Chapter 1: I love you (Je'taime)
Chapter Text
Adrien wasn't used to this. He knew that much. Plagg wasn't surprised, but the tiny cat-like god-thing was asleep right now while Adrien was being embraced by his new boyfriends. Having one boyfriend would've been more than enough to infuriate Father if he was to ever discover that his treasured son was in a relationship that he had never arranged for him. Finding his son with six boyfriends sharing his too small bed was probably much worse.
It was Zak who started this polycule, beginning with Ben before both began to share Rex between themselves, but then they got Danny and Randy and Jake involved, and they wanted Adrien to be with the six of them to make six into seven. Dragons were beings that were built to hoard things they loved for the purpose of nesting. As Kur, long before he was Zak, was the first Dragon as well as being a conquering warlord at the time of Sumer's growth, it made sense that trophies of war would include myriad lovers to create the first Cryptids with and for those offspring to be fruitful and have the chance to multiply. Dragons in the modern era were known to have slowed down on their hoarding by now, but they still held onto their habit of gathering several mates, with Jake being no exception to that primal urge. For Jake, Danny was his first boyfriend followed by Randy, while Adrien jointly became the third boyfriend shared between the two Dragons as they gathered their collection.
Whatever the story was before the six of them decided to have Adrien become their seventh was lost in translation as Adrien's native French wasn't always easy for his new lovers to comprehend without the need for language lessons. With this late night of forbidden lovemaking, there was little to no need for words as Adrien was embraced by all six tongues licking his body. They all were giving him a form of love that he had never known before this. Randy was kissing his back while Rex was kissing his chest. Ben was biting his forearms as Danny was suckling on his toes. Jake was gently combing his claws through his golden hair and kissing his neck all the while Zak was in the middle of giving him a blowjob. Adrien had never felt such embraces before and was almost begging all of his lovers to be inside of him despite his lack of a uterus for any of them to enter and knowing that there was still a language barrier in place until further notice.
A few hours of this hypnotic embrace later and Adrien was over the moon as he felt the little death overcome him as his lovers concluded and compared notes in English before Adrien was allowed to be given a proper translation into French.
"Do you want to keep us as yours, Adrien? You know that you can't turn back after this if you chose to be our seventh." Danny asked in choppy but comprehensive French as he quietly warned Adrien of the raw might of their combined powers as the Phantom King's eyes briefly flashed their usual ectoplasmic green glow.
Adrien was fully aware of what he was getting into as he thought through this now realized idea of polyamory between himself and his boyfriends. There were a number of factors to consider, ranging from school and his modeling work to Shadow Moth's terrorism and Ladybug's uncomfortable habits of hiding things from Chat Noir on the battlefield that was the City of Love, in addition to the usual issues that came with long distance relationships in general. Adrien was starting to think that his pining for Ladybug was starting to go nowhere, and while he was gaining a close friendship with Marinette as both Adrien and as Chat Noir depending on the situation, so why not just go ahead and embrace having six boyfriends instead of getting his hopes up with his superhero partner who was clearly too busy being Guardian to care about him anymore?
"Yes. I want to love all of you. For all I know, there might never be a time to confess to Ladybug, but with all of you, it somehow makes sense. I don't know how to explain this affection in a language familiar to any of you beyond my own, but if you'll all allow it, then yes, I want to become yours for all of you." Adrien answered in his mother lounge as his lovers all gained looks of mixed concern and surprise. They all had many good reasons to be worried for their new seventh, too many of which to discuss here and now, but the collective tears of joy in their eyes overwrote such fears as they all hugged Adrien much to his surprise.
Chapter 2: Dragons and their hoards
Notes:
Ah, now what's this? A second chapter for something I'm writing on a whim without a hiatus to put it in a newly made Doc in one sitting? Yes, that's exactly what this is.

Chapter Text
Dragons were known to be very precise in their greed as they gathered their carefully curated hordes of their own personal treasures.
