Chapter 1: bloodsucker, famefucker, bleedin' me dry like a goddamn vampire

Chapter Text

Penny was bitten by a baby bat when she was six years old, which turned her into the monster she is today.

Well, she's not sure if vampires are nice or not. But strange things started happening with her body, she had venomous fangs–she couldn't see her reflection in the mirror or she couldn't be in the sun for too long or she'd die.

She's been wearing the same pink pullover for a year and a half now, she's sick of taking blood pills and drinking blood bags, she wants to actually bite something or someone for once.

The students at Willy T Ribbs wouldn't stop bullying Penny for being so much different from them, until they actually see the monster whose hiding under her sweet-hearted demeanor.

The vampiress was incarnated, fucking vicious–over more than twenty kids were dead in the most brutal ways she could think of, all because they wronged her, and it was deserved.

The scratches on their necks were deep and ugly when the cops found the bodies hidden in the school's basement or storage closet, they couldn't find the person who did it because she's always lurking in the shadows, avoiding punishment from anyone.

The kids would get chills down their spine because of her shiny, bright crimson eyes–and those fangs, she loved terrorizing the shit out of people.

LaCienega was the first person to know about Penny's secret, and they kept it between them. She wouldn't dare to expose Penny, that'd be her least favorite thing to do even if she was bribed with money, she still wouldn't do it.

Dijonay's been reporting the missing bodies in the newspaper along with LaCienega and Penny, but all she can do was stay silent whenever the topic was brought up, she would always make up a lie, laugh or say nothing.

The moonlight landed on the two silhouettes that were in her bathroom, LaCienega offered to assist Penny with her hair since she's deciding to take it to the next level; meaning she's removing the childish pigtails, after she ruffled her hands through her curls, she couldn't stop staring at the snow outside, sighing with melancholy, “I wonder where those kids are?"

“In the ground.” Penny smiled evilly, nodding her head in satisfaction, “Great, well, that's twenty bodies added to my body count, they should've never bullied me, and I'm not even violent! It's the bat taking over me."

“You're scary…” Penny can hear the fear in LaCienega's voice but she shrugged it off, “I know, vampires are meant to be scary anyways, we're monsters.”

Penny hated getting up around 6:03AM, she could easily smell the cinnamon waffles that her mother always cooks specifically for her.

Penny retracted her fangs, she couldn't do the same for her eyes or skin–well, she still had the same skin complexion, just pale.

She chugged the apple juice down her dry throat before she gagged the strong scent of cinnamon getting into her nose, Trudy turned around and raised her eyebrow, “Are you okay, Penny?”

Think, Penny, think of a damn excuse.

“Sorry, the cinnamon scent is strong… it got in my nose and that's why I gagged–yeah.”

Terrible excuse but it'll have to do. She can't find out.

“Okay, well, you have twenty minutes to eat those waffles before we have to head out.” Trudy said casually, smiling warmly at Penny.

“Yes ma'am..” Penny said hoarsely, taking a deep exhale, after she finished the waffles she shoved a blood pill down her throat–hopefully her mother didn't see that, she walked out the house and threw her backpack over her shoulder lazily, as the car started moving, she thought of it again and nearly threw up, she didn't bother giving her mother a kiss or hug, she was irritated now.

Principal Hightower and some girl were heading to her direction now, she stopped and took a deep exhale, they were about to instigate her now since she was the last one to go.

After sinking her body into the leather chair in front of the Principal's desk, she cursed under her breath, praying that she doesn't start with—

“Do you know what happened to Samantha last Wednesday?”

Godammit

Penny shook her head, clearly lying to Miss Hightower but she didn't catch on, she was dumb, “No, I remember seeing her In art class, that's the last place I've seen her.”

Yeah, the last place she was actually taken to was the basement and I told her to shut that mouth of hers before she got demolished with two bite marks on her neck, so there's your answer.

Principal Hightower nodded, “Well I see you're telling the truth, we'll keep an extra eye on you though, Miss Proud.” Penny smiled innocently and waved her goodbye She that innocent smile dropped immediately when she heard the crying of Samantha's best friend.

