Rin helped Ness arrange the sheets and pillows to make a nest, a small, comfortable one. Reo continued to explain his analysis of what was happening with Nagi, and even though it didn't seem like it, the bulls were listening.

 

"Nagi loves you. I don't think he's trying to kill you," Rin said, looking at Reo as if he were an idiot. The younger boy couldn't understand how Reo couldn't see the lovelorn sheepish eyes Nagi was giving him.

 

"I agree with Rin. From what you've told me and what I've seen in their matches, the two of them love each other. They just don't know how to communicate." Ness finished arranging the last pillows for the nest and stared at the nest for a while, checking for anything missing.

Ness had never understood the importance of maintaining a legacy or "staining" your family by dating someone of your own sub-gender, but he understood that Japan is still one of the main countries where marriage between alphas or omegas is prohibited.

 

Japan was second only to a homophobic country. Gays weren't allowed to marry, and if an alpha and alpha couple were seen, the "submissive" alpha was considered a disgrace, humiliated, tortured, and ostracized. They were called "delta" to make it clear they weren't a "real" alpha, while the "dominant" alpha was looked at strangely, but nothing more happened. Some even admired the dominant alpha.

 

It was much worse if an alpha ended up pregnant or bitten, but that was rarely seen, mostly because they made sure to kill the "delta" for embarrassing the alphas.

 

On the other hand, omega and omega couples suffered harassment every day. The alphas tried to take advantage of the omegas by saying they "hadn't tried a good alpha" and were just going through a phase. The betas asked the omegas to kiss or touch them, sexualizing them for their fantasies.

 

At least the omega with the bite was spared harassment, but if it was discovered that their mate was an omega, they would end up raped and, unfortunately, even killed.

Rin looked at Reo as if he were stupid, then spoke without affection or compassion. "Bullshit, I know you. You fight for what you want and you get it, it's practically already in your grasp. The Reo I know would even go into politics to make marriage between alphas possible."

 

"Shut up, you can't even talk to Isagi or Bachira, and they're trying to start a conversation." Reo sat down to push Rin out of his seat, unable to stand the other alpha's rude behavior.

"Kaiser is an idiot," was the last thing Rin said before falling asleep in his friends' arms, surrendering to the warmth and pheromones.

 

"Motherfucker," Ness whispered, closing his eyes, holding back his urge to fight to defend his love.

 

Reo chuckled at the sound of the omega's voice, enjoying the fact that he wasn't the only one who suffered.

A large figure entered the room, watching the small flock without doing anything. He stood there, illuminated only by his cell phone; he didn't move an inch or speak.

 

The person stood admiring each one, not daring to get any closer, fearing that if he got too close, he might destroy the beautiful moment the three were having. After a few minutes, he moved to grab his cell phone and take a photo.

 

Then another.

 

And another.

 

And another one closer.

 

And another from a different angle.

 

And after so many photos, he decided the three were too asleep to notice, so he carefully approached the nest to take a photo where his face could be seen perfectly.

 

And finally, out of so many photos, he decided to take one last picture, one where the subject was just a single person.

 

Satisfied, he left the room, slowly closing the door so as not to alert anyone. He walked calmly with a goal in mind.

Mornings at Blue Lock weren't just horrible because they had to wake up early to get breakfast and go to the bathroom to avoid a bunch of people with so many pheromones. They were also horrible because there were no windows, so people like Rin and Reo, who woke up with the sun, had a hard time waking up.

 

The obvious solution was to set an alarm on their cell phones like Ness does, but he wasn't in his room.

 

So the three of them were still asleep when they should have been awake in their own bedrooms. Unfortunately, not a single soul had the decency to wake them up. What woke the three of them up was Ness's scream.

 

"What happened?" Reo said, crumbs in his eyes, trying to open them and not close them again.

 

Rin threw a pillow at Ness to snuggle back against Reo's body. In his mind, it was like three in the morning, and they had time to sleep.

 

"It's nine in the morning, idiot," Ness yelled, stumbling out of the nest.

Ness lifted his head, revealing his teary eyes, which turned to anger as he understood Rin's words. Because even if Kaiser treated him badly, he would still love him until he died. He didn't mind having to endure some harsh treatment just to be by Kaiser's side, the alpha who showed him that magic exists.