Kur was often one who collected the bones of the warlords and soldiers that he and his own would slaughter on the battlefield but was equally known to kindly treat the innocents and enslaved to his side by granting them high honors among his courts and the liberation involved in such political stagecraft. He may have been a warlord and conqueror, but Kur's own records of himself revealed a deeply caring side to him that had gotten lost over the millennia as his quite invigorating passion for war and combat had tainted his compassionate and deeply kind heart. The ruins of the realms he had taken over revealed even more of his kindness as each city under his name had been surprisingly modern in terms of public health and safety, with signs of regular wear and tear alongside various public spaces that seemed to have had been reserved for those with some form of physical disabilities being the most well preserved, alongside some sorts of apothecary market of some form as well as regularly maintained sewers and public baths not unlike those of the Roman Empire. In all fairness, it wasn't too unexpected for an emperor to have at least some love for his peoples, but the Saturdays hadn't expected such anachronisms in their latest discoveries in researching Kur by asking for the Dragon Council's reports of their ancestor and his legacy from the perspective of Kur's own words as he carved his legacy long before he created the Kur Stone.
The Ghost Zone and the now long deceased peoples who had been Kur's citizens all those years ago equally surprised the Saturdays and the Fentons and the Dragon Council by having only positive things to say regarding Kur from before he had passed away the first time and their upset upon learning of his death. They all remembered that there would be big festivals for religious and cultural events, which was expected for the celebrations of Sumerian civilization during their time period, but when Kur and his armies would officially assimilate a new region into his territory, the celebrations that followed were often ones meant to honor Kur himself as the Dragon Emperor would gain not only new lands to rule over, but several new spouses as well.
When Zak laid his eyes and recognized the specters of his previous lovers, he wasn't sure how to feel, let alone know what words to find as he remembered their faces and recalled their names. Thier names that would become remembered as the names of the underworld that was later known as Kur to the Mesopotamians over the next several thousand or so years later. His beloveds from long ago were his War-Consorts Ereshkigal, Nergal, Ershetu, Abzu, Neti, Namtar, Gugalanna and Lamashtu. The fact that he remembered them after all this time overwhelmed Zak as he quickly began to feel as if he was fainting from the shock of his discoveries as he did exactly that as he fell into his current lovers' arms, frightening his previous spouses and giving two of his current lovers quite the surprise.
Notes:
More worldbuilding than I thought there'd be. Eh, it works. The names of Kur's "War-Consorts"/spouses are based off of Sumerian underworld mythology. Since Kur's name references that culture's underworld, it makes sense for Kur to sort of become something like how Hades or Hel from Greco-Roman and Norse myths respectively both the names of underworlds in addition to also being the rulers of the dead who enter their domains, since syncretism is fun like that.
Chapter 3: It was unplanned
Chapter Text
It was unplanned. The three of them all knew that their pregnancies were unplanned. Randy was the first of them to learn of the child inside his womb. It was Rex's baby, since they were bonding over their shared worries regarding their memories of their love, but creating a child was unexpected. Howard was both greatly shocked and highly supportive of his best friend, but pointed out the whole mind wipe at graduation thing, bringing up the problem of how exactly was Randy supposed to raise his child with no memory of the baby's other father.
Randy told his lovers after he told his mothers that he wanted to keep the baby. They were furious at their son's lack of responsibility regarding birth control, but they understood where he was coming from once he told them that he was willing to take responsibility for his actions as he argued with them and begged them to let him have their grandchild. To his surprise, he was going to be able to get help with the baby, but with the catch that he would be given the option to have the little one be adopted. Given who the other father of his child was, Randy was entirely against giving up his child for adoption, making the disagreements between himself and his parents worse and his mood swings weren't helping.
Ben was the second one of them to learn about his pregnancy as he remembered his pickle cravings and figured out that he was carrying Zak's children. Unplanned, just like with Randy, but he had more than one child inside his belly according to Gwen when she scanned him. It was a set of triplets and he told his lovers a day later. The shared shock of the discovery was followed by Randy's own announcement, much to Ben's excitement. The excitement followed up with Danny's announcement of his own pregnancy, the Halfa revealing the gestation of his and Jake's offspring, much to the Dragon's further shock and surprise.
