Just come home.

Summary:

"You're the one that starts the fires, aren't you?”

“That's me!” Jisung giggled again, tilting his head. “The name’s J.One. Though I set the buildings on fire by accident! Tootaallyyy by accident.”

~•~•~•~•~

Han Jisung. Better known under his alias as J.One, the sidekick of Discord, a villain currently terrorizing Seoul.

After a mission, he was supposed to meet with his boss. But he didn't - he got caught. By none other than the hero group Stray Kids.

He doesn't plan on telling them anything. Not his subgender, name, Discord's whereabouts, nothing.

But there was something familiar about one of them - one of the alphas. He felt like he's seen Lee Know somewhere before.

But where?

Notes:

Uhh...don't ask?
Listen, I know I should finish the ongoing fic, but this was too much of a fun idea to pass!
The summary does NOT do this justice lol. But there wasn't a better one for me to come up with and I'm not patient enough to write a better one

Title and chapter names are quotes from "The Queen of Nothing" by Holly Black <3

Chapter 1: "I knew little else, but I always knew you."

Chapter Text

It was quite the beautiful day outside. The sun was shining, very few clouds in the sky as the birds chirped and sang to their heart's content. A perfect day for a relaxing activity like walking in the by the river or for a picnic in a park…

Or, in Jisung's case, arson!

He giggled to himself as he finished setting the trap. Without a doubt the so-called heroes will fall right in! They always did. The omega carefully picked up his backpack, taking out his burner phone and calling the only number he had on it.

“Hey, boss.” He said cheerily. “It's ready.”

“Got it. Now, fucking listen for once, Han. Leave the scene and go back to our headquarters.” The voice on the other side replied. “I've got this handled. Understood?.”

Jisung shrugged, hummed an almost inaudible yeah into the phone and gathered his stuff, quickly walking out of the back alley like it was nothing. Soon enough, his boss appeared in the middle of the street, doing his monologue and just waiting for the heroes to drop in, which, in Jisung's humble opinion, was pretty stupid. Why stall so much when he had the power to get rid of them? Jisung didn't really get it, but oh well, he didn't need to. By helping, he had a roof over his head, there were no strange alphas trying to do things and he had free food! What more could he wish for?

I mean, yeah, he did get beaten a bit if he screwed up a mission, but that was, like, totally normal. Oh, and also the heat suppresants! He couldn't go into heat, no no, that would be bad if he did during one of their operations. So, he had to take suppresants at least once every week. But that was mostly fine, it only meant that if he, like, forgot or something, the heat he would get would be the worst and stronger than all of the ones he missed combined, but he wouldn't forget!

He was long gone by the time the heroes arrived on the scene (but he could still see his beautiful creation setting fire to the building. He couldn't stop smiling at that). He mastered the art of blending in with average civillians and got away unnoticed. Of course, he knew the heroes knew he existed, but they had no idea how he looked like or his subgender or the fact he didn't actually have powers! Amazing, right?

Only, apparently…they were aware of one of those things.

He should've been more surprised when he found himself pinned to the ground just outside of their meeting point. Oh fuck.

“Got you, goddamn rat. ~Time to go to sleep~.” A siren-like voice said from somewhere above him, where he couldn't see as his face was currently being pushed against the road. But he knew the hero - the youngest from the group. The persuasive hero, I.N, who could hypnotise people to do whatever he wanted with (shockingly) his voice.

I’m totally screwed.

Jisung thought as his consciousness slipped away.

~^• 🔥 •^~

Unsurprisnigly, he woke up in a cell. Not a normal cell, though, no, this one was for the baaad guys, the villains with the deadliest of powers. Which was kind of flattering, if Jisung was being honest. Him? In a cell designed for the worst of the worst? Fuck yea!

He sat up, groaning as his back cracked. Just how long was he out for? He looked around, even if there wasn't much for him to see. He stood up to take a look between the bars…to find out he was in the one and only place he thought he'd never get to. Now, he's been in a cell before (for arson), so it wasn't that. No, no, Jisung found himself in the one and only hero headquarters. He didn't get a chance to ogle the inside of the part of the building he could see, as there arose a commotion when the number one group of heroes noticed he was up - the Stray Kids.

They were watching him intently, probably waiting for him to start talking…which he did, but he's always been talkative, can you blame him?