 

They don't know him like Ness does; they didn't see how the alpha struggled to get to where he is today. It wasn't them who protected Ness from the others; it was Kaiser who approached him without knowing him and chose him over others who were more experienced and far better than him.

 

Kaiser trusted him, let him hold him on days when he didn't even feel like getting up, let Ness see him naked and take care of him, let him cut something as intimate as his hair because he loves him. Kaiser doesn't see him as his pet; he sees him as his guardian.

 

"Hurt him and I'll kill you," the omega growled, baring his fangs without waiting for Rin to step out of the room. He wouldn't leave without hurting him at least a little.

 

Rin arched his back, feeling his inner alpha recognize the threat. His eyebrows furrowed, and he growled without baring his fangs. He didn't want to hurt his friend, but he also wouldn't let his friend hurt him for defending an idiot.

 

Reo didn't know what to do. He had to control his alpha so he wouldn't growl and defend his territory, while simultaneously controlling an omega and an alpha who were more than ready to come to blows over something he didn't even understand.

 

"I think we should focus more on the fact that we're running late," the purple-haired man said, pushing Ness by the chest with his hand while using his other arm to distance himself from Rin so he wouldn't get any closer to the omega.

 

Ness let Reo manipulate him, but he kept growling softly at Rin. The alpha didn't growl at the omega; he just released his dominant pheromones to try to subdue the omega.

 

Unfortunately, Ness was never the submissive omega. His weakness is being too stubborn; he doesn't know how to let go. He's the kind of man who persists until he gets what he wants.

 

"Guys, please. We're friends, a pack," Reo pleaded, feeling his heart beat rapidly from the stress. He inadvertently released his distressed pheromones, filling the room with stress, calming the others' growls.

 

Ness began to release her sweet pheromones to relieve Reo's scent, while Rin lowered her head in fury. He didn't understand why the omega was so defensive of that stupid alpha. Kaiser isn't a pack member.

 

He is his pack, not the stupid German.

 

He stormed out of the room. One way or another, he had to get back to training. He wasn't at Blue Lock to make friends; he was here to be the best striker. He's the best for a reason; he makes sure this kind of thing doesn't get in the way of his goal.

Chapter 9: Pheromones

Rin returned reeking of annoyance, but that wasn't the reason no one approached him. Shidou was more than prepared to mock and annoy the alpha, one of his favorite activities. Karasu wanted to know the gossip, as did Nanase, who was worried about her trainer. Charles was just there to watch the chaos; it had been a long time since something so interesting had happened.

 

No one could do anything, as Loki, with just one sentence, left them tense. With his lighthearted humor, many forgot that he was still an alpha and one of the most powerful. Not only because of his unique genetics, but also due to his exceptional strength, he dominates everyone effortlessly.

 

Not even Rin could challenge him; he could only lower his head and obey like a good soldier. As much as Rin wanted to go to his room and destroy everything, he had to do his duty first, soccer.

 

Loki led him to a more secluded spot, far from the others, so no one would hear or see them. He closed the door and sat down in his chair, letting out a sigh as if he'd been through a lot of trouble.

 

"Do you have an excuse?" the Frenchman asked, looking at the alpha with a raised eyebrow, though he didn't really care if there was an excuse. Especially when Rin arrived smelling of omega pheromones.

 

"I have no excuses; it was my fault." Rin didn't deign to look at the other; he didn't want to see his face.

 

"Hmm... So you can take your punishment without any complaints?" Loki tilted his head, searching the alpha's eyes, or so Rin thought.

 

"Yes," Rin replied in a deep voice, having to endure the humiliation. He hated Loki, but he couldn't deny that he was better than him and would have no problem dominating him.

 

Neither of them said anything for a while, both too lost in their own thoughts to speak or argue. Rin felt his chest heavy, probably from his fight with his pack, even though he would deny it a thousand times before admitting that it had hurt him. He wanted to cry when he saw that Ness preferred his alpha to him, to Reo.

 

"Run 10 more laps and stay with me tonight to analyze the matches," Loki suddenly said, breaking the silence in the room.

