Chapter 1: Prologue - A letter from Baoshan Sanren
Chapter Text
A young boy with golden eyes reached his hand out as a golden bunny jumped towards him. Once the bunny jumped into his hands, it transformed into a letter.
Hanguang-jun,
This letter should reach you once you have fully regained your memories. I know you must be wondering how you’ve managed to remember everything at just 9 years of age, when it should be a huge burden to your body.
I have answers to many of your questions, including the whereabouts of Wei Ying.
In a month, you will receive another bunny. Please use your spirtual energy on the talisman at night, and we will be able to meet.
Sincerely,
Baoshan Sanren.
Chapter 2: Thousand Winds that Blow
Summary:
Lan WangJi wakes up in his 9-year old body with all his memories. Except, that was not in his plans. A good thing, but not in his plans. Also he slaps his uncle and brother across the face. Figuratively (unfortunately).

Chapter Text
Lan WangJi sat in silence as he took in his surroundings. It was his 9-year old body. It was the shared dormitory room he used to have with Lan Xichen. It was the core of an immortal - much stronger than it should after being used to travel back in time - spinning in his body.
He looked at the letter in his hand. Of course, he should have known an immortal such Baoshan Sanren would remember everything. He was grateful that she reached out to him with answers to many of his questions.
turning back time was an impulsive decision, but one that Lan Zhan would never regret. Not when his husband was closer to death than reaching immortality. With Mo XuanYu's core, no matter how much of a genius Wei Ying was, it would be extremely hard to reach immortality.
Wei Ying would always attempt the impossible, and achieve it one way or another. Lan WangJi however, only grew to worry more and more as time passed. Wei Ying had insisted that they find a different way to either achieve immortality or to turn back time. Lan Zhan did not, unsurprisingly, have the patience to wait. Regardless of the backlashes of doing such a stunt, he used his powers to time travel.
Here he was with all his memories and most of his powers. No backlashes suffered. As he wondered how this could be possible, he was immediately presented with a source to answer his many questions.
A month. He just had to be patient for a month.
During this month, he would have to make a few changes. A month wasn’t enough to make large changes. But small ones that helped later on were possible.
Therefore, Lan Zhan’s first step; to change his Shufu’s attitude.
Lan Qiren was thrust into his position of acting sect leader when his brother went into seclusion. The man had only wanted to continue his research, not be a sect leader. Yet here he was bearing this burden while his brother ran away.
Lan Zhan understood that his uncle would hold grudges for being forced act as sect leader, but that did not allow the man to excuse himself as he see fit. He has broken many rules, and if before, Lan Zhan had tried to ignore it thinking his uncle would realise his own mistakes, he wouldn’t anymore.
Lan Qiren had held an old grudge against Cangse Sanren — Wei Ying’s mother. She had cut Lan Qiren’s beard as revenge for putting himself, Wei Changze and Jiang Fengmian in danger during a night hunt. This grudge had passed down to Wei Ying.
Yes, Wei Ying was a troublesome student. But a genius one who would easily have been occupied if given harder problems to solve. All Lan Qiren had to do as a teacher and elder was to talk to the young man and teach him in a way that fits him.
Lan Zhan would now easily say that his uncle was not a good teacher. His pride in his position as acting sect leader and as second master of Gusu Lan Sect left him unable to lower himself down to be lectured, to be questioned and to learn from his own students.
However, he was also a man who was always willing to learn, and especially now, he would be more susceptible to criticism.
It has been two weeks now, since he returned. Lan Zhan was currently making his way to have tea with his brother, Lan Xichen and Lan Qiren. He knocked on the door and waited to be let in. Inside, Lan Xichen gave him a gentle, warm smile, and Lan Qiren gave him a nod in greeting.
Though Lan Zhan had made his resolve to change things starting from Lan Qiren, he had no idea on where exactly to start. He, currently a 9 year old couldn’t start spouting out rules his uncle had broken in the past or in the future (the previous timeline), nor could he criticise him with his supposed limited knowledge of the sect affairs. His age was both an advantage and disadvantage.
But he persisted, for Wei Ying, he needed to make this place home. Everything Wei Ying would not like, he would remove.