“Well hi! Never thought I'd get in here. Pretty fancy place, isn't it? Oh, oh, you've gotta tell me where you got that carpet from, it looks so fuzzy and soft-”

“Who are you?” One stepped forward, an eyebrow raised, his scent permeating the air. Alpha. Definitely. Jisung even knew this one’s name - Bang Chan, the leader.

“Is that important? I don't think it is, right? I mean…” he trailed off, giggling. “You caught me and have me locked up here, so you must have an idea of who I am!”

“We know you're Discord’s sidekick. You're the one that starts the fires, aren't you?” Another supplied, his deep voice surprising Jisung. A face like that had a voice deeper than a trench?? And those freckles…pretty. Jisung felt like he's seen those somewhere before. Maybe on a magazine cover?

“That's me!” Jisung giggled again, tilting his head. “The name’s J.One. Though I set the buildings on fire by accident! Tootaallyyy by accident.”

“Like we believe that.” The most muscular one huffed. “Tell us your power now, before things get unnecessarily violent.”

“Aw, you're no fun.” Jisung pouted. “But if you must know…it’s nothing!” He leaned his head back, laughing at the heroes’ bewildered faces. “What, didn't expect that? I have no reason to lie to y'all, y'know.”

Contain your scent. You have to contain your scent, Jisung. They can't find that out.

“He's telling the truth.” Yet another spoke up. An alpha, without a doubt - his presence was the only thing needed for Jisung to make that out. This one was a bit tricky to pinpoint, though. Jisung's never seen him before, or at least not on the news.

“Lee Know, are you sure?” Bang Chan asked.

“He has no idea who I am, Chan. He wouldn't know how to control his emotions.” The other one - Lee Know - looked at the leader, an unreadable expression on his face.

“Ooh, you can read minds or something similar to that, can't you?” Jisung said cheerily, though there was something different to his smile. It was strained. “You must've seen the jumbled mess that I call my mind, then! Jolly!”

“...The guy’s really crazy, isn't he?” The one Jisung identified as I.N said, a shiver running through his whole body.

“Kind of, yeah. He also won't tell us anything else right now, if the “jumbled mess” is anything to go by.” Lee Know shrugged.

Shortly after that, the heroes left and Jisung was left alone, finally allowing his scent to run just a tiiiiny bit wild. He couldn't let them know he was an omega, that would be an absolutely terrible thing to do. Though, judging by everyone's scent, there were at least two omegas in that hero group - quite shocking, really.

Jisung sat back on the bed in the cell, staring off into space. He got caught. He. Got. Caught. Oh, Discord was going to be so mad when he found out! But maybe he already knew? Jisung still had no idea how long he's been out for, after all.

With no way to tell how much time has passed, he just…dissasociated. Imagining fake scenarios, coming up with ways he could twist the truth and throw the heroes off of Discord's tail, thinking about how to make sure they wouldn't find out he was an omega…the list went on and on.

He snapped back to reality when he heard the shuffling of feet. He reigned his scent back, hoping whoever it was wouldn't pick up on the remains of it.

It was Lee Know, holding a tray of food. It wasn't much, but…more than what Jisung got back at his headquarters. There was no way it was actually for him, right? No, it was Lee Know's and he came to question him. Yes, that was it, surely-

“Get up.” Lee Know grumbled, placing the tray down and pusing it into the cell. “Can't risk you starving and dying. You still have info that we need.”

Jisung walked over to the food, eyes narrowed and flicking between the alpha and the tray. It wasn't really all that suspicious, per say, but totally weird. Why would a prisoner get so much food?

“Thanks, I guess. About time, too.” Jisung sat down, immediately stuffing his cheeks full. Oh, that was delicious!

“You were right earlier. I could see the way your mind is…”jumbled”. Well, the way your emotions are, but that's unimportant. What is important, however, is you telling us what you know. And just maybe you won't rot in this cell for the rest of your life.”

Jisung looked up at the alpha outside, swallowing the food before grinning. “I won't tell you anything. You'd have to torture me to get the info out of me. So, good luck!”

The other hummed, tilting his head. “What's your subgender?”

“Wouldn't you like to know.” Jisung said, mouth full. “‘m not tellin’ ya anything.”