Fucking dramatic

Before she could even get to art class, she was slammed into a locker by Jasmine–Samantha's friend, with a stern look in her eyes and her mouth was curved into a frown, “You're a liar! You're the one responsible for the kids dying around here!”

“I'm not, the police didn't check the bodies with the UV light box as they were supposed to, so technically they're the ones responsible for not checking the scratches or DNA.” Penny shrugged along with the white lie she just told, she's very manipulative furthermore it gets her out of trouble every time. She uses it as a skill and not out of habit, totally normal for the vampiress.

“Oh, sorry for accusing you so harshly.”

“It's fine.”

Art class was chaotic, Penny nearly dropped the whole can of red paint and almost got sent to the Principal's office. history class was way worse than art, they had to write a ten page paragraph on “Which parent inspires you the most?” Penny forgot to do that, but Brother Kwame luckily gave her a C+ for attendance.

After that the whole day was a drag, she was exhausted.

LaCienega noticed the faint eyebags under her eyes the next day and she was concerned, don't all vampires sleep in the day then hunt at night? Maybe she's the opposite, Penny hunts her victims during inconvenient times and it's fun to do.

It's easy to drink them dry and slaughter them afterwards, watching their bodies thrash and plead for Penny not to kill them, she does it anyway.

She's heartless and overpowered until the hunters get involved, yeah, vampire hunters exist, she's not gonna let them get away alive–she's massacring them one-by-one if she has to.

“Are you okay?” LaCienega asked her softly and it snaps her out of her sadistic trance, her hands are in her pocket and she nods her head, she really wants to break someone's neck or bite them for some reason.

Well, if she could vanish right now and complete her desire and not get caught–that'll be twenty-two bodies added to the list.

“I need to get my hands dirty.” She says straightforwardly, leaning against her locker while rolling her eyes, "I haven't gotten them dirty since the last one died so fast, I didn't even get to– am I creeping you out?”

“Yeah.”

“Sorry.”

It's 12:03AM on her phone and she's walking, the snow crunching below her feet felt satisfying, her hoodie was off and fangs bared, she's gonna have to take out an innocent bystander by telling them that she's a lost little girl and kill them afterwards,  works every time.

She's squinting her eyes while hiding behind a wall and can't see anything but a black cloak and high heels–she couldn't tell if the lady is a vampire like her or not.

Penny felt something tugging on the back of her hood–she's being dragged, she couldn't scream at all, the palm that was covering her mouth were creating moon crested dents in her cheek and she couldn't breathe at all, you'd think her oxygen tank was cut off.

So, after showing up in the middle of the woods, Penny managed to get away before something in her arm snapped–her wrist was broken, she didn't know how it happened, but it felt like her bone dislocated itself from her hand and it hurts so bad.

She woke up in a cell with bars blocking her way, she felt drugged for some reason.

Penny tried to remember what the hell happened last night, she feels a bruise on her leg and arm, the floor beneath her feet felt cold like steel.

Now she can't barely breathe and her ribcage feels sore, who the fucked kidnapped her?

She's trying to break the bars but they're making her palms redder than her eyes.

Three hours passed and she breaks the glass window with her knuckle that was split open and blood is dripping down the snowy path she's running in.

Penny's right hand is completely submerged in crimson liquid and she stops, she might get frostbite if she kept standing there like a dumbass.

Seven hours and she's back at home, climbing up a tree trunk and going rolling-head-first into your room wasn't fun.

The cold water made her skin frigid but she didn't care, at least the bleeding stopped and the cuts were disinfected and wrapped nicely in white cloth by herself, nobody was home and she felt bored out of her mind.

It's 5:03PM and she's heading downstairs for a drink until she forgot to retract her fangs, luckily she did before her mother, who'd got home from work, asked her a question.

“What happened to your hand?”

“A cat scratched me.” Shd lied, hopefully manipulation works on adults too–it worked well with Jasmine so maybe it'll go like that with her mother.

“Oh, well you did well wrapping your hand up.”

“Mhm.”

