Nah. That one sounded bad. Besides, that’d almost be the same as texting him.

Wait.

The test.

She quickly sat up in bed, remembering how she shoved it in the back of one of the bathroom drawers. If she was struggling so much to say it, why not just SHOW it to him?

Uzi quickly jumped from her cocoon of blankets and ran into the bathroom, now on her knees digging through the bathroom drawer, looking for where it went. After a little while of digging, she finally pulled it out, placing it on the counter and standing back up, staring at it for a moment again herself.

The device that made her practically have a heart attack a short time ago with two single lines.

She took a deep breath, slowly breathing out. Was she really gonna do this?

“What do you have there, Uzi?”

Uzi let out a startled yelp, now looking over to see a once again no longer dormant for now Cyn, investigating the test on the counter. “C-Cyn! Don’t startle me like that! Also, it’s none of your business!” She snatched the test off the counter and shoved it in her hoodie pocket, glaring at her tail.

“Apologies for the startlement. I’m just as curious as a dog. What do you expect?” She then licked one of her many eyes, without blinking once. Uzi honestly missed when she could simply just control her own tail and not have a semi-spooky insane murderous woman inside it. She would admit that it was kinda nice for them to talk once in a while when she was in the apartment alone. But that was a VERY rare event.

The only plus side to her being a tail otherwise, is how often she went dormant again. She had limited energy and was only really super active when she stored her energy, this being one of those times.

“So what are you planning to do today, Uzi? More video games and rapid soda drinking while yelling at ten year olds online?” As much as Uzi loved to do that, she suddenly had a much different idea in mind. “Actually Cyn… not that today. I’m gonna face some stupid fears and go tell the guy I like what I need to tell him even if it kills me! Even if the method is probably a little… stupid. Or, heck, a LOT stupid.” She grumbled as ran a hand through her hair, frazzled.

“Why don’t I tell him your news? That way you won’t be as hassled to do it?” Uzi shook her head. “It doesn’t have anything to do with you, Cyn. That, and it’s MY news. I NEED to tell him myself.” She started walking out of the bathroom and towards the front door. She was already dressed for the day, all she needed was shoes.

“And you are going outdoors to tell him this information?” Cyn asked, watching her slide on her classic black combat style boots. “Well, if it means you go dormant again since you don’t like the cold too much, then yeah. One hundred percent. No offense Cyn, but I’m pretty sure if you found out before my own fiancé, I think I’d honestly die.”

“Ha. Ha. That would be funny.” Cyn laughed, keeping her same tone of voice. It was hard to tell if she was being dramatic or not sometimes. N lived with her for a while many years ago, so he had a better time of telling the tone change and what she meant.

“Alright Cyn-tail-thing. Time for you to go.” Cyn complied, disappearing as quickly and quietly as she appeared. Uzi reached for the door handle with one hand, and back into her hoodie pocket, grabbing the test with the other. She didn’t know why she was doing this now. She wasn’t entirely sure she wanted to do this now. But she knew she had to. For all she knew, she could be closer to two months along than she thinks.

She has to tell him. It’s now or never.

Notes:

I know what everyone’s gonna say… “Why not include the full dinner scene of Uzi, N, Nori, and Khan?” Well guys I tried. I really freaking tried, but I unfortunately after the first two attempts, I gave up and wrote it like this, which I honestly liked a lot better (I’m also not that good at writing more than three character scenes that often so sue me- I’m working in it). But fret not, we’ll see Nori and Khan again soon probably. I’m not a monster. Also, with Cyn… I wanna add more Cyn. And I definitely will. I’m not sure how yet, but I will. As said previously, I’m not a monster… probably-

Chapter 5: Confessioner’s Delight

Notes:

In the show and it a lot of fics I’ve read, I’ve seen a LOT of Uzi kinda struggle to communicate sometimes, and honestly, I love it. I relate to her like that. Idk- she’s just a girl who needs some therapy. Maybe this time she’ll finally be able to speak her mind.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Uzi glided through the sky. She loved gliding when she got the chance to. Her and N would fly around Copper 9 together, looking down at all the other drones below from their sky high sitting perches or wind current.

She stopped mid glide and practically floated in the air in the moment, pulling the test out of her pocket and looking at it again.

If she didn’t tell N, he’d probably hate her for the rest of her life.

She nodded to herself, shoving it back in her pocket and continued flying along, now looking for the airship rocket her roommates were working on.

“Hey, pass Me that wrench down there!” V called down to N as she is was waist deep in an electrical equipment department on the ship. N grabbed it, climbing up the ladder to where V was. “Hey… can I ask you something?” He asked, handing her the wrench.

She grabbed it with her tail and pulled herself out of the compartment she had been in. “Yeah, what?” V had an exasperated tone, most likely due to the hours they’d been out there, with not a lot of progress made.

“Do you think Uzi is acting a little… ya know… off lately?” He asked, scratching his arm awkwardly. V almost dropped her wrench hearing that, mood instantly changing from exasperated to slight and non-visible panic. She thought Uzi would have maybe told him by now.

“Uh… I mean… where did you come up with that?” She took the wrench with her hand and quickly started tightening a bolt that didn’t really need tightening, but she was sure gonna try distracting herself a bit from saying something off putting.

“I don’t know… the other day before her parents showed up for dinner, she had a little bit of a breakdown- or- not a breakdown, just honestly upset, but she said she had something really important to tell me, and she didn’t know how to put it…” He slid back down the ladder landing gracefully in the snow below, V slowly climbing down behind him.

“And, she’s, well, she’s been having a lot more problems eating lately, and I don’t know if it’s some kinda food poisoning, or if she’s sick or- Oh my God what if she’s dying and hasn’t told me? WHAT IF SHE’S DYING, V?” N panicked, now pacing around in front of V, who gave him a very unamused look.

“I don’t think she’s dying, N.” She crossed her arms and shook her head. She desperately wanted to tell him the truth, but obviously didn’t want to for obvious reasons.

“THEN…! Then… then why is she acting the way she is? Does she… not trust me? Maybe… maybe she doesn’t wanna get married after all? Maybe I rushed it a bit? Maybe she was just being polite? Oh god I’m a terrible drone.” N had removed his hat, death gripping it in his hands, worry dripping from his face like a melting ice cream cone. “Woah woah woah there, that’s definitely not it.” N looked at her baffled. “V… do you know anything?”

V froze, now staring at N and his large gold and sad yet curious eyes. “Let me explain what I do know.” She leaned back on the ladder, N deciding to sit in the snow below his feet. “Uzi loves you very very much, and she puts a world, hell, a UNIVERSE of trust in you. Like, more trust with you than even her own parents.”

N looked thoughtfully at V, full attention on her. “She’s nervous to talk to you about particular things sometimes. She doesn’t always know how to communicate with words, and we both know that. I think… I think she’ll be able to tell you in her own way when she’ll think of something. She’s a bit strange, but, what do you expect from a girl like that?” She chuckled at the last part, also getting a small laugh out of N.

“Besides… if she didn’t love you, why would you guys have talked about your wedding plans during dinner with her parents? You told me how about excited you both were about it, and how much she lit up. If that’s someone who didn’t love you, or wanna get married to you, then I don’t think she’d light up the way she did and does when she’s with you.”

She took a step forward, reaching a hand out for N to take. He looked at it for a moment before smiling and taking it, resting his hat back on his head. “You’re right V. I guess I’m just nervous about whatever she has to say. She seems very serious about it.” He scratched the back of his head with a nervous laugh, before pulling her in for a hug. V didn’t like hugs that much, but she tolerated it this time.

“You’re sure she’s not dying, right?” He half whispered in her ear. “I promise.” She replied, giving him a brief pat on the back and having him release her. “Someone’s dying?” A familiar voice came from behind them, and they both turned to look at Uzi, who had just landed. Her hands were shoved in her hoodie pockets as she hid away her wings.

“UZI!” N beamed, running over to her and hugging her, giving her a couple of twirls as he did. The two of them laughed as he set her back down, holding her waist while she hugged him around his neck. “I am so happy to see you right now! Why- What are you doing here?”

Uzi looked up at him, tears briefly in her eyes. She took a deep inhale, wiping them away and looking up at him, a little more determined. “N. I need to tell you something. Something… I should have told you a long time ago.” V took that as her cue to leave and spreading her wings and flying away, leaving the two in silence yet for a moment.

