Chapter Text
It has been one year since Cleo had been dumped by her boyfriend of three years, Deuce. Good for him, okay Cleo was a bitch and still is, but maybe she deserved a little more of a heads up.
Ghoulia was on her switch on a navy lounge that was specifically set aside in her walk in closet for Ghoulia to hang out on while Cleo was getting ready for whatever event. Today, it was a Saturday night party that Draculaura was hosting for some benign reason that Cleo was sure Ghoulia, Frankie, and Draculuara had told her but she was too unimportant to remember.
It was a casual ghouls only no boys allowed type thing. Which was fine with Cleo, she didn’t want to have to deal with watching Deuce hit on other girls in front of her. The other Ghouls weren’t that horrible company either.
Her outfit was scary cute, she had a new haircut, and Ghoulia would be there. And Frankie, but that isn’t a comforting thing. It’s a good thing, but also a scary thing, because when did Frankie become one of the coolest ghouls in school.
When did Cleo care what Frankie thought of her?
It signifies the beginning of the end really Cleo was clearly loosing it. “Blue or gold?” She tilted her eyeshadow pallet so that Ghoulia could see it.
Cleo hummed in reply to Ghoulia’s garbled response. Gold of course it’s a classic, blue would signify she was trying which she wasn’t for this kind of get together. She needed to look good, but she didn’t need to come off as she was trying to be the center of attention. She just merely would be.
Affirmations were scribbled onto her mirror or sticky noted along side a few Polaroids with cute magnets or stickers. It almost ruined the aesthetic of her vanity, but it was grounding one of the things that made this Cleo’s vanity in her closet and not some replaceable relic.
She took a deep breath, put her heels on and turned to Ghoulia “Let’s go.” Ghoulia gave her a thumbs up as she plugged in her switch and followed after Cleo where her private driver would be parked ready to take them, fashionably late of course.

Draculaura was going to host the party of the scaremester at the very least. All ghouls- all night- all fun. Frankie had a killer playlist and sound system set up. Clawdeen had the decorations scary perfect and Draclaura had more than enough snacks, and booze set out.
Some might think it sad that she was a little lonely now that she didn’t get to spend so much time with her boyfriend. Is she worried about all her friends graduating this year? Of course, so she’s got to make every moment count until then. She didn’t want to have any regrets or feel like she didn’t show her friends that she cared. Hell, she made up with Valentine last year. She could do anything.
Part of being the best hostess ever, was keeping an omniscient eye on the whole party, the only person better might be Spectra because she was nosey, but she wasn’t a good hostess because when she hosted a party last year she purposefully put everyone into the most dramatic situations possible. The school paper was extremely interesting to read for the next few weeks though, not worth the turmoil in Draculaura’s opinion. Regardless, when Cleo arrived fashionably late, Draculaura didn’t pay much mind to it, now though nearly half an hour she was standing too close to be platonic next to Frankie and Dracuaura almost tripped over her own feet as she moved to give them her full attention.
They were chatting, and giggling- suspicious activity of the highest caliber. Frankie would have mentioned a crush right? Draculaura creeped through the moderate sized crowd to a closer vantage point to possibly over hear the conversation, which even with her super hearing was difficult with the volume of the music. She was wearing her earplugs but that only minimally helped filter sound. They weren’t actually made for super spy eavesdropping missions, especially not ones happening in the middle of a high school party.
“Oh, what are you looking at?” Speak of the devil, Draculaura sighed as she felt a cold chill run through her.
Draculaura pulled spectra down behind the couch with her. “Shhh.” Draculaura then pointed to Cleo and Frankie. “That’s so not platonic of them right? I’m not reading to much into it?” Draculaura asked, not wanting to gossip about one of her best ghoufriends but also didn’t want to think herself crazy.
”Ohhhh spooky good tea.” Spectra hummed, tilting her own head for a moment. “No definitely not, you’re reading into it the exact right amount, this is very very not platonic of them, I don’t think Cleo ever even looked like that next to Deuce even. Cleo is acting like boyfriend.”
Frankie and Cleo were by the makeshift bar, where Cleo of all people was mixing up Frankie’s drink, holding them close and leaning down to whisper into Frankie’s ear.
“They’ll be an even bigger IT couple than Cleo and Deuce were.” Spectra cooed pulling out her icoffin to take a photo and then write some notes. “Should we start their prom King and Queen campaign now?”
”Absolutely.” Draculara agreed, only half listening to Spectra, but having Frankie and Cleo as prom King and Queen would be feariffic. It might even keep Spectra distracted enough from pushing Cleo and Frankie about whatever this is between them too soon. If Frankie hasn’t talked to her about it yet, then they probably haven’t realized their own feelings yet.
Draculaura let’s out a breath, she better let Frankie figure it out a bit on their own then. “Wanna dance?” She glances to Spectra, might as well have a freaky good time with one of her ghoul friends in the meantime, since it looks like Clawdeen ditched her to do shots with Toralei.

