Chapter 1: i. cielo

Chapter Text

the last day with a lovely yet unforgettable lady...

"do you have to go, miss?!?!" a younger tommy wheeler asked his and tina’s maid as he was sobbing with a tall lady nodding. tommy then made a promise to the maid. "when i'm all grown up, i will see you again!"

"huh? living alone?" tommy's only friend in general asked him.

"yea," his friend told him it was pretty sudden. "well, i'm sorry and you're still waiting for my manuscript and-" tommy's friend shouted at him that she was sorry and that she couldn't wait for the manuscript.

"just kidding," tommy sweated a little bit, thinking to himself that she didn't sound like she was kidding in the slightest. "but still, living alone at your age is no laughing matter. "and i can't believe that your sister is letting you do this. isn't tina at least a little bit worried?!"

"uh. it's just a house that we used to live in. it's basically something that i've been waiting to revisit." his friend told tommy that if that was the case, then his sister would be fine with it. tommy chuckled

'i haven't told my friend what happened to this house. but i can't say it.

"oh well, you're young but you got a head start. i guess there's nothing to worry about. it'll be like turning over a new leaf. just do your best, my good ol' friend, thomas boren." tommy shivered at his friend using his current name.

"sure." tommy started to narrate about his author life. after that, he hung up on his friend.

'i was fine with writing at the start, though. but anyway, i wanted to separate myself from society. so i left home while my sister is on vacation with her multiple friends. i am doing something i'm shouldn't be doing,' tommy thought as he snapped out of it, telling himself that he's totally not running away. "sometimes you need a change of pace to spark your writing! even if the greatest of writers don't tell you that!" tommy started to think about his parents' maid reading the younger version of him a story. 'plus, if it is there, where i've made so many memories. i'm sure that this is the place," tommy looked at the house where he and tina lived. tommy told himself that it was farther than he except it would be. then he realized that his boxes were already delivered. "ha! not a single thing has changed!" tommy looked at the books that his father used to collect when he was a young kid. "these books are all out of print."

'me and my sister used to live with our parents. but somewhere in the year that we were born, we lost our parents and their maid in a house fire. tina and i then lived with our grandparents but they died too. god, our family is a curse. and now people think we're in an incestuous relationship or something because of my quote unquote love map. but it's not my fault that my parents died in a house fire... it's not anyone's fault.' tommy started to break down into tears as he remembered the short-lived times he had with their maid. 'she was so nice to me, and pretty as well... back then, me and tina used to play games with our maid...'

"oh god! i have to stop crying over everything! but hey, i'm glad these books are in good condition." tommy then examined the library, until he realized something was up. 'not a single speck of dust!?! but this place has been abandoned for 10 years, but... how?!' tommy told himself that he would forget that fateful day of their family's history. 'there shouldn't be anyone- here?' tommy's eyes started to widen as he felt a ghost touching his chin.

"mister wheeler?" tommy looked around and then pointed at himself. "yes you silly goose! i knew it was you! long time no see!!!" the maid from tommy's past started to hug him as she started to speak a lot faster.

"what is this? who are you?!" tommy thought to himself about how talkative the ghost was before she hugged him. he then remembered himself hugging his maid when he was younger. he backed away. 'the maid who lost her life 10 years ago. she was…'

"you're gotta be kidding me… lumina?!?"

"in the flesh! well, ghost flesh." lumina smiled as tommy blushed.