N looked at her puzzled, watching her now trembling hand reach back into her hoodie pocket, and slowly pull out a small device. She looked at it for a moment before showing the front of it to him. Two thick dark lines on the front of what looked like a screen for it. He was still utterly baffled by it. “I… don’t get it.” He admitted awkwardly. Uzi stared at him. “N… I…” She didn’t know how to say it. Just two to four simple words. That easy! Why was it so easy to talk to V about but not her OWN FIANCÉ?

She looked to the ground flustered. She hasn’t felt like this for bit. “Wait! I have an idea!” N pulled away from Uzi and reached into his jacket, pulling out a notepad and pen. “Ignore all the notes and stuff in the front of it. I makes lists of things we need at home, or for the ship, or I get bored and doodle when I’m out! If you wanna try just writing it down, go for it!” He smiled, holding it out towards Uzi. She slowly took it and flipped to a page further back, her hands still trembling.

Her thoughts raced. Then, she got an idea. She started to scribble something down before clicking the pen and turning the notepad back towards N. He looked it over for a moment and read it aloud. “1 Line = Negitive… 2 Lines =… Positive…?”

If he didn’t get it she was gonna punch something. To be fair, she wasn’t the most specific with it, but it seemed simple enough.

“Are you… having problems with some kinda magnets?” He shot her a nervous smile.

She’s gonna kill him.

“OH. MY. GOD.” A loud groan came from above them towards the top of the airship, and the two looked up to see V sitting there, watching this all unfold. “N, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but CONNECT THE DAMN DOTS. WHAT HAVE WE TALKED ABOUT TODAY BEFORE SHE EVEN CAME?” Her claws slightly scratched the metal outer part of the ship, making a semi-loud screeching sound.

Uzi looked back to N, who now looked to be deep in thought. She then looked back to V with a confused expression, to which V merely shrugged. “Wait… WAIT…” Uzi looked back to N. “Are you saying… what I think you’re saying?” He asked, almost at a loss of breath. “Depends… what are you thinking?” Uzi questioned back. “Are you… Are We…?” He paused. Now even HE didn’t know what to say, which highly amused V.

“Yeah…?”

“Are we… gonna be parents?” Uzi paused again and looked at the ground before looking back up at him.

“Yeah. Yeah we are.”

Chapter 6: Discussions of the Fittest

Notes:

Love how I said, in the very first chapter, that there would probably be slow updates, and I’ve already put out 6 chapters (counting this one) somehow inside 48 hours, and I wrote most of this one on a dying phone battery at work- WHERE AND HOW TF AM I DOING THIS???

Chapter Text

There was a massively thick silence between them.

So silent that if you dropped a feather onto the snow, it’d be the loudest sound there.

“Are… You Serious…?” Asked the taller of the two, looking down at his partner with wide eyes.

Uzi looked to the ground. “Y-Yeah…”

Another moment of silence.

Uzi thought if this silence got any heavier, she’d start crying. She didn’t want to.

She really didn’t want to.

“We… WE’RE GONNA BE PARENTS!” N suddenly cheered, startling Uzi out of her thoughts. He then grabbed her in another hug, excitedly bouncing on the tips of his feet. “Y-Yeah…! Yeah! WE’RE GONNA BE FRIGGIN PARENTS!” Uzi beamed. She doesn’t think she’s beamed about this at all until just now.

N paused, quickly releasing Uzi. “Hold on- is this what you were talking about the other night? When you didn’t know how to bring it up?” Uzi nodded. “I’ve actually been trying to figure out how to tell you for just over a month now… You… You don’t hate me for that, do you…?”

N blinked at her. “What? Why would I hate you? I can only imagine how nervous you must have been! I would have been myself! AND I CAN’T EVEN DO WHAT YOU’RE DOING!” The two laughed a bit, only making Uzi feel more relaxed about everything that had just happened.

V came down from the top of the airship, a smile once again decorating her face. A rare sight to some. “FINALLY. I was afraid I was gonna have to take drastic measures.” She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes, keeping her smile. “What does that supposed mean?” Uzi asked, now glaring at her other roommate.

“Nah. I’ll save it for when you have another kid.” Uzi flustered. “H-HEY!” She snapped. N grabbed her arm lightly just in case she tried lunging at the sassy drone in front of them.

Uzi’s mind suddenly blinked. She completely forgot about the part where she’ll have to tell her parents. It’d be basically impossible to hide it from them anyway. All of those thoughts came whirling back to her, almost making her sick where she stood. “Hey, Uzi, you okay?” N asked, noticing her sudden change.

“…I have no idea how we’re gonna tell my parents.” She slowly replied. She could feel her knees wobble, hands start to tremble again, and she felt a small wave of panic go through her. N scooped her up in his arms, trying to be as helpful as he could, while also making sure she didn’t collapse.

“Hey, don’t worry. We got this. It’ll be easy breezy! I mean, if it helps, you’re TECHNICALLY an adult! You can do whatever you want, whenever you want!” N smiled warmly at her. “N, my parents scared you into thinking cats were going to come down and blow up planet of the dogs if you proposed to me.” She remarked, slight anger dripping in her tone.

“Okay yeah you have a point.” V looked at the two of them before signing. “Hey, how about this. Why don’t you two go home for awhile, talk this over some more, and figure all… that stuff out, before you worry about the next thing. It’s obvious you have things to talk about.”

Uzi hated to admit it, but V was right. AGAIN. They probably both have a lot of questions to ask each other about this, and concerns they’ll both have to address. “But what about the airship?” Uzi asked anyway, just in case they were somehow getting closer. If she was being honest, she still had no idea why they were even fixing it in the first place.

“Don’t worry about it. We were finishing up for the day anyway.” V tossed the wrench from earlier behind her, and shrugged. “I’m gonna go bother Liz. Don’t expect me back for dinner.” She took a few steps away before soaring off into the sky, soon becoming out of sight.

“Shall we then?” N asked, Uzi immediately nodding. “Yeah. Let’s go home.”

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

They talked for over two hours about this.

They talked about gender.

They talked about names.

They talked about if they would like more of a worker drone, or a disassembly drone.

They talked about if they would possibly carry the power of the solver, like how Uzi carried the power down from her own Mother, AND the fact that Uzi was now in total power of the solver herself after beating Cyn.

The last two really made them wonder. And they wondered if it was truly something to worry about.

“What if they’re like… a mix of both? A Disassembly Worker Drone? Kinda like you, but maybe more features similar to I and or V?” He guessed.

“Well, it is OUR kid, so, I mean, anything goes I guess.” Uzi shrugged, leaning back on the couch they sat on.

“V and I both noticed you struggling with the uh… vomit situation… It isn’t overly affecting you, is it?” N gave her a worried glance, now fidgeting with the collar of his jacket. “Nah. It’s actually calmed down a lot more compared to when this all started. Like, yeah, I can’t eat or smell certain things because it might set me off, but otherwise, again, it’s getting a lot better.” She smiled.

N let out a sigh of relief to that, leaning back on the couch himself. “Annnnd how have you kept this from Cyn?” He asked. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure. Dumb luck I guess. Still can’t tell her for now though. Don’t want her somehow blabbing to my parents before we do.” N nodded. That was a topic that was gonna be a massive challenge in itself.

“Should we… talk about that now, or maybe after dinner? I-it’s your parents after all! Whenever you wanna do it is fine with me!” N suggested.

Uzi thought about it for before deciding on food, letting her hunger speak for her. “Food now. Complicated subjects later.” She more so grumbled it then anything, but N heard her and quickly stood up, giving her a salute. “I’m on it!” He grinned as he went towards the kitchen behind them, Uzi turning over in her seat as she watched him walk.

For the first time in what felt like a long time, this is the most relaxed she’s felt in a long time.

And she couldn’t be happier.

Notes:

Welp. That happened. 6 Chapters in and god knows what else to come. Let’s wait and see, shall we?

Chapter Text

“Uzi, you and N have come up with like, seventeen different plans to talk to your parents, how are none of them good enough to your liking?” V asked, leaning back against the kitchen counter, arms crossed as she looked at the pacing purple haired drone.

It’d been about two months at this point since she told N, making it the end of May. Two months before they sealed her vows with N, and two to three months before she was due.

And she was taking it scarily well in front of N. Problem solving, taking and making suggestions, and doing extremely well.

But in front of V, she was very much not okay. Now for example, as she paced in front of a giant rolling whiteboard she had displayed in front of her roommate, covered in various drawings, curses, and scribbles of ideas for a plan to talk to her parents.

