Summary:

Mirio, Nejire, Tamiki, Akio, and Hiroki all go to the beach together one their spring break. Some find love, some fix friendships, and some just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

This is in my own AU, so some things are just my opinions or head cannons. Two of the characters are my mha OCs, please don’t use them without my permission

Chapter 1: Into / backstory

   AU changes from canon:
This takes place one year after the big war. After the war U.A. took a year to recover and help rebuild society. In that year Present Mic and Aizawa got married (it’s my AU I can do what I want) They also officially adopted Eri. Now the third years are finishing high school with a new sense of safety now that the villains are gone.

Akio and Hiroki are both third years at U.A. High. Akio Ashido’s quirk is Acid Skin, she can cover her skin in acid that can hurt and deflect. Hiroki Sekio’s quirk is Cryroboil, she can manipulate water and change the temperature of it. Mina, from class 1A, is Akio’s younger cousin

Akio and Hiroki have been “friends” since sixth grade. Hiroki has always been cautious of Akio, never really fully opened up to her. But Akio treats her like she’d treat any other friend. Even though sometimes Hiroki can be pretty mean, Akio has always stuck by her side no matter what.

Tamiki Amajiki, Nejire Hado, and Mirio Togata are known as the big three at U.A. They're all third years and good friends with Akio. Hiroki says that she doesn’t like them, but she follows them on all their missions and hang outs, so Akio is getting a little suspicious.

Akio and Tamiki used to date as first years but they broke up by the end of the year. Tamiki broke up with her for his own reasons and it was pretty clean over all. Akio treats him all the same as if it never happened, but Tamiki still apologizes sometimes for no reason.

Now that the back story is out of the way, let’s get into the story…

Chapter 2: Chapter I

Summary:

Nejire pitches the idea that they should all go on a beach trip for half of their spring break. They all decide to meet up and discuss the plan more after class.

     “Ugh…” Tamiki lets out a groan as he lays his head on his desk. His arms are folded, head laid on them. His almost black hair splaying out over his arms. Nejire sits next to him, kicking her feet under her desk. She looks over at him with a concerned look. “What’s the frown for Sunny? Aren’t you excited for ✨spring break✨? Two weeks off of school!” She asks, turning to face him. He’s just grumbling out an answer that Nejire can’t quite make out. Though she didn’t mind, she’d find out the cause on her own.

“Are you nervous because Akio is gonna be there? I thought you were over this…” she asks with a roll of her eyes. She didn’t want to sound mean, she’s never mean, she just was over him talking about it. Tamiki lifts his head to face her. His brow is furrowed with annoyance. “I-it’s not that Neji..” He mumbles, turning away from her and laying his head back down. “Then what is it Sunny, are you scared of Hiroki? I mean yeah she’s mean but you should be *scared*…” Nejire kept talking, but Tamiki wasn’t paying much attention.

His thoughts were up in the clouds, thinking of a certain someone. Someone who he hasn’t been able to get them out of him mind for weeks, maybe months, maybe years. It’s infuriating. But it’s not like he can help it when they’re one of his best friends. He sees them every day, laughs at their jokes, and blushes any time someone says the name-

“Mirio!” Nejire exclaims, practically bouncing out of her seat. Her purpleish blue hair sponging like coils. Nejire hops into Mirio’s arms and gives him the biggest hug as he enters the classroom. Tamiki looks up to see Mirio, along with Akio and Hiroki right behind him. The girls are bickering of course, when are they not. Their teacher instructs the three to sit down.

Today is the last day before spring break, so it was only a half day. This was their last class, then they’re all free for two weeks. It’s math class, taught by Ectoplasm, so barely anyone was actually paying attention. “Pssst! Akio, pass this around..” Nejire slips Akio a small piece of paper. It’s folded twice over and very neatly too. Akio unfolds it and takes a look at what it says.