Gwen was asked to scan Danny and Randy to learn about their children and she told them to prepare for triplets as well, surprised by the news and the bizarre coincidence of the fact that they were collectively now expecting nine children in total. There was a lot of various emotions on all sides as the six soon to be fathers realized that they now had to inform Adrien about their babies without infuriating his horrible father.
Chapter 4: The Cat and the Fox
Chapter Text
Adrien was a few time zones and a language barrier behind the news shared by his lovers, and he was entirely unaware of the unborn nine children that three of his lovers were pregnant with, as he was busy with the coldness of his father's usual neglect. He was too far away from his lovers whom he was keeping his relationships within the closet for fear of myriad bigots of various sorts who would want to hurt them for being in a seven-person polycule. For most closeted people, keeping their real self behind closed doors could be easy, but regardless of homelands there was a clear danger in hiding.
Adrien was familiar with hiding his real self anyways. Being Chat Noir was his freedom. Ladybug was his partner, but she was too busy being Guardian to bother with him anymore, and Chat Noir quit flirting as his lady began to trust Rena Rouge with her secrets more so than she ever really trusted him from the start. As much as Chat Noir adored his lady, even being willing to die for her whenever possible, there were only so many chances for him to say that he could remain passionate. Outsiders often said that French was the language of love, but for a Frenchman, his mother tongue was a cold and bitter taste.
Then Lila showed her filthy face and spoke with her dirty mouth thinking that she was God because she was a very skilled storyteller. If Ben's stories about multiversal dimensions and time travel future self-shifts were true, then maybe in another life, Adrien would know Lila better as a professional writer or actress or something and she'd be busy telling her stories to get everything she wanted without the "hurting other people" aspect of her disgusting soul. He could easily see Lila being incredible in the entertainment industry, given how cutthroat it was and how easy it would be for her to grip it by the neck and lynch it with a noose. Lila being a professional storyteller was the safer option, as Adrien would often have memories of nightmares where she entered politics instead, which often in his dreams led to her becoming the second Mussolini instead as she led an Italian invasion into France and would often kickstart World War Three. Those nightmares never ended well as anyone familiar with the history of Fascist Italy would tell you.
"What do you want this time, Volpina?" Adrien asked as he weaponized Lila's favorite Akumatized form. He knew how foolish it was to call her Cameleon. Calling her by that name tasted too salty for his mouth to handle. Salt was a good spice, but it was well known that having too much of it could easily dehydrate you to death.
"Just wanted to ask a small question. Is that such a bad thing?" Lila replied in her signature overly sugary tone of admittedly quite impressively fluid French. Her natural accent was impossible to hide no matter how cunning she was with words. Adrien wondered if Lila was a Siren of some sort and thought about asking Jake regarding that idea. He rejected the idea of Lila being born from Melusine in its entirety. He'd rather fight a Gargoyle instead of having this conversation right now in all honesty.
"Make it quick. I've got a fencing technique to practice and I'd rather not be late."
Lila glanced at the clock and checked her watch to make sure of the time. The look of her surprise was genuine it seemed.
Chapter 5: I have no idea what love is even like (Is it something you give or is it something you find?)
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Lila followed him into the library as Adrien took quiet notice of her. A fox stalking her prey. Unlike his secret knowledge of Marinette's stalking of him, Lila's take on the same skill in pursuing her hunting of his heart had no passion behind it. Lila was dangerous, while Marinette was easier to play with. Marinette was, to his own surprise, at the very least entertaining and fun to be around. Lila was not. Adrien could have a little bit of fun with his realizations of Marinette's limerence/obsession for his heart. She wasn't violet as far as Adrien knew. Marinette was harmless in her lust for him. A preferable form of yandere if he was comparing her to anything else. At best, Marinette was a far less bloody Yuno from "Future Diary" in her passion for him.