She grabbed the bottle of juice and goes back upstairs, and she's trying to find that one vampire book she kept hidden for years; it's under her bed and she's looking through the page that's about how supernatural they are, having strong strength, super speed, strong scent… and hypnosis?

Maybe she'll have extra fun with the hypnosis, considering what she can do with the victims and make them do her dirty work for her.

Never know what you're capable of.

Chapter Text

“How long does it take for the venom to get injected into their veins?” Penny asked her mentor as she watched her drink his blood dry, they're in the forest and some of the victims had hidden somewhere, but they'll be found easily.

She's watching how he's begging her to stop–and he's thrashing and gargling up his own blood, and the body fell into the snow, now getting buried by her mentor's bloodied hands.

“It takes three seconds, and their veins start embodying outside of their skin.”

Three seconds? Weak

“Dully noted, I never got your name ethier…”

“Most people call me Amanda.” So her mentor's name is Amanda, and she nods silently, she didn't even ask why she killed the man right in front of her like this; it was creepy but an amazing sight to see, maybe the sadistic thoughts  overtaking her brain, she'll usually be traumatized with seeing a dead body but this time she's cool with it.

“Mhm, why did you– do I even wanna know why you kidnapped me at 12am?”

“I needed a younger vampiress to do my dirty work for me, so get used to seeing dead bodies because you'll be demolishing a lot. You've done that before, right?” Penny looked away, pulling her hood over her curls.

“Twenty times to be exact, they harassed me. I did nothing wrong, they just pushed a few buttons, that's all.”

“So you can kill, kiddo?”

Penny looked at her confusedly, “It depends on the situation. I don't kill for… fun.”

“Vengeance?” Amanda asked with curiosity in her voice.

“If that's what you wanna call it.”

“Hm, we'll make a great pair.” Penny nodded solemnly while retracting her fangs, she wasn't attacking anything and it's about to drive her insane, she wants to see the fear in their eyes, the sweet screams escaping their mouths; the blood is always the best part. It's disgusting and delicious at the same time.

She really needs fucking help.

Penny suspected that new girls transferred to their school not too long ago, they seemed like a mean girls group, typical wannabes.

Do they even realize that a vampire is running the school and mostly all the students are afraid of her? Oh, they just don't know that this could be their last day attending here before they're locked in the basement until the police get involved.

The first class of the day was gym, and she didn't have a choice but to go. After changing into her uniform, as she walks to the bleachers, she saw those girls from earlier picking on LaCienega, she has tears in her eyes.

Penny immediately bared her fangs and dragged Sarah by her wrist and slammed her head into the wall, she's looking scared and Penny's pissed off, “Speak. Which one of your minions made her cry?”

“I- I- I don't know!”

“If you don't tell me in the next five seconds I will end you here and now.” Penny crossed her arms while Sarah was still shaking with fear.

Five.

“It- I- don't-”

Four.

"You have three fucking seconds.”

Two–

“I don't know!–” Before she could get the answer out, Penny bared her fangs into the side of her neck. The harder the girl cried, the deeper Penny harshly went, she can see her veins overtaking her skin now, she pulled her fangs out and her lips are stained with blood.

Sarah coughed up blood, “You psychopath!” That was the final words of her victim before she dropped dead, literally; good news is her body count is at twenty-one. bad news is that she'll have to make it seem like an accident.

She wiped all the extra resistance of blood and retracted her fangs, LaCienega was back in her normal state, she didn't have to ask "what happened?" because she knows how Penny vanishes in red smoke.

“How many bodies now?”

“Twenty-one, I really wanted to use hypnosis.”

“Use it on Valerie because she's heading to the girls’ bathroom."

Penny appears in front of her like wind, she stopped and took her behind the bleachers and slammed her against the wall–same process as last time. Bite them with poisoning, watch them thrash and beg while under submission, see the veins start embodying, go on with your day.

Penny reappeared in the same spot as she was, sitting down and drumming her fingers, “Make that twenty-two.”

Get used to seeing dead bodies. Get used to seeing dead bodies. Get used to seeing dead fucking bodies, Penelope–

She tells herself over and over in her mind, she's trying to sleep in the comfort of her own home but that feels sickening  to her stomach, she couldn't sleep after seeing Amanda ripping that man's head off so... easily.

