Agatha ‘Aggie’ Viniegra grew up in Colombia. She, her parents and her sister lived during the Thousand Days War. It was a harsh time, where the family had to work hard to survive the gruesome circumstances, and the family had to rely to less then legal means to keep fed. Her family was very loving however and shielded Aggie from the worst of the aspects, as she was the youngest daughter.
However, despite being the youngest, Aggie was the first to die, she had gone out as another conflict began and she was a civilian causality in the crossfire. She would find herself at the pearly gates, as she has ascended to Heaven. It was nice for a while but she missed her family and began acting out. However, several Angels suggested activities she could use to take her mind of things, as she waited until er family could join her in heaven. Though that day never came even if the time should have passed enough for them to be there.
Aggie was full of anger and more questions and tried to work out that aggression but no activity in heaven was suited for that. Until she was approached by the First Man Adam. She was recruited in the Exorcists, where she could work out her violent tendencies and turn them towards something better. Exterminating sinners, like the monsters whom started the very war that made her life on Earth Hell. She got renamed Vaggie, as Adam stated that ‘he named her after the most awesome thing’.
During this time she got close to the angels Harper and Lute, whom were created to be exorcists. She and Lute had a friendly rivalry where Lute always one-upped but Aggie had come the closest to ever beating her but not quite. He other close friend and eventual girlfriend was Harper, an angel whom was actually soft-spoken and sweet and an actual pacifist whom didn’t like her role as an Exorcist, but it was what she was created for and went along.
The group were part of several exterminations. Harper was always a traumatized mess afterwards, Lute would admonish Harper for her weakness while praising Vaggie. Vaggie always stuck up for Harper, and Lute backed down every time she did but wasn’t happy she did. But Vaggie started to doubt the whole Exterminations business. Sure she was slaughtering sinners, those whom didn’t deserve to live but…it hit too close to home, her memories of war, and how she was like the very soldiers fighting, whom killed her.
Things came to a halt where Harper and Vaggie, during an extermination cornered a child in Hell. Neither wanted to kill that child. Adam and Lute didn’t like that. It ends with Adam and Lute killing Harper and leaving Vaggie for death, with one less eye and wings.
Vaggie would bury Harper and wander the streets of Hell for a while, utterly broken until she was picked up by Charlie, the princess of Hell herself, whom thought she was a sinner whom lost her love and her eye in the Exterminations. Vaggie didn’t do anything to contradict. Charlie nursed her wounds and took her in. While getting over Harper was hard, Charlie’s kindness and positivity were drawing her to Charlie like a moth to a flame. She would enter a relationship with Charlie, and became her bodyguard and greatest supporter; She would protect Charlie with her afterlife, like she couldn’t protect Harper.
TRIVIA
- Her moth motif is more prominent, both as a Winner and a Sinner with antenna, a retractable second pair of arms which she rarely uses (often for surprise attacks) and while her wings look bird-like upon closer look they have a fluffy, scaly texture like moth wings.
- She always had a passion for entomology, with an affinity for the Lepidoptera (genus of moths and butterflies). Hence she gained moth traits as a Winner and Sinner. She most resembles a Red Underwing moth (it matches her gray and red color scheme).
- Her favorite food in life were empanadas. She regrets that hell doesn’t have a place that gets them right.
- Unlike the cartoon she is human-born instead of an angel created for Exterminations. In fact Exterminators are composed of heavenborn, specifically created and Winners.
- Harper is the angel in the flashback of Vaggie’s time in heaven whom she was close with. Like Lute, she is named after a plucking string instrument, the harp.
- Lute in this universe was much friendlier to Vaggie in the past, so that Lute would take the betrayal of Vaggie more personally and show she is not all about violence and more of a loyal angel soldier whom takes her duty too far.
- Vaggie never thought it was the Angelic steel that allowed Adam and Lute to kill Harper, she thought that it was because they were more powerful angels.