Do you guys wanna go to a beach?  :D  \;)

Akio looks back over at Nejire confused. She mouths the word “what” but Nejire just giggles and gestures for Akio to pass it. Akio passes it to Mirio next. He looks at it, then has to cover his mouth to stifle his laughter. The note is so simple yet had both Mirio and Nejire cracking up. Mirio then passes it to Tamiki, who then passes it to Hiroki. Hiroki rolls her eyes and lets out a grunt.

As they all pass it back to Nejire, she looks at all of them. “Well? My mom’s friend had a beach condo, and she said she’d let us use it for a week. What do you guys say?” Her face is full of excitement and anticipation, how can any of them say no to that? Mirio excitedly nods his head, Tamiki gives a slow thumbs up, and Akio nods once. Hiroki on the other hand writes something down on another piece of paper and passes it to Nejire.

I can’t, at least not until three days into break. I got some family stuff. So ifI do come, I’m gonna be late.

As Nejire reads it, she looks back up at Hiroki. “That’s fine”, she whispers, “I’ll have a room ready for you if you ‘decide’ to come” She giggles as she puts air quotes on “decide”. She knows that Hiroki will come, she’s just playing hard to get. Hiroki just rolls her eyes and gives a half hearted thumbs up. “Meet me after class in the teacher’s meeting room!” Nejire whispers excitedly. Everyone nods, and Hiroki gives a brief “ok” before leaving class.

Chapter 3: CHAPER II

Summary:

They all figure out dates and early plans for their vacation

     After class ended they all left in the span of a few minutes. Akio entered the teachers’ meeting room to find Neji and Tamiki already in there, arguing quietly. “Come on, why are you so nervous about going? Akio doesn’t care about what happened between you too and you’ll barely even have to talk to Hiroki!” Neji whispers to Tamiki. He gets a sour expression on his face, a sight not commonly seen. “It’s not either of those things, just drop it-“ Tamiki stops himself when he sees Akio standing there.

“Oh Akio… “ he looks down and returns to his always timid self. “Hey guys… what were you two talking about?” She asks, trying not to sound like she was eavesdropping. “Oh it’s nothing, don’t worry about it Froggy!” Neji says with a reassuring smile. Akio doesn’t much understand the nickname “Froggy”. Neji says it’s because she’s like a poison dart frog. “Ok then, where are the other two?” Akio asks, looking around.

“Who knows! They could be off campus by now, maybe Mirio forgot..” Nejire says with a thinking look. Tamiki mutters something that the girls couldn’t quite hear. “What was that Tamiki?” Akio asks, but Tamiki just covers his face and blushes. “Alright then.. “ Akio says, turning back to Nejire. They’re all very used to how shy and quiet Tamiki can be, so this isn’t anything new.

Just then Mirio walks through the door with five snickers and a big smile on his face. He passes out all the snickers to everyone, leaving him with two (because Hiroki is late) “Sorry for being late, glad I wasn’t the last one! I had to go to the store then say hi or Eri.” He says, his voice full of joy. “Ooooh, how’s little Eri doing?” Neji says, clapping her hands together in excitement. “She’s good, she’s officially moving in with Aizawa and Mic soon too!” He answers to Nejire.

Hiroki comes sauntering into the room, full of that arrogant swagger she always carries. “Sup losers, what’s I miss?” She asks as she sits next to Akio on the couch. She puts her arm around Akio to rest her hand on her shoulder. Akio looks at her a little confused, but soon lets it go. “Not much, but you would’ve known that if you’d been here on time.” Akio teases, ruffling Hiroki’s hair. “Stop it!” Hiroki yells as she tries to bat away her hands.

“Girls girls, stop fighting!” Neji teases, though she does nothing to break them up. “Let’s get down to business. So we’ll meet at the beach on Thursday (today is Tuesday). And we’ll stay a week?” She asks, seeing if that plan works for everyone.

