Part 1
While the morning birds chirped outside the window, Della awoke from her slumber and realized that Perry had already left their bed. He was adamant about leaving early for their vacation. Although Perry was on the mend after his knee surgery, he still grumbled about the pain, and Della couldn’t help but shake her head at him. Perry and Della planned their vacation in the mountains of Northern California for a week. They owned a cabin with a gorgeous view of the lake that Perry inherited from his father. As time passed by, Perry and Della updated it to current standards. Fishing was Perry’s favorite pastime, and when he got a chance away from the office, he would travel to the cabin for relaxation. However, Della wasn’t confident when it came to fishing, but she loved the outdoors.
“Della, have you packed everything we need?” Perry enthusiastically asked and looked at her while she sat up in bed and yawned.
“Perry, I packed the suitcases last night. Was there something you forgot?” Della called out to him as she walked past him on her way to the bathroom.
“Where is my tacklebox, Della?” Perry asked her as he looked around the house.
“When we went fishing the last time, you left it in the shed where you always leave it.” Della gave him a playful swat to his shoulder, and he gave her an amused look.
“We need to leave before traffic gets backed up on the freeway.” Perry informed her before he picked up their luggage and walked through the foyer.
“Perry, do you need any help? I know your knee can’t take a lot of extra weight, and the suitcases have a week’s worth of clothing in them. I don’t want you to overdo it.” A concerned Della followed him worried that he would injure himself.
“I’m fine Della. Let’s just get on the road.” Perry opened the door and carried the two suitcases out to the car. Della secured the house and checked the appliances which were shut off before she locked the door.
The trip up north was a two-hour drive, and along the way, they stopped at a rest area where Perry stretched his legs. Della loved to travel by car since Perry agreed to sightsee and enjoy the moment. Being in their golden years now, Perry wanted to enjoy what time he had left with Della, and she felt the same way. Although they both needed to reduce their caseload, Perry wasn’t ready to slow down, and he kept busy alongside his wife. As the years passed by, Della noticed that he recently slowed down in the past month and knew it was time to enjoy what time they had left while they were still able to.
When they arrived near their secluded cabin, welcome signs directed the traffic flow. The market which was located a few miles from the cabin carried provisions that the vacationers could purchase. A few cars were parked in the parking lot, Perry drove up to the building and shut the engine off before he looked over at Della.
“In addition to the things we need for the cabin, Della, I will need new fly lures and bait for my tacklebox. I’m going to catch more fish than you this time.” Perry opened his door slowly and got out of the car, Della joined him and smiled because he was so full of himself.
“Keep it up, Perry. I’ll be catching more fish than you in no time.” Della chuckled as Perry opened her door for her. When she entered the building, she flirtatiously brushed past him, and he chuckled at her quick wit and followed her around the store as he admired the view in front of him. He hurried over to the fishing supplies while Della busied herself while shopping for the provisions that were needed for the cabin. She picked up a couple bottles of wine that Perry loved along with other perishable and non-perishable items.
Perry paid for the items before Della helped him load the groceries into the backseat of their car. Perry drove up the winding stretch of dirt road until he came to the clearing at the cabin. Della noticed nothing was out of place since the groundskeepers took care of the cabin while they were away. Perry parked the car and took the groceries in his hand before he handed her the keys so that she could unlock the front door.
“Perry, this place looks spotless, and the groundskeepers have done a great job.” Della noticed the new rose garden that was blooming in the front yard.
“Della, they get paid for the upkeep on our cabin, and I wouldn’t expect anything less.” Perry called out to her as he sat down the luggage in the bedroom. While she was in the kitchen, Della unpacked the provisions and placed them in the refrigerator and the cabinets.
“Della, I’m going to the shed and get my tacklebox and our fishing poles along with my new lures and bait. After you unpack, meet me at the dock.” Perry kissed her lips, and she blushed as he lustfully looked at her body before he left the room.
While Perry walked down to the dock, he looked out onto the water and noticed the fishing boats in the distance. Recently, the dock had been remodeled, and easy chairs were provided for them per Perry’s request. Perry spotted a few air bubbles on the water’s surface and noticed the fish near the dock. He took a seat in his chair and rested his knee while he inhaled the fresh air into his lungs. Meanwhile Della unpacked their belongings in the bedroom. When she opened the front door, she looked toward the dock and spotted Perry relaxing in the chair.
“Perry, did you catch anything yet?” Della asked when she sat next to him.
“No, not yet but I will soon.” Perry teased her. When his fishing line bobbed, he yanked on the line thinking that he caught a big one, but it was a false alarm. He clicked his tongue with his mouth and looked at his wife who smiled at his frustration.
“Perry, you will never out fish me.” Della reminded him as she opened his tacklebox and found a glittering lure and baited her hook. She cast her line out and waited for the fish to bite.
After waiting ten minutes, Della’s line snagged something, and she reeled in her prize. Perry couldn’t believe how fast she caught her first fish. Perry thought it was a stroke of luck and shrugged his shoulders with a huff before he cast his line again.
“Perry, I caught one.” Della said to him in a hush tone.
“It’s still daylight, Della, and I have all day. You maybe my good luck charm in the courtroom, but I can’t say the same out here on the dock. What are you doing to the lures? Are you casting magic spells on them so the fish could come to you?” Perry grumbled under his breath while his line bobbed in the water.
“Chief, I was glad you taught me how to fish.” Della leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before Perry smiled.
“Della, you were a great student and a quick learner.” Perry stared at her from under the brim of his fishing hat. Della steadied her hand on her reel and watched her line.
They sat on the dock casting their reels out for several hours before Perry had enough of Della’s victory catches. In defeat, Perry packed up his tacklebox and looked at the one fish that he caught compared to the five that she caught before she released them back into the water. During their slow walk back up to the cabin, Perry suggested that he would prepare hamburgers or hotdogs on the grill for dinner. Since Della wanted a hamburger, Perry would be grilling hamburgers while Della placed the potato salad and chips out on the kitchen table. As the evening went on without any interruptions, the couple settled on the couch content with their stomachs full. Della poured two glasses of wine and joined Perry on the couch. She looked in his direction as he watched the fire dance against the logs.
“Counselor, do remember the first time you brought me up here to your father’s cabin? The day you taught me how to fish led to a fun filled weekend.” Della whispered to him before she sipped her wine from the glass. When Perry drank his wine, he closed his eyes and remembered that day with a smile on his lips. As he looked down at his wife, he took her hand in his and caressed her knuckles with his thumb.
“I sure do. How could I forget the day I taught you how to fish? I had you all to myself with a starry night and listening to the wild animal calls throughout the evening.” Perry’s dimples formed on his cheeks while he sipped from his glass.
“Wild animals, Perry? Did you mean that the wild animals got a show of their own when we made love into wee hours of the morning?” Della’s raspy voice caught his attention. She blushed when Perry turned his head away from the burning wood that crackled in the fireplace and admired her.
“They certainly got a show that night. For that matter, we couldn’t help ourselves. You ripped my clothes off and attacked me in the tent.” Perry placed his hand on her thigh.
“It was the other way around, Perry. You groped me until I couldn’t resist your hands moving over my body.” Della finished her wine.
“Is that so? Please tell your side of the story to refresh my memory…..” his words trailed off, and she removed the wine glass from his hand. She leaned over and kissed him on the mouth.
“Yes, I will tell my version of the story.” Della whispered against his lips and cuddled against his side. Perry held her in his arms and stretched the length of the couch so that she could get comfortable against him.

Early 1950s
Perry Mason, along with his wife and secretary, Della Street, established his law firm in the city of Los Angeles. Although, being newlywed’s, new clientele kept them busy without much downtime. Perry hung up the phone with a prospective client, sighed heavily and lit a cigarette. He tapped his finger on his brief, got up from his chair, and looked out the window, but was interrupted by another phone call. He took another slow drag from his cigarette before he picked up the phone.
“Perry Mason, speaking…” his baritone voice spoke into the receiver, and smiled when he heard Della’s voice on the other end of the line.
“Chief, your father wants to have a word with you. Are you taking his call?” She asked him.
“Yes, Della, please put him through.” Perry replied before he took another drag off his cigarette and exhaled.
“Perry, I’m sorry for the short notice, but I must cancel our weekend fishing outing on the lake. I must attend an important meeting that’s out of town.” Alexander told his son as he furrowed his brow and waited for his son’s response.
“I understand, Dad, and we can postpone it for another weekend.” Alexander heard the disappointment in Perry’s voice.
“Perry, take Della to the cabin and make it a weekend getaway.” His father hoped that would make up for him missing their fishing trip.
“Sure, Dad. I’ll drive up to the cabin after I get the keys from Mom.” Perry assured him and hung up the phone. When Della entered the office, her arms were crossed with a curious look on her face.
“Perry, what was that all about?” Della asked while she stood in the doorway.
“My father canceled our fishing trip, and he still wants me to go and check on the cabin.” Perry replied before he leaned back into his chair.
“I am so sorry, Perry. You were looking forward to this fishing excursion with your father.” Della softly spoke to him as she walked over to his desk.
“Della, have you ever fished? Now is the time for a semi-pro fisher to teach his wife.” Perry winked at her as he had a mischievous smile on his lips before he walked to the law library and took their coats off the coat rack.
