Chapter 1: Chapter one
Chapter Text
Yooyeon flipped through the pages of her text book, pencil in hand, notebook open and perfect notes were written on the pages. Her ears intently listening to the conversations her friends were whispering beside her. "And then she swung her leg between his legs." A snort was held in, other bodies jerked in silent laughter, a smack of a hand hitting a shoulder was also heard.
Yooyeon looked up at her friends that were clearly dying of silent laughter, looking a little confused at them. "He so deserved it, he's been pestering her for months! I can't imagine his pain." Kotone whispered as she smacked her thigh while laughing. "I heard that he might even be wearing a cast because she kicked him too hard. I even think he lost his ability to reproduce." Another round of laughter came around. Some wincing, others snorting.
Yooyeon shook her head and looked down at the textbook again, but then a soft smack to her shoulder grabbed her attention again. "Isn't Seoyeon in your fourth period?" Yooyeon blinked and nodded, the whole friend group scooting closer to her, as if she was about drop the deepest lore. "Is it true then, that she's snappy and feisty, and that she genuinely wants to kill all men?" Lynn was the one to ask and Yooyeon frowned. "I don't know?" Jiwoo groaned and poked Yooyeon's forehead for not being nosey enough.
Well, it was the truth. Yooyeon didn't pay much attention to her surroundings. She was there to learn and that was right about it. She doesn't even remember who's the person that sits next to her in that almost two hour long class. But she does recall slightly that Seoyeon is in her class and sits towards the front and in her line of sight.
"She's just there? She does her work and rolls her eyes at any male that looks at her for a second too long, or attempts having a conversation with her." And a snap of fingers came from Nakyoung. "I'm telling you she hates men." She said and everyone turned to look at her, including Yooyeon. "What? It's my best theory! Do none of you remember how she swung at Sungho for breathing too close to her?" And the group broke into laughter again.
Yooyeon didn't pay them much mind, though her mind a little curious. Seoyeon had always been known to be moody in some way, she definitely had a short temper and it made her snap a lot. She's an omega with a personality that blares through her nature. Making her different from the rest of the omegas that usually caved in to what they were. Seoyeon never did, instead she made the alphas submit to her. It was either her way or no way.
In Yooyeon's humble opinion, Seoyeon was scary. Someone who Yooyeon knew to not even look at or she would get something swung between her legs. That didn't sound fun enough or even worth it.
Though an alpha, Yooyeon never really acted like one. She was calm and never gave in to her alpha tendencies. She wasn't fierce or dominant, she had never once gotten into a fight compared to her alpha friends that are definitely the typical alphas but also in some way aren't so typical. Never has anyone in that friend group physically disrespected an omega before. That would cross a line of boundaries.
Yooyeon may be quiet but she was definitely a picky person with who she hanged around with. She made sure she hanged around people that wouldn't do anything to hurt or cause trouble to anyone weaker than them, if anything her friends stand up for omegas and even joined a club to teach alphas on what to do around them. Yooyeon finds the club helpful, it teaches them about the omega system and how they could help them when scared or in danger.
The only omega in the friend group was Chaeyeon, and it showed how much trust Jiwoo had in her friends. Knowing that they would never do anything to hurt her girlfriend in any manner since they were all alphas.
"But do we not remember her kicking Ryujin's ass for trying to flirt with her?" Nakyoung frowned, her theory visibly being thrown to the trash. "I think she just hates anyone trying to get with her, or maybe just hates everyone and only loves herself like a narcissistic and self-centered little b—"
Jiwoo's words were cut short by her girlfriend's hand covering her mouth quickly. Panicked eyes pointing at the entrance of the library. Everyone's head whipped to the side and mouths swung open at seeing who had walked in. Yooyeon was the last to turn to look, eyes landing on Seoyeon that descended the stairs with fierce eyes.
She was almost magical. Unreal.
There was something almost raw about her if you squinted just enough, but Yooyeon had always seen it clearly. Everyone knew her for her defensive mechanism, but Yooyeon saw someone entirely different. She just couldn't exactly pinpoint anything exactly. Seoyeon was a lot of things if she was honest.
Seoyeon's hair was recently dyed blonde, her school uniform ironed to perfection, expensive jewelry and shoes, and her eyes piercing through everything and everyone she looked at. It took no genius to figure out that she came from a wealthy family. That she was on top of the school's ranking chain. No one ever dared to mess with her (beside the dumb alphas) knowing that she'd knock them out if they did. Or maybe even land a kick to the pearls if you're a guy too close to her.
Seoyeon wasn't a bully, she was just...Seoyeon.
Captain of the cheer team, which adds to her reputation around the school, she's also smart, falling right behind Yooyeon. It wasn't a competition for first place, Yooyeon is sure that Seoyeon doesn't even know of her existence and was just getting the grades she needed to impress.
Yooyeon was the first to look away, not wanting to accidentally make eye contact with her and be a new target to one of Seoyeon's kicks. She could hear her friends rambling about Seoyeon but she didn't pay them much mind, going back to studying as if the school's it girl wasn't in the same library as her, sitting at the end of the table with her school stuff out. Clearly there to study.
She wasn't even sure about how much time had passed when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked over and saw Sohyun looking at her softly. "Are you staying back?" She asked and Yooyeon quickly nodded. "Ms. Jeon left an extra writing assignment and I want to get it done so that I can have some time for myself on the weekend." She said and Sohyun nodded.
"Are you guys leaving?" Yooyeon turned to the group that nodded. "I have to go to soccer practice." Kaede said, biting into an apple that came out of nowhere. "And Jiwoo and I have basketball practice." She then looked at the rest of them figuring that they just want to go home. "Can I ask for a favor?" And the group instantly knew what she was going to ask.
"I'm heading straight home, I'll pick Soomin up and take her back home for you." Hayeon said and Yooyeon gave her a grateful nod. "Hey, I'm going home too, let's go get ice cream, she'd love it!" Nien said standing up excitedly as she wrapped an arm around Hayeon who nodded.
Entrusting her little sister to her friends was the biggest sign of trust that Yooyeon had for them. Knowing that they all saw her like a little sister and would baby her every chance they got. Nakyoung even gifted her a console for her birthday last year. Lynn even gave her a shark plushie since she's her favorite. And she also knew they'd defend her with their lives.
She watched as her friends started to get up one by one. Nakyoung giving her a tight hug, Jiwoo throwing a paper ball at her, and the rest of them waving at her like little children as they walked away. Yooyeon turned to the direction they left, watching as they pushed each other around playfully. They were all dummies but that was her family.
And in her line of sight, Yooyeon caught Seoyeon that seemed to have fallen asleep with her laptop open, Yooyeon looked around, noticing that the sun had started to set. She looked back at Seoyeon before a gush of cold air hit, she winced while still looking at the sleeping woman at the end of the table. Yooyeon doesn't think twice, ever. She stood up and headed to where Seoyeon was, despite the words spreading about her, Yooyeon knew she was just fighting for survival in a world where she was supposed to be weak and inferior.
She secretly admired Seoyeon for who she is and the way she carries herself. Being an omega wasn't easy, and Yooyeon will forever applaud her for standing up for herself in every situation. Not allowing none of the stupid alphas—yes, including herself—to hurt her in any way.
Yooyeon now stood behind her, slowly taking off her jacket and placing it over Seoyeon gently to not wake her up. Once Seoyeon's back and head was covered with her jacket she reached into her pocket and took out a candy and placed it beside Seoyeon's arm that was on the table, and closing her laptop as well so that the battery doesn't run out. Giving her one last look, Yooyeon headed back to her spot, feeling cold but knowing she did a good thing for someone else.
And it was then that she decided that Seoyeon could keep her jacket if she doesn't wake up by the time Yooyeon needs to leave, she has many more at home anyway. She gave Seoyeon one last glance before submerging herself into her textbook without end.
Not knowing how that simple action was going to change everything.
Chapter 2: Chapter two
Chapter Text
Seoyeon was woken up.
Not by a tap, not by a voice either. Not by the cold air that surrounded the library at this hour.
Instead,
A scent.
A strong scent that filled her nose that it almost hurt.
Not any kind of scent, an alpha's scent. It was strong, almost overwhelming in a way that it made the omega in her want to fight back instantly. She doesn't appreciate an alpha trying to overpower her. Ever.
She sat up abruptly, a low but defensive growl slipped her lips as she looked around. But to her surprise the library was empty, beside the librarian that was looking at her from where she stood confused and annoyed. Seoyeon quickly looked away, the scent still strong as ever.
Seoyeon doesn't recall anything, she was studying and then she just passed out on the question of quadratic equations. And that's when she finally felt something wrapped around her, she grabbed it and tugged it off harshly. She frowned, noticing that it was a jacket. What the—it wasn't hers.
Seoyeon looked around again before bringing the jacket to her nose out of habit to try and pinpoint who it belonged to, if it even belonged to someone she knows. And also because the scent was odd. The scent was a mix of forest, ash, a sprinkle of pine, a hint of musk and black orchid. One of the most oddest of scents that her nose has ever picked up on that belonged to an alpha.
It was almost comforting if it wasn't so strong and effortlessly overpowering her own scent.
She looked around again before looking back down at the jacket, she has never seen anyone on campus wear this jacket in particular, or maybe she just hasn't seen everyone at this school. Seoyeon blinked, trying to dig through her memory but nothing. What alpha just places a jacket over a sleeping and defenseless omega?
Apparently only the owner of the jacket.
Seoyeon was about to keep investigating the piece of clothing when she felt her phone start to vibrate, and that's when she finally saw the piece of candy. What the hell? Seoyeon took out her phone and noticed it was her best friend calling. She answered and placed her phone between her ear and shoulder before picking up the candy and looking at it completely puzzled. It wasn't hers either. Could it be that the alpha left it too? No way.
"Seoyeon, where the hell are you?" The voice pierced through the phone, Seoyeon was almost sure the librarian heard it. "I'm in the library, Yubin." Seoyeon whispered and the said girl let out an awkward chuckle. "Sorry. It's that I'm already outside the library waiting for you to come out for the past thirty minutes." Right, Yubin was here to pick her up, she slept the whole time and didn't study anything. "Alright, I'm heading out." Seoyeon said, absentmindedly placing the candy into her school blazer before standing up. Placing the jacket on the table as she quickly started to pack up.
And once her backpack was slung over her shoulder, she contemplated leaving the jacket there for someone to find and take it to the lost and found. But with an annoyed sigh she grabbed the jacket and held it against her chest as she walked out. Not knowing why she even wanted to take it in the first place, the alpha's scent was just going to keep rubbing on her. And it's going to take a long bath and a lot of perfume to eliminate it tomorrow.
She pushed the door open and walked out, and there stood Yubin, furiously texting on her phone. Once she looked up, her eyes sparkled as she ran to hug her best friend tightly. "You're acting as if we haven't seen each other in weeks." Seoyeon grumbled and Yubin only hummed. "It's been three hours, but it's—practically—the same thing." Seoyeon rolled her eyes as she started to walk, leaving for Yubin to catch up to her. The girl furrowing her eyebrows when she noticed what Seoyeon was holding onto tightly.
Isn't that—
"Hey, what are you doing with Kim Yooyeon's jacket?" Seoyeon turned to look at her confused. The name ringing a bell but not being able to match a face to it. "Kim Yooyeon?" Seoyeon asked and her best friend gave her a knowing look. "The nerd? The quiet girl in your fourth period that just seems to exist? The girl you get annoyed at for no reason." It wasn't clicking to her just yet. Probably because she just woke up.
"She isn't that much taller than you, she's an alpha. Friends with Chayeeon's girlfriend. It isn't ringing a bell?" Seoyeon shook her head and Yubin let out a sigh. For someone so smart, she sure had a bad memory at times.
It took a couple of seconds but it clicked to Seoyeon. Kim Yooyeon, she sat at the back of her class. She never interacted with anyone and didn't participate in class but was the top student of the class. She tried to remember if she had seen her in the library earlier but she didn't. Or maybe she just didn't look at everyone there.
"Are you sure it's her jacket?" Seoyeon asked and Yubin nodded. "It's the only jacket she wears all the time." Seoyeon looked even more visibly confused. She's an alpha? And even decided to leave her jacket? "You said she's an alpha?" Yubin looked at her confused. "Yes. If it wasn't for her scent, everyone would think she's an omega. She's very reserved and doesn't really do any alpha like things. If anything, maybe she's just in the wrong body." Seoyeon then seemed to realize that it was Yooyeon's alpha scent that she always seemed to smell in class from where she sat. The scent always seemed to linger in her nose after she's walked out of class.
"You still haven't answered my question. Why do you have it? Oh my god—did you kill her?!" Seoyeon snapped her neck to look at her friend with wide eyes. "What?! No! I had fallen asleep and then when I woke up it was already covering me." Seoyeon said and Yubin squinted at her. "Are you sure? I dont have a single clue on how to hide a body, but we can try." Seoyeon smacked her hardly. "Yes, I'm sure!" Yubin sighed sadly as if almost disappointed that she wouldn't be hiding a body tonight.
They were now walking back to the dorms, they so happened to be dorm-mates as well. As they were walking past the basketball court, Yubin's voice suddenly echoed all around. "Three-pointer Lee Jiwoo!" Everyone turned to look at Yubin, some laughing others just shocked with how loud she got. And that's when Seoyeon realized that the tall girl with the 03 jersey was Chaeyeon's girlfriend.
Jiwoo waved Yubin off, even sticking the middle finger at her before she went back to throwing shots. Seoyeon has known Yubin for years and she never knew that she was this close to any alpha again. "Do you get along with alphas now?" Seoyeon asked as Yubin was now walking calmly beside her. "Not all, just Jiwoo and her friend group." Yubin answered and Seoyeon looked at her confused. "Why?" Yubin asked and Seoyeon looked away.
"After what happened—I never thought you could get close to an alpha again." Yubin smiled and shrugged. "It took some time but because of them, I realized that not all alphas are bad. Especially one like Yooyeon." At the mention of the owner of the jacket she was still holding, she looked at Yubin again. "What do you mean?" Seoyeon asked.
"She's just different, even more different than Jiwoo and the rest of those knuckleheads. She's kind and a safe place." Seoyeon jerked her head back completely taken back. An alpha being a safe place? That sounds crazy to hear, but even crazier to say. "I know it's crazy or whatever, but if you talked to her at least once, you'd understand what I mean. Please don't ever kick her pearls, she doesn't deserve to get them kicked." Yubin said as she shook her intensely and Seoyeon was now scared of her best friend. Still not understanding how Yubin found herself tangled with those—alphas.
Though what Yubin said does kind of explain why just Yooyeon's scent alone was so...comforting. Seoyeon didn't want to admit it, but maybe that's why she carried her jacket still. She didn't feel it or maybe even acknowledged it at the moment, but that alpha's scent eased her just slightly, made her feel the tiniest bit of safe with how strong it was, knowing that any other alpha would smell it from miles away and leave her alone.
She managed to get herself loose from Yubin's intense shaking and glared at her. "I'm not going to kick her pearls! Unless she ever gives me a reason to." She whispered the last part and Yubin whined. Seoyeon smiled slightly, at least happy that Yubin was moving on from her dark past and was finding a new beginning and giving alphas a second chance in some way. But not her, she's hates alphas deep inside.
Seoyeon looked down at the jacket as they finally entered the dorm building, Yubin noticed. "Hey, I can take the jacket and I'll give it to Jiwoo to pass it back to Yooyeon tomorrow." Yubin offered but Seoyeon shook her head. "I'll give it back to her and at least give her a thank you." Seoyeon said and Yubin nodded. Giving Seoyeon a look that the older didn't see. Maybe finally Seoyeon will tone it down with the abuse to the alphas, though they do deserve it but maybe not all of them.
Seoyeon and Yubin walked into the elevator, Seoyeon holding the jacket tightly against her chest still, not wanting to let it go. She realized that the omega in her was relishing on the scent, and that has never happened to her before. Her omega hated any of the alphas scents. But not this one apparently.
And if she only knew, that Yooyeon was going to be more than just any other alpha.
Chapter 3: Chapter three
Chapter Text
"Okay, what happened to you?"
Yooyeon looked at Yeonji confused. "What are you talking about?" She asked completely puzzled by her friend. "She has a point. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Jiwoo chirped in as she was standing tall behind her girlfriend, her long arms wrapped around her midsection, Chaeyeon leaning back into her. They genuinely made everyone else envy their perfect relationship.
Yooyeon then turned to look at the group that was looking right back at her weirdly. "You're not wearing your jacket, like the jacket that you never seem to take off, the jacket that is used on a daily basis and is practically worn the hell out. The jacket that you would quite literally murder someone for even looking at it. You never use any other jacket or hoodie aside from that one as if your closet wasn't filled with them." Nien said as she held a single finger up like a nerd.
Yooyeon frowned, looking at her friends with blank eyes. "I gave my jacket to Seoyeon who had fallen asleep, it was cold in the library and she didn't wake up at all so I just left her there with my jacket covering her." She explained as if it was the most normal thing she has ever done in her life. Everyone's eyes widened. "You did what?!" Kaede's voice echoed in the hallway.
