Huntrix live in Manila!

Summary:

For Team Trese, they've earned themselves a rare night off from their usual duties. Why not go to a Huntrix concert?

For Huntrix, their Comeback Tour lands them in Manila. Happy fans, happy Honmoon.

No more monsters for Huntrix to worry about, right?

Notes:

This is purely self-indulgent and more for me than anything else. Spoilers for Kpop Demon Hunters obviously if you haven't seen the movie.

Chapter 1: Happy fans, happy Honmoon!

Chapter Text

"Who are we here for? WE ARE HERE FOR HUNTRIX!!!!" The Kambal practically screamed in their excitement as the stadium rapidly found itself packed with equally happy fans of the band in question as Alexandra covered her ears from the screaming as they and their fellow fans were waiting for their muses to perform their latest song "Golden" tonight.

"Who am I here for? Uh, well obviously Zoey! THE QUEEN OF THE RAP SCENE!! Whoo!" Basilio shouted into the reporter's mic as he showed his enthusiasm by making a heart symbol with his hands after he gestured his words out loud into Philippine Sign Language to translate himself. Regarding Crispin's favorite, he stated that he preferred Mira, citing her impressive dancing on stage and her badass at all times attitude and at one point questioning if it was normal for someone to wear a sleeping bag to the MET Gala. Alex herself preferred Rumi for her singing skills and the raw power she had as a vocalist. The newer questions on Alex's mind were more on the Saja Boys and the strangeness of Rumi's new full body tattoos that resembled the tattoos worn by the Sajas as part of their experimental style of jumping between songs that were silly and catchy (mainly "Soda Pop") to songs that were much more disturbing to think about and ponder lyrics wise (mainly "Your Idol") as Alexandra had thought about the whole one-sided rivalry between the two bands.

Why did Huntrix hate the Saja Boys so much for gaining their fandom so quickly? None of them really knew, since they knew nothing of the Honmoon, and were mainly focused on the joy of going to a concert tonight.

Chapter 2: Shadow angels

Notes:

Some references to Musok stuff. Koreans reading this are free to correct me for any accidental inaccuracies in this. Same for the Filipinos reading this too. I'm not very familiar with Korean and Filipino folklore stuff, but I am perfectly okay with learning from someone who knows better than I do.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

It was incredible to see the Honmoon shining in every color as Huntrix performed for their fans in Metro Manila and the unity of their souls harmonizing as one. The Hunters in question throughout the performance noticed that three of the audience members were somehow much more resonant and the Honmoon began to glow a bright violet shade that none of them had seen before. It was a shade of violet that emitted the most from two of their fans who seemed to be identical twin brothers, both of them being the most likely source of the bright light, with their companion in between the twins glowing a slightly lighter shade as she sang with them. They noticed what could best be called a “Mini-Honmoon” surrounding the girl as the twins’ own souls seemed to be creating a shield around their friend while the Honmoon itself was functioning as normal.

After the show, Huntrix was collectively very confused by what they had seen, discussing between themselves in their native Korean as to what the violet shades with those twins and their friend was all about.

“What on Earth was that purple thing with those three fans? That was like a Mini-Honmoon or something, right? That had to have been Honmoon Magic, right?” Zoey speculated as she began to look up any references to the Honmoon within Filipino culture and cross referenced anything she could find that could be compared to the rituals utilized by Mudang like themselves, the closest thing being the concept of a Babaylan and/or a Babaylan-Madirigma. No references to anything like the Honmoon was found until further notice. Zoey bookmarked the Wikipedia pages for those concepts in case new “International Honmoon” research of hers could be found and studied back at home in Seoul.

“Yeah, that was definitely weird. Should we do an outreach event while we’re still here and ask them about what the Mini-Honmoon they made even was?” Mira suggested as she read through Zoey’s latest bookmarks and understood the comparison. Part of her began to think that instead of being fellow Hunters, those three fans, or maybe just the twin brothers, were Gwisin of some kind. That kind of glow wasn’t any form of Demonic Magic. That kind of glow and the raw power that radiated from the brothers had to have been the favor of whatever kind of Janggunsin that they were. Those brothers had to have been some flavor of god in some form, right? Mira bookmarked the necessary pages on both Korean mythology and several lists of Filipino gods worshipped by various ethnic groups that could generally call themselves some form of Filipino, as well as the page on Demigods just to be safe, alongside Cambions in case they were like Rumi.

“Girls, only Hunters are able to even perceive the Honmoon, remember? And even if they were Gwisin, the chances of these three specific fans being Hunters at the same time is impossible for us to pin down. The chances of us meeting and greeting them are extremely slim. Let’s just put a pin in this weirdness for now and study it when we get home to our couch.” Rumi pointed out as her patterns shifted from bright gold and electric blue to hot pink and dark purple in her own concerns regarding those strange fans of theirs. Even if they were Hunters, could Hunters not native to the Korean Peninsula even perceive the Honmoon, or was it restricted to Korean Hunters regardless of the countries that called the landmass home from rise to fall? For most of Humanity's history, the world was basically just the “Known World” until about 500 years ago, so did that mean that the Honmoon was the same way for the Hunters who came before then?

Notes:

Ah, they have no idea how bizarrely accurate they are. Let's see where this craziness keeps going, shall we?