As for where N was at the moment, he was out grabbing some items V left at the airship a few days before, accompanied by Thad. Which left the girls alone to discuss.

“And so I like what N suggested in plan Fourteen Version B, but I ALSO like this part he mentioned HERE in plan Three! And I already scrapped plans Six, Nine Version C, and Sixteen. So technically, V, we have twenty four different plan ideas remaining.” Bright red yarn was tangled around Uzi’s arms and hands, as well as around magnet tacks holding up paper connected to the board. V almost thought she’d be a partially paranoid theorist.

V looked at the board, then to Uzi, then back to the board. She hadn’t done a ton of planning like this in her life, but she could listen to her and N’s rambling without a problem and be as sarcastic as she wanted without much care from anyone. But this time, she was truly trying to think, for the sake of her friends and their sanities (and also some of her own sanity if she had to keep listening to this as much as she was).

“How about you try-”

“WAIT! I forgot plan twenty seven B! How could I forget that one?” Uzi quickly used her solver and scribbled it down on a piece of paper she had on the counter, shoving it on a remaining very small open space on the whiteboard.

V would never admit it, but she was suddenly kinda worried. More so for the fact of how much more terrified Uzi was to tell her parents she was expecting than she ever was trying to tell N.

“Why is that?” She asked. Uzi looked at her, puzzled. “Why is that what?”

“Okay, you were absolutely mortified to tell N about you two becoming parents, but now, that’s solved and it’s fine, but now, you seem even more afraid and almost paranoid about telling Khan and Nori, DESPITE THE FACT YOU’RE AN ADULT DRONE AND NOT EVEN LIVING WITH THEM ANYMORE!” V raised her voice, almost seeing Uzi shrink a bit where she stood. She didn’t mean to raise her voice as loud as she did, but this was almost bothering her too much.

“V, after Mom vanished, other than school, I was basically stuck in and at home most of my life. I didn’t really have any friends. And yeah, I snuck out and did stuff. Like make my still super sick as hell railgun, for example. To a certain degree, I feel like, in a way, I, still under my parents, at least my Dad’s brief control for stuff. And as for Mom… you know how she feels about Disassembly Drones. Especially after the whole Cyn thing back before us…” She brushed off the yarn from her arms and hands, watching it fall to the floor. “If they found out about, well, any of this… I’m as good as dead.”

V knew a bit about what that had been like when she lived and worked for the Elliot’s in what N liked to call ‘The Creepy Haunted Mansion’. God forbid if she, or any of the other drones took a single step out of line at any given moment. Tessa didn’t care, but her parents, however, were extremely evil in her eyes. Even going as far as locking their own daughter away in her room for special events.

She didn’t really know how to reply to Uzi in that moment, only for that fact alone.

A silence fell over both of them again. “So… Do you maybe have any ideas to add to board…?” She gestures to it, an awkward smile now rising to her face, trying to break any newfound tension.

There wasn’t a single speck left of room on the board. Even if she could add it, there probably wasn’t something that wasn’t already added.

She stepped forward, focusing on the details of all the different ideas. Some had similarities, some looked like an abstract circus tent of chaotic words strung together.

V shook her head, flipping the board over, startling Uzi back a couple steps. “None of these will do. What you need to do is something a liiittle bit different. And that also won’t involve two hundred steps from a dozen or more different plans, otherwise your new destination will be disaster.” Uzi stared at her baffled. “Okay…? Fine, what do you suggest then?”

V grabbed the pen Uzi used earlier, pulling off the cap with her teeth and spatting it out to the side. “Its gonna be called: ‘Plan Kick Ass’, and it’s gonna truly kick some.”

Notes:

I have a stroke with timelines, but for quick clarification, Uzi is in fact due in July-August.

What could POSSIBLY happen? ;)

Chapter Text

Closer to the Five Month mark, if it wasn’t already there.

Uzi almost dreaded it.

The dread mostly came from needing to tell her parents about her pregnancy, but also because her and N’s wedding was going to be in the next month, and they were still trying to figure out final things.

Invites? Done.

Cake? Taken care of.

Outfits? Semi-goth but definitely to Uzi’s liking (N had actually suggested it, and was thrilled about it).

N’s Bachelor Party was gonna be Tomorrow, and Thad was gonna be helping with that, so they were all fine there.

Things seemed to be fine for the most part it. V had helped her come up with a plan to talk to her parents soon. It looks perfect. There was nothing else that seemed too concerning right now.

Well, other than having to hide a bit more often from others except for N and V. If anyone else found out about her condition, they’d most likely squeal to her parents, which is the one thing she definitely didn’t want right now.

Well, she had in fact finally told Cyn about it, with help from N. She was fairly happy about it, a little baffled at first when they were trying to explain it, but happy nonetheless. N had also made her promise to not tell ANYONE until they say she can talk about it. One less someone to be quiet with it about wasn’t terrible to Uzi’s mind.

So for tonight, for the first time in a few weeks, the normal trio was finally taking some time to be at home, a night to themselves to watch a terrible yet funny movie, and just remember what it was like to relax for a bit.

Taking their minds off the planning, and everything else for at least a little while was nice.

Uzi laid in N’s lap, while V once again sat in the chair a little ways away from them. V would glance over at the two cuddlers fondly before going back to texting (probably Lizzy) and watching the movie.

She looked up at N a few times, seeing him relaxed and happy, not a care behind his bright yellow eyes. She was glad this was just a relaxing normal night. Tomorrow would hopefully be just the same. Right?

And shortly after that, Uzi fell into a deep sleep.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Uzi awoke in her and N’s room alone. It felt weird. She got up, already dressed, and walked around the empty apartment. “Hello…?” She called out. The whole place was empty other than for her being the exception. What was happening? She knew N had his party today, but he wouldn’t have left this early, and V should have at least been here.

She made her way into to the kitchen, trying to shake the slightly creepy feeling she was now getting. Maybe eating something would help? She opened the fridge, only to see nothing inside. “That’s… odd.” She muttered, now shutting the door of it, only to now be face to face with her Father. “SWEET ROBO JESUS- DAD WHAT THE HELL?” She yelped.

“Uzi, why are you having a kid with that murderous drone fellow? We ALL know that’s a bad idea!” He gestured to her, making her take a step back. “What…?” Uzi’s voice now small. As he took steps towards her, she continued to back up. “Come on now Uzi, you should know better! First marriage, then a kid… AND TO A MURDER DRONE that could easily snap at any point and kill you! Let alone for that possible kid of his to also become like that! What are you thinking?”

Uzi’s heart was beating what felt like a thousand miles an hour, her breathing quickened as her panic grew, and now she was back against a wall, no way to escape. “Uzi Doorman! I was technically KILLED by a Murder Drone, and now you’re gonna have a BABY with one? Do you have no respect for any of this?” Her Mother now stood atop her father’s helmet hat, staring down at her with her spotlight like eye.

“Please… please just leave me alone…” She slowly slid down the wall, head in her hands as she could feel her parents getting closer to her, tears starting to fall. “Oh I don’t think so young lady!” He father reached down, picking her up by the neck, holding her high against the wall. “You’ve made a terrible mistake not taking care of this, or those other drones sooner so now, you’re gonna see what’ll happen if you don’t… Nori?” Uzi had a death grip on her fathers hand around her neck, trying to get him to let go though quiet sobs.

Nori used her solver and grabbed a pickaxe from no where, holding to close to Uzi’s chest. “Uzi, we really had faith in you to not go down this path. And yet, here you are. In one of the worst possible moments of your life, and not even really ready for any of this. We thought you were better than that.” Her mother said, now pulling the pickaxe back a little bit before launching into directly into Uzi’s chest.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Uzi awoke with a scream, quickly sitting up in bed and kicking all the blankets off her. N quickly woke up next to her, also sitting up with his blade ready. When he saw nothing was there, he quickly retracted it. “Uzi! What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Uzi’s rapid breathing started to slow as wiped her face and looked at the clock.

‘3:37AM’. As she stared at it, she couldn’t help but let out another sob before it turned into full on crying.

N reached for her, slowly and carefully getting his arms around her, and holding her close. “Uzi… what’s going on?” He asked in a hushed tone. Uzi didn’t know once again how to talk in that moment.

