Chapter Text

"Why are they doing this?! Don't they realize that we can help them-"

"They think we're monsters, Lily. Don't you get it? They think we're freaks, and they're scared of us."

"But we're not freaks, nor monsters. We would never use our powers to harm the innocent."

"I know...but the problem is that they don't."

"What are we gonna do, Haewon?"

Haewon thinks for a bit. She thinks of a time where she could see the smiles on Minji and Hanni’s face just from the joys of talking to each other. A time where she could tease Haerin and Danielle about their obvious flirting. A time where it was the easiest thing to make Lily smile and blush. A time before all of this. A time where they weren't in constant danger.

She lifts her head to stare straight into Lily’s eyes, loving the way they sparkle in the moonlight with pure innocence.

"We'll just have to see what happens."

Chapter Text

Minji slowly starts to come back to reality from her precious dream, her eyes fluttering open to find Hanni's chocolate brown eyes already staring back at her own dark ones.

"Mornin' sleepy head.", Hanni says, and Minji just smiles.

"Morning.", she replies, her voice groggy and raspy with sleep as she turns over and sits up pulling her arms away from Hanni’s waist. The sheets fall around her waist to reveal her pale skin with just a baby blue bra to cover her chest. "Where's Hanni?", she asks mid-yawn to the Hanni that's standing by the end of the bed, a smirk on her face.

"Helping Lily with breakfast.", the Hanni replies, and the Hanni that was sleeping next to Minji sits up and joins the other one once Minji rips the sheets away and gets up to walk to her closet.

Minji sighs as she looks through her clothes. "Ugh, she really thinks she can fool me? She's the dumbest smart person I know.", she says to herself, throwing on one of Hanni's oversized hoodies and leaving on the comfy track shorts she wore to bed. When she turns around again to grab her phone, the two Hanni's are gone.

Minji just shrugs and walks out of the room, shutting the door behind her before walking down the empty hallway. As she walks, she remembers when this same hallway used to be filled with a bunch of other kids, constant chatter always being heard throughout the day. But now, you could rarely find more than one person walking down the hall at any given time...and it was quiet. All of the rooms she passed were empty, no longer in use.

When Minji walks through the double doors into the dining room, she frowns at how empty it is, only a couple seats being occupied. She should be used to it though, it's been like this for the past two years.

She walks across the room and into the kitchen, a small smile forming on her lips when she finally sees two familiar faces. Lily was mixing the pancake batter while Hanni was currently flipping a pancake in her frying pan.

"So, where's Hanni?", she asks, announcing her arrival as well as telling Hanni to stop with the games.

"Damn it!", she hears an adorable voice say from the back of the kitchen, and it doesn't take long before Hanni is appearing in front of them, a pout on her face. "I thought I got you!"

"You can never trick her.", the Hanni that's frying the pancake says, and Hanni turns her head to glare.

"Oh shut up, missy! Nobody asked you!" Hanni says sassily, and Minji watches as the duplication merges back into Hanni, only one Hanni left now, and it was the actual real one. Hanni turns back to Minji with a smile on her face. "So, how'd you sleep?", she asks after a quick peck on the lips.

"I slept pretty well, although I'd really like to wake up with you in my arms for once."

"Well, you technically did wake up with me in your arms..."

"You know what I mean Pham.", Minji says pointedly. "As much as I love this duplication thing, I'd like to be able to wake up all cuddled and warm wrapped around you, not some duplicates."

"I know, I know.", Hanni says, but before she can continue with an apology, Lily speaks up.

"I hate to interrupt, but I kinda need a hand here.", the girl says, trying to flip the pancake Hanni has now left unattended and mix the batter at the same time.

"You're a big girl, you can handle it." Lily just sighs and goes back to trying not to burn the building down. "Look Minji, I'm sorry. How about we meet up at the library later on so we can be in private. I'll make it up to you.", Hanni says with a purr in her voice, adding a wink at the end just to irritate Lily and make her uncomfortable.

"You guys are so gross.", Lily says, turning her attention away from the pancake to look at the two.

"Oh, stop whining.", Hanni says back to the girl, Minji hiding her face in the crook of Hanni's neck while she blushes.

"Stop trying to get in Minji's pants while I'm around.", Lily sasses back.

"You wanna fight, Morrow?" Hanni taunts teasingly, knowing that Lily is actually just a big puppy, and she wouldn't hurt her even if they did get into a fight.