The fearteria actually had really good food and put a lot of effort into having options for everyone’s dietary needs. It was a Monday which was never a great thing but an inevitable one. With every ghoul, Clawdeen herself included, tired from Draculaura’s rager, there was just a smidge less chatter and chaos. Tomorrow was a new day of course and with just one more night of sleep every ghoul was sure to back to tip top shape, but for today, the fresh meat ghouls were just a tad less eager to fawn over Deuce and allowed Frankie a line of sight towards the monster.
“I think I hate him.” Frankie stated looking across the fearteria to Deuce’s snakes hissing in between the throng of monsters.
Clawdeen let out a snort. “Ghoul, I didn’t know you were capable of anything but happy-go-lucky. I mean, you domesticated Cleo of all ghouls.” Even Clawdeen had caught sight of Cleo and Frankie giggling all night long, which was probably part of why Frankie now had such venom towards Deuce.
Frankie sighed, waving their friends off. ”Cleo is just amazing, you wouldn’t get it.”
It was Drauculaura’s turn to let out a snort. “We’ve been on the fearleading team together since longer than you’ve been alive Frankie. She’s literally never looked at me without a shred of disdain.”
Clawdeen sighed, guessing she’d have to play peace maker. ”That was really shitty of Deuce to try to ask you to prom after dumping Cleo, but it had been four months. Even Draculaura moved on from what’s his face to my brother in less time.” She didn’t feel guilty for throwing Drac under the bus. It was always funny to watch her get heated about the whole situation.
”Oh, my vamps.” Draculaura groaned, she let her face fall into her hands. “I was literally under a love spell. I liked Claud before then.”
“Exactly.” Frankie then stabs into her lunch. “He should never have even looked at another ghoul after his crime.”
Draculuara glanced between Clawdeen and Frankie, eyes catching onto Clawdeen’s and understanding passed between them. ”I can’t believe you and toralei are hanging out now too?” Clawdeen had never been happier than Draculaura was capable of getting a hint and changing the topic.
“She’s fierce what can I say.” Clawdeen shrugged, taking a bite of her sandwich as Frankie turned their attention to her with pleading eyes- nothing like hot gossip to get attention.

Lights were flickering down the empty school halls, there was lots of screaming coming from the school gym. Fear leading and casketball practice were in full swing, and Clawdeen could hear Cleo leading the chants from all the way down the hall. On the other end Ghoulia and Slow-mo were working on a self-driving robot that she’d occasionally see zipping past out of the corner of her eyes.
So many other ghouls seemed like they had plans. Ghoulia and Frankie were going to be roommates at some freaky smart college. Cleo was getting a business and marketing degree to help run the family business. Even Clawd seemed to ironing out details for his future now that he was in his freshmeat year of collage.
A squeak of sneakers caught her attention as a bookbag hit the floor and someone sat beside her. It was Deuce Gorgon. Clawdeen couldn’t help but raise a brow. He had always seemed like such a go with the flow kind of guy why’d he need remedial meetings with the guidance counselor.
Clawdeen knew why she was waiting for the student scarlounsler. ‘Fashion’ wasn’t a good enough career path, she needed a solid and realistic backup. Doesn’t matter that she run’s probably one of the most popular fashion blogs or that she’s already been invited to many runways, even once as a guest designer at one scaris fashion week show. It was a whole up and coming designers runway bit for scaris Boogue, but that doesn’t matter she was still one of few young designers invited.
That still didn’t explain why Deuce was in a meeting with the guidance counselor after school.
Clawdeen decided to bite the bullet, “What got you in trouble with her?”
Deuce snorted, shrugging as he shifted in his seat. “That’s one way to put it.”
”I kinda assumed that you’d end up doing the same thing Clawd is?” Clawdeen admitted, not shyly, it was obvious he was in line for the guidance counselor. Anyway, Deuce wasn’t really her friend they were friendly but nonetheless friends adjacent through Clawd possibly enemies adjacent when he was still with Cleo. That meant that Clawdeen didn’t need to be overly nice to him.
“So did I for a while.” Deuce shrugs looking down at his sneakers. “I’m a decent player I could definitely get into a school on a scarelorship, but I don’t think I want to go pro and I’m not sure what i want to do past monster high. I haven’t actually applied for anything yet.”
”That’s not great.” Clawdeen chuckled, speaking from experience. “No plan at all is a little ballsy.”
“What is she on your ass about? Don’t you have like a thirty step plan to success?”
“Yep, but fashion isn’t realistic apparently no matter how successful I already am. Doesn’t matter that I have solid plans, it doesn't matter if I’m not applying to a school.”
“Bummer bro.” Deuce shrugs, before catching the look Clawdeen sent him. “Bra?” Deuce tilted his head, snakes hissing, before sighing as Clawdeen shook her head. “Bro-ette.”
“I think you’d better stop before you dig yourself any farther down.” Clawdeen stated giving him a pat on the shoulder as the office door opened, and the guidance counselor beckoned her in.

