I’ve been marking things on a calendar lately. You said it was good to stay organized, and I guess it’s helped.

“One call,” the former Galactic leader said, their pale blue eyes staring unwaveringly at their hands. The walls of the room were painted a sterile white. The air conditioning hummed, too cold and too loud. “I only need one.”
The officer sighed, his crisply-ironed suit crinkling at the elbow as he brought his hand up to pinch his nose. “You do understand that even your connections to the current Champion will not help you, correct? You are currently one of the highest-threat individuals we are holding. Nothing you say will get you out.”
“That is not my intent,” Cyrus murmured quietly. “One call. I ask for nothing more.”
“Fine. Get up, then.”
