Chapter Text

The small light from the flame on the man's fingertip lit the wall as their flashlights were surveying the surroundings.

A women could be seen behind to his side, hands behind her back.

Her gloved right hand clutched her bare left, seemingly impatiant.

She looked towards the man expectantly.

He wasn't particularly famous, but cluster triggers who focused on Thinker abilities usually performed better then the normal ones at on-field investigation.

"How long did you say the energy was being siphoned out?"

The women thought before answering his question.

"Around 10 minutes, I'd say."

The man glanced at her expression and she could see his eyes through the pure white mask squint before returning to the wall, his gloved hand traced the area around the silk on the wall.

"A miracle that no one noticed the nuclear power plant not working, so we can hypothesize a Stranger classific-"

"Um... no," She interuppted, "Whenever something unusual happens we're supposed to immediately "pack up and leave", to oversimplify it."

A bitter smile formed on her face at the words, and the "art" made from spider silk on the wall.

It was dimly lit, making it hard to see, but even so she could still make it out.

It was of a "cartoonish" spider, it's body white and pink, gazing up with tears coming out of it's eyes.

She recognised the art style from the anime she used to watch from Earth Aleph.

The words "It's Jover" was written above, with what was likely the same white silk.

A glove could be seen stuck on one of its legs as a testament to how sticky it was.

"How much energy can be generated in that amount time?"

The women answered quickly, with what was likely the amount of energy she calculated before he came.

"911 thousand kilowatts. Or at least a number close to that."

I like to think that they went on until then on purpose. She said to no one but herself.

"You're remarkably calm for someone who just got the equivalent of a nuclear bomb stolen from under their nose!" One of the other members of his team shouted from across the room.

The team member pointed their flashlight at her, seemingly looking curious as to the answer.

She squinted and noticed how young he was compared to the man, likely young-adult compared to the man's middle-agededness.

Middle-agededness, heh.

She answered with a melancholic smile.

"Due to how crucial the energy we generated was to the whole of France, the only way we could have been shut down was from a Behemoth attack."

"That or, well... This," She continued, "I suppose we all... resigned ourselves to death."

She paused, listening to the boots walking on the ground and faint buzzing of flashlights like it was a victory song.

"If anything, this is one of the best things that could have happened to us," She finished.

"I see..." The man said before looking up toward her.

He continued, "You can go then, if you really want to."

He gestured at her with his gloved hand before taking it off with his other.

A hand like an octupus's with five humanoid fingers could be seen faintly illuminated, a liquid was slightly oozing out from it.

Ah, that's why he was sent over instead of others.

"Monstrous" capes who second triggered were rather rare.

"Thank you," she slightly bowed her head, "I... Guess I'll go now."

The words felt weird coming from her mouth, despite her always imagining herself saying it.

She walked away, her shoes making a slight noise as she approached the entrance- her exit.

Goodbye. She thought as she slowly walked through the exit.

She looked back and moved her hand out, before pulling it back in.

I probably shouldn't close the door...

She silently lamented for her "cool" exit, and continued walking.

...

Nai waaaaaaa

I'm some old alley in who-knows-where.

I looked down and saw a man sitting on the floor leaned on a wall, a bottle in his hand and vomit on the right side of his dirty coat, where his head was facing.

Which was also where I was facing.

It's a passed out drunkard!

I look around a bit, and notice that I am, indeed, in an alley. At night too, like it couldn't get any worse.

Likely a fairly rundown city.

Well....

Oh, how am I taking this so smoothly, you ask?

Because I'm not fully comprehending it, duh!

Alright, so, unknown city and unknown alley what to do now?

I gaze at the drunkard, specifically, at his pockets.

Sorry mistah drunk!

I lean down and put my finger to his neck, ignoring the swaying white robe and inevitable mental breakdown that would probably come from it.

Dead drunkard!?

I mentally wince at my bad Perry the Platypus joke before gazing lower.

Alright so-

Repress

Repress

Repress

Repress

Repre- Oh hey 100 bucks!

I don't actually know how much it's worth(since not everyone who gets isekaied is Japanese or a filthy American) but I know it's a lot.

Alright, now...

I stand up before looking down at my body.

WHAT IS THIS!?

...

I walk down the street, looking for a shop with its lights on.

So I'm Shiraori...

The swaying white cloth on my body  and strand of hair inbetween my eyes remind me of this fact.

In fu-fricking Brockton Bay.

I take this information in slowly.

Given how I can't teleport or "see" energy I've probably just got her body.

Or alternatively I'm just a pleb of a god who can't see it.

In which case-

I finally spot what looks like a shop with it's lights on.

-time to get drunk.

My mouth slightly drools before I notice.

There's also that.

That points towards this being Shiraori's actual body, but with me as a hijacker.

Eh, I'll deal with it later. I think, likely to never bring up the thought again.

My hand grasps the handle and pushes.

The teenager in front glances at me once, then twice, then thrice, then just stares in astonishment.

I'm beautiful, I know.

I nod in greeting and walk away when I notice his gaze go below my face.

I immediately walk towards the liquor. The newspaper featured a man in full armor wielding a halberd at the front.

A mess of thoughts enter my head at the sight, but one stands out at the front.

Can I even survive here?

I want to repress it, but it just comes back.

Shiraori only absorbed a continent's amount of energy to become a god.

Meanwhile Pee Jesus could probably end most universes singlehandedly.

My hand grabs one the moment my feet get close enough.

Do I really have enough power to help kill him?

It's with this thought that I chug the bottle.

Notes:

I've had this idea in mind for a long time now.

Well, no, actually, I've only had this idea since I finished Worm, but it technically counts if a few months count as "a long time"

Well, anyway, I tried to combine Okina Baba's writing style with my own in this fic because, damn, if I use my own then this fic will turn into straight angst faster then Shiraori can consume a toddler whole without killing it.

And that isn't very Kumoko, if I say so myself.

...I'm gonna go back to playing Fate/Extra now.