"Oh—you're so dead." Kotone said as she was leaned up against a locker, biting into a cookie. "I didn't do anything bad." Yooyeon said confused and Jiwoo let out a sigh. She really loves Yooyeon, but sometimes she can be really dense and clueless that it's genuinely frustrating. "Seoyeon hates any alpha scents, Yooyeon. I'm pretty sure she probably shredded your jacket when she woke up. RIP to the legend." Chaeyeon was the one to say. After all, she was friends with her in some way.
No one really knows who Seoyeon is in reality besides Yubin, they're known to be childhood friends and that they've never separated since then.
Yooyeon seemed to understand what they were saying then, but not fully. "And I don't think you've realized that your scent is so strong." Lynn was the one to say this time. "Yeah, like it overpowers all of ours combined. The jacket alone probably scented her unintentionally." Nien said with thin lips. Yooyeon just stood there baffled. But she did nothing wrong...would Seoyeon make her see heaven? She really hopes not, she's too young to go out by a kick to the pearls.
Yooyeon leaned against the wall, as the group changed the topic and started to playfully argue about who was the better looking one. Jiwoo went off for being the only with a girlfriend. And then Kotone started to say something about being a short queen. And then Nien showing off her muscles that had no strength in them for some reason. And Yooyeon? She just stood there, looking at them fondly, like a proud father.
But none of them noticed the pair of eyes watching them with a piercing gaze. "God, can you please act like you're not murdering her in your head?" Jiyeon was the one to say as she glanced at the group. Her eyes staying on a tall girl that resembled a shark for a little too long. "I'm not murdering her in my head." Seoyeon said, glaring at Jiyeon. "Sure does look like it though." Seoyeon didn't even glance to the tall model like woman named Xinyu standing next to her.
"Guys, all I'm going to do is give her jacket back. Why are y'all making it seem like I'm going to throw her out the window and kill her?" She asked and her friends looked at each other. "Well, maybe because it's something you're really capable of doing?" Seoyeon glared, maybe her friends are more annoying than any alpha in this world.
"How did you even end up with her jacket anyway? Isn't that like a prized treasure to her?" They all turned to look at Yubin this time that was too busy staring off at the group, well, looking at one alpha in particular. Nakyoung. "What—huh?" Yubin felt all eyes on her and turned to look at them. "How did you even end up tangled into that group?" Mayu asked, genuinely baffled.
"Guys, are we forgetting I'm friends with Chaeyeon? She's literally all snuggled up to Jiwoo that it's genuinely disgusting." Everyone turned to look at the said girl that was now kissing Jiwoo's cheek repeatedly and she was just letting her as she held a conversation with the rest of their friends. "She presented me to Jiwoo and then Jiwoo kind of dragged us both to meet the group. And that's how I ended up being friends with them." Yubin said, clasping her hands together as if she was ending a story.
"That doesn't explain anything!" Dahyun exclaimed and Yubin glared. "That's how it happened, I'm being for real here. They all took me in like a little sister. I could literally text one of them right now and ask to be escorted to class, and I'll end up being escorted by all of them." Yubin said and the groups jaws went slack.
Seoyeon wasn't paying attention to the commotion of the girls never ending questions at Yubin. Her eyes focused on Yooyeon that was just calmly scrolling through her phone now. How was she supposed to act once she went up to her? She's never spoken calmly or even thanked an alpha before. Her experiences with them has turned her into a guarded person that would fight instead of flight without second thought.
What if she throws a kick out of old habit?
"What's Yooyeon even like?" Seoyeon asked without thinking, turning to Yubin who stopped her counter argument at being accused of being too privileged. "She's...calm. Her world kind of revolves around her grades and school. She's very absentminded and doesn't pay attention to the world. She's has that chivalry that doesn't exist nowadays, she's also very soft spoken and has never raised her voice once. She's kind of the leader of the group but isn't prideful of it. And of course, she has that alpha ego but it's silent and isn't evil. It's just there to make sure no other alpha thinks she's easy to mess with. And to basically sum it up, she's an omegas alpha just like the rest of them." That last sentence made everyone frown.
"What the hell does that even mean?" Seoyeon asked and Yubin groaned with a roll of eyes. "That she stands up for us like the rest of those knuckleheads do. Like she's there for me whenever I need someone to talk to when you aren't available. She's emotionally mature about everything too, she's heard my rants a million of times and just listens, never gives an opinion. She's there to help, as so are the rest of them." Yubin explained and the group looked at her weird.
"Don't believe me? They're literally in the club about the omega system, jogging down notes as if it were the most important thing to them. They get us, you know? That's why I'm so close to them. They always make sure to make me feel safe. They aren't aggressive and they speak to you with respect. Like yes, they get playful but they never really actually mean it. They are alphas after all, they're allowed to have their slip ups." Seoyeon listened as her eyes fell on Yooyeon again.
It was making sense.
Yooyeon was there with her, could've had the chance to do the most inhumane thing to her like any other alpha would've at seeing her defenseless. But didn't, instead she only took care of her in some way. Covering her with her jacket to make sure she didn't get too cold, and even giving her a candy. That wasn't normal, that wasn't what her nature is supposed to be about. "It just doesn't make sense." Seoyeon said, being fully doubtful and Yubin looked at blankly.
"Still don't believe they're good? Yooyeon has a younger sister, and she's an omega. Yooyeon entrusts her to them at times when she can't be there for her. They treat that child as if they birthed her." Yubin said rolling her eyes playfully. "Now that's just wild." Mayu whispered astonishingly. "I know, but they're just truly amazing." Seoyeon didn't say it out loud, but she was intrigued. Not by the group, but by Yooyeon who was flashing the most puppy-like smile Seoyeon has ever seen.
She felt her breath hitch when Yooyeon's eyes disappeared with her smile. No alpha could ever look cute—Seoyeon refused to believe it but when Yooyeon's teeth came in to view, she swore she almost exploded. Yooyeon was laughing as she pointed at Jiwoo whose ear was being tugged by Chaeyeon, the rest of the girl were holding in their laughter but failing miserably as they broke into giggles.
And Seoyeon realized it then, that maybe Yubin was right. Jiwoo was just standing there, complaining about the pain but not once doing anything to stop Chaeyeon from tugging her ear. A normal alpha would never allow an omega to do that to them. Especially now, that Chaeyeon was giving all of their ears a hard tug for laughing.
"Wait, you didn't tell us how you ended up with her jacket?" Xinyu asked and Seoyeon didn't speak at first, eyes seeming like they were glaring at the alpha across the hallway. But in reality she was just trying to read her. "I went to the library to study, and somehow I ended up falling asleep. When I woke up, her jacket was covering me but she was nowhere to be seen—I didn't even know it was hers." Seoyeon said. The group let out a simultaneous hum.
They found Seoyeon weird at the moment, she didn't speak with a snarl, her voice was calm as if the thought of Yooyeon didn't bother her like it should've. That the thought of the alpha wasn't itching her to kick her where it hurts for thinking she could scent her, even if done unintentionally. Seoyeon hated alphas and that was just about it, but maybe not all of them. Yooyeon just might the exemption. Did they approve of Yooyeon? Hell yeah! Was Seoyeon ever going to give in? That they don’t know.
Seoyeon kept looking at Yooyeon, even as she walked away with her head hung low, following behind her friends like a lost puppy.
She finally looked away, something stirring deep within her chest. What was it? She didn't know.
But whatever it was, it scared her slightly
Chapter 4: Chapter four
Chapter Text
Seoyeon leaned against the locker, eyes wide and jaw on the floor as she watched her best friend walk through the hallway, Yooyeon right next to her like nothing, ignoring the eyes and whispers coming from everyone around them. The taller woman was nodding along to everything that Yubin was saying as she yapped without end.
Seoyeon was frozen, Xinyu was next to her, ranting about some alpha named Sohyun. Jiyeon was consulting advice on how to not have a crush on a Japanese alpha. She wasn't listening at all, Yubin locked eyes with her and Seoyeon did nothing but glare as Yubin linked arms with Yooyeon who let her, letting Yubin drag her towards them. She heard a gasp come from her right. "Is that who I think it is?" Mayu whispered and Seoyeon had to look away and act as if her palms weren't sweating.
When fourth period came along, she wasn't able to give Yooyeon her jacket back since she kind of chickened out. Not wanting for anyone in her class to think Yooyeon is a different case, though she might be. And it seems that Yubin has taken matters into her own hands as Yooyeon now stood before them. A puppy-like expression on her face as she gave them all a polite smile.
"Guys! This is Yooyeon, and these are my friends, they're a little quirky." They heard a whine come from Dahyun who glared at Yubin but waved softly at Yooyeon that waved back, no harm in her expression. And Seoyeon was really hoping Yubin tripped on something—anything! Or maybe even slipped to make matters worse
"And that's Seoyeon, you may know her and her habits." Yubin said, leaning against Yooyeon who gave a brief glance and nod towards Seoyeon's direction. Respectful of the fact that she was surrounded by omegas, including one that seems she wants to rip her head off. Seoyeon huffed as she caught Yooyeon looking down at the jacket in her arms. Right, this was the whole reason why Yubin dragged her over.
Seoyeon gave a knowing glance to her friends and they were quick to bid their goodbyes and scatter off to god knows where. Seoyeon could truly be scary at times. And all besides Yubin that was still laughing at something that she herself said. "Anyway, you really need to tell Nakyoung that I'm waiting here like a fool, that she should face me." Seoyeon frowned, Yooyeon looked away. "You know I can't tell her what to do, but I can try to convince her to stop running away from you." Yooyeon offered her a soft smile that Yubin returned.
Yubin had some explaining to do.
Seoyeon stood there like an extra piece, clearing her throat which caused Yubin to finally look at her. Yooyeon seemingly flinched as she also turned to look at Seoyeon, curious and wide eyes making Seoyeon fumble slightly. "Right! I dragged you along because Seoyeon had something to say to you. I'll be going now! Say hi to those knuckleheads for me!" And Yubin didn't give neither of them the chance to process the fact that they were now alone, together.
They both watched as Yubin skipped down the hall, probably heading to some trouble like always. Yooyeon looked away and focused on Seoyeon, flinching when she locked eyes with her. "W-What d-do you have to t-tell me?" Yooyeon was shaking both inside and out. Seoyeon looked too serious for her liking, eyebrows raising in amusement at seeing how panicked Yooyeon was.
Not that Yooyeon was scared (she totally was) but she didn't want Seoyeon to think at any point that she would challenge her and try to be smart with her. She would never do such thing. She'd rather have her pride be hurt and let Seoyeon think she's a pussy than scare Seoyeon the slightest bit. She has an ego, but it's only used against those other useless alphas that think power is everything.
"I just wanted to return this." Seoyeon offered the jacket gently, eyes locked to Yooyeon who looked down at the jacket. A small smile came across Yooyeon's face as she took hold of the clothing piece, her eyes becoming crescents and there goes Seoyeon's sanity again. "And I also wanted to say thank you—for covering me. You didn't have to do such thing anyway." Seoyeon said as she watched Yooyeon sling the jacket over her shoulder. Eyes locked to her own.
She was managing to keep her tone light, really fighting back the snarl she usually spoke with. Yooyeon hasn't done anything wrong (neither did anyone else but we can ignore that for now) and she really doesn't want to be snappy with someone who did a kind thing for her.
Someone who didn't attempt to hurt her at all, and just took care of her in the most silent and distant way possible.
"It was out of a good deed, it was freezing. And I also had thought that an alpha scent on you would keep others away, but please forgive me if it made you uncomfortable in any way. It wasn't my intention." Seoyeon froze, like literally. Her mouth was wide open as her thoughts ran in circles inside her mind. What the hell did Yooyeon just say?
Did she just ask for forgiveness?
When the hell did any freaking alpha learn that phrase?
"No, it's okay. I appreciate what you did. You just caught me a little off guard." Seoyeon said honestly, avoiding Yooyeon's soft gaze. "Ah, sorry about that." Yooyeon said smiling, and being her usual absentminded self, she stretched her hand out for Seoyeon to shake. "It was a pleasure formally meeting you, as Yubin mentioned my name is Kim Yooyeon." Yooyeon introduced herself properly to her and Seoyeon realized then that Yubin was right.
Yooyeon was different.
Chivalrous, polite, and respectful.
Seoyeon hesitated for a moment too long, but decided that there was no harm in shaking her hand. "Yoon Seoyeon, you might've heard some stuff about me." Seoyeon said, finally showing an expression—though an awkward one. But it was something! "Ah! Yes, you're popular among the alphas." Seoyeon raised an eyebrow and Yooyeon realized that what she said sounded wrong. So wrong.
"Not in a bad way! Some of us genuinely think it's best staying away from you for the sake of our futures." And Seoyeon laughed, like air escaped her lungs and slipped her lips. Yooyeon froze, did she just make THE Yoon Seoyeon laugh? She is so gong to relive this moment for the rest of her life.
Not that she's crushing or anything, but Seoyeon is a true beauty. Any alpha would die to be with her, and would be the luckiest being to exist. There was just a dazzle about Seoyeon that made you want to kneel before her and worship her. And it means a lot, alphas don't kneel to anyone. Or maybe Yooyeon is just that damn of a loser with no dignity whatsoever? Definitely.
Maybe Yooyeon hasn't realized it yet, but she's been down bad since senior year of high school, but that's a story for another chapter.
Seoyeon didn't know what it was about Yooyeon, but ever since Yubin left them alone and she stopped being so guarded, she realized that Yooyeon was just...calm and cautious. It took her a second but she noticed how Yooyeon was careful with the way she looked at her and spoke to her. She kept a respectful distance between them, not overstepping any boundaries as well.
She couldn't deny that Yooyeon was attractive as hell. Yooyeon was that kind of nerd that any girl had the hots for. And it's not that she herself was attracted to Yooyeon, but she's allowed to admire a forbidden beauty, right? And this—oddness—was attractive in its own cutesy manner. Seoyeon just wouldn't admit it out loud. Ever. That was...nasty!
Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon that was fiddling with her fingers, obviously wanting to say something more but not pushing herself to. Seoyeon took a deep breath, a bit more of her walls lowered before she spoke. "You're not what I expected at all." She said, honesty in her voice, words escaping her lips before she could stop them. Yooyeon looked at her genuinely confused. "I hope that's not a bad thing." Seoyeon chuckled as she shook her head, finding the alpha the slightest bit of endearing. Just a little. Just enough to have her heart moved.
And she wasn't understanding anything at the moment, not knowing why she was even still standing here with Yooyeon. But something in her chest kept her rooted there, wanting to speak and listen to Yooyeon. Was it her omega? Most likely.
"It's not a bad thing at all, I just find you odd in a way that doesn't scare me." Seoyeon said with much more honesty and Yooyeon looked at her, like really looked at her as if she was reading every page of her life. Seoyeon was letting her guard down fully, realizing that this is what Yubin meant. Yooyeon was just a natural safe place, her scent and way of being brings you a sense of safety, knowing that she wouldn't hurt you in any manner.
An omega just knows when she's safe and when she's not. And Seoyeon right now was in the safest place. By Yooyeon's side.
Seoyeon wasn't really apposing the idea of letting Yooyeon in, but she didn't know if she should. Her whole life she's spent chasing alphas away but not this one named Yooyeon apparently. And it would honestly change everything that Seoyeon is, she was the only one that Seoyeon has ever allowed so close to her. "I'm glad that it's how you feel, it's what I aim for. I have no intentions on ever scaring you or making you feel inferior. Basically anything that these other alphas do." Yooyeon said with a soft smile crossing her face. Seoyeon gave her a small smile back.
She watched as Yooyeon contemplated something. Seoyeon just watched her intently, wondering what was going on through that strange mind. "I know this is out of the blue, but do you think we can be friends? Since we have a mutual friend so we don't suffer through all that awkwardness, you know? I understand if not." Yooyeon asked with a soft tone laced to her voice. Seoyeon was stunned, Yooyeon's intentions were genuine and it was so obvious.
Seoyeon should've said no.
Seoyeon should've let out a snarl and threw a kick right at Yooyeon's pearls for thinking that she has any right, or even a chance to be her friend.
Seoyeon should've done what she usually does to any other alpha. But she just didn't, her omega didn't react negatively to the suggestion. And neither did she herself.
Instead she looked up at Yooyeon and gave her a small smile. "I don't let alphas in." She said and she saw the way Yooyeon's shoulders deflated just the slightest bit in disappointment. "But we can become friends slowly, some things take time." Yooyeon's eyes sparkled instantly. She doesn't know what demon possessed her in that particular moment, but she genuinely thinks that it isn't that bad of an idea. Maybe Yooyeon could be the one—the one to change her perspective!
They stood there, soft smiles on their faces as Seoyeon silently wondered what kind of being Yooyeon truly was.
Yubin who watched from the corner with the rest of her friends, covered her mouth to not squeal. The other girls covering her mouth too and glaring at her to keep her from exposing their hiding place because Seoyeon would kill them. Chop them up. And throw them into the lion’s cage
Yubin just created a match made in heaven.
And Seoyeon without knowing that everything she's ever believed was already changing with Yooyeon standing before her.
Yooyeon was the one.
Chapter 5: Chapter five
Chapter Text
Alphas are distinct.