“Is-Is it okay to be this afraid…?” She asked between sobs. N thought about her question for a moment before responding. “It depends on what you’re afraid of, I guess? Like- Spiders, despite the fact that they’re all dead, freak me out. And if they were alive, I’d definitely fear them!” He chuckled a bit at the last part. “But… I guess you’ll have to be more specific.”

Uzi, after getting control of herself, sighed. “Yeah… yeah you’re right… lemme explain…”

Notes:

Uzi needs some serious help, doesn’t she?

(ALSO APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY IN CHAPTERS- I WAS HAVING WRITERS BLOCK, AND IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY ON THE FIRST OF THE MONTH, AND AO3 WENT DOWN THE OTHER DAY AND DELETED ALL MY WORK FOR THIS CHAPTER, SO I WAS BUSY LMAO)

Chapter 9: Better than Truth

Notes:

Okay I was actually gonna write a chapter for N’s bachelor party, but something changed in my head and I lost the original draft of it, so uh… Just know it was awesome. (Lmao I am so sorry- I’ll try to make up for it-) ALSO this is a bit of a short chapter, unfortunately. I’ll try making Chapter 10 longer. Keyword ‘Try’. In the meantime… here’s this probable disaster.

Chapter Text

It was the week after the nightmare Uzi had, making her almost afraid to fall asleep and experience it all over again.

It was the week after explaining to N and V the nightmare she had, making her even more afraid to talk to the two people who killed her within the dream.

It was another week closer to the wedding, and actually having the baby.

The quicker time went, the quicker Uzi’s mind raced. She was now beyond terrified.

But now, it was a Saturday. A day that Uzi and N were going to have her parents over, and tell them everything.

Uzi already desperately wished the day was over, and she could lay down. She could barely sit at all that day. Mostly out of being antsy, nervous, trying not to overthink… the only thing she was doing good at right now however, was not throwing up again.

She hasn’t done that in awhile, but she just might if things somehow go sour.

V had told her and N the plan of taking to them without hopefully too many problems, and N thought it was a pretty good plan!

Uzi, however, probably would have felt better if she wasn’t even there or going through with this.

It was already that night, and Uzi once again stood looking at herself in the mirror. She felt like she could have picked literally anything from the closet, and still felt uncomfortable in it.

“Hey Dinner Buddy! How ya feeling?” N, who was happy somehow as always, walked in, a smile spread across his face. “Like I wanna crawl back into bed and die.” Uzi replied, turning away from her reflection and trying not to death glare him.

That day in general anyway, she felt especially under the weather, but mostly passed it off as nerves. It’s not like this was unnormal for her anyway, but something just felt… off.

“You know… I think you look especially good today. Like, you just have this kinda glow to you!” He kept his smile as he said it, hoping to maybe lighten her mood a bit.

Uzi scoffed. “Yeah, it’s because my stupid parents are gonna absolutely murder me for “Making Dumb Decisions” and etc etc…” N shook his head. “No, I just mean in general lately outside of that. When you first told me, you seemed so much… happier. Relaxed for that matter!”

Uzi felt anything but ‘relaxed’.

“I… guess… I’m not sure- What if-” N immediately stepped forward and grabbed her in a hug. “Uzi, don’t try to overthink this. If things go bad, I’ll be here for you. I’ll always be here, and no one is gonna change that.”

Uzi fell silent. How did she get so… lucky? A loving Boyfriend/Fiancé, an actually pretty cool roommate and friend, and soon to be a small addition to their small yet spacious home.

N was right. She didn’t need to think about the what ifs, the alternate ideas, any of that. What happens happens, and she has to be straight forward with it. She can’t exactly hide it forever.

Just then there was a knock at the door, making them both look over past the hallway.

“Are you ready?” He asked. As much as Uzi wanted to say no, she nodded anyway, taking N’s hand as they walked to the door. Every part of her body seemed to feel stiff as she walked. She had such a strange feeling about this, but somehow, she couldn’t place it on one thing exactly.

They opened the door, being once again met with Khan and Nori Doorman. And in that moment, Uzi hated just about everything inside and out, with new insane feeling of throwing up like she never had before.

“Hey guys! Welcome back to our lovely abode!” N beamed. How he was so happy about any of this was still beyond anyone’s comprehension at this point. “Ah- Hello you two! Thank you for once again inviting us to a dinner! N, I know you’re a fantastic cook for some strange reason!” Khan laughed a bit when saying that, obviously seeming awkward about being there. “Oh god it’s gonna be a night…” Nori rolled her eye with a sigh. “You said it…” Uzi mumbled to herself as her and N moved out of the way for them to come in.

Uzi barely ate anything. She felt so sick at the time, she didn’t think she could keep it down. For some reason, despite the semi relaxed environment, it only continued to worsen. That was odd, but she didn’t question it too much for obvious reasons. She mostly pushed the food around the plate silently, once again wishing the night was over and she could crawl back into bed.

“So, N had shared that you both had wanted to share some big news with us! Care to share?” Khan asked, eyeing Uzi across the table. She dropped her fork, it made a loud clanking sound as it hit the plate. “O-Oh! Uh… so… We- N and I, that is, um… we were- ARE! Are…” Uzi didn’t know how to continue, and now, she felt a pressure like pain in her stomach.

Oh God. That’s not good.

“Uzi, are you feeling okay? You don’t look so good right now.” Nori stated, looking at her up and down. N turned to Uzi next to him, looking at her slowly starting to panic, before taking her hand in his. “Oh she’s most likely fine! It’s Uzi! She’s just moody, just like I remember!” Khan nudged Nori, making her smack his arm away with a groan. “Uzi…?” N asked in a low voice. She slowly looked up at him, completely at a loss for words.

“…I think it’s happening?” She whispered back, her grip on his hand tightening a bit.

N looked at her baffled for a moment before instantly understanding the sudden possible gravity of the situation, now both of them slowly looking back to her truly confused parents.

“Uzi, N, what’s going on?” Nori asked, a little more sternness in her voice. “You both now look like you’ve seen ghosts, and not in a good way.”

Uzi suddenly felt another twinge of pain, as she now death gripped N’s hand. “Mom, Dad…” She started with a strained voice. “…We’re gonna be having a baby, and I think that time is gonna be sooner than we want it to be.”

Notes:

…Welp. Here we go. Only took 9 Chapters to tell them. Nice job guys.

Chapter 10: The Welcoming

Notes:

May have gotten a small cold, so to pass the time as I lay in bed from my day off work, I write this. Gonna be possibly finishing this fic soon, but we’ll have to see what happens. Hell, maybe I’ll finish it in 2027 or something. Who knows. In the meantime however, let’s see how these dorks are holding up.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

N paced around the drone hospital waiting room.

He had never been so nervous in his life.

It had been four hours since they had gotten there.

Uzi’s parents sat in a couple chairs pressed up against the wall, talking to themselves in hushed tones, looking over to N once in a while.

N had quickly rushed Uzi over here almost the moment she said that she was most likely going into labor, much to her parent’s shock.

He didn’t care what they may or may not have thought right now however. His full focus right now was on Uzi.

“N? A word with you?” Khan stood up from his seat, making N stop in his tracks and look over at the mustached drone. “Why didn’t you guys tell us sooner?” He asked. N was trying to think of a way to respond to this. He couldn’t exactly just say they were ‘Untrustworthy’, but that’s what Uzi thought of them to a certain degree, at least when it came to this.

So he told the truth.

“I’m kinda tired of this- Look. Uzi was so… so scared to even mention it to you because, well, look how you guys both reacted to us the announcement of us being engaged! She thought you were gonna combust where you stood! So the fear she carried for so freaking long about you guys losing your lids, was carried up until this moment! And she never knew how to bring it up before for that same reason!” Nori and Khan stared at N for a moment before he continued. “I know what you might be thinking right now. That she’s irresponsible, that she’s a bad daughter, or some third thing! But that’s not the case. She’s an incredibly smart and bold drone. And one of the coolest ones I’ve ever met, and that I’m glad to call my best friend and partner. And I’m not gonna let you hurt her, or bother us if that’s your intention from here on out.”

The two continued to stared at him. He didn’t know what else to say, he thinks he said it pretty well already. Nori was then about to say something before a nurse worker drone came out from a couple of side doors, looking at the only three there. “Which one of you is… N Elliot?” N quickly spun around to face the nurse. “Oh! T-That’s me!” He raised his hand up a bit, taking a step towards her. “Ah, good. You’re going to have to come with me then.” She gestured towards the doors she came through and they started walking over. “Wait! What about us?” Khan asked. “Dude, if they want us, they’ll ask for us. Let’s leave em for now.” Nori put a claw-like hand on Khan’s arm, holding him back with what little strength she had.

