Chapter 1: The Rising of the Emerald Hero
Chapter Text
It all happened so fast- one-second Kakyoin had Dio in an almost inescapable position, and the next Kakyoin was sent flying. His pulverized stomach churned, red trailing from it. His rushed breath burned his throat with an ugly croak.
‘H-how?' In spite of the pain he was in, the red-haired Stand-user’s mind did not waver. His jaw spasmed when he clenched his teeth, but Kakyoin endured, wondering how Dio managed to escape.
Mr. Joestar screamed out his name, shocked, before Kakyoin crashed into a water tower above the rooftops of Cairo. The pain ratcheted up from the crumpled metal and water soaked his uniform.
'What just happened? Did he just beat me?' The young man tried to move any part of his body yet he couldn't do anything, not even twitch. Hierophant Green’s eyes were locked on the night sky.
'I can't speak, I can't even lift a finger.' Kakyoin looked at the clock tower he was sent flying from.
'It's 5:15, which means it's around midnight in Japan. I wonder what my parents are doing, maybe they're already asleep. I'm sorry for making you worry so much…' Although Kakyoin cared about his parents deeply, that was the least of his concerns; he was still wondering how Dio managed to escape his attack completely unharmed.
'I can sense every movement when someone touches Hierophant Green's barrier but Dio ripped the entire thing apart at once. Why wasn't it done strand by strand? It was completely simultaneous without even a microsecond of time in between them an entire 20-meter barrier all at once. His stand had proved to be faster than most. How could the entanglement break all at once?'
He was so deep in thought trying to figure out how the vampire escaped the emerald splash at once while trying to cling on to life as much as he could. 'How could he hit them all at once with no time passing between them? Time passing… time?
TIME!? THE TIME!
‘I get it now- there's no other explanation, I have to tell them about this, they need to learn the truth somehow… otherwise everyone else will be killed!'
Kakyoin focused the last of his strength into summoning Hierophant Green. He let out a gasp of pain as his body protested the blood choking his breath. Frustration and alarm for his friends fueled him, one desperate effort of will forcing his stand to release one last emerald splash at the clock tower.
'It's a message, it's the best I can do. Mr Joestar please…understand.’
‘Please… figure… it out…'
Kakyoin closed his eyes before taking his last breath.
...
His newest surprise did not come from DIO. The pain he had in his torso was gone, it didn't hurt to breathe anymore.
"Wh-what? How?!”
Opening his eyes, “I'm alive," the Stand-user said in confusion. Daylight greeted him as he looked at his hands, closing them into a fist before relaxing them. He then looked at his arms blinking rapidly before noticing something on his left arm. It was white with a bright green gem in the middle as Kakyoin blinked a few more times before the shape of it became clear "Is this a shield? It's so light…"
Kakyoin's thoughts were interrupted by a masculine voice.
"Fantastic, the summoning was a success!"
Kakyoin's head shot up as he saw a group of cloaked figures in white, separate from his own stylized stone platform.
"Wait where am I!?" Kakyoin looked around the room, he took note of a strange symbol under his feet. The student had seen many bizarre things on his adventures, but nothing he saw resembled Cairo. To his left, he noticed he wasn't the only person inside the symbol. Three other Japanese teenagers wore cautious expressions.
One pale, an athletic build with black hair and blue clothes. Another stood taller with blond hair done into a ponytail wearing red clothes. Finally, the shortest among them, was a boy who had blond hair and green eyes and was garbed in green.
"Please oh brave heroes! Our world is in dire need of saving, we need your help!" The cloaked figure in the middle continued.
With Kakyoin’s hand raised, the hooded figure stopped speaking. "Wait, just hold on! What are you talking about your world is in danger? I…I thought I died…”
“Wait-“ his pensive expression focused further, “-you said summoning ritual, yes?"
The middle figure nodded, Kakyoin's eyes shot wide. "You need to teleport me back to my world. My friends are in danger, they need me!"
"I'm sorry bu-"
Kakyoin grabbed the man by his shoulders causing him to stop mid-sentence in shock. "You don't understand I need to go back, my friends could very well die without me! I'm sorry about your world but I refuse. I need to go back now. Please use your teleportation, return me to my world. I can still warn them!"
Kakyoin felt a hand grip one of his shoulders. The redhead turned around and saw the blond teen. The spear he held in his other hand was pointed away, his guard lowered.
"Woah, just chill out man. What are you talking about?"
Kakyoin struggled to form words at first. It would be hard to explain what happened to him before he died and that even if he could, he doubted anyone would believe him. Eventually, after straightening his uniform to calm himself, Kakyoin found his starting point.
"It would take a long time to explain, but to keep it short: My friends are in danger and they need my help. I did all I could in my last moments, but I don't know if that was enough! I’m healed enough to fight now, their lives are on the line, I really can't stay here. I refuse to stay here!"
Kakyoin looked back at the hooded man and sighed he knew they needed help but his friends came first. If DIO wasn't killed his own world would be in danger.
"My apologies, but I refuse to be your hero. Send me back, I was in the city of Cairo." Kakyoin said apologetically.
"Yeah, I refuse as well." The college-aged summon said without remorse.
"Me too." The shorter blond teen said. Kakyoin noticed that he was holding a bow in his hands.
"You brought us here without our permission, don't you feel slightly bad about that?" The pale boy in blue said as he stepped closer, similar to the other two he was armed: with a western-style sword.
"Good sirs please I know you're all confused and probably have a lot of questions but before you say anymore allow me to lead you to the King of Melromarc he has requested an audience with you." The Robed man said.
Kakyoin sighed as he began to nervously twirl the strand of his own hair that was hanging in front of his face he was growing more nervous and impatient every second
For all he knows, DIO could well have killed Mr. Joestar by now. Maybe even Jotaro and Polnareff as well.
This King, he could clear everything up and hopefully send him back home. With a huff he said "Fine, let's go if we must, but please make this quick."
Several minutes of walking dragged by, the time and pace fueling Kakyoin’s nerves. The four heroes and their summoners reach a furnished hall fit for receiving guests. Attention shifts as he enters from the central pair of lavish chairs. Of the crowd, occupied seat befitting royalty held these men’s king.
Evidenced by the crown on his head and his remarkably impractical attire, the gray-haired monarch straightens up. He takes stock of the gathering.
"So these young men are the four cardinal heroes of legend. This is the land of Melromarc and I am her King Aultcray Melromarc the thirty second. Welcome, brave heroes! Please, introduce yourselves."
The young man with the sword speaks first, "I'm Ren Amaki. I'm a high school student and 16 years old."
The man with the spear follows next, "I'm Motoyasu Kitamura, college student 21 years old."