Lee Know just shrugged, turning away. “Better get your emotions in check, then. We'll keep asking, for however long you'll be allowed to stay here with us.” He glanced at Jisung again, quirking an eyebrow. “Which might be a long, long time.”

~^• 🔥 •^~

Jisung was bored out of his mind.

Nobody wanted to speak to him if it wasn't to question him and he had nothing to do! He had no books, nothing to occupy his hands and mind, which was really, really bad. He'd get lost in his head, with no way out, everything he worked so hard to forget would resurface and he didn't want that. Even if he actually didn't know what he'd tried so hard to forget.

All the heroes took turns in guarding him and bringing him food. He learned all their names shortly into his stay. Without a doubt, the omegas - Lee Felix and Hwang Hyunjin - were his favorites. Felix would even talk to him sometimes! It was nice to have a conversation that wasn't just ‘what do you know’ and ‘where is this and that and that guy’.

If he already wasn't crazy, he'd go crazy right then and there. He soon found out that the vent inside his cell connected to some kind of a meeting room, though, so he listened to that whenever he had the chance. Like right now.

“I understand getting information out of villains is…tricky, but you can't keep him here much longer. He has to go to a real prison, where-”

“Officer, he's mentally unwell. Lee Know's already told you that. We cannot let him go because he still didn't say what we need him to, yes, but also because we're the only ones that have a shot at helping him.” Bang Chan said, backed up by his group.

“We've all guarded him since we brought him in,” The one that Jisung found out was named Changbin said, “and we can all say one thing - he's a bit…psychotic. But that's not all there is.”

“There's a lot of uncovered trauma in that brain of his.” Lee Know. That was Lee Know's voice. Or, well, Lee Minho's. What a basic name. Minho. Minho, Minho, Minho. Leeee Minhooo. Why did he care about that piece of information so much? He felt like the name was familiar…“Whether you like it or not, officer, he's staying here until further notice. Plus we still don't know his real identity, so work on finding that out, first.”

Jisung snorted. Hah. Funny. Trauma? Nah, he didn't have any trauma. He couldn't have it.

At least he thought…

And it's true that they still didn't know his name.

“Hey Seungmin, hey, hey Seungmin.” Jisung leaned against the bars of the cell. “Could you bring me, like, a ball or something? Or books? I'm soo bored I will literally die of boredom if you don't!”

Seungmin, as always, only glanced in his direction, not responding. Nobody but Felix did (when they weren't questioning him), but even he did only out of necessity. Jisung huffed, pouting, returning to the bed. He actually had no idea how much time has passed. Discord - his boss - didn't let any of the heroes know anything. Didn't demand his sidekick back, which, uh, rude!

He sighed loudly, flopping onto the bed. He didn't even have a window, so he had no idea what time it was! It was torture, totally torture…not that it could compare in any way to that one time he completely fucked up a mission and couldn't eat anything for a week, tied to a chair. That was his worst punishment yet - but it was okay, he didn't screw up like that again!

Seungmin left and Minho came in, it being his turn to keep guard now. To his surprise, though, the alpha brought a book with him and stuck his hand into the cell, handing it to Jisung, who's smile turned genuine for the first time.

“Thaaank you!” He grabbed the book, delighted.

“It's just to stop you from annoying everyone while they're on shift.” Minho scoffed, turning around. Jisung rolled his eyes at that, but didn't reply. He opened the book, eager to get at least some form of entertainment.

Minho was quiet, but somehow, his presence was…grounding. Jisung felt his thoughts stop racing, he felt the way the voices he heard all the time quiet down. It was a relief, to not have anything scream at him, even if it was inside his own head.

He continued reading, before…

“What the fuck!? Why, oh god, why is she going with the first guy?? He tried to kill you, hello?!” Jisung screamed at the book, getting to the first plot twist. He groaned at how stupid the main character was.

His surprise while reading couldn't compare to the feeling he felt now, as he heard a soft reply: “She's stupid in the first book, but it gets better in the second.”

Jisung looked up to find Minho looking into the cell. Even through the scent blockers the other was wearing, he could still lightly smell his scent. Hm, dark chocolate…not bad at all. There was something about it…he liked it…

Jisung did still keep his scent contained the best he could, though. He still couldn't have them figure out his subgender.