She's getting sick of doing her dirty work–she wanted to get her hands dirty, technically she did by killing two enemies and leaving one sheep in the barn, but that poor sheep, aka Jasmine won't be breathing, especially if she's seen with LaCienega or Dijonay, or anyone.

She's tossing and turning, she can't sleep. After eight minutes of drinking blood bags back-to-back, she's completely drowsy and numb in the mouth, at least she has twenty-three bags left and three bottles of pills, she's okay.

But her parents can't find out about her secret or the killing sprees–not yet.

She'll confess whenever the time is right, It's a secret between her and LaCienega only.

Art class was boring, everyone had to be paired up, and of course Penny got paired up the brat named Elizabeth Jones–what she doesn't know is that two of her friends are dead and gone.

Nobody checked the girls’ bathroom in the gym and nobody checked behind the bleachers, they did get a smell of the rotted bodies but they were taken down to the police department for investigation, luckily Penny had no partake in killing them, that's what she'll tell them.

“You smell bad.” Penny can feel her right eye twitching, she's trying her hardest not to take out this poor girl in front of the teacher and her students, so she composes herself in the calmest way possible.

“That's probably your breath.”

“You little–” Elizabeth tried to choke her until she got ahold on her elbow and twisted it there was no tomorrow. To finish her off, she decided to get her sent to the Principal's office for harassment, the fake tears came in handy with every situation like this.

Penny didn't feel nothing but a smile, a fucked up smile appearing on her face until she went back to working on watercolor assignment, which she got an A+, but lunch was right after this class so she might have to skip out or ask for blood; or go kill Elizabeth in the basement.

So, Penny walked into the Cafeteria and Elizabeth was eyeing her, and not in a good way, she rolled her eyes and went to her table with her friends, most of them were eating and she wasn't.

Zoey did offer her two or three chicken nuggets and she was still hungry after that, she pouted sadly and put her head down on the table until Dijonay slid her tray of chicken nuggets to Penny, “You can stop whining, you have food now.”

LaCienega's voice interrupted the silence, she looked at the twelve nuggets placed in front of her and she ate them within seconds, and slid a blood pill in her mouth too.

LaCienega and Dijonay were all over Penny's house for a sleepover, or meeting, whatever it was Penny was getting anxious, and her head felt sore at everything they discussed so far, and possibly twenty juice boxes were sacrificed as they sat in silence what seemed like forever, Dijonay spoke, “So, Penny's a vampire? Weren't they extinct at some point?”

“They never existed.” Penny deadpanned, staring at Dijonay casually.

“So how did you get bit then?!”

“It happened when I was exploring in this bat cave at the age of six and then a baby bat bit me, then my fangs staring growing at nine–”

“What about your eyes?”

“My parents don't question it, or they don't ask why my skin is paler than usual.”

LaCienega reads over the page that's about hypnosis, she's never seen Penny do it and she wants to experiment with it for fun, “Oh! What about hypnosis? Have you ever hypnotized someone before!?”

“I can show you how, but I'm warning you… this could snap you into a long-lasting trance, so I might have to be gentle with you.” Penny took a deep exhale, grabbing both of her hands and locked eyes with her.

“You're gonna be fine, the trance only lasts for twenty seconds, you'll feel your chest light as a feather, you'll feel sleepy.” Penny said in a persuasive, collective voice.

She can see LaCienega's eyes going red without actually having to see them, Dijonay sat in shock with chips in her mouth, stunned.

Thirteen seconds.. I might as well release her now, wait what the fuck–

LaCienega opened her eyes wider than expected, she held her chest raising up-and-down lightly as Penny described, her cheeks started to turn red and she stared at Penny, still in shock, “I could hear you in my head without actually hearing you whispering… how is that possible?!”

“This is better than Twilight.” Dijonay said from the side with a smirk, “Me next! Can I go next?!”

Penny looked at Dijonay sympathetically, “I can't, sorry D, if I hold the trance for longer than twenty seconds, that can make that person go feral and make them go under that person's commands without actually hearing them in person.”