N looked over his shoulder at the two one last time before fully walked through the duo swinging doors. “How… How’s Uzi?” He asked, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets as they walked. “She’s fine. She and your Daughter both.”

N’s eyes widened. Oh my god. He had a Daughter.

“What…?” He asked breathlessly. “Yes. Congratulations Mr. Elliot, you and Uzi Doorman are now parents of a little girl. God help you both.” The nurse said casually, looking down at her clipboard and writing something down. “Anyway, this is your Fiancés room, so… I’ll be back in a little while to finalize some stuff.” She started walking away already as she said it. “Thank you!” N smiled and waved to her for a second before looking back at the room door and slowly opening it, being met with Uzi in bed, and a tiny wrapped drone in her arms.

She looked up at N, a tired yet happy smile on her face. N was extremely tense, but slowly relaxed as he stepped closer to the two.

“Hey Buddy.” He said, barely above a whisper.

“Hey.” She replied.

“And this… this one’s ours? Like, Really ours?” He asked, jokingly.

Uzi let out a snicker. “Yep. All ours. A little girl, just for us.” She smiled brightly, tears now in both her and N’s eyes.

“She’s… Shes- Wow. She’s absolutely perfect.” N sniffed. Uzi then slowly gestured for him to possibly take her, he wasn’t sure for a moment before he took another step forward, slowly taking the tiny sleeping drone in his arms. “She’s so small… Just like another drone I know.” He whispered, giving Uzi a smirk.

“Hey, I just had a kid. Don’t just at me like that.” She rolled her eyes, a smirk now on her face as well.

The two laughed softly for a moment, before N met his eyes with hers.

“Now… the real question…” N started, making Uzi tilt her head in confusion. “What do we name her?”

The two had briefly talked and thought about names before, but not a ton. They’d been so busy wedding planning, figuring out a plan to talk to Khan and Nori, and other various things to even have a real sit down discussion about names for a baby they didn’t even know the gender of yet.

“Well, what did we have?” Uzi asked, trying to think back a bit.

N tried thinking as well. She was right. It HAD been awhile since they really talked about it.

“How about Narcissa?” He asked. Uzi looked at him confused. “Doesn’t that sound a little like ‘Narcissist’?” She asked.

“Fair, but hear me out, it actually means Daffodil! Which was a type of beautiful earth flower! They’re strong, beautiful, and apparently also symbolize hope! A-And they reminded me of both of you, maybe.” He said the last part a little more sheepishly, but kept his smile nonetheless.

“Hm… alright then. Does ‘Narcissa Lenore Elliot-Doorman’ have a nice ring to it? And before you question it, I don’t know- I liked the middle name Lenore- Bite me.” Uzi huffed a bit.

“Actually, that’s perfect and unique, just like her.” The two couldn’t help but smile looking at their daughter.

“How are my uh… Parents after all this…?” Uzi then asked slowly. N explained to her what had happened in the waiting room the past few hours, some parts a little more awkward than others. Uzi sighed, leaning back in bed. “And you said they’re still out there…?” N nodded, then handing the baby back to her.

“Someone should probably tell them to leave… One, it’s like, what? After 1:00 in the morning or something? And Two, we’re both gonna be here for a while yet, obviously, so why should they just wait there for several more hours etc etc.” This was probably the most thought Uzi had put into her parents in the past six hours. But she really didn’t care. She was tired and wouldn’t mind getting more sleep.

“I could go out and talk to them if you want. I need to contact V anyway. We did leave in kind of a hurry earlier after all.” N replied, looking at his tired fiancé and sleeping daughter.

“That would be great.” She smiled tiredly at him again. He gave her a quick salute and a forehead kiss, now starting to walk towards the door when she spoke up one more time. “Oh, and N?” He turned back to her, a curious expression on his face.

“I think you’re gonna be the best Dad ever.”

Tears laced his eyes as he smiled once more, quickly rubbing them away. “And I think you’re gonna be the best Mom ever.” He replied, walking out of her room, quietly closing the door behind him.

Notes:

Were you guys surprised? I know I was. (Also btw- I actually came up with the original design for a more grown up teenage Narcissa about a month ago and put it on my Insta recently. So if anyone here looks at Murder Drones fan stuff on IG and may have seen that, that was in fact me.)

Chapter 11: A New Ponderance

Notes:

OH MY GOD IT’S BEEN AWHILE- HEY GUYS.
So lemme explain myself really quick- After I updated last in, oh god, Early September, a LOT of things were happening, aka, I and my partner were moving, and this is the first chance in a hot second I’ve had to breath and deeply think about this fanfic again.
BUT…! FRET NOT! If I somehow DID get any ideas for the fic while I was away, I made sure to write them down, and now I’ll present them to you semi wrapped with a poorly tied bow (I’m not good at wrapping stuff- you don’t wanna know what happened last Christmas).
So, in the meantime, I hope you enjoy whatever the hell I'm still writing here, and we’ll see what happens.
Also, yes, there is a time jump because I’m a zesty bitch and that’s how I write now ig. God help this community.

Chapter Text

It had been over a month and a half since Uzi and N brought home their new daughter Narcissa.

It had been over a month and a half since N slightly told off Uzi’s parents in the hospital waiting room, and had barely (actually not at all) said any word to them since.

When he had gone back after first meeting his and Uzi’s daughter, they had just left the place. Nothing said to them, they just left without warning.

Uzi felt a little hurt, but she didn’t let it show. She was used to this. This was a normal feeling. She told herself that more than ever as of lately.

She just wished it had gotten better, even after all this time of no contact whatsoever.

V was enjoying her time out more, more so the duo could enjoy time with their new little one, but also so she didn’t have to help very much, not that she minded when she had to help.

She actually kinda liked little Narcissa, even though she would never tell anyone that out loud besides MAYBE N.

She’d been spending most of her more newfound free time continuing to work on the ship on her own, plotting and planning. Before Uzi became pregnant, her and N had been privately discussing a short mission for them. One to travel and go out on trips to see other parts of the universe, or what was left of it since the Solver destroyed earth among other possible planets.

Plus, N was the only pilot in any kind of distance, which means he’d have to be there. The only wrench tossed in her plans, however, was the birth of his daughter, which she, once again, didn’t mind, but something told her that asking for him to leave his kid and his wife behind, even for a short time, would be so very wrong on her part.

“Ew. Internal Empathy.” V sighed, leaning on the kitchen counter as a she cracked open a drink. Uzi looked at her, baffled. “Whaaaat are you talking about?” She tilted her head as she asked. V hadn’t noticed she’d said that out loud, so she quickly straightened her posture and squeezed the drink can in her hand, now facing the shorter purple haired drone. “Oh, clearly I was thinking about how much N talks about some random dog planet out in the cosmos or something like- ew. Why do you care so much about dogs that most likely can’t live on this world because of how cold it is? Leave ‘em alone or something.” She quickly finished her drink, crushing the can and tossing it away, now crossing her arms.

Uzi blinked for a moment, raising her hand about to say something, when Narcissa started crying from the next room over. “God, does this kid ever stop crying?” She sighed, passing V and going over to her little one. “I mean, it’s better than the first week.” V snickered, narrowing her eyes. “I legitimately thought you were gonna have a massive breakdown.” Uzi picked up Narcissa, cradling her close, getting her to calm down near instantly. “If N hadn’t been there, I don’t know what I would have done. Probably that if I’m being 100% honest. He… He’s everything and so much more when it comes to being a Dad. Especially to this one.” She smiled down at Narcissa, then looking back at the smirk and raised eyebrow on V’s face. “Not that I’d ever tell him that to his face or anything- God- That’s super sappy or something- shut up.” Narcissa giggled, making Uzi smile back at her again, carefully setting her back down onto a playmat on the living room floor.

V scoffed, then looking around. “Where IS N, anyway?” She asked. “Passed out in our room. He get up a lot of nights to take care of her, so at this point, we have these separate day and night shifts. I’ve offered to switch but he refused the offer several times.” Uzi shrugged. “Do you need to talk to him about something?” V shrugged this time. “It’s nothing super important. Still just… working on the ship and needed some of his input on some things. Only he would really know the answer to this, sorry.”