They don't share hobbies with omegas. They're all about the physical and dominance, usually outside and doing sporty stuff. But Seoyeon found herself shocked to see Yooyeon at the corner of the library, she was sat on the floor with an open book in hands. Her shock was obvious, Yooyeon kept getting stranger and stranger. But Seoyeon...liked it in a low-key manner.
It's been a couple of days since Yooyeon had asked her to be friends. They haven't approached each other since then, but when fourth period comes along, they catch each other's gazes from across the room. Yooyeon always gave her the tiniest of polite smiles and Seoyeon would return a soft one back. It was weird, but it felt right in some way.
Yooyeon wasn't pushing her to trust her or to let her in faster. Yooyeon was just there—a shadow, just waiting until Seoyeon could make the move herself. And Seoyeon couldn't appreciate that enough. Yubin was so fucking right, Yooyeon was an omegas alpha. She was...perfect—in a sense of someone that understands!
"You should so go talk to her, she's alone and there's no one here to look at you weirdly for hanging out with an alpha after practically denying everyone a family with a kick to the groin." Yubin whispered and Seoyeon turned to glare at her.
Something funny was up with Yubin but she just didn't know what. Ever since she told her about what kind of relationship had formed between her and Yooyeon, Yubin has been insistent about Seoyeon hanging out with Yooyeon. For 'character development' as Yubin would say but Seoyeon would refuse.
But maybe it was time.
Yooyeon had randomly appeared in her life in this same library, and maybe that was the biggest sign of all and she just decided to be blind and not see it. Seoyeon glanced at Yubin, really wanting to have a serious conversation with her first. So she was going to have it now but as soon as she was about to grab Yubin and lead her back out the library, the topic of the conversation suddenly popped up into her line of sight, heading right to them.
Seoyeon noticed the way Yubin froze. "Nakyoung..." She whispered the name as if it was the slightest bit of forbidden. Seoyeon looked back at Nakyoung that was staring right at Yubin with the most caring eyes she had ever seen in an alpha. "Yubin?" But before she could fully reach them. Yooyeon was suddenly pressing a hand against Nakyoung's chest. Whispering god know what to her, causing the alpha to frown with sadness crossing her eyes as she looked back at Yubin.
Yooyeon turned to them, walking over as she signaled for Nakyoung to stay where she was standing. Yooyeon gave Seoyeon a polite bow and smile before turning to Yubin. "You two need to talk, but not here. Last time you two talked here you slapped her across the face, Yubin. I know that Nakyoung is a dumbass sometimes but she really loves you and wants to give whatever it is you two have going on a try. I'm not telling you to say yes, but for the sake of your well being along with hers, give a final answer. Even if it's a no." Yubin was still glued to her spot.
Only her eyes moved to look at Nakyoung that was still looking at her, but that defeated puppy expression on her face melted the woman she loved completely. Yubin nodded at Yooyeon before looking at Seoyeon with an apologetic look that said she'd explain later. Leaving silently and taking hold of Nakyoung's hand before walking out the library.
Seoyeon turned to Yooyeon with an unreadable expression. "Am I going to be tortured for the truth?" Yooyeon asked, causing Seoyeon to frown in amusement at Yooyeon's little joke. And this sudden comfortable feeling was rising between them. "If I must because I'm currently in the clouds, fully lost." It was easy to talk to Yooyeon, even if they haven't spoken in days or even haven't spoken to each other their whole lives. Which was weird. She even found herself joking around. She wasn't used to that at all, what is Yooyeon doing to her?
"Maybe we should sit, it's a long story." Yooyeon gestured back to the spot where she was once seated at. She looked back at Seoyeon that nodded, walking first. Yooyeon followed behind with her head hung low. Sometimes playing Cupid was exhausting, they don't pay her enough for this when her own love life was inexistent.
Seoyeon plopped down to the floor and Yooyeon followed behind, they sat next to each other. Both their knees up to their chest. Seoyeon silent due to the fact that she was now fully surrounded by Yooyeon's scent and something in her was enjoying being engulfed in it and she genuinely wanted to tweak out, and the alpha next to her was silent due to being alone with Seoyeon. She didn't know how to act around—pretty—girls.
"When Jiwoo brought Chaeyeon and Yubin along for the first time. There was just an instant pull between her and Nakyoung. And it was clear that Yubin was struggling with that fact alone but Nakyoung never did anything to pressure her about what was happening between them. They grew close—as friends, but there was always that emotional connection that crossed the line of friendship and something more." Yooyeon sighed as she scratched the back of her head.
Seoyeon just staring at her as she waited for Yooyeon to continue, her heart racing slightly. Not knowing if it was because of Yooyeon, she hoped not, she wouldn't know how to work with that fact alone.
"Yubin doesn't trust her fully yet, and Nakyoung is just really trying to get Yubin to see that she wouldn't hurt her. Nakyoung can be fierce because she does have a temperament, Yubin has seen it. But she would never hurt Yubin, she loves her too much but Yubin doesn't want to believe it even though her heart is telling her to. Nakyoung is just patiently waiting for Yubin to give her the yes or no, but Yubin herself doesn't know the answer yet. So now I've sent them off to talk. If it works, then it does. If it doesn't, I have a crybaby to take care of." Seoyeon chuckled at the last part but genuinely felt sad. Why didn't Yubin tell her about what was going on?
They've been best friends since childhood.
"She didn't tell you because she didn't want you to worry and think that Nakyoung was a bad person to her. Though I did tell her to tell you a couple of times before you found out on your on accord. I'm sure she'll explain the rest—the more emotional parts later to you." Seoyeon took a deep breath and leaned her head against the wall.
"Something bad happened between her and an alpha back in high-school, I'm sure she wants to trust Nakyoung but that trauma still hasn't fully healed to become irrelevant enough to allow her to be with Nakyoung." Yooyeon finally looked over at Seoyeon. "I know, she was vague about having a bad experience. But I also know that she really loves Nakyoung. I just want them to be happy." Yooyeon muttered and Seoyeon turned to lock gazes with her.
"I do too, and I really don't care about who she ends up with. I just want it to be someone that will genuinely love her and treat her right." Seoyeon muttered and Yooyeon hummed, silence slowly taking over them. The silence wasn't uncomfortable or awkward, the silence was just there to allow their minds to think.
"I've hated alphas my whole life." Yooyeon turned to look at Seoyeon, surprised that she was opening up to her. "Not necessarily because of the bad experiences I've had with them, but just because I never wanted to allow anyone to make me feel small. A defense mechanism? Definitely." Yooyeon nodded, looking at Seoyeon with the most gentle gaze ever. Seoyeon looked at it and let out a soft smile. Feeling safe and free to be honest.
"I don't understand why I trust you, or why I'm even giving you the chance to be let in to my life. But the more you talk and the more you look at me with kind tenderness, what Yubin said about you becomes truer by the second. What even made you be this—tame?" Yooyeon chuckled, shaking her head.
"I hope she said nice things about me. But to be honest there were a lot of factors in my life that made me be a sane alpha." Yooyeon looked away from Seoyeon. Her own heart racing slightly at the thought of letting Seoyeon in emotionally. Maybe her love life wasn't so bad after all, but maybe it's too much to think that it'd be with Seoyeon.
"Growing up without a father in the picture was definitely the biggest part. I didn't grow in a household filled with violence and dominance, a hierchy of power over the weak. Instead I grew up in a home with a loving mother that always taught me the right things in life, besides cooking. Don’t trust me in the kitchen. She made sure I grew up to be an alpha that omegas could trust and reside on." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon felt a sense of admiration towards Yooyeon. She set a curve if Seoyeon was honest.
"And then growing up with a younger sister who presented as an omega, played an even bigger role to who I am. I always treat omegas the way I would want other alphas to treat my sister. And thinking in that mentality kept me in check, always." Seoyeon smiled at Yooyeon. "I never wanted to be like the rest anyway. I wanted to be different, I wanted to hold a different kind of power. Trust. It means a lot to me and my morals." Seoyeon felt a skip to her heartbeat at what Yooyeon said.
An alpha that thinks trust is the strongest power? Seoyeon was fully head over heels by now, she just doesn't know it yet.
Without much hesitation, she scooted closer to Yooyeon and without warning laid her head on her shoulder. A clear sign of trust. Yooyeon was completely frozen in her spot, not wanting to move. This was big step to becoming official friends with Seoyeon. But is that all Yooyeon wants to be? Could she dare want to be something more?
Could she ask that of Seoyeon? Probably not.
"Thank you for being who you are." Seoyeon muttered in a whisper but Yooyeon heard it clearly, her thoughts vanishing. Pride swelled in her chest, she was doing things right. And she's proud of that more than anything.
"You shouldn't thank me for being the bare minimum." Yooyeon whispered and Seoyeon let out a soft smile at her words. Who gave Yooyeon the humbleness? And who allowed her to feel so comfortable like a pillow?
Yooyeon was more than just the bare minimum.
She was...everything.
Chapter 6: Chapter six
Chapter Text
"Yooyeon, what is wrong with you?"
Kotone placed the back of her hand against Yooyeon's forehead, Jiwoo checking her pulse, Lynn calling for help, and Kaede staring at them weirdly. The rest of the group was just watching the scene in laughter.
"W-What?" Yooyeon tried to get free from Yenoji who was holding her down on the seat. "You're acting weird, as if life had rewarded you with gold." Well, if that's what you call having Seoyeon let you in to her world, and being the only one able to. "I am not acting weird!" Yooyeon denied and Kotone glared at her.
"You just offered us your food. You don't play about food! You never share and would bite any of us that remotely tried to steal." Lynn was the one to say. Okay, maybe they were right, but could you really blame her?
Something in her switched after that moment in the library. She doesn't know what it is but she's honestly devoted to Seoyeon now. Is she crushing? She doesn't know, she's never crushed on anyone to know if that's what it feels like. All she knows is that she's anxiously waiting for a moment with Seoyeon again.
They haven't properly met with one another, but Yooyeon lives for the small glances Seoyeon gives her of acknowledgement. The tiny waves that are easily missed by others, but not by Yooyeon who only smiles to not grab any unwanted attention. Knowing that it'll take some time before Seoyeon openly interacts with her. The gestures may be small, but it meant everything.
Tiny steps to success.
Honestly, Yooyeon would be anything that Seoyeon wants her to be. A friend, a lover, a side piece, and even just someone to rant to. Yooyeon would be happy and so would her alpha. The simple meaning that Seoyeon would stay being enough.
Someone needs to raise Yooyeon's standards!
"Oh—are you hiding something from us?" Nakyoung was the one to say, remembering that she noticed something between Yooyeon and Seoyeon that day in the library. Yooyeon turned to look at her confused. "What are you talking about?" She wasn't even pretending, she was honestly clueless about what Nakyoung was hinting on. Causing the said girl to face palm herself.
"Oh my god! Are you hiding someone from us?" Kaede was the one to ask this time and Yooyeon turned to look at her just as confused. And then it hit her, she hasn't told them about her current establishing friendship with Seoyeon. Would they even believe her? Probably not, but it's worth the try and seeing their reactions. They'd probably explode but it'd be worth it.
"I'm becoming friends with Seoyeon."
Everything went silent between the group, all of them looking at Yooyeon as if she just said the most dumbest thing ever to them. "Yooyeon, it's okay to admit that you're going crazy, you know? You don't have to think so hard of a lie." Jiwoo said, taking hold of her hand, causing for Yooyeon to frown at her and swat her hand away. "I'm not going crazy, I'm being for real!" She tried to convince them but the group instantly started to accuse her of being an asylum patient on the loose.
They all started to playfully jump her and trying to get the actual truth out of her but then they stopped, realizing that Yooyeon was a bad liar. She couldn't even lie to save herself from her own death. They all came to a stop and looked at her. Yooyeon still looked clueless as ever but there was no sign of her cracking for lying.
It took the whole group a couple of seconds before it clicked to them, causing them to let out a scream at the same time that caused the whole cafeteria to look at them surprised.
Yooyeon wasn't lying!
They were all standing there looking at Yooyeon with shock, not wanting to believe that what she said was true. They refused. That can't be right, Yooyeon must be delirious. Seoyeon probably whacked her with a baseball bat and now she's acting this way, being crazy and delusional.
Unbeknownst to them, there was a pair of eyes watching them intently. Already knowing what the fuss was about. "Okay, you're acting weird. You haven't snapped at all today." Xinyu was the one to say as she looked at Seoyeon with a raised eyebrow. "Can't I have a good morning?" Seoyeon asked, but she knew the reason of her sudden change.
After leaning her head again Yooyeon's shoulder, something in her flipped. She doesn't want to call it feelings because she truly wouldn't know what to do with them. But surely whatever they are, she feels close to Yooyeon despite their obvious physical distance. Emotionally on the other hand, they felt closer than ever.
At the library, Seoyeon knew that Yooyeon let all her walls down in that moment and let her in without a doubt. But she herself questioned if she could fully too? And not just for the moment. Yooyeon still doesn't pressure her in any way, she just accepts the smallest of efforts and doesn't ask for more. Seoyeon may act a little bitchy sometimes but she wasn't heartless.
She knew that Yooyeon deserved a little more from her. But Seoyeon also didn't know how to act around her. Yooyeon was nothing like her friend's personalities. She was a little more serious but also funny without meaning to be.
She turned away from Xinyu and looked back at Yooyeon that was being held in a playful headlock by Lynn, Seoyeon almost let out a smile. "They are so weird." Jiyeon was the one to mumble, but her eyes showed some type of fondness as she looked at Lynn from across the cafeteria. Could she ever confess? Maybe one day, but not today.
"Seoyeon, I think you have some explaining to do because I'm really connecting the dots here." Dahyun said, causing Seoyeon to look back at her again. "What are you on now?" Seoyeon asked with an eye roll. "This is about Yooyeon, isn't it?" Seoyeon glared, she could not be that easy to read. "What?—no." Seoyeon said and Yubin was sitting there looking at Seoyeon teasingly.
"I mean, Dahyun has a point. Ever since you gave her back her jacket, you've been acting as if the world gave you lemons and you made mojitos with them." Chaewon said as she fixed her bangs, eyes peeking at the group. Looking at Hayeon that was now the one being held in a headlock by Nien. Smiling just slightly that the group didn't catch it.
"And let's not forget that you've been looking at her a lot lately." Seoyeon quickly looked away from Yooyeon with her cheeks slightly red at being caught. "Are you crushing on her, Seoyeon?" Yubin was the one to ask and Seoyeon quickly fired back. "What about Nakyoung?" The group let out a gasp as Yubin turned red at being the center of attention now. "Y-Yah! We aren't talking about me right now, I left you in the library with her a couple of days ago!" Everyone turned to look at Seoyeon again with wide eyes.
"Fine! No, I'm not crushing on her but I'm establishing a friendship with her, if you even call it that." Xinyu squealed as she smacked Seoyeon's back a little too hard. "Finally, makes sense as to why she's still walking normally and not having to waddle like a penguin." Mayu said. Seoyeon glared at her this time.
"Girls, can we please not bring up my abusive tendencies?" They all shook their heads and Seoyeon groaned, giving a glance to where Yooyeon was now the one having Nien and Kotone in a headlock. Her smile was wide, and that sent something shooting straight to Seoyeon's heart. How could someone look so filled with life? Yooyeon didn't have to say anything then but Seoyeon saw it in her eyes. Yooyeon's life wasn't perfect obviously, being the only alpha to protect her family was a lot of weight.
Seoyeon looked back at her friends that looked right at her. "This is like the hundredth glance her way, you are so crushing on her. Oh my god—is she the one?!" Hyerin was the one to say this time, finally looking up from her phone. Everyone turned to look at her with wide eyes, realizing she had a good point and then looking at Seoyeon expecting her answer.
But they knew Seoyeon was gong to deny it for the sake of her 'number one alpha hater' pride. They know her a little too well anyway, Yooyeon was obviously the one for more reasons than one.
"What?! No! We aren't even friends like that, we're still in the process of knowing past each other's names." Seoyeon tried to reason but they shook their heads. "She's the only alpha you've willingly let in to your life, this isn't a friendly thing. You are crushing." Okay, Yooyeon was attractive, she's said that before but crushing? She's never wants to crush on an alpha again. Betas? Yes, a few. But this is different. She doesn't even know Yooyeon like that.
This feels different, it isn't the typical crushing that she once experienced or has seen on TV.
What if it was deeper than that?
Seoyeon shook her head rapidly and let out a panicked squeal that caused everyone to look at her this time. What is the Yooyeon living in her mind doing now?!
Seoyeon met Yooyeon's worried gaze from where she sat, hands mid air trying to stop Nien from throwing an apple at Kaede. Seoyeon only smiled awkwardly before turning her whole body towards her friends this time. And they all caught the gaze that belonged to Yooyeon worriedly looking at Seoyeon. They were so going to eat this moment up. "And you're saying you aren't even friends like that, just look at the way she was looking at you. Okay, maybe you don't crush on her but she's very obviously crushing on you." And those words made Seoyeon freeze.
She wouldn't even be able to tell if Yooyeon does. Yooyeon was just genuinely a green flag with every little thing she did. She wasn't a flirt but her kindness could be seen as flirting but Seoyeon refuses to believe that too. What would Yooyeon even like about her anyway? Seoyeon is complicated in many ways that any alpha wouldn't understand.
