PenPal

Summary:

After over 2 years of waiting, today was the day he would finally meet him. Letters and letters and letters for years but he had never even seen his face before, at least not in person. The scene he imagined in his mind every day for months, spun in infinite directions during every free moment, was just in his grasp.
The large imposing building in front of him was where he would be meeting his boyfriend for the first time. He had finally arrived at the state prison.

From the Prompt:

Mark is finally ready to close the gap with his long distance boyfriend, Johnny. His family and friends are confused but elated - a shy awkward boy managed to find a man through a penpal situation of all things

Mark has not divulged, however, that Johnny was a prison penpal, and he’s picking him up from his long sentence between bars.

Notes:

This was a bit rushed ngl, got busy with life & such so I didn't have much time for my fanfics. I promise I will finish it eventually, but don't count on the updates being regular.

Chapter 1: Intro

Chapter Text

He felt so giddy the whole drive that focusing on the road was difficult. After over 2 years of waiting, today was the day he would finally meet him. Letters and letters and letters for years but he had never even seen his face before, at least not in person. The scene he imagined in his mind every day for months, spun in infinite directions during every free moment, was just in his grasp.

Today Mark would finally get his first kiss.

20 years old and never so much as kissed anyone, that’s the kind of life he had led. In his own defense though, romance often isn't really much of an option when you're a gay kid in a christian school.

Not that his parents were homophobic, not at all! They were thrilled when he announced he was flying out to meet with his long distance boyfriend, if a bit surprised. After all he had been a very awkward and shy kid growing up, so much so that he struggled to keep friendships together. Him having a boyfriend was a positive sign that maybe his social life wasn’t so doomed after all.

He was barely even paying attention to the road in front of him, too caught up in his head, so when a glance at his phone revealed he was nearly at his destination he nearly jumped in his seat. All daydreams suddenly vanished and were replaced by a mix of excitement and anxiety that left him feeling almost scared. As he pulled into the lot and looked up he was greeted by it.

The large imposing building in front of him was where he would be meeting his boyfriend for the first time. He had finally arrived at the state prison.
