Chapter Text
Sirius was dead.
Bellatrix had killed him, she killed him.
She was dead to him.
He was going to kill her.
“SHE KILLED SIRIUS!” bellowed Harry. “SHE KILLED HIM — I’LL KILL HER!” As he followed her the world around him felt numb, nothing mattered and he followed the ends of her robes he could see.
As she threw a curse behind her back Harry dodged vaguely noting the tank that almost dumped onto him. Running faster to follow behind her quickly retreating form. As he moved he heard words but it didn’t matter, she was getting away and he couldn’t lose her and as he watched her close the door behind her he quickly dashed to open it behind her, grabbing the handle as the room started to spin, his hand still attached to the door’s handle.
When it finally stopped Harry paused. Dizziness overtaking his senses he took a breath moving his hand from the handle and sitting on the ground to hopefully stop the world from spinning around him.
Standing upright Harry grabbed at what he thought was the door Bellatrix entered through walking in the world still spinning slightly around him. As the world slowly returned to rights Harry found himself in an almost empty room, the walls were the same glossy black the hall was. In the center there was a large glass box filled with golden sand. But there was no Bellatrix.
He had lost her.
Harry whirled around to go back to the hall, maybe he could get to her if he was quick enough but the door was closed. And the door was gone. The room had no exit anymore.
Fuck.
If Harry thought it couldn’t get any worse he was wrong because the room started to spin around him and the box of golden sand in the middle had opened. The potter luck really did know how to screw him over sometimes.
Dizziness set in once more his vision filled with gold and black dots starting to appear before taking over all of his line of sight. All he thought as he felt his body crash to the ground was that his luck was right shite sometimes.
When Harry came too he wasn’t sure what exactly he was expecting, maybe he was expecting to not wake up at all. Considering his luck dying because he went into the wrong room instead of while doing something worthwhile seems pretty likely. Although he did have an odd, defying death thing. Regardless, Harry didn’t exactly expect to find himself alone, in the same room, the odd box with golden sand seeming the same as when he arrived in the room, and the door he swears had disappeared wide open.
Maybe he had hallucinated the whole thing.
With a groan Harry stood up rubbing his head, he definitely passed out though, he could almost feel the bruise on his head forming. Fuck, his friends, they were still injured and the Death Eaters, and the prophecy! It had smashed but the death eaters didn’t know that, and Sirius. Harry paused. Sirius was dead, he was dead, Bellatrix had killed him and he couldn’t… Harry took a deep breath, it wasn’t the time, he had to make sure his friends were okay and get out of there, now. With the fact that he passed out hopefully they got out or the Death Eaters retreated or something, but there was only one true way to find out.
As Harry walked out the door it slammed behind him causing Harry to whirl around just for the walls to start spinning again only the flashing blue of the torch on the wall to show what was left. Harry did notice the lack of red, Hermione’s spell must have faded, he was too absorbed in the chase when he was following Bellatrix but hopefully that didn’t mean anything. He needed to find his friends and fast. He looked at the doors hesitantly approaching one when the door he was planning to go in opened and someone in a long black robe walked into the center. Their robes cover the face and in an instant Harry went for his wand.
The likely Death Eater paused, not making any moves while looking in Harry’s direction.
“Oh my, well you’re not supposed to be here.”
Harry paused the spell at the tip of his tongue fizzling out of his mind, what was that supposed to mean? Actually now that Harry looked at the man? He wasn’t sure but the voice sounded like a mans, his robes didn’t look anything like Death Eater robes, well besides the color scheme. It was an odd mix of a lab coat and a cloak, the hood obscuring more than Harry thought it should. It was pretty dark though, hard to see. But his words caught him off guard. Was this a ministry official of some sort, how long was Harry passed out for?
Lost in thought Harry almost didn’t notice the man slowly approaching him. But it quickly put him back on guard wand at the ready once more.
“Stay Back!” Harry spoke loud and clear pointing his wand at him. The man sighed, holding his arms up.
“I really don’t mean any harm, say, how did you get in here. The wards didn’t trip and you certainly aren’t meant to be here.”
Harry paused but kept his wand ready. What was he even supposed to do? The ministry already had it out for him and he wasn’t supposed to be here, plus he and his friends made a massive mess all throughout the department of mysteries. If the Death Eaters and his friends were gone it was just him and him being at the ministry like this really definitely would get him expelled, maybe even arrested.
“I…” Harry trailed off as he spoke. There really truly was no justification he could make, he had to leave, and fast. As he looked for exits no longer fully focused on the wizard in front of him he didn’t notice as his wand flew to his hands. When Harry refocused his wand was in the hands of this man. He was beyond screwed. The man lowered his hands and walked closer once more.
“Now that that’s out of the way, why don’t you come with me hm? I think we have some things to go over.” Harry frowned.
“Why the hell would I go with you!” He said eyes darting around at all the identical doors. “For all I know you’re planning to kill me or something!” Harry figured at this rate anywhere but here is a better idea and went to lunge for another door when he stood frozen. Whoever this was was strong because no spell was uttered.
“I suppose we're doing this the hard way then.” The man said, waving his wand making Harry float behind him.
