See me, save me now

Summary:

“So, who was lover boy over there, sir? I’ve never seen you look at anyone with such emotion.” The white haired male said while biting through his bagel.

“What are you talking about? And, god, is that your second bagel!? You’d really ought to take me up on that offer to go to the gym with me.”

“Do not change the subject!” Moxxie pointed a finger at him, “you always do that!”

“Well for good reasons, look at you! Riding my dick about some look” he scoffed, “he’s a friend from high school. We were close, I guess, but that’s it!”

Moxxie looked him up and down and shook his head. “Not buying it sir, especially due to the way he was checking you out.”

Notes:

Hey everyone..! I know, I know I said I was going to continue with ‘A fairytale isn’t it?’, but a lot of things happened in the past few months and I haven’t gotten the motivation to even touch the google doc 💔. This idea came to me in a dream about a week ago, and I just could not rest until I finished AT LEAST five chapters. Expect those to drop soon and who knows, maybe I’ll get working on AFIT soon?

No Beta, we double die like sinners.

Chapter 1: Hold me now

Chapter Text

This divorce thing was really different when you actually experienced it. Octavia had only ever seen it in movies, and it wasn’t until her dad sat her down and played an old Sesame Street episode where she finally understood what a divorce was.

It didn’t really affect her as everyone thought it would, considering she was never close with her mother. She wasn’t horrible, they just seemed to look at life through different lenses.

Even when they didn’t, the way they did the same thing somehow was completely different. She recalled on one instance, her mother was teaching her how to paint, and while Stella painted a house on a hilltop, Octavia opted to paint a dark forest with bats. Her mother was startled, to say the least. "That is no way for a six-year old girl to act!” her mother claimed.

So when she was asked by the judge who she would rather live with full time, she had immediately pointed at her dad. She could not wait to live with the only grown up who treated her justly and respected her interests. She would visit her mother at least once a month, and while not completely thrilled about her likes, Stella found a way to understand how Via functioned.

They weren’t always on the best terms, but Octavia understood why her mother acted the way she did, or, at least, as much as a ten year old could.

“It’s not like mom wouldn’t bring me here,” she said while sipping her iced coffee, “but we both know she would have a heart attack just looking at them.”

She inspected a taxidermied owl, noting that the feathers on it looked so realistic. “You think these are real? I didn’t think it was legal to use actual animals”

Via looked up at her dad who was in the middle of looking at a taxidermied lizard. “I suppose some people are able to get away with it. It’s not uncommon for folks to break the law to create more authenticity, and therefore, more of a cash grab.”

“Anywho, I think this little guy has gotten my attention!” Stolas thrilled. “Isn’t he the cutest?” He showed her the lizard who, in her most honest opinion, was the ugliest thing she’d ever set her eyes upon.

“No wonder I turned out weird, look at you!” she said through giggles. As her dad waited in line to pay for their unique creatures, she made her way out the store and began walking to the hair salon.

She’d been coming to this mall ever since she was a baby, so she knew this route like the back of her hand. Via had always wanted to dye her hair, and her dad had claimed that she was finally old enough to do so! The problem was that she still didn’t know if she wanted her entire hair dyed, or just her bangs

Octavia prayed to God to give her a sign, and as she was nearing the store, a tanned skinned man walked out with white colored bangs. Jackpot! As he walked past her, she decided to compliment him. Let the man know he had made the best decision of his life.

“Excuse me sir! Your bangs look really good!“ she yelled.

The man looked at her and shot her with finger guns. “Thanks kid! See Moxxie, at least someone likes them!”

He slapped a shorter man on the back of his head and laughed. “These look exactly like the ones in my dream. Those folks really know what they’re doing.”

“Oh, thank you! I was debating whether or not to color my whole-“

“Blitzø?”

She jumped when she heard her dad right behind her. “When did you get here!?” You scared the hell out of me!”

“Holy shit, Stolas?”

Yeah she was so confused, how did this random man and her dad know each other??

“Christ on a stick, it really is you!” Blitzø said. “How are you? Did you actually become a lawyer?” he snickered, pointing at the attire the taller gentleman was wearing.

Stolas laughed and wore a nervous smile. “Not the ‘stuck up’ one you dreamed about, but yes I did. What did you end up doing with your business major?

“Oh I opened up a coffee shop! Well, two. The original location is in Springfield, but the new one is near Downtown.”

The two grown ups started talking about what the best way to make coffee was and while the stranger seemed to be genuinely interested in the conversation, her father was a bit more off the edge, which was something Octavia didn’t see often. Her dad was always this calm, nice guy but it seemed as if there was something more to these two. As they kept talking, she could see her dad relax more and unlock a side of himself Octavia had never seen before. By the end of it, it didn’t feel like the awkward small talk she was used to seeing her dad being involved in, whether that was with clients or ‘friends’ that were really more acquaintances. She could’ve sworn at one point she saw actual stars in her dad’s eyes.

