Chapter Text
Many pursuits, many leads, and no results that was what Mahanon Lavellan was getting fed up with. Ever since disbanding the Inquisition a year prior, he was pursuing Solas across Thedas alongside his former advisors, who banded together.
Originally sent by the Clan Keeper to the Conclave, Mahanon survived the explosion, and became the Herald of Andraste. He did not believe that he was chosen by the Maker, and stuck to worshipping the Elven Gods.
He led the Inquisition into the battle, so the world would be saved from Corypheus and followers, which was victorious, as Corypheus was defeated. During Mahanon's quest, he fought to change Thedas for the better, especially Elves and Mages, as he was both.
While Inquisition was doing a good work, it would not last.
A few years after, the Inquisition faced a trouble, and Mahanon had to fight off the Qunari, while discovering that Solas was behind it all. Additionally, the Mark was killing the Elven Inquisitor, so, he had to have his arm and the mark removed, which meant that he lost the very thing that made him the Inquisitor, and the leader of the Inquisition.
He disbanded it, knowing that Solas would infiltrate it with his agents, and he gave an angry speech to them, that led with the book falling onto the floor, before he declared the Inqusition's disbandment, much to shock of many people.
Now, he, Lelianna, Cullen and Cassandra alongside were chasing Solas and his forces. They had to find people that he didn't know, and Mahanon swore that he would save Solas from himself, if he could.
Last he heard, his Clan was safe near Wycome, and that would be ensured by the reforms that Divine Victoria Leliana was spearheading to bring a change, so, there was peace between Elves and Humans alongside Mages and non Mage populations of Thedas in the Andrastian faith territory.
Many leads were fruitless, until the group heard of the cave, that was not discovered in Ferelden, a Cave, hidden in the forest. The cave, that was undiscovered by many people, or the Inquisition. And that a human explorer saw a huge amount of Elves going in there, after which they were never seen again.
He arrived at the cave, that Harding confirmed where Solas and many Elves were sighted. He followed the trail, while Hadring protected him from harm. She was his friend, and she would do her part in the discovery.
Fortunately, there was no danger. Whatever there was, it was cleared by the Elves that had departed to join the Dread Wolf. Eventually, they found something, that took them off guard.
An Eluvian, the one that was never seen before. Mahanon had no doubt that the Elves and Solas crossed it into the unknown direction.
He decided that he would investigate. While he missed the arm, he was still able to fight with his staff.
"Be careful," Harding said, as she embraced him.
"I will. If I do not return, I'll ensure that the staff and a note are sent back to here through the Eluvian. I will do everything to stop Solas, as the trail ends here. I do not know what will awaits me, but, I will be careful, as this will be the uncharted territory. May the Creators and Maker be with us all," he responded, as he let go of Harding.
"You too. I'll tell that you've gone through what is the last lead to Solas. Still, if you do come back, tell us what is on the other side."
"I will."
He then looked at her, and walked through the Eluvian into the unknown, with a small satchel tied to his staff, which had some stuff, but not before seeing that Harding followed him into the Eluvian, as she would follow her friend, wherever he went.
Mahanon Lavellan or Lace Harding would not be heard or seen, on Thedas at least, for many years.