“I hope so, the first guy is a total jerk! He treats her so badly I just want to hide her from him somewhere.” Jisung smiled, glad to have the older talking to him. He tilted his head. “You've read this, then?”

“Of course I have, it's mine. I have a lot of books.” He turned back to the book he himself was reading. “And, yeah, he is a total jerk. But still an important character to the story. Keep reading.”

And Jisung did. It was so, so easy to ignore everything around him as he dived right into a world full of elves, goblins and faeries. Sometimes he allowed himself to make a surprised gasp in particularly shocking scenes, but he was otherwise quiet. It was…comfortable, though. The silence. It's been quite some time since Jisung could be in silence without his head conjuring up a hallucination or flashback to one of his punishments or training.

He soon felt his eyelids getting heavier and decided to close the book and go to sleep. He burned the number of the page into his mind, gently placing it on the ground next to his bed. He crawled onto it, covering himself with the thin blanket he's been given.

From the outside, behind the bars, a small, almost inaudible “good night” sounded. Jisung smiled and hummed in acknowledgement before allowing himself to fall asleep.

“Come on, Jiji! You're being too slow!” A little boy called out to another, waiting for him on top of a small hill.

The smaller of the two caught up as quickly as he could, catching his breath. “M-Minnie, you're t-too fast for me! You know I h-have shorter legs!”

The older one patted his head, smiling softly. “We gotta train to become heroes, Jiji. When we get out powers, we gotta be ready. But I'm sorry, was this too hard?”

“...it wasn't all that bad.” The younger one grumbled, his caramel-like scent sweetening. So did the other one's in response.

They sat down and reached into their backpacks for their snackboxes. They always came to this hill after school, to relax and talk about their days, as they weren't in the same class because of their two-year age difference.

“So yeah, that's all. What did you do, Jiji?”

“Nothing much! I played with Bbokie during the big break.” What he didn't mention, though, was the weird man that watched them from behind the school fence. But he was young looking, could've been trying to see his little sibling or…cousing or something. It didn't really matter to the ten year old. Not when he had a ball to dodge.

“Hmm. We should get going or our moms will be worried. Come on, Jiji!” The older boy sprang up, running away, cackling. The younger one yelped and hurried after him.

Later that very day, the younger boy found the window of his room open. He didn't call for his parents, as he thought they were the ones to open it, for air. His mom called that dinner was ready and he turned his back to it.

He never got to have that dinner.

~^• 🔥 •^~

Jisung woke up with a shout. He frantically looked around, trying to recognize where he was, not knowing what to make of his surroundings. His eyes didn't rest for a second, searching the cell - that's right, he was in a cell - for something. He didn't know what, but it had something to do with his dream.

That dream…it didn't feel like one. It felt more like a memory but…Jisung wasn't so sure. He practically remembered nothing from his childhood, so why would his memories resurface now, of all times? He shook his head, regaining his composure and only then he noticed the slightly worried eyes looking at him. It wasn't Minho, though - it was I.N. Jeongin. Whatever his name was. Jisung must've been asleep for longer than he thought.

“What's got you screaming like someone ripped your heart out?” The young hero asked, his neutral beta scent not giving anything away.

“Why, are you worried about me? Aw, I'm flattered, but there's no need.” Jisung instantly put up his mask. He wouldn't let anyone in, not after…after what, exactly? He couldn't…he didn't remember. “It's pretty stupid, anyways.”

Jeongin just stared for a bit before turning back around, sitting on the chair next to the cell’s entrance. Jisung leaned against the wall, looking up into the ceiling.

“What time is it? I have no way of keeping track of how long I've been here.” He said, picking at his nails. He hoped he'd get an answer, but he was aware of everyone's dislike towards him, so getting one seemed unlikely.

“Oh. It's, uh…” Jeongin looked somewhere to the side. “...it's 9:28AM. And you've been here for eight days already. That enough for you?”

“Yup. Thanks, Innie.” He grinned, only now remembering the book Minho had lent him before. If it was morning now, that would make it the evening, right?

He picked it up and continued reading, not paying attention to his surroundings. He didn't even notice when the guard changed from Jeongin to Seungmin and then to Changbin. It almost seemed like they gave up on questioning him, until…

“J.One, we have to talk.” Bang Chan's voice rang out from the entrance of the hallway. Jisung looked up, frowning that he had to put away the book. It was just getting interesting, too…

“Finee…” he huffed, plopping down by the bars so that they would hear each other better.