Frankie came to sit on the bleachers for fearleading practice besides Ghoulia. They often worked on their science lab projects in between watching the fearleaders. It was something watching Cleo boss the fearleaders and casketball players, ghouls and boys, alike around.
“Every time Cleo talks to me I think I’m going through cardiac arrest.”
Ghoulia garbles back at Frankie but they shake their head. “No, no, it’s nothing like that, those are called butterfly’s, because the feeling like flutters in your stomach.” Frankie sighs as she fiddles with her safety goggles. “At least, that’s how Clawdeen explained it to me when I went on those dates with Holt.”
Ghoulia gives her a look and garbles another response at them. Frankie almost doesn’t hear as they were looking down towards where Cleo was currently running the team through warm up. Frankie
Frankie sighs as they pass over their chem notes. “I just, Cleo has only dated Deuce and I don’t want to just assume things.” Frankie sighs shaking their head when Ghoulia responses. “Let’s just get this project done.”
Frankie kept sneaking glances at Cleo, Frankie had sat here before. Had even been out in the gym during her freshmeat year, going through the same motions that the fear leaders were now. The team had changed so much yet here they sat, Frankie looking at Cleo like she hung the stars.
This time though, things were different.

Frankie wasn’t really paying attention when their professor was explaining the group project activity. They had Clawdeen in this class so Frankie assumed, that they’d pair up. They usually did aftera, but Frankie was too busy attempting an origami flower that lagoona had learned from Jinafire that lagoona then taught Frankie last period instead of paying attention to the lecture.
”Step off, Clawdeen.” Cleo spoke with such venom that it was practically falling from her mouth. “Frankie is going to be my partner, go hang with Toralei.”
Claudeen whistled low, “Good luck with that Frankie.” Claudeen didn’t need to be told twice as she gave the other girl a smile and went over to her desk. Frankie couldn’t help but think good for Clawdeen before internally panicking that Cleo chose Frankie over the twins.
“You’re the most tolerable person to do this group project with.” Cleo pushed some desks around and pulled on to slide in next to Frankie, blocking them in. Not that Frankie minded, having Cleo this close though made Frankie a bit self conscious, but it was too late to sniff their jacket to make sure it was clean enough.
Holy shit, Cleo said they were tolerable. Not even- the most tolerable monster in this class. That’s the nicest thing Cleo has ever said to anybody in the history of ever.
Cleo sat beside Frankie as they folded the last few details to the flower that they’d been folding. The dark blue paper had a shimmery texture that was a contrast to the neon green that was Frankie’s usual school supplies. It made it harder for them to lose, not that it stopped Frankie, but Frankie made it slightly longer before having to replace them.
”I did it.” Frankie grinned as Cleo was opening her book. Cleo rolled her eyes and Frankie looked at her and didn’t even think before shoving the origami flower to her. “For you? Uh- you can have it.” It was the least romantic way to do it, but impulse took over.
Cleo’s face flushed, as she pulled her hand out to take the flower. “Thank you, Frankie.” Voice oddly soft as she cradled the origami flower closer to her. “You did a great job with it.”
Frankie flushed, as they looked down back to their desk to work on the project, and they couldn’t hide their grin.