Chapter 4: CHAPTER III

Summary:

They finished up their plans and all went back to their dorms to pack and prepare

“Sounds like a plan Nejire!” Akio said with an enthusiastic thumbs up. Mirio let out a small chuckle and did the same. After seeing the other two’s reactions, Hiroki put up a very unenthusiastic thumbs up. The four all agree to meet up on Thursday at Nejire’s aunt’s beach house on the coast of the Izu Peninsula. They’ll all go down separately, then meet up once at the destination.

I’ll probably leave around Thursday morning!” Mirio said excitedly. “I’ll probably head over a day early to get the place ready for you guys! So I’ll leave early Wednesday.” Nejire said with a smile. The two look at Akio and Hiroki, awaiting their answers. “Like I said, I have some family stuff I’m missing so I don’t have a car…” Hiroki crossed her arms and looked over at Akio. “You can come with me Sekio~* Akio says with a small nod.

Hiroki stands up and stretches, turning towards the door. “Well, I’m gonna go enjoy what of spring break I have before being stuck with you three idiots!” She grimaces before giving a quick goodbye and leaving. “Bye bye grumpy! See you Thursday!” Nejire says with a wave as they all watch Hiroki step through the door and down the hallway. “Well, I guess I should get going to! I need to start packing.” Mirio says while getting up too. He gives both a Akio and Nejire a big hug before leaving. “Well, I suppose I should do the same?” Akio says before getting up. “You want me to walk you back to the dorms Neji?” Nejire’s eyes light up with joy, “I’d love that Akio!” She practically bounces out of her chair and walks over the meet Akio at the door.

As they walk out of the main UA building, the cool and damp air hits their skin. It had been raining earlier that day, so the air was still thick with condensation. “Brrrr, I hate the rain!” Nejire says with a soft yet annoyed tone. She wraps her arms around herself in an attempt to warm herself up a little. Akio takes off her uniform jacket and drapes it over Nejire’s shoulders. “Aren’t you gonna be cold?l” Nejire asks, looking up a little at Akio. “Nah, my acid will keep me warm.” Akio activates her quirk, covering her bare arms and legs in a thin sheet of acid. “So cool!” Nejire whispered to herself.

They continue to walk and chat as they get closer to their dorms. The path was slightly wet due to the rain, so it wasn’t very convenient. Akio almost slipped once or twice, but she either caught herself or Nejire did. Eventually they made it to the dorms and they had to go their separate ways. “See you on Thursday Akio! Hopefully the car ride with Hiroki goes well!” Nejire calls out before heading down the hallway.

This is my first time writing something so it’s kinda bad. It’s just for fun so don’t criticize

Chapter 5: CHAPTER IV

Summary:

Akio and Hiroki reach the house and meet up with Mirio. He shows them the Josie and they figure out rooming arrangements.

     Today is finally the day that everyone is leaving for the trip! Mirio had left bright and early so that he could be there first to set up his room. As discussed previously, Nejire went down yesterday to set up the house for all of them. Tamiki had some school work to finish up, so he’s heading down later today. And that leaves Hiroki and Akio.

“You all packed and ready?” Akio asks, peaking her head into Hiroki’s dorm room. “Heading out in five!” She adds before leaving down the hallway to continue putting her stuff in the car. “Tch, yeah I’m almost done..” Hiroki scoffs under her breath. She picks up her bags and starts down the stairs. As she passes through the third year dorm’s lobby, she passes by Tamiki. He’s just sitting on one of the choices, looking nervous about who knows what. Though she pays him no mind.

As Hiroki reaches Akio’s car, she’s already there. “There you are, get in and let’s get going!” Akio says with a big smile. “I know I know, stop rushing me!” Hiroki yells as she stuffs her suitcase in the trunk. She slams it shut and walks over the passenger seat. “And we’re on the road!” Akio exclaims before starting the car and driving off campus.