“Have you changed your mind? Will you tell us any of the locations of Discord's hideouts?”

“Hmm, nah.” Jisung leaned back, bored. Always the same questions. “I don't wanna.”

“Hm, alright. How about your name?”

Welp…that one was new. It caught Jisung off guard and he had to blink a few times for the question to fully register. “Ooo, why would you want that, hmm? Oh! Wanna hit on me and think of a cute nickname derived from my real name?” He joked, noting how Bang Chan's jaw clenched.

“You're a mystery, J.One. Nobody knows where you came from, no one knows your name…but rest assured, we will find out. Eventually.”

The hero stood up and…Jisung felt bad. Even though he was a prisoner, they never treated him badly. They gave him food, fresh water, they didn't torture him for information, only questioned him…but he couldn't just betray Discord so easily…but his boss didn't come for him, he ignored that Jisung didn't come to their meeting spot…

“One of the shops in Myeong-dong,” he spoke up, the hero’s retreating figure stopping, “is a cover for one of our meet-up places. It looks like an old music shop, but the basement has bags full of…illegal stuff Discord sells. If you get that, most of his reason of income will be gone.” Wow. It was so easy to get that out. Surprisingly easy, even.

Chan was quiet, blinking at Jisung's small, hunched over figure. “Thank you, J.One.” He said and left. Nobody came to guard him and Jisung knew why - they needed everyone to know about the new piece of information Jisung has just given them. They'll launch an operation quickly, no doubt about that.

Now it was time for him to panic. What if Discord finds out that he ratted him out? He'd definitely beat Jisung to the ground. But…he was probably safe in the cell, right? Yeah, Discord could never get into the building Jisung was currently in, he was safe! Totally safe!

He paced around the cell, pulling at his curly, brown hair and biting his nails. His eyes flicked to the bed and his mind supplied the word “wrong”. He had no idea why, but he felt the sudden urge to crawl into it and let his scent run wild. But he couldn't. That would mean the heroes would find out he's an omega and they can't find out he's an omega because if they did then they could decide to do whatever they wanted to him because omegas are weak and fragile and helpless and he couldn't have that because that's the main reason he still worked for Discord because he never touched him in any way and gave him shelter from such people that only wanted to touch him in a way he didn't want and-

Deep. Breaths. Jisung had to take in deep breaths. He was fine! Totally fine. He was succesful in calming himself down and calming his scent down. Hopefully he didn't absolutely stink up the whole place in the few minutes he was out of it. He took in an extra deep breath and laid down on the bed, closing his eyes.

In his dreams, the boy was there again. Those chocolate eyes and dark hair. That smile and the bunny teeth. His melodic voice when he called out to Jisung.

“Jiji!”

~^• 🔥 •^~

He was listening in to yet another meeting through the vent. This one seemed interesting, as it was about him. Yet again. Hah.

“Judging by what you've told us about J.One, we've narrowed the suspect list. There's currently thirty people in this, if you’d take a look…” the unknown voice said, probably an officer or something. There was the shuffling of paper.

“Some of these look alike, but most aren't even close…” Hyunjin commented. Jisung snorted.

“It's all we have to work with, unfortunately. There is also a chance that Discord somehow deleted all records of him existing, so then there would be no way to find out his identity unless he'd tell you.” The officer replied. There was more shuffling. It was irritating that Jisung couldn't see anything. “Have you figured out his subgender or scent, at least?”

“No.” Changbin sighed. “He's hiding it completely. Sometimes one of us gets a whiff of something but it's gone before anyone can identify what it is or if it's even coming from J.One.”

Jisung giggled. Good. The less they know, the better.

They talked more about the list, Jisung's possible subgender and then the meeting came to an end. Or, at least, the formal meeting did. Because as soon as the officer's left, Chan said:

“Pack meeting.”

Wait a second- pack? The heroes were a pack? Huh, now that he thought about it, it kind of made sense. How they never wore any scent blockers or anything, even if they were in the building and working…if they were packmates, there was no need for them. It really did make sense.

“What is it, Chan?” Felix's voice asked.

“It's about J.One, unsurprisingly. The guy's been here for over a week. Anybody anything new we didn't already know? And no, Seungmin, the fact that he talks in his sleep isn't news to anyone.”