Claudeen sighed, she was on coffin time with Claud, screech messaging Frankie and Draculaura, while attempting to flirt over text to Toralei, and maybe actually finish her monster history homework on time for once.
“No one believes me Claudeen.”
”Aren’t there other vamps?”
”Not really, I was just so used to how monster high was, but no one believes I’m dating a vampire let alone one as cute as dracie is.”
”Dracie?” A message pinged on Claudeen’s Icoffin.
Did you get the answers for the monster map assignment?
It was from Toralei, Claudeen couldn’t help the grin that stretched out on her face as she hummed at Claud who had begun to speak again.
“I’m trying out a new nickname okay.”
Claudeen let a few more seconds go before she responded. I got u ghoul! Frankie got the answers from an old map Cleo’s dad has. Which pages?
”All our polaroids i have, people think I faked her.”
Clawdeen couldn’t help but laugh as she texted Toralei, it was a little funny that Clawd roommate and new teammates thought he was pathetic enough to make up a girl friend. No one got away with dissing Draculaura like that though, maybe she’d make it a ghouls trip and go visit him after finals for the weekend and travel home with him for break. Let him show of Draculaura a little and the rest of them can take some cute pics for the gram.
”You are a freshman you gotta prove your street cred, but it’s a little overkill since your ghoul friend of like 3 years is in fact real.”
Thanks! That shirt you had one was really cute, an original Clawdeen design?
”I know and no one gets to make fun of Drac on my watch.”
”Yeah, yeah.” Claudeen puts him on mute as another message from Frankie comes through.
I’m texting Cleo, I’m texting Cleo, I’m texting Cleo. Frankie chants through the scream message, causing her to let out a sigh.
Don’t you know it!
She unpauses Claud listening to him talk about how much he misses Drac. Was that too cocky? Or just cocky enough, fun and flirty leaving the conversation open for more? She liked the message, before Toralei sent another message filling her with a sense of relief. Oooohh, a little bit of cheeky, flirty banter.
“Don’t you talk to Deuce still?” Clawdeen brought up to him, maybe she could push this off onto him.
”Not as much, He’s still my bro but he’s trying to figure out himself a bit and just doesn’t have that much time for me I guess.”
Clawdeen muted again as Draculaura sent a scream message. There was a few seconds of unintelligible screeching then a few deep breaths as Draculaura let out a high pitched ghoul spilllll!
”and I do?” Clawdeen replied before muting him again to reply to her ghouls group chat, “WOW, it’s not like you haven’t had her number since you were on the fearleading team freshmeat year and it’s taken three to have a conversation with her?”
“You’re my sister, you’re legally obligated too?” Clawd replied with a sigh, glancing down at his homework before looking back up at his phone and thus Clawdeen. “How come you were asking about him? I didn’t think you two were that close, unless you really miss me that much!”
She literally asked me my opinion on a pair of shoes, and then she said that she was actually going to wear them tomorrow. Frankie replied back quickly, Clawdeen let out a snort as she shot off another message to Toralei. Fuck, was she going to need to send a pic soon? Sexting while on FaceTime with her brother might be too far.
Clawdeen rolls her eyes andGood for you. Cleo decided your fashion sense isn’t atrocious.
“Ew no, he’s just been like bummed or whatever. Acting a little weird I guess, enough that I think you should hit him up and talk a little and see if you can help him.”
Or here me out. Cleo gave you two correct options so she had an excuse to talk to you so it didn’t matter how you answered.
Clawdeen sent her a quick message saying that she better go to bed soon, better to leave Toralei wanting more anyway. That shut down one conversation, she needed to start getting ready for bed anyway.
DON’T GIVE ME SUCH HOPE DRAC
“Do you think he’s regretting breaking it off with Cleo? You think she’d take him back.”
”She absolutely won’t, Cleo and Frankie are dancing around each other right now and I don’t think that’s what he’s caught up about. Whatever you deal with you’re friends, I’m going to bed.” She waved and hung up on him abruptly, she’d end up talking to him again sometime soon anyway. She could continue to screach message Draculaura and Frankie as she did her bedtime routine.