"Itsuki Kawasumi, I'm still in high school and I'm 17."
Kakyoin opened his mouth to introduce himself "I'm Nori-"
"Good Ren, Motoyasu, and Itsuki I'll be sure to remember those names,” The king said, completely overlooking him.
Kakyoin’s eyes widen as he tapers off, his shield-bearing arm stiffening. With his opposite pinching the bridge of his nose, the student switched mental tracks.
‘First he's summoned to another world against his will. Then his requests to be sent back to his own world are not granted. And now? Now the ruler of the kingdom is flat out ignoring him?! Forget politeness, he didn't have time for this nonsense.’
"Excuse Me!" Kakyoin said with a bit of venom in his voice as he cut through the King’s preamble.
"Oh, my apologies; I seemed to have skipped over you, young man. I was a bit distracted, that I forgot about you." Aultcray dressed up his words, but it fell as flat as any drama-craving teenager’s cruel put-down.
'I'm 178 Centimeters tall in the brightest green school uniform you'll ever see with bright red hair. You couldn't forget about me if you tried!' Kakyoin cut off that thought, answering with an annoyed grunt.
"My name is Noriaki Kakyoin. I'm 17 years old and I'm a high school student and you need to send me back to my world now!" Kakyoin’s volume and unintended step toward the king pressed on the group like a tangible force.
"Sir Kakyoin, our world is in danger. This summoning was no idle thing- we need your help,” the King stopped him. “What's so serious that you need to go back right this instant?"
Kakyoin adjusted his uniform again to calm himself down as he took a deep breath. "Look. I was murdered by a very dangerous man and two of my friends died in our mission to take him down. Through his last attack I figured out his main strength! I used my last moments to send a message to my friends- friends who are still alive!”
“It could have been too vague- I don't know if they'll be able to decipher it or not! Please, I beg you to send me back, I need to warn Jotaro and the others!"
Aultcray looked at Kakyoin in what appeared to be sympathy or perhaps pity. "Sir Kakyoin, that does sound very serious, but I'm afraid that we can't send you back to your world until the first wave is dealt with."
'He's lying to me isn't he? Ugh Damnit…' Kakyoin looked at the other 3 heroes; they were giving him looks of confusion and perhaps a bit of disgust at his refusal to go along with everything. Kakyoin looked back at the king with that look of pity replaced with one of Annoyance 'He's probably just trying to exploit me to fight in these waves. If he wants me to leave it'll be on his terms and nobody else's. I've already done something to earn his Ire whatever it was. I have no choice Jotaro, Mr Joestar, Polnareff I'm sorry please hang in there I know you can…'
Kakyoin took a deep breath before replying "Very well then but as soon as the first wave is over you have to send me back okay?"
"Of course… now then-"
“Sorry to interrupt you,” Ren said, a neutral tone obscuring any empathy. “I understand the gist of your people’s situation now. Before we move on, you don't expect us to dive into all of this for free, right?”
“Yeah I mean if we're going to help you and all we gotta get proper payment it's only fair!” Motoyasu said with fresh interest, blond locks animated.
“Just a little something to make sure that you won't dispose of us once we're done,” Itsuki added darkly to the quest-turned-transaction.
Kakyoin's brow furrowed in frustration at the other three heroes' blatant selfish desires. “Seriously?!”
The red headed stand user suddenly blurted out, everyone's attention shifted to him. “We're summoned to this world to help these people and its inhabitants and the first thing on your mind is getting paid? What part of being a hero do you not understand?! People's lives are at stake here!” Kakyoin said with a scowl.
“Hey hey, it's only fair that we get paid. In exchange for protecting them, fighting because their government asked us to. I mean we'll be risking our lives after all.” The bow-wielder continued, “Besides, didn't you just say you had zero interest in helping these people?”
The stand user’s disbelief ratcheted higher, the day’s frustrations tinging his vision red. Kakyoin erupted “Oh I'm sorry was I being unreasonable for ASKING?!”
“To be sent back to my world where I should point out my friends are fighting in a LIFE OR DEATH BATTLE WHERE, EVERY! SECOND! I stand here, THEIR chances of survival tick down!”
Tense silence filled the throne room, taken aback by the shield hero's sudden outburst. The closest, Itsuki, stepped backward into the taller Motoyasu.
The Melromarc sovereign’s brow was tense, ring-clad hand covering his reaction.
Kakyoin rubbed his temples. With it, the frustration gnawing inside sank below the surface. He took a deep breath, flicking between faces. Even he was a little stunned, he had lost control.
“Sorry, about that ah… I just been through a lot before coming here.” The stand user said weakly.
. "Err hrrm." Breaking the silence, Aultcray took the figurative lead. "To answer your question: Yes, your services will be rewarded."
Four young men, strangers at that, just aren't going to break out into whispers. Still, it was enough to lift the room's mood.
"Ho, yes! If you brave heroes would each check your present status?"
What?
Kakyoin shrugged off the old urge to ask "Teacher, what do you mean?"
The king's guards offered no information, the boys traded looks. "I see something, the bottom right edge, even when I turn. Look for yourselves," Ren said. "Focus on it."
Kakyoin looked and sure enough in the bottom right of his vision there was a small icon. With the sword hero's instructions, a new surprise greeted him.
"Th- this, what? Is this a menu?" Leaning back confirmed the artificial-looking display followed smoothly. Something like an RPG character's details page?

‘Wait a second stand stats screen?’ Kakyoin looked and sure enough beside the personal stats selection was Stand Stats Kakyoin focused on it and a new menu popped up
Stand name Hierophant Green
Stand stats

Kakyoin stared at the new stats screen for a second then his brow furrowed in annoyance as he muttered “These stats make no sense whatsoever.”
“Level one huh? That's a little concerning," the bow-wielder said.
“What you are seeing is called status magic," a robed attendant said. "It is exclusive to history's heroes. Separate from your own personal skill assessment, the magic offers insights into your health and development."
Kakyoin pursed his lips, “Okay then so what do we do from here?”
“You four, the summoned heroes, will venture out and safeguard the realm. This will strengthen your legendary weapons and sharpen your skills.”
Kakyoin nodded “Simple enough. So for now I guess the four of us will be teaming up then," He replied and looked at the other three heroes.
Their advisor shuffled awkwardly, "Ahem, actually I'm afraid you cannot.”
“That's-"
""What?""
"Why?!” Kakyoin did not want to let this go.
"Your legendary weapons have a limitation. When two or more summoned heroes work together the experience fueling the weapon and status menu magics will be reduced. Experience from quests or killing monsters, all of it.”
The spear hero scoffed, "That's a dumb rule."