Uzi nodded in understanding. “That’s fair. I know he really wants to get back out there and help you out more. And I totally think he should! Though I get him also really wanting to do that “Shared Parenting” stuff. It’s so our kid grows up normally, I guess? It’s definitely better than what happened with my family, so I don’t blame him for wanting what he’d like in that regard. She looked back to Narcissa, now sound asleep. V looked to her, then back to Uzi. Was that a look of… Pity? Ever so slight Resentment? V couldn’t tell for sure before Uzi turned back to her with a totally relaxed expression.

“Anyway… I’m gonna start on some kinda dinner. You joining this time, or are you gonna head back to work? I know you’ve been pretty persistent on it still.” V stared at her for a moment before responding, trying to not think about Uzi’s previous facial expressions, as well as trying to talk to N about the possible future in their travels. “I uh… I’m gonna head out. I think that’s for the best here. Don’t bother saving anything for me, I’ll fix myself something whenever I get back.” Uzi nodded. “Your loss, Tech Nerd.” The two shot each other finger guns jokingly before V made her way to the door, giving a quick goodbye wave and leaving.

V stood outside the apartment door for a long moment, looking up to the sky silently, several thoughts running through her head in that moment, but one main one screaming louder than the others.

What was she going to do now?

Notes:

Yes, I know, short chapter, but it’s been a bit. Also, I’ma be honest again rq and say I’m not ENTIRELY sure how to end it? But I am gonna end it probably by or before we get to 20 Chapters. Guess we’ll have to see lmao. And thank you all SO SO MUCH for sticking around this long to see how this hopefully wraps up. My Wife is making sure I finish this (I promised her I would), and I intend to, I again however, just don’t know how to yet. We’ll figure it out when we get there.

Chapter 12: Change is Hard, Huh?

Notes:

Hey guys- I know it’s been a little more than a couple months… but I promise I have a good excuse:

1. As mentioned much earlier- I moved once, and that’s been going well and it’s nice to be in one spot with someone I love.
2. I quit my old retail job and now work in Videogames. That was a whole 2-3 month mess.
3. My Wife and I got another Cat who keeps us on our feet pretty regularly (he’s a strawberry blonde (orange) moron btw).
4. I FINALLY STARTED GOING TO THERAPY!!! HOLY CRAP IT’S SO NICE!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
And 5. Writers Block, but I never forgot you guys, who have probably been waiting for this update since I left you the last time.

I’m gonna be real and say, I still have some writers block, and I proooobably always will. BUT. I’m going to consistently try to update this and I made a promise that I would finish this.

We gotta see how this story ends after all, right? Now let’s get into it, and also, thank you for sticking with this story all this time. It means a lot to me. <3

Chapter Text

Just over a week had passed since V and Uzi chatted. She couldn’t stop thinking about possibly asking N to travel with her. Yet, she wanted something more. Craved it, even. She stared up at the ceiling from her spot on the couch, lying back and vaguely watching the spawn of her friends.

She had gotten tasked with this when Uzi needed to go out and get groceries, and N decided to tag along. She had nothing better to do with her day off anyway.

She looked over to see Narcissa, laying fast asleep on the floor. She didn’t really have many strong feelings about her, even though she hated admitting that to herself. She’s just the infant spawn of two of your best friends. Just because you’ve been appointed “adopted aunt” meant nothing… right?

V shook her head, still in thought as she turned on her phone, starting to scroll through various posts online.

Her phone chimed with a notification. Sliding it open revealed it being a text from Lizzy.

“Hey Loser. U talk to N&U about leaving the hellscape or wtvr yet?”

V stared at it for a moment before narrowing her eyes a bit in contemplation of what to say. She trusted Lizzy with practically anything and everything. She saw her as someone she could relate to.

Someone she could trust.

That’s when she got an idea.

She started typing.

“Kind of??? Haven’t rlly talked 2 N abt it since b4 Uzi had the kid. Dunno if I evn should atm. Still thinking it ovr tho.”

It wasn’t long before Lizzy started typing back.

“U got good ideas babe. U do u. I’d go with u tbh. It’s boring here without u.”

V blushed slightly at the last message, then shaking her head and closing her phone, looking back at the ceiling.
She knew what she had to do.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

“You’re WHAT?!” Uzi and N both gasped in unison.

“Yep. I’m leaving Copper 9, and I’m taking Lizzy with me as company and help if needed.” V said proudly, standing in front of the duo in the living room.

“But- But do you even know how to fly that thing? It took me months to-!” N got interrupted by V, who stopped him quickly.

“Relax… I was with you long enough to find out how in Robo-Jesus’ name to figure out how to fly a simple spaceship.” She replied with a small eye roll.

The duo looked at each other with a slightly concerned expression then back to V.

“Hey, don’t worry! I’ll still come back and visit! Besides, I’m not leaving until after your wedding, so we’ll have plenty of time to finish some unfinished business before I go off into the deep dark cold space, and- EH-“

Uzi lunged forward, grabbing V in a sudden and tight hug, N immediately following.

V never liked hugs.

In fact, she despised them.

But this one… felt nice. Like something she had felt like she needed for awhile.

She slowly picked up her arms, gently wrapping them around her friends. This felt so strange, yet so new.

So… good.

“We’re gonna miss you so much…” Uzi whispered, gave half buried in V’s jacket.

“I second that.” N sniffed, digital tears falling down his face.

After a moment yet of silence, she chuckled and pushed them away. “Alright alright… Enough the waterworks. We got some time before anything happens. Besides, you’re gonna need a cool aunt and babysitter to keep an eye on the small spawn at least until you finish the vows of your wedding.

They all chuckled a bit at that. It’s true- V was oddly good with handling kids, despite her murderous history. It could have been the time she spent in the Elliot Manor way back when that helped teach her some of what she knows now, but it’s hard to say.

“Well... We should really get something to eat. I’m starving. And after a conversation like that, I could almost start eating the furniture.” Uzi smiled.

V smirked. “You’re not pregnant again, are you?”

“God no! One kid is enough for now!” Uzi pushed the now laughing V, and N let out a snicker.

“Oh cmon, Uzi! You know Narcissa will need a friend at some point to play with!” N teased.

“Yeah, definitely, but not at this very second!” She laughed back, and the trio now walked into the kitchen.

Notes:

Annnnd onto the next…
I know this was short, but I’ll be working on this more as the weekend continues. I’m slowly typing more between my night job’s work breaks, and it’s oddly useful Lmao.

Chapter Text

Time passed.

Quite a bit of time, actually.

Since Uzi and N hadn’t heard from her parents since the hospital trip, they had little to no interest in reaching out.

Or so they thought.

N sat on the floor in front of the couch, tapping a pen against a paper held by a clipboard in his lap. It was a list of who to invite to their now “rescheduled to next week” wedding. Since Copper 9’s town was small, it’d be easy enough to casually walk around to hand out invites rather than try and just mail them.

That, and they didn’t have a postal service anyway, so that’d be pointless.

Uzi sat on the couch behind him with Narcissa laying on her lap, vaguely playing with her while also getting distracted by her as of recent racing thoughts.

“Sooooo, we already got most of whoever was left from your old school that you actually enjoyed their company of on the list… I got a bunch of the people that were fun to hang out with on my end too! Can you think of anyone we could be missing?”

“What are we gonna do about my parents?” She blurted out suddenly.

N paused from tapping his pen and turned to face Uzi. “Well… I mean… I don’t wanna be mean about this, but-”

“No- be mean.” She quickly shot back.

N paused for a moment, staring at her with concern.

“Uzi… What I mean is, out of all the strange things they’ve done to us, whether it be making us have our wedding on a specific date, or-”

“Or leaving us at the hospital alone after I literally just gave birth?” Uzi interrupted.

N let out a gentle sigh. “Yes, they did that, and I’m not happy with them either, but I’m have to be 100% honest when I say this.”

Uzi raised a brow.

“Your parents suck. Like- not in a way that I like- 100% hate them? But in- in a way that just ticks me off, sometimes even a little beyond that. If that makes sense I mean! I- I can rephrase it better if I have to!”

Uzi shook her head. “Nonono- I understand. I just… I’m not used to them being so… so weird about this, I guess? Like- I feel the same way you do, and I would LOVE to just cut them out of my life! But… they’re my parents, Dad raised me mostly and I haven’t even seen my Mom since I was a baby! So I just… I don’t know. I just don’t know what to do here and it honestly pissed me off.”