The longer they talked, the more time she had to really take a good look at the guy. The man wore a dark blue sweater, black pants, a pair of leather gloves and boots, and a black and white scarf with snowflakes on it. She noticed his skin was more of an almond than a tan, and had lighter parts around the sides of his neck and eyes. He was conventionally attractive to say the least, and she had totally not seen where her dad’s eyes lingered to every now and then.

“Well I would love to keep arguing with you about how whipped cream is a must on cold drinks, but my daughter here is not as patient as I am” he admitted.

“Really? The Stolas I knew had a big sense of urgency, if you know what I mean?” he smirked. “High five, Mox!”

The gentleman next to him gave him a clearly fake smile and an even faker high-five. “TMI sir,” he pleaded, “and we must hurry! We were here to give a deposit check to what would be your third establishment, not to dye your bangs and boost your ego about your jokes..”

“Wow, talk about a tough crowd,” Blitzø rolled his eyes and took out his phone, “I assume your dinosaur ass still has the same phone number.” A buzz came from Stolas’s back pocket. “And I guessed right. Hey, Stols, text me whenever you or your kid are in Downtown, kay? Coffee 's on me.”

“Now get those legs moving and get your kid the best damn stylist, because trust me it is like hell in there on a day like this” he smiled one last time before looking back at Moxxie. “You too, dude! We don’t have all day. Christ on a stick it’s like all you do is sit on your ass and-“ that was the last Via could hear of their conversation.

She looked up at her dad and asked “Okay, first of all, that guy is the most confident person I have ever seen, second of all, how and why do you know him?”

All of her dad’s friends would be mortified by the way this particular man carried himself, but somehow this man was the only one who intrigued Octavia.

“He’s uhh” her dad paused, realizing he did not know how to put this in a formal way, “friend! Yeah, we go way back. I met him in high school but we drifted apart once we got into colleges across the country from each other.”

He looked like he wanted to say more. He looked like he knew that it was more than that. “Now, what are we doing with that hair darling?”

That had seemed to grab the former's attention. “Wait, you’re deadass, Mox?” Before his friend could reassure his words, the other one became a nervous wreck.

“Okay so you noticed it too because I swear that there was a vibe going on! I’m not crazy, right?? Right, he was so into me, fuck, I knew it! I was going to ask him out but his kid was there and it would’ve made things even weird so I made the joke about the big sense-”

“What happened to “old friend from high school”, huh?” The male smiled mischievously.

“Oh give me a break, Mox! You clearly knew that was a load of bullshit,” he looked over to his left and spotted a flower shop, “now, help me choose a bouquet for him.” Before he could get an answer, he dragged Moxxie by his arm as they entered the store.

Chapter 2: Need you like water

I apologize for not updating this story !! Things have just been wild in my personal life 🫩🫩

Chapter Text

“So was it something serious?” Moxxie asked as they walked down the streets of downtown on a Saturday evening

“At first it wasn’t, but then I started getting this tingly feeling,” he pointed at his chest “and when he got into Yale and I into UCLA, I don’t know, figured it was a sign to end things.”

They walked in silence for a little, before they approached the coffee shop. Ironically, Blitzø opened the door the second his friend caught onto the deeper meaning. “Blitzø Buckzo! You fell in love!”

The entire store went silent, surrounded with college kids who were trying to study, giving awkward looks to their fellow peers, to parents trying to order for their kids.

“Keep it down! My customers do not need to know my business” Blitzø whispered.

“My apologies, sir, but it’s so” he looked at the man in front of him, unable to see how in the world could he? out of all people, fall in love?

“Yeah what a shocker, I know,” he muttered. “But is it really that surprising?”

“YEAH it is! Just ask Millie!” Moxxie pointed at his wife, who was currently dealing with all of their jobs at the same time.

“Ask me what!?” She huffed. “What is so important that it took you THREE HOURS!? And those flowers better be an apology gift for leaving me alone to run this place!”

“We may or may not have,” Moxxie shrugged his shoulders before he lunged over the counter, “run into Blitzø’s boyfriend from high school whos really tall and a lawyer and we may or may not have spent the entire afternoon deciding on this!” He pointed back at giant bouquet that Blitzø was currently using to hide himself.

“And he may or may not be planning to ask him out tomorrow?”

Milllie’s face lit up so hard they thought it was gonna catch on fire. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner!? Oh no, we need more than that!” She yelled at the crowd that they were closed and needed everyone to leave as soon as possible.

Once the last group of people left, they locked up and started planning. “What are you looking for? What do you think he’s looking for? You remember any of his interests? Favorite color, pastry, drink, ANYTHING!?” Millle screamed.

“Mills calm down!” Blitzø reassured. “I know what I’m doing, okay? This isn’t my first rodeo with him.”

“I’m sorry, it’s just,” she looked back at her husband with tears in her eyes, “they just grow up so fast!”

“I’m older than both of you!?”

“Yes, keep telling yourself that champ.” Moxxie said through grinning teeth. “We just want what’s best for you, kiddo.” Millie added. The couple erupted in laughter afterwards, leaving the bewitched man as they walked to their car.