The displaced Stardust Crusader liked none of this. “Of all the arbitrary, ridiculous reveals today, that-"
"I just-"
"Who would set it up like that?! That just discourages us from working together! Why would someone even think of putting in a limitation like that?!” Kakyoin pinched the bridge of his nose, breath escaping with a hiss.
Standing attentively by the seated royal, the king's scholar braved the fiery tempers with conciliatory words. He caught his ruler's permissive wave.
“Well I know you- all of you- have to take these measures in. Appraising your futures sounds practical, but not tonight.
"I advise that our heroes should rest up in preparation for tomorrow. Do allow the maids to escort you to your rooms.” Faces followed his gesture, where a group of women entered the throne room.
A part of Kakyoin wanted to keep investigating. The truth about his friends was out of his reach, but that restless desire to learn lingered. Perhaps rest would do him some good. Rest, calming his nerves, would allow him to think more clearly.
“Alright then. I guess some rest wouldn't hurt,” said Kakyoin.
Following the lead of the uniformed maids, his group filed out.
“Oh," he said, picking one out. "If it isn't too much of a bother could you bring me some green tea? I need something to drink to help me ease my mind a little.”
The black-haired maid shifted towards the leaning Kakyoin. Eyes flickering to and fro, her face close, she scrambled to respond. “O- of, yes of course! Anything you need, Sir Hero!” Side-stepping the group, her skirt fluttered as she speed-walked down a side hall.
The "lucky" chosen of the Spear took it in stride. “Gee," he spoke to Kakyoin. "Look at you; already a hit with the ladies. I think I can bet your face and the rest of those attributes of yours, you'll have tons of girls throwing themselves at you."
"I'm slightly jealous.”
Kakyoin turned his gaze to their path. He shrugged off the comment; he's had his fair share of female admirers. Kakyoin didn't care too much about it, gathering or avoiding the attention.
–----------------------------------------------------------
Eventually the four heroes thanked the staff and watched them file out. As one the heroes gathered together, ready to discuss more about their situation. Kakyoin was the first to break the ice.
“First, to each of you, I wanted to apologize for how I acted. I went through a lot before I came here," he said. "Just to say it honestly, this? It is the last thing I could have expected when I died.” Kakyoin rubbed the back of his neck.
The spear hero was the first to respond “Don't worry about it. I mean I didn't expect this either, even now it sounds like pure fiction." Motoyasu frowned. "When I was dying, the last thing I remember happening... Was getting stabbed to death by these two girls that liked me. Then? Then I was here, holding this spear.”
“Wait really? Yeesh!" The bow hero responded, "Talk about a way to go! I mean I was returning home from school then BAM- I got hit HARD by a dump truck!”
The Sword and Spear heroes adopted small smirks, noticing the same thing. Truck-kun had claimed their latest victim.
“Now for me, I guess? I found myself stuck, wanting to run from this serial killer, trying to get to the police. I didn't have a real weapon, but I needed to protect my childhood friend from them. Now I'm here to fight something else. "said the sword hero.
Ren was a younger student, but his voice wasn't cracking. Looking at him, Kakyoin's mind flew through the fighters he had encountered, even Jotaro at the start. Was it like that for Ren?
If he had been a weaker stand user, would-
“Oh yeah," Motoyasu started. "You mentioned you were in Cairo before you came here, what were you doing in Afghanistan anyways?" The wall clinked as he set the spear aside.
“Before that, Cairo isn't a city in Afghanistan. It's Egypt's capital. And well, it would probably take about 16 hours to explain the whole story," he said.
"But I'll keep things brief. Me and my friends had to go there to kill a dangerous man, one that was untouchable by police or normal means. We had to take matters into our own hands. My American friend kept us supplied, going through old cities and towns that were too small for a spot on the map. That man, with his own resources, tried to cut us down with any dirty trick you can imagine."
"Two of my friends fell while trying to kill our foe. We had a frantic fight in Cairo. Then he killed me." Kakyoin swallowed. "But I did leave a message to my friends about his ultimate strength. I can only pray and hope that they can figure it out. I know they can make it.”
“So what, this means you're something like a vigilante then?” The bow hero asked.
“I suppose that's one way of putting it.” Kakyoin said.
“Seriously dude that sounds like something out of a light novel or manga or something can't you be more specific?” The spear wielder asked, throwing out a hand.
“Like I said, it's a very long story and a little unbelievable. I'll probably tell the whole thing later.” Kakyoin leaned back in his seat.
“It feels like you're avoiding the question.” The sword hero began, until a knock at the door interrupted.
In walked the same maid Kakyoin had picked out. She crossed the group of watchers and offered her delivery of tea. The stand user accepted the drink, plate and cup.
“Thank you,” said Kakyoin.
“D-don't worry about it sir hero. If there's anything else you find yourself in need of, be sure to let me know.” The black hair woman replied, not meeting his gaze, and excused herself to leave.
The door to the rest of the castle's residents closed. Kakyoin looked back at the other three, conversing amongst themselves. Kakyoin began to gather his thoughts. ‘They each died, albeit in different ways. And were summoned to be heroes, just like me, for this world's people. The king said he could allow me to return after the first wave is over. I could go back to my world, but is it that simple? How does time work here and between my world? Did it take time for my body to fix itself and appear? Perhaps it's a difference in rates- a situation where days and months are mere seconds in my world's time... but that's just a possibility.'
'Aside from that, the king seems to loathe me?. If he hates me, and I know what I saw, why would he make me fight in these waves rather than opening the way back now? He could be thinking on a larger scale, him or that advisor. There is that quote Mister Joestar said before-
'Desperate times call for desperate measures.'
Kakyoin sipped his tea, finding it refreshing in spite of the minor bitterness. He released a breath, the day's tension making itself known across his body. As he returned the cup back down to his plate that feeling of refreshment fell away, replaced with fear-
Kakyoin saw something in the reflection the tea was giving off! Standing behind him, unmistakable to His eyes, that shark-like grin was Dio!
Kakyoin let out a gasp before shooting his head backwards and looking behind him and there was nothing… The stand user took a few deep breaths. ‘Calm down, be calm... It was just your eyes playing tricks on you. There's no way Dio is here. He can't be.’
Kakyoin returned his gaze to the group. Looking forward again it seemed that the other three didn't notice his odd outburst. Hmm. If this was Japan, the polite thing to do would be to ignore. Thankfully they were still in a conversation.
“But yeah it's totally like an em-em-oh” the spear wielder said.
“What's that?” Kakyoin finally spoke up.
“Whoa, what? Seriously Kakyoin you've never played an ar-pee-gee before?!” Itsuki asked. His eyebrow was raised, and Kakyoin took a second to think.
“Ah, no! No, of course- I love video games and RPGs are some of my favorites. I own both of the Final Fantasy games."