“Perry, what’s on your mind? You know that I have never fished, and when I was with my brother, I disliked the notion of all the disgusting things he used as a lure in his tacklebox.” Della called out to him as soon as Perry reappeared with the solemn look on his brooding face. She could not tell him no.
“My father, who I have not seen in three months, phoned and canceled our weekend. Now my beautiful wife-my secretary- has abandoned me too. My wife won’t travel with her handsome husband to an isolated cabin in the woods for a private weekend.” Perry confronted her as he draped her overcoat over her shoulders before he donned his own.
“I am not fishing, Perry, but if it’s your desire for me to tag along, I will.” Perry opened the door for her, and she walked out to the hallway.
“Are you accepting my invitation, Della? Does going to my father’s cabin and being rugged bother you?” Perry asked as Della got into the car.
“Yes, I’m accepting your invitation, but under one condition. I will sit back and watch you be all manly for once.” Della flirted with him before she slid across the passenger seat and he shut the car door with a loud thud.
“I have no complaints, Della. My unbelievable beautiful wife could improve her cooking skills in the kitchen while we are at the cabin.” He leaned in and kissed her.
Once they arrived home Perry phoned his mother and made plans to pick up the keys while Della packed their luggage with their clothes and essentials. While Perry talked with his mother on the phone, Della listened to their conversation.
“Perry, when you come over, please stay for dinner.”
“We can’t stay as long as I want because we must board father’s plane and then drive to the cabin. Della and I can come over for dinner after we return from the cabin. Would that work?” Perry told her as he watched Della pack their clothes. Della smiled at him since that would be a better option for them.
“Okay, Perry. I’ll see you then and I’ll leave the keys for you on the countertop. I’m sorry I might miss you since I’ll be in and out of the estate all day because I have one more client today for a possible sale.” Elizabeth told her son.
“We will see you when we return from the cabin.” Perry sighed and placed the receiver back on the cradle. Della quietly stood in the foyer and leaned against the door jamb. He walked over to her and scooped her up into his arms. She leaned back and looked up at his face.
“Are we having dinner with your parents when we get back from our trip to the cabin, Perry?” Della whispered against his lips and lowered her eyes to his mouth.
“Yes, we are going to have dinner with my folks. Is that alright with you?” Perry’s voice was an octave lower than normal, and kissed her lips.
“I don’t have a problem with that Perry.” Della’s husky voice spurred him on, and Perry became uncomfortable when she nudged her knee against his groin which caused him to hiss in her ear.
“Two can play this game, Della. You might not be able to walk after I get done with you. Remember that.” Perry growled into her ear and squeezed her backside; she giggled and kissed him thoroughly.

After Della made a light breakfast for them, Perry cleaned up the kitchen while Della got dressed in a sundress with a scarf tied around her neck. As she fastened the clasps on her sandals, Perry looked for a pair of dark slacks and tan polo shirt.
“I’m ready, Perry. Is there anything else we need? I have your boots and a change of clothes for us.” Perry looked over his shoulder and was rendered speechless by her beauty while he gazed at her.
“I thought you weren’t fishing, Della and what has changed your mind?” Perry joined her in the living room and picked up their luggage.
“I’m not fishing, Perry, but I might go hiking. I might become outdoorsy before you know it.” Della opened the front door for him and looked around the apartment before she followed him out to the car.
Once Perry and Della put their luggage in the car, Perry drove to the airport where they boarded his father’s private plane with the help of his personal pilot, Jerry. Jerry and his co-pilot helped with their luggage and placed them in the respective compartments. Perry found the refreshments while Della settled in her seat and fastened her seat belt. As Perry spoke with Jerry, Della relaxed in her seat and watched the men as they conversated. When they looked in Della’s direction, she blushed when Perry winked at her and returned to his seat beside her.
“Jerry has the coordinates to my father’s cabin, and my father already has a car waiting for us when we land.” Perry said as he handed her a glass of ginger ale, which she sipped to soothe her nervous stomach.
“Thank you, Perry.” She replied and took another sip from her glass.
“You’re welcome, Della.” He answered her before he reclined in his seat back and stretched his long legs.
The aircraft taxied down the runway and safely ascended into the air. During their two- hour flight, the landscape below them changed from the city to the wooded forest. The pilot circled the airplane around the airport and slowly descended toward the landing strip. He steered the craft in the direction of the tarmac and landed without any incident. Once he shut off the engine, he joined Perry and Della while his co-pilot assisted with their luggage. He opened the door latch and escorted them off the plane. Della looked around at the large, wooded area and noticed the car that was awaiting them before she turned around and saw Perry walking towards her with their luggage.
“Come on Della. You will love the cabin and it’s landscaping.” Perry placed the luggage in the car and opened her car door.
“I love it, Perry. It’s so peaceful here, and the scenery is just amazing.” Della told him as he boyishly smiled at her and shut her door. He started the car and drove down the dirt road that led to his father’s cabin. While Perry drove, the general store came into view, and he looked over at Della before he pulled the car into the parking lot, shut the engine off, and got out of the car.
“Care to join me, Della? I am getting provisions for the cabin. What would you like for dinner tonight?” Perry leaned against the car door before he opened it for her.
“How about hot dogs or hamburgers? We’ll get marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers to make s’mores on an open fire.” Della inquired after Perry placed his hand on her elbow to guide her towards the building.
“Mmmm.. that sounds delicious. Don’t forget the beverages after all we do have a refrigerator in the cabin and it’s a life saver, especially on these hot days. My father just installed it, and I am glad. He has the latest appliances my mother insisted on that.” Perry opened the door for her, and she entered the building as it already had a few customers inside.
Della looked around the shop and picked up the necessary items that she wanted while Perry glanced at the lures and purchased a few that he thought would bring him luck. When he joined Della at the counter and paid for their items, she raised her eyebrow at him and leaned into his side. He glanced down and smiled at her before he turned his attention to the older clerk who looked at him with a curious look in his eyes.
“Perry Mason? Is that you? How have you been doing? Where is your father, Alexander, and who is this lovely lady by your side? It’s been quite a while since I saw you.” The older man asked when he pushed his spectacles back up on the bridge of his nose and looked at Perry and Della.
“I’m doing well, thanks. My father canceled our fishing trip this weekend, he asked me to check on the cabin for him, and this my wife, Della Street-Mason. I’m sorry I don’t get to come up here as often as I should.” Perry explained to him and glanced over at Della, who carried one grocery bag in her arms while Perry carried the other one. Perry placed a large bill on the counter for their purchases without taking his change.
“Perry, I didn’t think you would settle down. Look at what you have done for yourself. You have finished law school and have a beautiful wife beside you. You’re doing great, young man.” He smiled at the young couple.
“Thank you, Della is not much of an outdoors person, but I’m sure she’ll be by the time we leave here.” Perry jokingly told the clerk. Della smirked at him and cocked her head to the side since she knew he was teasing her. She knew that Perry was full of surprises and had always done things spontaneous, which caught her off guard. She loved his spontaneity because he kept her on her toes.
“I bet you will, Perry. In the meantime, please give my regards to your parents and enjoy your stay. It was nice to meet you, Della.” He smiled at the two of them as they left. He looked down at the large bill on the counter and raised his hand to halt their movement before they exited the store.
“Wait! Perry, do you want your change?” The older clerk shouted out to him.
“Keep it!” Perry bellowed out before he joined Della at the car and placed the items in the trunk.
On their way to the cabin, Perry noticed minor changes that had taken place since his last visit, which was five years ago. The cabin had a perfect view of the lake and the mountains, which was located at the end of an unpaved road. Della noticed the beautiful cabin that stood out from the rest when Perry pointed his finger to the last house. He looked at Della, who remained quiet while she marveled at the elegant beauty of the structure.
“Perry, is that your father’s cabin? It’s beautiful on the outside, and I can’t wait to see what’s on the inside.”
“Yes, it’s the last house with a perfect view of everything and we’ll have no interruptions during our stay.” He pulled her to him and passionately kissed her. She threaded her fingers in his dark hair before he looked at her and smiled.
Perry exited the car and opened her door. When she exited the car, he handed her the keys to the cabin. He grabbed their luggage and followed her up the steps to the front door. Della opened the front door and held it while Perry walked past her. She admired the inside of the cabin, which was modern in décor, but wasn’t overly stylish. Although it was manly it also had a woman’s touch. Perry returned to the car and brought the purchases inside the cabin while Della took a solo tour of the rooms.
After he placed the food on the kitchen table, he put it in the cabinet and looked inside the refrigerator. He noticed it was spotless except for a few beers and soda that had been left from his father’s last visit. When he placed the perishable items inside the refrigerator, Della finally joined him in the kitchen. While Della placed the rest of the items in the refrigerator, Perry walked to the back patio and located his fishing gear which had been stowed away. When Della followed him to the patio, she noticed that he was looking at his fishing rod and tacklebox. She crossed her arms, leaned against the doorframe, and watched him with great interest.
“Perry, I’m going to unpack our clothes, and afterwards, I will fix dinner unless you want to do the honor.” Della asked him after he diverted his full attention from his fishing rod in his hand.
“Della, I’ll cook on the grill tonight because tomorrow morning, I’m going to be out there casting my reel, and if you want, we can go hiking later.” Perry chuckled at her and knew he would get her out on the lake casting her own line whether she liked it or not. Although Della refused to do things, he always managed to persuade her, and he would change her mind at the last minute.

