Summary:

Z.J is an exchange student from Japanese. They are very mysterious. They barely attends class, but some how manages to pass every test with 100%, No one has ever seen their parents, there's has no files on them, and if they're is suppose to be the perfect student, why were they caught on deleted camera footage sneaking into an abandoned technology factory? What is with their obsession with technology? And what does any of this have to do with the team's last villain, Dr. Julien?

Chapter 1

Chapter 2: New Kid

Summary:

Jay's thoughts and feelings on hos new apartment and his new 'friend'

Jay's POV

Jay Walker was already feeling nervous. He wasn't nervous in the traditional sense of not making friends, or not doing well in university. Why should he? He had 2 years to wait. No. He was worried about Dr. Julien. Dr. Julien was an inventor and a mad scientist, going as far as experimenting on his own family into becoming mindless servants, and though he claimed to love them very, very much, he was very quick to sacrifice them so he could get away with his 3 year old son.

In the end though, when his lab was collapsing, Jay noticed that a laptop was loading something called Last Resort, and before he could click the option to stop it, he noticed that Dr, Julien's son was trapped under a pile of bricks and Jay chose to rescue him. Unfortunately, he died in the hospital from blood loss.

Also, Jay was scared of his dorm. Now, that sound stupid and odd, compared to his first fear, but Jay has 4 friends, and one of them is a girl, so each year, one boy has to have a dorm to themselves, or with a stranger, and last year Kai was that person and fell in love, from a potion, with Dr. Julien's daughter, Zayne. She tried getting Kai to help her and her father, but Kai broke free from the spell and was the one to stop Zayne.

So yeah, it was agreed that they could no longer share a room with a stranger, and because this year, Jay was suppose to be the one to share his room with a stranger, but now, he had to stay at an apartment. And Jay is afraid of being on his own. Like, up to phobia level. 

When he got into his two roomed  apartment, he noticed that is was very small, it has one single bed pushed right next to the wall, and had a simple, almost stereotypical cover and pillow. The walls had been painted grey, and the floors had not carpet and the only light came from a lightbulb that was very orange but would still be considered yellow and flickered like crazy. The only other thing that was in this room was a window with mould coloured curtains and a very very small TV on the wall next to his bed. The room couldn't fit anything else.

The next room could barely qualify as a bathroom. It has a tap that only ran cold water and looked like it could collapse at any moment, a toilet that definitely needed fixing by a well qualified engineer, a bathroom mirror that looked like a hairdryer had been thrown at it, a cabinet that had a missing door and a very very dirty £50 note in there. That was probably suppose to make up for this apartment. The bathroom did have toilet paper, but it was very dusty and wrinkled. Well, it was nothing compared to the room, but Jay wasn't going to take his chances.  

He quickly unpacked, he put his toothbrush in the bathroom cabin, folded his clothes and piled them up under his bed, and he put his shoes under the coat rack. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention about that, it was old, dusty and broken like everything in here. 

Jay knew that he probably shouldn't waist his money right now, but he needed a good way to relieve himself, and he didn't have to pay rent. The only perk of this place. So he went out and bought as much drugs as he could and got himself high. He almost passed out. It was at night, so he had asked his friends to join, but they said they where to tired from the first day back at school, maybe next month. That only made Jay drink more and more. To stop the hurt that he was feeling. 

When he was drunk, he was happy. He didn't have to worry about being dumb, or not going to university. He had no worries in the world. Though he used to do it in secret, after he restarted after almost getting overdosed. His girlfriend, Nya shouted at him for 5 hours.

That only made him want to drink and smoke even more. He had so many bad habits that he knew Nya had to truly love him to still want to stay. He never cheated though. No matter how drunk he was, or which girl or boy asked him, he never slept or made out with another person. This year though, Nya said they 'weren't breaking up, just having a break'. It is called breaking up for a reason though. 

Oh well, he thought as a non binary person his age asked Jay to bring him back to his home.

Maybe if he was in his right mind, he would've noticed that something was wrong, Zane their name was, they said they had gotten amnesia a few years back and now lived their life trying to rediscover their old life, whilst forming this new one. Jay took them back to his apartment, and that night, he had someone to hold other than Nya as he fell asleep. In the morning, Jay noticed that Zane had left a note with £100 inside.

It had said that they were going to come back tomorrow and bring drugs with him and more money. How thoughtful of him, Jay thought, still a little drunk from last night. 

As soon as he was back in his right mind, Jay quickly realized what this Zane was doing, they were paying Jay to sleep with him and maybe one day do a little more. Though, that wasn't a big deal, it wasn't like he was still with Nya, and he had to find a way to earn money, this would be the best way if he didn't want to do a job. Jay was totally fine with this, unless they turn out to be some villain that wants to use and manipulate him into ending the world. That was only a one time thing with Kai though, it probably wouldn't happen again. Hopefully.

Jay stuck a picture of him with his teammates onto the broken bathroom mirror. He had the whole day ahead of him and he still had things to unpack and place. Next, he took out the comics published about The Ninjas, that was him and his team's superhero selves, they weren't technically ninja just yet, but he wasn't complaining. Maybe one day, Zane could join them. Ha. As if. Kai would never ever let that happen, not in one billion years, and Nya would say something about him cheating even though they weren't technically dating anymore.  

As promised, Zane returned with the £150. That night was Jay's second best night, with his number one being yesterday. There was something to this Zane that just clicked for Jay. Though, because of last year, the others probably wouldn't like or accept Zane as Jay's boyfriend or even just friend. And because of university, everything bad would be seen as 100000x worse. His friends had face timed him earlier and they all looked so beat. Nya was wearing a very loose and messy bun, Kai hadn't gelled his hair, Cole looked like he hadn't gotten any rest and Lloyd wasn't even in the face time, he had shouted something about studying when he was called to come. 

Zane told him that he would return everyday each time paying him more by £50, until the end of the month where it would reset to 100. Jay was totally fine with that, he got money for free everyday, with it increasing by 50 everyday until the end of the month. That would technically be his pay check, and his team didn't have to know what his 'job' is just yet. 

And that was how he basically spent the first week. Sleeping with a stranger who payed him, and unpacking things that quickly got covered in dust and/or broke

Notes:

For some context, in this au, Kai, Lloyd, Nya, Cole and Jay are heroes/Ninja-in-training, and their last major villain was a mad scientist and inventor called Dr. Julien. They destroyed him, his lab and everything that he build, but not before protocol 3N@Z was activated from Dr. Julien's laptop. I may or may not create a story about that. We'll see.

Also this chapter includes mentions of almost overdosing, drugs, smoking and a depressing tone.