“Seriously, B, don’t mess this up! I want to actually meet one of your partners for once!” she said before she was too far away to be heard.

Blitzø chuckled and shook his head, heading towards his own vehicle. It was more of a modern car than his van, one of those that drove itself if told so. He wasn’t exactly a fan of it, but Loona had insisted lthat the silver color matched her hair, and how could he say no to his baby?

As he set the flowers in the backseat, he shot a quick text to a certain someone, starting the gears in his plan. No turning back now, bitch.

He looked over his shoulder every now and then, watching the leaves on the trees surrounding him while wondering if the man was going to even show up.

Blitzø was a nervous mess, constantly looking at his smartwatch to check if he had gotten the time correct.

He wasn't going to back down, especially because he had promised Millie he was trying to be a better person. Stolas might not say yes, but it was worth at least apologizing for his past actions.

She knew deep down he was a lover boy, longing for something more than one night stands. Blitzø was so lost in his own thoughts, he didn't even notice when the man he had invited out got there.

“I have to say, out of all places I found myself seeing you again,” he paused as he spotted the flowers he was holding.

The former sucked in a breath and began reciting the words he had thought about saying everyday for the past twelve years. “Look, Stolas. What I did to you, was really shitty.”

His pupils began dilating as he continued. “I was an idiot for breaking up with you, and I was an asshole for lying to you and telling you I didn't feel the same way. I am so sorry for that, and I know I don't deserve it but please” he handed him the bouquet, “take me back baby. I love how kind and generous you are, how you’ve always been so good with children, how when I look into your eyes it feels as if I’m drowning in the most purest ocean imaginable and I never want to go back up for air, how you make flowers grow out of thin air whenever you smile at me, how your laugh makes me want to kiss you forever so no one else can hear it, how you smell like lavender and the feeling of watching raindrops through your window as you stay comfortable in your pajamas, how whenever I talked about my dumb horse shit you still managed to think I was the hottest guy alive.”

He could feel the tears crippling in his eyes, but he was committed. “My god Stolas, I could stand here all week and name every single thing I loved about you. Every little thing you thought I didn’t notice, I could state right now. The day you told me that you loved me was the day I knew you were the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I slept with you that night with the intention of waking up the next morning and asking you to marry me, but instead I cowardly wrote you a break up letter and ran out shirtless to a school all the way across the country before you could wake up.”

The tears had disappeared and reappeared now as full on sobs. Some people had stopped what they were doing to intently listen to this poor man’s confession, some getting teary eyed themselves. “I took everything from you, and I know it’s pathetic for me to crawl back to you but goddamnit, you make me want to be pathetic! You make me want to be so stupidly in love!”

The second those words fell out of his mouth, rain started pouring down on them. As if on cue, Blitzø took an umbrella out of his pocket and opened it. That single action made the other’s glossy eyes fill with tears. “Is that-”

“Yes, Stolas. It’s the matching umbrella you gifted me our sophomore year because some girl had complimented my old one and you thought she was flirting with me, so you had these custom made so chicks knew that I was taken.”

That was all the man needed to hear to pull him in and kiss him, which brought applause and cheers from the crowd surrounding them. The touch felt so heavenly, the shorter man could only assume that he was kissing an ethereal being from some far unknown. He moaned as it was broken, having waited more than a decade for this specific feeling.

Stolas looked down at the bouquet in front of him and let out a sob. “For fucks sake, you remembered the way I taught you how to arrange flowers.”

“Yeah but only because you gave me the best head afterwards,” he whispered mischievously.

“And then your mom walked in on you panting and moaning like a slut and proceeded to smack the absolute shit out of the both of us,” the other scoffed. “As well as prohibiting us from ever closing the door.”

“Oh shut up, you loved doing it in my closet,” he grinned as he placed a playful hand on his waist.

“And then she caught me begging for you to come inside of me, and proceeded to give us the beating of our life and forced us to clean your entire house for two weeks straight.”

“We didn’t do shit! We fucked in my tree house!”

“Then she came home early and pushed us off the damn thing while spitting profanities at us! And then she pulled us by the ears and made us walk in and greet your family members like that!”

“In my defense, I had no idea that was the reason she wanted us to clean.”

Stolas rolled his eyes and laughed. “Why were we so horny?”

“Horny is your middle name, mister. Our first time was in the bathroom of our sophomore dance because you couldn’t wait another hour. After that, you wanted to permanently live on top of it.”

The former tried to come up with a rebuttal, but he simply couldn’t. He smiled as he wrapped his arm around him. “You’re such an idiot, you know that?”

“Only when you're around,” he whispered lovingly.

They both smiled and made their way down the pavement as they talked about more embarrassing anecdotes. Blitz felt a certain feeling that he hadn’t felt in the past twelve years, and that was more than enough to make him radiate joy.

Notes:

This was originally supposed to be an Octavia centered fanfic, but now I’m debating if to add some Stolas/Blitzø povs!
