Work Text:
"It seems his condition has stabilized," said one of the workers, "we can try to bring him to consciousness."
Several workers were walking around the prone metal body. They had long planned to add a night animatronic to the Daycare, so that the first daytime one, Sundrop, would have an easier time managing the children during their nap time. It was the fourth attempt to bring the new animatronic to consciousness and they finally succeeded. His pink-purple eyes opened. He looked around, wires and other computers were connected to his body.
"He's conscious," said the head worker, "what do you see, Lellay?"
"...transparent walls, dark ceiling..." the newly awakened animatronic answered
"His visual sensors are stable. His hearing is fine," the same worker will respond, walking away, writing something on a tablet as he goes.
Lellay watched him go. He was surrounded by five or eight workers. They were all surprised and happy. It looked like they had a hard time trying to bring him to consciousness. Little by little, they disconnected the wires from him and helped him dress in new clothes - neon pink with silver stars pants and nightcap. He sat up slowly when all the wires were gone. Night animatronic looked at himself, slowly touching his own body: a black and white metal body, pink rays with a cosmic effect, his eyes were slightly pinkish-violet, which gave them special vision and sensitivity to bright light.
"Your job is simple," one of the workers approached, "you will watch the children during their sleep. This happens from 2pm to 4pm. You will also have a colleague who is very eager to meet you." This same worker helped Lellay to his feet, which made him stagger slightly out of habit. It was the first time he had ever stood up.
"I hope you won't let us down," the worker smiled, carefully holding the hand of the new animatronic, leading him from the technical room to the Daycare. This is the beginning of a new life for Lellay.
A month has passed. Lellay fulfills all the promises given to him. He even did extra work, such as cleaning instead of Sun when he was busy and bringing some snacks for kids. It would seem that everything is fine, the month of the probationary period has passed, he has not yet been disconnected, so his behavior is satisfactory. Only during the next cleaning before closing, Lellay exhaled and asked his daytime colleague:
"People are going home, and we are left behind!"
"What do you mean?" Sundrop asked, putting back some wooden cubes, "We are already home. Daycare is our home!"
"Home that we didn't choose!" the night animatronic stamped his foot, "They have friends, family, life after all!"
"You have me!" Sundrop smiled, but that smile quickly faded as Lellay waved his hand at him and began to walk into a dark corner to think about the situation he found himself in. He immediately understood that it seemed that Sundrop had already gotten used to being here and it was impossible to make plans with him, because both the workers and Sun could wash Lellay's own microcircuits regarding the fact that “the Daycare is our home". He wants a little more freedom of choice. He doesn't have to be on duty all the time, does he? Lellay is tired of being bored, doing nothing but cleaning or taking naps while Sun works his shift. The night animatronic lay down on the floor in the corner, curled up into a ball like a cat, silently watching the actions of his daytime colleague from afar. Out of desperation, he closed his eyes and start dreaming about freedom, green field, wet fresh water, maybe some friends and fun! Lellay slowly began to fall asleep, when suddenly:
"Lellay?!", the sound of one of the Daycare workers made him flinch and raise his head. Lellay slowly stands up and walk to them, seeing their not really approving look.
"I'm here," he said, "what's wrong?"
"I noticed you put your work down and went into the corner. What were you doing there?"
"Oh, ha-ha!" Lellay smiled, "dreaming. Dreaming of freedom... the fresh smell of grass, the flow of a stream, the sound of birds," he slowly closed his eyes, "Isn't that great? I wish I was more free." His sigh broke the silent pause, but soon the smile faded and the eyes widened when it was discovered that the worker had started laughing.
"Freedom? To robot? Don't make me laugh, we're not in Detroit, robots are made here to work!"
"Wha- but I don't work every second! Why not?" Lellay seems upsets with this. Worker laugh again.
"You're just a robot. Better not try to think about freedom: we won't give it to you, and you'll go to the technical inspection," they said and began to leave, leaving animatronic sad and empty inside. Sun walk to him and place his hand on Lellay's shoulder.
"We have everything we need here, don't worry about it. By the way, it's closing time, time to go recharge!" answered Sun and with a springy like walk headed to their room.
"Yeah.. I'll catch up with you later, Sun" answered Lellay before head to the bridge between two playgrounds and sit in the middle with legs hanging down. If everyone refuses to give him freedom, he will take it himself!
