"Hokage-sama," Shizune voice could be heard as she raised her voice after gently knocking on the thick wooden door of the Konohagakure leader's office. "Your three o'clock date is here."

The main room in the Hokage Tower was dimly lit, not because the curtains were closed to prevent the afternoon sun from dazzling the interior of the office, but because of the piles of papers that had accumulated on the furniture behind and on the desk. Meanwhile the air had the scent of ink and light sweat, like a constant reminder of the important decisions being made within these walls.

The door opened for Shizune to enter with a blonde young woman of 15 or 16 years old behind her, her eyes staring down at the ground, clutching a small scroll to her chest.

Shizune stepped aside, allowing the young kunoichi to approach the desk where Naruto was sitting with his elbows firmly planted on the surface, his forehead resting heavily on his palms. However, his blue eyes looked tired, but the moment he felt their presence, they slammed open, revealing a spark of energy.

He straightened, an almost forced smile spreading across his face as he beckoned them to come closer.

The girl was visibly nervous, but she unfolded the scroll and placed it in front of him, it was a mission report, but not just any one: it was the first one she had produced as a team leader, a Chunins team. The mission had been a success, bandits attacking a village near Konoha had been eliminated and no leaf shinobi lives had been lost, the young woman had demonstrated remarkable leadership and tactical skill that was incredibly detailed in the report, probably thanks to the mental techniques of the girl's clan due she was a Yamanaka, so a part of Naruto wondered how related she was to Ino, but put that doubt aside and continued to analyze the mission report.

"Your teamwork and strategic thinking are commendable," said the son of the fourth Hokage as he finished reading the scroll, putting it down on the desk and looking back at the girl. "You've really come a long way, and the Leaf is lucky to have you, Ichika."

Young Chunin blushed at the praise, her eyes lit up with joy. "Thank you, Hokage-sama," she replied, her voice trembling slightly. "But I couldn't have done it without my team."

Naruto chuckled and his eyes darted to Shizune, who stared back at him with the amusement in his eyes that made him want to snort. To him the young woman was overreacting, acting too nervous or taking the Hokage's compliments with some embarrassment that he couldn't understand where it came from.

A few more comments and questions about the quest were made to the young Chunin, but after the teen girl left, Shizune closed the door behind her and turned to look at the Hokage, lingering on it for a moment while the fun they had just now, wore off.

"Is something wrong, Shizune?" Naruto asked, unable to help but yawn before stretching his body a little, making it crack slightly

"You're working too hard," she said, her tone soft but firm. "You need to take a break."

The blond leader of Konoha sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose "I know," he admitted after another crack of his body as he stretched “But there is much to be done”

That was an understatement, at least one of the large piles of papers behind Naruto dated back to the Sarutobi era, which the Hokage fifth couldn't finish fixing before passing the hat to Naruto. But that didn't change the fact that when Tsunade Senju took the hat, she wanted to find a way to revive the Sandaime to kill him herself due to all the paperwork she had left accumulating by always walking around the village and reading Jiraiya's pornographic books, as well as killing her former teammate and the blond who was 13 years old at the time.

But it wasn't all Hiruzen Sarutobi's fault, a ridiculous amount of paperwork that had also accumulated after his death, it was because of overly ambitious and equally corrupt civilians and shinobi. Not to mention, a good part of it was also the fault of the damn leeches who called themselves Hokage advisors and Danzo's maneuvers to divert resources from Konoha to ROOT.

Too many times Shizune barely managed to stop Tsunade from acting like Orochimaru to get rid of those parasites or from finding a way to torture Danzo and to some extent Hiruzen in the afterlife, at least the last Senju managed to get rid of Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado and sending them to Hōzukijou Castle.

But the rest of the paperwork was the result of the new era of peace between the villages that the power of Naruto and Sasuke imposed effortlessly, since no one could match them, as well as the continuous growth of Konohagakure no Sato that within two or three years maximum will no longer be considered a village, but a small city.

 Shizune nodded in understanding to the 27-year-old Hokage before saying, "That's why I'm here to help you," she said, walking around the desk to stand behind him "Which you seem to forget sometimes," she said in a slightly annoyed tone, then her hands floated over her shoulders, warm and reassuring. "Let me take some of that stress away from you," she offered, as her fingers ran over the knots of tension in her muscles, intending to massage her.

"It's not like I want to forget it," Naruto said as he leaned back a little in his touch, letting out a groan of relief.

Only that healing power proved too effective thanks to the lineage of the fifth Hokage who was both a Senju and an Uzumaki, so her life force was restored as well as the wear and tear of her body, causing her to rejuvenate from her 60s to her 25s. Shizune's smile softened and her eyes filled with affection, but it was not the time to get carried away, so she said, "And you keep us all safe and lead us to a better future," she replied, trying again to get the Hokage to focus on his work as his hands gave her a last, firm grip on her shoulders before retiring "But now, I think it's time for you to get back to work."

The hero of Konoha groaned, the reality of his duties collapsing on him like a tidal wave. "I know, dattebayo," he said, reluctantly having to settle back into his chair, but before she could move, he looked at her with the best pleading look he had "But only five more minutes?"

Shizune rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face didn't waver, she knew his tactics very well. "It's okay," she relented, barely avoiding saying it in a playful voice. "But only because you asked so kindly”

Naruto leaned back again, this time forward with a sigh of pleasure as he felt the black-haired woman's hands again, his eyes closed once more as she began to run down his spine, so her hands slid over his shirt, with her thumbs pressing the tension that had regrouped along his back.

But even so the tension in the room changed, the air became thicker with a mixture of comfort and something else. "You're pretty good at teaching too," he said as if he hadn't heard her, and his voice took on a mocking tone. "Especially when it comes to... other things"

Shizune's cheeks reddened, the double meaning of his words was obvious, she knew what he meant... those stolen moments of passion between them, but the black-haired woman remained professional

"Right now, you need to focus on relaxing and then on your work as a Hokage," she said, her tone a perfect blend of professional and warm, smiling a little at the groan of complaint that the Yondaime's son let out "But later, when the day is over… maybe we can discuss… your others… needs~" she added, giving in.

The promise in her voice was clear, and Naruto couldn't help but have another smile tug at his lips as he straightened up, as well as turning his body and neck a little to get a better look at her. "Is that so?" he joked. "And what could those other needs be?"

Shizune's hands stopped for a moment, her eyes met his, she knew she shouldn't give in, but it wouldn't be the first time they'd done it in the office or while they should be working "I'm sure you can think of a few," she said, lowering her voice to a whisper, but trying to get a serious look at the blue-eyed blond, and failing.

But when the current Hokage's smile widened with more mischief flashing in his eyes, her heart raced.

"Well, I'll try to guess," he said, playing dumb "But maybe you can… I don't know… give me a little hint

Shizune's eyes narrowed as she tried to contain her growing amusement and excitement, she succeeded after a moment so she stepped away from him, allowing him to stand up"You never change, do you?" she said, shaking her head. "Okay, I'll bite... after you've signed the last of these papers and the village is ready for the night, we can... discuss your 'other needs'... in more detail"
