So you may have heard, but the universe conspired against me to keep this episode from getting out, first I was running sound for a wedding (which was lovely), and then my computer fuckin beefed it, which was very frustrating, and THEN!

and then nothing, this episode just dragged me out back and shot me in the head.
and then I wildly underestimated how long this would take to make.
A big part of what I like about this project is it allows me to practice and learn more about this kind of producing, while still working on something I'm passionate about. And hooooo boy did this episode teach me some lessons. one of which being, "wow it's actually a lot harder to set a building on fire than I thought!". so y'know, live and learn.

uhmmmmm Yeah I think i've kept you guys waiting long enough, lets get into it! No particular spoilers so just our content warnings.
OH! also I would highly recommend reading along in the original episode while listening to this if you don't do that already, certain sections get a liiiiitle too on fire and it becomes a bit difficult to hear our lovely voice actors.

the fruits of my laborssssss

There's a LOT to talk about audiowise in this episode, so I'll pick a few highlights.

first things first, easily the most complicated of any episode I've made so far. There are 42 different general audio tracks (which blows the previous record of 14 tracks), all of which have multiple files in them so we're rocking at LEAST 200 clips in this thing. jesus that's crazy to write out. some personal favorites:

Our drums!!! with the bbg who owns them kicking the bucket, I wanted to make sure I used them a bunch in here. mostly as a part of the fire soundscaping so it's pretty subtle, but I cranked it up in a few sections when Hiyoko's enjoying some screen time (mic time? air time?)
I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to include the fire alarm as part of the general soundscape, but I really wanted to use it to add tension and urgency to the situation as a whole, and I found a way for it to make sense in canon, so it's here!
uhhhhhh im blanking on what else to say. I really like the drums. I like the drums a lot. im so sad Hiyoko is dead bc that means the drums are gone.

ohhhhhhkay I think that's it! next episode is gonna be a hell of a lot simpler to put together, so I will see you all next week!