"I have Dragon's Quest I and II, and my pride and joy of my collection Dragon's Quest III. I literally had to camp outside the store to get it. More than anything at the arcade, those RPGs were the best! I played constantly in my free time on my Famicom back home.”
“Famico-? FAMICOM?! Who uses a Famicom anymore?” The spear hero was shaking his head.
“Eh? What do you mean? Everyone uses a Famicom it's the only way to play video games at home. I don't have any of the ones from overseas. Though I did hear they were making a console that allows you to play on the go.”
“Seriously man," Itsuki clasped his hands and pointed, "What year are you from?!”
“1989?” Kakyoin replied nonchalantly. The spear hero's jaw dropped. Kakyoin raised his cup again. 'Mmm.'
Hopefully there was no one sleeping in the room next door. From the way Itsuki's wide eyes and gaping mouth looked at him-
“SERIOUSLY," he shouted.
"You're not joking?” The bow hero spoke up.
“No, not a joke. Why would I be?”
The group, boggled, looked between each other. A nervous energy grabbed everyone.
“You're completely Serious aren't you? I'm from 2025.” The Sword hero spoke and nobody could really believe it.
“That's… hold on give me a second.” Kakyoin paused and rubbed his chin as he did the math between the time gaps. “36 years in the future! That's unreal, say Ren in the future is it possible to digitally upload your brain?”
“I've only seen that done in this one animated web series that really should remain forgotten. But we do have VR games that use all of your senses. ” The sword hero responded.
“So we all come from different years then? There's something I've been wondering, "Hey, what social media networks do you guys use?” The spear hero asked.
“What's a Social media network?” Kakyoin asked, puzzled hearing another term from the future.
The spear hero had to process Kakyoin's confusion for a second before realizing the obvious. “Oh right you're from the 80s, bad first question! Never mind whose face is on the one thousand yen bill?”
All four heroes answered at the same time
“Yawara Gotaro.”
“Yuda Masato.”
“ Kodaka Enichi.”
“Natsume Soseki.”
And All Four had different answers
“Who?”
“What?”
More questions were asked by all of them and again everyone had different answers until they all realized the same thing.
“We're all from different universes.” Motoyasu said out loud.
“That's what it seems like honestly I probably wouldn't believe it myself but when Ren said he had no idea what Nintendo was then that proved it without a shadow of a doubt.” Kakyoin replied.
“Yeah I guess we were all chosen because of our rpg knowledge but still I don't know what they expect you to do with that.” The bow hero pointed to the shield on Kakyoin's arm.
“To be honest I'd much prefer an axe or something but just because it's a shield doesn't mean it's useless.” Kakyoin replied.
“Kakyoin it's a shield man, what are you going to do with it bash monsters to death?” The spear hero spoke in a tone that seemed condescending.
“Maybe but even if it is useless I still have other means to defend myself.” Kakyoin put his hands on the back of his head as he leaned back in his chair, referring to his stand .
“What's that supposed to mean?” The sword hero asked.
Kakyoin just grinned a little bit and said “That's a secret.”
The red-headed hero finished his drink, setting the cup and platter down on the table in the room. “Well, this has been an interesting discussion, but I should probably get some sleep. See you three in the morning.” With a small wave, Kakyoin walked out of the room and down the hall to where he would be sleeping.
When he opened the door, it became painfully clear just how low the king’s opinion of the Shield Hero was. Compared to the Spear Hero’s lavish accommodations, Kakyoin’s room looked like a cruel joke. Inside was a single bed that appeared as though it had been kept in a barn for months. Beside it sat a wobbly nightstand, its short leg propped up by three books. The room contained little else—an old wooden tub and a lonely chair tucked into the corner.
Kakyoin let out an annoyed sigh before checking his pockets and emptying their contents onto the nightstand. Most of it was junk: some loose change that held no value in this new world and a pack of coffee gum Avdol had given him to keep Iggy under control. Seeing the gum made him miss the two even more. Among the small pile was one item of true value—his sunglasses.
Kakyoin smiled as he picked them up, memories flooding back. Mr. Joestar had given him the sunglasses while he was recovering after having his eyes slashed by Geb. They had not only protected his vision but had become a precious memento of the friends he had lost. Though he had spent only 50 days with them, it felt like an entire lifetime. Their sentimental value was beyond measure.
The Stand user set the sunglasses down before lying on the bed despite its looks it wasn't too uncomfortable although it took a few minutes of tossing and turning to find the right position to sleep right it wasn't helped by the fact Kakyoin didn't have any Pajamas he often wore before bed so his school uniform he always wore had to substitute after a while Kakyoin closed his eyes and fell asleep.
–-------------------------------
Kakyoin opened his eyes again to find himself in an unfamiliar location. “Where am I? Am I still in the castle?” Kakyoin tried to move only to realize his arms and legs were chained and shackled to what looked like a torture rack! “Shit! HIEROPHANT GREEN!” He shouted trying to summon his stand yet nothing came out. Kakyoin began to sweat and pant as he tried to struggle out of his binds to no effect! “Ho! Look at you struggling like a fly that's caught in a spider's web!” that Voice It couldn't be!? “DIO!!!” Kakyoin looked to his left as he saw the Vampire walk slowly to the end of the rack Kakyoin was bound on. “I have to give you credit you actually managed to figure out the world's power to stop time.” DIO began clapping slowly with a smug smirk. “Bravo Bravo indeed in the last minute of your life you have proven that you have grown since our first meeting. It's such a shame your last moments did nothing to help your so-called friends..” DIO began to laugh as he saw Kakyoin's terror grow. “Did you seriously think that old fool Joseph would actually be able to decipher that message of yours hmm? Too bad he couldn't understand in time, maybe just maybe Polnareff and Jotaro would have stood a chance against me.” The Vampire began to Cackle loudly.
Kakyoin heard growls from both sides. He looked to his left, then to his right, and saw Jotaro, Mr. Joestar, Polnareff, Avdol, and even Iggy. However, their flesh was rotting, tinged with a sickly purple hue, and emitting a putrid stench. As the five opened their mouths, they revealed sharp fangs gleaming in the dim light.
“I know how much these worms meant to you, so I figured I’d give you a final gift,” DIO sneered, taking a step back. “You’ll get to join your friends as undead minions of mine!”
Kakyoin’s former allies slowly advanced toward him, their claws extending. Before he could react, their talons dug into his stomach, tearing through flesh and muscle, exposing his entrails.
“AGH! NO! NO! STOP! STOP! STOP IT—STOOOOOOOPPPPPPP!!!!!!!”