"Let's gaur!"Lily teases back, placing the bowl with the batter down and bringing up her fists. The two jump around like they're in a boxing ring, throwing mock punches at each other to try and intimidate the other (Minji watching the entire thing with a look of pure adoration towards Hanni). While the three of them are distracted, they don't notice that the pancake Lily left unattended starts to burn.

Only when the pan emits a sudden flame do they notice. Hanni and Lily jump back from the stove, and Minji flicks her wrists in panic, the pancake turning into a block of ice before a large cloud of steam forms when the heat of the pan starts to melt the ice away.

Lily rushes forward to turn off the stove and move the pan away from the heat, using her other hand to try her best to swat away the steam.

"Nice going Lily.", Hanni says, Minji hugging her tightly from behind. "You scared Minji."

"Me? This was your fault as much as it was mine.", Lily says as she lifts the pan and walks it to the rubbish can, dumping the soggy yet burnt pancake in the trash.

"Whatever.", Hanni says, turning around in Minji's embrace so she can wrap her own arms around Minji, comforting her. "It's okay Minji, you're fine. You put out the flame with your power, and we're all fine.", she says into the taller girl’s ear.

"I was scared you were going to get hurt...", Minji mumbles into Hanni's shoulder. Lily sighed and Hanni ran her hand through Minji's dark locks. Everybody had a story of how they ended up here. Minji's was probably one of the most tragic.

When Minji was only 7, her house burnt down in flames, killing both of her parents and her brother. She was the only one who survived due to her ice powers that made a frozen shield around her room when she got scared and panicked. She sat alone in her block of ice for at least a day, only being helped when some of the neighbours noticed the strange ice and cries of a little girl inside of it. People from the facility immediately rushed in and brought Minji to the 'camp', knowing from the descriptions that the little Korean wasn't an ordinary girl.

That's why Minji always got frightened when she saw fire or flames, it bringing back awful memories. Losing all of her loved ones in that fire scarred her, like it would with anyone, and now she's always scared that she's going to lose someone else that she loves.
Minji calms down after Hanni presses a gentle kiss to her temple, and she smiles weakly at the younger girl once they part from their embrace.

The door is pushed open angrily, and Haewon walks in with her head down. She ignores her three friends and instead focuses on the contents in the fridge. She shuffles things around until she finds a pudding cup, then closes the fridge and grabs a plastic spoon. She leaves without a word, leaving Hanni and Minji confused.

"What's up with her?", Hanni asks, she and Minji still looking at the door Haewon just exited.

"You didn't hear?", Lily asks, her voice now quiet and sad. "Kyujin disappeared last night. She was Haewon's best friend, practically her sister."

"I remember her, cat eyes right?", Minji asks, pointing to a picture of the feline in the corner as an example, and Lily nods. "She was a nice girl, always singing and laughing. This is so sad, I feel bad for Haewon."

"Another one?", Hanni asks, slamming her fist on the counter top. "How many people are going to go missing? This is crazy! I just don't understand why this is all happening, and it's killing me!"

"You're not the only one Hanni. When I first joined this camp there were hundreds of other kids. I counted yesterday, and now there's only twenty of us left. Minus one now because of Kyujin. I need to know what's happening before my head explodes."

Hanni is quiet for a bit, Minji standing close to her, trying to help calm her. "Hanni, jagiya, you should clear your head for a bit. You're worrying yourself.", Minji says, knowing her girlfriend better than anyone else.

"Yeah, you're right.", Hanni says through a sigh. "I'll see you later, yeah?"

"I'll be waiting in the library.", Minji responds, smiling into the gentle kiss Hanni places on her lips before leaving the kitchen.

When Hanni is gone, Minji looks back over to Lily just in time to catch her smirk.

"What?", she asks.

"You two are adorable."

Minji just smiles as she thinks of her relationship with Hanni. "I know."
***
Minji sat in a chair in the library, a book on the table in front of her even though she hasn't touched it yet. She was too busy looking out the window, thinking. She had a bad feeling in her gut, and it didn't help that wherever she walked there would be an eerie feeling surrounding her. Something wasn't adding up with all of these mysterious and sudden disappearances. To be honest, it frightened Minji. She and everyone else didn't know who would be next, and she always feared it would be her, or even worse...Hanni.
She can't imagine what would happen if she didn't have Hanni next to her everyday. They kept each other sane and protected...

She couldn't take it anymore, all of these bad thoughts were getting her paranoid. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and typed a message to Hanni.

'To: My Sweet Darling <3

Where are you?'

It didn't take long before Minji's phone buzzed with Hanni's reply.