When the sun peaked over the mountain ridgeline, the rays shone brightly through the windows of the cabin. As Perry stirred against Della, she hummed in contentment. He leaned forward to her sleeping body and kissed her shoulder. She turned over and captured his mouth, which was their morning ritual. He gasped for air and caressed her hip while she rolled onto her back and lovingly looked up at him. For a moment, he gazed at her and touched her silk nightgown with his fingertips.
“Perry, are you going fishing or has something else caught your eye?” Della’s raspy voice didn’t deter him while he massaged her.
“I’m going fishing, but I thought I’d take in a wonderful sight before I start my day. I’m admiring my wife who is my ‘good luck charm’.” Perry whispered to her with a twinkle in his eye and chastely kissed her on the lips before he left their bed.
“Good luck charm, Perry?” Della observed Perry from the bed while he walked into the bathroom and showered. She sat up in bed, rubbed the sleep from her eyes, and yawned before she got up out of bed and joined him.
Perry dressed in khaki shorts, a white polo shirt, and hiking boots. Della came from the bedroom and noticed his appearance. She whistled at her husband since she wasn’t accustomed to seeing him dressed so casually and looking rugged. After she brushed past him in the bathroom, she removed her nightgown, showered, and dressed in a pair of khaki shorts and t-shirt. Perry stood back and enjoyed the view and snaked his arm around her waist. Della hadn’t even brushed her hair when his strong arm pulled her to him. She smiled at his eagerness before she leaned back into his embrace and looked at him.
“Perry, you look so handsome and outdoorsy.” She whispered to him while he held her.
“Della, look at what you are missing out on. Are you sure you don’t want the instructor to teach you how to fish? I promise you it will be worth your while.” Perry waggled his eyebrows at her, she looked at him in wonder and declined his offer. He thought he would change her mind when he lowered his blue eyes to her chest and back up to her hazel eyes as he teased her about what was to come tonight.
“Okay, Della. If that’s what you want to do, it’s fine with me.” During their kiss, his hands fell from her waist, and he playfully swatted her backside. He knew she would change her mind by the end of the day. Della watched Perry as he walked out to the patio and retrieved his fishing rod and tacklebox. After she put on her shoes, she met him at the front door.
“Della, I’ll be at the dock if you need anything.” He told her and opened the door.
“Okay Perry. I’ll make lunch later, and you have fun.” Della replied as he exited the cabin and walked to the dock.
At the dock, Perry looked out at the lake and noticed bubbles out on the water. He placed the tacklebox beside his chair where he sat down, opened the bait box, and prepared his hooks. Perry cast his line into the water and watched his bobber in the water before something gently tugged on the line, and he slowly reeled it in. As time slowly ticked away, he sat in his chair until he thought he had a bite. He quickly reeled it in on the snag, and to his surprise, he caught a rainbow trout which he kept. He strung it on his fish stringer and placed it back into the water.
While Della walked around the area of the cabin, she noticed large oak trees and huge boulders in the area. She stayed on the trail until she heard rustling in the nearby bushes. Since she wasn’t sure about what it could be, she slowly approached a squirrel that was forging for food but he quickly scampered off into the forest. She heard the wildlife as she continued to venture around the perimeter. When she turned around, a red fox trotted away from her. Since she lost track of time, her stomach reminded her that it was time for lunch, and she returned to the cabin. Della made a mental note that Perry was still fishing at the dock and wanted to surprise him.
“Perry, are you joining me for lunch?” Della quietly spoke so she wouldn’t startle him.
“Yes. Do you want some pointers from the expert?” He proudly cast his line and showed his skills to her.
Perry remained quiet for a few minutes while Della stood close to him observing his hand movements and how quickly he reeled in his lure. As Della continued to watch him, she noticed one thing that could be the problem and cleared her throat which made him turn his head to look at her.
“Perry, you’re doing it all wrong. You can’t reel in your line like that. How are the fish supposed to spot that lure if you reel like that?”
“Della, I’ve been doing this for years, and I still catch some fish. That’s how I was taught. I thought you didn’t want to learn how to fish.”
“I don’t, Perry, but I’m hungry.”
When she turned to walk back to the cabin, Perry took the opportunity and grabbed her elbow before he pulled her back towards him. Since she wasn’t sure what Perry was doing, she turned her head to the side as he held his rod still in his hand.
“Okay, Chief, teach me how to fish.” Della insisted when the wind blew an errant curl on her brow.
“It’s amazingly simple. Place the bait or lure on the hook but be careful because you don’t want to stick yourself with that nasty prong at the end. Once you push that button, release your line when you cast out the reel, and the hook will drop into the water. All you need to do is wait until you get a bite on your bobber and reel it in towards you. You will either snag a fish or debris thus the waiting game begins.” He gently held her waist when she took the rod from his hand.
“Perry, don’t you find this boring? Seriously, what kind of fun is this?” Della asked when she looked back at him.
“It really isn’t boring. Fishing doesn’t take a lot of energy, nor is it stressful. All that is required is patience, and right now it’s neither boring nor stressful because I have my beautiful wife in my arms.” With no space between them, he chuckled in her ear after she reeled in her line and cast it back into the lake.
She cast the line out again as he guided her hand and steadied the rod. She relaxed into his embrace. Suddenly, there was a sharp tug on her line, and Perry jerked the line when he steadied her reel and began to reel in her catch as it fought the line. Perry wasn’t letting Della lose this big victory catch; however, while Perry pulled on the line, the harder it fought against them.
“Perry, this is a huge fish!”
“Della, I’m sure of it! Either we keep reeling it in, or it will get away! Hold the reel steady!” Perry excitedly told her as he steadied her hand and held the line with her.
While he stood behind Della, Perry tugged on the line and struggled momentarily to keep a grip on the rod before he hauled in a massive trout. The trout was the biggest one that Perry had ever caught since he had been fishing at the lake with his father. He considered it a win for both when the fish dangled at the end of the line.
“Perry, its huge! Are you tossing it back into the lake?” Della looked at their victory catch while Perry held it up on the hook.
“It is your choice, Della. After all, ‘we’ caught it, and you assisted me with reeling it in. Because you are the student, and I’m the teacher; I have no say.” Perry waited on her response about their catch before he placed it on his fish stringer. He knelt and pulled up his stringer from the water. He showed her the trout he already caught earlier. After Della pondered her choices, she finally approached him, and he knew the answer when he noticed the expression on her face and in her eyes.
“Perry, we should release it, and let it live another day so it can reproduce strong offspring and pass on its genes.” Della softly spoke to him while Perry remained on one knee and looked at his fish that they fought so hard to catch.
“Is that what you want, Della? I’ll set it free, but remember it was our first catch and release.” Perry mumbled under his breath in disappointment. He removed the hook from the fish’s mouth and released it back into the water. It quickly swam away from the dock and disappeared into the vast depths of the lake water.
Della walked to the edge of the dock and watched the fish as the water splashed onto the surface. Although she was glad that the massive fish would live to see another day, deep down she knew Perry was disappointed because she thought it was the right thing to do. While Perry watched his prize catch disappear, he eyed Della as she looked at the water. A slight breeze came and blew her curls askew. She noticed Perry had packed up his tacklebox and carried his reel in one hand before he joined her at the edge of the dock.
“Della, I’m calling it a day.” Perry stated in a defeated tone.
“Come on Perry. I’ll fix our lunch, and then we can relax. Maybe play a board game or a card game?” Della’s voice was low, and she gave him the bedroom eyes that he all knew too well.
“Della, does that include strip poker!” He asked her when she turned and walked away from him. He quickly followed her.
Della walked into the kitchen and made sandwiches for the both of them before she placed the potato chips on the kitchen table. Perry carried his tacklebox and rod to the patio and placed them in the shed before he carried his fish that dangled on his stringer into the kitchen and put them on ice for dinner later that evening. Della looked at his catch while he filled a pot with ice to store the fish until later.
“That’s our dinner for tonight, Della.” Perry carefully placed the two fish on ice before he washed up and came back for lunch.
After they had their lunch, Della looked at the book shelves. She found a few board games and playing cards that were tucked away in one of the cabinet drawers. Once Perry finished his soda, he caught Della rummaging through the items. He surprised her when he placed his hand above her head while she looked for entertainment for them.
“Della, what are you looking for? How about we camp out tonight surrounded by nature’s wildlife?” Perry waited for her answer while she pulled out a deck of playing cards and a checker’s board.
“Perry, you are living dangerously. What if a bear or cougar comes along? What are we going to do, Counselor?” Della turned around and leaned back against the cabinet as he invaded her space and placed one arm beside her head.
“My father has a shotgun, along with the ammunition, stashed away in the closet. Della, you have nothing to worry about because I can manage a rifle just like I can a fishing rod.” He passionately kissed her, and when she wrapped her arms behind his head, she dropped the board game but held onto the playing cards. Upon hearing the loud thud, Perry gasped for breath, looked down at the discarded checker board, and gazed at her.
“Della, are we camping out tonight and playing strip poker? You can watch while I set up the tent.” He pecked her lips before he walked back outside to pitch the tent.
Camping was new to her, but it was first time for everything. Being with Perry, she might enjoy it just as she did when he taught her how to fish earlier that day. She laughed at herself overthinking of the worst-case scenarios if she went camping. Perry assured her that he would protect her if any danger lurked about and he would have a gun at the ready.