Kakyoin’s eyes shot open as he bolted upright in bed, his body drenched in sweat. His chest heaved as he struggled to catch his breath, the morning light filtering through the lone window of his subpar bedroom.
“It was just a nightmare… Ugh… I haven’t had one that bad since my fight with Death 13…”
Taking a few deep breaths, he swung his legs over the side of the bed. His gaze drifted toward the tub in the corner, filled with warm water—probably prepared for him by one of the maids. It was a small mercy, considering how much he was sweating. With a sigh, he undressed and stepped into the tub. It was a little on the small side, barely giving him any space, but the warmth was soothing. He let himself relax as he washed before using the last of the water to clean his school uniform.
After slipping into his boxers, Kakyoin opened the window and hung his clothes out to dry. Just as he did, a knock echoed at the door. Peeking out, he saw a young maid standing outside.
“Um, Sir Kakyoin, whenever you get the chance, His Majesty has requested that all four heroes assemble in the throne room as soon as possible,” she informed him meekly.
“Sure. Tell the King I’ll be there in ten minutes—my clothes are still drying.”
The maid nodded before walking off. Kakyoin closed the door and sat down in the chair, exhaling slowly. With a flick of his wrist, the sunglasses temples extended as he put them on
“Looks like we’re going on another bizarre adventure,” Kakyoin muttered before reaching for his uniform.

Chapter Text
As Kakyoin walked into the throne room, he saw the king, the other three heroes, and several others clad in different armor sets. Kakyoin noticed the King and the others giving him odd stares. “Wow, cool shades, where did you get them?” His attention was drawn to the spear hero's question. “Thanks, I had them on me before I got here, a gift from one of my friends back in my world.” Kakyoin smiled slightly, he noticed Itsuki giving him a somewhat Jealous look while Ren was indifferent. “Shades, so that's what those things covering your eyes are called? I have to admit they do make you look rather attractive! ” A woman piped up amongst the crowd with red hair. Kakyoin paused and looked at her. She's only spoken to him once, yet he already has a bad feeling about her. Her smile seemed way too wide and didn't match the look in her eyes. Some might call him paranoid, but he had to be to survive when dealing with DIO's minions. Kakyoin took a breath before responding, “Well, they're called Sunglasses, but shades are another name for them, like-”
The King's voice cut off Kakyoin's explanation, “We can talk about trivial matters like that later; we have more pressing matters to deal with, Shield Hero.”
“Right, my apologies.” Kakyoin sighed before putting his hands in his pockets as he let Aultcray speak.
“Now then, today we’ll be assembling your parties. Those who stand before you have volunteered to join you on your Quests to fight the waves of destruction; each volunteer will be given free rein to join whichever hero they desire to fight alongside.” With that, the volunteers walked up to the heroes they chose to After a few seconds, they made their decisions, and none of them chose to join Kakyoin. “Well, it seems that everyone has made their decisions, but it seems there's one small problem. I honestly didn't expect this.” Kakyoin rolled his eyes at the king's remark. It was clear he honestly didn't care about the problem facing the Shield hero.
As Kakyoin finished rolling his eyes, he got tapped on the shoulder and turned his head, It was the same woman who gushed over him just a few moments ago. With reddish pink hair, pale skin, red lipstick, and about a good 3 inches shorter than Kakyoin
She was dressed surprisingly well for an adventurer, too, in an outfit you’d expect to see on a noble then a common adventurer
The woman then spoke, “I saw you didn’t have anyone who wanted to join up, mister shield hero, so..would you like me to be a part of your team?”
Kakyoin looked at her and studied her for a second. He already had an uneasy feeling about her; her demeanor seemed off, like she was putting on a show rather than being genuine. “Why do you want to join my team rather than one of the other heroes?”
“Because you're so handsome, that's why I can't leave you all on your lonesome!”
Kakyoin stared at her eyes again. She was doing her best to give this cute innocent girl vibe yet it still felt forced and the fact that she simply deflected the question by praising his looks was another tell. Most guys would fall for this type of flattery but Kakyoin wasn't most guys she was hiding something. Something Kakyoin didn't want to try and figure out.
“Thanks, but no thanks. I'll be fine on my own,” Kakyoin replied with a small smile, feigning politeness.
“A-are you sure with just a shield you'd be completely unable to fight on your own? I can help you! I'm good with a sword! Monsters would be nothing with me at your side!” The young woman was getting desperate now.
“Myne, he's clearly made his choice if doesnt want any help, so be it.” The tone of voice of the monarch made clear he was ridiculing Kakyoin for refusing the young woman's help.
“Fine, but do know the offer still stands, Shield Hero. If not, perhaps we could get to know one another later?” The Girl, whose name was Myne, looked at him disappointedly.
“Maybe.” Was Kakyoin's curt reply, although he had already decided he wanted nothing to do with her.
Four servants stepped forward, each carrying a cloth coin purse. They handed one to each of the four heroes.
“Since the Shield Hero is acting alone, he will receive 800 silver coins to compensate. The rest of you shall each receive 600. This is intended to help you acquire equipment for your missions. Consider it your initial war chest. You will also receive a monthly payment for your continued service.”
“Wait, hold on—that’s it?” Kakyoin asked, frowning. “Just some silver coins? Shouldn’t we be getting armor or training or something?”
“Come on, Kakyoin,” the Bow Hero chimed in, grinning. “You’ve played RPGs before—you know this is just the starter gear. We level up and get stronger with time, right?”
“Yeah, but in an RPG, you usually play as someone who already knows how to swing a sword or cast basic spells,” Kakyoin retorted. “Have you ever actually used a bow before?”
“Uhh… no, but it can’t be that hard to learn, right? What, are you saying you need training just to use a shield?”
“Maybe,” Kakyoin muttered. “I don’t know. But if we’re supposed to be saving the world, don’t you think we should be given more than a sack of coins and a pat on the back?”
“I understand your concerns, Shield Hero, but we have other situations that require time and resources that we cannot spare at the moment. You are responsible for gathering your resources and learning your skills.” The elderly monarch gave Kakyoin an annoyed glare. Kakyoin gave a simple shrug and stayed quiet.
“Now, Brave heroes, go forth and do your duties to help save this land!” With that, the four heroes and their parties funneled out of the room and out of the castle, Kakyoin took a moment to close his eyes and breathe in the fresh air. The sun was out and high in the sky as he voiced his thoughts, “First things first, I should get some supplies. I always remembered in Dragon Quest you had to stock up on potions and arm yourself.” Kakyoin then began to walk through the streets, enjoying the breeze and taking in the capital's sights. Carts and wagons were being towed by horses and occasionally, these large bird-like creatures that looked similar to chocobos from Final Fantasy 2.
