Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Barry Allen was having the worst week ever. It was like the gods hated him. Early this week, he had to deal with a meta who was able to make someone tell nothing but the truth, no work around it. You can’t try and phrase it differently or use different words, if someone asks you something you can only answer honestly.

What’s worse is that he wasn’t even hit as the Flash but as Barry Allen. Barry has already admitted to Caitlin, Cisco, Joe and Iris that he was gay and only pretended to be in love with Iris because it was easier than to get his heart crushed if they didn’t accept him while being in love with someone else.

Caitlin, Cisco and Joe were shocked and surprised, nothing gave them a clue Barry wasn’t straight but they supported him. Iris, though, stormed out, angry and hurt and has now been trying to get Barry to tell her who he was in love with.

The only good thing was Barry had the next 2 days off, hoping they would find a cure. Good thing is they did find out how to break the curse. Bad thing is Barry would rather die than do it. You have to find the person your secret affects and tell them the truth, and Barry couldn’t do that. At all.

Now his 2 days off was over and he walked into the station with Joe at his side, “I have already informed the Captain and he told everyone else. No one is to ask you anything that isn’t to do with work.” Joe reassured his son seeing how his shoulders tensed. He hated that he couldn’t help his son more but there wasn’t anything he could do except convince him to tell the person his secret.

“Thanks Joe.” Barry smiled ignoring the looks he was getting from some of the detectives. He didn’t want to see their pity.

Barry spent most of the day in his lab, only leaving for Flash business. The detectives who came in for their files smiled at him but didn’t try to talk to him knowing he wasn’t in the mood to say anything.

At the end of the day, Barry packed up and made his way downstairs to Joe. “Hey Barr.” Joe smiled, packing up for the day, “Ready to go?”

“Yeah.” Barry nodded, he still had to go out as the Flash, but after that he just wanted to go home and sleep until Caitlin could figure out another way to break this stupid curse. He knew the easy way would be to just tell his secret but he couldn’t.

“BARRY!”

Barry groaned, tilting his head towards the ceiling as everyone looked at Iris who was storming over to the CSI. David Singh stepped out of his office. Joe stepped in front of Barry, stopping his daughter from getting close to the speedster “Iris you can not be here.” Joe told his daughter.

Iris shrugged off her dad's hand and looked at Barry who looked for an escaped “Barry we need to talk right now.”

“I don’t want to talk to you.” Barry told her. Some detective brows raised, surprised that Allen wasn’t jumping at the chance to talk to Iris. Iris glared at Barry, trying to step around her dad only for Joe to follow, keeping her away from him.

“Too bad. Why did you hide the fact that you're gay from everyone!”

The station went dead silent as everyone turned to the CSI. Some flinched back, as the angry look in Barry's eyes. They have never seen him that made before, the type of made that turned your eyes into cold hard stone.

“IRIS!” Joe yelled.

“What the hell, Iris!” Barry yelled, “You knew I didn’t want anyone to know!”

Iris shrugged, not caring for the disgusted looks she was being given. “Why? Because you know you shouldn’t love a man?” She sneered.

Joe looked at his daughter in disbelief. How could she say that? He didn’t raise her to be homophobic, or is she just mad Barry didn’t love her?

It really didn’t matter to Joe at that moment because all he could see was the hurt on his son's face, and the sneer on his daughters and knew nothing will be the same after today.

“Loving a man is better than loving you.” Barry told her.

Iris took a step back, hurt and anger flashing in her eyes. The officers looked around not knowing what to say or do.

Joe shook his head grabbing his daughter's arm, “You need to leave, now.” He pulled her away but Iris dug her feet, fighting against her dad.

“No! He’s going to tell me who he loves!” Iris yelled at her dad.

“He doesn’t have to tell you anything.” Joe tried to pull Iris away but she fought harder against him.

“Caitlin said if Barry tells the person his secret affects most , the curse will break!” Iris broke free of Joe’s hold turning to Barry. “Who are you in love with!”

“NO!” The officer shouted.

A detective, Joe’s new partner and Barry’s friend, Evie Payton lunged forward, covering Barry’s mouth as he automatically opened to answer.

“IRIS!” Joe grabbed her pushing her towards two officers “Get her out of here!”

The officers dragged her towards the elevator as Joe hurried over to Barry, his heart breaking when he saw the fear in his eyes.

Barry didn’t dare look at anyone else in the room, one hand holding Evie free one, the other clenching his bag strap, eyes locked on Joe’s. He could feel the lighting under his skin, humming in soothing tones but it didn’t calm Barry down at all.

