Work Text:

Well it’s my first day at Woodsboro High… can’t wait. It’s the start of senior year anyway. Just 8 more months of school and then I can leave.
“Let’s go kid! We’re gonna be late.” Jess, my little sister, yells up the stairs at me. “You’re driving me! Dad had to leave for work early!” She adds with urgency. “Shit! Fuck you mean he left early?” I yell back as I stumble up and out of bed, scrambling to get dressed. “Well I guess it's a simple skirt and tee today.” I grumble as I slip on the random clothes hoping they match. They were an attempted outfit from last night. Slipping my hair into a shitty ponytail, claiming to myself that I’ll brush it when I get to school, I run downstairs, backpack, keys, laptop and a brush in hand.
”You waited until it’s 5 minutes past when we should leave to make sure I’m up?’ I groan as I walk past her to slip on a random pair of shoes, grabbing one of the many pairs of converse that exist in my house. “I thought you were awake and just taking forever to come down.” Jess grumbles as she hands me a travel mug full of coffee. I take it from her and stare at it. “You… are forgiven for this.” I reply before walking towards the door. “Now let’s go dippy.” I add opening the door, “We need to leave.” With that she follows me out the door, running to the car to fight an invisible person for the passenger seat.
“Now who the hell are you racing for the passenger’s seat? A ghost wasn’t trying to beat you to it. Seriously calm down, and please… don’t slam my doors. Remember I paid for this car.” I groan, unlocking the car and sliding into the driver’s seat, starting the car up. Jess opens the passenger door and hops, taking her sweet time shutting the door. “I said don’t slam it and that doesn’t mean shut it like a sloth. Do you want to get to school in time to see your little boyfriend?” I threaten staring at her. With that she shuts the door, on the edge of what I consider slamming it. “You’re lucky I love you.” I grumble as I pull out of the driveway and start the 10 minute drive to school. “You’re a little shit you know that right?” I say as I pull out of our neighborhood.

“But you love me.” Jess replies with a smile as I drive. “Whatever.” I shoot back. The rest of the drive had been silent except for the hum of the engine. Once we got to school, Jess shot out of the car running off to go find her boyfriend. I hop out of the car, grabbing my backpack from the back seat before the person who usually parks in this spot can find me.
Trying to look as confident as I can, I walk in through the front doors and into the office. “Mr.Himbry?” I call out as I walk in, glancing around a bit nervously. The layout of his office is a little odd but I'll ignore it. After about a minute of wandering in, I hear him call back, “Oh! You're the new student. Y/N correct?” He replies as he stands up from his desk. “I'm happy to have you here… though I am very sorry about your mother… I hope you find Woodsboro welcoming and that your father watches over you. Your sister loves it here and I don't think I've ever seen her more excited than when she found out you were coming here as well… even with the circumstances.” He adds with a somber look.
“... It's fine. I'm working past it. Some days it's a little hard but I'm getting better. My dad has been doing a lot to make me feel welcome. I'm excited to be here.” I reply with a soft smile, shifting my backpack onto the nearby seat. “Good…” He replies, glancing at his hands for an awkward moment before continuing, “Now I have a student here to show you around. Him and his friends all have at least one class with you. I thought it'd help you make friends… if you're with at least a few constant people. There's one girl in that group who might… relate to your situation as well.” He added before sighing. “Now… He should be here any minute.” He mumbles as he stares at the clock before glancing at the door. “Oh! Warning he's rather energetic even this early in the morning.” Right after he finishes his sentence, the door to the office creeps open and in walks a guy...

Notes:

There's no way they weren't at least a little fruity for each other. Also this is one of my first x readers that hopefully isn't cringe. Sorry it's so short, I swear I'll work on it.