From: My Sweet Darling <3

Gonna take a shower, I think it'll help me clear my head...why?'

'To: My Sweet Darling <3

Idk, i have a bad feeling in my gut and i'm scared. please hurry?'

'From: My Sweet Darling <3

Don't worry Minji-ah, everything will be fine. i'll be sure to hurry though, k? love you'

'To: My Sweet Darling <3

okay, love you too <3'

Minji sighed as she put her phone on the table next to the untouched book. The bad feeling in her gut still not going away...
***
Hanni placed her clothes and phone in her locker in the girls locker room, grabbing her towel and wrapping it around her waist before walking into the shower area. Someone else was showering as well, but Hanni didn't mind, she was just here to simply calm her mind and process things.

She turned the dial and let the warm water bead down on her body, already feeling soothed and calm. She let her mind wander as she placed her forehead against the cool tile of the shower walls, feeling a bit guilty since she told Minji she would hurry, even though she knew that wouldn't happen. Once her mind was worked up it would take a lot of work to calm it down again.

There was something else nagging her in the back of her mind though, aside from the mystery of people going missing from the facility. It was Minji's text. 'I have a bad feeling in my gut', Hanni repeated in her head, and the more she thought about it, the more she began to realize she had the same feeling.

The sound of a loud slam made Hanni jump, and she sighed when she saw three pairs of her own eyes staring back at her. Whenever she got extremely frightened she would duplicate, that being the way she found out about her power.

She merged them back into herself before turning off the water, hearing the other person in the shower do the same.

"This is for your own safety and protection. We are under attack, I repeat, we are under attack! Please stay in your locked regions until the doors unlock again. Be safe!", a voice announces through the various speakers placed all throughout the facility in case of emergency.

Hanni's eyes widen and she rips open the shower curtain, and she sees that the other person in the shower was Kang Haerin.

"What's going on!?", Haerin asks with alarm in her voice, placing her towel around her body just like Hanni.

"I don't know, but it can't be good if they're locking us in.", Hanni responds. 'Shit, Minji was right!', she thinks to herself as she rushes to her locker in the locker room, thanking whoever made this facility for connecting the showers and bathroom to the lockers. If they were gonna be stuck in the locker room, at least they had somewhere to do the necessities.

She changes as fast as she can, spotting Haerin doing the same a couple rows of lockers down. Once she's done changing, she pulls out her phone, breathing a sigh of relief when she sees a text from Minji.

'From: ms.seaweed <3

Please tell me you're safe...'

"Are we the only two here?", Haerin asks, and Hanni nods, assuming that if anyone else was here they would've shown themselves by now. Hanni and Haerin have talked on occasion, knowing each other since Haerin was close friends with Haewon and Danielle, who were also close friends with Hanni. Though, the two didn't really see each other too often for some reason...but at least they knew each other.

'To: ms.seaweed <3

i'm stuck in the locker room, don't know if that's safe, but it's something. what about you babe?'

'From: ms.seaweed <3
locked in the library. thank goodness you're okay, I was worried. are you alone?'

'To: ms.seaweed <3

no, Haerin is here too. you?'

'From: ms.seaweed <3

i haven't checked yet'

'To: ms.seaweed <3

please do. i need to know if you're alone or not.

When she gets an 'okay' back, she walks over to the large metal door that's now covering the old wooden door of the locker room entrance.

"What are you doing?", Haerin asks, taking a seat on a bench.

"I need to find a way to Minji.", Hanni says, placing her hand on the door to look for any weak spots.

"You heard what they said over the intercom, we shouldn't leave!"

"Do you really think a few locked doors are going to stop whatever is going on? Whoever or whatever is invading us is obviously a big threat since they're taking this much precaution to keep us safe. I think they just locked the doors to stall and buy time.", Hanni explains.

Haerin thinks over it for a while, then stands to join Hanni by the door.

"What do we do?", she asks.

"You want to help me get us out of here?"

"What you said makes sense, and I trust you. Plus, I need to find Dani." Hanni's heard from Haewon that she's witnessed Danielle and Haerin flirting multiple times, and she says that it's almost irritating her how they don't see that they both love each other.

"What were you thinking of doing?"

"Well-"

The sound of a gun firing causes both of the girls to jump, Hanni duplicating once again by accident. They hear screams echoing throughout the hall just outside the metal door, and their faces become pale as they listen to the horrors of what's going on outside.
They hear men shouting and familiar voices pleading...then about 3 more gunshots.

"Oh my God...what's happening?", Haerin asks, tears starting to run down her cheeks.