They drive for about thirty minutes before taking a small break at a gas station. After the small pit stop they continue on their way. After about another hour of travel, they’re finally at their destination. Akio pulls into the driveway of the house and they grab their stuff from the trunk. The door to the house is open so they decide to let themselves in.

As soon as they walk in they see a pretty spacious living room, kitchen, and dining area. The living room has two couches, a rocking chair, and a large tv mounted to the wall. On the couch is Mirio, watching his phone while eating some chips. “Hey hey! You guys made it!” He says, setting his stuff down and walking over to them. He gives Akio a hug, he tries to hug Hiroki but she pulls away.

“Well, Nejire just went out to get some food for the week so you guys can go unpack till she gets back!” He informs with a smile. He points down the hallway from the kitchen. “There are two bedrooms and a bathroom down there”, he directs his finger to the stairs at the entrance to that hallway, “and up there into more bathrooms and three more bedrooms!” This house is huge!

“Nejire took the master bedroom upstairs, and I took one of the two down here” Mirio says while showing them around. “I’ll take one of the other rooms upstairs!” Akio said already heading up the stairs with her stuff. “I guess… I’ll take the last one upstairs..” Hiroki says quietly, following Akio upstairs. 

Chapter 6: CHAPTER V

Summary:

Hiroki goes for a late night snack and sees Tamiki and Mirio together, asleep on the couch. After returning upstairs she bumps into Akio.

     After a few hours, everyone had arrived and settled in. All the girls had occupied the upstairs, and the two boys are in the two bedrooms downstairs. Mirio and Tamiki had chosen to start a movie in the living room, while the girls were all having alone time.

Hiroki decided to head downstairs to grab something from the kitchen. She paused, seeing Tamiki and Mirio on the couch together, seeing Mirio’s arm wrapped around Tamiki’s shoulders. Tamiki laying his head on Mirio’s shoulder while they both share a blanket. They had fallen asleep watching their movie.

Hiroki store there for a moment before choosing to turn off the tv for them. She grabs the remote and turns off the tv and the lights in the living room. She grabs her snack and heads back upstairs. As she turns the corner to her room, she bumps into Akio.

“Oh, hey Hiroki”, Akio says with a yawn, “what are you doing up this late?” She asks as she rubs her eyes. Her short hair all frizzy and messy. “Oh, I was just getting a snack… nothing much.” Hiroki says holding up the bowl of chips. Akio just nods and passes by Hiroki.

Hiroki doesn’t understand, for some reason she feels all warm. Maybe she’s just tired and feeling things that aren’t there…

Sorry for the short chapter this week! I kinda forgot it was Sunday and so it was a little rushed 😅

Chapter 7: CHAPTER VI

Summary:

They pack up and go to the beach, but a dark shadow comes over…

    The next morning they all woke up to Nejire screaming about going to the beach or something. “Come on guys, hustle up!” She yells as they’re all still wiping the sleep from their eyes. “What the hell is she telling about?” Akio asks Tamiki as they all meet downstairs. “I think she wants to go the…. Beach” he says with audible distain.

“Oh.. oh!” Akio perks up the second time, a small smile creeping onto her face. Hiroki stretched and sat down on the couch with a small plop. “So we’re going to the.. beach?” She says with a small hint of a laugh. She knew they would eventually, but she was also not the biggest fan of beaches. Thought I would give her a good excuse to show off her quirk.

“I say we all pack up and head out as soon as possible so we can got good seats!” Nejire squeals as she’s already halfway up the stairs. “Well, you heard the girl!”, Mirio says standing up and stretching, “Let’s get going!” And he heads to his room right behind Nejire.

Slowly and begrudgingly, Tamiki stands up and follows Mirio to their rooms. “Well, come on cutie~” Akio says reaching out a hand to help Hiroki up from the couch. A small blush covers Hiroki’s cheeks as she takes Akio’s hand, and she immediately lets go once she’s up.