Lan Xichen was talking about his recent visit to the Unclean Realm — Nie Sect. He talked about his small adventures with Nie Mingjue and tantrums from Nie Huaisang.
“Hmph, if it wasn’t for being a sect heir, I would never approve of the second young master of Nie.” Lan Qiren scoffed.
Lan WangJi and Lan Xichen paused in their actions. Lan Xichen awkwardly smiled and tried to change the subject. Lan WangJi frowned. He knew his uncle had been one to break rules and never truly the good person he had grown up thinking he was. But this still surprised him. Nie Huaisang was but a child now, and no child needed to force himself to be someone he was not.
Yet, everything about the Gusu Lan Sect was just that. One could never be their true self.
“Do not look down on the young. Do not talk behind one’s back. Do not sneer for no reason. Do not shout. Do not lose your patience. Do not disrespect others. Do not look down on other’s path.”
”WangJi?” Lan Qiren scowled. Lan Xichen looked at him in absolute shock. This was the first time his younger brother had spoken so much, and it was to recite the rules.
“Shufu has broken many rules.” Lan WangJi answered calmly. His voice childish yet holding a certain weight to it.
“You! Do not disrespect your elders!” Lan Qiren pointed at him in anger.
“It is not disrespect Shufu. It is the truth. Nie-er-gongzi has talents in other areas and should be encouraged to pursue them. He is an extremely smart individual and should be praised for it, rather than belittled just because he has no interest in cultivation. As an elder and teacher, Shufu should encourage his students to learn what they want and help them, not scold them and hold strong to your own beliefs. We have rules becuase they are guidelines to help us on our path to righteousness. Rules that depict that we should not shout, when to sleep, not to show too much emotions are not to be followed strictly, but as guildlines. We should not shout unnecessarily, for it disturbs other's peace, but it does not mean one cannot be boisterous. We should sleep at 9 and rise at 5, because it gives the right amount of sleep, but that does not mean we should not rest when we are tried and rise when we are recovered. We should not show too much emotions, for we have to stay calm in stressful situations, not that we should not be able to express ourselves."
Lan WangJi took in a breath before continuing,
"We have been hurting ourselves and others through these unnecessary rules. Many of the rules are not required to be followed, but just guidelines that should exist for people to direct to when needed. Rules such as 'Stay righteous' are ones that should stay carved on the Wall of Rules, others should be a thought to keep in mind. One shouldn't be punished for being themselves. One shouldn't be punished for breaking rules in times of need, because they believed they were doing the right thing. One shouldn't be punished under our rules when they are not a part of our sect. The guest disciples should follow our rules, but they have no need to know them deeply as they are not a part of the clan. Instead of making disciples do handstands, write the rules several times, or hit them with the disciple ruler, they should be allowed to state their reason for breaking rules. If it is a good one, a reasonable one, they should either be excused or their punishment should be reduced. If it is not a good one, they should be allowed to deal with the consequences themselves instead of letting them off with a simple punishment such as writing a 100 times."
"But if you strictly insist on following the ways of the sect now, Shufu has broken many rules and has not once punished himself for them. He should be severely punished. If our ancestors, from Lan An to several sect leaders later on had seen no reason to add more than a hundred rules to it, why are we to believe that the 1000s of rules added later by greedy sect elders are worth any attention. Why is it that the elders have a higher say in sect matter than the sect leader? The elders are only there to provide their opinions from different perspective and help the sect leader with his work, not have more power than the sect leader. Many of the elders were never required, and many of them are even corrupt."
Lan WangJi stopped. There was more he wanted to say, but he had put down his main points. He barely had any patience to stay with these two, past grudges still strong, yet he had said more words than he ever had in his life now to make them realise their mistakes.
