Work Text:
He heard it.
The calls are deafening. Overwhelming even to him.
He hears the screeches of metal birds. The ground rumbling as they tumble back to it.
The pained bellows of those smaller than him. Their melodies cut short.
Everything is hurting because of them.
This cannot be ignored.
And thus, he answers.
He does not dare to waste even a second.
So many noises from those below him. They all come together into one loud harmony.
They grow louder with each one he crushes and burns away.
He will make sure this will be the last the earth will ever hear of their twisted song.
It matters not what is below him. All are to be cleansed by his fire.
They have not learned. They will not learn. They will never learn.
He must not let even one escape. He cannot give any more chances.
They will never again taint this world. He will not allow them.
His raging fire has finally simmered down.
He knows it already consumed everything it needed to.
The sun is shining ever brighter than before.
The loud harmonies of those below him have gone quiet at last.
He looks up. The skies have grayed out.
He breathes in. The air is filled with dust.
He takes a step forward.
The ground is glass.