Uzi looked down at Narcissa, who now slept soundly in her lap, making Uzi smile a bit.

“And… and I don’t want them possibly hurting Narcissa somehow… I just… I don’t feel completely comfortable with any of this. I just want them… gone almost.”

Uzi slowly layed back into the couch, letting out a long and frustrated sigh.

N had no idea what to say to this. He understood everything she said perfectly, but he didn’t know how to help in this situation. He tried to think back on some of the memories when he lived in the Elliot Manor with Tessa, and what her parents were like.

Judgmental, controlling, narcissistic… They never really cared about Tessa- they only ever really had her to show what kind of status they had with the “high and mighty higher class”.

That wasn’t EXACTLY like Uzi’s parents, at least with the last part, but the rest seemed to hit the mark pretty accurately.

“I don’t… I don’t really have a proper say in this, I hate to admit. I don’t know what to say, or how to help here. I lived with humans similar to that for years before coming here, but I never knew how to work around or through it until I left.” He paused, thinking of how to finish.

“I’ll always be here for you and Narcissa, every step of the way. And also, if they ever try hurting her, they’ll regret it. I’d never let them near her if that’s what they wanted to do.”

Uzi stayed silent, now looking at her partner. “I… I’m scared, N.”

N moved up to a spot next to her on the couch, he pulled her closer, which she went with immediately. Leaning into him relaxed her rushing thoughts, making her calm down.

“It’s okay. We’re gonna be okay. I promise.” He whispered. She reached up and hugged him tightly. “I’m so glad you’re in my life.” She whispered.

“Me too.”

Soon enough, the two fell quiet, and soon enough, the trio fell into a deep sleep on the couch.

Relaxed, Quiet, Peaceful…

Just what every good family needs sometimes.

Chapter Text

The week had flown by extremely quickly, and now, it was the morning of the thing Uzi and N had been waiting for the longest.

The Wedding.

THEIR Wedding.

The icy fiord that was constantly blustering outside the doors of their little town had finally calmed down after the calamity a few years prior, so it made the perfect place for a calm and quiet venue.

V and Lizzy were helping Uzi get ready in a smaller building off to the side of it all, tying up her long to the ankle black wedding dress in the back, and brushing and styling her hair with various small jeweled flowers.

“I feel like a frickin fairy princess.” Uzi stared at herself in a tall standing mirror as Lizzy was handed a bobby pin from V to slide into the drones hair.

“Isn’t that the point?” Lizzy asked, sectioning another part of Uzi’s hair as V walked to face Uzi, Narcissa in her arms.

V was helping out as a maid of honor, and helping take care of Narcissa while all this was happening for the day. She’d never admit it, but she wanted to help as much as she could before her and Lizzy left next week.

“Oh cmon. As much as I may dread saying this later, you look GOOD. Like, genuinely. N is probably gonna pass out kinda good.” She said.

Uzi hummed. She still wasn’t used to looking like this. When she was little, she hated the mere idea of dresses. Now she was wearing one, willingly nonetheless. She wasn’t even wearing her signature beanie, which made her feel even stranger.

“I guess… I guess I didn’t think it would be like this.”

V and Lizzy looking at their friend, confused. “Elaborate.” They asked in unison, tilting their heads.

“I guess I just mean… I wasn’t expecting all this to happen. Like- Marriage, a Kid, Losing 98% of contact with my Parents… I guess most of this is like one of those “good weird” kind of a things?” She turned and looked at the trio now in front of her.

“Does it seem… normal?” She asked, softer than intended.

“Dude, we live basically in a barren freezing space wasteland and we saved it and technically the universe from mass destruction. This is the most normal thing you’re probably ever gonna experience.” V snickered.

“Yeah, and this is like, a once in a life time kind of a thing. So, once it’s done it’s done. You only gotta “panic” at least about this part for about like, 5-7 minutes tops. I know that’s probably not what you’re looking for but I’ve been at other drones wedding enough to know what at least some of them are thinking, saying, etc. You’re one of the mildest.” Lizzy added.

Uzi sighed, now wondering if N was feeling the same right now.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

N was heavily panic breathing into a paper bag, trying to calm himself.

“Dude, you need to relax.” Thad said, leaning back on the wall of the private building they had for N to get ready in.

“Relax? I’m the most relaxed drone on this planet! What makes you think I’m not relaxed? I’m super chill and calm right now!” He said with a clearly rushed and panicked tone, accidentally tearing the bag in half without even noticing.

“Oh. Yeah. Super calm.” Thad shook his head and stood up properly, walking closer to N. “Look man, this is like, the big part of the picture you’ve been waiting for. It’s like- the big happy ending to a story or something. Something I’m sure everyone’s been waiting for!” N tilted his head before Thad shook his head.

“What I’m trying to get at is, that girl loves you. Heck, you guys had a kid together. If that’s what you’re worried about, then I think you’re worrying for nothing.” He smiled, placing a hand on N’s shoulder. “Get what I mean?”

“I really appreciate that.” N smiled before continuing. “But I was also really worried about this suit. You don’t think it looks to tacky or anything like that, right?” He asked, turning in different directions to look at himself in the mirror.

Thad laughed. “You look great, man.” He looked then looked at the watch on his wrist. “Oh shoot- you guys gotta get hitched in like- two minutes- you need to get out there!” He pointed to the makeshift metal alter outside. N nodded as they ran out towards it.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

N stood silently at the alter with Thad by his side, as they waited for the others to come out.

Lizzy already sat in a chair, with a bunch of the other guests, vaguely chatting with them and holding onto Narcissa, and V had already wandered out, now standing across from N and Thad. She wore a knee length sparkly red dress and held a small bouquet of metal black and silver roses.

N gulped. This was now somehow slightly terrifying to him. The waiting, that is. His mind could only race in that moment. He couldn’t even grab a hold of one of those singular thoughts, but boy were they racing.

That’s when the music started up, and everyone stood to face away from the alter, and to see the bride at the end.

N’s eyes widened. There stood the most beautiful girl in the whole universe. His soon to be wife.

Uzi.

She slowly walked towards him, flowers in her hand. She had a sparkling jeweled crown made of flowers in her hair, which held up a light black veil in front of her amber and purple eyes.

This was it. All eyes on Uzi and N. N couldn’t help but tear up as she came all the more closer.

Uzi couldn’t help but tear up herself. Seeing the love of her life in front of her, looking to the left slightly to see her good friend, and looking amongst the crowd to see Lizzy holding Narcissa while they did the vows.

Uzi couldn’t be happier.

She reached the alter, now facing towards N. As for the guy who would ask for their vows? Their old Highschool teacher. A man truly if many talents, even if he doesn’t get paid enough for it.

“You… you look like you stepped out of a fairytale.” N whispered, taking her hands in his.

“And you look incredibly dorky in a suit… but in a hot kind of a way.” Uzi whispered back, a blush and smirk now covering her face.

“Dearly beloved… We are gathered here today to witness the joining of these two drones, Uzi Doorman, and N Elliot.” The teacher started.

This was it. Everything was truly perfect now.

“Before we ask for vows, I must ask the crowd of people here, if you have any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

N and Uzi broke eye contact and looked towards the small crowd, almost starting to sweat.

A silence covered the crowd, and relief took over the duo. The gazed back towards each other.

“Alright cool- so anyway, uh- Ah. Yes. So N, do you take this worker drone to have and to hold, care for in sickness and in health and all that?” He asked.

N smiled. “Always.”

“Alright- and Uzi? You feeling the same?”

“I do.” She couldn’t help but beam.

“Cool. Mkay I need some rings.” He looked over to Thad, who pulled them out of his jacket pocket and handed them to the duo.

They each took one and slowly slid it on the others ring finger.

“I now pronounce you two, husband and wi-”

“WE OBJECT!” Yelled a voice from behind the crowd.

Everyone turned, only to be met with the faces of Nori and Khan. The two faces Uzi could only pray to not see.

So much for that “Perfect Wedding”…

Chapter Text

All eyes were now on the parents of the bride as they started walking up the aisle towards the supposed to be newlyweds.

“Mom? Dad? What the hell are you doing here?!” Uzi exclaimed. N took a step in front of Uzi protectively, putting an arm in front of her.

“Marriage? Seriously? What are you thinking? You can’t get married! And the fact you have a kid with this guy makes it honestly kinda worse!” Nori shot, standing on Khan’s helmet.