“Barry,” Joe walked towards his son. “Can you hold it back long enough to get you out of here if Evie let’s go?”

Barry shook his head. His eyes felt wet and his throat tightened, a lump forming.

Evie looked at her partner “What do we do?” She asked, glancing at Barry. It hurt her to see the fear in Barry’s eyes. Evie might have only started 4 months ago, she became close to both her partner and Barry and knew Barry wasn’t ready to come out.

Did she know Barry was gay? No. Did she suspect it? Yes. Did she say anything? No way. It wasn’t her place to ask Barry if he was gay, and it wasn’t her place to tell anyone else.

“Joe!”

Joe looked at Singh, as he opened the office door “Take him in my office.” David told the group.

Joe looked at Barry, “You want me with you?” He asked softly. Evie was going to know, she had to because she couldn’t remove her hand without Barry blurting the name of the person he loves out. If Barry told Joe he didn’t want him in the office, if he didn’t want him knowing the person he loves, Joe wouldn’t hold it against him.

Barry nodded, letting go of Evie's hand and grabbing Joe’s.

“Come on.”

The officers and detectives moved out the way, letting the three pass without a word. Some looked at Allen in pity, while others looked murderous. Not towards Barry, never towards Barry, but towards Iris who put Barry in this position.

David and Barry locked eyes as Barry passed. David felt his heart skip a beat, and his stomach flip, before looking away, shutting the office door.

Joe shut the blinds, no one needed to see this.

Barry took a few deep breaths, trying to gather the courage to say the name. Joe was in front of him, holding him by the shoulders.

“Ready?” Evie's soft, comforting voice was in his ears.

Barry nodded, closing his eyes. Evie looked at Joe, who nodded once. Evie took a moment to gather herself, before removing her hand.

The name slipped past Barry's lips before he could even think about it. The name burned his throat, it felt like poison on his tongue, the name he kept hidden since he met the man. The full name he never dared let pass his lips if fear someone would hear the fondness in which he said the name.

Now it was being ripped out of him, and he could do nothing to stop it. Nothing could stop his father hearing the name of the man he was so deeply in love with. Nothing could stop his new friend from realizing who it was he talked about when they were having a long night in the lab.

“David Singh.”

Joe and Evie froze for a second, just enough time for Barry to escape. He pulled out Joe and Evie’s hold, rushing towards the door.

The detectives were startled as Singh's office door was thrown open and Barry ran out, faster than anyone else had seen him run.

“Barry!” Joe yelled coming out of his shock. “Barry, wait!” Joe grabbed his jacket, running after his son, as Evie stood in Singh's doorway, surprise and disbelief shining in her eyes.

“Payton.”

Evie's head snapped towards Singh.

David frowned, looking concerned, “Are you okay?” He asked worriedly.

Evie slowly nodded, staring at him wide eyed. “Yeah.” She told him. “I’m good.” She was in fact not good. Her friend is in love with their boss. Their boss who Evie knows like him back, if the looks Singh gives Barry when he thinks no one is looking, are anything to go on.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

David sighed softly, running a hand through his hair. It's been two days since The Incident, as the station dubbed it and Barry called out for the rest of the week. David couldn't blame him. Being outed like that in front of his co-workers, Joe and Evie discovering who Barry loved, it wasn't a shock to anyone that Barry didn't want to come back until Ms. Snow could find a way to break the . . . Spell, or whatever it is on Barry.

"Captain, got a minute?"

David looked up to see Joe standing in the doorway, "Joe, come in." David waved him in, closing the files he was looking through. Joe closed the door behind him, taking a seat across from his boss and long time friend. "What can I do for you?"

"I need you to speak to Barry." Joe told him bluntly.

David blinked. Out of everything, David did not expect Joe to say that. "Can I ask why?" David asked cautiously. He didn't get why he needed to talk with Barry, was there something wrong - more wrong - with the younger man? And if there is, why does Joe want him to talk to Barry?

Joe sighed, rubbing his face exhausted. He spent four hours last night trying to convince Barry to tell David he loves the man, but his son is stubborn and believes that David saw him as nothing more than his nerdy, late CSI. Joe didn't know how to convince Barry that he was wrong.

Joe wasn't blind. He saw the looks his friend gave his son when David believed no one was looking. Did he like that his friend, who was two years younger than him, loved his son? Not practically. Did he like that his son loved a man who was close to his age? Again, not practically. But did he love his son and friend and want them happy? Absolutely. And if having David go over to Barry's apartment - Joe really needs to convince his son to move, he doesn't like that apartment - to confess his love for the younger man, then Joe would do that.