Lila was the opposite. She was clearly a gold digger and was probably much more interested in his money than she was for his heart. At least, Adrien hoped that Lila was just a gold digger and a really skilled storyteller, despite the whole nightmare that was the Chameleon situation and the salinity of hatred in his soul that followed. Lila was pure salt without any drink of water, while Mari was fresh baked bread drizzled with a soft dressing of honey.
"What is it that you want, Volpina?" Adrien spat as Lila sat down next to him as he opened up a history book about the French Revolution, the Reign of Terror and the Napoleonic Empire and the events that led to them. He had been using "Volpina" to address her for the past five weeks as his own way of beheading her without the use of the Timbers of Justice. What better way to shut her up than to use the best thing about her that everyone else knew of that was the truth?
Lila glared at him as she muttered something in her mother language of Italian, possibly some sort of profanity, and switched back to French to communicate with him again.
"I just wanted you to know that I've been learning about you, since we're co-workers thanks to Signore Agreste, and don't think that I don't know about your filthy little lies to him, Adri." Lila stated with her signature shit eating grin on her face. Adrien dropped his book and lost his page as several thoughts raced through his head about what she was referring to.
Was she referring to his secret identity as Chat Noir or was she referring to his lovers. He was too careful to reveal any connection regarding the former, but regarding the latter, there were other factors to take into account. With being Chat Noir, the only thing he worried about was careful timing and making sure he and Plagg were unnoticed. Regarding his lovers, they all had different events to concern themselves with in addition to finding time for each other and for their seventh. Given that they had just told him about their children's upcoming arrival, all nine of whom Adrien declared to be his godchildren/niblings (despite the fact that none of them had been born yet), the blond had many good reasons to worry. If Lila was referring to both his Miraculous and the polycule he was in, then that just made his concerns far worse if she was planning to steal the ring and Cataclysm all of them without hesitation or mercy. He loved being Chat Noir and he adored his boyfriends with all his heart. Choosing to sacrifice himself would always be his first choice if it came down to it.
"What lies to my father are you talking about?"
A dangerous response. Right words but the wrong usage of such weaponry.
"The lies about-" Lila began to reply as the Akuma Alarms went off and disrupted her concentration.
Notes:
I think I'm using salt as a weird motif here, aren't I? Eh, might as well make a "spice cabinet fic" later this year when I'm done with "Amnesiac Resurrection" and "A Sadness Runs Through Him" and start looking up random spices used in French cooking.
Little cultural detail for this chapter: If you know anything about the guillotine, one of the several nicknames I found for it while I was writing this chapter was the "Timbers of Justice" and it stuck with me. A few other pet names for the weapon I found were could be translated as "The National Razor", "The Regretful Climb", "The Silence Mill", "The Fanlight" (for some reason) and my personal favorite one, "The Half-Moon" from the original French.
Also, I have no idea what "nibling" is in French because of how grammatical genders work in Romance languages and despite my understanding of Spanish, I cannot understand French. I also forgot some Spanish because of a lack of practice and I might need to start listening to more Spanish language musicians. Anybody got any recommendations?
Chapter 6: Visions, both good and bad
Chapter Text
Sara and Kara were invited by Jake to view for any disasters and good fortunes for the children of him and his lovers. Disturbingly, Sara's visions arrived first, revealing a fate involving Adrien being linked to the act of poisoning. Kara stated that the poisoning wasn't going to be Adrien's fault. Sara later stated that there were going to be six voices crying out in pain and rage. Kara stated something about a pair of scales being destroyed by their own overwhelming weight, though what that had to do with Adrien somehow being innocent in his eventual act of some form of indirect poisoning, Jake couldn't quite think of how that was related to their lovers.
The prophecies ended up coming true as the next day that followed the prediction, Danny, Randy and Ben all received a vial of some sort of beverage that swiftly caused the three of them to become violently ill. The boxes containing the liquids wasn't written in the usual French like the rest of Adrien's notes. Instead, the writing was in far too fluent English for someone still learning the language to be in Adrien's handwriting. In fact, upon comparison between Adrien's letters and the notes of the vials, the hands were confirmed have been different writers.