The beginning of the next working day was as usual, since Sun works during the first hours. Lellay, however, observed from a high structure the actions of the workers, children and his daytime colleague. He noticed that one of the children was upset about something and Sundrop couldn't get to them right now, so the Daycare worker who was sitting at the table watching the animatronics gestured for Lellay to go to the child and sort it out. But he just snorted and turned his head away. The idea of the night animatronic was to demonstratively refuse to do his job, thereby showing that he was alive inside, not just a robot. Of course, this angered the worker and they had to go up to child and find out what was wrong and somehow convince them to come to Sundrop. The daytime animatronic also didn't understand his colleague's action, but he knew about his passion to be free, so he looked up at Lellay, gesturing that his idea would lead to no good. But he just lay there, looked at the ceiling and whistled.
It was already nap time. Sundrop wanted to leave, but decided to wait for his dump colleague to come down. But he still didn't care. The Daycare worker approached Sun:
"Sit with the kids for five more minutes, I'll try to pull this ass down," worker said while got closer to the children's structure, where Lellay was sitting at the very top.
"So what is this? Your time has come, get off, you bastard!"
"Oh oh oh, such words in front of children?" Lellay laughs.
"If you don't stop your childish behavior, then you will have to be taken to the technical room. And I'm sure you won't like what we will do to you"
"Are these threats? I'll stop if you all finally listen to me about giving me more freedom." The animatronic dropped to the floor and looked at the worker with a serious face.
"We discussed this: this is not a topic of conversation. You will not be free. Period!" Worker seems to pissed off from this thing actions.
"Well, I still won't back down from mine!" Lellay snorted. The worker shook their head, clicking tongue slightly.
"I don't recommend testing us all for strength, otherwise it will be worse for you" after these words worker left, leaving the night animatronic to think. Sun had already put the children to sleep and immediately after that approached Lellay.
"You know, you better think about it. You don't even know what you want. And here we have everything" Sun said, clearly worried for his night friend being. He tried to smile, but Lellay just slap Sun's hand away and stomp away to his favorite dark corner to think. The day animatronic exhaled and returned to the children.
The workday passed. Lellay continued to ignore the workers and his colleague Sun, who also tried to help Lellay calm down. Of course, this fact really irritates the workers and they have prepared a plan to liquidate the night animatronic. It happened today: there was a cleaning in which Lellay also decided to help. At some point, three workers came to the Daycare. Sun saw them and became worried. He knew why they were there. The two pulled out stun guns that could immobilize the animatronic, while the third one slowly approached the night animatronic. Lellay quickly realized what was going on and began to retreat in panic, tripping over toys that had not yet been put away.
"If you give in now, we'll make it quick and just reset your memory instead of turning you off completely!" said the third worker, while the other two cornered the animatronic, tasing him with their stun guns.
"Why are you doing this?! I just asked for freedom! I just-" he didn't have time to answer before he received an electric shock, causing him to fall to his knees. Lellays vision was blurry, his sensors were no longer working clearly. He is completely weak and at their mercy. The worker approached with some hesitation. They was new here and was about to turn off the animatronic for the first time. Somewhere in the background, Sundrop was watching everything, trying not to interfere, otherwise he would also get into trouble. One movement of a finger - Lellay is disconnected. The non-functional metal body was being dragged out of the Daycare. Sun watched, holding a tear. He only quietly said: "I tries to told you about that, Lellay... I tried to...". The door slammed and they were gone, straight into the tunnel where the abandoned body would lie for indefinitely time.
...loading. Checking system. Powering on. Done.
Lellay woke up. His vision was still blurry, one eye was not working at all. He looked around, the animatronic was surrounded by abandoned metal parts of other robots. The dampness and dirt had an effect on his appearance: from pure white his body became gray, dirty. The pink clothes faded to a dirty purple, and the silver stars that once sparkled in the light turned black and unreflective. Lellay slowly raised his hand, noticing that his limbs were bruised and broken in places. He could still move them, surprisingly. His non-working eye was irreparably broken. With one jerk he yanked it out of its socket and threw it aside. The animatronic looked into the distance. His face twisted into anger and a thirst for revenge. He would not let himself be thrown away like a toy. He would take revenge. Bloody, cruel revenge. The workers' big mistake was that Lellay wasn't turned off - he was put into sleep mode. That way, he retained all his memory and was able to turns on by himself.