Huh. Jisung didn't know that.

After a chorus of no’s rang out, the leader sighed. “We have to do something about him. The authorities are pushing on us to make a decision. Minho, how's his mental state?"

“A lot better than when we brought him in. It's kind of a miracle, really, how fast his mind settled.”

Jisung kept listening.

“Well, we need to find out his name, or they won't let us keep him. Anyone any ideas besides going through all these?” Papers shuffling yet again.

“I…I may have a lead. Like, five days ago, I had the watch when he was sleeping. He kept talking about some…Minnie? I couldn't hear him that well, honestly. But it might be something, right?”

Jisung's attention was on the conversation only.

“Minnie, huh…sounds familiar. Did he say anything else?” Minho said, more quiet than before. It took a lot for Jisung to make out the words.

“Uhh…I don't remember, sorry.”

Then, there was Felix. “He talks to me a lot, and from what I've heard, his name totally starts with a J. He also has a habit of muttering to himself, but he always stopped before saying his whole name. I did catch the J, though.”

“Yongbok-ah, that's…actually pretty good. It'll help us narrow the list down and…”

Jisung didn't hear the rest. Yongbok. Felix. Bbokie. Yongbok. Yongbok.

Lee Felix Yongbok.

His best friend from class. The freckled boy with an accent he liked to play with all the time. The one just a single day younger than Jisung himself. How could he forget those kind words and even kinder eyes?

The memories were like a kick to Jisung's stomach. He scrambled back, hitting the bed as he clutched at his chest. He knew now why he didn't remember his childhood much. That day he dreamed about, the first dream he had, he was taken away. Taken away by villains and they convinced him his parents didn't want him anymore. They told him they were his new family and he believed them - he locked all his memories away and they raised him to be one of them before he found himself working for Discord.

Lee Minho. Alpha. Dark chocolate. That's why he smelled so familiar. It was Minho, his Minho. His best friend since kindergarten, the boy he made sand castles with and who he raced to that hill everytime, even though he always lost. Jisung felt like crying.

That's when the door to the hallway opened. Jisung jumped onto the bed, sitting with his knees to his chest, blinking the few tears that welled up in his eyes away.

The whole group - the whole pack - was in front of Jisung's cell. Minho and Felix - Minnie and Lixie, Bbokie, Minnie’s cousing from Australia that moved to their town all those years ago - were standing a bit to the side. Jisung glanced at them before his attention was back on Chan.

“J.One. The police want to send you away to a prison, far away from here. The only way for you to stay is if you tell us your full name. You have five days to say it, or you'll be going to a real prison.”

He snorted, a bit panicked. What would happen if he did? Did Minho and Felix even remember him? It's been years. They probably didn't. They most definitely didn't. Hah, he wasn't going to tell them. “Hmm…let me think about it. How about no?”

His mask of confidence didn't fool anyone. “Five days, J.One. Make your choice.”

They left, leaving Changbin behind to guard him. Minho lingered in the hallway for a bit, without a doubt aware of the state of Jisung's mind, or namely, his emotions. The panic, the anxiety…he still didn't ask anything, though, and left with the others.

Jisung sat on the bed, thinking. He's forgotten nearly everything from when he was a child and didn't use to think about it all that much. The ones that kidnapped him made sure he wouldn't think about it. Oh, gods, what about his mom? And his dad? They must've looked for him everywhere back then, they must've been so worried…

“Yah, you ok? You're scratching yourself.” Changbin said, nodding towards Jisung's forearms, which were red from, indeed, scratching. That was a habit of his that he never got rid of.

“Naah, I'm fine. Just, uh, thinking. About…stuff.”

“Right…” Changbin sounded doubtful, but let it be. Jisung was glad for that.

Soon, the beta left and in came Hyunjin. He greeted Jisung, just a quick hi, before sitting on the chair and scrolling on his phone. Jisung was still on the bed, doing nothing.

And then distaster struck. Disaster in the form of a cramp.