There was another casket ball game that night. The fearleaders were on the sidelines and Frankie decided to come watch this one. Not just because Cleo had mentioned that she needed to come, but Clawdeen was sick so Frankie and Draculaura were going to make her a get well basket over the weekend. Thus, a sleepover that weekend.
They were dressed casually, a cute crop top, a big jacket with even bigger baggier cargo pants, and some cute high tops that they and clawdeen painted on one sleepover. Nothing they could ever put together compares to the fear leading uniforms.
Frankie was never going to get over how cute the fearleading uniforms were, but Frankie really would never get over how good Cleo looked in hers. It was loud and boisterous, Deuce was on the floor, which at this point Frankie supposed her one sided war with him was unwarranted.
Monster high did as amazing as always and it was after the game, while Frankie was waiting for Draculaura to get done in the changing room that Cleo approached them. They were lazily scrolling through their phone before Cleo caught their eye and they looked up.
“Next Saturday,” Cleo started off, which catches Frankie’s attention. Just seeing Cleo coming up to them and talking brings a grin to Frankie’s face. “Let’s go out on a date. I’ll send you the address and we can meet up at four.”
Frankie’s mouth opened wide for a moment before they recovered. “I’d love that. Yes please!” Frankie quickly agreed, nodding their head vigorously.
Cleo smiled, looking into Frankie’s eyes for a moment when Frankie stopped nodding. “I’m glad, see you then.” Cleo turned, giving Frankie a wave, before walking away down the bleachers and then out the gym.
After a few moments, Frankie leaped down the row, to where Ghoulia was going over the cheer gear, making sure it gets put away correctly. Frankie squealed as they grabbed Ghoulia and lightly shook her for a moment.
Ghoulia grumbled.
“Yes, yes, yes.” Frankie squealed again, finally letting Ghoulia go, grinning ear to ear. “I can’t believe you kept this a secret from me.”
Ghoulia shrugged as she patted Frankie on the shoulder. “Thank you. You’re literally the best.” Frankie replied as Ghoulia waved at them to help move some boxes which Frankie quickly obliged.

”But I feel like my heart’s going to explode out of my chest Draculaura.” Frankie exclaims, before quieting back down with a sigh. “That’s nothing like butterfly’s.” Even after a whole weekend of talking about how Cleo asked them on a date Frankie couldn’t shut up about the it. Frankie would almost go as far to say as that it was the most important moment of their life.
The glow of the moon illuminates Draculaura's bedroom. Her coffin was ajar allowing her to talk to Frankie, who was curled up on the daybed. Snack wrappers littered the floor and there was nail polish bottle scattered about, a problem for in the morning as they did their best to settle in for the night.
”Yeah, but this is love.” She grins, fangs glinting of the low light of her lamps. “You don’t think I feel that way for Clawd. Especially now that he’s away at college and we have to coffintime and he still doesn’t get to see me. I made Garrot paint me a portrait to photocopy so that Claud could put a photo of me on the back of his coffin phone so ghouls would take a hint.”
“Even the really cute one of you two in like the ghost sheets.” Frankie murmured, they had gotten the inspiration from some human Pinterest boards, when they were really deep onto the web during some bad storms year and they didn’t have school but couldn’t go out much.
”Even that one,” Draculaura nodded sagely.
Frankie gasped a little, “You’re like a vampire princess.”
”Barely, but yeah and I still feel that way. Love is terrifying and you’ve happened to fall in love with an equally terrifying person.” Draculaura was one of the scary coolest people Frankie knew and it amazed them that sometimes people didn’t recognize it.
“So I'm basically screwed.” Frankie groaned, if Draculaura had trouble with romance, with Clawd, not that he was a bad guy but at the end of the day he was just a guy, there was no way Frankie would have any luck with Cleo of all ghouls.
”No, no, from what Ghoulia has let slip I think you have a good chance with Cleo.”
Frankie groaned into the pillow and prayed that Clawdeen was feeling better and at school tomorrow morning. Clawdeen always had the best advice, but that wouldn’t happen until morning, which meant they would actually need to go to sleep for that to happen. “Good night, for real this time.” Frankie replied, turning over as Draculaura chirped her own ‘good night’ for the third time that night.