“Where are the supply shops anyway?” Kakyoin asked himself he saw a sign post and looked at it however instead of Kanji it was written in this odd language he never seen before as soon as he looked at it a message popped up from his Hud
“You currently lack the ability to read written languages.”
Kakyoin frowned and sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You've got to be kidding me.” Kakyoin looked around then spotted a random passerby, a young woman with short black hair. “Excuse me Miss, sorry to bother you but would you happen to know where the stores are located?”
“Oh of course follow me. I like your clothes, they're very nice looking, they suit you I never seen any designed like them and those odd pair of glasses on your face really gives you this mysterious look. I take it you're an adventurer” Kakyoin didn't really pay much attention to the flattery as he replied “Thank you and yes I am can you tell me about each of the stores?”
“Well the stores in this section of the city are a weapons store, a clothing store, a Merchant’s Shop, a food store that sells rations, and a Ceramics shop, though adventurers never really go to the last one. The weapon store is right over there.” The woman explained before pointing to it.
“I appreciate your help.”
“Oh don't mention it have a nice day who knows maybe well see each other again later.” the woman said winking
“Only time will tell.” With a wave goodbye, Kakyion walked into the weapons store inside, where various weapons and armor sets were on display. Behind the counter of the store was the owner, a large muscular man who was polishing a sword to a shine. He looked up at Kakyoin and smiled.
“Welcome in feel free to take a look around if you have any questions let me know.”
“I will.” Kakyoin looked around at the weapons on display after a quick search he saw a short sword. ‘Not too big, easily concealable and probably quick to take out. It'll go perfectly with my shield.’ as Kakyoin reached for it and picked it up he felt a harsh shock to his hand, causing him to let out a yell of pain as he instinctively summoned Hierophant Green in the off chance this was a trap of some sort as he rubbed his palms together in attempt to soothe the pain of the sudden shock he looked behind him and saw the store owner looking over him with a very concerned look. “You okay? You scared the hell out of me kid!”
“I'm okay but what was that? The second I grabbed it it shocked me!” as soon as Kakyoin said that another pop up from his hud appeared.
This weapon cannot be wielded with the cardinal weapon of the shield, as all heroes must only use their cardinal weapon.
“Oh come on I'm limited to this damn shield that's completely impractical! Ugh, these cardinal weapons feel like more trouble than they're worth.” Kakyoin held his face with his hands, frustrated as he let out a groan.
“Cardinal Weapons you mean you're one of the Four heroes summoned to help in the waves? I should've figured never seen an outfit or glasses like that before.”
“Yeah, I'm Noraki Kakyoin the Shield hero but you can just call me Kakyoin like all my friends do.” Kakyoin then held out his hand for the shopkeeper to shake hierophant green stood behind its user the Shopkeeper was oblivious to it unsurprisingly as most stands are invisible to non stand users.
The shopkeeper took the stand user's hand before introducing himself. “Names Elhart I run the place and I forge most of the weapons here although I doubt they'd be much use to you, being the shield hero and all but I can get you a nice pair of armor at a good price.”
Kakyoin looked down at his custom-made school uniform before looking back at Elhart then shook his head with a polite smile, saying, “I appreciate your offer, but I'll have to refuse.” much to the Shopkeepers confusion
“What but why? You do know what you're wearing doesn't give you much protection right?”
“Yes I know that but I've worn this uniform a lot recently and it's grown on me plus, armor could limit my movement and dexterity, while my uniform doesn't.”
“Well I suppose you have a point but it really gives you away and makes it easy for monsters and bandits to spot you.” Kakyoin looked at his uniform once more and realized that he was right .
“Hmmm, well, what do you suggest?” With that, Elhart smiled before heading over to the store counter and coming back with a black cloak
“I'm glad you asked. This is a cloak made from the fine scales of a baby dragon and four mimic skins. Not only does it increase stealth capability but also your agility and Resistance it's also pretty snazzy looking, right? Why don't you try it on?” Kakyoin took it and put it on and looked at himself in the mirror. It fit him rather well with the cloak reaching down to his knees and was able to be buttoned up as well as having a hood and the cloak itself felt like it was made of fine silk. The Shield hero then checked his status magic to see the benefits.

Kakyoin nodded before pulling out the coin purse from his pocket “Alright I'll take it, how much for it?”
“350 silver.” Kakyoin pulled out the coins and handed them over paying for them. “Thank you for your patronage feel free to come back anytime I'm bound to have something to your liking.”
“No, thank you I'll be sure to drop by later and pick up a few more things.” Kakyoin waved goodbye before heading outside back into the streets as he saw Motoyasu and his party were walking to the same store as he was. Kakyoin noticed that Motoyasu's party only consisted of women and that Myne was amongst them.
“Oh hey Kakyoin, are you about to go out grinding soon?” the spear hero asked.
“Yeah, I just bought myself some gear from the shop here.”
“Hey one thing I would like to ask. ” Motoyasu said as he walked towards an expensive looking armor dress on display in the shops window “I think this would look good on Elena? What do you think Kakyoin” Kakyoin was confused As he said
“You're buying an expensive gift for your party member?”
“Well yeah come on if I want my own personal battle harem, I gotta make sure they'll be heads over heels for me and gifts are the best way to make a girl fall for you.”
Kakyoin smirked a bit as memories from his bizarre adventure came back to him before saying “You know you remind me of my friend Polnareff a bit he was always a massive ladies man despite that he was a good person at heart and honestly my personal opinion it would look good on her but you should probably focus on getting yourself some armor before that.”
“Yeah yeah I know. Maybe later then. But I'll pick up some good stuff for them you know you could have a whole harem of girls yourself I mean you're like a textbook Bishonen.”
“Eh, romance isn't really on my mind right now I just want to get this shield hero stuff over with then go back home. I got to get going to start leveling up, see you later.”
With that Kakyoin took his leave heading out of the capital into the nearby woods looking for monsters.
As Kakyoin walked into the forest he kept his wits about him uncertain of what could be lying in wait he heard some bushes shift as something jumped out at him biting at the shield heroes shoulder as Kakyoin grabbed it and tossed it onto the ground before stomping on it however it didn't do much effect as the creature bit at his foot which didn't really hurt all too much Kakyoin looked at it as it was an orange blob with eyes and a mouth Kakyoin shook it off before grabbing it and throwing into a tree Only for it to lunge at him again with its pitiful attack barely even dealing any damage to the stand user. “Ugh how the hell is this thing still alive? I hit it hard so many times, wait how much damage do I deal again?” He pulled up his status Magic and looked at his stats one more time as the monster bit at his leg.