But then again, this is Yooyeon.
She's different.
Both different in like herself and different to Seoyeon.
"No, don't say that. Yooyeon can't like me." Seoyeon said and Mayu gave her a knowing look. "Is it because you wouldn't know what to do with her feelings?" Seoyeon nodded. "Or would it be because you're too scared to feel something back?" She didn't nod nor shake her head, being enough of an answer. Was she scared to feel something for Yooyeon? Yes, just a little.
She doesn't know how a relationship would work with her. Not that she's thinking that ahead! But it's a harmless thought (not really because it made her chest ache just slightly.)
Yooyeon was too good for her anyway.
She didn't deserve her, right?
Chapter 7: Chapter seven
Chapter Text
It had taken a couple more days before Seoyeon and Yooyeon found themselves alone, but this time it wasn't in the library or in the cafeteria. This time it was in the school's garden that was being grown by the science department. No one else knew about the spot but them.
Both had decided to get away from the loudness, only to find themselves in the silence of each other's company—and in the company of all the vegetables and flowers.
"Are you okay?" No, Seoyeon wasn't okay, her friends have filled her mind with parasites of thoughts that would not leave her alone. "Yeah, just tired." Seoyeon answered as she looked up at Yooyeon, giving her a soft smile to sell her answer. Though so long since that day in the library where something must've shifted, everything flowed so easily between them now. And that was so adding on to Seoyeon's dilema. She just didn't understand why, maybe she did and she was in denial of what it meant.
They stood across from one another, the continuous pots of roses standing between them. It almost felt like a scene out of a K-drama, that one scene where feelings will dawn and Seoyeon was not going to accept that manifestation. Though, maybe it's a little too late to take it back.
Yooyeon only had to glance at Seoyeon once to know that she wasn't okay, plus Seoyeon was unconsciously letting out her distressed pheromones. And Yooyeon tried to ignore it the best she could, but Seoyeon's scent was intoxicating in a good way. And it was calling out for her to comfort Seoyeon.
Seoyeon's scent was a mix of honey, vanilla, and a hint of blooming flowers in spring. It was sweet in an almost addictive manner. Her alpha rejoiced any time she caught her scent in the air, it made her happy in an odd way and it definitely made her giddy in a way that her friends found weird because she would be all smiles and no thoughts.
She wasn't able to wash her jacket that she covered Seoyeon with, not wanting to get rid of her lingering scent on it. That must sound crazy to some but Seoyeon's scent was calming and it helped her sleep a little better. She genuinely thinks she's beyond crushing at this point, could she be in love? Maybe. She hoped so. Why? Being in love with Seoyeon must be amazing. She'd happily let Seoyeon kick her and deny her of a future family if it meant to be around her for a bit longer.
"How have you been?" Seoyeon asked, looking right at Yooyeon who smiled slightly. "Just wondering around, keeping my grades exactly where they need to be—the usual basically." Seoyeon let out a chuckle as she forced herself to look away from Yooyeon. "Did you always want to be a such a scholar?" There was a teasing tone laced in Seoyeon's voice that made Yooyeon's eyebrows raise. There was more to Seoyeon than what she let others see.
Yooyeon let out a playful huff before speaking. "Of course not, I just happened to be smart enough to understand everything easily. Sometimes I wanted to just dumb myself down a bit to avoid all these super hard and unnecessary classes that are tearing through my brain." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon raised both her eyebrows. "I also have to set an example so...keeping my grades high is the only way to motivate a teenager that wants to throw her every shoe at me when she's being all emo." Seoyeon laughed.
"Emo?" She questioned between her laughs that were making Yooyeon smile hard, she was cheesing at this point. "Well—yes! She's moody at times. She swung her baseball bat at me once, that was the scariest experience of my life. And I didn't even do anything and my skull was going to be cracked open." Seoyeon bursted into laughter again, all negative thoughts gone as she imagined the scene out.
"Your sister seems to love you very much." Seoyeon teased and Yooyeon playfully rolled her eyes. "She'd say she hates me but then she'd be all over me saying I'm her favorite person in the whole world 'cause I got her ice cream." Seoyeon wished the flowers weren't between them. She wanted to be next to Yooyeon.
Wait, what?—
"Your sister sounds fun and chaotic." Seoyeon said with a soft smile and Yooyeon nodded. "That she is, but I love her too much to trade her out for some food." Seoyeon laughed again as she shook her head in amusement. Wasn't Yooyeon a little funny alpha?
Yooyeon was enjoying the fact that Seoyeon was all laughs and giggles now, she didn't like seeing Seoyeon stuck up in her head, negative thoughts seemed to run in her mind and deprive her of that smile that Yooyeon seemed to really like. "Okay, enough of my emo little sister. Tell me about you, how have you been?" Yooyeon asked, tucking her hands into her trouser pockets. Trying to act as if her world wasn't crumbling by just looking at Seoyeon.
"Just a little out of focus, mind always somewhere else." Seoyeon said honestly, finally looking down at the flowers between them. The raw response made Yooyeon tilt her head, a sudden thought crossing her mind. She stretched her hand out in a polite attempt to ask for Seoyeon's hand. "Do you trust me enough to take you somewhere? I promise that I have no bad intentions." Yooyeon's puppy like eyes made Seoyeon give in instantly.
Plus...Seoyeon trusted her a little too much right now. More than she should've, but Yooyeon has never once really shown any signs of wanting to harm her in any way.
"As long as I don't appear as a case on the news." Seoyeon said, reaching out to hold Yooyeon's hand. And what she didn't feel when she shook Yooyeon's hand the day she returned her jacket, she was feeling it now. That little electrifying touch that sent warning signals to her brain. A sudden thump to her heart beat, and a sense of awareness to how soft Yooyeon's skin felt against her own.
The alpha smiled brightly as she started to tug Seoyeon down the aisle of flowers, hands still holding one another, backpacks slung over their shoulders, and smiles that nothing could erase. Something in Seoyeon was healing in that particular moment, Yooyeon was repairing some small part of her just by this act alone.
Where was she taking her? Seoyeon had no clue, but she wouldn't rather be anywhere else. Wherever Yooyeon is, she wants to be. Could her friends be right that she's crushing on Yooyeon? She wanted to say no, that they were being crazy and delusional. But maybe some little part of Seoyeon believed that she was indeed feeling something for the alpha that was looking back at her with a wide smile on her face.
"Where are you even taking me?" Seoyeon dared to ask as she noticed that they were now heading to the back of the school. "My secret place, hop on." Yooyeon threw her backpack over the school's gate and squatted slightly for Seoyeon to hop on. "Wait, are we leaving the campus?" Seoyeon asked and Yooyeon straightened up.
Yooyeon could feel her cheeks heating up slightly, she really didn't think this through. What if Seoyeon wouldn't want to join her anymore? It didn't matter, Yooyeon would respect her wants. But what if she thinks she's kidnapping her?! Oh—
"It's not that far, plus, the teachers aren't in class due to some emergency meeting that will take up the rest of the day, leaving the rest of the student to go to the auditorium. Might as well escape while we still can." Seoyeon was surprised, she never thought that Yooyeon would be the type to hop gates and be a slight rebel. Well, her friend group would explain that just a little. Jiwoo is known for skipping classes all the time.
But regardless, Seoyeon still trusted her.
"I hope that I'm not letting you easily kidnap me." Seoyeon joked a little and Yooyeon let out a chuckle. "I am terrified of you, Seoyeon. I wouldn't risk it." Yooyeon said, eyebrows shooting up at seeing Seoyeon come up to her and having one of her hands land on her shoulder carefully, looking down at her position, indicating that she was going to hop onto her back.
Yooyeon quickly bent her knees and allowed Seoyeon to jump onto her. She cautiously held the underneath of Seoyeon's thighs with her forearms to adjust her before making sure that Seoyeon wrapped her legs around her tightly. "Hold on tight, wouldn't want you to get hurt." Yooyeon said softly, feeling Seoyeon hold onto her tighter than before, ignoring the way she could feel her warmth against her. This was dangerous. Not physically, but emotionally.
Her heart was in serious danger at this moment.
And Seoyeon knew it too, her nose buried onto Yooyeon's shoulder as discreetly as possible, just taking in her scent that made Seoyeon feel calm and safe. Her arms wrapping around the alpha tightly, wishing to never be pulled away from her—woah! Okay, that's a little too far now. They don't know each other properly yet!
But god, Seoyeon wants to be wrapped in the alphas arms even if it's just for a second. She couldn't believe her own thoughts, but they were there, almost itching at her to do it. To let go and let the alpha into the cave of her heart.
Seoyeon could feel every inch of Yooyeon's muscles work as she climbed the gate with ease, hopping over and landing on her two feet with a firm thud as Seoyeon had her eyes closed tightly, scared that she'd fall off Yooyeon's back somehow. Yooyeon chuckled at feeling choked by Seoyeon's arms around her neck. Seoyeon seemed so small that Yooyeon's instinct to protect her was flaring in her veins.
"I would let you murder me, but I don't want to be found dead in the midst of hopping the gate." Yooyeon teased and Seoyeon quickly let go of her, getting off with red cheeks. The Yoon Seoyeon is never supposed to be scared of anything, but now Yooyeon saw a part of her she didn't show at all. The alpha is already in her life too deeply. How could she ever let her walk away?
"Sorry, I just didn't want to fall off." Seoyeon scratched the back of her head as Yooyeon grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulder like nothing. Reaching out to grab Seoyeon's hand slowly, as if letting her pull away if she wanted to. But to both their surprise, Seoyeon met Yooyeon's hand half way and interlaced their fingers gently.
It was a perfect fit and something in Yooyeon was exploding, was it her heart? Maybe. Seoyeon on the other hand, felt her chest squeeze slightly. It was a dull ache, as if something that she was missing all along has finally come to her. Could Yooyeon be what she was missing her whole life?
Could Yooyeon truly be the one?
The question lingered in her mind as Yooyeon gently started to drag her away, their hands clasped together tightly, neither one of them wanting to let go. Her safety and life hanging from the hands of the woman looking at her with the softest of smiles.
Where was Yooyeon taking her?
Chapter 8: Chapter eight
Chapter Text
There were many places where Yooyeon could've taken her. But standing in front of a closed arcade was not what Seoyeon expected. She's never been to a place like this in ages. Her parents have tied her down to school and never really allowed her to experience the fun stuff in life.
"This arcade is owned by one of Sohyun's uncles. I used to work here during the summer before he took off and went abroad, leaving the arcade to be closed. But...he did mention that I was allowed to give it use with the group or with anyone special I trusted." Yooyeon said the last part a little too fast for Seoyeon to understand.
At the mention of Sohyun, the blonde girl frowned, ignoring what she didn't get to hear. "Hey, do you know what's going on between Sohyun and Xinyu?" Yooyeon looked at Seoyeon with an awkward smile. "They're worse than Nakyoung and Yubin, those two keep sleeping together with no label. Sohyun is seriously in love with Xinyu, but Xinyu hasn't met her halfway yet, well that's at least what she tells Sohyun." And Seoyeon's jaw dropped. Oh, Xinyu was going to get an earful!
"What is wrong with all of them?" Seoyeon muttered and Yooyeon chuckled softly. "I don't know honestly, but I hope they figure that out soon." Yooyeon said with a shrug as she took a step forward and took out a set of keys from her pocket.
Seoyeon could only watch as Yooyeon unlocked the lock and used another key to unlock the door. Opening it and gesturing for Seoyeon to walk in first. Such a gentlewoman. Yooyeon walked in right after, closing the door and locking it to make sure no one else came in thinking it was open. Or to make sure no one interrupts their quality time together.
Seoyeon watched the arcade come to life with a simple switch from where Yooyeon stood. Every machine lit up and the sound of the theme music ringed in her ears. The place was beautiful. And probably one of the best places Yooyeon could've taken her to. She was reliving memories she never lived in that moment.
A spark within her chest threatened to light a fire that she wouldn't be able to control.
"So, what if I say that I successfully kidnapped you?" Seoyeon let out a breathy chuckle as she turned around to look at Yooyeon with a soft expression. "God, you're strange but it's almost an annoyingly endearing thing about you." Yooyeon looked like a cute puppy standing at the entrance of the arcade. Looking scared to move closer to Seoyeon.
Yooyeon tried not to react to what Seoyeon had said but failed miserably as she smiled widely. Being complimented by Seoyeon was like receiving a gold medal for first place, her eyes disappearing and making Seoyeon smile too, unconsciously of course.
"You know, I'm not going to bite." Seoyeon said, walking towards Yooyeon that seemed to shake in fear. "You don't bite, but you do kick and that's worse." Seoyeon laughed as she stood before Yooyeon, looking up into those dark chocolate eyes that were filled with nothing but warmth. "Hey, I have reasons to!" Yooyeon smiled as she took a cautious step forward, entering Seoyeon's bubble, looking at her as if she was a trophy.
And maybe Seoyeon was a true trophy, Yooyeon is winning in life right now by having Seoyeon allowing her to be this close. Maybe all those late night study sessions are doing their good karma at the moment.
Seoyeon didn't take a step back to get away at all, she stayed there, almost frozen. Letting Yooyeon in to her personal space without regret. Eyes locked to those that belonged to a woman that's turning every part of Seoyeon's world around. In a good way? Definitely.
But there was a shift happening to her heart and she didn't know if that part was actual part of the plan. All Seoyeon was meant to do was give the jacket back to its rightful owner, and now she's here with an alpha that makes her heart race subtly.
Could she say that out loud?
"Has anyone ever told you that you're beautiful?" Seoyeon froze, her heart beating faster than before. "Don't try to be smart with your privileges, or I will kick you." Seoyeon said with a playful glare. Yooyeon chuckled softly before taking a step back, not knowing what went through her head to say that.
But still somewhat surprised that Seoyeon didn't get upset with her and pushed her back for overstepping her boundaries, it meant that Seoyeon was also trying to let her in, trying to make whatever they had going on work. But just how deep was Seoyeon going to let her in? As deep as friends? Or deeper than what either or expect?
Would Seoyeon let her into her heart?
Seoyeon watched Yooyeon's flushed expression, clearly baffled by her own actions. Seoyeon didn't say anything and just turned back around, taking a couple of steps forward towards the games. "So, this is your secret place?" She asked, trying to keep the vibe going. Yooyeon let out a calm hum. "This is kind of like a safe place for me and the group, we come here when we're free or whenever the world seems to be expecting too much from us." Seoyeon froze.
This place had a special meaning to Yooyeon, and she brought her here without a second thought, she was brining Seoyeon into her own world.
"It must be nice—having all these stuff to get distracted with." Seoyeon said, gesturing to the machines and Yooyeon chuckled. "I guess you can say that, we don't really use the machines. We usually go to the lounge and just hang out, play video games, or tackle each other to the ground." Yooyeon said, walking forward to stand next to Seoyeon that looked at every game with a glimmer in her eyes.
"The last time I've ever been to an arcade was when I was seven." Yooyeon didn't turn to look at her but Seoyeon knew she was going to listen. She didn't say anything either, knowing that she didn't have the words to take away any sadness from Seoyeon's heart. All she could do was offer her ears to Seoyeon.
"And then after that, never again. I was forced to focus on school and grow up. To be an adult when I was still a kid." Seoyeon said, feeling the heat radiating from Yooyeon's hand next to her own. She looked down, taking in how tensed up Yooyeon's hand was, she smiled to herself before she took hold of it carefully, testing out the waters and liking the feeling.
Yooyeon was going to explode in that moment, she wishes her friends could see this and pinch her (or punch, if it works more) so that she knows she isn't dreaming awake. Seoyeon was holding her hand so gently, almost too faint but it was there. Seoyeon moved a fraction bit more closer to her. "I missed out on all of this." Seoyeon whispered and Yooyeon looked over at her.
"Well, now you're here. Maybe it's time you live the moments that you didn't get to live." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon locked eyes with her, looking up at her with a grateful smile. Every time Yooyeon opened her mouth she'd leave Seoyeon with a new perspective of what she's thought to known all along.
What kind of alpha was Yooyeon? She was kind and comprehensive, soft spoken and compassionate. A little nerdy but funny in a weird way that made her perfect in Seoyeon's eyes.
A little too perfect that it almost didn't feel right.
Yooyeon softly tugged Seoyeon's hand and led her to where the front desk was, Yooyeon letting her hand go as she hopped over the desk and started to do god knows what with the register, throwing her backpack to the floor with a thud. Seoyeon stood on the other side, looking up at all the stuffed animals hanging on the walls. Yooyeon peeked at her and noticed where her eyes were.
"You want one? It's on the house." Yooyeon joked and Seoyeon shook her head fondly. "What if I said I wanted everything on that wall and there?" Seoyeon pointed to where the toys were stocked. Yooyeon smiled as she swiped some type of card on the card reader. "Then you can take them all, I'm sure no one will notice some things missing." Yooyeon said before turning towards the wall. Not noticing the way Seoyeon had melted as soon as those words left her lips.
A soft smile appeared on her face as she reached for something. Seoyeon looked over at her curiously as Yooyeon turned back around with a little keychain, a proud smile on her face. "I think this suits you." Yooyeon offered it to her and Seoyeon quietly took hold of it. There was a small punching glove hanging and Seoyeon couldn't hold in her laughter at the cute little thing.