Behind the cabin in a small clearing between two large oak trees, Perry set up the tent. He positioned the poles at the site as Della walked out and lent a helping hand. They worked together, and the tent was standing in a matter of minutes. Perry pulled the zipper down, opened the flap, and entered the tent. When Della peeked inside, she noticed it was roomy enough for both and clicked her tongue in astonishment when it didn’t buckle.
“Come on in, Della. I need to get a few supplies before we settle in for the evening.”
Della gently pulled the tent cover back watched as Perry straightened the lower half of the tent and propped it up with a pole. When he turned and looked at her, he could tell she was concerned about their safety. After Perry approached her, he placed his hand on her shoulder and reassured her that it would be fine.
Della sighed thinking what harm it would be to sleep out under the stars and listen to nature. Perry found a flashlight and replaced the batteries before he returned to the tent. Della emerged from the tent and straightened her posture once she observed Perry carrying the flashlight in one hand and small axe in his other hand.
“Della, I am going to find small branches and fallen tree limbs for our campfire tonight. Care to join me? You can watch your husband being all manly while he is chopping wood and heaving an axe over his shoulder.” Perry told her after he placed the flashlight on the ground and held the axe in his large hand before he perched it on his broad shoulder.
Della walked up to him and placed her arms around his neck. When she was mere inches from his lips she whispered, “Chief, what are you waiting for? Get to work.” She spoke in a bossy tone, but he knew she was teasing him. He walked to the shaded area and picked up fallen branches. She kept her distance but followed close behind him as he worked.
Della loved to see him in action outside the court room and in their bedroom. She smiled to herself and joined him in collecting the wood debris for the evening. The afternoon began to wane while they busied themselves stacking their wood. Perry turned around to notice that Della disappeared from his view only to spot her walking toward the cabin. He quit working only to watch her walk up the small incline to the steps and wiped the sweat off his brow. He removed his shirt in one quick movement and tossed it on the ground and continued with his task. Meanwhile Della made lemonade and dropped ice into the glass pitcher and took two glasses from the cabinet and found a small serving tray.
Della returned to find Perry still stacking wood with his back towards her and noticed he removed his shirt. Her heart skipped a beat while she quietly approached him while he slowly stacked the remaining wood. He turned around and noticed her observing him from afar. Although Perry was not the average, muscular man with a six pack of abs, he was the complete package in Della’s eyes. Perry carried his husky frame proudly on his broad shoulders and strong legs. Della almost dropped her serving tray when he met her gaze. After Perry smiled at her, he dropped the axe beside the wood pile and walked over to her. He picked up his discarded shirt and draped it over the tent when Della approached him with the cool drink.
“Perry, I brought you some fresh lemonade.” Della handed him a glass and he quickly drank it.
“Thank you, Della. I am almost done here, and this should be enough for this evening and tomorrow.” He stepped into her space and poured more lemonade from the pitcher.
She watched him pour the liquid into his glass before she sat down the tray on the nearby stump. Della gazed at his hair wet from sweating profusely, his unkempt appearance was turning her on. She didn’t know how long she would be able to control herself around him.
Perry finished his lemonade and showed her his dimples. Della blushed slightly and sat down with their empty glasses along with the serving tray. Perry took her hand in his pulled her against his sweaty skin in a fit of laughter. Della wrinkled her nose at his unpleasant odor and smacked his forearms before he claimed her lips in a heated lip lock. When he wrapped his arms around her waist, she broke the kiss and giggled at him.
“Perry!” Della laughed at him while he held her in his arms and wouldn’t let her go.
“What? I have been a sweaty mess in the bedroom, and you never complained.” He eyed her up and down before he grasped her bottom in his hands. As Della leaned back into his arms, she felt his erection come to life. She thought to herself if he could tease her, she could too. She seductively played his game and rubbed her knee against his inner thigh which halted his movement.
“You are right, Perry. I have never complained in the bedroom, but you are outside working up a sweat.” She angled her head and saw that he opened and closed his eyes when she caressed the bulge in his shorts.
“Della, please explain to me why it is different? With every lovemaking session that we have, there are two able bodies that are both mingled with sweat. Isn’t that the same?” He argued and gripped her bottom even tighter.
“First, we are in our bedroom, and it’s not filthy or woodsy. Secondly, I am turned on after we have a heavy make out session, Perry. The smell of our mingled excrements is a testament of our love we share together.” Della kissed him and tried to keep her distance from his heaving chest before he closed the space between them and pulled her towards him again. He Ignored her request to keep the distance from her and held her tight in his arms until she relented. He slowly lifted her off the ground, and, when Della noticed she couldn’t feel the ground underneath her, she opened her eyes.
Perry held her up into the air as her shirt rose a few inches above her shorts. He tickled her with his nose before he kissed her while he held her up in the air. She squirmed until she had enough of his horseplay and breathlessly called out his name.
“Perry, put me down!” She giggled as she called out his name, and he loved seeing how helpless she looked. He smiled and held her up in the air like a trophy. He slowly placed her feet on the ground and looked smugly at her.
“Della, you wanted me all manly and outdoorsy, and you have a full show. If you prefer, I can stop being rugged.” He embraced her with his strong arms before he glanced down at her chest and her glistening hazel eyes.
Suddenly, he straightened up and lifted her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. In a fit of frustration, she smacked his waist. While Della dangled in his hold, Perry cleared his throat again and spoke to her loudly.
“My wife doesn’t like her husband being all manly and outdoorsy also doesn’t like fishing either. What am I going to do with you, Della? After she accompanied me to the cabin, she showed off her skills as a beginner and crushed her semi-pro fishing husband.” Perry complained, and he chuckled when she slapped him on his rear.
“Perry, let me down, or you’ll be sleeping alone tonight.” Della dangled from his shoulder upside down.
“Say it, Della! I’m the best semi-pro fisher ….” He pegged her while he showed no sign of putting her down.
“Okay! Perry, you are the best semi-pro fisher that I know. Now, put me down!” She yelled at him, and he obeyed her.
When she regained her composure and brushed the errant curls from her brow, she spoke to him. She flirted with him with her bedroom eyes since she knew that he would obey her as she seduced him. He knew she was teasing by the tone of her voice and the wanton look in her eyes.
“Chief, when you are a hot, sticky, and sweaty from the outdoors, please keep your distance.” He released her but with a quick slap on her bottom, and she cried out from the slap.
Della took the serving tray back to the cabin with an extra sway of her hips before she looked over her shoulder at Perry, who with his growing erection, became more uncomfortable by the minute. He watched her disappear into the cabin and finished chopping the last bit of wood.

Perry wiped the sweat from his brow before he tossed the axe onto the ground and walked towards the cabin. In the meantime, Della placed the vegetables on the table while the fish laid on the ice. As she searched for parchment paper or aluminum foil, the front door opened and shut before Perry calmly walked into the kitchen and watched her open and shut the cabinet drawers.
“Della, what are you looking for?” Perry asked her with his arms over his bare chest as he admired the site before him. She straightened up as he slowly approached her.
“Perry, is there is any foil or parchment paper in any of the cabinets? I can’t find any because I wanted to wrap the fish in the foil after you cleaned it.” She asked as she admired his unkempt appearance.
“I believe it’s in this cabinet right here.” Perry told her as he reached above her and took the parchment paper and foil which he placed in front of her before she turned around and looked at him with desire in her hazel eyes. He had seen that look before and knew she wanted--him.
“I’ll clean the fish out on the patio.” Perry replied while he washed his hands in the sink and dried his hands on the dish towel.
“Okay, I’ll wash the vegetables and leave them on the table until your ready to grill the fish.” Della placed the bowl under the faucet and rinsed the vegetables.
Perry walked outside with a cutting board and his knife for gutting the fish, and within minutes, he finished his task. He was a perfectionist when it came to their food. Della peeked out the window as he cut the fish with precision and was turned on when he showed his outdoors skills. Once Perry placed the innards of the fish onto the plate, he discarded the remnants to the furthest side of the woods for the wild animals. Della nervously bit her lower lip as he slowly walked to the patio with the empty plate.
Perry observed her with a concerned look on her face when he approached her with the empty plate. He carried the fish inside and placed them on ice until he was ready to cook them on the grill.
“What’s the matter Della?” Perry asked while he washed his hands at the sink and looked over at her.
“Is it safe to toss the fish remains in the woods? Could a predator come along and make its home here after finding that tasty morsel?” Della leaned against the counter while Perry dried his hands.
“Wild animals are all around us, Della. If the ants don’t carry it off, something bigger will eat it. This is a wildlife haven here so don’t be afraid.” Perry informed her. As he sweated profusely, his chest glistened with a thin sheen, and Della couldn’t resist him any longer.
She closed her eyes to conceal her excitement with his closeness to her. Without hesitation, she surprised him when she flung her arms around his neck and kissed him feverishly. He lifted her onto the edge of the counter while he kissed her neck. He lifted her shirt over her head and revealed her silk bra. He palmed her breast with his large hands and noticed her disheveled appearance when she caressed his damp hair.
“Della, what has gotten into you? When we were outside, you wanted nothing to do with me, and now….” Perry asked while he lowered one bra strap with his finger before he slid the other strap down her shoulder. He fumbled with the short’s button and unclasped it while she kissed his face. With his thumb, he felt the dampness from her silky panty, and when he teased her, she moaned against his lips.