"WangJi..." Lan Xichen had no idea what to say. His brother had spoken so much for the first time and it was to scold the both of them for their hypocrisy. He slowly processed the many words his brother had said, looking at his shocked, frozen-in-shock uncle.
lan Qiren blinked several times as he took in what his nephew said. Everything was true. Every word hit him harshly in the face. He realised that even he had been corrupted by the elders in his sect. As much as wanted to refute everything Lan WangJi had said, he couldn't- not when he knew it was the truth- not when those very rules had ingrained into him to never lie.
not even to himself.
oh, but hasn't he been doing that exactly? Hasn't he been justifying his stubbornness, his actions, his many lack of manners by lying to himself. That he was the acting sect leader, he had a bit more leeway than others. Hadn't he convinced himself that he was raising his nephews properly, when deep down he knew that many times his words and presence had influenced them wrongly?
Hadn't he felt his every action justified for being forced into his position as sect leader? Hadn't he prided himself for being a strict elder, the very epitome of righteousness, while, here he was — realising his mistakes becuase of a 9 year old. The very nephew he had raised, who had turned out to be better than him. (He felt pride take over him, but pressed it down to to focus on more important matters.)
"Shufu." Lan Qiren turned to WangJi again. He awaited what the young man had to say.
"Shufu, it is difficult to change everything in the sect, but you must strive for this change. Remove rules, ignore the elders, remove the corrupt ones from their positions. Add rules you feel are still important but not important enough to be on the Wall of Rules to a book of guidelines. There are many changes we can make, and no matter how much time it would take, I have strong belief that Shufu and Xiongzhang will realise their mistakes and take action."
The young boy raised, bowed and went out. His steps slower than before, clearly having used most of his energy to get these words out.
Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen sat in contemplation as they watched the small back of their nephew and Didi disappear from their sight.
Notes:
I just added whatever rules I thought would be there along with existing ones we know about. I planned to write more but I think this is good enough. The next chapter will likely be longer, covering many things that happen in the next two weeks, as well as Lan WangJi finally meeting Boashan Sanren and his wife.
Chapter 3: Empty Fields and Soaring Clouds
Summary:
Changes are slow, very slow. And so is time spent without Wei Ying. But finally, Lan Zhan has him in his arms again.

Chapter Text
Two weeks later.
Changes were slow. Slower than the movement of the clouds and the changes in the fields. People took a very long time to change. It was no different with Lan Zhan’s uncle and brother. Lan Qiren though yet to take action against elders, or properly receive punishment has started to question things more. A very subtle, almost imperceptible change. Lan Xichen, on the other hand, has come to Lan Zhan to talk. Not to receive answers to his problems, but just to speak. He talked about everything that he was made to do in his position as sect heir and contemplated them and how they go against Gusu’s very foundations.
They were slow, but even Lan Zhan had not expected them to turn around for the better immediately. Especially not his uncle, who was stubborn enough to believe he was still in the right after putting several people in danger and making wrong judgments. Speaking of which, Lan Zhan had been surprised in his previous life to learn why Lan Qiren hated Wei Ying so much. Lan Qiren, Wei Changze, Cangse Sanren, and Jiang Fengmian had gone on a night hunt together. When they were in danger, Cangse Sanren saved them, while Lan Qiren was the reason — he had stuck to the rules like a fool. As revenge for his unrelenting behaviour, Cangse Sanren had cut off his beard, something he was very proud of. Lan Zhan felt like laughing when the old healer had told him of it.
Lan Zhan stopped the swinging of his sword. It was time for his next lessons. He, along with the other disciples bowed to the teacher and made their way to the Lanshi. It was the same old routine of a young Lan disciple. Something Lan Zhan remembered vividly despite how long it’s been. These years had cemented in him habits that were hard to change.
There was however one thing that would change tonight. A night he would have to stay up late to wait for the immortal, Boashan Sanren’s letter. The night he would finally meet his Wei Ying.
In the afternoon, while having his daily tea time with Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen, he was asked questions about the 3000 rules of Gusu. Mainly, which ones were of no use. Lan Zhan happily wrote down every rule that was removed in his previous life. He had temporarily taken over as acting sect leader. Lan Xichen had continued to stay in seclusion for several years, and Lan Qiren had been 'forced' out of his position by Lan Zhan. He could no longer take his uncle's attitude towards Wei Ying and used his position and power as chief cultivator.
Two years later, Lan Xichen came out of seclusion and took over the mantle once again. Maintaining for five years, the sect was passed on to Lan JingYi, who was related by blood. During these years, Lan Zhan learned politics despite his dislike.