"I think it suits me a little too well." Seoyeon said as she held the keychain against her chest, silently thanking Yooyeon with a soft smile. "I knew it! Anyway, an unlimited card for you to play." Seoyeon's eyes widened as Yooyeon placed a game card on the desk for her to take. "What?—no, that's too much." Seoyeon's surprised expression made Yooyeon smile. "Come on, just accept it and have your fun. Everyone deserves to have fun in an arcade more than once in their lives, and let me be a good part of the memory." Yooyeon said with a slight chuckle as she hopped over the desk once more.
Unintentionally, Seoyeon bit her lip because the scene alone was a little too attractive for her to handle. Yooyeon just had this natural alpha grace with everything she did. And she was Seoyeon's insanity—enough!
Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon, like very intently that it made a shiver run up Yooyeon's spine. There was a flash of something in her eyes but Yooyeon didn't know exactly what. Did she cross a boundary? Seoyeon didn't say anything for a couple of seconds before abruptly latching onto Yooyeon in a tight hug that surprised them both.
All of Seoyeon's thoughts and beliefs on an alpha disappeared. She only thought of Yooyeon and her kindness, the warmth radiating against her smaller frame. Yooyeon was frozen in place, not knowing if to hug her back or if to just stand there and let Seoyeon hold onto her for as long as she needed to.
But something in her chest told her to hug her back. So she did. Carefully wrapping her arms around Seoyeon, pulling their bodies together. And it might sound crazy to say, but Seoyeon fit perfectly against her, as if they were made to be like this. Two puzzle pieces.
"Thank you." It was a whisper but Yooyeon heard it perfectly. "For what?" She whispered back, Seoyeon didn't reply at first. "For just being—this." Yooyeon didn't know what 'this' was but she'll take it as a compliment. "You're too nice for your own good." Seoyeon said, pulling away from her but not letting Yooyeon go, her arms wrapped around her neck in an intimate way that made Yooyeon's wolf rejoice.
"You came into my life without warning, and you're everything I never expected you to be." Seoyeon said, she let one of her hands travel until her palm was cupping Yooyeon's cheek softly, smiling at the way Yooyeon leaned into her touch like a puppy.
"And I wish you could just stop making me feel all of these new things I shouldn't. I don't know you well enough to be like this—but my heart won't stop thumping at the thought of you. You're an alpha, the one thing I had always hated with my whole being. But you're doing everything I've yearned for in secret my whole life. You're letting me learn more about you and a reality I don't want to believe." Their eyes were locked onto each other. Yooyeon blinked twice before speaking, before dropping the question that could end it here.
"Do you want me to stop this?"
Yes, Yooyeon was in love. And she'd shoot her shot in the most loser way possible if she must.
Silence surrounded them for a minute too long, Yooyeon was sweating a river out of the nervousness or was the air off?
"Don't stop, I want to know all of you."
Chapter 9: Chapter nine
Chapter Text
Seoyeon was beating Yooyeon in every single game. The more Yooyeon tried, the more she brought out Seoyeon's competitive side. Not that she minded, she was in love with the happy noises Seoyeon let out every time she won. As long as she's happy, Yooyeon herself would be happy.
"I give up." Yooyeon groaned as she threw herself on the couch in the lounge area that Yooyeon and her friends have made over the months, a TV on the wall, a billiards table at the center, the couch Yooyeon was practically passed out on, board games and gaming sets on a shelf under the TV. It really looked like a place to hide away from the world.
"Are you tired already?" Seoyeon asked as she softly patted Yooyeon's back as she took a seat by her head. "I'm too old for this!" Yooyeon whined and Seoyeon couldn't help but let out a loud laugh at Yooyeon's behavior. God, she was a child stuck in that grown body. "Or are you embarrassed that I've beaten you in every single game now?" Yooyeon lifted her head quickly and shook it. Though she clearly sucks at games that don't involve her brain.
"I'm being kind and letting you win on purpose, it's called manners." Yooyeon said confidently and Seoyeon let out a giggle. "Being so kind that you threw the bowling ball backwards, and mannered enough to send the basketball across the arcade." Yooyeon stammered as she tried to come up with a perfect excuse but Seoyeon taking hold of her face with both her hands, shut her up real quick. Yooyeon might be a little too down bad for her but it's okay, Seoyeon deserves to have someone at her feet.
"I think your abilities are only in school related things." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon frowned cutely and Seoyeon couldn't help but lean down and rub their noses together, neither or really realized it since it felt so...right. When Seoyeon pulled away, Yooyeon stared up at her as if Seoyeon was the sun itself, or maybe an angel that came from heaven just for her.
"I can't believe you're that bad." Seoyeon joked and Yooyeon chuckled softly, enjoying this side of Seoyeon. The side that wasn't guarded and didn't calculate her every move and words, she was just herself. "I'm not that bad! I'm better at this than—okay, maybe I'm that bad." Yooyeon deflated and Seoyeon laughed, still holding Yooyeon's face between her hands.
"Can I ask you something?" Seoyeon suddenly said and Yooyeon frowned as she felt Seoyeon let go of her face. The alpha lifted herself up to sit properly. "Go ahead, I'll answer anything." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon turned to look at her with a softer expression. "You mentioned not having your father around—was it always like that?" Seoyeon asked and Yooyeon froze.
Her father was a topic that she didn't really speak about. Not even her own friends of years know anything about him. But Seoyeon suddenly asking about him made Yooyeon a little skeptical. But after all, she can't seem to keep anything from Seoyeon.
"No, he was around for a good while, around the time my sister turned three, he left." Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon with eyes that Yooyeon couldn't recognize. "What was he like?" Yooyeon didn't understand why Seoyeon was asking her this, but she guessed it's for a good reason.
"He was the typical alpha, aggressive and ego filled. Abusive to those he thought little of or those he knew he could dominate." Seoyeon frowned, what kind of man is that? "He would abuse my mother and me whenever he felt like it because he knew neither one of us could do anything about it. I was still so little to fight back anyway. He was trying to mold me to be like him but I had always been a little different. No matter how many times he would beat me, I never let those experiences teach me anything on who to be later on." Yooyeon let out a sigh.
"When Soomin was born, he was disappointed to know she was an omega, he went crazier. He never liked the idea of having weak children, and to him Soomin was only a burden with a path to misery and I was a lost case since I never seemed to be the alpha of his expectations. So he left and left my mother alone to deal with us both. And it was harder for her since I was an alpha, she didn't know what to do with me." Seoyeon kept listening to Yooyeon's story, feeling a sense of pity for her.
Yooyeon's life could've easily made her a bad alpha, but she decided not to be.
"When I was twelve, I had gotten severely beaten by a group of alpha boys from school. My mother blamed herself, even until this day for not being able to teach me how to be strong enough. But she never listened when I tried to tell her that I decided to be weak, that it was I that let them beat me until I couldn't stand. I didn't fight back that day, in that moment I realized that I never want to be like them and hurt others. I didn't want to fit into the stereotypes of alphas, I wanted to be good." Yooyeon said, a slight crack to her voice. And Seoyeon suddenly hugged her once more.
Yooyeon froze in Seoyeon's arms, she hasn't received a hug like this in ages. A hug that spoke of proudness and comfort. She sunk into the warmth of Seoyeon's body against her own, not tearing up but just taking in the moment.
"And now you're everything, Yooyeon." Seoyeon said muffled against her shoulder. "And I'm sorry I asked such a personal question, I just wanted to know a little bit more of your story—what made you be you." Seoyeon apologized and Yooyeon shook her head. "It's okay, I never really told anyone about this. So keep my story safe." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon nodded with a soft smile. "It'll always be safe with me." She whispered as she pulled back. Their eyes locking with the most softest gazes in them.
Maybe in that moment, they each realized that they have fallen for one another. But could they dare say it out loud?
"What about you? What's your story?" Seoyeon was taken back by Yooyeon's questions. Did Yooyeon want to know her story? "I mean—it wasn't that far off from yours. My father wanted an alpha, but I'm clearly not." Seoyeon chuckled bitterly before laying her head on Yooyeon's shoulder, finding comfort in the alpha's presence.
"His disappointment was never reflected through words but it was always in his actions. He treated me as if I was a stranger living with him that needed constant discipline. My mother always tried to reason with him because she knew that deep down he might've loved me enough to change, but he never did. He chose not to. He wasn't abusive in any manner really, but he sure did hurt me a lot through the decisions he made for me. My life wasn't mine, it was his. Showing me what an omega's life is, almost as if punishing me for being what I am. Being controlled by someone higher than me in this chain." Seoyeon said, looking at nothing in particular.
"That isn't right." Yooyeon muttered and Seoyeon smiled bitterly. "I know, but I always tried to speak my mind to let him know that I wasn't going to be like the rest of omegas. I was going to be stronger and clap back if I needed to. I stopped depending on him once high school was over and he didn't like the idea of an independent omega so he kept forcing his way back into my life to try and get control over it. And every time he tried, I would shut him down with venom coming out my mouth. I never let him control me and tell me how I should live my life. I was strong too, and I don't need an alpha." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon smiled.
"Is it wrong to say that I admire you for that?" Seoyeon lifted her head and locked eyes with Yooyeon again. "Being an omega isn't easy, I've been through everything with Soomin. I've protected her with everything in me for years and I've protected my mother too, I would die for them. But, sometimes I'll never really understand what life is like for them or for you, living with a fear or constantly thinking of the worst case scenarios. And I just can't help but feel proud that you've beat the cycle and stood up for yourself all these years." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon froze.
"When I would hear about you and what you would do to any alpha that got too close, I felt admiration for a woman that would never let herself get over powered by anyone." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon had tears in her eyes. Those words of admiration meant so much to her in that moment.
And Yooyeon knew that for sure, just by the way she was staring at her with the most understanding gaze in those brown eyes that have done something to Seoyeon. How much more perfect could Yooyeon get?
She has never heard anyone tell her that before aside from Yubin and her friends but coming from an alpha that didn't know her, and heard about everything she did, and found it admirable? That was something she couldn't believe and it made something swell in her chest. Was it pride? Or was it a feeling of being seen?
No one ever questioned her on why she would do it, they only judged her for being too 'bitchy'. But that was far from the case and someone saw that from the start. Yooyeon didn't question her actions, she only wondered the reason behind them. "Thank you." Seoyeon whispered and Yooyeon smiled. "You deserve to know that you're someone admirable, I'm sure Soomin would love to know your ways, she'd probably be your number one fan." Seoyeon chuckled as she wiped her tears away.
"What is she like? Aside from all the emo you mentioned earlier." Seoyeon asked, wondering if she would ever meet her. Would Yooyeon let her in that much? "Aside from also being crazy and chaotic, she's sweet. She loves to talk everyone's ears off and she genuinely tries to see the kindness in everyone though she knows the world itself is just cruel. She's definitely a little happy pill that wants to infect you with smiles." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon chuckled.
"So she really is a handful, but in a good way." Yooyeon nodded proudly. "That she is, but I love her too much even if she pulls on my hair whenever she likes because she knows I would do nothing about it." Seoyeon laughed at Yooyeon's eye roll. There was still a lot to know about Yooyeon, but Seoyeon knows that slowly, she'll know her soul.
A sudden questioned popped up in Seoyeon's head. "Do your friends judge me too?" She asked and Yooyeon choked on her own saliva and started to cough as if she was a dying patient. "No!—they just have opinions because they're intimidated by you but won't admit it out loud. We all are, I don't think you realize just how much I'm trying not to die here." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon chuckled whole heartedly.
"As long as it's not you, I'm okay with anything people say, they don't know me anyway." Seoyeon said, causing Yooyeon to smile softly. "And thank you for today, I never realized how much I needed this." Seoyeon gestured to the games and Yooyeon's smile widened. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, this place is for you too. If you want to come back one day, just let me know." In the midst of Yooyeon speaking, Seoyeon zoned out and stared at her.
A couple of seconds went by before her impulse took over, she leaned in and placed a kiss on Yooyeon's cheek. The alpha looked at her with wide eyes and jaw loose, face red as a tomato.
Seoyeon smiled before doing it again.
Yooyeon deserved the world and maybe a little more of kisses on the cheek.

Chapter Text
It took one week for something to go wrong.
Not necessarily to what they were forming in the shadows, but to Seoyeon and what she was starting to believe, to what she was starting to feel for Yooyeon.
What they had was blooming, Yooyeon kept letting her in to her world without a second thought. Hanging out at the back of the school in secret, taking her places after school as if she had all the time in the world for her, opening up about her life, showing her the vulnerability that exists within her and so on. Yooyeon was doing everything no other alpha would ever do for someone that was still learning to give in. Learning to trust.
And Seoyeon was trying too, slowly but she was trusting this—trusting Yooyeon. She was opening up about her life, letting Yooyeon hear stories that not even Yubin knew. Seoyeon was changing in a subtle way. She was starting to see alphas differently, but of course, they just had to prove her right and take her back a whole five steps. Or rather years.
It was like any other day, she was heading to the bathroom to take her mandatory two minutes of self reflexion time before she threw a binder at her teacher and got expelled for an attempt of murder. All she wanted was to not hear that monotone voice, sue her.
But...
The hallway was empty...too empty.
There was always a couple or two, maybe even four if you count the ones that are well hidden, making out in the middle of the hallway but today there was none. Instead there was an odd silence, not even skipping students were walking around.
She could sense it, something wasn't right. She looked around and saw no one, which made it creepier. She was scared but she believed that she was just being paranoid like usual when Yooyeon wasn't around. Whenever the alpha was away from her, a sense of fear crossed her every time at being alone without her safe place around.
And that was only adding fuel to the flames inside her heart. Yooyeon was becoming a big part of her life with so much ease. Day by day, Yooyeon was becoming her alpha. And that feeling brought dread to her.
Not because it was a bad thing, but because she didn't know what to do about it, if to tell Yooyeon how she feels. Like yes, Yooyeon is attentive of her in a way that clearly expresses a want for more than a friendship. But what if she's reading it wrong because Yooyeon is the first good alpha in her life?
She doesn't want to mess this up.
Seoyeon shook her head and tried to hurry her steps, walking faster, speed walking if you must say. She didn't understand why the bathrooms had to be so far from her class. She let out a huff as she made the turn around the corner, only to bump into someone. Seoyeon looked up and let out a deep breath as her past started to bubble underneath her skin.
Jake.
The alpha that she once trusted the most, gave her whole heart to. A chapter to her life that she swore she closed and forgot about. But maybe the trauma was never gone to begin with.
The reason why she hated alphas was standing right before her with that devilish look in his eyes. Her second heartbreak right after her father refusing to call her his daughter for being an omega, disowning her for her whole life and treating her like an obligation and stranger.
"Well, isn't it my little beauty?" Seoyeon took a couple of steps back to try and get away. Jake gave her a smirk as he forcefully grabbed her and brought her close. "Are you still scared?" He asked mockingly with a dangerous look in his eyes. Seoyeon knew in that moment that she was about to relive that damn night once more.
"It's been years, Seoyeon. You still look...pathetic and easy. I wonder if you gave your precious virginity to some punk." His tone was snarky. Seoyeon fisted her hands, Jake took notice and laughed at her face. "What? Are you going to hit me? I'm not like those weak little alphas that let a simple omega cause them trouble. You should know that." Oh, Seoyeon did know.
Seoyeon remembered it all. She could still feel it on her skin.
She remembers the way Jake ruined her life that night. The way he changed her to the person she was today. He left a scar deep in her soul. "Let me go, Jake." Seoyeon said with a snarl and Jake only laughed as he tugged her closer. "Being feisty? You know I like that, I loved the way you squirm in fear." And Seoyeon froze.
Her eyes catching the scar she left on his cheek that night, he was disgusting in every way possible that it was horrendous. She still wonders how she didn't see the signs before, how didn't she see that Jake was going to tear her apart? Seoyeon tried to tug her arm away but he was holding her tightly.
She was a lamb caught between the wolf's teeth.
"You ran away that night, Seoyeon. You escaped. But not today. It's been long overdue, I'm making sure no alpha will ever want you. I'm going to make you worthless. I’m going to destroy your stupid pride." And with that, he started to drag her far away harshly from the hallways and all she could do was try to tug her arm away hopelessly, her lips were sealed shut in fear.
It was a repeat all over again. Her hands were shaking as she shook her head in denial about what was going to happen.
That night flashed before her eyes as Jake threw her into a room that was dark and cold, a mere mimic of his room. The scenes in her mind were similar to what was happening then. She was shaking in fear as her body landed on the floor with a loud thud, silent tears were streaming down her face as Jake walked in and closed the door behind him. That mad look on his face as he quickly straddled her to pin her down to the ground.
She felt his hands on her, gripping onto her school shirt and tearing it right open, buttons went flying as his hands wondered down her body, reaching for her skirt and tearing it like a mad man.
"I'll make you undesirable, I'll make sure you can never escape me. I will be alive in your worst nightmares." He placed his lips over her own to muffle her quiet please of help, truly believing that Seoyeon had no one to save her.
But that wasn't the case.
Seoyeon closed her eyes and silently begged for Yooyeon to appear and save her. Though she knew that wouldn't be possible, Yooyeon was across campus, far away from the hell Seoyeon was in.
