Chapter Text
If only you knew how much those little moments meant to me-unknown
Rain strolled down the hall towards his last class of the day, eager to get everything finished and meet his doting boyfriend for dinner. Phayu had told the younger he’d be taking him out to a new restaurant, and Rain was excited. He loved going to different restaurants with Phayu. He was humming quietly to himself, tossing his cylinder document case back and forth, unaware that he had passed P’Som and received a glare from said senior.
Rain turned into his classroom, eager to brag about his upcoming date to Sky, none the wiser about his bitter senior.
“Sky!” He said as he plopped into the desk next to his best friend. “Guess where P’Phayu is taking me?”
The dark haired man sighed as he looked at Rain. “I don’t know, Rain. A movie?”
Rain flashed a brilliant smile. “Nope! Guess again.”
Sky pursed his lips. “A park? Like a picnic date.”
Rain was practically vibrating with excitement. “Nope! He’s taking me to Solstice!”
Sky’s mouth dropped open a bit as he turned the desk towards his bubbly friend. “Isn’t there like a 6 month wait to get a table there? P’Pai has been trying to get us in for weeks!”
Rain nodded. “Yep, since P’Mhok’s firm designed the restaurant, the owner offered every one that works there a table whenever they want, like a standing reservation for the firm. I bet P’Phayu would be willing to have a double date there after we go and decide if it’s any good.”
“I can’t believe I’m actually jealous of you right now.” Sky said incredulously.
Rain smiled again. “You’re not used to that, huh?”
Sky shuddered. “No, I don’t like it. You always brag about P’Phayu, and I agree he’s a great person, but this is the first real envy I’ve felt. Now I’m hoping the food is incredible so we could have a double date there.”
Rain laid his hand on Sky’s. “You know P’Phayu and I love double dates with you and P’Pai. Us being best friends and them being best friends makes everyone more comfortable. I’ll let you know how the food is when we’re on our way home. I promise.”
Sky smiled. “You better let me know, I’ve seen so much buzz online about it. It looks beautiful and the food looks amazing, but that’s just pictures.”
Rain held out his hand, pinky extended. “I swear.” Sky wrapped his own pinky around his friends, knowing Rain wouldn’t break a pinky promise.

Som was still pissed off about Rain having the audacity to pursue Phayu, pursue him and succeed. The lanky young man couldn’t see why Phayu would have chosen Rain of all people; he thought Rain had a long face, was loud and annoying, not to mention an idiot, and was nowhere near good enough for the brilliant senior. He was just a boring little nobody.
Som scoffed and headed down the hall the way Rain had just come, thinking that he needed to do something to get the annoying sophomore away from the man he thought he deserved to be with. Phayu was probably only with him because he was eager to please, so he was probably just an easy lay for him.
Som smirked to himself. “P’Phayu will get bored soon, Rain doesn’t have a lot going on to hold his interest. It’s just easy sex for P’Phayu. If Rain will even put out, he seems like a prude. And P’Phayu wouldn’t fall in love with a ditz like Rain. He’s just fooling around. Although, I didn’t think he would go for someone as plain looking either, fooling around or not.”
Som took the stairs two at a time, wanting to hurry home and think of ways to separate Rain from his beloved P’Phayu. He was lost in his thoughts when Ple stopped him.
“P’Som, are you already going home?”
He nodded. “Yeah, I finished my classes and don’t have anything else to do here, so I figured I’d go work at home, or maybe that café near here.”
His sweet younger sister nodded. “If you go to the café, will you get me that lemon cake I like?” She asked with a smile.
He smiled in return. “Of course, if that’s where I go, I’ll put it in the fridge for you later.”
She grinned and hugged him tight. “I have the best big brother. Ever. I’ll see you at home.” She waved at him before hurrying up the stairs, going into the same classroom as Rain had, leaving Som to let the smile fall from his face as he continued quickly out of the faculty.
~~~~~~~
Rain stretched, glad class was over. Students around him began loading their backpacks up, he moved a little slower, wanting to walk out with his friends. Once they’d all packed up, they walked down the hall chatting idly.
“You guys wanna go to Urban Grind, sort out some notes?” Por asked.
Sky smirked at Rain. “Rain has a hot date at Solstice tonight.”
Ple gasped, grabbing Rain’s arm. “How did you get a reservation?”
Rain laughed. “The firm P’Phayu works at designed it, so they have a standing table.”
“Oh my god, that’s so cool.” Was all Sig could say.
Por elbowed him. “Did you know P’Phayu was working on it while the project was happening or did you just find out?”
“I had no idea. Sometimes he’s not allowed to talk about work projects though, so I would guess the owners didn’t want people talking. The restaurant business is pretty brutal and competitive, they probably wanted it kept quiet.”
Sky nodded. “That’s true, so many restaurants open and don’t last through their first year. It’s a tough industry.”
The others hummed in agreement, walking down the stairs and out of the building. Rain was looking at his phone when Sig sighed.
“Here’s where Rain abandons us.”
