Fade into you

Summary:

When Felix was just a child, he knew he loved his friend, Sam. That understanding would lead him down a dark and turbulent road that left him broken and he believed, unloveable.

Throughout his life, Hyunjin has crossed paths with the boy at the cafe so many times, he no longer believes it's an accident. There must be bigger forces at work. There's never been anyone else for him. It's only ever been him.

Chapter 1: cracks

Chapter Text

/;/ cracks/;/

Felix watched as the tail lights faded in the distance, taking all of his confidence and self-worth with them. No one could have ever convinced him the man he trusted with so much would simply give up on him.
Alone and reeling from the suddenness of it all, he fell to his knees in the middle of the street and cried in thick, gut wrenching sobs. He had left his home, drawn away from his broken family and few friends, and made his relationship the center of his world, when he could focus on something more than his own pain.
"I don't understand," he whispered, his mind refusing to accept the various crumbs of memory for the clues that they were to the other's surrender.

It wasn't the leaving, the end of his relationship that broke him. No, no. That was just the icing on the cake. It was the final straw that snapped his resolve and sapped the strength from his body and mind.
The cracks began to form long before that day.