Physical Damage 1
“You have got to be kidding me I can't believe I overlooked that ugh forget it Hierophant Green!” Kakyoin shouted, summoning his stand and kicking the balloon off of him before hitting it with an emerald splash, killing the creature easily. As it dissipated leaving only orange pieces in its wake. The shield hero picked them up and examined them. “Guess this is a loot drop.” Kakyoin looked at the gem inside the shield as he noticed it glow a bit. “I wonder…” he then put the drop into the green gem as it absorbed the pieces.
New shield unlocked Orange small shield Endurance+2
As the pop up notified him, the Shield on Kakyoin's arm shifted into a small orange shield. “Woah, that's actually pretty cool. It reminds me of when I fought high priestess. Wonder what else I could put into this thing?” Kakyoin grabbed some grass before putting it into the shield.
New shield unlocked Grass shield Agility +2
Kakyoin smirked before grabbing breaking off pieces of tree bark then some leaves.
New shield unlocked Wood shield Endurance +3
New shield unlocked Leaf shield Agility+3
“Note to self whenever I find new materials I should put them into my shield to unlock more shields this is going to be fun.” Kakyoin smiled as he began walking deeper into the woods killing more balloons with Hierophant Green he noted that there were different colored Versions of them orange, red, and yellow with these different skins came two new shields
A small red and a small orange shield. Although rather easy to kill Kakyoin noticed they didn't give much in the way of XP, only 15 experience for each one killed.
“There has to be some higher-level monsters around here somewhere right?” as Kakyoin said this he looked at his stats screen again by now he had leveled up to level 3 which was a bit of a slog as he had to kill roughly 30 of those balloon creatures. It would've been worse if he didn't have Hierophant Green.
Then Kakyoin heard a howl behind him the stand user quickly spun around as he saw what appeared to be a wolf only it had glowing purple eyes and claws more akin to a lion “Now this is a monster worth killing!”
Once more the red-headed stand user summoned Hierophant Green as the beast charged at him hitting it with an Emerald splash causing it to let out a yelp of pain before rushing off into dense foliage Kakyoin followed suit hovering above him acting as his eyes in the sky.
As he did this Kakyoin heard a twig snap as he turned around his eyes widened in Horror as he saw that Familiar smile with sharp fangs DIO! Kakyoin let out a shout of surprise before having Hierophant Green shoot an emerald splash at the Vampire, shooting up some dust. Kakyoin began to sweat and pant. As the dust settled Kakyoin saw nothing. “What the hell? Where is he?! DIO YOU BASTARD COME OUT HERE AND FACE ME!!” He roared.
As Kakyoin was distracted the wolf pounced on his back and began clawing at him thankfully his cloak managed to protect him from serious injury as Kakyoin struggled about getting a lucky hit in to the Beast's stomach momentarily stunning it using this moment Kakyoin summoned his stand and launched an emerald splash point blank into its head killing it. Kakyoin threw the carcass off of him and laid down in the dirt catching his breath as he talked to himself. “That was DIO wasn't it?! Were my eyes playing tricks on me? Is he really here? No he can't be… can he? Ugh damnit even with my stand I was caught off guard…” Kakyoin felt a sense of Deja Vu as he thought about his final moments in his world even with Hierophant green Dio managed to get the upper hand on him like the wolf did upon realizing this he concluded "I've been too dependent on my stand for the longest time I can't rely on it all of the time.”
The stand User let out a sigh before checking his stats noticing that the Kill leveled him up to level 7 as he closed it he saw that the sun was beginning to set Kakyoin stood up and stretched. “I'd best get back to town and rest up before it gets dark. Level 7 isn't a bad start for a bit of grinding. Hopefully, I can reach level 10 tomorrow.”
As Kakyoin walked into the local inn he noticed that the other heroes were there with their respective parties. “Oh hey Kakyoin you finished grinding? How did it go for you?” the bow hero questioned him although his tone of voice seemed to be somewhat condescending; perhaps he didn't expect much of the shield hero as he sipped from mug holding some sort of yellow beverage
“Pretty good I got roughed up a little bit but I managed to get to level seven took me a while for me to get there though.” Kakyoin said as he took of his sunglasses and put them in his pocket.
The bow hero did a spit take as he looked at his fellow hero baffled “Seriously Level 7 with just a shield, all on your own how did you do that?!” Kakyoin just grinned and shrugged “I have my ways.”
“That's amazing really I mean seriously have you ever heard of anybody actually fighting with a shield before?” the bow hero's question seemed rhetorical but despite this Kakyoin quickly answered back.
“Yeah, Captain America does.” Itsuki looked confused. “Who?”
“You mean you don't know who Captain America is? I mean, he's one of Mar-” Kakyoin began to explain before realizing why the bow hero didn't know. “Ah, different universes, right, well basically he's this American Comic book hero who fights with a shield.”
“Well, that's kind of lame, I mean, come on what kind of name is Captain America? Guess whoever made it couldn't come up with a better one.”
Kakyoin didn't answer. He was already hungry and exhausted, and honestly couldn't wait much longer. He sat down at an empty table and looked at one of the barmaids. “Excuse me, can I just have today's special?”
“Of course, handsome, coming right up.” Kakyoin rubbed the back of his neck and gave an embarrassed smile at that remark as he waited for his food.
Looking Around Kakyoin studied the other heroes’ parties Ren's party seemed to be stuck in a pleasant conversation however the sword hero wasn't taking part in it mainly eating his meal and nodding along presumably feigning interest.
Itsuki's party was listening to the bow hero talking about how amazing he was during their time grinding with his party members agreeing, clearly stroking his ego.
Motoyasu seemed to be doing his best to try and charm his ‘battle harem’ on the surface it seemed to be working but Kakyoin could tell that they were faking it Mynes’ eyes were wandering when she saw the stand user staring at her she gave Kakyoin a wink before excusing herself from the spear heroes’ table walking towards Kakyoin however as she did another girl with orange hair that Kakyoin didn't see before or notice stepped in front of her.
“Excuse me, is this seat taken?” She asked.
Kakyoin’s Eyes widened a bit at her sudden appearance before shaking his head and smiling. “No it's not feel free.”
Myne pouted before trying to say something only for the barmaid to come back with his meal fried fish with a fruit salad and a drink. “Here you are Good looking, it's on the house Lady over by the bar paid for you.” she said as she gestured to a graceful middle-aged woman who gave him a wave.
“Oh umm well tell her I said thanks?” Kakyoin began to blush and feel a bit flustered at the sudden attention he was getting as he tried to eat his meal. Once again Myne tried to say something only for yet another woman with brown hair to approach his table and lean on it. “Oh my, what happened to your eyes? You have scars on them.”
“Oh eh it's a long story, one I would rather not get into right now.” Kakyoin explained.
“Well, I have to admit they do make you look rather Manly.” the one with orange hair cooed.