“So, they're basically hearing voices without being able to see that specific person in their head?”

“Looks like you losers know a lot about vampire culture, I'm proud.” Penny smirked, rolling her eyes, “You've been paying attention in what, history class?”

“Duh, Penelope.” LaCienega rolled her eyes playfully.

“Do not call me that again.”

“My bad." After that experiment, they went to sleep. It took Penny quite a few beats to doze off but she eventually fell asleep.

Chapter Text

“What's up with you?”

The vampiress stood dumbly and motionlessly, the Latina had fierce in her eyes as she stared down her Cheetah Girl inspired outfit, her eyes shining warmth brown; if that's even a color. “Well, go on, answer me, Proud.” Penny stayed silent for at least five seconds until her feet shifted into stumbling and nearly knocked down before LaCienega caught her lower waist, her bandmate looked at her with slight contrast of concern, “You're tripping on your own feet.” LaCienega said, her voice teasing and amused with the girl's sudden newfound clumsiness, and she laughed; “No more amateurs to feed on?”

“Shut up.” Penny can feel her frigid slender fingers making dents in her sides, a hushed, pained groan was heard but it was inwardly, the tension was thick, awkward, and amplifying–if Penny could sink her canines without getting trickles of blood on their clothes and without getting caught–she would do it one-hundred percent. After they stayed in that position for twenty seconds, Dijonay pulled the curtain and startled them both, and was still not moving from that position.

“If you two idiots would stop yearning, we would have thousands of people waiting for us to perform!” And with that, LaCienega's hands departed forcefully from her waist, now shrugging, “We have to show them we're LPDZM! We're brilliant, smart and intelligent popstars! We can do–” Penny's migraine started to pound against her forehead, but she still tried to listen to the Latina's encouraging words; but as she kept going, her vision is slowly getting blurry around the corners of her eyes–her mouth is throbbing and it felt dry as a desert would be in 90° degrees heat. As she could barely stand, the cold wind made her feel at ease as she stood in her position onstage.

The lyrics are starting to make her short-lived migraine come back from the dead and she can't take anymore, after two seconds of the song finally ending, her face hits the ground and so did her body, okay, most of the crowd took it as some sick joke and her friends, especially LaCienega was already rushing her back into the little resting area, Maya quickly turned on the two fans that were blowing cool air on Penny's overheated body, LaCienega removed her jacket and she was left in a cutoff sleeveless shirt–everyone went to go play on the rides while she had to babysit Proud. Seconds felt like hours, hours felt like weeks; was Penny ever gonna wake up? After feeling something–or someone slinging their arm around her neck, it was Penny, she woke up while wiping her sweaty forehead.

“Shit, did I pass out?” LaCienega lifted her limp body and sat her in her lap, if she didn't think about it like that, maybe it wouldn't be so weird after all; but when did Penny look so adorable with flyaway strands sticking to her forehead like glue? Penny eventually furrowed her eyebrows confusedly, “What the fuck–” She made a strangled groaning sound like she was stabbed in the heart, the Latina jumped and held her close like a newborn baby, “W-woah! Are you okay?!”

“Fine.” Penny blushed, “It's 90° degrees and I'm fucked. I haven't had blood in two weeks tops, you're lucky I ain't dead.” It might have seemed like she was joking when she said that but she wasn't, her fangs were throbbing intensely and she couldn't beg to differ with the pain, LaCienega already knew what the puppy dog eyes meant now, I wanna bite your neck. And she unapologetically bared her neck for just Penny alone, and she looked up at Penny, who was scared that she might bite her too hard or too rough, so for the first time in her life, she asked softly, “May I?”