Rain looked at Sig in confusion before following his friend’s gaze to see Phayu leaning against his bright blue motorcycle. His face lit up as he raced down the last few steps, calling out his goodbye to his friends, and launched at his boyfriend, hugging him tight.
“P’Phayu! I thought you’d still be at work.”
The older man smirked as he ruffled Rain’s hair. “We don’t have a lot of projects at the moment, so I was able to duck out early.”
Rain pouted up at him. “You like messing up my hair, don’t you?” He asked as he began smoothing his hair back down.
Phayu kissed Rain’s forehead. “I like teasing you, you’re cute when you get flustered. Anyway, aren’t you happy to see me?”
The younger pursed his lips, pretending to think for a moment. “I guess so.”
Phayu raised an eyebrow. “You guess so? Can I get a more definitive answer?”
Before Rain could offer a sassy remark, Phayu cupped his face and pressed his lips softly against Rain’s. “How about now?” He asked after breaking the kiss, gently adjusting his lover’s bangs.
Rain beamed at him. “Yes, P’Phayu, I’m happy to see you. I love when you can drive me home after classes.”
“Well, let’s go home then.” Phayu said, handing Rain the second helmet. A few students watched Rain climb onto the bike behind Phayu and ride off with a bit of jealousy.
Som was sitting at a little café, staring at his phone anxiously. He’d barely touched his matcha latte. He set his phone down to look up at the ceiling. He blew out a breath when his phone finally dinged. He snatched it up and was relieved to see the reply on a message board he’d been hoping for.
4:24 PM NeedAdvice45
I want to get someone away from the person I love.
Just rough up the guy a little bit, make them
break up. I know the guy I like
would be better with me, I just don’t know
how to go about doing this.
Can anyone help me?
TheBestAround🏆 4:51 PM
I could help you. How far does it need
to go? Are you paying?
Som drew in a deep breath. Someone willing to beat Rain up, scare him away from P’Phayu. He thought for a moment about what to say.
4:52 PM NeedAdvice45
Yes I could pay, not a lot though. Still
a college student. He just needs to get bloodied up
a bit. He needs to be scared and think it’s
his boyfriend’s fault, and break up with him
because of it. How much do you want?
He hit send and set his phone down again. He took another deep breath, picked up his drink and took a large gulp. His phone dinged again.
TheBestAround🏆 4:55 PM
Can you do ฿20,000?
Som backed out of the forum he’d found and opened his bank app. He saw he had a little more than double what the person had asked for. He went back to the forum.
5:02 PM NeedAdvice45
I can do that. Do I give you the information
here, or do we meet up somewhere?
TheBestAround🏆 5:02 PM
Where and when can we meet? That
info isn’t allowed to be shared here.
5:03 PM NeedAdvice45
Are you busy now?
TheBestAround🏆 5:04 PM
Not at all. Tell me where and how
to know who you are.
5:06 PM NeedAdvice45
I’m at the Little Sun Café, bright
teal laptop, matcha latte, bright blue shirt,
orange backpack. I’m in the back
right corner alone.
TheBestAround🏆 5:07 PM
I’ll be there in 15 minutes.
Som set his phone down once again, hand shaking a little. Was he really going to do this, set a random stranger on Rain to hurt him?
Rain was standing in the closet, holding up two different shirts, unable to decide between them.
“P’Phayu, can you help me?” He called out.
The elder walked into the closet after a moment. “Of course, darling, what do you need?”
Rain turned and held the garments up. “Which one is more appropriate for the restaurant?”
Phayu thought for a moment, strong arms crossed. He reached out and grabbed both shirts, holding them up one at a time against Rain’s slender body.
“I think this lavender one goes better with the atmosphere. It’s a bit dressier.”
Rain smiled and took the shirt. “Thank you, P’Phayu.” He kissed the taller man before turning and taking the shirt off the hanger.
Phayu smiled and hung the rejected shirt back up before leaning against the doorframe. He loved watching Rain do such mundane things, knowing he felt so comfortable in his home. Rain tucked the shirt into his fitted grey slacks, and buttoned it up, leaving the top button undone.
“Should I wear a jacket or a fitted vest?”
Phayu pursed his lips. “Vest.”
The younger nodded, turning to dig in a drawer, pulling out a vest a few shades deeper than the pants. After he had buttoned it as well, he turned to face Phayu.
“Is this okay?”
Phayu took a moment to slowly trail his eyes over Rain, admiring the way the slacks showed off his slender legs, up to the vest and the way it emphasized his tiny waist before settling on his face. Phayu could tell Rain had done light makeup and he’d parted his hair to the side.
The elder knew he needed to answer because Rain had begun biting his lip. “You look beautiful.” He stepped closer to the auburn haired man, leaning in to whisper into his sensitive ears. “I can’t wait to rip that vest off of you tonight.”
Rain flushed and smacked Phayu in the arm. The taller man chuckled and held out his hand. “Ready to go?”
Rain intertwined his fingers with Phayu’s and nodded with a cute smile.
