exceptional. if there was one word to describe Kongo Agon it would be exceptional.
A third-year star athlete and two time sports festival winner at UA's general education course with a fast reaction quirk. The average person can physically react to a visual after 0.25 seconds with it going up to 0.19 seconds after training. however from a young age Agon has had a reaction time of 0.11 seconds fast enough to be mistaken for a quirk. That's right Agon is in fact quirkless, when he was four he was playing zombie tag when he was the last one left and was able to dodge twenty students all constantly rushing him when the teacher saw this as so unlikely and his reactions could no longer be waved away as being in the right spot to catch stuff quickly that Agons quirk must have come in. diagnosed as having a reaction quirk as the internal biases of the doctor prevented him from even considering that a quirkless fossil could have such fast reflexes as to dodge twenty of his fellow schoolmates charging him from all directions that he failed to check if he had the second pinky joint or not but it turned out he did.
Agon realised he was quirkless about two months after he was registered as having the quirk "Super-Speed impulse" was when him and his family went shoe shopping and no shoes fit his toes right so his parents offered him a pair of shoes marketed as for wide feet they were bright red high tops that Agon thought were hideous but they were the only shoes that fit his toes correctly, and so Agon exited the shop with a pair of "Primordial" brand shoes. however later that night Agon was searching to see if the company sold any shoes that would fit him but looked good he learned that all styles of shoe that if they were in the size extra wide they would only be in that bright red. agon also used the chance to learn about the company that made the shoes.
Legacy is a apparel chain that specializes in mutation quirk apparel like shoes for people with bird mutations and have talons instead of toes. the company logo is of three footprints one barefoot, one with a shoeprint and one that can be best described as a duck foot said to symbolize the evolution of clothing after the emergence of quirks. Agon would notice that the product description of the primordial line of shoes had a much smaller description than the other shoe lines stating: "designed for people with wider feet". The lack of info compared to everything else got Agon curious and led down the rabbithole where he discovered that in quirkless communities the shoes are a sign that the person wearing them is eight out of ten times, quirkless. and that primordials are shoes designed for quirkless people but is marketed as just a wide shoe to prevent the quirkless from having a target on their back but still having a easy identifier for other quirkless people.
however this revelation wasn't very world shaking for Agon he saw quirks as just a part of a person given to them by the genetic lottery that governs talent and in his eyes he struck the jackpot and whether or not his talent was because of the quirk-gene or not he didn't care he saw himself as pure talent condensed into a person. his talents allowed him to place first in his first and second year sports festivals as a general education student reacting and counter attacking his opponents in the 1v1's. however Agon would refuse the invitations to join the hero course both times he won as he had no interest in helping people. He joined UA solely to join the Gen-Ed classes so he could have the best education possible. he only tried and succeded at winning the sports festival for the purpose of satisfying his ego and proving his superiority to the world however in his third year he would acheive joint gold with mirio togata whos new mastery of his quirk allowed him to tie with Agon