"I can't tell you." Joe told his friend honestly. "But you need to go over after work." Joe grabbed a pen and paper from David's desk and wrote down Barry addresses, "Here," David took the paper from Joe looking it over, " this is where he lives. Talk with him. And I mean talk."

The way Joe said that made David look up sharply. Joe smiled, a little warily, "I just want him happy. And you deserve to be happy as well." With that Joe left the office, shutting the door behind him.

Evie looked up as Joe took his seat, "Do you think he'll go?" She asked.

Joe nodded, "I know he will."

Barry locked himself in his apartment, avoiding everyone. He hated that he had to call out of work for the rest of the week, only leaving when the flash was needed during the day and patrol for the night, though he called it quits earlier than he normally would, but Barry couldn't risk anyone asking him anything that could reveal any of his secrets.

Wednesday was a close enough call. Barry groaned, thinking back to the incident and how everyone almost knew he was madly in love with his boss.

He loves you too.

Joe's words came back to him, making Barry snort. Yeah right, like someone like David could ever love someone like Barry. Joe was just trying to make him feel better that was all. Barry huddled under his blanket, watching Singing In The Rain, when a knock on the door caught his attention.

"If you're one of my friends go away!" Barry shouted.

"Barry, it's me." David's voice floated through his apartment. "Can you open the door?"

Barry blinked. Did he hear that right? "Captain Singh?" Barry asked hesitantly.

"Yes, Barry."

Barry blinked again. Tossing the blanket off him, Barry stood up glancing down at his outfit. Black sweats, and a white beater. Good enough. "Coming!" Barry shouted, looking around his apartment. He closed the empty pizza box, tossing it in the trash, before heading to the front door. Taking a deep breath Barry opened it.

David stood at his door, suit jacket draped across one arm, tie loose, top two buttons of his shirt undone. Barry stared at him for a long beat. How does he look so hot? David cleared his throat. Barry looked away from his chest, snapping his eyes back to David face, flushing when he saw the smirk on the older man.

"W-What are you doing here?" Barry stuttered out.

"I came to talk." David smiled a little. The air got caught in his throat, David looked even more handsome when he smiled. "Can I come in?"

"S-sure." Barry nodded, stepping aside allowing David in. "So, what do you want to talk about?" He asked, shutting the door, leaning against it, crossing his arms.

David cleared his throat, setting his suit jacket, and satchel on Barry's kitchen table. "Can we sit?"

Barry nodded, moving to the couch. David settled close, closer than normal. Barry swallowed.

"Barry," David caught his attention "I want to talk, you don't have to say anything. Okay?" Barry nodded. David took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. He was going to admit to Barry that he was in love with him. How would the younger man take it? Barry is already in love with another man.

But he needed to do this. He needed to admit it.

"Barry, you are a wonderful man. I think you are the smartest man I've ever met. And so, so amazing. I see how much you care for your job, and I see how you are with children and I..." Barry wondered if this was David's way of letting him down gently. If it was, it was only making Barry fall more in love with him because of the soft way he spoke. Barry looked down at his hands, not wanting to look at the man he loved when he utters those words - "It's why I love you."

"What?!" Barry's head snapped up meeting Davids, brown clashing with brown. "You love me?" Barry asked in disbelief.

David swallowed, nodded. "I do. And I know you don't love me, but-"

"You think I don't love you?" Barry blurted out.

"Do you?" David asked, instantly regretting it. "Sorry, you don't have to answer that. I for-"

Barry cut him off again. "I do." He didn't feel the need to hold it back. David snapped his mouth shut, closing with a click, looking at the younger man with wide eyes. "I do love you, David." Saying his name felt a little weird but also felt so good. Normal.

"But . . . the other day, Payton and Joe-" David cut himself off realizing why Joe wanted him to come here. "So that was the plan." He murmured to himself, but Barry heard him and became confused.

"Plan?"

"Joe came into my office today, told me I should talk. Actually talk to you." Barry's eyes widened, Joe did this. His cheeks heated up, realizing his dad sent his crush to him. "I didn't understand why, when he heard who you loved but now . . ." David laughed. "I realized he sent me because he knew."

"Y-yeah. Joe and Evie know."

David nodded, tilting his head slightly. "So . . . Is the . . . spell? . . . Still in effect?" He asked.

Barry frowned. He didn't feel any different, but he also didn't feel any different when the spell first took effect. "I don't know." He turned towards David fully, "Ask me something." He added.

