Work Text:
thank you, my savior, or rather,
the light of the dark night,
slipping through the window
up high my strong walls.
waiting here was easy,
till my anguish overflew
disarraying my mind into pieces
of small shattered glass.
will i look at you again?
can your soft eyes
show me the way of escape,
to oh-so-desirable freedom?
bless me with unfathomable strength
so that i move forward
and see my reflection
in those eyes of yours
free of judgement,
but full of sheer acceptance
and unfiltered mirth.
i’ll lean on you and feel protected
your hug will soothe my aching being.
rest, you’ll say, my restive fledgling,
you’re safe with me,
you can be weak.