Kara was right about Adrien being innocent, but the second half of Sara's vision came true in the most painful way possible when Gwen as asked by her cousin to mana scan the little ones, only to discover that all nine of them were gone. Whatever was in those vials was some sort of abortive substance had induced a miscarriage for all three of them, much to their grief and rage, all of them furious beyond words. Adrien had poisoned Ben, Randy and Danny, and now he was going to suffer a world of hurt because of his actions.
Adrien was asleep in his bed when he heard fire alarms blaring in the middle of the night. Then the news started talking about a Dragon flying through French airspace crying out enraged. Agreste Mansion was swiftly broken into by, of all people, his lovers. Adrien was jolted awake instantly, as it wasn't exactly every day your lovers were going to crash through your house.
All Adrien knew was that all six of his boyfriends were all on the edge of killing somebody in pure vengeance and didn't care about the consequences of such a crime. Jake lunged at Adrien and pinned him against the wall by the neck with his claws.
"What... is... happening?" Adrien whispered out as he now found himself being choked by his boyfriend for reasons that he didn't know about. He knew nothing of the vials of poison. He was too panicked to switch languages.
"Why did you give us a poison?!" Jake yelled out as Zak gestured for him to let go of their seventh. Jake allowed Adrien to speak (and breathe) much more clearly as he left behind claw marks around the blond lad's neck.
"Poison? What poison are you talking about, Jacob? What's going on?"
Before any of his lovers could explain, Mr. Agreste's voice broke the focus, as he was understandably very freaked out by six strangers suddenly at his now very destroyed front door in the middle of attacking his son.
"WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS GOING ON?!" Gabirel screamed out in his shock of the sight.
Chapter 7: hurry up and save me
Chapter Text
They had all entered what could best be described as a very deep depression once their anger faded out. Plagg noticed Adrien's upset as his current Miraculous Holder was based in self-blaming. Chat Noir became disturbingly quiet as he patrolled Paris as his lovers began suddenly stop communicating with him and he refused to explain to Ladybug and her team as to why the sudden a Dragon "EVO" was at his house. The public was told that Jake was simply a tourist who went EVO and somehow the lie worked. Adrien hated having to lie about any of his lovers, but he needed a safe cover that could be plausible. The Nanite Event sure as hell certainly helped magical beings get away with some details, but not exactly others, if Providence's formerly frequent usage of incinerators was anything to go on.
The lack of eating, despite being a model who obviously require a healthy body for the nature of the job by law, was taking a clear toll on Adrien as he refused to eat anything at all as his way of punishing himself for having indirectly poisoned half his lovers and ended up with a kill count of nine innocent children in the process. It was reasonable that all six of his lovers would enter the depression they were all in. He didn't blame them for their upset at his actions, even though he had no ill desire to harm any of them, which was why he began to investigate on his own as to who and why there was poisons involved in his love life at all.
So far, he knew that Lila had discovered something about him that he was hiding from the public, but he didn't know what it was. From that, Adrien had no other clues but knew the perfect person who could help.
"You want Marinette to do what now?" Alya asked in confusion as Adrien had just asked for her best friend to basically stalk Lila in exchange for arts and crafts money.
"Let me repeat myself: I need Mari's obsessiveness and hatred of Lila to save me from the rage of several gods in mourning before they all rip me to pieces because they all think that I killed their unborn babies through poisoning and I need to know what the poison was and if Lila really went as far as to kill nine infants." Adrien explained as best as he could as he gave Alya the same vial and note that Jake threw at his face before he and their lovers flew back home.
Alya recognized the handwriting instantly as she knew it indeed be none other than Lila's hand, but why would she poison nine unborn babies? What kind of monster would even do something like that?! Maybe Lila was just aiming for the parents instead of the children? It was possible that she wasn't aware of the unborn ones when she poisoned the gods, but why poison gods to begin with? Now was a good time as any to practice some old-fashioned investigative journalism from the looks of it.