"Who's the Flash?"

"Joe." Barry deadpanned.

David cracked a smile, "Looks like it's broken."

Barry laughed, looking at his hands wondering what happens now. David knows he loves him. David also loves him. They love each other. What's going to happen to them now? "So . . ." Barry licked his lips, glancing at his boss from under his lashes. "What happens now?"

David looked down at him, eyes burning with an intensity that Barry didn't understand, but made his stomach tighten. "Now?" David moved closer to Barry, closing the distance between them, gently grabbing Barry's cheek. "Now I would like to kiss you."

"Yeah?" Barry breathed out.

"Yeah." David nodded. "Can I?"

"Yes please."

David pushed forward, locking his lips with Barry's. Barry hummed softly, wrapping his hands around David's neck, pulling him closer. David gently bit Barry's bottom lip, making the younger man gasp giving him the perfect opportunity to slide his tongue in Barry's mouth.

Barry groaned, whimpering a little when David pulled away. "You're beautiful." David whispered, staring at Barry's flushed face, and glossy eyes.

"David please." Barry whimpered.

"What? What do you want, baby?" David asked, nipping at Barry's neck.

Barry moaned, tilting his head backwards to give David more room. "Please. I need you." Barry whimpered.

David stood up, pulling Barry up with him, "Bedroom?" David asked. Barry pointed down the hall to the door on the right. David gripped Barry's hips, lifting him into his arms. Barry wrapped his legs around David's waist and his arms around his neck. Barry blinked in surprise.

David chuckled making his way towards the bathroom, "I'm stronger than I look." David whispered, walking into the bedroom, kicking the door closed and dropping Barry onto his bed. "Now you're mine for the night."

Barry leaned up on his elbows, giving David a coy smile. "Promise?" He asked licking his lips watching as David pulled off his shirt, showing his toned stomach.

"Oh baby," David growled, crawling on top of Barry, "I'm going to make sure you can't walk tomorrow." David pulled Barry into a deep passion kiss making the younger man moan.

Joe walked into the Cortex. It was early morning, and he had work in an hour but he wanted to come in and see if David actually went to talk to Barry last night. Cisco was working on the computer, Caitlin in the lab on the right, trying to make an antidote for Barry and the other people who got hit by the meta. "Cisco," Joe stopped next to the man. "Can you track a phone for me?"

"Sure." Cisco nodded, "Who am I tracking?"

"Captain Singh."

Cisco looked at Joe confused, but did as he was told when Joe motioned for him to hurry up. "Looks like Captain Singh is at . . ." Cisco narrowed his eyes at the blinking button, locating Captain Singh's phone. "Is at Barry's house. Why is Captain Singh at Barry's house?" Cisco asked Joe.

"Who's at Barry's house?" Caitlin asked, walking towards the two men.

Cisco turned to his friend, "Captain Singh. He's at Barry's house."

Caitlin raised a surprised brow looking at Joe. The man only grinned, "How long has he been there?" Joe asked. Caitlin hummed, leaning over Cisco to read the screen.

"Uh, seems like since last night. 9 PM." Caitlian stood up crossing her arms, "Joe what is going on?"

Joe shrugged, "No idea. I have to get to work. Uh . . . Barry's still hiding away, but I don't think he's going to be needing that antidote." Joe grinned at the two before leaving.

Cisco and Caitlin turned to each other shocked and surprised.

"Go Barry." Cisco laughed.

Barry woke up to a warm body next to him. He cracked open one eye, smiling when he saw David sleeping peacefully, hair a mess, blanket draped across his hips, showing off the love bites Barry left all over him. Seeing the bites though, made Barry blush.

He remembered last night, when in the middle of their . . . love making . . . he vibrated when David was . . . when he was feeling too much pleasure. Dead giveaway that he was the Flash. Though from David's reaction Barry knew he didn't really mind, especially if it feels that good.

His phone buzzed on the nightstand, made Barry reach over, squinting as the light blinded him a little. Eyes adjusted, Barry opened the message from Joe and flushed again, this time in embarrassment.

* David isn't expected to work today. Or tomorrow. Don't get into trouble and be safe.*

Though embarrassed, Barry smiled knowing his dad planned all of this, and sent a short message back.

*Thanks pops. For everything.*

Barry turned off his phone, settling it back on the nightstand wrapping his arms around David's waist. David hummed in his sleep, moving closer to Barry. Barry closed his eyes smiling a little, deciding to get some more sleep.