“Perry, I want you so bad right now.” She seductively whispered into his ear.
“In that case, I’ll rid myself of dirt and grime before I spend time with my beautiful wife.” After he growled into the crook of her neck, he picked her up into his arms and carried her down the hallway towards the bathroom.
While he rid himself of his clothing, she quickly undressed before she stepped over the brim of the tub and joined him. She found the newly opened bar of soap on the ledge and lathered it into her hands. The water ran over his heated flesh while she worked his muscles with the foamy soap in her palms.
The massaging sensation of her delicate hands relaxed him under her touch. She washed his leg muscles with the thick lather before she moved back up to his chest where she lightly scratched him. When she reached his groin area, she paid special attention and twirled her hand around the base of his penis. He opened his eyes and lathered the soap in his large palms, turned her around, and washed her back. The water rinsed her back off while he washed her front and caressed her chest, thighs, calves, and feet. She automatically turned around so that he could map the contour of her back and shoulders while the water washed over them.
She grabbed a handful of his wet hair and pulled him in for a slow, passionate kiss. He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly in an embrace while his aching erection prodded her thigh for attention too. He nipped at her lips and grabbed her bottom in his hands. She dug her fingernails into his shoulders when he pressed her against the shower wall for leverage. He picked up her leg and positioned himself before he slowly entered her wet heat. She gasped at the sensation and kissed him hard on the mouth while he thrusted into her. After she broke their heated kiss, she whispered softly into his ear before he slowly withdrew and entered her again with ease.
He held her by the waist when she started to clench her vaginal walls around his shaft, he sped up his movement and bumped her clit over and over. She cried out his name as she came. With shaky legs, he held her against the shower wall and thrusted into her core before he climaxed inside of her. He bit her shoulder and neck and claimed her as she orgasmed. He turned off the faucet and loved that they had christened the bathroom in his father’s cabin. He chuckled before he lowered his mouth and captured her lips with his.
“Perry, why are you laughing?” She kissed the side of his head and held him close to her as his breathing calmed.
“Della, we have just christened the cabin’s shower.” Perry whispered against her chest and looked up at her. They held each other until his limp penis slipped out of her, and she gasped at the loss. He pulled back the shower curtain and grabbed two towels.
“Perry, I know how you feel now when I wear perfume in the office, and you can’t keep your hands off me. I saw the smoldering looks you give me since you were too busy with clients.” Della’s seductive tone piqued his attention. As she dried her hair in front of the mirror, he walked up behind her and dried his hair with a towel.
“When you wore that floral perfume, you walked in and out of my office all day with that smirk on your luscious mouth because I had the primal urge to bend you over the desk.” He growled in her ear and playfully nuzzled his nose into the crook of her neck.
Perry walked into the bedroom and found a pair of khaki shorts and a t- shirt. While he was dressing, Della walked in on him and looked for an outfit in her suitcase. After she picked out a low-cut t-shirt and khaki shorts, Perry went into the kitchen and prepared the fish for the grill. Once he dressed the fish and added the seasonings, Della appeared in the kitchen, and his mouth agape and eyes on her chest, Perry did a double take. Della slyly grinned and noticed Perry still hadn’t moved since she entered the kitchen. She was going on a short hike now before they ate dinner.
“Counselor, are you going to start the grill or just stand there?” Della teased him with a wink. He walked out to the patio and carefully lit the fire under the grill.
“Perry, do you want wine, beer, or soda with the fish?” Della asked when she looked over her shoulder at him before she walked into the kitchen.
“I’ll have a cold beer. It will go well with the fish.” Perry called out to her while he positioned the wood at base of the grill.
In the meantime, Perry tossed a few logs into the base as the fire grew and he covered it with the lid. He joined Della in the kitchen for a moment and grabbed her hand before she reached the handle on the fridge. With a surprised look in her eyes, she relaxed in his arms while he held her.
“Let’s hike up the trail while the fire heats up the grill.” Perry asked while he massaged her lower back.
“Yes, I would love too.” Della beamed up at him and took his hand in hers.
During their hike, Perry and Della walked hand in hand up the trail that was behind the cabin. Some chipmunks scurried on the trail while two hawks flew above them. Della admired the birds’ wing span as they searched for their prey. Perry carefully surveyed the path for any slithering snakes and other predators along the way. While they enjoyed the peaceful scenery, nothing out of the ordinary stopped them on their hike. They trekked up another winding turn and observed a small clearing that had a pristine look of the lake with the mountains in the background. Della stepped closer to the edge of the clearing as Perry looked out into the openness. While he kept a keen eye on her, he pulled her to his side and draped his arm over her shoulder.
“Perry, this is beautiful, and I’m in awe of the natural habitat up here.” She looked out at the vast scenery before she returned her attention to him.
“Yes, it really is. Are you ready for dinner, Della? I’m sure the grill is hot now.” Perry whispered as she admired the landscape.
“Yes, Perry. I’m sure the fish is precured by now, and hopefully, the cook will not burn our food.” Della lightheartedly teased him and walked away. He hurried down the trail and caught up with her before he pulled her to his side and walked down the trial side by side.
Upon their arrival at the cabin, Perry entered the kitchen, took the fish out to the grill, and cooked them while Della brought the beer out onto the patio and placed them on the table and while Perry grilled their food, and the scent from the fish filled the air when the breeze carried the odor into the wind. Perry turned over the fish and grilled the other side. As Della sat down in the lounge chair and watched Perry cook on the grill, a movement from the nearby shrub caught her eye. Her breath hitched in her throat in surprise.
When the white fur appeared and disappeared into the forest, she felt relieved. As she watched for any additional danger, she quietly walked over to Perry at the grill. When she joined him, he smiled at her until he saw the nervous look in her eye and wondered what happened.
“Della, what’s the matter?” Perry inquired while he placed the cooked fish on the plate.
“I saw some movement over there in the woods, and it was big, furry, and white. Perry, I’m serious. It came out of nowhere.” Della whispered to him.
“Della, it’s gone now, and don’t worry about it. If it had wanted to attack us, it would have, and I’m sure it came for the food. Relax and enjoy your meal. No need to worry anymore.” Perry reassured her.
During their meal, Perry kept a watchful eye for any lurking danger and heard the coyotes along the ridgeline. Della placed the dirty plates into the kitchen sink while Perry enjoyed his beer on the patio. While Della cleaned up in the kitchen, Perry remained outside in his chair with his hands behind his head. She walked back into the den, found the deck of playing cards, and placed them on the table so she would not forget about them. Della rejoined Perry on the patio and sat in her chair.
The birds chirped loudly, and rustling could be heard nearby, but Della didn’t think anything of it. When she opened her eyes, she saw the same white blur that she spotted earlier and quietly observed the animal. It was a rare, white wolf that appeared from the wooded forest. Della cautiously watched the animal sniff the ground in search of food and ate the scraps that Perry had tossed earlier. It walked away from the area without a threat to them. Without looking back, the wolf disappeared into the throng of trees. Della scrunched her brow and nervously looked over at Perry, who was still resting in his chair.
Several hours had passed from the time Della saw the wolf until the sun had set behind the hilly terrain. She looked over at Perry, who was still asleep and slowly rose from her chair and walked into the cabin. When Perry entered the cabin, Della emerged from the bathroom and grabbed his hand.
“Perry, I saw a white wolf out there while you were asleep.” Della’s voice was unsettled.
“Your overacting, Della. If it was a threat to us, it sure would have attacked us for our fish dinner. Relax, it’s gone now. Try to enjoy our weekend, and not worry.” Perry kissed her lips and walked to the bedroom as she watched him.
With only lamp lights at their campsite, darkness surrounded them. Della placed the graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bar on the serving tray while Perry tossed a few more logs into the growing campfire. The crickets chirped in the darkness, and a lone owl hooted high above the trees before it flew away. Della made her snack while Perry reached for his chocolate bar, marshmallow, and graham cracker. He held it over the fire, and within minutes, the marshmallow melted on his skewer stick before he placed it on his graham cracker and chocolate. While he let the sticky marshmallow melt, he looked over at Della, who was already enjoying her s’mores. As Perry consumed his sweet treat, she licked the chocolate off her finger.
Her skin glowed from the fire, and Perry watched her as she slowly arose from her seat. She unzipped the flap and entered the tent. The stars twinkled in the sky, and full moon appeared from behind the broken clouds. Meanwhile, Della straightened out the blankets in the tent before she joined Perry on the log. She placed her hand on his thigh as she sat down beside him.
Della looked up into the sky and watched the stars twinkle and Perry noticed a shooting star falling from sky.
“Della, look up! There’s a shooting star!” Perry excitedly pointed towards the falling star.
“Perry, if you wish upon that star, it will bring you good luck.” Della leaned closer to him.
“Okay, let me think. I have one.” Perry called out while he turned his head in Della’s direction.
“Was your wish about me, Perry or for something that we want?” Della smiled at him before she made another s’more.
“If I tell you, it won’t come true, Della.” Perry brushed her hand away from the s’more that she had made and took from her. In retaliation, Della nudged him with her knee and took a mouthful of the s’more that he just stole from her hand. When the half-eaten graham cracker and chocolate melted on the side of his finger, Della licked the chocolate off his finger until it was clean.