 

A pleasant silence, perhaps too pleasant.

 

Rin just nodded and left.

 

Instead, Loki stared at him for a while. His eyes said everything and at the same time nothing; only Charles, who had known him for a while, understood the alpha's game.

Reo stayed alone in his room. He took a shower to wash off all the pheromones and headed to the training room. Chris didn't scold him; he simply nodded when he saw him and began explaining what they were doing for the day, taking the opportunity to make another announcement.

 

The alpha headed to the machines to start his routine after warming up, but a hand stopped him. Confused, he turned to find Nagi, his forbidden love. The alpha didn't say anything, but Reo's heart was still beating like crazy, unable to control his feelings for Nagi.

 

"Are you okay?" Nagi asked softly, his sleepy face hiding the panic he felt inside at not knowing what to say to Reo. He felt stupid since it was more than obvious that Reo wasn't okay.

 

"I'm fine. Do you need help with anything?" Reo's question made Nagi feel a little bad. Reo was cutting the conversation off more and more quickly.

 

Nagi just wanted to kiss Reo. He wanted to say that he is his boyfriend and that with their love, they'll win the cup, but he hadn't been further from achieving that. At least now he had support that could save him; that didn't mean he didn't need to win.

 

"Yes, I need you to watch me while I lift weights," the alpha replied, still holding Reo's hand, enjoying the skin-to-skin contact. Reo had always had the softest skin.

 

"Oh, okay," Reo followed Nagi, still holding his hand.

 

The two supported each other through the exercises in an awkward and rigid atmosphere, but with each minute they grew accustomed to each other's presence. Remembering how close they had been before everything, their pheromones mingling.

 

Chigiri, in the distance, prayed to all the gods that Reo wouldn't assault his toothbrush again.

 

Chris considered collaborating with a gay campaign, and Agi was proud to see Nagi doing something for himself.

 

Ego barely woke up to look at the cameras, not expecting everything he would see. Anri had forced him to go to bed early, arguing that his dark circles were growing at an alarming rate.

Ness didn't even need to say anything to Noa, who knew better than anyone about his relationship with Kaiser. Ness still didn't know if Noa supported them or criticized them, but most likely, he didn't care much since Ness needed Kaiser to play with at the same time that Kaiser needed him.

 

No one scolded him; he just went straight to his alpha's room.

 

The members of Blue Lock looked at him curiously; they were surely nosy. His team, on the other hand, glared at Kaiser. They already knew the alpha wasn't the nicest person with his omega.

 

The omega lay down on Kaiser's giant bed, burying his head in his alpha's pillow to breathe in his pheromones. He closed his eyes to let them lull him into a relaxing state, feeling his inner omega purr at the taste of a treat.

 

Ness ended up falling into Morpheus's arms, resting after so much emotion.

 

He opened his eyes in fright as he felt someone's hand pulling his hair so hard it could have ripped it out. He didn't need to ask to know who it was. He already recognized the pain, the grip, and the hand.

 

"K-Kaiser," the omega whispered, tears welling in his eyes from the pain, feeling his inner omega scold him for making his alpha so angry.

 

"Shut up, stupid omega," the blond man said angrily, putting his entire body weight on the other's body, completely dominating him, leaving Ness defenseless. "First, I'm going to remind you who you belong to."

 

Ness just closed his eyes, mentally preparing himself for the pain, even though Kaiser's pheromones didn't let him breathe.

 

Kaiser opened his mouth as wide as possible, revealing his long fangs, and bit into Ness's shoulder, leaving a temporary mark to imprint his pheromones on Ness like a mate. After the bite, he released him to lick the blood, enjoying the metallic taste.

 

Instead of feeling fear, Ness felt his cheeks flush. "Micha, I'm sorry, I promise I'm only yours," he murmured as he turned to wrap his arms around Michael's shoulders, letting their pheromones mingle.

 

Kaiser licked his lips at the sight of his omega's wide eyes. "God, what a whore" he said, even though he's the one who always asks Ness for affection (never literally, Kaiser wouldn't stoop that low. Ness knew he needed him like a good dog; he didn't need orders).