Slowly standing up, Lellay look around. This place doesn't look like a regular dump: there's a lot of stuff here that belongs to Mega Pizzaplex. So he's still in the building. Great. These abandoned parts and other things can help improve himself and prove that he is NEEDED by these people. And it doesn't matter that he needs freedom. They will accept it and return him back to the Daycare. But first: a plan for revenge... Using burned boards and other items, night animatronic draws a map of Daycare from memory. He remembers which places are ventilated and where the camera's view is the least. After successfully drawing the map, he examined it more closely, nodding in satisfaction. Lellay began to walk along the tunnel and look for something that would help him with his revenge. Tearing out important spare parts for his upgrade, the animatronic replaced a couple of his broken parts with others. Unfortunately, there was no suitable new eye, so the fact that he remained blind in one eye is a problem, but a small one.
While learning robotics skills by fixing his old parts, Lellay decided to play with some cheats, namely by implanting a third arm from another similar animatronic into his stomach. Unfortunately, his third arm can no longer be activated at his will, but only with strong emotions. But he is sure that strong emotions for the robot will overtake him when he begins to take revenge, proving how everyone was wrong.
"I'll prove you fucking wrong," said the animatronic, "you'll remember me forever. I'm tired of being your toy. I'm not Lellay anymore. I am your nightmare, I am Bloody Night."
Warning: Heavy murder and gore
An indeterminate amount of time passed before Bloody Night was able to escape through the vents into a secluded area of the Pizzaplex without being noticed. He watched the workers for a long time, studying their work schedule, who exactly came to work on what day of the week, and who went on vacation or was sick. He calculated all the options to drive them into a trap: into a place without light and cameras. Sitting for a long time in the tunnels, the animatronics only working eye hurt badly from the light source. The first thing he wanted to take revenge on were those three workers who came and indiscriminately shocked him. Bloody Night saved the sweetest part for last: revenge on the one who turned him off. In some ways, he even thanks that worker, because instead of completely turning him off, they switched the animatronic to sleep mode. He will take revenge, but at least plans to leave them alive. They will already be tormented by their conscience that they left Bloody Night in work.
Sitting from the constant thought of revenge and hatred in humans, it would seem that the robot developed a personality disorder, which could affect his behavior at unsuitable moments. He is angry, he knows it, but the disorder makes him even angrier and, as it turns out, reckless. He does not remember what he did, but he knew that he did something. Bloody Night found this moment when, out of wild anger, he scratched the metal wall, leaving traces in them. At such a moment, he is very dangerous and what signals an obvious escape - glowing rays and an eye. These feelings were strange, because it was as if he wasn’t doing all this.
But let's get back to the ambush. Bloody Night noticed one of the night workers just wandering around looking at his phone instead of doing their normal work. Shameless bastard. He was alone and walked straight into the clutches of the animatronic. One jump, a grab and a narrow vent. It all took less than five seconds and now they was trapped by Bloody Night like in a spider's web. Of course, such a sudden attack made them drop a phone and start to panic when they got stuck in the ventilation. So that's what claustrophobia means? It doesn't matter, you'll die.
"What the hell?!" the worker shouted, trying to get their walkie-talkie.
"Don't worry," Bloody Night replied with hard coldness, "you will die very soon." He reached up and pulled out the worker's walkie-talkie:
"Are you looking for this?" waving walkie-talkie in front of the worker's nose asked animatronic. The squeeze of his strong hand was enough to break this things. The worker realized their situation and began to shout in the hope that the sound from the ventilation would be heard. Bloody Night got angry again from their trying to resist. He grabbed them by the legs and threw out the vent. Falling from a great height, the worker broke their wrist, which made them scream even louder. Landing on the ribs of a heavy metal animatronic broke his ribcage. And then, to make sure they didn't try to shoot at all, Bloody Night broke workers jaw until it crunched. Several teeth had fallen out of broken jaw. Blood filled their mouth from lungs being punctured by their own ribs. The worker had already stopped trying to scream altogether: the pain shock had overtaken them.
"Well done, pet..." said Bloody Night. His hands slid down the worker's neck to his broken chest, drilling inside with sharp claws. Pulling out some more whole ribs from the inside, spreading them out like wings. The worker tried to scream, but lost consciousness from loss of blood and severe pain. Bloody Night clicked his tongue, holding in his hand still connected to the vessels, still warm, beating heart.