Along with unnecessary rules, he added suggestions that would further help the sect. He mentioned the ones that would especially make Wei Ying proud. Gusu Lan wouldn't be their home. It couldn't be, after everything that had occurred. But, it was a place they would return to when in need of rest. So, it needed to be perfect. It needed to be happier.
...
It was night, just before curfew. Little Lan Zhan knew he would need to stay up at least till midnight and maybe even later to get the letter. He should have probably done this in the past month. But Lan Zhan had been occupied with changing his Uncle and Brother's beliefs and worrying about Wei Ying to remember someone so... unfortunately insignificant.
His father. Qingheng-Jun. Insignificant. Someone he had only cried for when he died. Someone he had never spoken to, seen or heard about.
He wouldn't speak to him. Not today. He didn't know how long it would take to properly convince his father to return from seclusion and start doing his job as sect leader and father. The spell that would allow him to make someone remember the past and share his own memories would take a long time, even with his immortal powers. So he would do just that and speak to him later.
Lan Zhan snuck out of his room, avoiding the patrolling disciples. (Thankfully, his position as sect heir allowed him a single room.)An easy task for him with his powers and the fact that he used to be responsible for patrolling as well. He quickly made his way to his father's room.
He completely concealed his presence once there, made his way through the wards and approached his meditating father. Slowly, he extended his small hands, drawing out his spiritual power. The cold blue light lit up the dark room forming several layers of spells on the back of his father.
Inhale. Breathe. Calmly. Slowly.
“When making spells out of your spiritual energy, especially complicated ones, the important thing is to be calm, slow and steady.” Wei Ying had said.
He would be meeting Wei Ying, but no matter how much he wanted to hurry, he had to be calm.
…
An hour later.
Lan Zhan opened his eyes. The spell was complete. His father had already started recovering his memories. Qingheng-Jun — Lan YanShu was frowning, sweat framing his brows. Lan Zhan looked on, taking in the details of his father's face for a few minutes. The last time he had seen his father, he was pale, not breathing. Now, he still looked just as pale.
He sighed and moved on. He was tired, but he would have to stay up.
...
The wait now was even more agonising, with nothing to keep him occupied. Around midnight, a golden bunny appeared.
Finally the letter arrived. As soon as it was in his hands, Lan Zhan opened the letter. There was nothing written on it, but he could feel spiritual energy gathering, and soon a blinding white light covered everything. Thankfully, he had made the right decision to get out of his dorm, or this would have alerted many. Once the white light vanished, he opened his eyes.
It was a mountain. It was morning. No longer night. The dazzling sun rays lit up the luscious green grass, and the shining fruit. The flowers swayed in a happy dance with the wind. The white clouds soared past, reflected in the rippling water of the stream. It was connected to a large waterfall, for he could hear the loud rushing of water not far from here. He turned his head in that direction.
Yes, indeed there was a waterfall. A large one, covering the mountain side like a silk curtain. And there, in front of that waterfall, not far from where Lan Zhan sat on the ground, was a beautiful pavilion. Surrounded by a variety of colourful flowers, large trees and many animals – it looked like the dwelling of an immortal.
And it was, for the woman in white standing there smiling at Lan Zhan must be Baoshan Sanren, the immortal grandmaster of Wei Ying. The one who held his heart's treasure and the answers to his many questions.
“Lan WangJi, It is nice to finally meet you. I'm sorry it took so long."
Notes:
I’m sorry, Lan Zhan didn’t meet Wei Ying in this chapter after all.

Chapter Text
“Lan WangJi, It is nice to meet you finally. I'm sorry it took so long." Baoshan Sanren greeted him with a gentle smile. She lent a hand to the young boy who bowed in return, "It is my honour to meet you, Immortal."
Baoshan Sanren laughed, waving her hand. "We're both immortals, and you are one much stronger than me. There is no need for such formality between us."
Lan Zhan's boyish face was expressionless, but the immortal seemed to read his heart. She led him into the cottage, offering him tea and that she would explain once he had seen Wei Ying —the mention of whom made Lan Zhan glow with anticipation.