“And how many times do I have to remind you that he’s a “MURDER” Drone? He’ll kill you when he gets the chance!” Khan added, pointing towards N.

V tossed her flowers aside with a growl. “HEY! Just so you’re aware, we haven’t eaten other drones like weird vampires since before the disaster, all thanks to YOUR kid. Yeah, I’ll admit, she’s a little stupid sometimes-” Uzi shot her a confused glare but she didn’t acknowledge it. “…But she’s definitely a better drone than you both will ever be.”

N nodded. “Yeah! And, she’s honestly changed me for the better. I was a confused drone with no friends, confused about where I was going, and so much more, but your daughter helped me see so much more. Heck, she’s basically some kinda god with the power she carries with her! So I am EXTREMELY happy to call her my wife, as soon as this guy says…” He gestured back towards the teacher.

“Oh. Yeah. I now pronounce you husband and wife or whatever. You probably know the rest from here.” He shut the “marriage vows for dummies” book he was holding and walked away, leaving the two by the alter.

“Welp. That works for me.” Uzi said, shoving her veil up and promptly kissing N, catching him a bit off guard at first. He immediately melted into it, now wrapping his hands around her waist as everyone now cheered, leaving Nori and Khan utterly speechless.

They pulled away after a moment and faced the crowd and Uzi’s parents. “If you can’t accept or support me, or my actual family, then I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.” Uzi said sternly, narrowing her eyes at them.

Everyone once again fell silent and turned back to the objectors.

N reached for Uzi’s hand which she gladly took, V now coming up and standing at their close side, Thad, Lizzy, and Narcissa also jointing them, staring down what felt like a beast.

Nori chimed in again. “So you’re really gonna do this, huh?”

Uzi nodded.

“Alright. Fine. So be it. Cmon Khan, let’s go home.” She said, turning away from the group.

“You’re serious? We’re just gonna-”

“Yes. Cmon. We’re going.” She then used her solver to pick Khan up and turn him the opposite direction, pushing him away from the group.

He briefly looked back a moment before shaking his head, acting on Nori’s commands, and walking away.

Everyone watched as they slowly disappeared into the distance and Uzi slowly looked back to N, tears in her eyes.

This was truly one of the hardest things she’d ever done. Yes, she’d saved the world before, basically become a part demon-esk god, and had a pregnancy which she kept a secret most of the time at one point, but this?

This was truly different for her.

N looked at her and pulled her close into a tight hug, comforting the now misty-eyed bride.

V gently patted her back. “Don’t worry. We’re here for you.” She near whispered as she hugged N tighter.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Months had passed. V and Lizzy had left on their trip with plans to visit, leaving a radio transmitter with Uzi and N in case anything happened.

As for Uzi and N, they were happily still living together and taking care of their daughter.

“I find it so cool she has two different colored eyes… They’re so adorable!” N cooed before booping her gently.

He was laying on the floor, playing with her while Uzi did some dishes, keeping the small drone distracted.

Narcissa giggled, gazing at her dad with her one purple and one yellow eyes.

“Yeah, she sure is something. Just like her weird dad.” Uzi snickered, now sitting above them on the couch, with a couple of drinks in hand. She passed one to N who gladly accepted.

N laughed, then thanking Uzi for the drink. “I’m preeeeetty sure she’s a lot like her Mom too, though. She does act a little moody sometimes.”

“Moody? Please!” Uzi shot back, still laughing. N crawled up onto the couch next to his wife, gently picking up Narcissa with his tail and placing her between them.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”

They stared at each other for a long moment.

“I’m so glad this is our life.”

“I’m glad it is too.”

Narcissa giggled again, making the duo smile.

“Let’s keep this.”

“Agreed.”

They started to lean in for a kiss when suddenly there was a knock on the door.

“Ughhh… I’ll grab it.” Uzi groaned, slowly getting up and making her way towards the door, not before giving N a quick peck.

She made her way to the door, opening it only to be met with Nori and Khan standing there.

“…what the hell are you doing here?” She finally asked, with a deep and slightly bitter tone.

“Look… We thought it over, and we wanted to apologize…” Khan started, nerves dripping from the sentence.

“Yeah… We were, I’ll admit, mostly thinking of ourselves in this regard, and didn’t even want to acknowledge or truly think or understand how much you loved and cared for that Dro-” Nori paused and cleared her throat. “…N. You’re right. He does take care of you, and you do the same for him, I’m sure. You don’t have to forgive us, but we did want to run that by you, just so you know we aren’t mad anymore, and maybe… want to understand more at some point.”

Uzi looked back and forth between the two for a moment. “…I understand. I’ll consider it, and talk to my husband about this.”

The two nodded. “Sounds good. Guess… we’ll be seeing you then.” Khan waved a bit. Before he turned to walk away. Nori, still riding on his helmet did the same thing as they did.

Uzi quietly shut the door, going back by N who happily played with their daughter.

She smiled, taking a deep breath in and out before approaching.

“What was that about, honey?” N asked, keeping his smile. “A long story. But I think we can talk more about it later. For now, let’s just stay like this.” She replied, sitting back down next to the two and cuddling up next to him.

“Nothing wrong with that.” N stroked her hair, softly.

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Notes:

Almost One whole year ago, about 2-3 days after the MD Finale dropped, I came up with the idea for a fanfic for after the show. A brief continuation, if you will. Well that caused a lot of late night thinking, dozens of positive comments/feedback, and a lot of joy in writing, and believe you me, my slightly younger self did not know what was about to happen when they wrote that, but obviously, it just kept getting better and better. So, I would like to thank my audience for reading this all the way through, if you’ve stuck through it this far. If you have, cool. You’re one of the real ones. Will I Continue this story with more of the future tales from Copper 9 with the new gen? Maybe someday. I wouldn’t mind continuing it, but for now I need a break. So for now, this story is coming to a close. So thank you all again, and I’ll see you in the next. Love you guys. ~C.C.P.622

P.S. I might write a slightly similar story involving TADC, but that’s up in the air atm. You’ll probably find it if I do it lmao.

Chapter 16: What…?

Bet you guys weren’t expecting this one, huh? (No pun intended.)

Chapter Text

Sixteen years later, and now, Narcissa paced around the bathroom.

“Oh my god… how do I tell my parents this? And WHY did this only start to happen now…?”

“B-But you seem fine to me, Narcissa!”

“But this shouldn’t even be possible! Yeah, I get it, I’m the daughter of a god powered worker drone and a murder drone, but this… HOW DOES THIS FACTOR IN?” She asked, raising her voice slightly for the last part.

She really didn’t want her parents checking on her constantly over something she could easily control and keep hidden from them.

At least for awhile…

“Oh c-c-come now, eager beaver, t-this is normal!”

“And you should stay. Out. Of. This. You ARE the problem!” Narcissa now leaned on the bathroom counter, looking at herself in the mirror.

She looked back and forth between her heterochromia purple and yellow eyes in the mirror, slight distress filling them.

She let out a frustrated sigh before looking down into the sink.

“Out of all the things to inherit, why was one of them YOU?” She growled.

“B-but Narcissa! I’m a won-wonderful being to be around and talk-talk to!”

“No Cyn, no you’re not.”

Silence fell in the bathroom.

It felt loud enough to make Narcissa want to cry out of frustration for what was happening.

Cyn, as some would say, “lived in her head rent free”, but in this case, it was sometimes almost literal.

Her main host of “living” was in Uzi, but when Narcissa was born, some of her consciousness went into Narcissa, at the moment presenting itself as talking through her head.

“It’s funny to see-see you so worked up over this!” Cyn giggled.

“Why couldn’t you just stay with Mom in her tail? You’re MUCH better there.” She asked, slowly falling to the floor.

“I-I like new per-perspectives! Besides, the fun is really gonna begin soon!” Cyn replied, all too happy in her remark.

“What’s that supposed to mean? What kind of fun?”

“O-Oh… you-you’ll find out…”

Narcissa hugged her knees for a moment before hearing a knock on the door, making her quickly stand. “Hey Honey! Just letting you know dinners ready!” N cheerfully beamed through the door.

“Sounds good dad! I-I’ll be out in a sec!” She turned to face herself in the mirror one last time before taking a step back and then leaving for the door.

The second she stepped out however, unknown to her, is when the crack on the mirror slowly trailed down…

Maybe the end of this story isn’t as close as we think…