"Adrien is wanting me to spy on Lila to avenge nine babies who were aborted via poisoning?" Marinette repeated as she processed exactly what she had just learned from Alya.
Mari knew that Lila could go to extremes, but this was just insane, even for Lila. Marinette could understand the "how" of Lila could easily frame Adrien for poisoning his international friends, but what is the motive for the "why" behind such a disgusting and disturbing action? Why in the hell would Lila even want to do such a crime?
"Consider it done."
Chapter 8: Roses for a Dragon
Notes:
Good news is that I have actually prewritten this chapter and the bad news is that I only have two more chapters.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Jake refused to leave his room as five out of six of his lovers had all failed to find ways to break down the door. The room was frozen shut to them. They all knew that Jake had a relationship with a girl named Rose Hunter, but other than her name, they knew nothing else about her. Jake refused to talk about Rose, and for good reason, considering that as far as anyone else knew, Rose Hunter had no history related to Dragons and she herself had no memory of anyone by the name of Jacob Long at any point in her life. Of course, that was only because instead of in another world where Jake desired to have Rose never be stolen by the Huntsclan at birth, he instead wished for the Huntsclan to never have existed at all on his eighth-grade homecoming night. He had altered history to spare the world from the Huntsclan. He didn’t think that it would change his relationship with Rose.
Finding love for a second time after the chaos of history being restructured was harder to take in as Danny got involved under Clockwork’s orders as part of his job as Ghost King. Falling in love with Danny was somehow natural to both of them with Danny's side of things being linked to a failed love life with his best friend Sam, with whom he tried to date but it didn’t go any further than just their usual close friendship. It honestly reminded Jake of Spud and Trixie’s whole deal in a hilarious sense of coincidence and weird irony. It became an inside joke between themselves. Their first kiss was the shared confirmation that they had both fallen in love with each other.
It became natural afterwards that they introduced their love to their families, save for some secrets being hidden, although thankfully not because of their romanticism. As for how Randy, Zak, Rex and Ben all got involved, well to make a long story short, a Tengu fighting a cursed Kraken from the Anur System in the middle of a lake was bound to catch a great deal of attention from local law enforcement and a ton of angry spirits being pissed off by an unfamiliar creature in their territory. That was when Zak and his family showed up alongside Rex and Ben’s respective forces. As for the love story that followed, well, that was another long story.
Returning to the present, Danny phased through Jake’s bedroom door, since the Dragon obviously couldn’t do anything against intangibility, and the half-ghost noticed the roses that Jake had hoarded over the entirety that he had known him had completely frozen over and had unsurprisingly died from the cold weather in the room. The weather in the room completely contradicted the warmth outside throughout the rest of New York City. Of course, anyone familiar with how eastern dragons were linked to rain and lightning and snowstorms and the like wouldn’t be surprised at all by Jake having inherited such abilities to control the sky, even if he preferred to utilize his flames instead.
“Your flowers are all dead, Jacob.” Danny pointed out as he observed his lover’s pain. His breath could be seen as his Ghost Sense was disguised and hidden as he saw nine little blobs of color changing ectoplasm with eye and mouth-like structures for faces floating around Jake’s body. These nine little souls had never lived, hence why they were shapeless, but it was clear that their instinct driven minds were drawn to Jake, with three of them especially being quite fond of getting his attention. It didn’t take much guesswork to figure out the origins of these nine little specters.
Notes:
I don't think I need to explain how and why Jake has weather control powers. It's a normal thing for eastern versions of dragons to have weather control powers, often being linked to rain and good harvests, so it was reasonable to give that to Jake for obvious reasons. His hoarding of roses was inspired by the whole rose-themed clothing thing that I saw kept being a motif for my classmates during my later high school years, and yes, he has a lot of rose-themed clothes as a consequence of that out of universe, since y'all already know the in-universe reasons why.