Frankie ducked through the hallway until they spotted Clawdeen at her locker. They had already abandoned Draculaura at her car who had gotten caught up talking to Lagoona about a ghouls sports team thing. “I think Cleo and I are going on a date.” Frankie once again practically screamed.
“About time,” Claudeen groans in relief as she turns to Frankie slamming her locker closed as she did so. “I think we were all going to die from the stress of the pining and I thought my brother listing off reasons why he should be allowed to date Draculaura was bad, just watching you and Cleo exist around each other was nauseating.”
“Clawdeen!” Frankie whined “I have a date with Cleo!!!!”
“I heard the first time, and I’m so happy for you ghoul, but it’s not surprising.” Clawdeen sighed as she pushed Frankie towards their locker to swap their books.
Frankie gives a little hum as they stop at their locker and Frankie takes a moment to tighten their bolts and resew their wrist where it had gotten ripped that morning at Draculaura’s but she hadn’t had any suitable thread there. “That’s what everyone keeps saying, but Cleo is Cleo and I’m me.”
”Other than Cleo literally being the Queen Bee from the moment she stepped foot inside monster high, you transferred in late. I think things might’ve been different if you started at the same time as everyone else. Cleo also had her sister Nefera that year too still at monster high. Frankie you are literally the most popular Ghoul in school, Cleo is just like the most feared and the coolest.” Clawdeen sighed, “If we're literally just talking about high school popularity, you’re friends with literally every ghoul it’s not that crazy that Cleo thinks you’re cute enough to date.”
Frankie shrugged as they finished up in their locker and shut the door. “I guess.”
Clawdeen groaned, starting the track to their first class. “High school popularity is literally the least important thing though, you’re cool, Cleo’s cool and you two get along that’s all that matters.”
”Yeah, you’re right, Cleo wouldn’t have asked me out if she wasn’t serious about it.”
”Exactly.” Clawdeen grins patting her on the back as Draculaura finally joined them in the halls.

Claudeen was having the time of her life under the bleachers, fearleading practice was canceled, so Toralei had some free time before she was expected home, and Claudeen was waiting for Frankie to finish up in the lab to take them home since Howleen hitched a ride with her own friends.
They were making out of course, Toralei’s hands were in Claudeen’s hair and Claudeen’s tongue was in Toralei’s mouth and damn her fangs. If Claudeen was ever religious this was the closest she’s ever felt.
So of course it was interrupted. Surprisingly not by a panicked Frankie but by deuce. Clawdeen wouldn’t feel bad telling Frankie to go away, but Deuce was looking at her quite pitifully. A little like a kicked puppy. She turned back to Toralei, giving her a sorrowful look.
Clawdeen sighed, “Lay it on me Duecy.” Torlalei hissed as she peeled off of Clawdeen and left her under the bleachers. Clawdeen watched her go longingly as she moved to sit under one of the benches that someone at some point drug underneath here and no one has bothered to move it.
“Okay, thanks for having Clawd reach out, I know it was you, he was weirdly incessant about calling.” Deuce explained moving to sit next to her almost curling in on himself as his snakes hissed softly. “ But uh- I could’ve gone to Ever After High, where Cupid transferred too, but there’s like a weird villain stigma? My moms didn’t get into it but Mama Dusa, went there and hated it.” Deuce shrugged, “I’ve gone to a few of there games recently ya’ know since Cupid’s transfer and I wanted to see what school there was like. I know it’s too late to transfer but maybe see what the college scene might be like because I dunno, I loved Cleo, and for so long I was happy just doing my own thing there beside her, but I realized I wasn’t actually happy there beside her. It was comfortable but she deserved better, I deserved to figure out what i wanted even though I decided that dumping Cleo was a mistake it would be my mistake to make so now I’m a bit lost, I still have no idea what I’m doing and we graduated it what like a few months.
“A little more than a few, the school year just started.” Clawdeen nodded as she listened intently to whatever Deuce felt like was so important to tell her right at that very moment instead of hitting her up at lunch or even sending her a text. She supposed she brought this onto herself though, this is what she gets for trying to be a good person.

It was the cutest cafe that Frankie had even seen. Oh, this might’ve been one of those high tea things that Draculaura raved about doing with Clawd. Frankie felt a little underdressed now that they stood in front of the doors. The slacks and satin button up were nice, Frankie dressed up to go on a date with Cleo but this still might not be enough.
“You look so handsome.” Cleo smiled, looking down at Frankie slightly, the height of her heels giving just an inch or two on Frankie.
Every worry Frankie had melted away, because if Cleo said they were handsome then Frankie was and it didn’t matter what anyone else thought, or if Frankie was or wasn’t underdressed. “Thank you. You’re absolutely radiant.” Frankie grinned, reaching for her hand hoping they weren’t being too forward.
This was the best day of Frankie’s life. It was the best date ever and Cleo even kissed their cheek at the end. Nothing could ever compare, well maybe a second date could if they were that lucky, but right now Frankie was content with rating each dessert and inform Frankie of how they are handling the utensils wrong