Jisung sat up so quickly it have him backlash. That was…no, it couldn't be. He hasn't had one in so long…the suppresants. He couldn't take the suppresants, because he was a prisoner, he couldn't take them and now…

Another cramp. Jisung bit his fist to muffle a cry. He had to take care of his scent - it would give everything away and he'd lose control of it shortly. He quickly grabbed the thin blanket and wrapped it around his neck like a scarf to hide his scent glands. It was wrong, the bed was so plain and wrong and didn't feel safe at all. He needed to nest. But he couldn't, he didn't have the materials and it would be a dead giveaway to what's happening if he started nesting. He took in a shaky breath. The whole thing couldn't be so bad, he'd get through it. His hightened senses helped, too - he could smell the light scent from Hyunjin a lot better. It calmed him, having another omega near.

He sat there, the blanket around his neck containing most of his scent, as his stomach started cramping stronger, more often. Tears welled in his eyes, but he could handle it. He was handling it-

And then yet another disaster struck. This time in the form of Lee Minho.

“Hey, Jin?”

“Yeah?”

“Are you in preheat?” Minho asked, coming closer to Hyunjin, which meant coming closer to the cell, which meant Jisung could smell him better and fuck was that a problem.

“What? No.” Hyunjin chuckled.

“That's funny, I could've sworn that I felt…”

Jisung couldn't take it anymore. It was fine when it was just Hyunjin because Hyunjin was an omega too and his scent didn't really do anything but Minho was an alpha and his scent was intoxicating and made everything worse.

This cramp was so bad it had Jisung hunching over, letting out a strangled cry. He heard how Hyunjin cursed and how he stood up from the chair. But that wasn't the worst part - the blanket fell from his neck and his scent was free. He could tell exactly when it reached Minho, because he was looking between the bars at the two heroes intently. He didn't know what he was searching for, but imagine his surprise when it was recognition that flashed in Minho's eyes. The alpha covered his mouth, gasping, while Hyunjin struggled to find the key to the cell.

The cramp passed before they could get inside and Jisung shuffled to the furthest corner of the bed, breathing heavily. The two paused and the three of them just stared as Jisung tried to regain most of his composure.

Minho took a step forward, searching Jisung's face with his eyes. Jisung knew why - he recognized his scent, but doubted it was actually him. Jisung didn't blame him - he had no reason to think so. In Minho's mind, Jisung might've as well been dead.

Minho was looking into his eyes now, disbelief on his face still. He was waiting for that one last thing that would prove it. That would prove it was him.

Jisung was going to give it to him.

“M-Minnie…”

Minho's eyes flashed red for a moment and suddenly, he was by the door, shoving Hyunjin aside and unlocking the cell. In a flash he was there, in front of Jisung, cradling his face, checking it to make sure he wasn't hallucinating.

“Is…is it really you? J-Jisung, is it…is it you?” He asked, voice quiet. Jisung nodded, tears running down his face.

“I- I didn't re-remember anything. From when- when I was a kid.” He sobbed, clutching onto Minho. “N-not a single thi-thing. But when you- when you called Felix Yongbok, it all-” his breath hitched. “It came r-rushing back.”

Minho was now crying, too, pulling Jisung closer, hugging him tightly. Jisung inhaled his scent, that dark chocolate he didn't even know he missed. It used to be his favorite scent, once upon a time. And he hoped to god it could become it again.

Meanwhile, the exchange was watched by a very, very confused Hyunjin. He texted Chan to bring everyone, not really sure what else he was supposed to do. You don't get a scene like that everyday.

The pack came rushing in, various level of confusion on their faces. Well, everyone but Felix, who had only a sniff of the scent in the air and burst into tears, sprinting to Minho's side - and Jisung's.

“J-Jiji? Jiji, is it…”

Jisung nodded, sniffling. “B-Bbokie…”

More tears and even more confusion. The three in the cell were allowed a moment to cry and calm down before Chan stepped forward on behalf of the rest. “Minho, Felix, what's going on here?”

Minho opened his mouth, ready to explain, but a hand stopped him. Jisung's hand. He wanted to do it himself.

“Do they know?” He asked first, unsure if his name would even ring a bell.

“Yeah. We- we've told them. We didn't want to give up, even after all these years, we-” Felix took in a deep breath. “-we kept searching.”

Jisung nodded, a bit taken aback by that confession. Then, once again, turned to face the rest of the pack - Minho's pack.

“Uh, yeah, hi. We should- we should do introductions properly this time.” He wiped the remains of tears from his cheeks. “It’s nice to meet you. I’m…my name is Han Jisung.”