"Th-they're killing...Haerin, we're being hunted down."

"Who's 'they', and what do you mean?!"

"I have no clue who or what could be here...I mean, who in the world even knows that this camp exists besides us? They're probably invading with a serious purpose...and I'm pretty sure it's to kill all of us, once and for all."

"The disappearances...", Haerin states, her face getting even more pale as she comes to realization.

"They were trying to take us out one by one until there were barely any of us left. Now we can't fight against them."

'From: ms.seaweed <3

I found Haewon here, but Hanni you need to get out of there. we heard them saying they were headed for the locker rooms. hanni...please, get out of there!'

The text makes a shiver run down Hanni's spine. "They're coming for us, we need to think fast!", Hanni says, and sure enough they can hear loud footsteps getting closer to the door.

"There's gotta be a vent around here somewhere. If we can get in there we'll have a clear exit...but it might take some time, we'll need a distraction.", Haerin says, and Hanni looks at the two duplications next to her, a plan forming in her mind.

"I have an idea."

Chapter Text

Minji still hasn't stopped pacing around the room, her hands resting on her head as she continues to walk back and forth.

"Minji, just calm down.", Haewon says. When Haewon found her sitting in the back corner of the library with panic written all over her face, she agreed to stay by her to keep her company, but she didn't know she would be freaking out this much.

"I can't just calm down, Haewon! There are killers out there with guns, and they're headed straight for Hanni! I can't just sit down and relax like you...it's killing me to know that there's a possibility Hanni might die.", Minji says, close to breaking down.

Haewon get's up and walks back over to the metal door that has them locked inside, and she listens, just like she did earlier to learn that the invaders were headed for the locker rooms. A few were stationed in the hallway just outside of the library, probably thinking that nobody would be in there since the majority at this camp were teenagers that had more important things to do than read.

Haewon listened to the static of their walkie talkie's. "Nothing out of the ordinary, over.", a static voice reports to the men outside of the door.

"See Minji, Hanni is fine. They just reported that nothing was out of the ordinary.", Haewon says.

"Really?", Minji asks, walking over by Haewon so that she could listen as well.

"Locker rooms are cle-WAIT! What the hell! There's hundreds of her-FIRE! SHOOT THEM ALL!", the static voice reports once again, seeming to get distracted during his report, and Minji's eyes widen while Haewon presses her ear closer to the door. They both hear the sound of guns firing in the distance. "There were duplicates, but we shot them all, leaving no chance for the original to survive. Another down, fifteen more to go, over."

Minji's heart feels like it's about to stop, and she gasps out a sob as she stumbles back from the door.

"Minji...I'm sorry-"

"SAVE IT!", Minji yells, full on sobbing now as she leans her back against one of the walls, sliding down until she's sitting with her face buried in her hands.

Hanni is the only one at camp that has duplication as her power.

"This is why I was worried Haewon! THIS IS WHY I WAS FUCKING WORRIED!", Minji yells, not even caring about the men outside that could possibly hear her.

Haewon clamps her hand over Minji’s mouth, trying to block her shouts and sobs. "I'm sorry Minji, but look, you need to be quiet! If they hear you they'll kill us." Minji doesn't say anything, so Haewon moves her hand away, moving it to rub her back comfortingly instead.

"Let them.", Minji mumbles.

"What?"

"Why should I be quiet? I've already lost Hanni...there's no point in suffering and hiding any longer. Just let them kill me already."

"Minji, don't talk like that. Hanni wouldn't want you to think like that."

"Yeah, well there's no Hanni anymore! She's....gone..." Haewon let's Minji cry on her shoulder, praying that the men outside couldn't hear the girl’s sobs. She was also praying that it was all just some sick joke, and that Hanni was alive, and that there was someone else who could duplicate that they didn't know about. Haewon knows that Minji would go insane without Hanni, heck, she already is. It's painful for her to see her taller friend go through so much pain.

Suddenly they both hear a small crash come from the back of the library, and Haewon narrows her eyes at the sound. "Minji, you stay here, alright? I'm gonna go see what caused that noise." Minji doesn't move at all, so Haewon just carefully moves from beside her and gets up on her feet.

She slowly and carefully walks towards where she heard the noise come from, being as light as she can be on her feet, trying to make the least amount of noise possible.

She hears some whispers and a bit of groaning, and she hides behind one of the shelves when she spots movement. She can hear their footsteps getting closer to her, and she takes in a deep breath before jumping out of her hiding spot with her arms up and ready, only to be pushed back into a shelf, books digging into her back as she feels a tremendous amount of heat near her face.

