At this point he was not surprised, Maybe he would have felt sad if it was the first time. But to Peter, it was expected. It was nothing new, He knew people would leave no matter how much he try to hold them close.
He wished, Maybe…. just maybe he could have a family who would just stay with him and not in a cemetery, But who was he kidding?
Peter was no stranger to death. He knew what it meant when he turned seven.
He doesn’t remember much about Mary or Richard Parker but he knew they took care of him and loved him like their own, even tho he was adopted.
His biological mom made sure he was happy. He met her once a month. when he lost Mary and Richard on a plane crash he couldn’t understand what it meant. It took him months to realise that they are not coming back.
The promise Richard made about going to the beach will never happen. The promise Mary made about going to her favourite opera will never come true.
Thats when he knew what death means. Death is so lonely, it keeps the people with it when they meet. it means there is no coming back.
With Ben and May he kept his distance. He didn’t want another adoptive parents. He cried, screamed and was even angry at his mom for not taking him with her. He wanted to live with her. But his mom refused. it’s was not safe? Peter didn’t wanted safe, he just wanted his mom. As long he was in her arms he would be fine, he would be safe. But that is not how the story goes does it?
Eventually everything started coming around, things were even fine. He enjoyed staying with Ben and May. Cause they were not another adoptive parents. They were just Ben and May whom he loved and adored.
He laughed when May tried to cook something different and always burn their kitchen, he loved his morning walks with Ben although he was not a morning person. The plants that May grew, the small apartment they were staying, the friends he made, He loved school even tho he was bullied.
But nothing came close to the day his mom would pick him up for the movie nights or vacations. Or the time he and his uncle Tony tinkered in the lab and forgot about the worries in the world. His mom was one of the richest person in the planet but he would never trade anything for this simple normal life that he had. He loved his life. It was complicated but complete.
Then Ben had to die protecting Peter. Bleeding in his arms, as he took his last breath. Maybe this is how he felt back then as well? Numb? Did he cry? was he angry? He doesn’t remember much. when he came to his senses he was in the hospital and his mom was hugging him…saying he was safe? What are you doing here mom? Where is Ben? Why is May crying? Why are we in the hospital?
May died two weeks after Ben’s funeral. They said it was an accident. Said some drunk asshole ran into her. Said she would have survived, if they brought her sooner. Maybe she planned it all. She knew she couldn’t do it without Ben because peter knows he couldn’t do it without Ben. Ben was not his father but it was the closest thing he had to one.
Maybe Peter killed them,His luck killed them all. PETER PARKER STARK was a curse. It was the truth he believed. And that’s what he saw.
As if the universe was mocking him saying isn’t this what you always wanted? Peter was finally with his mom.
The media had a field day when the news broke out.

Peter didn’t care about a lot stuffs that was happening in his life. He didn’t care he lived in the tower instead of a tiny apartment in queens. He didn’t care he was one of the richest kids in the world. he didn’t care his uncle Tony made him an entire lab to tinker around. he didn’t care when his therapist said. “it was not his fault and it was all an accident” He is not a curse? He just didn’t care.
He became distant to his mom. He was angry all the time. He hated the big tower he was living, he hated the food that was made by top chefs, he hated the big empty bedroom, he hated almost everything and anything.

That’s when he realised how much he loved the Parker family. He longed for the normality he had with May and Ben. No matter where he goes or whoever he becomes in the future, he will always be a Parker.
But people do move on don’t they? As time passed it got better. He smiled, he was even happy. He spent more time with his mom and uncle. He was still in therapy, He still had nightmares. But he was getting used to this new normal?
It was at this point he wanted to know more about his biological father who was absent since he was born. He knew his dad was Bruce Wayne. His mother never hide that from him. I mean she was only married to him before the divorce. So Peter always knew who he was. Peter had seen him on tv when he was living with Ben and May. Ben used to say he was good man, but May hated him.
He knew how much charity the man does, He knew how many kids he has adopted, he knows how much his uncle Tony hates the man as well. His mom and Bruce divorced seven months before he was born. His mom told him that Bruce loved her the most. Huh? Then why were they divorced? Why didn’t he come and meet him even once? And why is he dating Kyle? And why does he have a biological son with another woman?
The media says Bruce Wayne is a playboy and an arrogant man. Peter knows his uncle Tony is no better but when Tony found pepper he changed and Peter knows Tony would never do that to pepper. His mom told him it was she who initiated the divorce. But He knows his mom has left out a lot of details.