"I managed to find Wei Wuxian not long ago. By now, the child has already been on the streets for a long time and is still recovering." In the inner room of the simple and elegant cottage, a boy was wrapped up in blankets, sleeping peacefully. Wei Wuxian's chest rose in steady rhythm with his breath. Immediately, Lan Zhan rushed to his side, examining him closely. Wei Ying was malnourished, his cheeks sunken in and pale. Yet, the boy seemed content as he lay in the bed.
Lan WangJi dared not touch him for fear of waking him. He looked to Baoshan Sanren who stood at the entrance for more explanation. All his questions would be answered by her.
Baoshan Sanren smiled at the display of worry and care, gesturing him to follow her. They sat down at the table and Boashan served tea to the both of them. "As an immortal, I too can sense the change in the timeline. I managed to find the source of this disturbance by tracking the overflowing energy as we went back in the past."
It was an arduous task, but she managed to pinpoint Lan WangJi's and Wei Ying's location. Once she did, she also managed to extract enough of Lan WangJi's spiritual energy to see a few of his memories.
"In your memories, I saw the most important moments to you. While I couldn't see everything, I decided to find Wei Wuxian first. Along the way, I sent a message to you so that I could talk to you once I had found him."
Baoshan Sanren described her encounter with Wei Wuxian while he was sleeping in the streets, hiding from the dogs. She had looked into his memories once she found him, not expecting to find out that he was Cangse Sanren's child.
"I truly regret not keeping up with Cangse. To think she had a child and he had gone through such injustice." Her tone was cold as she recited some of Wei Ying's past life memories. Ones that showed the way he was abused in the Jiang Sect as a child. As he faced the scorn of the world and accepted his fate. As he lost his family twice.
Lan WangJi held himself back from breaking the teacup in his hand, steadily placing it on the table with a small thud.
"I also saw you and just how much you've done for him. I am sorry for what happened in the end. I had stayed in the celestial mountain away from the mortal world as I found it full of filth. Yet, I failed my duty as an immortal to clear the world of such filth and let my children suffer."
Baoshan Sanren took a sip of the tea and sighed, "Cangse was like my own child. But no matter how much I loved her, I did not want to give her preferential treatment, cutting off all contact once she left the mountain. I made the same mistake with Xingchen. But-"
She bowed to Lan WangJi, "I will not repeat my mistakes. I shall fulfil my part as an immortal. And that of course starts with taking care of Wen Ruohan, the sect leader of the Wen."
Lan WangJi stilled for a moment before he bowed as well, "Baoshan Sanren was not at fault. She was just following her faith, even if flawed. I thank you for offering your help, but you do not need to force yourself-"
"I am not." Baoshan looked at Lan WangJi, "I am not forcing myself. I have just realised my true mission as an immortal. And to make up for my negligence, I will be starting with Wen Ruohan. Which also happens to involve helping you." She smiled while Lan WangJi stayed quiet. He wouldn't go against her decision, one that was so firm and resembled Wei Ying's stubborn nature.
"Now, I'm sure you're curious about why you retain your memories and power when you were only supposed to remember at a suitable age"
Baoshan Sanren turned serious once again. This was indeed what had worried WangJi the most. Knowing that Baoshan Sanren would look for Wei Ying and take care of him, his only worry was whether Wei Ying would also have received his memories. If he did, it wouldn't be good for the child, even though Lan Zhan was fine.
"Lan WangJi, have you ever heard about the Gusu Lan dragons?"
Lan Zhan stared at her in curiosity as he shook his head, seeking further explanation.
"I guess they do not teach you anymore. But, years ago, when the sect was found, your ancestor Lan An, who must now be known as nothing but a monk, was actually a dragon."
Lan Zhan's eyes widened, his young face making it even more adorable. Baoshan Sanren laughed, reaching out to gently poke his cheek. "Throughout the years, the dragon blood has faded and no one has been able to activate it. But you did. Because you are an immortal. One who suffered so much grief– you broke through the barrier of heaven and changed the timeline."
Lan Zhan was unresponsive as to most things, but this time it was because of the ridiculous story, or rather, the truth he had just heard. When Baoshan Sanren told him was stronger, he had kept it aside, worried about Wei Ying. And now it turned out that he was a dragon.