Once her eyes adjust from the sudden movements, she's stunned to see that it's a familiar face, their forearm pressed against her throat, their other hand emitting a small ball of fire, prepared to attack. "Haerin?", she asks.

"Haewon?", Haerin asks back, moving her forearm away from Haewon’s throat, allowing her to breathe properly while she moves her other hand back to her side, the fire immediately going out. "It's just Haewon.", Haerin calls over her shoulder, and Haewon watches in shock as Hanni steps out from behind another one of the shelves, clutching her stomach and limping over to the two.

"Hanni?!", she asks. This was impossible...Hanni was supposed to be dead. "They said they shot all the duplicates and the original...how are you alive?"

"They were just a distraction Haewon, you should be smart enough to figure that out. I duplicated as much as I could, then Haerin and I went in search for a vent. When we found one, that's exactly when they knocked down the door. Since there were so many copies of me, they were distracted long enough for us to escape. When they searched through the locker room, all they saw were limp duplicates, and they assumed that they had also killed the original.", Hanni explains, still clutching her stomach.

"Then we found our way through the vents until Hanni was certain we had made it to the library.", Haerin continues. "We wanted to be extra careful, and even though we knew you were in here, we didn't want to take any chances, so that's why I attacked you. Sorry about that."

"It's okay.", Haewon says, still watching Hanni's face, seeing her grimace every once and a while. "Is she okay?", she then asks, pointing over to Hanni.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just the combined damage of all my duplicates, but the pain will wear off after a few minutes."

"Haewon?! Everything okay?", a voice shouts, and Hanni’s eyes immediately widen upon hearing the voice of her lover.

"Minji!", she shouts, pushing past Haewon and Haerin to get to the main area of the library, getting confused about why the tall girl was crying her eyes out. "Aww, babe, why are you crying?"

Minji blinks a couple times, trying to take in the fact that Hanni was standing in front of her. She then quickly jumps up from her seated position, grabbing one of Hanni’s hands. "Hanni?!"

"Yes babe?"

"You're alive!!"

"Yeah...I've been this whole time."

"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!", Minji exclaims, attacking Hanni with a hug, her arms tight around Hanni’s waist, not wanting to let go anytime soon. Hanni can feel the wet spots on her shirt, but she doesn't mind, she only cares about Minji.

"I was never dead Minji. I know what they said may have made it seem like they shot me, but they didn't. I got out of there in time, thanks to your warning.", she says, stroking the taller’s hair.

Minji suddenly pulls away, her piercing black eyes locking with Hanni’s brown ones, before she leans forward and smashes their lips together.

"Aaaaaaaaand that's my que to look away.", Haerin says, shielding her eyes while turning to face a different direction.

Minji pulls Hanni closer to her, peppering kisses all over her face, and Haewon smiles at the two before doing the same as Haerin.

"So, what have you come up with, Sherlock?" Danielle asks, sitting up on the countertop beside the stove, inspecting her fingernails while Lily looks around the door.

"Well, it's locked...and we're not gonna be getting out of here anytime soon.", the girl answers, and Danielle drops her hand to the side.

"You are doing a fantastic job, Lily! Thank you so much for not stating the obvious.", she says sarcastically, giving Lily a 'really?' look before she hops down from her spot.

"Fine then. If you're gonna be sassy, then you can come up with a plan yourself."

"Even though you're the one who got me locked up in here?"

"You didn't have to help me clean up in here.", she says, gesturing around the kitchen.

"Yes, but you asked me to, and you know I'm too nice to say 'no'!"

"Because all you can do is state the obvious!"

"Well, the original offer still stands."

"Fine! I'll come up with an idea.", Dani says, looking around the kitchen for a while before her eyes accidentally glance over Lily’s hands. "Wait a second! Don't you have super strength!?" Lily nods, a bit confused. "You dummy! You could probably just punch this door open!"

"I don't know if I should..."

"Think about it Lily .", Dani says, placing a hand on the taller girl’s shoulder as she stares off into the distance, Lily’s eyes darting around, being confused once again. "With your super strength, we probably have the best chance of getting out of this room to help others get out as well. Once we save everyone, we'll be known as the heroes of the camp."

"You sure we'll be saving them, and not just putting them in more trouble. I'm pretty sure they have us locked in here for a reason."

"You're the one that wanted to get out of here so bad!"