Della gazed into Perry’s eyes as the campfire illuminated his dark facial features and leaned back from him while she enjoyed the sweet treat. Perry’s eyes grew dark in passion as he leaned forward and kissed her passionately on the lips. He grabbed her waist and pulled her against him, but she resisted him. He knew she was playing hard to get. When she snipped his bottom lip, he released her mouth. When he pulled back from her, her doe eyes stared at him and a girlish smile appeared on her lips. He knew she was up to some mischievousness.
“Perry, are we still on for that strip poker?” She teasingly toyed with the open collar of his shirt before she stood up.
“You better believe it, Della.” He growled at her when she disappeared behind the flap of the tent, and quickly followed after her.

Present Day
“I couldn’t help myself after you invited me to play strip poker because of wanton gaze you gave me.” Perry pulled her closer to him when he shifted his body on the couch.
“Counselor, you were the one that insisted we played poker.” Della lovingly caressed his forearm and looked up at him as he leaned down and kissed her.
“You couldn’t help yourself Della.” He jokingly replied as his laugh jostled her.
“Perry, it was a draw, and we both lost our shirts along with other things!” Della’s laughter filled the room while Perry sighed heavily and watched the fire dance against the logs as Della reminded him of what transpired.
“I shuffled the deck, and you had that look of wonder in your eyes like I had a secret trick which I hadn’t, and I didn’t cheat.” When Della caressed his stomach, Perry reached for her hand and kissed it before he looked at her with adoration.
“Go on, Della; I’m listening.” He looked at her a suspiciously with a twinkle in his blue eyes.
Perry’s facial expressions at Della as she shuffled the cards was almost her undoing. He watched her as she managed to shuffle the deck and finally delt the cards to him. She placed the deck of cards in front of them. When she looked over her cards, she knew she had a winning hand. She looked over the brim of the cards and studied Perry’s expression. She thought she had lost this round, but she found out that luck was on her indeed on her side.
“Della it’s your turn.” Perry eyed her after she placed her discarded card in front of him and pulled another card from the deck.
Perry intently watched as she picked up the new card and sucked on her bottom lip. When she looked over at him with a poker face and didn’t reveal her card, she sat back down with her legs tucked under her. Meanwhile, Perry anxiously traded a low card for another one before he fanned out his cards. With a brave smile, he sighed in relief and cleared his throat.
“Perry, are you ready to lose?” She teased him as a smile played on her lips.
“Della, I’ll bet my shirt. Call it!” Perry eyed her suspiciously, and she fanned out her hand.
“Perry, looks like you lost. Take it off or I take it off for you.” Della demanded, and he obliged to her request.
She knew that he was a good sport when he tossed his shirt aside without a blink of an eye. He abruptly stilled her hands and took the deck of cards from her and looked at every card to see if she secretly folded a card or two to get the ante on him. He saw no indication of cheating and handed the deck back to her with a grin on his face.
“Della, I checked the deck of cards because I wanted to be sure that you didn’t bend the high cards.” Perry accused her in a low growl, and she tilted her head at him before she shuffled the deck in front of him.
As minutes passed by, Perry sat in his boxers while Della’s shirt was gone and was only clad in silk bra and panties. Seated across from her, he shifted his weight as she teased him while the low glow from the lamp illuminated her the inside the tent. He wasn’t losing the last bit of dignity as his wife shuffled another hand. He reached across and took the cards from her hand. She looked at him with surprise in her eyes.
“Perry! You know I won the game. You think that you can win now?” Della reached over and removed the deck back from his hand. When his palm brushed the underside of her breasts, she gasped. He pulled her onto his lap and passionately kissed her. She wrapped her arms behind his neck, and he firmly held her waist.
“Della, I’m sorry, but this game is over. You knew that I wouldn’t last long without touching you.” He chuckled into her ear before he lowered his head into the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent.
“Chief, I didn’t expect you to lose so early into the game. I clearly won, and you know it.” Della teased him by whispering into his ear. He quickly turned the tables on her when he lowered her to the ground looked at her flushed appearance. Her feet slowly stroked the lower half of his body as he settled between her open thighs.
“Della, I never lose, especially when it comes to you, and that’s why I married you.” He didn’t wait for her to response and claimed her mouth in a heated kiss before she surrendered to his advances on her body.
When he kissed her chest through the fabric, she arched against his mouth as he touched her inner thigh. He slowly moved his palm up her body and removed the offending garment from her shoulders. She scratched his broad shoulders while he removed her bra and claimed one pert nipple into his mouth before he palmed the other. He slowly moved down her torso and peeled off her silk panty. In a frenzied state, Della impatiently reached for the button on his boxers and slid them down his body. Although they were in a confined area, it was little strenuous on her part because she didn’t want to collapse the tent. With careful and steady hands, both were now naked in the middle of the woods.
“Della, slow down we have all night.” Perry whispered against her heated flesh and kissed her breast.
“Perry, you forgot that we are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wildlife and dangerous predators, too.” Della rolled him over and straddled his chest.
“The only predator that I’m looking at right now, is you, Della.” He intertwined his hands with hers before she leaned into his space and kissed him thoroughly, which left him breathless. She lightly nipped his ear and leaned back on his chest when his mouth found her breast. He lavished the pert bud between his tongue, and she moaned. After he released her sensitive bud, she scratched his overheated flesh with her fingernails, and he grabbed her hips and stopped her from venturing any further. When he placed his palms on her hips, she looked at him with hooded eyelids and a smirk on her lips.
As he stroked her upper thighs, Della knew that he wanted to last during their lovemaking session. She relented and leaned down within inches of his lips as her own body betrayed her. He desired her sweetness that dripped from between her thighs and dipped one finger into her wet core before slowly withdrawing. Della sucked on her lip as he slowly entered his finger again into her core before she reopened her eyes. She observed him licking her juices from his finger. The slow tease of his palms that roamed all over her body was extra sensual to the point she needed her own release.
“Perry….” She whimpered his name in a whisper which caused him to place an openmouthed kiss on her chest. She placed her palms on his shoulders, leaned down, and captured his mouth in a passionate kiss. He wrapped his arms around her, rolled her beneath him so that he was poised to enter her wetness. He didn’t have to answer her request because he already knew what she desired, and he could not wait any longer. He slowly entered her with ease, and she gasped at the sensation from his girth. She clawed his shoulders as he paused briefly before he closed his mouth over hers to silence her moans. While they made slow passionate love to each other, little be-known a surprise had been stalking the area, and it was an adolescent black bear that had passed by the area in search of food. The scent of the fish cooking on the grill and the fire caused the curious creature to make noise through the wooded forest and stumbled upon the unsuspected couple who were in the throes of passion.
The bear sniffed the air and walked past the cabin. The branches cracked under its heavy weight and he growled as human scent filled its nostrils. While Perry and Della made love, she moaned when he lowered his mouth to her juncture of her thighs, licked at her entrance, and delved his velvet tongue into her warmth. He lapped at her until she pulled his thick hair and scratched his scalp with her fingers which urged him on to continue. Della’s ears perked up when she heard growling from outside the tent. She couldn’t tell if it was Perry’s new vocal tone as he pleasured her throbbing clit. She heard the strange growl again and knew it wasn’t Perry’s but a wild animal.
“Perry….. something is outside….. I’m not kidding …..oh… God right there…. Your need to stop. Please…” Her voice trailed off when he suckled on her clit again.
“Mmmm….so good… Della, you bring the beast out in me…” He said as he gasped for air and licked his lips before he kissed her mons.
When he looked up from between her thighs, he heard rustling outside the tent along with a soft grunt. He became wide eyed and saw a large shadow illuminated from the campfire. He wanted to finish what he started but knew something was outside and quickly reached for his shotgun. Della remained quiet and motionless the best she could under the circumstances while Perry took the safety off the gun. At that moment, another growl, which puzzled them, came from the opposite direction. Was there another bear fighting for territorial rights or was it another predator?
From out the shadows, a large white wolf appeared and the fire from the campsite reflected its ominous, golden eyes that glowed in the darkness. The wolf’s snarling didn’t deter the young bear, and when the wolf approached the campsite, it circled around the bear with its hackles up on its massive shoulders. Unaware of the new threat, the young bear didn’t retreat from the lone wolf. The wolf was an experienced lone alpha and had fought many other predators. Although the bear seemed unexperienced, the wolf lashed out at him with razor sharp teeth with a low warning growl as it circled the bear. While the bear was contemplating on its move by huffing and chomping its teeth to show it was unafraid of the lone wolf. The wolf lunged for the bear with no fear and fought to protect itself and its territory.
While the commotion outside the tent got intense, Della quickly donned Perry’s oversized shirt, and he quickly put on his boxer shorts. He peaked outside the tent to see what the commotion was. He held his shotgun close to his body ready for action. When he noticed the intruders, he watched as the white wolf snarled and nipped at the young bear that had ventured onto his territory. The bear swung its huge paw and knocked the wolf down onto the ground before the bear looked in the direction of the tent. As Perry watched the bear approaching with hungry eyes and wouldn’t back down, he cocked the lever and fired a shot. With a bullet lodged in its shoulder, the angry bear roared and continued its approach to the tent.