"It is... hard to believe."
a warm, motherly hand pat his head, "I know."
"But don't worry. It doesn't change the fact that you still are Lan WangJi, Lan Zhan and whatever you wish to be." Lan Zhan's lips twitched in minuscule, an unnoticeable sign of a smile. Indeed. Of course, it was still hard to accept but not something he hates. This would help him even more.
”I remember because I am a dragon descendent?”
”Yes. So you don’t need to worry about Wei Wuxian remembering until he is strong enough. Or…” Baoshan looked at him for a few minutes, seemingly contemplating whether or not to tell him.
”please do tell me.”
She slowly nodded her head, “You can control the array you placed on Wei Wuxian, can’t you?” Lan Zhan’s lips twitched. Indeed, in case anything went wrong, he made it so he could also manually control the recovery of memories.
”Will then, whether or not Wei Wuxian gets his memories back at all… is up to you.”
He could let Wei Ying grow up and achieve greatness without his memories holding him back any further or, respect Wei Ying’s own choice and give him his memories. Lan Zhan stayed silent.
He would always give the best to Wei Ying, and that naturally included Wei Ying's own choices. So... it was better to wait for Wei Ying to choose. Though he hoped Wei Ying would never have to carry the burden of the past, even if it meant only he remembered.
"As long as you both are happy, I won't interfere with your decisions." Boashan Sanren said.
"Now, as for how long you'll stay here-"
Baoshan Sanren did not leave him with time to process all the information, doing most of the talking.
——————
According to Baoshan Sanren, he could stay here for two days and go back to the sect in the morning. Time flowed differently in the celestial mountain, so he did not have to worry about being absent from his quarters.
He was now sitting in a lotus position and meditating, waiting for Wei Ying to wake up. Soon, he heard the rustling of clothes. On the bed, Wei Ying —thin and pale— had awakened, gently sitting up in a daze. His hair was a bit of a mess, covering his face, looking like a child ghost. Clearing the hair out of his face, he looked around, finding the source of footsteps approaching him.
He paused as he looked at the golden eyes of a young boy in white robes. The eyes were bright yet the face was freezingly cold. But Wei Ying felt that this person held nothing but affection for him, as he gently approached.
Cautiously holding Wei Ying's hand, Lan WangJi introduced himself, "I am Lan Zhan. It is nice to meet you, Wei Ying."
It is nice to meet you, in another life, in another timeline, with different appearances.
Your eyes still shine like the moonlight from that night.
Notes:
So uhh, I got busy… with my mental health. But I’m back. No matter how slow my posts are, you can stay confident that I WILL complete this fanfic!
While I’m at it, I’d like to address the ‘Jiang Sect/family bashing’ tag.
I personally don’t like any of the Jiang family members because they remind me too much of my family ( manipulation, physical and mental abuse, constant comparison etc..)
This is kind of my way to take my anger and frustration out on the characters. I plan to explain in detail in future chapters why I see certain characters (specifically Jiang YanLi who is mostly kind) the way I see them!
Chapter Text
When Wei Ying opened his eyes, he saw a boy with pretty golden eyes looking at him.
The eyes were bright, the face was freezingly cold. But Wei Ying felt that this person held nothing but affection for him, as he gently approached.
Cautiously holding Wei Ying's hand, Lan WangJi introduced himself, "I am Lan Zhan. It is nice to meet you, Wei Ying."
The cautious hand held him gently and a mellow childish voice called out his name with all the affection in the world. The still barely awake Wei Ying was unable to process what was happening, but he knew a pretty Gege had just greeted him.
"It is nice to meet you too, Lan Zhan!"
He jumped out of bed and held both of Lan Zhan's hands. "Why are you here? Did WaiPo bring you here too? I came here a few weeks ago, what about you-?"
Wei Ying couldn't hold back his curiosity to know more about Lan Zhan. He asked all the questions that came to his mind at once, and then waiting for Lan Zhan to answer.
"I am here to visit."
"Yes."
"A few hours ago."
And he did answer each question with patience. Their hands were wound tightly together. Slowly, Lan Zhan brought Wei Ying over to a privacy screen,
"Wait here. I'll bring you bath water."