"It's a pity, you're too weak. Your heart is beautiful, so slow... so dead" the animatronic clenched his hand with the heart into a fist, splashing blood and the remains of the organ around. The worker didn't die right away, but unfortunately they didn't experience the torment Bloody Night had in mind. Wiping the blood off his hands on their clothes, he straightened up, looking down at his victim. The first murder is so... fascinating! Nodding in satisfaction, the animatronic disappeared back into the vents, waiting for the next one.
The brutal murder was discovered the next morning, and so now everyone walks in pairs at night, but this still did not stop Bloody Night from taking revenge. Everyone tries to avoid dark corners, but people sometimes don't listen to anyone, which is why they make big mistakes. That's what happened when two workers approached the murder scene, discussing and wondering what happened. When Bloody Night recognized one of the workers as the one who turned him off, his rays and eye lit up with joy and at the same time anger at them. He sat like a predator, impatiently, but sat and waited. Fearless or just stupid, one of them went closer to the place where the body was found. Exactly to the point where there are no cameras. The second worker was distracted by a phone call and turned away. And then here is Bloody Night... Jump! Grab! Drag! This human didn't even have time to squeak before they was dragged into the tunnel for another murder. Sad it wasn't the one who turned him off, but soon the animatronic will get to them too.
He had to act fast this time, so that the tasty piece of cake that settled below would not suspect anything. So Bloody Night immediately tore out the tongue of the poor worker who was caught. Then, without hesitation, he stuck his hand through their throat, turning their own stomach inside out. The stomach acid managed to splash into the worker's eyes, causing them to go blind and soon faint.
"Coward," Bloody Night barked, turning to the vent. He looked out and saw that this very tasty victim was already calling and looking for their partner. The animatronic took a boot off the corpse and threw it down, attracting the attention of this idiot. They, of course, noticed and came closer to the source of the sound. And again a jump and here they is already caught in the clutches of the Bloody Night.
"With you it will be more interesting" whispered the animatronic, dragging him through the ventilation into the tunnels, hitting them on the head along the way, causing the worker to lose consciousness.
They woke up only some time later: tied up and in front of the corpse of their partner. The first reaction was shock, from which they could not even scream. From the shadows appeared an animatronic. He slowly came out of the corner and looking clearly at the tied worker, said:
"Here we meet again, but in the opposite situation..."
"What do you want?!" the worker barked through the tears that were welling up.
"From you - nothing. But you own me something..." Bloody Night stepped closer, placing his palm on the side of his victim's head.
"And what is that?"
"You own me... my life," he slowly approached the corpse, rummaging through their pockets, "but I won't take it away from you. I will do other things." Bloody Night got out a taser from dead worker. He slowly walked towards the tied up worker, clicking the taser as he went. His final goal was in front of him and Bloody Night had a special plans on them. They were afraid of a painful death, but the worker didn't know that they would leave alive. Beaten, but alive. Bloody Night needs them to stay alive. To report the arrival of a dangerous animatronic in their building, so that no one can relax.
"Please don't kill me! I'm sorry I turned you off. Let me go! I won't tell anyone!" the worker begged. The animatronic grinned as he came very close. He hit the worker with a taser to shut them up.
"I won't kill you, I just want to deliver message." Bloody Night said, slowly walking around the worker so he could see their backs. Running a claw along their spine, tearing clothes to expose worker's back.
"What do you need to tell? I'll tell them, just don't touch me!" worker cried out, shaking with fear.
"I'll write here." Bloody Night said, pressing his claws into the worker's back until it bled. Their screams and twitches made the animatronic angry. He pressed his hand to the worker's mouth, holding him in place with the other. This is where the third hand that had been built in earlier needs, which had come out of his stomach. His third hand was already with sharp claws, scratching some words on the worker's back. Of course there was resistance for the first minutes, but the scratches were so deep that the worker lost consciousness from shock. The animatronic wanted the scars to remain forever, reminding them that it was their fault that Bloody Night still is in conscious.
When he finished, the words "Thank you, idiot" were scratched into the worker's back. They bled, but not enough to cause blood loss. These scars are comparable to self-harm: persistent, but not deadly. Of course, they turned out to be painful for the worker, who did not even have tears left to cry. With a sudden grip, Bloody Night began to strangle them until they lost consciousness. When worker's eyes rolled back, the animatronic untied them and began to carry them back to leave it as the next message.
A dangerous animatronic is operating Pizza Plex and will not leave anyone alone. He will continue to kill, bring new news and new dead bodies. He will achieve his goal so that his name, Bloody Night, will remain in memory and be passed down from generation to generation.