 

"I'm not a whore," Ness complained, sucking on his alpha's neck, marking him as his own, trying to ignore the pain of Kaiser's other bite and the alpha's overly tight grip.

 

Ego, who was barely looking at yesterday's cameras, already felt a headache. He hadn't expected Rin to be so sentimental.

On the other hand, a beta on the same team was learning that the alpha he was courting had arrived reeking of one omega's pheromones and ended up dating another. This caused the alpha to feel a different hunger, a possessiveness he didn't know he possessed.

Chapter 10

Manshine City had already suffered two losses, making the Blue Lock members nervous.

 

Nagi was already talking to Reo and even asked for his help, but not in the way Reo expected. They didn't return to their old ways, even if they lost again. At least Nagi had scored two goals and Chigiri one, all three with Reo's assist.

 

Reo noticed Nagi was more awkward, not just because of his unusual way of playing. The alpha was acting more relaxed than usual; he knew Nagi was a pacifist, but now he was almost submissive. Nagi would seek him out to eat by his side, not only combining their pheromones but also freeing his neck, causing him to spit out the food due to Nagi's attitude.

 

The alpha was practically telling him to open his legs. Well, that's what people would think. And Japan is not at all in favor of alpha/alpha relationships.

 

Reo didn't think they could win against Ubers, not when they had an excellent defense and Snuffy as their coach.

 

"Reo, I want a reward if we win," Nagi whispered beside him, his lips brushing his ear.

 

The alpha turned around, his face red, even more so when he saw Nagi leaning in a little, further highlighting his muscular chest. Reo just wanted to bury his face between them; they were surely super comfortable, and Nagi wouldn't be bothered because he loves to sleep.

 

"Sure. What do you want?" Reo stuttered, looking into Nagi's dark eyes.

 

"If I win, I'll tell you," Nagi replied, grabbing his hand and walking.

 

The cameras made sure to focus on their clasped hands, watching how each of them played, how Nagi repeatedly lost against the defense until Lorenzo spoke out loud. Nagi had never felt so eager to show his courage. He tiredly fought for the ball and scored the second goal.

 

Reo scored the third with help from Nagi, marking their victory.

 

Reo couldn't contain his joy and threw himself onto Nagi's back. The entire team cheered for their first victory, delighted to achieve the impossible.

Chris gave them alcohol to celebrate their victory. No one knew how he'd managed to sneak in alcohol with Ego's extreme vigilance, but no one complained. Not when they could eat well and drink alcohol without getting into trouble.

 

Reo had already downed two bottles due to nerves, ending up with a slightly foggy mind. Now, instead of being afraid to talk to Nagi, he felt he deserved more, much more. Chigiri watched over him for a while until Chris grabbed him by the shoulders so he'd drink beer instead of just water.

 

Reo went to Nagi's room. The alpha had immediately escaped, so he wouldn't have to deal with drunks and so much noise. The white-haired alpha just wanted to sleep; he'd never tried so hard to win in his life. At least he could fulfill his plan.

 

What he didn't expect was for a drunk Reo to enter his room.

 

"Nagiiiii, I miss you," he stammered, throwing himself onto Nagi's bed and taking the opportunity to bury his head in the alpha's chest.

 

Nagi could only blink, not knowing what to do; his family didn't get drunk. He hated the bitter taste, and Reo supposedly didn't drink alcohol.

 

"Don't you miss me?" Reo asked, his eyes watering, ready to cry. Nagi opened his eyes, surprised by the alpha's quick mood swing.

 

"I always miss you when you're not by my side, Reo," Nagi confessed, feeling his face burn. He hadn't thought he was going to confess like this. It had been agreed that he should propose to Reo over a romantic dinner; his father had asked him to at least do it the right way.

 

But Reo's father had already given him vitamins for that.

 

"Nagi, you're my treasure," Reo said, snuggling up against Nagi's body.

 

"Reo..." Nagi whispered, his cheeks flushed. Reo had just confessed to him! "You are my light," he said, hugging the alpha, letting his pheromones flow as he leaned his head, freeing his neck.

 

Reo, drunk, nibbled at his neck, leaving a temporary mark.

 

Nagi slept with a smile; he had a boyfriend now. Maybe alcohol isn't so bad.