Wei Ying nodded waiting obediently, but bouncing on his feet. Just as Lan Zhan was about to reach the door, Wei Ying's WaiPo - Baoshan Sanren opened the door, carrying a bucket of hot water. She smiled gently, "I thought you'd be awake. Here, I brought some water for you to wash up. Get ready quickly and then you can play with your new friend."
She placed the tub behind the screen and pushed Wei Ying forward.
Wei Ying was reluctant to stay away from his newly made friend, but had to watch as Baoshan Sanren led Lan Zhan out. Lan Zhan also looked back plenty of times. His moments were slow, allowing them to make eye contact. Finally, after the door closed, Wei Ying quickly washed up and got ready, excitement beaming out of him. He ran outside and saw Lan Zhan sitting and drinking tea.
Lan Zhan looked back at him even before he called out. "Lan Zhan, I'm here!"
lan Zhan nodded, his eyes gentle and face relaxed. Wei Ying couldn't help but admire him. Baoshan Sanren appeared once again, this time with breakfast in her hands. She looked at the two children sitting close together. Wei Ying was chattering away as Lan Zhan listened intently.
"A-Ying, Lan Zhan is only here to visits for a few days. So make sure you enjoy." As soon as she said this, Wei Ying's lips formed a pout. Lan Zhan quickly tried to comfort him, "I will visit every month."
"How long will you stay?" Wei Ying asked.
"Two more days." He looked even more upset but seemed to be trying to hold back.
"Alright. You have to visit every month, okay?"
"Mn. Promise." Lan Zhan knew that Wei Ying was still very upset. A part of him was happy that Wei Ying liked him so much on their first meeting, and the other part was unhappy to see him sad.
To cheer him up, Lan Zhan wandered around the celestial mountain with Wei Ying. Having been here for longer, his smart Wei Ying had long memorised the layout of the mountain.
They first went to the disciples quarters. There Lan Zhan spotted a 17 years old Xiao Xingchen.
"Shishu! Shishu! Look, this is Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan, this Shishu - Xiao Xingchen."
Wei Ying introduced them. Lan Zhan bowed politely. They had not interacted much, but this was a person who was connected to Wei Ying, and now someone Wei Ying clearly liked.
They didn't talk much. Soon, Xiao Xingchen would be leaving the celestial mountain, something Wei Ying was upset about, but didn't want to show.
They didn't talk much. Wei Ying got close to people easily, but even he took time to completely warm up to them.
The little tour was short, and took up an hour and a half. They still had plenty of time before they met with Baoshan Sanren for lunch. In this time, Wei Ying decided they should explore the other areas of the mounatin that even he had yet to see.
Lan Zhan wasn't worried about them getting hurt, slowly following behind Wei Ying watching the child's small footsteps.
A small Wei Ying, away from the Jiang's influence was different. He was still energetic, but his smiles seemed just as genuine as they were after his resurrection in the past future. His personality wasn't being used as a coverup for Jiang Cheng's fault, instead shining like the ever present sun rays. Wei Ying's eyes lit up with every small thing he found amusing. Lan Zhan couldn't help
Notes:
From now on I'll be positing a few chapters of them hanging out throughout the years, till they are still teenagers. LZ and BSSR working on stopping WRH will also be written.
While I'm at it, I had an Idea for another fix, and I wanted your opinion on it. I don't plan to work on it while writing this, but I really want to get at least once hatter out of my brain.
LZ from the modern times reincarnates into the book 'The Great Jiang Sect', where the Jiangs are the best of the best people, and WY is a villain. What I want to know is whether you guys would like
1. Lan WangJi as love interest for Jiang Cheng
2. LZ falls in love with WY and then with JC
3. Is not a love interest. All 3 of these are for the book 'The Great Jiang Sect'. I hate Jiang Cheng x Lan Zhan.
I also figured out a schedule where I can post more often. It will take another two weeks at least for me to be able to, but the basic idea is that I post at least 2 times a week.
Or I post once a week for slightly longer chapters. Or no posts at all. (That will be when I have exams or may get caught up with other things).