Perry reloaded the gun again and fired at the bear. The wolf distracted the bear while Perry cocked the gun and fired another bullet. Once Perry stood up from his crouched position, he aimed the gun at the bear and shot him again directly in the chest as it stood up on its hind legs. While the bear collapsed to the ground, the white wolf looked at Perry, who stood his ground and looked at the fallen bear before he steadied the gun level with the wolf. Something stirred inside Perry like he had seen the white wolf before from another lifetime perhaps or in another realm. Perry lowered his shotgun and Della appeared from the tent to see the aftermath.
“Perry, that’s the white wolf I saw earlier.” Della whispered so she wouldn’t frighten the animal while he stared at the couple. The animal sniffed the air and watched the couple before it slowly disappeared into the forest and took a second glance at the bear.
“It must have been territorial fight between them. I know they have their disputes out in the wilderness, but that bear coming close to our tent that was too dangerous for us.” Perry told Della as he slowly approached the fallen bear.
“In the morning, I’m going to call the ranger at the station and have this bear removed from our yard, Della. Now, where were we? Oh, I remember…” He admired her body dressed in his oversized shirt.
“No, you don’t, Perry, because we are not staying out here any longer. I had enough of the wild beasts for one night.” Della playfully pushed him away before he grabbed her waist so that she wouldn’t leave him.
“I told you there was nothing to be afraid of because I had a gun and I would use it. I can do it again if you want, but, I’m the only wild beast that you can’t resist.” Perry replied.
“As a matter of fact, I think I can tame that wild beast rather sooner than later.” Della lowered her eyes to his heaving chest and palmed his semi-erect penis. He closed his eyes shut due to the sensations from her palm before she removed her hand. He opened his eyes and saw her beautiful face that glowed from the campfire, and he captured her lips with his. They passionately kissed one another before she stepped back and left the tent for their safety, and he quickly followed her.

Present Day
“Did you tame the wild beast, Della?” Perry asked before he kissed her temple.
“Chief, you would know that I tamed the beast because we’re still married.” Della snuggled against his side and stroked his thigh with her hand. They both sighed in contentment and watched as the flames danced against the logs in the fireplace.
“I know you did, Della. Please continue, I want to hear about the rest of our wild outdoor romp.” He whispered against her ear and his beard tickled her cheek which made her chuckle.
“It was a wonderful night once we returned to the cabin and away from danger, and you couldn’t keep your hands off me.” Della teased him while she caressed his forearm.
“Since I saved you from a predator, I should have been rewarded by my wife. We could have been killed, but we survived the incident.” Perry poured another glass of wine for the both of them.
“Yes, but you are forgetting one thing, Perry. The wolf distracted the bear, and if it wasn’t for him, you would have been injured or killed in the aftermath. Why didn’t you shoot him anyway?” Della took the glass from his hand and settled against the cushion of the couch.
“The way that he looked at me Della was like I had seen him before in a fleeting dream or vision. I am not sure why I didn’t shoot, but he deserved to live because he never attacked us or threatened us when we set up camp.” Perry furrowed his brow and drank his wine before he looked at Della.
“The wolf did look familiar, and I couldn’t fathom where I saw him either. However, he knew us by the way he looked at us.” Della drank her wine while Perry pondered what she said.
“So, you were saying that you tamed the beast.” Perry suspiciously eyed her and grinned at her mischievously after Della placed her glass on the coffee table and slowly inched over to him. She lowered her eyes to his mouth and back up to his darkened blue orbs.
“Yes. You knew deep down that you couldn’t take it anymore.” Della tussled his gray hair and smoothed her palm down his beard before she pinched his cheek. When he finished his wine, he pulled her towards him and kissed her on the mouth which took her by surprise, and she giggled into his ear.
“You looked sexy wearing my t-shirt and nothing else because I was practically drooling and couldn’t wait to have you in my arms.” Perry sighed with a low hum from deep down in his chest.
The tent was long forgotten after the campfire burned into the midnight while the lone wolf disappeared into the forest but remained in close proximity to the cabin. Once Della entered the kitchen, Perry quickly walked up behind her.
“Della, do you want something to drink, or do you want to finish what we started?” He waggled his eyebrows.
“Perry, I need a cold drink. After being out there and witnessing that terrifying incident, I need to relax for a moment, and then we can finish what we started.” She replied as she walked towards the kitchen. He observed her briefly before she disappeared into the kitchen, and he scratched his stubble on his cheek before he joined her.
Perry led Della to the guest room since it was furnished like the master bedroom with all the fixtures and amenities for a guest. Della looked around the room and noticed the open window. She enjoyed the breeze that blew past her face. He closed the curtain before he turned around and saw Della standing in the lamplight with his oversized shirt. Because she looked so delicate and vulnerable in his eyes, at that moment, he realized that he could have been killed, and that she could have been injured too. He was grateful that he heeded her advice and brought the shotgun to the tent with them. He also owed his life to the white wolf as well.
Perry left Della in her thoughts as she stood at the window and listened for anything that might still be in the area surrounding the cabin. Perry placed his arms around her waist and held her close to him. She leaned back against his solid frame and looked back over her shoulder while he stared out the window. Finally, Perry looked at Della, who reached for his head of hair and pulled him down for a languid kiss.
“You know that you are my good luck charm, Della. If I hadn’t listened to your advice tonight, we could have been injured or killed.” Perry whispered against her lips and she pulled back to see the seriousness in his blue eyes.
“Perry, I am glad you listened to my woman’s intuition, and I am grateful that we are unharmed. Are you going to listen to your dutiful wife and secretary more often?” Della inquired with raspy voice.
“I will take your comments into consideration, Della, because a husband must listen to his wife, and if we disagree, we will have a conversation on the subject. Am I correct?” Perry softly spoke as he caressed her lower waist where his hand slipped underneath the oversized T-shirt and felt her soft flesh.
“Perry, you look so sexy right now standing in your boxers after you saved our lives from an angry bear.” Della lowered her eyes to the bulging tent in his shorts.
As he removed the shirt, she placed her palms on his broad shoulders and pulled him forward for a kiss. When he felt her palms on his shoulders, he guided her to the bed, and sat down on the bed first. She gazed at him with love in her hazel eyes because she would remember this heroic day for the rest of her life. She straddled his lap and felt his desire for her before she kissed his face and rubbed her nose against his day-old stubble. Although Della was fully naked now, Perry was still in his boxer shorts. With a quick movement from his eager hands, Della was lying on the mattress, pulled him down into her embrace, and kissed him feverishly while his erection bobbed against her thigh. After she sighed into his ear, she nipped him with her teeth.
As they fought for dominance, Della proved superior to Perry, and she straddled him when he encircled her waist, she smoothed her palms down his chest, and seductively smiled at him with a raised eyebrow. She kissed her way down his torso, and when she brushed her nose against his ticklish spot, he jumped in response to her soft tongue. She smiled as she stroked his upper thighs and massaged his erect penis. She looked up when his breathing became erratic as she continued her slow torment on his aching member.
While she massaged his sensitive member, she watched his expression while he was at her mercy. As she lapped at the precum and stroked his thighs, the sensations became unbearable, and he clutched her head of curls with his hands and he smoothed it over while she pleasured him. As she firmly squeezed his scrotum, he moaned her name and hissed between clenched teeth. Knowing he was on the verge of insanity; she continued her slow torture until he reached for her hands that were planted on his thighs. Since Perry was on the verge of his own release, she wasn’t stopping until he called out her name.
“Della…… please…. Stop…. I need to be with you…..” He moaned breathlessly.
When she smugly looked up from between his thighs, his erect penis bobbed in the cool air, and she knew that he wanted a release. Not denying him his request, she slowly inched back up to his heaving chest and straddled him. He surprised her when he gripped her hips and she poised herself above him and braced her hands on his shoulders before he guided her onto his shaft. Once he was sheathed inside her, she gasped of being filled to the hilt, and the euphoria of becoming one with each other always felt special to them. They could be miles apart, or in another country, but nothing could replicate the feeling of being loved. He slowly caressed her lower waist and thighs as he thrusted in and out of her. When he lowered his hands and grabbed her hips, she slowly descended onto his shaft.
The sensations coursing through his body became too much when he angled her body and found her clit. When he tilted his hips at the same time and thrusted again, she screamed his name as she climaxed. He placed wet kisses along her chest and lavished her body with his tongue while her vaginal walls squeezed his penis and came hard again. She laid her head on his heaving chest and listened to his ragged breathing. Perry rolled them over and hovered above her before he placed his hand behind her head. After she moved her leg over his thigh, he slowly entered her dripping core.
The sound from their lovemaking filled the room and didn’t go unnoticed by animals that were in the vicinity. Their moans and sighs could be heard through the night with no interruptions from the wildlife roaming through the forest. Perry slowly withdrew before he reentered Della’s hot, wet core and claimed her mouth. As he thrusted into her, he bumped her overly sensitive clit repeatedly. Since he was on the brink of a climax, he thrusted into her folds and came hard. She pulled his sweat-soaked head down for a kiss while his seed covered her vaginal walls. After they broke for air, he rested his head onto her bosom, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer to her.
The couple lay in a tangled mess of limbs until an owl hooted outside the cabin, and Perry stirred against her. He looked at her sleeping form and smiled because he knew she was satisfied. She slowly opened her eyes and gazed at him. After she reached for his hand, she clasped her hand into his and rubbed his knuckles with her thumb. She closed her eyes and knew that he too was content and they both drifted off to sleep.
