Chapter Text
Please read this author’s note before continuing with the story.
I started writing as young as 5. My first proper work in progress novel was an unfinished badly written novel about two teenagers who find themselves in a land called Chocolate Chunks. I wrote dozens of short stories, poems, and even won a prize for an alternate ending fairy-tale when I was twelve. My love for writing and reading slowly evolved into gothic, sci-fi, crime and punishment. The power imbalance in these stories and the dark, broken and beautiful characters in the novels I read had me enthralled. Whether it was Wuthering Heights or Harry Potter, Jamaica Inn or the Sookie Stackhouse novels I wanted to immerse myself fully into these fantasy make-believe worlds. Maybe I was trying to escape my own? Anyway. Then I discovered Ao3. And my life changed. For over a decade I’ve written on this platform, made pen-pals and exchanged long beautiful comments and stories with like-minded people. I found my community. My most recent haunts being – as demonstrated by my bookmarks – slave fiction, horror, crime and a deep delve into servitude. I wanted to write my own beautiful epic saga but I struggled with time, writer’s block and importantly my creative juices just wouldn’t run. I had this seed of an idea that eventually led to this story for years. Literally years. Growing in different ways , expressing through other writing and stories. Yet I couldn’t find the way to write my own epic novel. And one day whilst I was doing the job that actually pays my bills I was using an Open AI tool to help me summarise and deepen my understanding of modern day research into the topic I was writing on. A formal , professional document. The ease with which I was able to do my work was astounding. A small idea came to me…what if I worked and collaborated with this Open AI to create my epic novel. I used character descriptions, dialogues, my vision and my plot points. Painstakingly I worked to create what I personally think is one of the best things I’ve ever written. Yes I had a helping hand. And yes AI can be scary. But when you’re creating and learning and exploring I think we can all agree the sky is your limit. I love the story that has been created and I hope you’ll give it a chance. Technology isn’t our enemy but a tool we can use to make humanity and our experience of life even better. Please note: I own nothing. Just my opinions, thoughts and love for Supernatural and the family it and this archive have given me.