Peter learned from his uncle Tony that after Jason’s death his mom couldn’t hold it together. She was devastated. His mom loved all of the kids like her own and Jason was so dear to her. She still talked about the manor, how much she cherished the library, the mansion, the boys and how Alfred took care of the entire household and is still doing.
The more he listened to his mom the more he realised how much his mom loved them all. And the more he heard it the more he grew bitter towards Bruce and the kids. Maybe it was jealousy? He didn’t care. He thought he deserves a huge family as well. Mom, Dad, brothers, sisters, uncles ,aunts and cousins. But somewhere in his heart he didn’t wanted to meet them at all. They didn’t want him, so he doesn’t need them either. He was happy how things are now.
Peter grew comfortable around his new life again. The universe decided to stir up his life. Again.
Peter remembered clearly what happened that day. Tony tried to stop him as he ran out of the tower. He needed some time alone to cool down. How could his mom do that to him? After all the years of waiting ? And now she expects to send him away again?
He has had fights with his mom before. She was a just as stubborn and arrogant like Tony. After all she was a stark. Sometimes he wondered are all rich people like this? When he came back he never thought of checking on his mom again. He was too mad to even look at her. A week went by him giving cold shoulder to almost anyone who tried to talk to him.
Tony has had enough. he told peter can’t go out until he solve what was between him and his mom. It was taking a toll on everyone in the tower, including him. Peter promised he would talk it out tomorrow. He thought he could convince his mom tomorrow. Tomorrow will be fine. like every time they fought and make up the other day? If things don’t go as he planned he can ask Tony to convince her. She would listen, she would understand right? Tomorrow..
Tomorrow never came for Emma.
His mom had a weak heart. Even the media knows how bad her health was. She has been hospitalised a lot. Which was also one of the reasons why Emma didn’t want Peter to stay with her.
But she was doing okay. Peter knew she was doing better than before. Tony and Dr. Banner set up a whole new lab to help her. She was supposed to be fine. They both were the best scientists the world has. Peter knew she was going to stay for his high school graduation. He knew she was going to watch him get into MIT. She was going be there for him and watch him grow up. Peter knew all of this was going to happen. Or he hoped?
He lost the people who loved him again to fate. And this time he was sure that it was him who did this. It was the mere existence of Peter Parker stark. That’s what killed her. It was no heart attack it was no heart failure. It was him. It was him. It was all him.
There is only so much a 12 year old can comprehend at this point. All Peter felt was numb. He wasn’t even sure if he was there or not. Peter stood still at his mom’s funeral. He didn’t cry, he didn’t mourn. He just stood there still, watching people offer their condolences and prayers.
“He has been informed master Peter. He is caught up in a very difficult situation sir”
Alfred sounded apologetic. The butler could only do so much cover up Bruce Wayne’s fuck ups
“I am sure he is on his way sir”
Alfred never left his side. There were 2 other guys who were also present. He recognised Richie or Dick like the others call him. He thinks Dick spoke to him at one point, But he didn’t pay attention to what he was saying. All he could think was his mom is gone and it was his fault. He shouldn’t have left her alone. he should’ve have stayed with her and cleared it up. Now how can he ask for her forgiveness? He should’ve checked on her the previous night. It was all his fault.
They all waited for the man, he never wanted to see. The man whom his mother loved. The man who is his father. The man who apparently loved his mother the most.
The man who didn’t show up to Emma’s funeral. His mother’s funeral.
The man who now has custody of him!
Tony was not happy about it. But it was Emma’s last wish that Bruce will have custody over Peter. And he didn’t want to interfere in it.
As funeral was over Alfred stood near the car waiting for Peter. Dick and the other guy has already left. Peter came down and sat inside the car without a word. He didn’t respond or react to anything or anyone.
Tony and pepper were devastated to see Peter leave. He was their child. Peter didn’t protest when he got to know he was going to live with Bruce this time. He left without a word. Tony wanted to know what Peter and Emma argued about. But he knows now is not the time. Although he was worried about Peter, he couldn’t do much. Peter was willing to go. He promised Peter that he would come whenever he needs him.
Peter saw in the rear view mirror as he left to Gotham. The sky started getting gloomy. well it’s Gotham, what can you expect? It’s the most fucked up place on the whole planet. He felt tired and even exhausted. He just wants to sleep and never wake up again. Maybe it will hurt less? Yeah. Maybe.