“Go ahead.” Penny dug her fangs into her flesh and she squirms just a little before the vampiress went deeper, her hands wrapped around her throat as she looked like she was about to strangle her–which she would never do. LaCienega winced as her teeth were still in, she didn't wanna pull them out, don't spoiled girls deserve to be punished? Not really. LaCienega hadn't done anything wrong but antagonize her as much and make smart insults about her and the final bite was painful, she nearly screamed as she heard blood splenching and it leaks through her jacket flawlessly and Penny applied pressure with her hand, counting down to ten to one–and fuck, the blood isn't stopping, so Penny grabbed a piece of gauze and placed on the wounded spot, “I might have hurt you…” And she felt nothing but a pang of pooling guiltiness in her stomach, the brown-skinned girl rolled her eyes playfully, “You're fine, you didn't hurt me that bad.”

“But you winced.” Penny said in a whispered, panicked voice, and once again, the Latina doesn't care about how dangerous this girl is, how scary she may looked, how many people have been murdered, she'll still care for Penny either way, there's a thin red rope leaving them at the hip; so who gave a fuck if LaCienega's almost caught dead, and who gives a fuck if Penny's the one who killed her? Regardless, they're still friends, even if the darkened truth slips out faster than expectedly, Dijonay comes. Jaw slacked. She looked at Penny's stained mouth, “What the–”

“Dijonay! I–” Penny stammered, tripping over her own words, “It's not w-what it looks like! I just got thirsty and I- I-”

“You're sick.” Dijonay told her and yanked LaCienega away from the beast, “Feeding off your own best friend? What's wrong with you?!” Her words cut through Penny's heart like sharpening blades, until she realized she didn't wipe her mouth just in time, and LaCienega's staring at her sympathetically, and she gives the same look, she could cry right now but she's a vampire, she should be threatening Dijonay's life right now.

“Cat's got your tongue?” She's still taunting, still playing with fire, not realizing what Penny's capable of, and she knows about Penny's secret, so why is she standing here and not ratting her out as any other sane person would do?

“Calm down, Dijonay, she's just–”

“What? She's just what? A sicko?” Dijonay challenged, her voice unwavering with assumptions, “She's a filthy monster! You have blood over your shirt, and she's the only one with fangs! So who else could've bitten you? Now you're going to be just like her.”

Penny chuckled darkly, “Good, then she can be my girlfriend and we plan world domination.” Then, she's face-to-face with the blonde, “Call me sick again and watch what happens. Just because we're Besties Before Birth doesn't mean I won't hesitate to have you massacred.” She finishes with a sadistic smile, and now patting her head as if she were a lost dog.

Dijonay lollygagged before leaving the area with tears in her eyes, LaCienega stayed silent, but she gave Penny a hug and a kiss, “I'll see you in school tomorrow, mi amor?”

“Y-yeah.”

Dijonay stared at Penny's skull as she sat in the further back of Kwame's class, her blood running cold when she remembered those words that made her shiver and did not wanna come to school today.

I won't hesitate to have you massacred.

I won't hesitate to have you massacred.

I won't hesitate–

Fuck, she hears Kwame asking if she's okay, doesn't widening eyes and slacked jaw looked okay? She just gave a weak thumbs-up and the sound of the bell ringing made her jump. After she walked through the halls, Maya looked at her with concern, “Yo, Dijonay, are you okay? You look terrified sista.”

“Well– do you believe in fantasies and mythology?” Dijonay explained in one breath, “You might not even believe me but Penny's a vampire.”

“What? Is this a Twilight reference that I didn't get?” Zoey cluelessly added, "If LaCienega's Bella, who's Edward?”

“Penny's Edward!” Dijonay explained angrily, “They remind me of Twilight all over again and it's driving me crazy!”

“Well, how do we know if Penny's an actual vampire?” Maya raised her eyebrow and Dijonay sighs heavily, “Can't you just look up what vampires hate on Google? I'm not an expert at this crap.” Maya nods, “Okay, do we tell LaCienega to meet us at my house?”

“Whatever you prefer.”

For some reason they have a fucking ouija board–candles are lit and LaCienega's staring at Maya with a look that's like, confused, she's squeezing Dijonay's hand for solace as Maya continued to ramble with vampire related questions, Her eyes darted to the candle, then back to board, the same cycle repeated until the serious question is announced.

Has Penny killed more than twenty-three people?

