The only thing on Saiki’s mind at that moment was the twelve pack of coffee jellies his mom had brought home approximately 5 seconds ago.
She had just returned from grocery shopping, and he heard in her thoughts that she had brought him a little snack. He hadn’t been able to go out much recently after school, so he was starting to miss his favorite treat. Getting up from his bed, he listened as the cars rolled by, the mindless thoughts of pedestrians, the loud blasting tv his dad had on in the livingroom, it was all so normal. Irritating, but Saiki was used to it. He walked down the stairs, subconsciously counting the steps it took to walk down, and he reached the kitchen.
He headed straight to the counter where the jellies were, groceries sat unopened on the floor, and he ripped the case open, pulling out a small coffee jelly cup and looking for a spoon. As he ate in bliss, he noticed something strange. “Where are my parents?”
He looked around the kitchen, and walked to the living room. He checked the whole downstairs, and upstairs. He checked the balcony, and stepped outside in his front yard, all while eating his coffee jelly. He wasn’t too worried, they were always doing something random, but he thought it was strange that he hadn’t heard them leave.
He tried going back inside, but found the front door locked. “What the..” He opened it with telekinesis, and stepped in, mildly disturbed. Then, he saw it. It was in his living room, huge, wider than his couch and taller than the ceiling, the top of it having broken through and into the upstairs. It was bright pink, glowing, and a strange almost rhythmic and high pitched sound came from it. It was a.. “A crystal? How did this get in here?”
He walked towards it, listening to its noise. The crystal glowed at him, menacingly, its presence leaving a bad taste in Saiki’s mouth. He looked around again for his parents, but was unable to hear their thoughts- in fact, he couldn’t hear anything. His mind immediately went to thinking that he had somehow accidentally put on his germanium ring, but that was ridiculous. He extended his hand, placing it on the crystal. In an instant, it sent a shockwave through the room, and it sent Saiki back a few feet. His glasses fell off from the force, as he landed on the floor on his back. He groaned, annoyed, and opened his eyes to see the crystal- gone.
‘What was that!?‘