"Well, yeah, but only to see if I could find Haewon...but now I don't think it'll be as easy or as safe as I thought. I don't want to get that door open anymore."

"Stop being so selfish!", Dani lectures, grabbing a rolling pin out of a cupboard to hit Lily with it. "You think I don't want to go and search for someone too? We can do it together. Now you will use your power to get this door open, or God help me, this rolling pin will become a murder weapon."

Lily sighs before rolling up her sleeves, cracking her knuckles in preparation to do as Dani told her to. She braces herself and charges towards the door, her shoulder coming in contact with the hard metal of the door, just to bounce back onto the floor, a large amount of pain shooting up her arm.

"Gosh, they must've had these doors specially built to keep any type of power from opening them.", Dani infers, seeing Lily roll around on the ground, groaning in pain. "Sorry about that. Here, I'll help you."

Dani bends down so she's kneeling beside Lily, and she places one of her hands on the girl’s shoulder. Her hand starts to faintly glow, her healing ability starting to sooth Lily’s pain, getting the grimace off her face.

"Thanks Dani.", she says, the pain in her shoulder now feeling as if it's nothing. "Your power sure does come in handy."

"Awww, thanks Unnie!", she says, lightly slapping the girl’s cheeks before getting up, giving Lily a hand to help her up as well.

"So, what now?"

"Uhmmmmmmmm....hmmmmmm...." Dani continues to hum as she searches her brain for any solutions to the current problem. Just as an idea is popping into her head, a buzzing noise sounds from her back pocket, and she giggles a bit at the tickling vibration that she felt. She brings her hand to her back pocket, and she pulls out her phone (which she told Lily she didn't have, forgetting that she actually brought it with her). "Oh. Well, would ya look at that."

"You had your phone this ENTIRE TIME?!"

"Yeah, I guess so.", she replies, not paying much attention to her as she reads the message on her screen.

'From: Kitty Kang :)

Dani, you alright?'

'To: Kitty Kang :)

yeah, stuck in the kitchen with Lily tho :/'

"Who is it?"

"Haerin."

"What did she say?"

"She asked if I was alright."

"Awww, how cute.", Lily says with a smug expression on her face, but it vanishes when Dani lifts the rolling pin, her eyes still locked on her phone's screen.

***

"Dani and Lily are in the kitchen.", Haerin says once she gets a text back from Danielle. She and Haewon had given Hanni and Minji some time alone so they could think of what to do next.

"They're both together? How convenient.", Haewon responds. Both she and Haerin wanted to go out in search for the two of them, and it made things so much easier that they were together.

"Should we tell bbangsaz that we're leaving?" Haewon laughed at the nickname Haerin used for Hanni and Minji, and she nodded, desperately wanting to find Lily. Lily was Haewon’s first friend here at camp, and they have a very close bond.

The two walked back over to the lovebirds, both trying to fight the smile on their face as they see Minji all cuddled up to Hanni’s side.

"Alright you two, Haewon and I are going to the kitchen to get Lily and Dani."

"You guys know they're there?", Hanni asks.

"Yeah, Dani texted back."

"We figured we'd go together since we both want to find the other two, plus, we're pretty sure Minji won't be letting you out of her sight for a while anyway.", Haewon says, Minji holding Hanni tighter to prove her point.

"Fine, but be safe okay?"

"We'll be okay, but will you two?"

"I've got my duplications, and Minji has her power pretty much mastered. I think we'll be safe.", Hanni explains, a reassuring smile on her face. "Now, will you guys bring them back here?"

"Well, yeah, we figured that this is probably the safest place in the facility...for now at least.", Haerin says, Haewon nodding beside her.

"But what if me and Hanni need to escape? How will you guys know not to come back here?", Minji asks in a soft voice, hoping that won't happen.

"Then....leave the vent open. That'll be the signal that you two have left."

"Be safe you two.", Minji and Hanni both say, and Haerin and Haewon nod before making their way to the back of the library, opening up the vent again so they can crawl through and into the air ducts.

Once they're in and Haewon has closed the entrance, she blinks a bit to adjust to the sudden change in light, it now being pitch black. "Ugh, it's dark in here. How'd you and Ha-" Haerin holds out her palm, making Haewon stop talking once she sees a glow emitting from her hand from the small flame that she's created. "Nevermind.", she mutters, following Haerin as she leads the way.

Notes:

I read this story back in my middle school camren faze and I remembered how much I loved it so I decided to convert it with some ships I love now :)

and I once again want to thank the original author (even though they disappeared off of the app like 7 years ago) for making this fic