She wouldn't save her, right?
Seoyeon cried. Not because of what he was doing to her, but for what all of this was going to do to her, to her relationship with Yooyeon. She was starting to fall in love with that strange alpha that occupied her mind all day. That same alpha that made her feel happy.
It was all ruined.
She was ruined.
-
Across campus, Yooyeon was running through the hallways, looking for Seoyeon like a mad woman. Nien and Lynn following behind her, looking left and right into every room. Concern across their faces as they kept seeing no sign of her.
She was in the middle of class when Yubin had texted her, asking her if she knew where Seoyeon was or if they were hanging out and skipping class. Which clearly wasn't what was happening, and her gut was telling her instantly that Seoyeon wasn't okay, and her heart was yelling at her to search for her. She instantly started to search her down with Nien and Lynn as she had sent Yubin to the admins to try and get their help. Seoyeon just doesn't disappear or miss class.
She’s also a scholar with perfect attendance. This isn’t normal in any way. She was going to find Seoyeon no matter what, and if she’s okay that’s even better.
"She isn't anywhere, Yooyeon." They made a stop at one of the corners. Yooyeon could still feel it, Seoyeon was calling out for her from somewhere in this damn school that was too big for no reason. Yooyeon let out a deep breath. "Am I going crazy then? I can feel it in my heart and mind, she's in trouble." Nien gave her an understanding look.
"You're not going crazy, we have to keep looking for her. You don't just randomly feel this way on a random Wednesday, it's making you uneasy in a different way. I have a theory but that's for later, right now let's find Seoyeon first." Yooyeon nodded before she started to run again, the other two following behind, going up to every window to the classrooms, searching for signs. Seoyeon's scent at the tip of her nose, she knows she's close to her but just where is she?
Yooyeon kept running, following what was left of Seoyeon's scent. Right now she's grateful that she became a little obsessed with her scent, she can distinguish it so easily over the rest, her senses were heightened for it as well.
She was losing hopes of finding her, but then she heard it. It was faint, meant to be unheard but Yooyeon heard it loud and clear. It was a call of her name. Soft. A quiet plea for help. Yooyeon felt her heart drop as she came to a stop, a door to her right. Seoyeon's scent stronger than ever.
Lynn and Nien stopped behind her, realizing that Yooyeon had found her...just that they could also smell an alpha scent as well. They looked at Yooyeon who had her hands in fists, all three of them knew exactly what was going on. So without wasting a single second more, Yooyeon barged in without any warning.
And the sight before her made something in her twist in a psychopathic way. Seoyeon's eyes were shut close in clear fear as some guy was over her while her torn clothes hanged loosely on her body. It didn't take a genius to figure out what he was doing.
Yooyeon didn't even think once before she launched at him, tackling him to the ground and throwing rapid punches at him. Lynn and Nien didn't even bother trying to stop Yooyeon. Nien went over to Seoyeon who was shoving her away in fear and Lynn rushed out the door to call someone for help.
"I'm going to kill you!" Yooyeon's voice echoed around the room and hallway in a roar coming from the depth of her being when Jake tried to fight back but was at Yooyeon's complete maniacal mercy. She threw punch after punch, not even feeling the punches she was receiving back due to the adrenaline coursing through her.
And Seoyeon could only watch in horror.
Nien held her tightly as she also watched in complete shock, she didn't recognize Yooyeon at all. She looked down at the girl in her arms and hugged her, covering her eyes. Maybe it was all too much at once, or her emotions got the best of her. But Seoyeon could feel herself growing weaker, and so could Nien that called out for her in panic feeling Seoyeon’s weak body against her.
Everything around her started to fade slowly.
The last thing she heard was a snap of bones.
And her last thought was Yooyeon.
Chapter 11: Chapter eleven
Chapter Text
Yooyeon sat on the floor, next to the hospital room Seoyeon was in. Just patiently waiting for some news. Her head was hung low as she just kept replaying the scene she had seen, how scared Seoyeon looked and that made her alpha angry in a very bad way.
She doesn't know who that imbecile is, but once she figures out what his connection with Seoyeon is. She will make sure he wishes that he never messed with the love of her life. Yes, you heard her.
Seoyeon is the love of her life.
She just felt angry at the world now. She was starting to get close to Seoyeon, she was letting her in little by little every day and now it might all be ruined and Seoyeon wouldn't trust her anymore. Whatever they had built that week was gone now, Seoyeon was pulled back from the progress they've made together.
She let out a sigh as she leaned her back against the wall and stared at the ceiling. She was refusing to leave until she heard that Seoyeon has woken up and that she was okay, she's been there all night and her body is sore for sitting on the floor, her arm in a cast, and her face filled with stitches and wounds that ruined that perfect face people claimed she had. But she didn't care, she'd do it all over again for Seoyeon.
Things had gotten worse once Seoyeon had passed out, with a broken arm she fought against the asshole that dared to hurt her Seoyeon until all the grown ups appeared and separated them. She wasn't proud of her actions, but all she cared about in that moment was protecting Seoyeon from that piece of shit that she should've honestly strangled.
Yooyeon brought her knees to her chest, feeling so small at the moment. Realizing that this might be the past that had molded Seoyeon to who she was today. One alpha could really ruin it all for the rest. But Yooyeon would leave Seoyeon alone if it's what she most wanted to be able to heal from this—traumatic experience. She wouldn't want to be a reminder of what had happened.
She didn't notice when Yubin came to sit next to her. "You're still here?" The softness of her voice made Yooyeon flinch, she turned to look at Yubin who only looked at her with sad eyes. "I won't leave until I know that she has woken up and is in perfect conditions." Yooyeon said firmly, to make sure Yubin doesn't try to make her leave.
"You're too good, Yooyeon." The comment made Yooyeon furrow her eyebrows. "You know, she won't—she won't be ready to see you after she wakes up. She'd be too scared to handle your scent and all of you." The wording made Yooyeon's heart ache hardly. Yubin was being honest and realistic to prepare her if Seoyeon denies seeing her for the moment, so that maybe it'd hurt less. But both knew it was going to hurt regardless. Yooyeon loves Seoyeon, and that was about it. "I know, I just want to protect her, even by sitting from here. I'm not going to expect her to see me, but I just want her to know that I'm here for her even if it's from a distance that hurts." Yubin smiled sadly before laying her head on Yooyeon's shoulder.
She wished she could tell Yooyeon that it'd all be okay, that what she and Seoyeon had wasn't going to change. But she'd be lying and giving the alpha false hope.
"Thank you for what you did, Yooyeon. You have a broken arm and a fucked up face now." The last part made Yooyeon chuckle softly. "I did the right thing, Yubin. You don't have to thank me for that. And I would get my arm broken all over again if it meant to keep her safe and away from danger." Yubin chuckled softly at that. "She scored with you." Yooyeon shook her head.
"Stop idolizing what I do as the maximum. What I'm doing is the least that any other alpha should be doing. Seoyeon is the omega that I like and want as my partner, Yubin. I'd do anything for her, even die for her if I must. It's my rightful devotion as an alpha to my omega." Yubin's eyes widened at the confession. "You admitted it! Oh my god—you're so down bad, Yooyeon." Yubin lifted her head from Yooyeon's shoulder and pointed at her, causing Yooyeon to chuckle as she nodded.
"I can't deny that forever, I think I'm fully in love with her, and I know that right now isn't the time but it feels nice to let it out to someone." Yubin's eyes watered as she laid her head back down on Yooyeon's shoulder. "You two deserve each other so much." Yubin whispered and Yooyeon couldn't help but smile softly. Could this mean that Seoyeon might feel the same? She hoped so but then again, the current situation Seoyeon is in might throw everything off now.
"I'll go back inside, I'll tell you if anything happens. And please, try to go home, you aren't well either." Yubin said, lifting her head off Yooyeon's shoulder and standing back up slowly. Looking down at the alpha that looked so troubled and scared, it almost looked like Yooyeon could feel Seoyeon's pain.
A part of Yubin hopes that this doesn't change anything between them. Seoyeon was genuinely happy being around Yooyeon, her life was getting better. Everything within her was changing in a good way, Seoyeon was letting loose after so many years of guarding herself from everyone.
And with that Yubin walked back into Seoyeon's room, leaving Yooyeon alone with her thoughts.
When she walked in, Seoyeon was still sound asleep, a couple of cuts over her face but aside from that she was fine. She'd wake up soon. And hopefully that she'd want to see her savior.
Hours have passed by now, and Yooyeon was still there. Patiently waiting for Seoyeon to wake up so that she could be at ease. It was stated that Seoyeon had passed out during her panic attack. She is perfectly fine, just taking a good rest. At least that's what Yooyeon kept telling herself to ease herself from rushing into that room and checking on her herself.
"Yooyeon, come on. Soomin is worried." She looked up at Sohyun that had a bag of food in her hands and crouching down to be at eye level with her. "No, I'm not leaving, Sohyun. Go home." Yooyeon said, turning away from her friend so that she would leave her alone. She didn't want to leave, even if she hadn't eaten or drank anything in a whole day.
"Yooyeon, look at yourself. At least eat this." Sohyun placed the bag of food next to her but Yooyeon refused to look at it. If Seoyeon doesn't eat, how could she? Sohyun let out a sigh as she stood up straight. Looking down at her friend, it was almost as if Yooyeon was punishing herself. And maybe she was.
She should've been looking after Seoyeon more, she should've been more protective. She should've been there with her so that none of this would've happened.
"It isn't your fault, Yooyeon."
The words ringed in her ears, tears instantly swelling in her eyes as she finally looked at her friend again. "She wouldn't be here—I should've been there with her." Yooyeon said and Sohyun crouched back down and pulled Yooyeon into a hug. "You didn't know this was going to happen—god, you didn't even know she wasn't in class. Don't blame yourself for something that asshole did. It's his fault not yours." Sohyun said. Yooyeon only clung to her as she broke down like a baby.
Her emotions were all over the place and she finally found a shoulder to let it out on in the form of tears.
Sohyun looked up and saw Xinyu and all of Seoyeon's friends standing there watching the alpha break down. They never thought of seeing an alpha cry, they never thought an alpha could feel so much for someone.
Yooyeon was truly different.
Yooyeon was the one.
-
Seoyeon's eyes opened.
She felt a hand holding her own and her eyes moved, coming across Yubin that clearly looked like she had three meltdowns and six crash outs. And then by Yubin's side was Chaeyeon who looked dead. Neither one of them noticed that she had opened her eyes.
Seoyeon let out a wince at feeling a headache coming in. She couldn't really recall what had happened. "Where am I?" Chaeyeon and Yubin snapped their heads to look at her. "I'll get the doctor and let her know she's awake." Chaeyeon said as she gave Seoyeon's ankle a gentle squeeze before rushing out the room. Her loud self could be heard calling out for the doctor through the hallway.
Yubin patted her head softly. "You're in the hospital, Seoyeon—do you remember what happened?" Yubin asked softly. Seoyeon blinked twice before it all came back rushing to her. Jake. Seoyeon panicked and Yubin quickly took hold of her shoulders to calm her down. "He's gone, he's currently detained for an attempt of rape." Yubin said and the word alone made Seoyeon's eyes tear up instantly.
The memories of that night years ago flashed before her once more. Jake had tried to rape her then, and he tried again now. She always told herself that if she treated it like a bad memory, it wouldn't be true. That it never happened, but the past that shaped her caught up to her without remorse.
"He was going to try again, I-I thought I was over that night but I just relived it all over again. That look in his eyes was the same, that rough touch was still there." Seoyeon said as she started to sob and Yubin quietly took hold of her. "You'll be okay, Seoyeon. He's going to pay for what he did, if he already hasn't." Those words were meant to comfort but she didn't know if to believe them or not.
But she did believe that maybe this time, she'd get over it truly. That this time around, she wasn't going to let it shape her. She can't let his mark ruin everything again.
"Let me go outside and tell Yooyeon that you've woken up. Chaeyeon probably made it look like you passed away or something." At the mention of Yooyeon, Seoyeon pulled away abruptly and looked at Yubin with wide eyes. "She's here?" Seoyeon asked with shock and Yubin nodded. "She's been here day and night, sitting outside on the hallway floor just waiting for you to wake up." Yubin said with a soft smile that made Seoyeon's heart ache slightly.
Yooyeon, her alpha. Her savior.
"I-I want to see her." Seoyeon said before her mind even processed the thought. "Seoyeon, are you sure? Not to be a buzzkill...but you just—okay, I shouldn't question it." Seoyeon knew that Yubin was just looking out for her. But Seoyeon knew what she wanted and what she was asking for at the moment.
Seoyeon wasn't scared of Yooyeon, she never has been. That strange alpha has been comfort from the start. She knew that maybe it wasn't the right thing to want right now, but Seoyeon needed to see Yooyeon, to see if she was okay too. That's the love of her life out there, how could she leave her in the blank?
Yubin let out a sigh as she took hold of Seoyeon's hand. "I don't know if she'll come in, that woman is scared of being a reminder of what happened. So if she doesn't come in, don't be upset with her, she's just protecting you in the way she knows best." Yubin said and Seoyeon felt her heart ache all over again.
She only watched as Yubin stood up and walked out the room. She could hear her talking to someone outside in the hallway.
And that's when she picked up the scent.
Yooyeon was walking in
Chapter 12: Chapter twelve
Chapter Text
When their eyes locked, Seoyeon felt something lifting off her shoulders as Yooyeon stood at the end of the room, placing a bag on a table by her side. Eyes full puppy mode as her head was slightly hung low. Seoyeon would've thought she looked adorable if it wasn't for the fact that she saw her arm in a cast.
"Y-Yooyeon, what happened?" Seoyeon gestured to her arm, and when Yooyeon finally looked up, a part of Seoyeon's heart broke seeing her so beat up, and all because of her. "My arm snapped in a wrong move when he blocked my punch." Yooyeon said softly, scared that if she spoke too loud she'd break Seoyeon, or if she said something wrong that would snap Seoyeon back to that awful moment.
"Your face..." Yooyeon gave her a soft smile. "You should see him—wait, no—don't see him. Bad joke, I'm sorry." Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon with amusement, a small smile forming on her face. Sometimes Yooyeon's strangeness helps bring the mood up a bit in the worst of moments. And she's grateful of that. Always.
"Come closer." Yooyeon shook her head abruptly. "No, I don't—you're still recovering from the moment. I don't think it's right for me to be too close to you yet. I can overwhelm you with my scent alone." Seoyeon felt her heart swell, how was Yooyeon so perfect? Instead she extended her hand. If only Yooyeon knew that all Seoyeon wanted to do was to bury herself in Yooyeon's scent. "I know what I was asking for when I told Yubin that I wanted to see you." She whispered and Yooyeon couldn't deny Seoyeon of anything really. She was so down bad that it was so obvious.
Seoyeon knew she was by now, Yooyeon obeyed her without hesitation, no matter what she would ask for or want. Yooyeon would give without thinking it twice.
Yooyeon took careful steps towards the hospital bed, taking a seat at the edge, further away from Seoyeon than she wanted. But the blonde girl took what she could. Yooyeon was too much of an angel to get closer to her right now. "A-Are you okay?" Yooyeon asked, looking at her softly and Seoyeon smiled.
"I am now that you're here." Seoyeon said with too much rawness that Yooyeon's heart did a skip of faith, she felt it banging against her ribcage to be let out so that it could snuggle Seoyeon with love. "Cheesy." She muttered cutely and Seoyeon let out a laugh.
Yooyeon looked at her softly, Seoyeon noticed and felt her heart strings being tugged. "Thank you, for saving me." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon didn't say anything for a second before she suddenly laid down awkwardly, her head on Seoyeon's stomach. The blonde girl froze, this is the most bravest thing Yooyeon has ever done but she couldn't help the smile that formed on her face. "I did what anyone else would've done." She muttered and Seoyeon silently looked at the top of her head.
She wished Yooyeon could see what makes her so special, so different. It wasn't just because she respected omegas. But it was her feelings, her logic, her emotions that were softer and more vulnerable. Everything about Yooyeon was just...perfect.
Yooyeon kept surprising her in every way she could. The softness in Yooyeon's gesture was slowly torturing Seoyeon's heart in a good way. Yooyeon was gentle and sweet with her, and apparently very cuddly too. She wanted to wrap her arms around Yooyeon and squeeze the air out of her.
She carefully reached out and ran her fingers through Yooyeon's hair softly, the alpha flinched but later sunk further into Seoyeon. The tension on her shoulders and body leaving. "No, no one else would've done that for me. You did it without thinking about it twice, without care that he might've been taller or stronger." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon propped her head up and look at Seoyeon, her chin resting against Seoyeon's stomach.
Seoyeon's fingers had a mind of their own, tracing along Yooyeon's jaw with fondness, a touch so intimate if you squinted. "My only thought in that moment was you. Wanting you to save me. And you did." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon's puppy eyes widened slightly. "I knew something wasn't right, I was searching you down. Something in my heart was telling me to look for you even under the rocks if I had to." Yooyeon said, laying her head down again.
This is her new favorite place.