After about 30 minutes they all had their swim suits on and towels ready. They cram into Nejire’s aunt’s car. Mirio driving, Tamiki in the passenger seat, Nejire in the middle row, and Akio and Hiroki in the back.

Everyone is chatting away while they drive to the beach. The drive isn’t long so they arrive at the beach in about 15 minutes. Mirio drops them off to find a spot on the beach while he tries to find parking.

Akio spots a nice empty spot pretty close to the shore and they set up there. Tamiki flags down Mirio eventually and they all put father towels and bags down. As they all lay in the sand and just chat, a dark shadow comes to loom over them… 

Chapter 8: CHAPTER VII

Summary:

The new friend introduced himself and chats with the main characters.

Notes:

Sorry for no chapter last week and a late chapter this week. I’ve been busy with school but I’m back now!

     The dark shadow smile as them and steps into the light. The has long fluffy hair that’s tied into a small and tight braid. He’s wearing a loose tank top in some blank shade of tan. Paired with swim trunks in an idiotic hue of neon blue.

“Hey ladies, what are girls like you doing on this beach? Never seen you here before.” He smirks as he looks down at Hiroki, Akio, and Nejire. Hiroki immediately jumps into defense mode, instinctively mocking her hand towards Akio. “Fuck off man, why do you care?” Hiroki asks in a hostile tone. Akio rests a hand on her shoulder and whispers, “Hey, clam down.” But not in a mean tone, more of a calming one.

“WOW wow, cmon don’t be so rude! I’m sorry about her~” Nejire says while shushing Hiroki. “No problem laddies. Can I sit? I’m Zale” He asks with a smug smile. “Why hello Zale, it’s nice to meet you!” Nejire says as she shakes his hand. He sits down and begins to chat with the girls. Then he notices Mirio and Tamiki talking nearby.

He jabs a finger at them and asks, “Are these two with you?” Akio look over at them, then back at Nejire and laughs. Akio stops laughing and answers, “Yeah they’re with us, but they’re basically just on a date~” Nejire snickers but in a loving way. “I see… So, do you ladies have quirks?” He asks, awkwardly changing the subject.

“I can cover myself in acid” Akio says, activating her quirk on her finger tip as a demonstration. “I can make hot and cold water” Hiroki says flatly. “My guiro is called Wave Motion” Nejire says, clapping her hands together.

“Sounds like some pretty powerful stuff.” He says, mentally noting all of the information. He changes the subject again and he chats with the girls for a while. 

Chapter 9: CHAPTER VIII

Summary:

They return from the beach and get a surprise on the tv..

     After about two hours on the beach, the newly made friends have to depart. “Well, it’s been just a blast girls.” Zale sighs as he stands up and brushes all the sand off him. He heads for the parking lot and gives the group one last parting wave. 

     “Wasn’t he just a charmer?” Nejire asks the other girls. “He’s something alright..” Akio says with a hint of suspicion. “Something bad…” Hiroki mumbles with a roll of her eyes. They all begin to pack up and the boys rejoin them with their stuff all packed up to. 

     “How was you guys’ beach day?” Mirio asks with his usual wide smile. “It was great Mirio! We even met a new friend!” Nejire exclaimed as she smiled up at Mirio. “Well, I think it’s time for us to head home!” Mirio says as they all start heading to the car.

     The car rode home was pretty quiet, everyone was pretty tired from the beach. Akio fell asleep on Hiroki’s shoulder, the bumping of the car pulling her to sleep. Hiroki was surprised at first, but in the end she ended up easing into it.  

     As they pull back up to the vacation house Hiroki gently wakes Akio up. “Hey.. wake up.” She whispers as she shakes Akio’s shoulder a bit. “Mmm… are we home already?” Akio asks, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “Yeah, c’mon..” Hiroki mumbles as she picks Akio up and out of the car. 

     By the time Hiroki and Akio finally got inside, everyone else was surrounding the TV.

     “You guys need to see this…”