Well, the answer's remotely gonna be twenty-three, she hasn't had blood in two weeks tops, yeah she remembered those words, she has an eidetic memory like Dijonay has–it's weird but it's a blessing all at once. The board says No and LaCienega lets out a long exhale that she didn't know that she was holding–she stepped outside of Maya's house and her supernatural girlfriend appeared out of nowhere as she jumped, “You scared me!”

“Is Dijonay still mad?”

“Yup.”

“Godammit.” Penny groaned, putting her hands in her pockets, “Why are you at Maya's home at 2am?” Her voice dripped with tenderness, she looked at her softly, “And why do you look scared?”

“Maya knows your secret.”

“What the fuck–”

chapter title ⤵
Nico Collins – Don't Wake Me Up

damn I wasn't expecting to double upload? well here it is! a lot of things happen in this chapter it HAS to be my favorite one.

Chapter Text

Everybody knows that Penny's supernatural. What a way to bite the bullet, as she stared back at her reflection in the mirror of her own bathroom, she can't stop staring. Those piercing red eyes, her smirk that could kill someone's kindness, as she played with one of her curls, she thought about yesterday. Does Dijonay even consider her as a friend? An acquaintance? A soulmate? It's dreading in her head, what do Maya, Zoey and Michael think of her? Trick question.

She stared deeply at herself, her deep wave curls bouncing around within every movement, her mouth being very animated and her peachy lips–she's turning into another person, a vampire; she's getting paler and paler every day. If walking on eggshells was an Olympic game, she'd be in first place. All her life she's been hiding who she actually was. She glimpses at the photo with her and her crew and she can't see her reflection–but she can see herself in some mirrors, weird.

She's back in that little jail cell. Again. Amanda caught her off guard and basically kidnapped her again. She's not about to keep getting her hands dirty, who wants to kill an innocent bystander on a Friday night? She screamed as the needle was sunken into her fangs, they were injected with venom, which Penny couldn't stand, after at least three shots, she felt drugged–she couldn't even move, after she pressed her knees against her chest, she realized that this is where she'll die now. Her hands were clenched and she looked more violent, more viscous and hungrier. Penny was able to break the chains that were restricting her, Amanda's bodyguards were ripped apart, decapitated, bitten and laid to rest brutally.

“You little psychopath!” Amanda's back is being pressed in the hardwood floor as Penny growled beastly, and before she could even process it, her mentor was gladly dead, she did a triumph smile and she escape the cottage without looking back and she managed to come home covered in blood head-to-toe, Trudy and Oscar opened the door and their eyes widened, and Penny feels bad. Real bad.

“What in God's name happened?!” Trudy lifted her head up and she cried, “I'm… Ma, Daddy? I'm basically supernatural. They say vampires don't exist but here I am, cold-blooded.” Trudy looked at Oscar sympathetically, “I think she's telling the truth… Suga Mama, what do you say?”

“I say y’all better love my grandbaby, it doesn't matter what kind of condition she's in.” Penny grinned widely and wiped her eyes, “Thank you, Suga Mama.”

Penny groggily washed herself off with cold water, the blood slipped off her body easily, she finally felt freedom for once. But she felt small again as she looked at that photo with tears in her eyes. If someone gave her a weightless pen to rewrite her life with no limited time–she would. After waking up at five o'clock in the morning, she takes a cold shower again, there's no need for hot water cause it'll probably leave red blotches and sores on her skin.

Art class was surprisingly peaceful, nobody bothered her today, but the first few days of school people have been bullying her restlessnessly and showing no mercy, she even had an eye gash that had to be covered up with an eyepatch in third grade back at Pickett. At least those memories are thrown away into some void point in her brain, she removes her blue gloves and showed her art teacher her project for today and she got an A+ as usual, most kids thought it was favoritism but it's actually manipulation and hypnosis at once. Do they know that? Once again, trick question.

At lunch they had spaghetti and meatballs, everyone was chattering at the table and Penny didn't eat anything but her leftover chocolate bar stuffed in her pocket, it seems like today was going by slowly, and she's staring at Elizabeth–the same little brat who threatened to choke her out, her fangs are already bared and she slams the helpless girl into the wall and did her dirty work–the veins didn't take that long to embody her skin and face, to finish her off, she stomped her foot down into her spine until it snapped and threw her body in the basement.