"I was scared." Yooyeon admitted in a whisper. Seoyeon's lips parted as she ran her hand through Yooyeon's hair again. "When I saw him over you—I lost sight of myself and in that moment I wanted to hurt him...so badly. He shouldn't have dared to put a single finger on you. When I saw the fear in your eyes something in my heart broke and it turned into a rage to protect you." Yooyeon's hushed voice barely made it to Seoyeon's ears.
"But I was most scared of losing you on the aftermath, now that we have built something. I don't know what we are or aren't, but I don't want to ever lose you, Seoyeon. You mean a lot to me, and I don't think my life would really mean anything anymore without you." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon's eyes teared up. God, can Yooyeon just kiss her already?—wait what? Okay maybe not that part just yet, but you get the point.
"You'll never lose me, Yooyeon. You don't deserve for me to give up on you because of a past I thought I had long forgotten. And I don't know what we are either, but I want you to know that I'm in this boat with you until we find shore somewhere—anywhere. I care too much about you to let you go anyway. You're kinda stuck with me now." Yooyeon froze, Seoyeon felt it at the tip of her fingers.
Seoyeon's words made Yooyeon's head spin, could this mean what she thinks it means? That they're both navigating through something that could be mere love?
"We're stuck with each other." Yooyeon said, her eyes fluttering shut as Seoyeon kept drawing shapes on her scalp. She was tired but refused to close her eyes fully, scared that something would happen again. She wouldn't forgive herself this time. "Are you hungry? Sohyun brought me food but I haven't touched it, we can share?" Yooyeon raised her head and gestured to the bag she had set down when she walked in. Seoyeon smiled as she gave her a small nod, her stomach growled too.
Yooyeon smiled, a little hesitant to sit up. Seoyeon looked at her questioningly. Yooyeon didn't say anything as she finally sat up, standing up and heading to where the bag was. Taking hold of it and then looking back at Seoyeon. "There is a tiny problem." Seoyeon snorted at the way Yooyeon moved her casted arm around in a funny way.
"Looks like I'll be taking care of you." Seoyeon said as she sat up, fixing the posture of her bed as Yooyeon walked over to the little stand by the bed and placed the bag down at Seoyeon's reach. "I'm sorry, I'm supposed to be taking care of you, not the other way around." Yooyeon mumbled as she tried to get the trays out but Seoyeon extended her hand and placed it over Yooyeon's bigger hand.
A second or two passed by, the touch was electrifying enough to make Yooyeon's knees buckle just the slightest bit. Seoyeon noticed and couldn't help but bite her lip to hold back the smile she was going to let out. Yooyeon was such an obvious little alpha, she was such a loser if Seoyeon was honest. But the kind of loser she sees herself tripping over of in every life.
"Alphas can be taken care of too, you know." Seoyeon stated and Yooyeon froze as she looked at Seoyeon with an awkward expression. "But not in this kind of situation! I should be feeding you your food." Yooyeon muttered the last part and Seoyeon shook her head fondly as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed. She looked at Yooyeon that stood there awkwardly as she reached for some chopsticks in the bag.
Seoyeon patted the spot next to her where the table still reached and Yooyeon looked at her taken back. "You shouldn't eat while standing up, sit down next to me." Seoyeon said, and once again, Yooyeon couldn't seem to say no as she slowly sat next to Seoyeon. She could feel her blood pressure rising, and her heartbeat pounding.
She could feel her ears being on fire as their shoulders brushed when Seoyeon reached for her own pair of chopsticks. Someone help Yooyeon before she combusts and falls apart in front of the woman she's in love with. It'd be embarrassing.
Seoyeon noticed that Yooyeon had gone silent and couldn't help but smile as she decided to make things worse by laying her head on Yooyeon's shoulder, even scooting a bit closer so their legs were pressed against each other. Yooyeon has officially started to malfunction.
Seoyeon could feel Yooyeon's frozen state and let out a giggle that Yooyeon seemed to have understood. "You—you're evil." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon lifted her head off Yooyeon's shoulder and laughed as she looked at her with soft eyes. "It's fun because you're obvious about it, but I like it." Seoyeon said as if nothing and went to take a bite of her food.
Yooyeon looked over at her, completely taken back. "What do you mean?" She asked and Seoyeon chewed on her food cutely before looking back at Yooyeon. "I like how you can't hide your nervousness around me, the fact that you never say no, and your strangeness. I like you." Seoyeon dropped the bomb like nothing.
Yooyeon on the other hand exploded and shot up, banging her knee on the table, almost knocking it down along with their food. Seoyeon laughed at the expression on Yooyeon's face but also couldn't help but blush at her own confession. "Y-You like me?" She asked in utter shock.
Out of all people, Seoyeon liked her? Someone pinch her!
"It's kind of hard not to." Seoyeon said with a shrug and Yooyeon was truly going to faint. "H-How—why?" Yooyeon was still in shock. She never thought that Seoyeon would confess to her or even actually feel something for her. Seoyeon deserved someone better than her.
Someone smack her for believing that!
"You're everything, Yooyeon. Falling for you was the easiest thing that has ever happened to me. From the moment I woke up with your jacket over me, my life was bound to you in some odd way." Seoyeon said as she also stood up, going over to where Yooyeon stood like a scared cat. Clearly wanting to shrink when Seoyeon got too close.
She reached out for Yooyeon's hand and held it softly. "I never meant to fall for you, but it just happened. I don't know if you feel the same or not, or if I'm the one going crazy. But I just wanted you to know that." Yooyeon was still silent, until out of nowhere she tugged Seoyeon towards her and wrapped her arms around her tightly. "Am I dreaming?" She whispered and Seoyeon shook her head with a wide smile on her face.
"I've fallen for you too. It was something about the way you carried yourself that intrigued me, or maybe because you're honestly the most beautiful woman I've ever laid my eyes on and my heart instantly chose you because why wouldn't it? You're perfect." Yooyeon confessed and Seoyeon could feel her heart swelling in happiness.
Yooyeon thinks she's perfect? That makes her heart swell even more.
They pulled away, looking at each other with a love that they haven't said out loud just yet. Seoyeon reached out and took hold of Yooyeon's cheek. "I'm glad that it was with you who I fell for." Seoyeon said honestly and Yooyeon smiled at her softly, leaning into her touch like the puppy she is for her.
They both had started to lean in, noses barely touching, lips just centimeters away—
"Oh my god, my eyes!"
Chaeyeon and Yubin stood at the door with their eyes covered by their hands and screams erupting from them.
Yooyeon and Seoyeon turning red.
Chapter 13: Chapter thirteen
Chapter Text
Seoyeon was out the hospital, already back in class. She could hear the students muttering about what had happened, but mostly heard Yooyeon's name being said the most.
"God, she's so hot! I wonder if Seoyeon and her are a thing—since she saved her and all that. If they aren't, I'll make my move now. I want her to protect me that way too!" A girl behind her said and Seoyeon was truly about to turn around and punch her.
After their almost kiss, Yubin and Chaeyeon asked them to spill the tea and how they ended up in almost sealing their love. And then after the two girls left, Yooyeon asked her if she could court her. She insisted that she wanted to do everything the right way, taking it slow for Seoyeon. To show her what true love and care is. And how could Seoyeon say no to that?
And now they act like a couple fully in love, at least when they are alone. Yooyeon is still letting Seoyeon be the one to launch their somewhat relationship when she was ready.
So now here they are, Yooyeon at the back of the class, probably too immersed in her school work to really notice what was being said, and Seoyeon? Internally dying with the thought of some other girl trying to get at Yooyeon.
And with that thought alone she stood up, making the girl behind her flinch. She only gave her a threatening look before she looked away and went to the back of the class, everyone's eyes on her. "Could it be that Yooyeon was the lucky alpha to get with Seoyeon?" She heard someone whisper. She smiled to herself before she came to stand before Yooyeon's seat mate.
Jealousy could really make an omega dangerous, especially one named Yoon Seoyeon. Everything after that day made something shift in Seoyeon. She was being brave, maybe because she truly wanted to try for Yooyeon. To show her that she was being real about what she felt.
"Scram." The boy didn't hesitate to stand up and run away. Yooyeon who was clearly immersed in her essay didn't notice anything that was going on beside her. It wasn't until Seoyeon sat down and took hold of the back of her neck in a possessive manner. In a way that clearly meant intimacy and something only she could do.
"W-What is—Seoyeon?" Yooyeon questioned not bothered by the hold Seoyeon had on her, but confused as to why she was suddenly sitting next to her. She looked around and could see everyone looking at them and murmuring god knows what.
What she was gong to do next was going to kill them. And maybe that was the goal. She was evil when you really thought of it.
Seoyeon didn't say anything for a couple of seconds before leaning in and kissing her cheek and catching the corner of Yooyeon's lips in the act, the alpha leaning into the kiss instinctively to her omega as her eyes shuttered close. Seoyeon kept her lips there for a second too long, marking what was hers. When she pulled away, she sweetly smiled at Yooyeon and wiped her lipstick off Yooyeon's skin affectionately.
Yooyeon's eyes were wide as she was now frozen in place. Seoyeon turned to glance at the classroom that had gone awfully quiet and couldn't help but smile to herself before turning back to Yooyeon. "W-Why?—what?" Seoyeon couldn't help but chuckle as she gave Yooyeon's neck a comforting squeeze that instantly relaxed the alpha.
And the sound of a shriek coming from one of the girls snapped everyone back to reality, some guys falling off their chairs, other girls grabbing their hair in distress, and others rubbing their eyes to make sure they didn't hallucinate the whole interaction. All of their chances were now zero. And honestly, not like they ever had one to begin with.
Yooyeon looked at Seoyeon with soft questioning eyes but Seoyeon answered with a head shake and then gestured for her to go back to typing her essay. Yooyeon dropped it and scooted herself a little closer to Seoyeon because she needed to be close to her or she'd explode, and maybe because she wanted to be under her touch forever. God, Yooyeon was adorable that Seoyeon wanted to put her inside her pocket if it was even possible to do.
Yooyeon didn't question anything else. She went back to typing on her computer like before just that now she is surrounded by Seoyeon's scent, letting Seoyeon stroke the back of her neck with delicateness that made her want to go to sleep. She realized that Seoyeon just launched out their relationship to the class. Why? She doesn't know but doesn't care. She's happy Seoyeon is claiming her publicly in some way, because she wouldn't know how to hold herself back if anyone else tried to approach Seoyeon.
Seoyeon didn't say anything either, she sat there, now playing with Yooyeon's baby hairs underneath the thickness of her hair. Just feeling content with the moment she was in, being next to someone that would let her bite her playfully and not say anything about it.
"Your hair is so soft." Seoyeon commented and Yooyeon let out a soft chuckle. "On good days only, every other day it probably looks like a tornado passed through." Seoyeon let out a smile, the whole class gasping at the expression. Did Seoyeon just smile to an alpha? What the hell was going on, and what happened to the real Seoyeon who would've made Yooyeon fold in pain?
Seoyeon gave the class a glance as they quickly looked away as if they weren't being nosy people. She let out an eye roll and wrapped her arms around Yooyeon, fully in love with her as she rested her head on Yooyeon's shoulder, peeking at the essay she was writing. This moment felt so normal—as if she's done this a million of times already.
"You're acting weird." Yooyeon's head came to land above her own and Seoyeon's giggle came out at her words. "Have you not been paying attention to what is being said about you?" She asked and she felt Yooyeon shake her head. "I think all the girls want a piece of you." Seoyeon said and Yooyeon jerked her head back in surprise. "You're kidding?" Seoyeon shook her head before lifting it off her shoulder and reaching for Yooyeon's face and making her look at her.
"And I don't like others wanting my alpha." Yooyeon felt her cheeks heating up and her heart beat racing as she locked eyes with Seoyeon. She started to cough uncontrollably when Seoyeon's lips formed into a smirk that meant she knew what the hell she was doing to Yooyeon in that moment. "T-That's—what are you doing?" Yooyeon was barely able to speak. Seoyeon smiled and pulled her to her and hugged her tightly as if she wasn't messing with her to begin with.
"I'm doing nothing, just reminding you that you belong to me now." Seoyeon said innocently but Yooyeon was shaking in fear because this is Seoyeon saying a threat in that honey voice of hers that was meant to manipulate you and make you think she wasn't going to kill you but was secretly going to the moment you let your guard down—
It took a day for Yooyeon to figure that out when Seoyeon smiled too innocently when some girl had approached her. And said something along the lines of 'You are mine, don't forget that!' Yeah, Yooyeon hasn't forgotten the threatening look in those brown eyes she adores with her whole being.
Seoyeon felt Yooyeon's frozen state and couldn't help but nuzzle her face on her shoulder cutely. She doesn't know why it's so...easy to be like this with Yooyeon. She can clearly see her alpha hating image crumbling before her. She felt safe and comfortable to act whichever way she wanted because deep down some part of her knew that Yooyeon wouldn't care at all and let her do whatever she wanted.
Yooyeon's alpha ego wasn't fragile, it took Seoyeon a couple of days to figure that out. Yooyeon wasn't easily triggered, Seoyeon could literally manhandle her and she'd smile like it was the most normal thing Seoyeon could do to her.
Seoyeon even babied her when they're alone and Yooyeon doesn't seem to give a single fuck and lets Seoyeon pinch her cheeks as if she was a baby.
And as class came to an end, Seoyeon never let Yooyeon go. Maybe it was because she still felt a little overwhelmed to be back at school so soon, or maybe it's because she just might be a little obsessed with Yooyeon and her scent.
She knew that the news of her interaction with Yooyeon was going to spread like wildfire, but she didn't think that the whole school would know by the time the bell rung and they walked side by side. Shoulders brushing, hands seeking to reach out, and eyes that couldn't seem to look away from one another.
The hallway filled with students that stilled as they all looked at them with utter disbelief. That has to be the headline for the week because who knew that Seoyeon would ever soften to any alpha. And out of all of them, it was Yooyeon. The quiet nerd at the back of every class.
The alpha felt self-conscious, Yooyeon knew that Seoyeon deserved the world and more, but she didn't know if she herself deserved to be with Seoyeon. Have you seen her? She is so out of her league but Yooyeon was going to be selfish anyway. Love makes you that way.
Seoyeon finally linked their arms together and a squeal erupted from someone, probably a girl in agony now that Yooyeon was clearly taken—though they're in the courting stage only. Seoyeon didn't care, she was claiming Yooyeon from now on.
They continued peacefully walking, ignoring everyone and heading straight to the cafeteria until they saw two friend groups at the end of the hallway with piercing gazes making them come to a stop. Seoyeon and Yooyeon turned to look at each other and then back at them. "I think we're in trouble." Yooyeon muttered as she reached for Seoyeon's hand for moral support.
"Oh, I know we are." Seoyeon muttered in response as she took a step back along with Yooyeon. They were backing up slowly until they heard a call of their names and a giant group of people making the run towards them as if they were prey, it almost seemed animated.
Yooyeon and Seoyeon looked at each other once and blinked before swiftly turning on their heels and making the run for it as they were being chased by beasts down the hallway.
Seoyeon and Yooyeon laughing as their hands were still interlaced.
Cute, isn't it?
Chapter 14: Chapter fourteen
Chapter Text
After coming clean to their friends about their building relationship, the group was completely out of control. Some of them made bets, others were trying not to pass out, (Kotone was fanning herself as Jiwoo held her with an annoyed expression wanting to be in her girlfriend's arms) and then the rest were flirting each other up. (Cough cough: Hayeon and Chaewon.)
Yooyeon and Seoyeon could only look at the mess they made. "What have we done?" Seoyeon whispered and Yooyeon only held her hand softly. "I don't know, but what if we just played Cupid?" Yooyeon gestured to Lynn and Jiyeon that were leaning against the wall with a slight pink tint on their cheeks.
Seoyeon smiled as she laid her head on Yooyeon's shoulder. Seoyeon wasn't familiar with any of Yooyeon's friends, but Yooyeon trusted them, which for some reason made her trust them too. They seem okay, maybe missing a couple of screws as she watched Jiwoo and Nakyoung were now trying to catch hands over who had the prettiest girl. (Nakyoung and Yubin finally called truce and have gotten together.)
Yooyeon next to her wanted to join in because Seoyeon was the prettiest of them all, she'd win easily. Plus, they'd be too scared of Seoyeon to disagree.
"God, they're so weird. I'm sorry." Yooyeon mumbled but Seoyeon couldn't care less. They were weird, but...it made them more humane in some way. "Don't apologize, they're kind of funny." Seoyeon said as she now watched Sohyun and Kaede going back and forth about who would win against a bear. Strange topic to argue about, but hilarious seeing their faces as they explained how they'd fight it.
Seoyeon looked at her own friends and couldn't help but smile. "Mine are weird too." Yooyeon looked over at Xinyu that was looking at her phone camera and posing as Mayu was next to her complaining in Japanese, Dahyun trying to hit a high note for some odd reason, Yubin was by Nakyoung's side cheering her on to fight Jiwoo. Such a bad influence.
If you're wondering where they're at, they're now in the arcade. After managing to get their hands on the love birds, the alphas dragged everyone to the arcade to interrogate Yooyeon and Seoyeon.
Nien could be seen furiously pressing the buttons of a machine as she let out an ear piercing scream, meaning she lost the game and her pride. Everyone turned to look at her in concern and she let out a nervous laugh. "Sorry." Jiwoo and Kotone went over to her to make fun of her for losing, so comforting!