“Hmm, I agree scars always make a man.” the one with Brown hair said.
“Even without them I'm sure he'd be just as handsome.”
The girls kept praising and flirting with the shield hero as Myne stood behind them unable to get a word in before eventually storming back to the spear heroes’ table in a huff.
Kakyoin did his best to block out the attention and focus on the meal he was eating although that was easier said than done.
‘Now I know how Jotaro feels when it comes to women he's right the attention can be rather annoying.’ Kakyoin thought to himself as he finished up his main dish he saw that his fruit salad had a cherry on top he smiled before picking it up and putting it in his mouth and rolling it around on his tongue “Rero Rero Rero Rero.” As he did this the women around him went silent in stunned bafflement at his sudden odd behavior. Kakyoin then gulped it down before speaking. “Ah uhh sorry it's just how I eat cherries. I love savoring the flavor they have before eating them. It's a habit of mine.” The girls remained silent unsure of what to say and they remained that way for the rest of the meal.
After finishing his meal Kakyoin rented a room to stay the night inside laid a simple chest for storage and a bed, a small desk and a chair. It wasn't much but compared to his original room in the castle it was practically luxurious. Kakyoin pulled his coin purse and sunglasses out before storing them in the chest as he laid down on the bed. Although trying as he might no amount of tossing and turning helped him fall asleep even in a comfortable bed and room the stand user felt unsafe fearing yet another nightmare of DIO or perhaps something worse. Kakyoin sighed before standing up. “Maybe some fresh air would help.”
As Kakyoin walked outside he took a deep breath as he looked up at the starry night sky nobody else seemed to be out at this time as he enjoyed the relatively peace and quiet. As he thought about his friends back in his world and the uneasy feeling he had about his message before his death. ‘I shouldn't be so pessimistic Mr Joestar is a smart man he's bound to figure it out I know he can’
“Hey, you.” Kakyoin's inner thoughts were interrupted by a young man's voice kakyoin looked over and saw a young man with brown hair in a guard outfit. “Any reason you're out so late?” The man seemed suspicious of him, perhaps thinking he might be a thief or something of the sorts.
“Ah I'm just getting some fresh air. I've been having trouble sleeping since I've started doing all this hero stuff suddenly,” Kakyoin explained, pointing to the shield on his arm.
“Oh wait you're the shield hero aren't you?”
“Yes indeed I am Noriaki Kakyoin at your service. What's your name?” Kakyoin held his hand out for a shake although the young man seemed hesitant to shake it for some unknown reason.
“I'm Ake I'm a member of the Royal Army right now I'm just doing my rounds. Making sure nobody tries to break into the shops and businesses that kind of stuff a lot of thieves have been popping up since the waves started. I can't really blame them though a lot of refugees have been coming in lately. There's just not enough food for everyone.” The soldier talked about the struggles everyone was facing.
“Yeah hard times drive people to lows they normally wouldn't stoop to. It's a harsh fact of life even from my world as well. But don't worry we’ll be doing our best to help everyone out during these tough times. It's my duty as a hero.” Kakyoin reassured the young man as he looked back up at the night sky again as he did he saw three shooting stars flying alongside one another the Shield hero smiled at seeing this taking it as a good omen and a sign that his friends were safe for now.
“Well I'm going to head back to the inn take care, Ike,” Kakyoin said to him.
“Um, you too but my name is Ake.”
“Sorry, my bad Ake.” The young men chuckled at the stand users’ fumble as Kakyoin waved Goodbye before heading back to his room. As soon as he opened his door he saw a familiar face inside of it closing the chest in his room. Kakyoin's eyes widened before saying. “Myne what are you doing here?”
The young woman let out a yelp of surprise at his sudden interjection. “Oh Sir Kakyoin, what are you doing up this late?” the woman asked.
“I could ask you the same thing. What are you doing in my room?” Kakyoin demanded.
“I came to see you of course i..i know we didn't get off on the right foot at first but I was hoping we could fix that… truth is I….find you very attractive and I want to be close to you…” The red-haired girl tried to feign affection, reaching to grab his hand. Kakyoin quickly pulled his own away. “Dont touch me!”
“But why? What's wrong?”
Kakyoin let out an annoyed sigh "Myne do you think im stupid?" "What are you talking abou-" "I'm asking you a question, do. you. think. im. stupid?" "Umm n-no-" "Yes you do stop playing dumb i know your types you act all innocent and sweet to get people to let their guard down and as soon as they do that's when you strike. Now hand it over." Kakyoin held his hand out in front of her
"Hand-o-over what? Sir Kakyoin you're scar-"
Kakyoin quickly cut her off, annoyed "Didn't I tell you to stop lying and quit the act you're not fooling me now hand it over!" "Hand over what?" "My coin purse you were looking in that chest when I came in and I remember that's where I last left it and I know you took it now make this easy and hand it over." "Why are you being so ru-" "Will you cut it out im not a moron think of it like a trade you hand over my coin purse and ill promise not to report you to the city watch you know in my world during the medieval times some kingdoms used to punish thieves by cutting one of their hands off to discourage them and others from trying to steal I don't know about this world enough if they do that here or not but think about it you stealing from one of the 4 great heroes who are destined to save this world from the waves wouldn't look good. Now hand. It. over." If looks could kill Myne would already be dead.
Kakyoin expected her to try and keep her act up but in a bizarre change of behavior she relented and handed the coin purse over. Kakyoin held it before checking in the chest to see if she took anything else, however it seemed that the silver was all she was after as his sunglasses lay untouched. “Can I go now?” The woman's attitude and voice changed drastically, showing her true face. “Not yet.” Kakyoin walked over to the desk before pouring the silver onto it. “I'm going to count all the coins I have to make sure you didn't take any out of the purse.” Kakyoin said as he began to count summoning Hierophant Green as well as he saw through the eyes of his stand he could see her try to slip out. “And don't even think of trying to sneak out like you're doing right now. I have eyes in the back of my head.” The woman groaned in annoyance to the stand users' amusement.
After 5 long minutes Kakyoin counted all the remaining coins and determined that none of it was stolen out of the purse as he scooped it all up and put it back into it.
“Alright done you can go now.” Myne let out a sigh of relief before heading to the door.
“Oh, and one more thing don't ever try to pull something like this on me again if you do you might lose something more meaningful than a few extra minutes of sleep.” With that Kakyoin let her leave as she slammed the door behind her in frustration.
Kakyoin got up before walking over to his bed and putting the coin purse under his pillow before lying down on it, feeling tired. “I get the feeling this isn't going to be the end of her antics.” He yawned. “But that's a problem for tomorrow.” he said as he drifted off to sleep.