That's twenty-four now.

Dijonay knew that she wasn't tripping out. Even LaCienega caught the whiff of something burned and rotten like deviled eggs, but standing in front of the storage closet with flashlights felt like a horror movie with them co-starring. The stairs felt unstable and squeaky, LaCienega sat on the top of the step and kept her light on Dijonay, she probably spotted more bodies and dried up blood than the Latina, but they'll never know that.

“You okay?”

“It smells like shit down here.” Dijonay had her shirt covering her nose to prevent the godawful pungent scent, her flashlight spotted a dirty box with old potions–they aren't sanitary to even consume or inhale. LaCienega shifted down the steps and also saw the box, the words "do not drink" were written in sharpie–the red marker and not the black one, they have their brains to think positively but the outcome will be negative. There's a fifty-fifty percent chance that she'll eventually pop out and scare them for fun, or not for fun, it'll be just like a horror movie, as mentioned.

Dijonay wasn't expecting to be screaming. LaCienega was on the floor with her face being squished into the cold floor stained with blood, she's struggling and can barely breathe, “Let– me– go!” Dijonay had a screwdriver in her hand, literally. The monster's back is seen in a familiar red cardigan, and Dijonay impulsively kicks the vampire in her stomach as she groans in pain, LaCienega's nose is bleeding for some reason.

“Fuck Dijonay!” LaCienega flashed her light onto Penny as she held her stomach, her heart pounding against her sternum–all of their hearts were.

“Penny?!”

“What the fuck are you doing down here!?” LaCienega questioned, and she notices the girl's dried bloodied hands, then Dijonay also takes a look. This was getting weird and weirder.

“I just murdered someone.” They could tell by her bloody lips and her teeth were stainless, but she even smiled warmly when she saw Dijonay in a–

Nevermind.

There's one question though.

“Are you still mad at me, D?” At this point, Dijonay can just suck it up and face the truth. Her best friends are immortal and can't die for shit, unless it comes to their weaknesses. A beat of silence and she kind of smiled and chuckled, “No. I'm not… it's just weird to me.”

And she kept going. “It's weird how you two aren't dead, or undead.”

“We can't die.” Penny said deadly, like, creepy. And LaCienega shivered, “Let's get out of this basement before I throw up.”

They're trying out new foods. Zucchini with Taki powder was a safety hazard. Dijonay has got to stay off Holla'gram by coming up with weird shit like this.

They're watching Barbie movies and if they fuck up Penny's sheets it's bye-bye for them. This feels like a weird polygamous date and Penny's the little spoon, that's a weird thing.

“One more movie!” Dijonay yelled loud enough to bust Penny's eardrums, but she felt even more weirder and giddy because LaCienega's snuggling right below her chest, her head resting on her stomach, eyes wide open. Penny kissed her forehead, I love you to the moon and back.

LaCienega whispered back, “Love you too.”

“Get a room, Jesus!” Dijonay pretended to be sick in the stomach just to annoy Penny once again. The childish bantering doesn't stop here though, not in this friendship.

Her fangs are throbbing again. And she stands in the bathroom with LaCienega allowing her neck to be fed on, she didn't mind it, Penny was gentler with her this time. No apologies were even needed except for Dijonay barging in the bathroom saying that she had to pee.

Can she get ruinous with the Latina for once without any distractions?

Huh.

It's been nine days and Penny hasn't gone haywire or insane, she's actually the calmest she's ever been, Dijonay has told her to meditate and she's doing so. LaCienega offered her therapy sessions but fuck therapy.

She doesn't need it anymore. Not anymore after she realized that she's officially gone. She's gone away physically, in the woods. In some labyrinth after she openly admitted that she's insane. The paths are an endless circle by the way.

LaCienega and the others don't know how she went missing but a note that read: I'm not coming back from wherever I am. Love you guys :)

That along with the bloody handprint on the paper left LaCienega concerned, like, mega concerned.

What has Penny gotten herself into?