"You know, I hope our friends get along well. It seems fun to be like this." Yooyeon said and Seoyeon nodded. "Just our friends alone make a whole classroom of chaos and flirting." Yooyeon let out a chuckle as they could see Chaewon turning red at Hayeon's antics.
They honestly felt like parents in that moment as they just watched in silence for a couple of seconds, not knowing at who to look at because everyone was doing something utterly chaotic at some point. They could both see Hyerin trying to punch the punching machine with Soomin trying to hold her back.
"Were you ready?" Yooyeon asked as she reached out for Seoyeon's hand that welcomed hers without second thought. Their fingers interlacing instantly as if it were home. Seoyeon raised her head and looked at Yooyeon confused. "Ready for what?" She asked and Yooyeon looked back at her.
"To announce what we have. Or was it all just kind of impulse and you're regretting it now?" Seoyeon felt her heart shatter at that broken look in Yooyeon's eyes. How could she ever regret showing her off? Seoyeon reached up with both her hands and held Yooyeon's face gently. "How could I possibly regret that?" She asked softly and Yooyeon looked at her so in love.
"I don't know. Like it isn't your usual scene and you had a reputation going on that you had a high pride of. I just thought that you were out of your own comfort zone now." Seoyeon smiled widely, Yooyeon was just so fucking perfect that it hurt. "I don't care about that, I care about you and that's my pride now. You." Seoyeon said as she leaned in to kiss the tip of her nose. Yooyeon smiled widely as she wrapped an arm around Seoyeon and pulled her close like she couldn't get enough of her.
Seoyeon giggled as Yooyeon hid her face on her neck. She could hear some gagging coming from the other side of the arcade and she could see all eyes on them. Kotone and Nien now acting like support to each other as they gagged and the rest of them looking genuinely disgusted but at the same time admiring what they had.
"They're staring." Seoyeon muttered and Yooyeon lifted her head and looked over, flinching when she saw all of them looking her way. "Should I be terrified?" Yooyeon asked as she could see Xinyu looking at her intently. "She's just jealous." Seoyeon said but the tall woman heard her. "I am not! I have a hot girlfriend too." And everyone gasped, are her and Sohyun finally together?! "Nuh uh, I have the hottest girlfriend!" Chaeyeon chimed in as she held Jiwoo's face and showed it off to everyone.
Seoyeon stood up, making everyone freeze. "Yooyeon is the hottest one here, so double suck it!" Yooyeon bursted into laughter at everyone's faces. Who knew that Seoyeon could be a little comedian herself? Xinyu was the first to react as she walked to Seoyeon. "Trying to fight me?" She asked playfully and Seoyeon smirked as she tried to square up.
"Okay! Everyone has got girlfriends, there's no need to rub it towards the singles!" Lynn was the one to say, not seeing the way Jiyeon was looking at her. Kotone chimed in too. "Yeah, not all of us has our own hotshots we can show off." She said, oblivious that her own hotshot named Mayu was looking at her.
Seoyeon went back to sit next to Yooyeon, interlacing their hands together as Yooyeon scooted closer to her, needing to be all over Seoyeon to be satisfied, to survive. The omega didn't mind at all, Yooyeon's scent rubbed off on her which was honestly the goal for both.
And if Seoyeon was honest, she was happy like this.
Next to Yooyeon and chaos of their friends.
-
A couple of weeks have gone by, and everything was going amazing. All of their friends were happy for them and they all even got close with each other as a group of 24 people, which was crazy. Some of them wanting to murder the other and others trying to get with each other like the freaks they are. (Chaewon and Hayeon were getting there.)
Seoyeon looked over at Yooyeon with a nervous smile. "Do I look okay?" She asked and Yooyeon gave her a warm smile as she reached up to brush a strand of her hair off her forehead. "You look beautiful, but I doubt my mother cares about that. You could walk in there in your sleeping attire and she'd call you the most beautiful woman to exist. She wouldn't be lying." Yooyeon said with honesty, Seoyeon blushing at the compliment.
She had mentioned that before they officially get together, she wanted Seoyeon to meet Soomin and her mom. The two most important people in her life and Seoyeon would never say no. It was an important thing for her too, needing to thank them for raising Yooyeon this way.
But what Seoyeon didn't know, was that tonight would be the night Yooyeon asks her the big question too. Yooyeon was serious about Seoyeon and she could no longer go around just courting her, she wants to make them official and show her off as her girlfriend to the world.
Yooyeon leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Seoyeon's forehead and smiled at her like always. Seoyeon melting at the soft gesture she has grown used to. "Come on, I'm sure Soomin is already by the door jumping in place." And before she could even raise her hand to knock, the door swung open, revealing a girl that looked a lot like Yooyeon just a bit shorter and smiley. "Oh my god—mom, your future daughter in law has arrived and she's beautiful as the universe—I cannot believe Yooyeon was capable of getting someone this stunning and breath taking—I'm going to pass out, someone blow me air!" Soomin let out in one breath and Seoyeon looked at her amused.
Yup, just as chaotic as Yooyeon had mentioned.
Yooyeon reached for her sister and had her in a playful headlock in a second as Soomin squealed for help. "Mom!" She shrieked and Seoyeon couldn't help but laugh as Yooyeon rolled her eyes, moving Sooming out the way so that Seoyeon could walk in. And as Seoyeon did, Soomin smiled at her widely before going back to getting Yooyeon to let her go.
"Yooyeon, let go of that little brat, she just wants to—oh my god, who's this stunning beauty?!" Yooyeon's mom shrieked out as she instantly went to hold Seoyeon's face with gentle hands. "She's beautiful!" Ms. Kim complimented and Seoyeon was turning red. "Mom, you're embarrassing her." Yooyeon said as she let go of Soomin that dramatically heaved for air with her hand reaching out to nothing.
"Oh, you better marry her and she has nothing be embarrassed of with that beauty!" Yooyeon's mom shrieked and Yooyeon started to choke as Seoyeon kept turning red at the attention and words. God, was this her future family? Seoyeon was all in for it if it was the case. It almost felt like she was truly home.
Seoyeon could only look at Yooyeon with love in her eyes as Soomin tried to calm Yooyeon's coughing down. "Mom!—I don't think it's time to talk about that just yet." Yooyeon said, giving Seoyeon an apologetic look as she closed the door behind them. "Any time is a good time for this topic, Yooyeon. Haven't I taught you that it's one for life?" Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon with wide eyes. "I know." Yooyeon grumbled as she went over to Seoyeon and wrapped an arm around her respectfully.
"Okay, let me introduce you guys properly now. Mom, Soomin—this is Yoon Seoyeon, the woman of my dreams and whom I've been courting for the past month and a half. And Seoyeon, this is my mother and crazy little sister named Soomin." Yooyeon said as she gestured to Seoyeon that gave them an awkward smile. Soomin letting out a whine to the way Yooyeon described her.
Yooyeon's mother smiled widely as she looked at them both. "It's nice to meet you, Seoyeon. Please excuse our first impressions, I guess you could say we aren't so normal of a family." She said and Seoyeon quickly shook her head. "It makes you the best, trust!" Seoyeon said nervously and Yooyeon squeezed her shoulder softly to offer her comfort.
"She likes me, mom. And I'm not your most normal alpha to exist." Yooyeon said, turning to look at Seoyeon with a glint that made Seoyeon's stomach do backflips as she couldn't hold back a smile that meant her words were true.
"Being normal is overrated anyway." Seoyeon said, looking directly into Yooyeon's eyes before turning back to Ms. Kim who clasped her hands together in adoration. "You got that right, darling. The norm isn't so fun nowadays." She said and Soomin spoke up. "But why do I get called weird?" She asked completely clueless and Yooyeon reached out to flick her forehead. "There's a difference, you're outright strange."
Soomin whined as she took hold of Yooyeon hair and pulled her away from Seoyeon, the older girl reaching out for the love of her life like she'd die if she doesn't get to be next to her again.
Ms. Kim could only let out a sigh as she linked arms with Seoyeon, watching as the two sisters somehow managed to be on the floor now, rolling side to side, fighting as if their life's were on the line. "I don't know what to do with those two anymore, they're my headache. Come on, the table is all set up, the food will snap them out of the ruckus." Ms. Kim said with a slight chuckle as Soomin could be heard shrieking and Yooyeon letting out a scream of Seoyeon's name for her to come back or she'd die. A bit dramatic, wasn't she?
And with that, they both headed to the dining room, with the loud sounds of everything being broken in the background.

Chapter Text
Dinner went so well, Seoyeon fit right in with the chaos that the Kim family was. Soomin ended up falling in love with her and even threatening Yooyeon to steal her if she didn't watch out. Yooyeon of course held her hostage in the air like she weighed nothing and Soomin kept apologizing and begging for Yooyeon to put her feet back on the holy ground.
Soomin was shaking in fear, realizing that maybe Seoyeon was the trigger point but also already plotting all tons of things against Yooyeon while using Seoyeon as her protective barrier from Yooyeon killing her. Perfect!
Seoyeon was now in the kitchen, helping Yooyeon's mother clean up while the other two were going at it in the living room once more. "I feel like I'm supposed to be bothered by the amount of stuff I'm hearing fall down. I think this is a natural response to the amount of trauma I've received from those two." Ms. Kim said as she shook her head in amusement, Seoyeon let out a soft chuckle as Yooyeon could be heard letting out a squeal.
Yes, you read that right. A squeal.
Alpha's are not supposed to squeal.
But then again, since when has Yooyeon ever acted like a normal alpha?
"I want you to know that Yooyeon will never hurt you if you give her the chance to walk into your heart, she has morals and values that she respects with her whole existence. I know that you've mentioned having a hard time around alpha's but my baby is different, I can promise you that here." Ms. Kim said, really hoping that Seoyeon would stay with Yooyeon. Looking over at the younger girl with soft eyes, maybe even hopeful if you squinted enough.
Her daughter has been alone most of the time and looking after Soomin while she was still a baby herself. She wants nothing more than for Yooyeon to find herself the woman of her dreams and to live the good life she has always deserved to live. And Ms. Kim knows that Seoyeon is that woman, just in the way they acted with each other and even those gazes filled with love. They're meant to be.
They cross out each other's negatives and even are polar opposites which makes their dynamic so much more real—raw if you must say.
"I know she won't, Ms. Kim. Yooyeon showed me it a long time ago. She's been different from the start and that was what attracted me to her from the very beginning." The older woman smiled as she wiped away a stray tear. "Thank you for bringing her to life." She said softly and Seoyeon froze.
"Ever since she met you, something in her changed. She's...happy—not that she wasn't before but this is just different. A flipped switch to who she has been. I just thought it was academic success until she mentioned you." Seoyeon turned to look at her curiously, Yooyeon talked about her to her mom? "I hope it was nice things she said." Seoyeon joked and Yooyeon's mother sighed amusedly.
"She talked about you like how a child talks about their favorite candy, I realized then that my daughter was in love with someone for the first time in her life. And I'm happy that it's with someone like you. You're guarded but you're also the kind to lower your walls for Yooyeon to make it over easier. You let her reach you even when you aren't so sure yourself." The woman said with a giant smile before she went back to drying the dishes that Seoyeon had been washing prior.
And Seoyeon herself stood there frozen at her words. She's also happy that Yooyeon fell in love with her. Seoyeon knows she hit jackpot with Yooyeon and she's never going to let go. Ever. She'd be stupid to do so.
"I hope you aren't telling her any of my childhood stories that would embarrass me highly—I was a weird kid." Yooyeon's voice made them whip their heads towards the entrance of the kitchen, where she leaned against the frame. "Oh, if I told her those stories she'd fall even more in love with you and your weirdness." Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon with love in her eyes, making Yooyeon want to kneel with a ring then and there.
Maybe it was going too fast or maybe not, but Yooyeon swears that she's damn near ready to asking for marriage and tie Seoyeon down to her forever. It was crazy, but maybe that's the only alpha thing about her after all.
"I doubt it, she'd probably think I was missing a screw—I still am probably, haven't you seen me lately?" That made both of them laugh as Soomin spawned in from behind her. "But not missing more of a screw than me, I climbed a tree once and I didn't know how to get back down at one point, Yooyeon was climbing up to get me and when she was reaching out for me, I accidentally pushed her off—totally meant to though, and almost killed her and then I managed to hop off easily." Seoyeon's eyes went wide at the sudden almost murder confession.
"You were on a murder mission, Soomin. She almost cracked her skull open!" Ms. Kim said and Soomin started to laugh like it was nothing serious, maybe she's a maniac. "But hey, she's still alive at least. Probably a little messed up now but still breathing. Like look at her and her ripe age." Seoyeon shook her head in amusement, as Ms. Kim threw some dirty water at Soomin and Yooyeon smacked the back of her head in utter annoyance causing Soomin to whine and smack her back.
Seoyeon's eyes locked to Yooyeon who was now walking towards her, ignoring Soomin that kicked the back of her leg and took hold of her hand once she was close enough to do so, Yooyeon gave a glance to Soomin and her mother before speaking. "I want to show you something." Soomin let out a squeal before she started to frantically pace to keep her excitement under control and not look at Seoyeon.
Ms. Kim clasped her hands together with glee before turning around to mind her business. Seoyeon looked at Yooyeon confused who was now tugging at her hand to follow her with that charming smile on her face. They know something she doesn't, but what could it be?
Yooyeon quietly led her out of the kitchen, a certain skip to her steps as they walked down the hallway to what Seoyeon assumed was her room. "You're acting strange." Seoyeon said, squeezing Yooyeon's hand to get her to stop walking but the alpha continued until she stopped in front of a door that had Pokemon stickers scattered all over it. Yooyeon turned to look at her with soft smile before taking a step closer and pressing the softest kiss Seoyeon has ever felt against her forehead. "I've been strange since day one, you know." Seoyeon let out a soft chuckle before she leaned in and placed a kiss on Yooyeon's cheek.
The older girl's smile couldn't be resisted as her pearl white teeth came to view and Seoyeon's heart melted for what would be the millionth time today alone. "I know, but the skip to your steps?—are you going to kidnap me for real this time? At least warn me." Seoyeon said with a soft roll of eyes and with a raised eyebrow and Yooyeon took another step forward and pressed her forehead against Seoyeon's.
Was it crazy to say that she wanted to be underneath Seoyeon's skin? Yes? Okay, she'll keep that thought to herself then.
"If making you the love of my life for the rest of my life is being counted to being a way to kidnap someone, then I am." Yooyeon reached behind her and opened the door, it creaked as it opened. Yooyeon pulled away and looked into Seoyeon's eyes. Silently asking her to trust her, in which she did. They both started to walk in and once Seoyeon saw what Yooyeon had prepared, tears swelled her eyes in a snap of fingers.
There on the Mario kart themed bed stood a poster that asked 'may I be the love of your life for the rest of this life and the ones to follow?' And beside it was a basket with possibly every little snack that Seoyeon loves with her whole heart and plushies she remembers mentioning before, gift bags from famous boutique stores and then, the most simple but meaningful bouquet of roses that meant Yooyeon's love laid near the edge of the bed.
Candles on the floor that led to the bed, rose petals scattered all around the room. This was beyond romantic, this was just everything that Seoyeon had never imagined to happen in her life. And now here she is, with Yooyeon next to her. The love of her life.
Seoyeon's tears fell not long after, Yooyeon was already crying just feeling the emotions coursing through Seoyeon, Soomin and Ms. Kim by the door hugging each other as they looked at the two lovebirds with adoration. God, the proposal was finally here. And it was truly the most beautiful thing ever. Yooyeon definitely knows how to treat her girl.
"So what do you say, am I granted the honor of being the love of your life?" Seoyeon slowly turned to Yooyeon. "You have been since the moment you covered me with your jacket, my alpha. It'll be me and you in this life and the next to follow. Forever." Seoyeon said, jumping on Yooyeon with the biggest smile Yooyeon or anyone has ever seen before on her face. Seoyeon wrapped her legs around Yooyeon tightly as the alpha held her as if she'd disappear.
"Is that a yes then?" God, Yooyeon was adorable. Seoyeon pulled her head back, locking eyes with Yooyeon before leaning in and sealing their lips together in a silent promise of forever. Yooyeon smiled as Seoyeon kept pecking her, Soomin and Ms. Kim cheering from where they stood before rushing in with impatience and engulfing the now official couple into a group hug that was meant to suffocate them.
Seoyeon felt warmth all over her for more reasons than one. This felt like a true family, a home. Home was honestly wherever Yooyeon was.
In between the cheers of Yooyeon's mother and sister, Yooyeon's voice was too quiet that Seoyeon almost missed what she said.
"I love you."
Three simple words that made Seoyeon's being erupt into fireworks as she hugged Yooyeon tighter than before with tears falling down the sides of her face.
"I love you too."
And now Yooyeon had officially done it, she managed to do what no one else dared to.
Seoyeon fell in love with her.
Seoyeon let an alpha back into her life and be more than what was expected of her to be.
"Oh my god—when is the wedding?!" Soomin’s scream pierced through their ears, all three of them smacking her to quiet her down.
And now this was the ending they've both deserved from the start.
Happy and in love.