The morning sun peaked over the mountains as the birds chirped away. Della woke up and looked over her shoulder at Perry, who was still asleep. She yawned before she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and slowly got out of bed before she stretched her aching muscles and showered. Perry rolled over and noticed that Della had left their bed. After they showered, Della collected the bed linen and placed them in the washer while Perry notified the ranger of the fallen bear. As Perry conversed with the ranger, he inquired about mounting the bear and placing it in the cabin. Perry thought it would be a delightful surprise for his father and a fantastic addition to the cabin. While the ranger called for additional assistance to remove the bear, Perry and Della finished their breakfast. Perry disposed of the trash while Della placed the linens in the dryer and packed their clothes into their suitcase. Meanwhile, Perry carried their luggage out to the car and placed a phone call to Jerry.
Della made the bed while Perry locked up the outdoor building and rejoined her in the bedroom. He watched as she struggled with the down comforter, and he tucked it under the bed with ease. He eyed her lovely figure as her summer dress showed off her frame. Della glanced at his appearance, which consisted of casual dark slacks and matching shirt. She knew that they would be visiting his parents upon their return to Los Angeles.
“Della, the pilot is meeting us in an hour. Are you ready to go? Although you didn’t get a chance to tidy up before we left, I’m sure my father would have appreciated it. He’ll be surprised when he sees a bear mounted inside the cabin.” Perry closed the curtains before he turned around to see her smiling at him.
“I’m sure he will be surprised, Perry.” Della walked over to him, placed her arms behind his neck and passionately kissed him before he deepened the kiss which left her breathless.

Mason’s Estate
Elizabeth and Alexander had settled in for the afternoon while the server’s fixed dinner after Elizabeth informed them that there would be two more guests for dinner. As Alexander read the newspaper, the doorbell chimed before the butler answered the door and revealed Perry and Della, who were their guests for the evening.
“Perry and Della, it’s so nice to see you again, and your parents are expecting you for dinner.” He greeted them and closed the door behind them.
With his hand on her lower back, Perry and Della walked through the foyer until Elizabeth hugged Perry and turned her attention to Della, who hugged her.
“Perry, it’s so good to see you. Della, did you enjoy the cabin?” His mother inquired.
“Yes, It was wonderful.” Della beamed while Perry gazed at her with a twinkle in his eyes.
“Yes, it was wonderful.” Perry cleared his throat and handed the key to his mother as his father walked into the foyer and greeted them.
“Son, it’s good to see you and Della again. How was your weekend at the cabin? I hoped that the wildlife didn’t scare you because those creatures are abundance up there.” He gestured toward the dining room area, and they followed him.
“It was great, and of course, the wild animals were out and about in the forest.” Perry grinned and pulled Della’s chair while the servers placed their food on the table.
While the couple ate their meal, Elizabeth nudged Alexander and gave him a knowing look which prompted him to speak up. After his father cleared his throat, he looked at his wife and spoke.
“Perry, I’m sorry that I canceled our fishing trip, and I want to make it up to you. We should go up to the cabin in a month so mark your calendar for a weekend full of fishing. The ladies can spruce up the cabin along with getting away from the hustle and bustle. How about it, Della?” Alexander raised his eyebrow before he looked over at his wife who was beaming.
“Sounds like a good idea, Della, since you wanted to return to the cabin.” Perry leaned into her space, and when his knee brushed her thigh, she blushed.
“Of course, Perry. I would love it, and I’ll free our calendar for that weekend.” Della replied.
“It’s all set then.” Alexander boasted and looked over at his son and daughter in law.
After the four weeks went by without any cancellations; the driver assisted the Masons with their luggage for the weekend. Perry’s car came into view as he drove through the estate gates, and he insisted that he would follow his parents to the airport. Because there weren’t any issues during their flight, they arrived at the cabin earlier than expected. As they admired the landscaping around the cabin, the driver carried the suitcases from the car and followed the Masons into the cabin.
While Alexander was quite surprised by the mounted bear in the den, Elizabeth thought added a bit of charm to the cabin. During his walk around the yard, Alexander checked for any disturbances to the landscaping while the driver helped with the provisions inside the cabin. Elizabeth walked into the master bedroom and unpacked their clothes. When she heard a car door shut, she looked out the window and saw her Perry and Della. Elizabeth walked into the guest room and tidied up when something from under the bed caught her eye. With a curious look, Alexander appeared in the doorway and wondered why his wife paused. When she knelt down, she giggled as she pulled a silk panty from underneath the bed along with the matching bra.
“I see those two had fun while they were here.” Elizabeth raised her eyebrow and looked at her husband who blushed and chuckled half-heartedly before he greeted them at the front door.
“Elizabeth, Perry and Della are here!” He called out to his wife who joined them with a knowing smile on her lips. Perry’s smile brought out his boyish dimples when he placed his hand on Della’s lower waist.
“Well, I am still unpacking our clothes, Alexander.” Elizabeth turned around and walked to their bedroom.
“Perry, we need to get out on the lake before the best spot is taken.” His eagerly told his son, and Della was left alone with her mother-in-law.
The driver carried Perry and Della’s suitcases into the cabin, and he returned to the car and retrieved his own suitcase. When Della took their suitcases to the guest room, she remembered the night they made passionate love. After she closed her eyes and smiled to herself, Elizabeth quietly walked into the guest room and found Della in deep thought. When she touched her elbow, it startled her, but she realized it wasn’t Perry but his mother who looked at her with concern in her eyes.
“Della, are you feeling, okay?” She asked after she joined her in the room and studied Della’s expression.
“I’m fine. I know it was four weeks ago, but I have fallen in love with this place.” Della told her as she unpacked their suitcases.
“When Alexander bought this place, it was a fixer upper, and he put a lot of love into the place. Although we have our estate, this place is very relaxing for us. Fishing was the top priority upon Alexander’s arrival, and he pulled Perry away to go with him once he entered the cabin.” She opened the curtains before she looked back at Della, who had unpacked their clothes.
“I’ll finish unpacking our suitcases too.” She squeezed Della’s shoulder and walked to her room. On her way to her room, she met the driver in the foyer as he walked to his room at the end of the hallway.
The day was uneventful for Della and her mother-in-law as they talked and moved around the kitchen. They prepared the hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill before Perry and his father, who would be hungry when they returned from fishing. While Elizabeth gathered all the utensils, Della made fresh lemonade, and when she looked out the window, she observed Perry and his father walking back towards the cabin with some fish dangling from their hooks. Della turned around and placed the pitcher on the table after the front door opened and shut.
“We caught a few trout out on the lake. I can’t believe our luck today!” Alexander boasted before he kissed his wife on her cheek and looked over at Della, who smiled at his excitement.
“If I do say so myself, Dad, our lures where eye catching which helped us with our catch.” Perry joined in the conversation and noticed that the food was ready for the grill. He lovingly gazed at Della until his parents cleared their throats, and his mother spoke up.
“As you can see, Della and I were busy, and now we are going outside to grill this food for dinner. Perry, start the fire under the grill while I ask Lou if he would like to join us. Sometimes he likes to go off and explore the area before he eats with us which he has done all the years that he has been with us. Am I correct Alexander?” When she took the plates outside, Alexander followed her with the tablecloth.
“Yes, he has since he has worked for us.” He opened the door for her, and she brushed past him while Della quickly followed them with the pitcher and glasses.
The men enjoyed their grilled hamburgers while the ladies ate hotdogs instead. As his parents finished their drinks, his mother cleared her throat and asked Perry and Della an interesting question. After she wiped her mouth with a napkin, she eyed the two of them as they enjoyed their meals and being curious winked at her husband.
“When are you going to give us grandchildren?” She asked when Alexander looked at his wife with a knowing look.
Surprised by her question, they lovingly looked into each other’s eyes and smiled at one another before they responded.
“The question is, “Will Perry embrace fatherhood since he is an up-and-coming criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles?” Della asked with a sense of wonder in her voice.
“Absolutely, I’ll be the best father to our child and husband to you.” Perry sealed his promise with a kiss on her lips before he looked back at his parents and his wife who beamed at him.
As the fire crackled against the logs, Perry placed another log on the fire while Della took the wine glasses into the kitchen and returned to the patio with graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate candy bars. Della made a mess when she melted the marshmallows and chocolate on the graham cracker, and Perry looked at her in amusement. He chuckled at her mishap and held the tray as she placed the s’more onto the tray.
“Della, you’re making a mess. Although, you impressed me with your culinary skills, but you have to admit, if I had made these s’mores, they would’ve been a lot neater.” Perry jokingly told her with a smirk on his lips.
“Counselor, you’ve got to be kidding me because s’mores are meant to be messy.” After Della handed him a s’more, he took a bite, and the chocolate dripped down his finger.
“Perry, I told you that they were meant to be messy.” Della leaned over and licked the chocolate off his finger.
“Messy. Della, you have no idea how messy I can get with your wanton gaze.” Perry picked up another graham cracker and fed it to her. She licked his digit free of the delicious chocolate before she grabbed his hand and led him to their bedroom.
“Come on Lover. Your parents want a grandchild, and I think we should make that dream of theirs become reality.” She gasped when he picked her up, shut the door, and carried her to the bed, where they made love for the rest of the night.
